The Shepherd’s Way #02 – Necessity Achieves

Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim Al hamdu lillah wa Salatu was Salam ala Rasulillah. Assalamu alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. brothers, and sisters and friends, and welcome to the second episode of our little angel series, the shepherds way. And now we're going to be talking about the second timeless leadership lesson, which is necessity achieved. In other words, be strategic, have a strategic focus. Brothers and sisters, you have to realize that it's not just about having a goal, you need to be able to achieve that goal in some way. In other words, you have to develop a strategy to ensure your vision becomes a reality. Now, what is a strategy? A strategy or a strategic focus is

the key areas of work or domains of activity that would necessarily lead to your vision becoming a reality. So ask yourself two key questions to develop a strategic focus. Number one, what are the actions, activities, resources and relationships that you need to make your vision a reality? Number two, can I demonstrate Can you demonstrate that the actions that you have chosen the domains of activities that you have selected

are necessarily going to lead to your vision if they don't need to reevaluate because you have to select domains of activity or actions that will necessarily lead to your vision. I remember brothers and sisters, consult, do surer brainstorm, look at best practice, consult experts see what has been achieved before and how it has been achieved. All of this is going to help you to formulate your strategic focus. And there are four main benefits brothers and sisters of a strategic focus number one, focus itself. Yes, that's one of its benefits, you will have a focus. And that means you will use your resources wisely, and place them at the service of your vision. Number two, it makes

decision making easier because you know what needs to be done. So you know how to say no to things that will not lead to the fulfilment of your vision. Number three, it helps you plan since you know what needs to be done, go and do it. And finally, number four, it achieves your vision this is fundamental, there's a fundamental benefit, it actually achieves your vision. Now bear in mind, you can always revise your strategy because as you continue on this path, you will gain more experience and knowledge and wisdom. And you will realize that you may have to do some strategic tweaks. But remember, with a strategy, you're more likely to make an impact and you're more likely to ensure

that your vision becomes a reality. Now please no brothers and sisters, do not think your strategy has intrinsic value. Plan in pencil. What do I mean by that? Because the plan of ALLAH SubhanA wa to Allah is always going to manifest itself and no and realize that it's only through Allah's help, and His mercy and His power, that your vision will become a reality. It's not your strategy itself. There is no intrinsic value in your strategy. Remember that Hola, Willa. Quwata illa biLlah there is no true power, apart from the power of Allah subhanho wa taala. Yes, we must strategize. We must plan, we must seek the means. But fundamentally, at the end of the day, it's not because of your

strategy is because of the will and mercy and power of Allah subhanho wa taala. Remember this. Remember, this is very important, because you don't want to give your strategy some kind of intrinsic power or ability. Because this is fundamentally not in line with our worldview. It's not in line with Tawheed, not in line with the Oneness of Allah subhanho wa taala. So from this perspective, rely on Allah alone, not your strategy. Yes, we have to seek the means but remember, the means can change. But Allah has power over all things. Remember, Allah is in control. And this is beautifully articulated in the Quran. In chapter 11, verses 8788 They asked sarcastically, oh,

charade, does your prayer command you that we should abandon what our forefathers worshipped? Or give up managing our wealth as we please, indeed, you are such a tolerant, sensible man. He said, all my people consider if I stand on a clear proof from my Lord, and He has blessed me with a good provision from him. I do not want to do what I am forbidding you

From, I only intend reform to the best of my ability, and this is the key point, my success comes only through ALLAH in him a trust, and to him, I turn. So brothers and sisters we should be like Che bella he Salam that we understand and affirm and internalize and actualize that success is only through Allah. And we must rely and trust in Allah Alone. So brothers and sisters, let me tie all of this together with an example. As you're aware, our vision at sequence Institute is a world that receives the message of Islam. And our strategic focus is the US as a team, we as a team, defend and share a sum academically and intellectually and significantly, we develop, create and empower others

to do so the same.

Now, this will involve Tao, a training, Dao to influentials, debates and dialogues, videos, essays, books, and research, and much more. So as you can see, these actions are derived from a strategic focus and we are focused on these actions because we believe they will necessarily lead to the fulfillment of our vision. Now, let me give you a prophetic example. And once again, brothers and sisters, we are inspired by the prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salam, because when you read his history, you will understand that he had a strategic focus, he had a focus. And what was that focus? Generally speaking, his main focus was to convey Islam, in other words, that there is no

deity worthy of worship except Allah. And that conveying of Islam was particularly being conveyed to the people of influence. In other words, the tribal leaders, and and this is very significant. He developed the Sahaba the companions to lead and spread Islam.

Now, chef here would be in his book Leadership Lessons from the life of Rasulullah sallallahu. It he was salam summarizes a key part of the Prophet sallallahu. It was a Lim's strategic focus, which is developing the sahaba.

He writes, no goal can be achieved by anyone alone. No matter how talented or powerful or wealthy that person may be the biggest challenge for any leader indeed the single factor, which can mean success, or failure of his mission, is his ability to inspire others to follow him and commit time, energy, wealth and talent for the achievement of his goal. The key to achieving this attention and commitment of people does not lie in paying money or granting favors, or making inspiring speeches, buying, showing how much you really love and care for your followers. And then he continues, a combination of picking the right people, setting a high personal example, and intensive hands on

training Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam created not one, but a set of leaders who were able to take his message forward long after he passed away. And this is so true brothers and sisters, and think about this. It's so inspiring. 80 years after the death of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam. Where were the Muslims? Where were we? We were in was born in Pakistan, and we were in Spain, spreading the peace, justice and mercy of Islam across the world. And what's very inspiring brothers and sisters, is how this played out in history. 80 years after the death of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam where were the Muslims? Where were we we were in Malta and in Pakistan,

and we were in Spain spreading the peace, justice and mess of Islam all around the world. But it was at two years after the death of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

that the Muslims decided to fix the Mosque of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam because it was leaking water. So to conclude, brothers and sisters, have a strategic focus, necessity achieves have a set of actions or domains of activity that will necessarily lead to the fulfillment of your vision. It's not just good having a vision having a goal. You need to have a plan of action, how to achieve your goal. Follow the prophetic way of having a strategic focus brothers and sisters.
