Musa’s (AS) frustration with Bani Israel – Conversations

Salam Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Welcome to another segment of conversations where we take a conversation that has taken place in the Quran, a story and we expand upon it and we learn from it. Let's begin ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada says, with Allah Musa Omi he, when we remember the time so this is Allah talking to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saying that oh Prophet, we remember the time when Musa said to his people with guru Nia Amata Allahu alaykum that remember the blessings of Allah subhanho wa Taala upon you

Now before Musa could tell them what Allah wants from them Allah Musa Islam is reminding them Allah's blessings upon them. You know this is a very common thing that we find in the Quran. whenever ALLAH has certain expectations from us or he wants us to do something, Allah reminds us about his blessings upon us. Like you know go back to like for example, you look at Surah like sutra, Rahman,

Allah mentioned so many blessings and neuromas that he has given us, and what does he say over and over again, for me a Euro become Attica, Diva and the which of the Blessings of Allah and the near Mercy of Allah subhanho wa Taala will you reject? Now when people go to war, you have no idea who's going to come out as as the victor and who's going to come out as defeated. And it does not matter how many you know, we've seen so many different stories. And you know, history tells us about so many

different wars and battles that took place, that the one who has the most amount of resources they thought

They will be easily you know, they would, they will win the battle. But it just so happened that they lost the battle and the one who has who had less resources, they won the battle. So when you walk into a battle you usually don't know are you going to be on the winning side or on the losing end? Otherwise, anytime the word Jabbar has been used in the Quran, is in reference to a tyrannical group, a group that really imposes themselves upon other people. Now someone may ask is, if this is the meaning of Jabbar, then Allah subhanaw taala is not tyrannical. So how would we understand the word Jabbar in the context of Allah subhanho wa taala. And the answer to that is that what this means is that when ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala wants something, he will make it he will execute it and he will make his poem and he will make his poem he will make his people and his slaves and the entire dunya and his McCullagh do it, he is able to impose his will, on his on his creation. So this is

what Jabbar means in the context of Allah subhanho wa taala. Otherwise, anytime he was using the Quran, it was in reference to a tyrannical group. that I gave you such a long talk, and that is your reaction. Like I would expect that your reaction would be different. And this is something that we see many times I'm sure many of us have been through this and we have been on the other side where we have given that talk and the person in front of us, they simply are just oblivious and they don't care. So this is something similar to this happens to bunny saw these two people it's not Musa was talking to them. outcome is going to be? Yes, you're gonna have to put some hard work into that. But at the same time, the Promise of Allah is there. And you know, subhanAllah This is what Bani is saw in was, and it was after this, that Musa alayhis salam said enough is enough. Like, you know how many times I tried to explain to you and how much I've dealt with you how much you have seen, you know, Allah has, you know, the power of Allah subhanho wa taala. And yet, this is how you behave. In fact, before I get to the next idea where Musa lism, he totally gives up on them. But for 40 years, think about this extended period of time, Allah is showing them and teaching them a lesson that you don't ever show your arrogance to Allah subhanaw taala when Allah has certain expectations from you, fulfill those expectations, try to fulfill those expectations. So because of this, they were trapped in this in this land of tea for 40 years. And Allah subhanho wa Taala says, And do not grieve over people who are considered disobedient. So here Allah subhanaw is telling to Musa Ali Hassan because every prophet, no matter

even Musa lay some says, I'm done with these kinds of people. He never prayed against them. Okay, he never prayed against them. But he says I'm done. And when Musala summon any other profit when they were see their people going through difficulty, it was still hurt their heart, Allah subhanaw taala saying, Do not grieve over these kinds of people, you know, what they have done? And you know, some automat and some scholars have questioned that why 40 years? Was it is there a significance behind the 40 years and suddenly want to might have mentioned on there was not any kind of significance to it. Some have given this explanation, that there is a complete Generation Change over after every 40

years like there is after every 40 years. There's a new generation that comes into the picture.
