A hobby means that Allah is informed about everything.
This is kind of like his name and alim, the one who knows everything. But it's a little more specific than that. Because to be informed about something means that it's not something that just anybody can see directly. Right? This has to do with kind of hidden things, secret things. Maybe the reasons why you do things or don't do things.
Maybe the secrets that you have with your friends, maybe the things that deep down, you really, really want in your life a lot as a hobby. He knows all of these things.
And because Allah knows all of these things, it makes us good friends with Allah.
Isn't it true that you only tell your secrets to people who are very close to you?
And isn't it true that when you tell secrets to a friend, they kind of become a little bit more special. They become an even better and even closer friend, especially if they keep your secrets.
Well, a lot is like that friend, but even better. Because a law keeps all of our secrets. He knows everything that we really want, and he loves us. And He wants us to have what's good for us.
So you might think, Well, I've wanted this thing for a long time and Allah hasn't given it to me. That's not fair. Why didn't Allah give me what I wanted?
Well,
do your parents always give you everything that you want?
If you asked your parents, could I eat chocolate ice cream every night for dinner?
What would they say?
They would say no, you can't do that. Would they say that because they weren't being fair? Or because they wanted what was the best for you?
There's they would say that because they want what's best for you? Well, Allah subhanaw taala He gives us only what's best for us. We might want something so bad, but Allah loves us. And even though he's unhealthier and he knows that you want this thing so bad. He also knows that it's no good for you that something bad would happen or something hard would happen if you had that thing.
And so Allah withholds it. He's a goblin.
He withholds it from you, he makes sure that it stays away from you, to protect you, because He loves you.
Allah knows everything, your deepest secrets and everybody else. And he's going to hold us accountable and reward us after we return to him by what we really mean and what we really think. Deep down those secrets. That's a hobby. And that's all for tonight. I said I'm Monica.
