O Allah, Refuse My Mother’s Duaa

One of the most profound historic events in world history that our prophets Allah Allahu alayhi wa sallam told us about the people of the trench and the persecution they ultimately faced and that infants that Allah cause to speak up to keep his mother firm, in that very difficult hour.

I wish to continue with another one of those incidents that are prophets, Allah Allahu alayhi wa sallam told us about, that we're an exception to the reality we're accustomed to an incident that we had our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam not told us about it, it would be extremely difficult to believe it. But since it has been confirmed to have left his lips, Allah, he's salatu salam, we say without doubt that yes, this too, was another true story of an infant that spoke in the cradle. He said to us, Allah He salatu salam that there was once a woman that was carrying her child in her arms, and her child was actively nursing was suckling on his mother's breast. And as he was nursing,

a writer passes by that everyone celebrated everyone respected, a man clad in fine clothing

that everyone looked up to and admired. And he would turn heads when he would pass. And so as everyone was mesmerized by the arrival of this celebrity, she said Allah Who magically Bnei Mithila, who, Oh Allah, allow my son to be like Him one day,

on top of the world,

and then Allah cause this infant to speak up he took his mouth off of her. After looking at this man, he turned to his mother and he asked Allah to reject her.

He said, Allah Houma, lotta journeyman, level, O Allah do not make me like this man. The prophets of the Allahu alayhi wa sallam continued to say, then later on, Allah knows best whether the same incident or this happened a period of time later. These are months or years later, he said another time as he was suckling on her breasts.

People dragged forward a slave girl, a girl from the slave class of society, and they were beating her and they were chastising her condemning her verbally. And they were saying then at saraki, you have fornicated you have stoled.

And so, the incident was so tense that the mother naturally like a mother would imagines her own children in a difficult spot and she says, hola, hola. Hola. Tejon. Ibni Mithila. Oh, Allah has never allow my son to ever one day be in that position.

And so Allah azza wa jal caused him to speak up a second time in this second incident, and he removed his mouth and he turned to his mother and he said, while looking at his mother, Allahu Madani, Michela Oh Allah, allow me to one day be like her.

The woman said, what is happening here? How are you speaking? The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us and so at that time, he spoke up on a third event, a third instance, explaining he said, You asked Allah to make me like this man, who was Jabbar and Anita who was like a hard headed tyrant, a stubborn tyrant. And so I asked Allah to not grant you that not put me through that. And you asked Allah to not make me like this girl. This girl who kept saying when they were accusing her has to be Allah when Allah kill Allah is enough for me, and he is the best Disposer of my affairs, the best one to be reliant upon. An I want Allah to make me like that. Someone that is pure of

fornication, pure of theft, pure of relying on others, then Allah subhanho wa taala.

You know, it is not just profound in that Allah allowed this infant suckling child to speak up.

It is also profound that Allah allowed this infant to see through the outward appearances to see through the glitz and the glamour and the shell of this world.

And to realize the reality of a tyrant before others, a corrupt person before others and the reality of an innocent person before others that is also miraculous. The mother needed the explanation

and so have the greatest lessons no doubt here is that Allahu Allah Cooley che in Kadir the Sahaba were nurtured by the stories they were carried by them. Their Islam was fed by them to be reminded time and time again to never be

blindfolded. This is the first lesson by this material world. Allah owns it, Allah is in control of it, Allah is not bound by it subhanho wa Taala he is forever over all things capable, you know, our life could be considered a fight to remember that.

And perhaps this is all for the reasons why we are, you know, resetting ourselves at every step at every prayer by saying Allah is greater, Allah is greater, Allah is greater. He's over all things capable. This will help you in your beliefs. And this will help you in your actions. In your beliefs, no one will come for example, and tell you miracles are unscientific.

You know, science is bound by what we observe

what we observe of patterns in science, those are of the signs of Allah's design, and what we observe of exceptions and they say there's an exception to every rule, we witnessed that as well, scientifically speaking, that is also of Allah signs that he is not bound by the rules, he creates. Subhanahu wa taala. And then, by the way, what have we ever observed of the universe, they say that 4% of the visible universe has been explored by human beings. So you humble yourself and say, We don't know much, we can't do much. And only that which is visible, we've seen 4% of it. And Allah is in full control of the visible and the invisible, the physical world and the metaphysical the baby

world that's beyond our eyes, we are not blindfolded by this material world that's in our beliefs. Also, remembering that Allah is over all things capable, will help you and your practice help you in your actions, that you stop trying to cut corners, because you feel like playing by the book, Living by Allah's book, the Quran will disadvantage you.

You know, one brother came into my office two days ago.

And he was explaining to me his attempt to find his way back into the graduate programs after he has already gotten a master's degree, but he's trying to develop himself and get certified here in certain respects.

So he said, the adviser told me, Don't tell them you got a master's degree, or else they will charge you higher, you will basically lose the qualification for getting an exemption on payment, financial aid wise.

He said, she told me this off the record, but I could not get myself to do it. And so I submitted the application. And she saw that I said, I do have a master's degree from Sudan.

And she said, Why did you do that? He said, I don't care Degree or no degree, I don't lie. It's not what I do.

So that moved her Allah moved her heart with his action with his conviction that he must play by the book to go intercede with her superior with her Managing Director, and he got him an exemption for the tuition anyway.

When you move from this place, you will never be disadvantaged. This is the first thing. The second lesson that is constantly being stated in the Quran, constantly being heard by the Sahaba and and made them who they are, is that the outward appearances of things are often very deceptive. This man is all glamorous and celebrated. He is of the worst of humanity in the sight of Allah and I don't want to be that person. So what if someone is celebrated for a moment? that healthier? Carla who at Yetta gel Genovia Illa yarmulke Yama. There was once a man who was walking so impressed with himself in fine clothing, his hair combed back, everyone looking at him struggling in his stride, all of a sudden

that he is submerged. All of a sudden he is underground meaning what? Sooner or later your debt. Allah says Allah continues to cause him to fall meaning in the life of the grave, bouncing in his fall plummeting back and forth until the Day of Judgment, is it worth it? outward appearances, momentary appearances of this world can be very deceptive. And likewise a person may not be recognized by anyone. No one knows their name. No one respects their occupation. People are put off sometimes by the way, they're forced to dress and it is because of their rank with Allah subhanho wa taala. They refuse to accept the Haram job. They refuse to beg from others at the expense of their

dignity. Think about it. When the people walked in on use of Allah He said

on why did they find him with a ripped up shirt? Why did they find him like that? Because of his refusal to commit haram? Sometimes you holding yourself back for Allah causes your outward appearance to not sometimes you don't do this deliberately may cause your outward appearance to be one step behind others.

And that is why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would constantly remind them Allah does not look at your images Allah does not care for your wealth rather he looks at your hearts when I can young little eat up Hulu become more family come and and your actions a phone call we had that was tough for a lot of the medulla.

a fundamental third lesson from this story

is that the glamour of this world, all of it is not just intoxicating, to people who consume it. Like the sell off the early Muslims used to say at dunya, humble shaitan, that this world is like the intoxicant like the drug or the alcohol of shaytaan. It's what he administers what he uses. That doesn't just mean that it's going to intoxicate, it's going to dizzy and impair someone who consumes it. But this does so even for those who are staring at it. You see, this mother is a sincere mother, she was not trying to harm her child, she was wishing well for her child. But her staring too hard at those that we're enjoying the glamour of this world

could cause her to become intoxicated by it, and offer an misguided do that could have harmed her child had Allah accepted it, or had Allah granted it subhanho wa Taala

you know, this assumption that what people enjoy, they're actually enjoying it's an intoxication. You know, I have a friend that I've known for years, he says, You know, I, I've reached this occupation.

And we want more and more, you know, accomplished people that are not career driven, but conscientious in their careers and skillful at their crafts, we want more and more of that. But he says he was driven to become a doctor, right? And then he says to me, I became a doctor, I got bored very quickly. And so I said, I have to do a fellowship, I got to become more specialized. He said, and it was pure boredom for me. So I, I became a fellow and I took a fellowship position. He said, and then I got to the position that I'm at now. And then immediately, I hated it. Because as he puts it, everyone's out to sue a doctor. These days, the malpractice lawsuits are like an all time high.

So just the tension of worrying about legalities and you just, you know, getting cancelled or blacklisted, or he said it was just too much. And now the brother is not 40 years old yet. He says, I'm thinking about resigning and starting my own business.

And people on the outside may say, this person made it right. Or leave that example, a more, a more exaggerated example is easier. You know, many times you look at the rich and the famous and the powerful, and you're intoxicated by it, right? We don't realize that these people their lives, so many times are riddled with conflict more than others. Their families may struggle more than others. They chase attention so many times more than others, especially those without Islam in their life, especially those of Islam in our life. So no one misunderstands or miss assumes about their brothers and sisters, though we're all subjected to this on some level. They're always chasing it and they're

trying so hard to be escaped by it oriented, the rich and famous celebrities, the performers, don't they try to escape their problems with addictions more than anyone else? It will consume you, it will intoxicate you and sadly, even those that are not in there who are staring at it, go through it as well. You know, I wanted Nabila

Rahimullah one of the Great's of the self, he says about this chase this intoxicating Chase. He says, I used to sit with the wealthiest people of town and nobody was ever more stressed than me. I'm always finding a garment nicer than my garment.

And a horse nicer than my horse every time I get the best car he has a better car comes out right? And he says a horse better than my horse through Majelis to Fukada.

Then when I started sitting socializing with people of meager means people that were poor, I finally found peace, I finally found comfort. Allah azza wa jal said that subhanho wa Taala he said, Well, Adam would then nine acre do not with this mother did, do not extend your sight. What does that mean? Extend your sight, meaning look for prolonged periods of time, don't stare, do not extend your sight lmm, etc, and be here as wedge and mean whom, to those things that we've allowed them to enjoy in different ways. Some have bigger families, some have bigger accounts, some have bigger reputations, different types of enjoyment, do not extend your sight to what we have allowed them to

enjoy meaning temporarily of different types Zahal, higher duniya for this passing blossom of this world, passing joy of this world.

What is Cora bigger, higher on whatever cause the verse ends it says, but the provisions with your Lord, no imperfection to them, no ending for them. They are far superior and far better lasting. And that is why our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said and with it I close, he says either another I had to come. Elam and food de la la he fit duniya when one of you finds himself staring at those that were preferred above him in the worldly sense in the material sense in the sense that most people that are blindfolded measured by when you find yourself looking up to those people that are above you in this world.

By the measures of this world, he said fell younger Eli man who has fell I mean who let him quickly fix that. equalize it, by looking at those that are beneath him. Those that are more disadvantaged than him, it will help him find that balance again, it will help him not be ungrateful for the blessings of Allah over him. So when it comes to this world, look at those beneath you.

And when it comes to the hereafter, constantly look at those above you

and you will realize that they had the best of this world than the next. Nobody enjoyed this life before paradise, like those who live to love Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and worked for an opportunity to see them with their eyes. No one lived a better life than a life of longing for Allah and His most perfect messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam May Allah grant us and do that make that our greatest dream and ambition and that of our children Allah whom I mean, may we never waver in our understanding that Allah is over all things capable. I mean, Allah azza wa jal did not make us of those who are deceived by outward appearances. May Allah subhanho wa Taala

protect us from ever becoming intoxicated by the glamour and glitter of this world.
