um, you know, they I was

I was taken to California when I was like a year I don't have I don't have memories of Mexico.

I grew up in California went to school in California. You know, the the type of lifestyle in California, a lot of gangs. You grew up with a lot of racism.

And it was like, my, my family. My family actually was my family's question, right? I grew up in, in a Christian church going to a Baptist Church. But something happened when I was really young.

My family got torn apart. My father ended up in state prison. And it was it's actually something really, really, really personal in my in our life, what he did to our family, he broke our family apart, right? And it was like, I would our I was really young. When that happened. The last time I saw him, I think I was 10.

And I haven't seen him since you know, but

I was really mad at the time. Because like, I would say to myself, like out

I will see my mom and my mom was going to church. And she would always take us to church and and i would say like why did why did this happen to us? If If my mom was looking for, for God, you know?

I was too young to actually like really believe in God. But I would never like

I would never see that. Like I would see Christianity sometimes, you know, like,

wondering like, why why would you guys worship a human being what was so special for him to be crucified to be killed.

I, when I was younger, when I when I was younger, I was I was really like I was I was

grown to be like, I grew up being proud of who I was being proud of I was Mexico's Mexican, you know, that it was a it was all about that that brown and proud Mexican pride. That like always came up like, like, that's the type of person I was, um,

when when when my family was broken apart, like I started doing things I shouldn't do, you know, hanging around with the wrong people.

I ended up

you know, like, like any normal kid, you know, stealing, just like, I would sometimes like try to like, do softies like trying to help my mom because I would, I would see my mom, like,

at 910 12 at night crying, you know, because she had a, she was left alone with four kids, I was told just one. And she had never worked in the US. She didn't speak English. She spoke only Spanish. And I really like I was I was too young now to see what what had happened. While my father had done in my family,

the way that he had destroyed my family, you know,

I started just like looking for an excuse to belong to gangs, you know, to start doing criminal criminal activity.

Basically, my mom told me like, Hey, if you're gonna follow that life, like, stay away from your brothers, because you're gonna give them back sample, right?

And I was, like,

always tried to, like blame that what had happened with my father

in our family, and like, I would always try to blame that like, Oh, I'm, I'm, I'm falling the way I'm going because because of what he did to our family.

But I was just looking for an excuse, right on,

I start getting into trouble. And I was like, I had to leave the I leave the US and just try to like, look for something different because of the problems I was.

I was getting into.

But I didn't know that. It's, it's very difficult in Mexico. And it's even even more crazier. I had no idea to what extent I was going to get involved, right. You had no no idea what was waiting for you. Exactly. Like I thought that that was bad like that. They were like they were bad. Like they were they were real gangsters. I have no idea of what the human being is capable of doing. You know, I came down to Mexico.

Life was really hard, right? Because there's like, it's a third world country.

This is not a lot of money. Um, I went to the south part of Mexico. It's delicious. There's a small state called Guerrero.

I was there for a couple of months. I didn't like it. And I moved to a state that's close to Mexico City.

But I still felt like I felt I felt alone because I didn't I didn't know anybody, right. Um, I met a person that I consider my brother because like, he saw that he saw what I was going through.

It's been a long time since I've

Seeing my mom, when I left them. I was really young when I started walking by myself when I started trying to like live by myself, so it's like,

for me like Christmas, New Year were really bad days, like, because I would see like, all the families get together, right. And I remember what happened to my family how my dad had affected our family. And a lot of people like they they will probably want to know, I don't want to share what happened to my family. there that was really personal. That I think that if I would have been like, if, if that would have happened if my dad would have done what he did. When I was a little bit older, I would have probably took in his life, you know, at time. I couldn't because I was too young. No, I was too scared. Um, so when I came down here, I met this this person that I really that he really cared for me his name, his name was Martine he had a we call them his nickname was Nino de You know, he was from border brothers from from San Diego. But he was living in the south. And and he went when I met him, he's like, Hey, I'm

gonna show you some homie love, you know, and he gave me some stuff and he's like, whenever you want to kick it, you come down here. And he started showing me that I wasn't alone.

and in the type of life that that requires you to be in the organization.

But, um, I would say that they're like, everybody was his friend while he was alive. But when he got killed, I consider him a friend because

I was like, Well, I was only one me and me and a 13 year old kid, that would that he, to this day, he would he tells me you guys were like, you were like, when you guys were like my big brothers, you know? And I did, I did start getting those people that had done that to my brother.

But I ended up in a situation where I got

Caught up, you know, I caught up with, with weapons and with some drugs, you know, I got caught up. I got I got caught by the by the Mexican government. So they they catch me and they give the torsion, right? They're like hey, you're not because I had already been I had already been once caught because I got caught with the with the nine millimeter because we were going to go to do a business but the government caught us. But I went I went to, to the holding cells and like, the cartel got me out real quick. The second time they got me there, like you're not gonna leave them, but are like, I know the laws here. So I was like, like, I'm just gonna go pay them, I'm gonna pay

the fine for the for the for the weapons, I'm gonna sign for the drug and I'm gone.

I didn't I wasn't expecting that, that the Mexican government was going to change, change things around and they were going to put me on murder case, you know, because they knew I was working for that organization. They knew I didn't say anything about the organization because I know how things are here. You know, when you say something when you rat someone out, you get dealt with. And sometimes by the same by the same government, the government like he's just testing you. If you say if you talk about if you talk about the mafia, if you talk about the cartel, they won't report you they you got they they you they have you they'll take you and they'll they'll give you so you got to

see a lot of different scary things how you talk about this being just a really dark world. Okay, yeah.

Um, I went into prison right? And I will see a lot of like, I wasn't a believer like I didn't believe like even if I had that Christianity, like I had been in it as as a kid I had been I grew up in Christianity. I didn't really believe in it. I started seeing a lot of weird things you know, like down here in Mexico there's no but they believe in a lot of a lot of people believe in the Holy death. Right. And my mentality was was in, in that I knew I was going to die there. I knew that my life was going to end fighting and and and belonging to these cartels.

And that mentality of knowing that I was going to die, I wasn't afraid of it, you know, I was ready to die. And we had we have been really close to death a lot a lot of times.

But we actually started scaring me was that I wasn't scared of dying. But what was there to come after death. Like, I started noticing a lot of things. I

Allah, Allah sent me a dream before I left, before I left the organization, and I saw myself getting killed by my own people, right? by the people that I was working for.

I didn't know about God, I really didn't believe in it. But I just said like, out of nowhere, like,

I just had to leave, you know, I just I had that that necessity in my heart just to leave like, Just what are you doing? Like you're you're gonna you're gonna die for something that has no has no, no value, you're going to die for people that are that they're not loyal to. So I decided to leave, like out of nowhere, just out of left in the morning. When they woke up. They were looking for me like crazy because I had a lot of people that were working for me. And I had a good control over some large territory of that cartel.

I just left I ended up in a small city

a small room. One had nothing just by myself, you know?

And I really didn't know what was like the what was the purpose of my life? I didn't know why I was still alive when I was when I had to be dead right.

And I started getting into depression because of what I had and what I did to what I was where I was at. And I had that little voice like you're a coward like you're a coward. I thought you were gonna I thought you were gonna die for those people. Okay, I thought you were gonna die in the fight you know, that says like

I felt really lost like really realized man so again, scared because like of the whispers out here like, I couldn't find peace like I couldn't find something. You know. It got to the point where

I sat down on my bed. And I was thinking of like, should I kill myself man I like I'm not I have not

You actually got to a point where you're contemplating suicide oh yeah no definitely brother that I got really scared and that's that's where the moment where I don't even like I just close my eyes and I I say like I don't know if you really exist or if you're hearing me this but man like

You know, I even though I knew I'm where I had murdered and I was facing up to 20 or 35 years in prison. I was gonna spend the rest of my life there. I was not scared. You know, I will tell them like, I'm not here to stay man. I'm here to grow. I'm here to learn and I'm going to come out even stronger.

Not knowing that, not knowing that I was gonna find guidance to what I now know No, but to go ahead

when I came out and I was in I was doing that a certain friend that was really involved in in witchcraft and and and, and all this he told me he's a that there's this there's this

witch that wants to do a cleaning on you because he's saying that you have that they're that they're working

and as a mom grandma is he says that you're going to end up you're going to end up very in a very bad position

And I told him like, Oh, yeah, I know, man. Don't worry. We left. And I went back into my room. And I just sat at home the villa God. Because the devil the devil did not does not want to did not want to let me go he was mad, you know?

You you connected because the previous lifestyle all of the horrible things you did from the past? Yeah, you're a good worker for him. Hmm, exactly. And, and he wanted like he wanted, he knew he knew because like, there's a lot of things that have happened in my life that I couldn't find explanation to right.

A lot of things happened in my life. And I've had a lot of things happen that I would like, I would say to myself, man, maybe you're crazy. Like, why are you having these? Why do you have? Why are you seeing these things? When I didn't believe in them. And when when when I started, like looking for for a long sight, like concentrating on saying I'm gonna change my life, I'm gonna be something better if I was willing to die for those for those wrong reasons. Now, I'm willing to do that for all the right reasons. Brother, I got this job, right.

The second day, I became Muslim, they fired me.

Like, everything started going against me.

I everything.

And instead of, instead of me getting mad, you know, I, I asked myself like, this is a test. To know, if you're, if you really want to change, or at the first at the at the first at the first encounter of problems, you're going to run back to what you know what you used to know, because that was all I know, I knew to do what I used to do before. I don't I don't really want to say what I did, because it's like glorifying that.

But I was a very evil person, you know,

I will take care of business without feeling any type of without having a heart.

And when when when I started looking for God, like I started seeing how I lost my job. Everything was going downhill

people would call me up like, Hey, we know you, we know you left, but we want to, we want you to take care of business, we're gonna pay you this much money. Like the money that they were offering was 50 grand to take care of business.

Like

offers were coming and coming for me to to to run back. Anybody would like anybody would run back to that, right?

If I was if I didn't know what I had encounter, and I did if I didn't know what what ally had guided me to have done it because I had that was my life. That was stuff that was what I used to do. That was my business.

But I knew that

inside of me, I would say

are you going to turn your back on your Creator now that he has guided me to something that is true? That is true.

I am 100% sure this is

this is the true religion? Because like I talked to Muslims, and they asked me, How did you know about how did you find out about Islam?

the most important thing that we can that we can have, and that they can never take away from us, we can lose everything, we can lose freedom, we can lose everything we can lose in this world, this world. But the guidance that he gives

Absolutely. And they can never take that away, you know, we can lose everything.

I've lost everything, and the only thing I have is him. And that's the only thing I know. So I'm happy, I'm happy. I'm doing everything. I know, everything's gonna

everything's is getting to that point. And I really want to learn more because like, I talked to my friends, you know, I have a lot of friends still in that business. And like they they tell me like, Hey, we respect you, man.

We know we did right here. We're not you're not the type of person that that just like, turned your back but but we've been in a gunfight with you like we've been in contrast with you. You're no coward.

But you know, and now I understand that I have this agreed or disagreed classroom.

have on my heart, I want to be able to tell those people that are in the mafia, they're in the cartels, because a lot of people like they, they think they don't have heart, we have a lot of heart. And I know that a lot of them are there because of they have they can have their own reasons.

He's looking round from the left to the right where to hang himself, but he does look. He don't know about Islam, the only thing he heard about Islam, he's thinking these guys are terrorists. And now but he's doing something that's innate in the human being, he's calling upon the Creator, the heavens on earth alone, he's calling upon the Creator.

He's saying, look, guide me. He didn't call upon and see and say, Jesus, he didn't see but say God, he didn't say a law. He just said, guide me he but he was calling sincerely to the one creator, the creator. That's what the main takeaway you can be in the worst place in your life. You're not living with purpose. But now you are sincerely wanting to know your purpose in life. You want to know where you're going when you die while you're here. Ask the creator the heavens and earth ask from the depths of your heart and soul sincerely guide me guide me guide me. And you'll be surprised what happened.
