My brothers and sisters a beautiful Friday when hamdulillah also one of the days of show one. And so we are hoping that those who have intention to fast the six days of show will have either been able to do so or are able to continue on with their fast throughout this month of show one.

Today in sha Allah to Allah, I want to cover a topic that I know all of you have been wondering about. And all of you have been paying close attention to. or many of you have, in fact, and I also want to address this topic from the angle of our dean. And it is the topic of what we see happening in the world nowadays, right? with, you know, our

fellow human beings, right with our you know, brothers and sisters who are black that are being targeted around the world. I thought that and of course, this was a topic that many of you were expecting to hear from me last week. And there's a reason why I did not address it last week. To begin with my brothers and sisters. First of all, I never like to address topics as they are unfolding. And last week, things were still too fresh. Those of you who know me know that I like to research things a little bit more I like to be a little level headed when I'm responding. And I like to encourage us to, you know, look at things from all angles and not to simply just do what society

is doing and jump on. You know, whatever, whatever is trending.

Having said that, my brothers and sisters, that does not mean that there are no injustice is happening, no doubt there is injustice. And we may do an offer that last week for those of you who paid close attention. And those that were, you know, looking at what was being said and listening to everything that was being said, but just hearing but listening, paying attention to what was being said, you know, we continuously and always will make do out for for those that are being oppressed in every single region in every single part of the world, including those that are being oppressed, south of the border south of Canada in the United States. And then also kind of want to address as I said, in order to create something or to spread something of evil around the world, or within our locality or within our home or within our community. And so my brothers and sisters, when Allah subhana wa attendant says this, you know, we have to be careful of our actions, we have to be mindful of the type of people that we are, we have to be conscious and cautious, right, we have to be conscious know what we're doing and thinking, and using wisdom and hikmah. And cautious, be careful because anything we do anything we

say can have repercussions, there can be some sort of consequence to our actions. And so my brothers and sisters, this doesn't mean that when an injustice happens, Muslims will take a backseat and just sit down and do nothing. No, it means First of all, that Muslims will not contribute towards injustice. And that Muslims see that an injustice is something that is wrong, not only with a loss of Hannah Montana and how wrong According to him, it's a sin. But it is also something that does not spread goodness and does not sit well with society. It doesn't help society, nothing good comes from it. Someone who's who is, for example, walking down the street, and you know, someone throws something at them to stand up for justice and to say something bad about it, right to stop that person. And to stop the evil. That is, yeah, that is bringing life into it that is stopping the evil and bringing goodness into it. And in your message in the eye. It's as though that

person has brought life back into all of humanity. What do we see happening around the world, we look at what's happening in the United States.

And, you know, our

fellow human beings, blacks that are being targeted in many, many areas of the United States and around the world. It's not just in the United States around the world. And my brothers and sisters, I want to remind every single one of us that it's not just what we're seeing in the news, we have to fix our own selves, we have to fix our own actions. let's not let's not pretend that racism doesn't exist. Racism does exist, right? racism against the blacks, racism against, you know, all different kinds of races are all diff all different races, right? We see that that exists. And within our own communities, it happens and exists as well. How many times do you've come to me right here in

Milton? Right here in Milton, those of you who live in Milton, you should sit down and ask your children about this if your children go to high school, right? In particular High School, you should ask your children. Are you ever faced with racism at school? Do people ever treat you badly? Do people ever talk to you in a in an in a bad way? Do people ever call you names? Do people ever tell you to go back to your country? Do people ever do these things to you? You should speak to your youth because my brothers and sisters, I can tell you firsthand that we've had youth in our mustard,

right here in Milton, who have seen with tears in their eyes, because of the way that they've been treated at school, right here in Milton, that they've been treated badly. And they've been spoken to badly and they feel as though they don't belong on this earth. They feel as though they've been treated like second class citizens or they, you know should not be here and they don't belong. So my brothers and sisters, let's not pretend that this doesn't happen.

First of all, I know many people are saying, Oh Alhamdulillah we live in Canada. Racism exists in Canada. Some people say, Well, hamdullah we live in Milton, it doesn't exist here. It exists here and is very strong here. I can tell you that firsthand, right? Because Pamela, I deal with our youth, many of the youth, they go through hardships and difficulty, and they come and they tell me they're coming. They tell our mentors as well in the Waianae program that they've been, you know, targeted. And so my brothers and sisters, it is something that exists and we need to talk to our youth about it. We also need to understand my brothers and sisters how to deal with this, or how to

deal with it. And so if we're not able to physically change it, like you're not a judge, or you're not, you know, someone who is is an authoritative position, then there are there's another step, the Prophet sallallahu

alayhi wa sallam says that in them yesterday, if you're not able to physically change it, now a person might say I could physically change that within my home, right?

For example, for example, when it comes to racism, how many times does a young you know brother or sister come into my office or email me or message me, and says, You know what, I really want to get married to someone, but my parents say,

you can marry anyone except someone who's black.

You know, my brothers and sisters. First of all, anyone who says that racism doesn't exist within our communities and within the Muslim community,

you're wrong, completely wrong, it does exist, it may not exist within you. It may not exist within some of us. But it does exist, it's there. So let's not be fooled. And let's not just you know, call it something else. You know, so many of our young Muslims who are born and raised here in Canada, or maybe they weren't born here, but they were raised here, they went to school with with people of all different ethnicities. So when they grow up, we can't expect them to only marry someone from their village back home, or from the same the identical culture, the identical caste, or identical tribe, that they that their parents came from. Right. It's normal. And it's, it's, it's, in fact,

encouraged within Islam, to marry within different cultures, right to learn from each other, to bring that love of one another into our own lives as well. We see this in the example of the Prophet some among their either usnm right. And we also see it in the advice of his and within the Quran, to bring different cultures into our lives, how Allah Subhana Allah created us, you know, from different regions of the world, we all have different personalities, we all have different likes, we have different food lights, we have different clothing, lights, we have different language, you know, that we speak, and hamdulillah that's the beauty of this world. Right? It brings color into

it. A simple example. And I use this with our youth and I'll mention it today I use it with our youth. When we're talking about diversity, we're talking about different things. You know, how many of us want the latest tablet or the latest laptop or computer that has Retina display that gives you the actual colors or the closest we can never get actual right but the closest you know, display on our screens, to our actual eyes to our site and what our eyes see our eyes see so many different colors, so many different things, so many different shapes, so many different objects, so many different consistencies, consistency, you know, something that is that is liquid and something that

is solid and something that is tall and something that is short, our eyes see all these different dimensions. And as human beings we all want that. It's just within us that we are supposed to be people humans that look at one another and feel this is my brother, this is my sister.

And the profits on the long run either he will sell them he wouldn't just go and say okay, we need to get down.

to these people and not to those people, right the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he wouldn't be someone who would say, okay, we're only going to invite these people to Islam because these people are from this ethnicity or this culture, and we're not going to invite those people. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, you know, even mentioned that the Romans would embrace Islam, that people around the world right would follow this Deen and that, you know, people will come and believe in Mohammed Salah long that he was someone they never even met him. They never even met him. And so this beautiful Deen teaches us this, this religion, this faith of ours teaches us how to

break down barriers. And we can start by breaking down those barriers within us. Remember, I mentioned last week and the week before I believe in the law lady over euro Maria Coleman had your hero maybe unfussy him, Allah Subhana, Allah says that he does not change and will not change the condition the situation of a people until they change that with that, until they change what is within them. And so my brothers and sisters, the change begins within us. If we think, Oh, you know, racism doesn't exist? No, we have to look deep within us. Maybe that in itself is an element of us saying, you know, what, some kind of law, we just disregard it, you know, disregard what's happening, there are things and in justices that are happening around the world, we have to acknowledge it. We don't have to accept it. We're not accepting it. But we are acknowledging that, yes, this exists. And we need to change that from within us. Sometimes certain statements like oh, you know, don't become friends with these people. Right? Don't hang out with those people. You know, don't wear this, don't

do that. Don't go here. You know, sometimes we're giving a message to our children, where they start to put barriers and blocks within their minds in their hearts around you know, who they hang out with and what they do. Now, of course, we encourage goodness, right? We encourage goodness, wherever goodness is, we take the good, we leave the bat, right? And that doesn't mean that we should just put this blanket statement out there that every single human being is good. No, there are people that are doing that, no doubt. We look at the story of Calvin and Hobbes right, the children of Adam and Eve his setup, the very first human, you know, Adam and Eve, right? And then from them, their

children, right, one brother killed the other. One brother killed the other and an injustice was done, and the loss of habitat and mentions that in the Quran, and shows us that the person who did the injustice, right that person as we learned through the son of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam receives, you know, they started an injustice, they will receive a punishment for that injustice and for the in justices that happen after them. And so my brothers and sisters, when we look at this idea of the Quran, and we pay attention to the last half woman, yeah, half okay. inessa Jamia, whoever it gives life to human being to another human being it's as though they've given life

to the entire world, we have to stand up for injustices, right? But we have to do it in a way that is not going to harm others as well. We have to make sure that we are not going to harm other people. We're not going to harm society, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, even when they were on the battlefield, you know, when when when battles are taking place nowadays, and you look at the news, and you see how buildings are completely torn down, societies are completely destroyed. Agriculture is completely destroyed during the time of the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam, when the companions when they went out on in battles, right, they were told the rules of engagement, and

they are not even allowed to even in a battle nowadays, you know, countries will send a bomb and destroy everything. Look at what happened in Hiroshima, a bomb destroyed everything. Up until today, up until today, in some places where these nuclear bombs landed. There's there's no growth of agriculture, right? People human beings are not even allowed to go into those regions yet. Right. In some areas. Still, there's a lot of, you know, nuclear.

What do you call it vibes?

You know, it's very dangerous or radioactive.

Radiation activity happening, right? So there's a lot and some had a lot, you know, human beings can't even go there. Is that the way that we are taught to, you know, to dispute amongst each other in Islam? No, absolutely not. When the Sahaba the companions, if they were even in battle, they were told to respect each other, respect the houses of worship, right, do not destroy houses of worship, places of worship, even if it's a place of worship of other, you know, other faiths. Don't destroy it, because those are people who have reason, right? And those are places that have a link with people's hearts, and that can create an issue. We are told, you know, this however, the companions

were told don't destroy innocent people, women, children, right, don't harm them. The agriculture the trees,

plants, animals, homes don't don't touch that don't destroy things. Look after society. And so my brothers and sisters, when standing up for justice, we need to look after society as well. We should not be people that just let loose and say, Oh, you know what this is what's happening. So we don't care. No, we have to care. As human beings, we have to care. Because somewhere, if we destroy the society around us, then we are, we are contributing towards destroying the rest of the society that lives around that area. And so my brothers and sisters, we need to be very careful. Also the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as we mentioned in this Hadeeth, man, I mean, come on, come on, going

back to it, whoever sees an evil, right or an injustice happening, then they can change it physically, they should. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam says, but in the midst of it, if you're not able to change it physically,

then change it verbally say something about it. Say something about it, we live in a time where social media is sometimes it can be used to be an effective tool. And sometimes it can be used to be an effective tool, right? It can be positive and negative, it can be beneficial or not. And so my brothers and sisters, why not use social media? Why not use, you know, the email addresses that we have, send an email to your local politician, send an email to your local organizations that are helping others and contributing towards the spread of goodness, send an email to people who uphold just right, go and speak about it, talk to them in a civilized way. You know, if you're not able to

meet in person, then meet through, you know, some sort of video conferencing call, write or speak to them over the phone, do something. Don't just sit back and don't do anything. And then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says for Islam, yes, if you're not able to, if you're not able to, or you try it, and you're trying and you're trying, and there's no change that's coming from it

for 11 years, so the economy, then make that change within your heart, as in dislike what is happening around you, you know, there's a statement that's going around and I'm going to I'm going to take a bold stance here, people who are saying, if you don't say anything, then you're guilty yourself. I personally don't think that that is a good statement to be saying, because you're now contributing towards targeting and labeling everyone who may be doing something through an email or through some source or maybe making dua to Allah. The best, the best, you know, request is a request from Allah subhana wa adad you're making dua to Allah subhana wa tada you're waking up in the middle

of the night and making dua how many people are sending posts and forwarding things on social media and forgetting to turn to a lot ask a lot or law fix this situation in the world? How many people are you know putting putting things all over their their their Facebook and Instagram and whatever accounts out there that they failed to turn to a loss of handwritten and asked a lot a lot change the situation of our people change this situation for us make it better for us change within us what's what's found within us if we have any hatred within us if we have any ill feelings within us. Well please purify my heart. Yeah, my family will pollute some bits can be allergenic right and when

we say or love the one who can change the hearts, make my heart firm upon your deen we have to understand is one of my brothers and sisters. What that means is accepting what Allah Subhana Allah has legislated for us. accepting what a loss of hand with Hannah has legislated for us. And so when you know we see something that is wrong, we look at how Allah wants us to deal with this and we deal with it. And when we see something that we are supposed to do and promote that is good, and we do it for the sake of a loss of Hannibal attack. And we don't let the statements in the words of other people dictate how we live our lives. So the first thing my brothers and sisters we should be making

And Allah subhanho wa Taala will give you the strength to one day be able to say something about it, and we'll build you up into the person that one day we'll be able to do something about it. And the loss of hanworth Adda has the ability to grant strength and power and light to any one of his creation, Allah subhanho wa Taala can do that. Right.

So my brothers and sisters, you know, in justices are found everywhere. And I want to remind us all so Pamela, when it comes to our own community, when it comes to our own community here, not about what's happening in the world? What's happening in our own community over here, we have to look at this, my brothers and sisters and say, wait a second, within me, is there a problem? within my household? Is there a problem? And within my town? Is there a problem? Those of us who live in Milton, like I said, there is a problem, there is a problem, I can tell you that straight up. And I'm willing to discuss this with people, there is a problem of racism here within Milton. And look,

we see this problem everywhere, right? It's not that Oh, there's a major problem here. And we need to there's a problem. And we've been dealing with this problem. Right? Like some people reached out to me since since last week, people have been messaging me, how come you're not saying anything? How come you're not doing anything, we've been working behind the scenes for years, for years trying to trying to tackle this problem, right. And it's something that we will continue to do, right. But we don't need to be in the spotlight, we don't need to be saying, Oh, this is what we're doing. And that was what we're doing this No, my brothers and sisters, change comes gradual. A person who's

posting about something right now saying, Oh, we need to support this. You know, a lot of the time when we look deep down

within them this you know, the might be there might be something that they're still not happy with, they're still trying to change. So make that change gradual. Anytime we try to tackle something head on right away, we'll see that it's a little bit too hard to push that barrier over. So when you slowly try to chip away at it, try to chip away at it, then eventually you destroy all of that, you know, negative thing within you. Anyone who has a bad habit, this is what we usually encourage my brothers and sisters take it slow. I want to remind us as well, you know, in this, read this, Edie just passed something very powerful that we saw that happened right before all of this is something

extremely, extremely powerful that happened all over the world, especially here in North America.

And I noticed in social media, as well as people who were messaging me saying things about Africa, and about, you know, some of these countries within Africa, because there's poverty. And because, you know, because of the amount of poverty people are saying,

Oh, you know, what, there's lack of education and isn't it? And they were looking at the moon and all you know, they know it couldn't have been the moon or all you know what, what, what they saw was, was was the ending of the moon for Milan, it wasn't the new moon. My brothers and sisters, the moon has seen the moon to see us. Right. There's no need for us to debate it. There's no need for us to say Oh, that was in Africa. Not over here. Why? What's wrong with our African brothers and sisters? Nothing. Some of the nicest people on earth. Some of the most amazing people I've ever met. Some of the best trips I've ever made in my life. Were to some of these African countries. When you

arrive, everyone calls each other brother and sister. Everyone is a brother to another. They don't see color. It doesn't matter what color you are, what race you are. My brother, my sister, right? Everyone calls almost everyone calls each other brother and sister and those who are you know

They feel like we're human beings. And so my brothers and sisters, it's important for us to acknowledge as well, that maybe these problems are happening within our communities also, that you know, disregarding something that's seen in many countries across an entire continent, and to say, Oh, no, the moon wasn't seen. I'll tell you my brothers and sisters, I believed that the moon was seen over there, I have no no interest in debating with the other memes out there. You know, the other leaders, the other, you know, massage and board members and so on of various different massages that were saying, Oh, no, this and that, and so on and so forth. Whatever was seen was

seen, and we take you know, word from our brothers and sisters around the world, also being believers and a loss of habitat and giving a testimony that the moon was seen on us. Lucene, right?

To conclude, my brothers and sisters, and I think the message was delivered, I don't want to drag it on too long, because I have used up my 30 minutes. And just want to remind all of us of a few things. First of all, Hamdulillah, we do have our youth program that is continuing, are going to start up another semester from next week in sha Allah Tana, which is titled then and now. Okay, then and now. And we're going to look at certain regions of the world and Islam and the spread of Islam in some of those regions. So brother, I'm going to the same will be, you know, the teacher for Saturday, and I'm the teacher for Sunday, we're both in the sessions. But some have Allah he's going

to look at, he's going to be teaching the traditional side of things that then and I'm going to be teaching that now. And how Islam is now in some of these regions of the world, and also tie it into some of my travels, and what I've seen and showing some pictures to our youth, and maybe some videos as well, some of the architecture and some of the struggles that some of our Muslims are facing in different parts of the world as well.
