So we will also be punished in the fire for 40 days.

If I asked you a question? They said, yes, yes, we will tell you the truth. He asked, have you poisoned this sheep? The sheep that they served him? They said yes. So what do we learn in this Hadees that they believe that they would only be in the fire for a short period. And because of this, they did not accept Islam because of this false belief. They have been deceived in their religion. They commit crime after crime, atrocity after atrocity, any any kind of injustice, you name it, and all of that has been justified.
