Welcome your brothers and sisters to our yearly Lecture Series this year Alhamdulillah in the south Wales Islamic center who are always so welcoming to every initiative that comes their way. So my gratitude goes firstly to Allah Jalla Jalla Allah who added to the Imam, the Dara, the Committee of the masjid who has given us this opportunity.
And for this year, we've chosen to call the lecture series, The Life series,
which is comprised of four lectures
starting at the bottom of the food chain, with the intention of working our way up to an ideal that we want to reach.
So the first lecture is titled
The gangster life.
Next week will be the empowered life.
The week after that will be the goodly life, I'll hire to play EBA
and then it will be the final talk which will be the final life.
And as a disclaimer, I should mention right from the outset, a apology in advance to our young brothers because I'm not intending to cause anyone any type of offence.
And it's very difficult to address a topic like this without offending someone or something. Whether a brother or a sister as you shall find out.
So if you find me using terms pronouns like you,
I'm not necessarily referring to you the brother who was sat in front of me in the masjid.
And again, a second apology goes out to our seniors who are sat amongst this, some of my teachers who are sat here as well. This is from your humility, and your tobacco that you sit in a topic and in front of a person speaking about this.
Everything in existence,
when you
cut it off from its source of life, it begins to die.
Whether you are speaking about an insect, an animal, a plant,
and it is certainly the case is well with the human heart. When you cut it off from its source of life, the Masjid vicar, Quran,
Muslim companionship, remembrance of Allah Salah tell that it also begins to die.
And that process of dying of the human heart can be so subtle and slow that we may not even notice it happening but those who love you who are close to you who see your degeneration, they say, your heart is dying.
For example,

there was a huge amount of guilt that was consuming him it didn't feel right, this just isn't me.
Then with the passage of time that guilt began to subside and lessen
until that guilt disappeared completely, it became normal.
Then you began to enjoy what you are doing, what you are pedaling what you are pushing out into the community how you were dancing before a camera, it became enjoyable, then it became a thrill then it became an ecstasy that you can't do without
then the heart continue to die until you are ready to kill through it.
But no matter how low you go,
one thing you are never willing to do is die upon that thing.
Because there is always that much is salaam that sits in your heart that says to you, this is not a hill I want to die upon.
And this is not a state I can meet Allah Jalla Jalla who in so you run.
So there you are roaming the streets singing Bugsy Malone if you live by the gun, you die by the gun.
But what happens is that the moment you find yourself looking down the barrel of a gun, and it's aimed at you when someone starts taking pops at you what happens you run
while you're running. Live by the gun die by the gun. No, that's fake.
In reality, you know you're not willing to die upon this. You can't meet Allah Jalla Jalla Allahu in that state.
If you've done
understood this. You have just understood why a lot of our brothers who should be here this afternoon are not here and they know exactly what we're speaking about. They run away from these topics that involve death, accountability, Bahasa looking into the mirror, understanding who you are, and then turning a new leaf with your Lord. They run from these topics why? Simple reason.
So they might even Abdul Malik, one of our predecessors, he asked a question to a scholar Abu hasm.

Your inheritance, the people you love. They will be the ones standing in front of your caucus in front of your coop saying take it off.
Take it off him nothing. It's ours now.
Take off the the Gucci belt take off the Montclair jacket take off the the AP and take off the PP take out the the iced out Rolex, all of it, all of it, take it off.
That's what that's us now. He goes down with nothing

Then your food runs out and now your mind starts eating you
Just thinking about your mother now who sat on the stairs crying, you start thinking about the siblings now who are left with no role model. You start thinking about this religion that you have betrayed. So you start running around now the prison looking for your Muslim chaplain to cry to him and say to him, how are they landed here? And when you find him, you hold his hand and you weep and you realize that to 1520 years of your young life has been wasted, you got nothing to talk to you about. This is self inflicted your brothers and sisters.
And here's the thing with death.
There you have you've been building this brand around your name.
Allah honored you with this name of Khalid Ali, or today in fact, he Shah, Mohammed Saeed, honorable names Allah gave you, you put them aside and you chose something smoke or something, dog or something, hustle. You spent years building a brand about this name around this name. What is interesting is that the moment you die, the very first thing that is forgotten about you is your name.
You've died
and you're in the masjid waiting for someone to wash your corpse. People come in looking for you. What do they say? Where's Muhammad?
Where's such and such smoke? hussle? No, they say where's the corpse?
In a juicer? Once the corpse they have forgotten your name? It's only been five minutes, your body's still warm. Your name is gone.

you know a lot of these people, why they behave the way they do, why they snort up crack, why they talk to themselves, why they inject why they tried to find their identity in the music industry why they do these things because they're broken inside.
A lot of them come from broken families.
They are lost.
What is the man like me going to do in this world? So they try to find some identity some pride in this.
You however, as a Muslim, Allah has given you answers, you know, this is the problem. You know, you know, the secret to success.
You know, the potion to happiness. It's this statement here. La ilaha illAllah. Muhammad Rasul Allah, Allah has given it to you free of charge. And instead of serving this religion to the people, you serve them a crack and you say, it's okay, because there are too far.
Who is more of a criminal in your eyes? I ask you.
Is it the average Tom, Dick and Harry who doesn't help ill people? He's no doctor, or is it the doctor who has the antidote, but he hides it from the people? Who is more of a criminal in your eyes? Who is more of a criminal, the one who has no money. So he looks past the Messiah King, the poor, or the one who has money. But then he looks over the poor people who is more of a criminal in your eyes.
And so in the same vein, I asked you who is more of a criminal in your eyes? Is it the calf ear? The non Muslim, the miskeen, who does not have answers to the happiness and secret to success in life? Or is it the Muslim like you? Yeah, Muhammad, Ali, Muhammad, Muhammad, you know,
and instead of pouring a beautiful picture for Islam, for the people who need it,
you hide it away.
And you chase after their lifestyle. So they say this religion can be from God.
This religion of Islam cannot be from God. It can't be divine. Why? Because if it was gonna work for me, it would have worked for you.
In min kimono theory, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said some of you turn people away from Islam. By the way.
This was the most powerful and aggressive hookah he gave Ali he's about to set up in his life.

the pure act of Salah that was a little bit longer than usual. What then someone who's
sweet swinging drugs, peddling crack into his community 1000s of people becoming Scaggs, and dough pads and knitties because of his product because of his food. What do you make of such a person?
And how severely has he turned people away from the religion of Allah, gender Jannatul? That is the question that you're going to have to take up with the Prophet Alayhi Salatu was Salam imagine his blessing and radiant face looking straight into your eyes on the day of reckoning. When he says to you in disappointment, and sadness and anger, he said, I bled over this religion.
And I lost family, and I lost friends and I lost my country. I lost my people for Islam. Why are you undoing everything that I did in my 23 years?
You weren't a good Muslim, you could have kept yourself to yourself. You went out and you showed the world Islam is not a solution through the product you put onto the fields.
That imagine yourself standing on the bridge of the slot, thinner than your hair and sharper than a blade. And this is a spirit that moves a spirit that speaks of rage that talks it has pincers, and knives and spears and blades and change and hooks.
And imagine your homeboys now crossing over, and they don't make it they fall into oblivion.

Some of us are turning people away from Islam.
We as Muslims are supposed to be picking people up from Kufa from disbelief from confusion from misery.
Why is it now that the Muslim has become a man who's roaming the street picking up cigarette butts because he's now gagging for another? Another rap.
People should be coming to our ends, the Muslim ends, looking for answers, looking for guidance, looking for knowledge, looking for information about this honorable Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, they should be coming to our ends looking for security. Now they come to our ends if they they're wearing riot gear, bulletproof jackets. Why? Because they fear for their lives.
What have we become?
You see brothers and sisters.

and turn to Allah and say autobuy I'm sorry.
And you are all aware of the man who killed 99 people. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us mass murder serial killer.
Yet he wanted to change his ways.
So he asked, Tell me about the most knowledgeable person in the community. They said this person over that he is a worshipper of God, or a scholar, though. So he goes to him. I killed 99 people. Can Allah forgive me? He said to him? Of course not.
So what did he do? He killed him. And now he's got 100 bodies on his name.
Now, let me just tell you something here, brothers before I proceed with the Hadith, you know, I know that a lot of you can relate to this part of the Hadith.
I know firsthand that some of you sat in this Masjid.
You searched for your identity somewhere on the road, because you couldn't find it in the masjid.
You came into the message as a young man with a bad reputation. And people looked at you like Angel of Death has just walked into the Masjid.
They started to whisper to one another talk about you create lies that perhaps did not represent you in full.
So you hated the message. You never came here. You said the heck with you all. I'll go and see my homeboys, they'll give me the attention I deserve.
This is what this man is experiencing. Why are you telling me Allah can't forgive me.

Do you see what he's saying? So long as you stay with the same crowd of people, you're going to go back to your old ways. Don't say I've got this stuff. I've got this because trust me, I've changed. You stay in that circle. You're going to go back to the circle. You stay with shelters, you're going to become a shelter again, because in the beginning, that's not what you wanted to become. You wanted to get businessman. You want to be a taxi driver. You want to be a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer, a bricklayer, it doesn't matter that it was the people who came around you and gave you ideas that you never harbored.
You
could be a runner.
You can be a cloud,
you can supply. You can make it one week what you'd make in a month.
So he said to him, leave your community, friends, brothers, who are your circle of friends, and take this as a rule from your older brother.

He hasn't done a good deed in his life, he's hours to go to hell. And so Allah sent a third angel in the form of a human being. And they said, will you judge? Will you help us settle this dispute? He said, Let me tell you what to do. Measure the distance between the two lions relative to this man
and the land that you find him nearer to the angels will take care.
Meanwhile, Allah, the Most Merciful, who Yakubu tell that in either way, if
he inspires the land of sin, to move away, overlay,
make him like sovereign.
And he inspires the land of righteousness to come here. So the land shrinks. And he says, no measure. And they find him nearer to the land of righteousness by one hands back, just about.
And so the angels of Mercy taking Allah wants to forgive you, doesn't take away from his kingdom to accept you. But make the step. That's number one. Number two, before I leave you with the third, go to your mother
and ask her to forgive you.
That woman will you have tortured.
That woman who would spend every morning sat until 3am. On the stairs, crying her eyes out looking at her phone waiting to see your name hoping to see you coming through the door. Then you come in at three 4am in the morning, and she's weeping. She's knackered because she hasn't slept. You say to her, what are you looking at? Why are you still awake?
Go on, give her some peace. And ask her to forgive you.
Who was the one writing you letters? When you were behind bars was in your homeboys? Who was the one paying for your court fees? That was your mom
who was the one who needed to sell her gold?
Because you messed up

Put your talents now to good use.
The people that you misguided find a way to bring them back.
Because if anything this drug industry has taught you and I that you have a brain
And that when you want to achieve something and you want to smuggle something into the country, you will do it in a very creative way.
