Welcome to our second gathering

00:00:28 --> 00:00:30

discussing the book

00:00:30 --> 00:00:31

Al Alam Al Hayib

00:00:32 --> 00:00:35

Fishar Al Kalim Abbayib. Of course the explanation

00:00:35 --> 00:00:37

is by Imam Badurdeen

00:00:37 --> 00:00:39

Al Ayni and the actual book is by

00:00:39 --> 00:00:40

Imam

00:00:40 --> 00:00:41

Ibnotaymiyyahurahi

00:00:42 --> 00:00:43

mohum Allahu ta'ala. Jami'an.

00:00:44 --> 00:00:46

And last time we stopped at the statement

00:00:46 --> 00:00:47

of the Imam, walhamdulillah,

00:00:48 --> 00:00:49

and he continues,

00:00:55 --> 00:00:57

which means praise be to Allah. We talked

00:00:57 --> 00:00:58

about Alhamd

00:00:58 --> 00:01:01

And peace be upon the servants of God

00:01:01 --> 00:01:02

who he has chosen.

00:01:03 --> 00:01:05

The servants of Allah here could be the

00:01:05 --> 00:01:07

prophets, could be their communities, or could all

00:01:07 --> 00:01:08

of them insha'Allah.

00:01:09 --> 00:01:11

As Allah who Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in

00:01:11 --> 00:01:11

the Quran,

00:01:17 --> 00:01:19

That indeed we have inherited the book,

00:01:20 --> 00:01:23

amongst our servants. Here meaning the followers of

00:01:23 --> 00:01:24

the prophets and the prophets.

00:01:28 --> 00:01:31

Are those who were chosen and purified and

00:01:31 --> 00:01:32

cleaned. Masha'Allah.

00:01:33 --> 00:01:36

So Allah who has chosen them. Allah

00:01:37 --> 00:01:38

has guided them and Allah

00:01:39 --> 00:01:40

has brought them in takhir.

00:01:40 --> 00:01:42

Now from there, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah,

00:01:43 --> 00:01:45

he mentions a number of verses of the

00:01:45 --> 00:01:47

Quran that we want to look at with

00:01:47 --> 00:01:48

some detail,

00:01:48 --> 00:01:50

because they will help explain

00:01:51 --> 00:01:52

the practices and applications

00:01:53 --> 00:01:56

related to supplicating Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,

00:01:56 --> 00:01:57

and remembering

00:01:58 --> 00:02:00

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. One of the mistakes

00:02:00 --> 00:02:01

I see people make

00:02:01 --> 00:02:04

is that they tend to go everywhere first

00:02:04 --> 00:02:06

but the Quran. I remember when I was

00:02:06 --> 00:02:08

in high school in Al Azhar in Egypt

00:02:08 --> 00:02:11

SubhanAllah. And we're taking inheritance law.

00:02:11 --> 00:02:14

And quite frankly, our teacher, he was okay.

00:02:15 --> 00:02:16

But he kept kind of going through these

00:02:16 --> 00:02:19

really kind of in-depth theories about inheritance and

00:02:19 --> 00:02:20

this and this.

00:02:20 --> 00:02:21

And finally,

00:02:22 --> 00:02:23

you know, we just said to him, can

00:02:23 --> 00:02:24

you just explain

00:02:25 --> 00:02:26

the verses in Sultanisa?

00:02:32 --> 00:02:33

They talk about

00:02:33 --> 00:02:34

inheritance.

00:02:34 --> 00:02:36

And he was like, why? Well like, because

00:02:36 --> 00:02:37

it's easier.

00:02:37 --> 00:02:40

So subhanAllah he actually refused. So what we

00:02:40 --> 00:02:42

did is a group of students came together,

00:02:42 --> 00:02:44

and we just studied the tafsir of ayatulakam

00:02:45 --> 00:02:47

of those verses and then ask other teachers

00:02:47 --> 00:02:49

and we aced the exam. It was all

00:02:49 --> 00:02:50

in the Quran SubhanAllah.

00:02:51 --> 00:02:53

So this is not just a mistake that

00:02:53 --> 00:02:55

people make. This is unfortunately a mistake. Right?

00:02:55 --> 00:02:56

Even some educators

00:02:57 --> 00:02:59

make. And oftentimes I find when people ask

00:02:59 --> 00:03:01

about duas, supplication,

00:03:01 --> 00:03:02

this and this.

00:03:02 --> 00:03:04

You know, if they were to reflect on

00:03:04 --> 00:03:05

the verses of the Quran,

00:03:06 --> 00:03:06

clearly,

00:03:10 --> 00:03:12

The Quran is a clear book.

00:03:13 --> 00:03:15

So, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah

00:03:15 --> 00:03:18

opens up the text with the Quran.

00:03:18 --> 00:03:21

And also to show the greatest dhikr

00:03:21 --> 00:03:22

is the Quran.

00:03:23 --> 00:03:25

Allahu Akbar. So we're gonna go through some

00:03:25 --> 00:03:26

of these verses explain

00:03:27 --> 00:03:29

them and show their applications and then we'll

00:03:29 --> 00:03:32

begin to start to look at the text

00:03:32 --> 00:03:32

insha'Allah.

00:03:34 --> 00:03:34

He

00:03:35 --> 00:03:37

says Allah the transcendent says

00:03:40 --> 00:03:40

And even though

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45

is not in the book, it is agreed

00:03:45 --> 00:03:46

upon by the Quran,

00:03:47 --> 00:03:48

the scholars of Quran,

00:03:48 --> 00:03:50

that we must recite a'uzbilahiminashaytanur

00:03:51 --> 00:03:53

regime outside of prayer.

00:03:54 --> 00:03:54

We the

00:03:57 --> 00:04:00

imam Shaa'atabi says in Herzl al Amani, whenever

00:04:00 --> 00:04:01

you want to read the Quran at any

00:04:01 --> 00:04:03

time at any place,

00:04:03 --> 00:04:05

you must you must say

00:04:10 --> 00:04:11

So you must say it.

00:04:13 --> 00:04:14

Out loud.

00:04:18 --> 00:04:19

And And of course, you don't have to

00:04:19 --> 00:04:20

keep saying it. If you say it once

00:04:20 --> 00:04:21

inshallah, it's sufficient.

00:04:22 --> 00:04:25

The first verse he mentions is from Surat

00:04:25 --> 00:04:26

Ahzab,

00:04:26 --> 00:04:26

the 33rd

00:04:27 --> 00:04:28

chapter of the Quran

00:04:29 --> 00:04:30

verse number 70

00:04:31 --> 00:04:32

and I believe 71.

00:04:33 --> 00:04:34

He says,

00:04:52 --> 00:04:53

Which means all believers

00:04:54 --> 00:04:56

be dutiful to Allah

00:04:56 --> 00:04:57

and speak

00:04:57 --> 00:04:58

Sadida.

00:04:59 --> 00:05:03

Sadida has a number of meanings. Imam Azamakhshari

00:05:06 --> 00:05:07

He explains them,

00:05:07 --> 00:05:09

very beautifully and he says

00:05:12 --> 00:05:13

You know,

00:05:14 --> 00:05:16

when you speak, speak in a way that

00:05:16 --> 00:05:17

seeks the truth.

00:05:18 --> 00:05:19

And of course, we have to understand the

00:05:19 --> 00:05:21

context of Shoto Al Ahab,

00:05:22 --> 00:05:22

the

00:05:23 --> 00:05:26

the fitna that came into the community by

00:05:26 --> 00:05:27

people who tried to start trouble

00:05:28 --> 00:05:29

around

00:05:29 --> 00:05:31

Zaynab and Zayd.

00:05:31 --> 00:05:33

So the context of the verse is, when

00:05:33 --> 00:05:34

you talk about people,

00:05:34 --> 00:05:35

speak the Haqq.

00:05:36 --> 00:05:37

Seek the truth.

00:05:38 --> 00:05:39

And he says, Was Sadeed,

00:05:39 --> 00:05:43

Imam al Maqshari and and Kashef he says,

00:05:45 --> 00:05:47

is to seek, you know, the truth.

00:05:49 --> 00:05:50

And to speak with justice.

00:05:52 --> 00:05:55

Here is that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is

00:05:55 --> 00:05:56

prohibiting them.

00:06:01 --> 00:06:03

That, you know, those people who went into

00:06:03 --> 00:06:06

negative and evil assumptions related to

00:06:06 --> 00:06:07

the marriage

00:06:08 --> 00:06:09

of Saydah Muhammad to Zainab

00:06:10 --> 00:06:12

and the divorce of Zaid of Zainab.

00:06:16 --> 00:06:19

Sheikh he says, and, you know, speaking truth,

00:06:20 --> 00:06:22

and speaking what's right is the foundation of

00:06:22 --> 00:06:23

all good.

00:06:26 --> 00:06:28

He said the meaning of the verse here.

00:06:33 --> 00:06:35

Be mindful of Allah

00:06:35 --> 00:06:36

in your speech.

00:06:37 --> 00:06:38

Be careful

00:06:39 --> 00:06:41

and be aware that Allah sees you. He's

00:06:41 --> 00:06:43

a Samiya. We talked about this

00:06:43 --> 00:06:47

in our chapters on Aqidah, under Sifat al

00:06:47 --> 00:06:47

Ma'ani.

00:06:47 --> 00:06:48

Right?

00:06:48 --> 00:06:52

Sami Samah. Wal Basar. Wal Kalam. Here's the

00:06:52 --> 00:06:52

application.

00:07:00 --> 00:07:02

So be mindful of God and how you

00:07:02 --> 00:07:03

speak and make sure that when you speak

00:07:03 --> 00:07:04

you speak the truth.

00:07:08 --> 00:07:09

And if you were to do that,

00:07:12 --> 00:07:14

If you were to do that, you would

00:07:14 --> 00:07:15

get the greatest,

00:07:17 --> 00:07:19

most longed for thing, of course. Which is

00:07:19 --> 00:07:21

that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will accept your

00:07:21 --> 00:07:22

hasanat.

00:07:22 --> 00:07:24

That Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will forgive you.

00:07:24 --> 00:07:25

That inshallah,

00:07:25 --> 00:07:27

you'll be from the people of Jannah.

00:07:28 --> 00:07:30

There is, and this is why Imam Ibn

00:07:30 --> 00:07:31

Taymiyyah puts this verse here.

00:07:32 --> 00:07:34

There's also an interpretation that

00:07:37 --> 00:07:38

that to speak

00:07:39 --> 00:07:40

a

00:07:40 --> 00:07:41

good word.

00:07:45 --> 00:07:46

And that's a strong opinion by the way.

00:07:47 --> 00:07:49

And of course, it could be both. Right?

00:07:49 --> 00:07:50

It it could possibly

00:07:51 --> 00:07:54

entertain all those meanings. We're very careful because

00:07:54 --> 00:07:56

we have an axiom that says,

00:08:03 --> 00:08:05

You should memorize this if you're a serious

00:08:05 --> 00:08:06

student.

00:08:13 --> 00:08:14

That regards

00:08:14 --> 00:08:17

to the verse is given to

00:08:18 --> 00:08:20

the generality of its meanings,

00:08:20 --> 00:08:23

not the specific reasons for it was sent.

00:08:24 --> 00:08:27

So here it could also be qaulan sadida

00:08:27 --> 00:08:30

isla ilaha illallah. So imam ibn Taymiyyah puts

00:08:30 --> 00:08:33

this here to show the importance of the

00:08:33 --> 00:08:35

remembrance of Allah. And also there's something there

00:08:35 --> 00:08:37

about adeb that we'll talk about in a

00:08:37 --> 00:08:38

second.

00:08:39 --> 00:08:41

The next verse, Masha'Allah hu Ta'ala,

00:08:42 --> 00:08:43

after that verse is

00:08:44 --> 00:08:44

Allahu

00:08:47 --> 00:08:48

in Sur Tawfatir

00:08:48 --> 00:08:51

verse number 10, he says Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:08:55 --> 00:08:58

That to Allah goes Al Karim Atayib.

00:08:59 --> 00:08:59

Good words.

00:09:03 --> 00:09:05

And that good deeds,

00:09:05 --> 00:09:07

that good deeds, right,

00:09:08 --> 00:09:10

that good deeds raise those words.

00:09:11 --> 00:09:12

Now

00:09:12 --> 00:09:14

if you pay attention and you think about

00:09:14 --> 00:09:14

it,

00:09:18 --> 00:09:21

Most ulama said kalim attayib is la ilaha

00:09:21 --> 00:09:23

illallah or the dhikr of Allah

00:09:23 --> 00:09:25

or any good words or dua.

00:09:34 --> 00:09:36

Very difficult situation, if you feel like you're

00:09:36 --> 00:09:36

a sinner,

00:09:38 --> 00:09:40

You know, anything like this.

00:09:43 --> 00:09:45

Masha'Allah. Those words will be lifted

00:09:46 --> 00:09:48

and raised in the heavens. Of course to

00:09:48 --> 00:09:50

Allah as a as a metaphor, meaning Allah

00:09:50 --> 00:09:52

will reward, Allah will accept, insha Allah. However,

00:09:52 --> 00:09:54

there is a condition.

00:09:58 --> 00:10:01

But it's the good deeds that actually

00:10:02 --> 00:10:04

raise those words to be accepted.

00:10:05 --> 00:10:07

So we see something here that

00:10:07 --> 00:10:10

the etiquette of dua and the etiquette of

00:10:10 --> 00:10:11

remembrance

00:10:12 --> 00:10:13

are found in these first two verses.

00:10:14 --> 00:10:15

Allah says,

00:10:17 --> 00:10:18

Ittaqollaha. Right? Fear Allah.

00:10:19 --> 00:10:19

Waquluqawlan

00:10:20 --> 00:10:21

sadida.

00:10:22 --> 00:10:24

And taqwa here means the intention,

00:10:24 --> 00:10:27

as well as the commitment to good, good

00:10:27 --> 00:10:30

deeds. So it's not just I'm saying something,

00:10:30 --> 00:10:32

or I'm making dhikr,

00:10:32 --> 00:10:33

and I'm not

00:10:34 --> 00:10:36

sincere in that, or following that up with

00:10:36 --> 00:10:37

good.

00:10:37 --> 00:10:40

So the etiquette of thikr and fikr is.

00:10:42 --> 00:10:43

Sincerity,

00:10:44 --> 00:10:44

remembrance

00:10:45 --> 00:10:45

coupled

00:10:46 --> 00:10:48

with good. They say,

00:10:51 --> 00:10:53

Right? Good deeds is like the tale that

00:10:53 --> 00:10:54

follows the remembrance of Allah

00:10:56 --> 00:10:58

And then, it lifts

00:10:59 --> 00:10:59

those good deeds.

00:11:00 --> 00:11:03

There's a few different qira'at actually of this

00:11:03 --> 00:11:04

verse, you know.

00:11:11 --> 00:11:13

So there's an interpretation that says

00:11:20 --> 00:11:23

Meaning that the rafi, the lift, what causes

00:11:23 --> 00:11:26

the Barakah to happen is the thikr and

00:11:26 --> 00:11:27

the is

00:11:27 --> 00:11:28

the Amal.

00:11:28 --> 00:11:30

But the strong opinion is that

00:11:31 --> 00:11:33

is the Amal and the Ikhlas

00:11:33 --> 00:11:36

and the Marfua, what's caused to be raised

00:11:36 --> 00:11:37

and accepted ultimately.

00:11:37 --> 00:11:38

Balahu

00:11:39 --> 00:11:41

is the good deeds.

00:11:41 --> 00:11:43

And that's why there's some narrations that actually

00:11:43 --> 00:11:46

mention that when someone remembers Allah,

00:11:46 --> 00:11:47

Allah

00:11:47 --> 00:11:49

puts that remembrance on hold.

00:11:50 --> 00:11:53

And make sure that that person, right, follows

00:11:53 --> 00:11:53

up

00:11:54 --> 00:11:57

that remembrance with good deeds, and then he

00:11:57 --> 00:11:58

accepts it Subhanahu wa ta'ala. One of the

00:11:58 --> 00:12:01

narrations he says, that the person didn't follow-up

00:12:01 --> 00:12:03

with good deeds so that that dhikr is

00:12:03 --> 00:12:04

rejected.

00:12:04 --> 00:12:06

Ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala,

00:12:07 --> 00:12:09

But what we gotta understand from these first

00:12:09 --> 00:12:11

two verses is, ittaqulaha

00:12:12 --> 00:12:12

is

00:12:13 --> 00:12:15

sincerity, a commitment to do good. And then

00:12:15 --> 00:12:16

qawl and sadeedah.

00:12:20 --> 00:12:22

Good words are raised to Allah by the

00:12:22 --> 00:12:23

malaika.

00:12:25 --> 00:12:26

And then the remembrance

00:12:27 --> 00:12:29

of that by good deeds

00:12:30 --> 00:12:32

and the completion of that by being dedicated

00:12:33 --> 00:12:35

and being a person of fidelity to the

00:12:35 --> 00:12:35

dhikr,

00:12:36 --> 00:12:38

right, is what brings their acceptance

00:12:38 --> 00:12:39

by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:12:40 --> 00:12:43

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in Suratul Baqarah

00:12:43 --> 00:12:44

verse number 152.

00:12:45 --> 00:12:45

Fadkuruni

00:12:46 --> 00:12:46

adkurukum

00:12:47 --> 00:12:49

Remember me, I will remember you. So, the

00:12:49 --> 00:12:51

first two verses deal with edeb.

00:12:52 --> 00:12:55

The etiquettes of Dua. Right, that I should

00:12:55 --> 00:12:57

be sincere. That I should follow-up the the

00:12:57 --> 00:12:59

And thikr. That I should be sincere. That

00:12:59 --> 00:13:01

I should follow-up the dua and thikr

00:13:02 --> 00:13:04

with good deeds and a commitment to do

00:13:04 --> 00:13:06

good. The second verse or the third verse

00:13:06 --> 00:13:09

excuse me, Surat Baqarah here verse 152,

00:13:09 --> 00:13:12

begins to talk about the virtues of dhikr.

00:13:12 --> 00:13:13

So Allah

00:13:13 --> 00:13:14

says, fathquroni

00:13:15 --> 00:13:15

adkurukum,

00:13:16 --> 00:13:19

remember me, I will remember you. The obvious

00:13:19 --> 00:13:20

of course is Fathkuroni

00:13:21 --> 00:13:23

Bizikri, like remembering me by remember, by saying

00:13:23 --> 00:13:26

my name or remembering me, Adkurkum, I will

00:13:26 --> 00:13:28

remember you. We know the famous Hadith, that

00:13:28 --> 00:13:30

someone will remember me privately, I will remember

00:13:30 --> 00:13:31

them in public.

00:13:32 --> 00:13:34

Subhanahu wa Ta'ala meaning in front of them.

00:13:34 --> 00:13:34

Other

00:13:35 --> 00:13:36

ulama said

00:13:38 --> 00:13:40

like remember Allah by obeying him

00:13:44 --> 00:13:46

and He will remember you by forgiving you.

00:13:46 --> 00:13:48

Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to forgive us.

00:13:49 --> 00:13:51

And then the next verse, Allahu Subhanahu Wa

00:13:51 --> 00:13:54

Ta'ala again in Surat Al Ahzab. It's interesting.

00:13:54 --> 00:13:56

Think about Surat Al Azzab, all the social

00:13:56 --> 00:13:58

challenges that are happening in this chapter.

00:13:58 --> 00:14:00

But this is also the chapter where the

00:14:00 --> 00:14:01

remembrance of Allah

00:14:02 --> 00:14:03

is is really,

00:14:03 --> 00:14:06

intensified. And the encouragement to remember Allah is

00:14:06 --> 00:14:08

if to say, one of the ways to

00:14:08 --> 00:14:08

escape

00:14:09 --> 00:14:11

some of these nasty ratchet social things

00:14:12 --> 00:14:14

is to remember God. Whether it's related to

00:14:14 --> 00:14:16

battle, whether it's related to family, whether it's

00:14:16 --> 00:14:17

related to community,

00:14:18 --> 00:14:18

Uthkurullah.

00:14:19 --> 00:14:21

So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the

00:14:21 --> 00:14:22

33rd chapter

00:14:23 --> 00:14:25

verse 41. He says, Uthkurullah.

00:14:26 --> 00:14:28

Remember Allah. And that's a command.

00:14:29 --> 00:14:30

Is a form.

00:14:30 --> 00:14:31

We say

00:14:33 --> 00:14:34

which means it is an obligation.

00:14:35 --> 00:14:37

But it doesn't stop there. It says,

00:14:40 --> 00:14:41

I can remember Allah abundantly.

00:14:43 --> 00:14:44

That's why

00:14:45 --> 00:14:47

ibn Abbas, he said every act of worship

00:14:47 --> 00:14:47

is Mu'aqat.

00:14:48 --> 00:14:49

Mu'payid

00:14:50 --> 00:14:52

is restricted to time and place and condition

00:14:52 --> 00:14:55

except the remembrance of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:14:55 --> 00:14:56

Then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:14:57 --> 00:14:59

in the next few verses that Imam Ibn

00:14:59 --> 00:15:02

Taymiyyah quotes these verses Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:15:02 --> 00:15:03

is going to explain to us what it

00:15:03 --> 00:15:04

means.

00:15:06 --> 00:15:07

Like what does that mean?

00:15:09 --> 00:15:11

So Allah says Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:15:11 --> 00:15:13

again in Surat Al Ahab,

00:15:17 --> 00:15:20

Those who remember Allah, male and females, abundantly.

00:15:21 --> 00:15:23

Of course the verse ends, Allah has promised

00:15:23 --> 00:15:24

him Jannah.

00:15:27 --> 00:15:30

So they are engaged in abundant dhikr.

00:15:30 --> 00:15:31

So

00:15:32 --> 00:15:34

some of the ulama, you know, we ask

00:15:34 --> 00:15:36

like what does that mean? And they said

00:15:36 --> 00:15:37

for example, someone who

00:15:42 --> 00:15:44

or are those people who after salah they

00:15:44 --> 00:15:45

make the afkar.

00:15:45 --> 00:15:47

Allah is soqareem subhanAllah.

00:15:48 --> 00:15:50

So they say 33, 33, 33, and then

00:15:50 --> 00:15:51

they finish,

00:15:58 --> 00:15:59

So this is a 100

00:16:00 --> 00:16:01

and they complete subhanah

00:16:02 --> 00:16:03

that they become from

00:16:06 --> 00:16:07

The next verse

00:16:07 --> 00:16:09

found in Surah Alimran

00:16:10 --> 00:16:11

verse

00:16:11 --> 00:16:11

191,

00:16:13 --> 00:16:15

Again, addresses a common question people ask.

00:16:16 --> 00:16:18

Can I make dhikr in this situation? Can

00:16:18 --> 00:16:19

I make dhikr in this situation? Can I

00:16:19 --> 00:16:21

make dhikr if I'm menstruating? Can I make

00:16:21 --> 00:16:23

zikr if I'm junub? So on and so

00:16:23 --> 00:16:25

forth. If I'm at work or Allah Subhanahu

00:16:25 --> 00:16:26

Wa Ta'ala

00:16:26 --> 00:16:27

says,

00:16:35 --> 00:16:37

Allah says those who remember Allah standing,

00:16:38 --> 00:16:38

yani,

00:16:39 --> 00:16:41

could mean prayer or could mean, you know,

00:16:41 --> 00:16:43

they're walking around remembering Allah and when they

00:16:43 --> 00:16:45

sit and when they lie down. Meaning

00:16:49 --> 00:16:51

In every situation they remember Allah Subhanahu Wa

00:16:51 --> 00:16:53

Ta'ala. And then, Imam Ibn Taymiy

00:16:54 --> 00:16:56

Taymiyyah mentioned some verses that show those different

00:16:56 --> 00:16:59

situations. So, one is when we're going through

00:16:59 --> 00:17:00

hardship and difficulties.

00:17:01 --> 00:17:01

Allah

00:17:02 --> 00:17:04

in the 8th chapter of the Quran verse

00:17:04 --> 00:17:05

45, he says

00:17:11 --> 00:17:13

When you meet your enemy on the battlefield,

00:17:14 --> 00:17:17

stay strong and remember Allah. I mean is

00:17:17 --> 00:17:18

there any more of an intense situation

00:17:19 --> 00:17:21

that doesn't compare to our job, dealing with

00:17:21 --> 00:17:24

kids, dealing with marriages, dealing with situations around

00:17:24 --> 00:17:24

us?

00:17:25 --> 00:17:25

Allah says,

00:17:27 --> 00:17:27

Stay

00:17:28 --> 00:17:28

down. Wadkurullahha

00:17:29 --> 00:17:29

Kathira.

00:17:30 --> 00:17:32

And remember Allah abundantly.

00:17:33 --> 00:17:34

La'ala kumtuflihon.

00:17:34 --> 00:17:36

You will be successful. So that's what we

00:17:36 --> 00:17:37

call Shid.

00:17:38 --> 00:17:38

In

00:17:39 --> 00:17:41

hardship and difficulties,

00:17:41 --> 00:17:43

remember Allah.

00:17:43 --> 00:17:45

Then he says the next verse

00:17:46 --> 00:17:48

quoting Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala Surat Baqarah verse

00:17:48 --> 00:17:49

200

00:17:49 --> 00:17:51

Fa'ida Qudayit

00:17:51 --> 00:17:52

manaseekah

00:17:52 --> 00:17:55

kum when you've completed the rites of Hajj,

00:17:55 --> 00:17:55

right?

00:17:56 --> 00:17:58

I've been on Hajj twice, alhamdulillah and I

00:17:58 --> 00:18:01

can say that when we complete Hajj, there's

00:18:01 --> 00:18:03

just such a sense of euphoria man.

00:18:04 --> 00:18:05

Such a sense of happiness and hope that

00:18:05 --> 00:18:07

Allah will accept it. And you feel like,

00:18:08 --> 00:18:10

you feel like, Subhan' like it's it's it's

00:18:10 --> 00:18:11

a party, man.

00:18:12 --> 00:18:13

But a

00:18:13 --> 00:18:14

pure beautiful party.

00:18:21 --> 00:18:23

After you've completed this worship,

00:18:24 --> 00:18:27

after you've completed the rites of Hajj, remember

00:18:27 --> 00:18:27

Allah

00:18:32 --> 00:18:34

Like and this is of course talking to

00:18:34 --> 00:18:35

one of the things that the Arabs used

00:18:35 --> 00:18:37

to do. They would remember, you know, their

00:18:37 --> 00:18:39

tribes and their lineages after Hajj and they

00:18:39 --> 00:18:41

would use this as a moment of fakhar,

00:18:41 --> 00:18:42

you know, to praise

00:18:42 --> 00:18:44

and and to show, you know,

00:18:45 --> 00:18:47

the pride in their tribes. But here instead

00:18:47 --> 00:18:48

of that,

00:18:48 --> 00:18:49

the Hajj

00:18:49 --> 00:18:51

as taught to us by Sayidina Muhammad as

00:18:51 --> 00:18:53

an extension of the divine teachings of Sayidina

00:18:53 --> 00:18:54

Ibrahim

00:18:54 --> 00:18:55

alayhim as salam

00:18:56 --> 00:18:58

Instead of remembering our families and our lineages,

00:18:59 --> 00:19:02

we remember Allah at a point of happiness

00:19:02 --> 00:19:02

and success.

00:19:04 --> 00:19:05

The third is when we're out busy in

00:19:05 --> 00:19:07

the dunya man, Al Mu'ashara.

00:19:08 --> 00:19:10

So the first is in hardship, with butu,

00:19:10 --> 00:19:12

with kurullah. The second when we're worshiping Allah,

00:19:12 --> 00:19:15

we experience happiness. Fa idhaqudaytum

00:19:15 --> 00:19:16

manaseekakum.

00:19:16 --> 00:19:18

And now the third is when we're out

00:19:19 --> 00:19:21

in our lives working and grinding Allah Subhanahu

00:19:21 --> 00:19:22

Wa Ta'ala says

00:19:31 --> 00:19:33

Those those men, it could be anybody of

00:19:33 --> 00:19:36

course, who do not allow their business and

00:19:36 --> 00:19:39

their sales to take them away from the

00:19:39 --> 00:19:40

remembrance of Allah.

00:19:40 --> 00:19:43

So even in those situations, right? Remembering Allah

00:19:43 --> 00:19:45

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, we know that there are

00:19:46 --> 00:19:46

beautiful

00:19:47 --> 00:19:49

hadith, and we'll talk about those perhaps in

00:19:49 --> 00:19:49

the future,

00:19:50 --> 00:19:52

that mention the virtues of remembering Allah in

00:19:52 --> 00:19:53

the market.

00:19:53 --> 00:19:55

And mentioning Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala on the

00:19:55 --> 00:19:56

way to the markets.

00:20:00 --> 00:20:01

They don't allow business

00:20:02 --> 00:20:03

and commerce to keep them away from the

00:20:03 --> 00:20:06

remembrance of Allah. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says

00:20:06 --> 00:20:07

in

00:20:17 --> 00:20:21

is from male. Lene yumilu anka. Because it's

00:20:21 --> 00:20:23

gonna leave you. Mil means to go like

00:20:23 --> 00:20:23

this, umilu.

00:20:24 --> 00:20:26

So, no matter how much wealth we have,

00:20:27 --> 00:20:28

No matter how much property we have

00:20:29 --> 00:20:29

amassed,

00:20:30 --> 00:20:32

it's gonna leave us. That's why it's called

00:20:32 --> 00:20:33

nal, subhanAllah.

00:20:33 --> 00:20:34

So it says,

00:20:39 --> 00:20:40

Don't let

00:20:41 --> 00:20:41

success

00:20:42 --> 00:20:42

through

00:20:43 --> 00:20:44

your wealth

00:20:44 --> 00:20:45

and your offspring

00:20:46 --> 00:20:47

take you away

00:20:48 --> 00:20:48

from

00:20:49 --> 00:20:50

the remembrance of Allah.

00:20:50 --> 00:20:53

Most ulama said here, the remembrance of Allah

00:20:53 --> 00:20:54

is a salah.

00:20:55 --> 00:20:57

But generally, any type of remembrance. But the

00:20:57 --> 00:20:58

point is,

00:20:58 --> 00:21:00

moments of,

00:21:01 --> 00:21:03

professional professional and personal success.

00:21:04 --> 00:21:06

So again, let's go back.

00:21:06 --> 00:21:07

Hardship,

00:21:08 --> 00:21:09

happiness through worship,

00:21:10 --> 00:21:10

commerce,

00:21:11 --> 00:21:12

personal success

00:21:13 --> 00:21:15

through family and wealth, should not take us

00:21:15 --> 00:21:17

away from Allah's remembrance.

00:21:18 --> 00:21:20

And then, something else about all those, those

00:21:20 --> 00:21:22

tend to happen in public. Right? Those are

00:21:22 --> 00:21:25

public acts or within our families.

00:21:25 --> 00:21:27

So the last verse that he mentions,

00:21:28 --> 00:21:30

which is found in Surat Aaraf

00:21:30 --> 00:21:31

verse 205.

00:21:32 --> 00:21:33

He says,

00:21:35 --> 00:21:36

Remember Allah when

00:21:37 --> 00:21:39

you're alone. So we went from like,

00:21:40 --> 00:21:43

public moments of worship and expression and engaging

00:21:43 --> 00:21:45

public sphere, hardship,

00:21:46 --> 00:21:46

worship,

00:21:47 --> 00:21:50

professional success, personal success, now when you're by

00:21:50 --> 00:21:50

yourself.

00:21:51 --> 00:21:51

Wadqurabakafi

00:21:52 --> 00:21:53

nafsik.

00:21:54 --> 00:21:56

Remember your Lord when you're alone. Tadavruaan

00:21:57 --> 00:21:59

in a state of humility.

00:22:00 --> 00:22:00

Wakhifa

00:22:01 --> 00:22:02

in a state of awe.

00:22:03 --> 00:22:04

Wadun aljeri

00:22:04 --> 00:22:05

mina'qawli.

00:22:06 --> 00:22:08

You don't have to be loud. Don't be

00:22:08 --> 00:22:08

too loud.

00:22:09 --> 00:22:10

Bilo, rudu wiwalaasal.

00:22:11 --> 00:22:13

In the in the in the morning

00:22:14 --> 00:22:15

and in the evenings.

00:22:18 --> 00:22:19

And don't be from those who are negligent.

00:22:20 --> 00:22:22

Some of the Alama said that the idea

00:22:22 --> 00:22:24

of Bilhudu wati walasal

00:22:24 --> 00:22:25

this is what it means

00:22:28 --> 00:22:30

Those who remember Allah abundantly are those who

00:22:30 --> 00:22:31

engage in those adkar

00:22:31 --> 00:22:33

those dhikrs that we're going to learn inshaAllah

00:22:33 --> 00:22:34

in this course together

00:22:35 --> 00:22:37

in the morning, in the evening. Let's quickly

00:22:37 --> 00:22:40

go back because we covered a lot, masha'Allah,

00:22:40 --> 00:22:41

through these verses.

00:22:42 --> 00:22:44

The first part talks about

00:22:44 --> 00:22:47

the ingredients of du'a.

00:22:47 --> 00:22:50

That is taqwa. Right? Sincerity, a commitment to

00:22:50 --> 00:22:51

live in dhikr.

00:22:52 --> 00:22:52

To live

00:22:53 --> 00:22:55

and be sincere in what I'm saying and

00:22:55 --> 00:22:56

what I'm praying for.

00:22:57 --> 00:22:57

Right?

00:23:02 --> 00:23:03

The next

00:23:05 --> 00:23:06

right?

00:23:06 --> 00:23:08

Dhikr is raised,

00:23:08 --> 00:23:09

right? It's lifted

00:23:10 --> 00:23:10

walamarosarihu

00:23:11 --> 00:23:11

yarfa'u

00:23:12 --> 00:23:15

but following up that Dhikr and Dua

00:23:15 --> 00:23:17

with Al Amaru al Sarih

00:23:17 --> 00:23:20

will bring it to it being accepted insha'Allah.

00:23:25 --> 00:23:26

Of course, and it's interesting like this is

00:23:26 --> 00:23:28

really the only fadlu he mentions as if

00:23:28 --> 00:23:30

to to say like that in itself is

00:23:30 --> 00:23:32

sufficient as a virtue.

00:23:32 --> 00:23:34

Just like knowing that Allah remembers you, Khalaas,

00:23:34 --> 00:23:36

what else do you need? Fadquruni

00:23:36 --> 00:23:39

afkurukum, remember me, I will remember you.

00:23:40 --> 00:23:41

And then Allah

00:23:41 --> 00:23:43

says, Uthqurullah Hazikurang

00:23:43 --> 00:23:44

kathiyura

00:23:44 --> 00:23:47

like remember Allah, remember him abundantly.

00:23:47 --> 00:23:48

And then

00:23:49 --> 00:23:52

he explains through other verses, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah,

00:23:52 --> 00:23:54

he eludes to what that means. So, sotaali

00:23:54 --> 00:23:55

Imran

00:24:00 --> 00:24:03

Those who remember Allah standing, sitting and lying

00:24:03 --> 00:24:04

down meaning in all situations.

00:24:05 --> 00:24:06

I remember subhanAllah, one of my teachers from

00:24:06 --> 00:24:07

Morocco.

00:24:07 --> 00:24:08

He had a Sheikh.

00:24:09 --> 00:24:10

This Sheikh was quadriplegic

00:24:11 --> 00:24:12

in his old age and he used to

00:24:12 --> 00:24:15

say Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.

00:24:16 --> 00:24:17

And people, they said to him, man, why

00:24:17 --> 00:24:19

you always saying Alhamdulillah? You can't walk. You

00:24:19 --> 00:24:22

can't do anything anymore. He said Alhamdulillah.

00:24:22 --> 00:24:23

I can say Alhamdulillah.

00:24:24 --> 00:24:26

Allahu Akbar. Masha'Allah. Alhamdulillah,

00:24:27 --> 00:24:28

I can say Alhamdulillah.

00:24:30 --> 00:24:32

And then of course in difficulties,

00:24:33 --> 00:24:33

idhaalakheetumfi'ah

00:24:34 --> 00:24:36

when you meet an army, a squadron

00:24:37 --> 00:24:38

Fathbuthu

00:24:38 --> 00:24:40

stay strong. Wathkurullahha

00:24:40 --> 00:24:41

Kathira

00:24:41 --> 00:24:42

Remember Allah abundantly.

00:24:43 --> 00:24:45

And then in good times Faiza Qudayitum

00:24:46 --> 00:24:46

mana

00:24:48 --> 00:24:50

When you have completed the rites of Hajj,

00:24:51 --> 00:24:53

like remember Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala as you

00:24:53 --> 00:24:55

remember your fathers. Right? And we talked about

00:24:55 --> 00:24:58

what that means. And then of course professional

00:24:58 --> 00:24:58

success

00:24:59 --> 00:25:01

and agency should not be used as an

00:25:01 --> 00:25:04

excuse to take us away from Allah's remembrance.

00:25:09 --> 00:25:12

Right? Business and commerce don't take them from

00:25:12 --> 00:25:15

Allah. And then personal success through the accumulation

00:25:15 --> 00:25:16

of wealth

00:25:16 --> 00:25:17

and the blessing of offspring.

00:25:18 --> 00:25:19

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,

00:25:24 --> 00:25:26

Don't allow your children and your wealth to

00:25:26 --> 00:25:28

take you away from Allah's remembrance. And then

00:25:28 --> 00:25:28

finally,

00:25:29 --> 00:25:31

the private moments of

00:25:31 --> 00:25:33

devotion and the etiquettes

00:25:33 --> 00:25:34

therein

00:25:34 --> 00:25:35

was called Rubbakafi

00:25:36 --> 00:25:36

nafsik.

00:25:37 --> 00:25:39

Remember a Lord Your Lord alone? And and

00:25:39 --> 00:25:43

that's considered actually mustahab generally because it's farther

00:25:43 --> 00:25:44

away from riya.

00:25:45 --> 00:25:46

It's farther away from showing off.

00:25:49 --> 00:25:51

Out of sincere devotion and humility.

00:25:54 --> 00:25:56

And don't be too loud.

00:26:00 --> 00:26:02

In the morning and the evening and don't

00:26:02 --> 00:26:04

be negligent. We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:26:04 --> 00:26:06

to bless us insha Allah. Next time we'll

00:26:06 --> 00:26:09

mention a few ahadith of the Prophet, Sallallahu

00:26:09 --> 00:26:12

Alaihi Wasallam, about the virtues of dhikr and

00:26:12 --> 00:26:13

dua. And then we will start,

00:26:14 --> 00:26:16

insha'Allah, to go over some of those important

00:26:16 --> 00:26:18

adaiyah and adkar

00:26:18 --> 00:26:20

taught to us by Sayna Muhammad sallallahu alaihi

00:26:20 --> 00:26:22

salam. As salamu alaykum, Muhammadullah.
