Honestly, kind of educational but refutation of videos. So like,
instead of, you know, making kind of videos on topics, like you
know,
Mo are evil and stuff like that. It's more so kind of educational
based, you know, going into the books going into what is being
said, explaining topics, things like that. So and is it mainly
Arcada related? off either related? Yeah, I kind of grew love
for Rokita since I came to Turkey, since I've been studying here
since year one, year two and year three Aki has just been something
that I love going into I love reading about and stuff like that.
So well, the so the Syrian scholars are the Arbab of Akita.
They're the leaders in the study of Aikido when you study with a
Syrian, He will set you straight you will not
Be you'll be like an LF, right? You'll be set straight and there
will be no playing around. And the Syrian scholars are now a lot of
them are in Turkey and the only real way to safely study with them
is in Turkey. So tell me Sheikh Hamza Becky, is there in Turkey?
Do you study with him? I don't, I had an opportunity to in, in my
first actually after my first year, but I spoke to the head
shake of my school and he basically advised me to stick with
the program that I'm in right now. And then after I graduate, then go
and study like individually with different scholars. So instead of
going individually with Sheikh Hamza, Bacary,
I'm with that, when you're with a program you want to focus, right?
And the level of focus was so much that when in with Morava, tanhaji
has the same philosophy, but in what, but it's a little bit
different, because they only studied like one book at a time.

like one or two books at a time. So when someone asked him for a

situation where a lot of people who go study in Turkey, sort of
don't come back? Right? And they stay for, you know, another
program than another program, then they get a job there? And then it
seems like there's a lot of students there. But we haven't yet
seen the trickle back of those students. Yes, like, even even one
of my classmates, he's about 27 years old right now. And you know,
he's kind of he's kind of old, he still has three years left to go
before he, before he graduates two years left, actually. But he I
asked him what his plan is afterwards, if you're gonna go
back to he's from the UK. And he said that his plan is actually to
stay in Turkey, and to continue studying and to sit for multiple
more years. And I was just like, you know, when are you going to go
back and teach and spread, you know, what you learned and
everything. But it seems like from the people that I know, their plan
is to do that, like way kind of later. I don't know why, though.
My plan is to do it. Sorry. My plan is to you know, after I
finish graduate from this school, I plan to have two years
afterwards in you know, with with sitting down with different
scholars from different places of the world. And then I want to go
back and start my start working. That's very good. I really think
people have to come back otherwise there's no Where's there. The the
baraka of one studies, is the men fat to others, right, that they
bring to others. And it doesn't negate that someone could do a lot
have men fall by writing books?
Or making videos? Books today? Yeah, it's beneficial. The
readership of the world is not that high, though, we have to
admit a lot of people love to buy the books, love to have the book,
but how much how many people are actually reading through the book.
And I would say that most people read through a book, maybe as a
reference, let me buy this. And maybe once or twice in his life,
from that point on, we'll, we'll look up something in the book.
Okay. So I find that to be an issue, but an issue and the one of
the reasons I think, is that, if there's nothing lined up for you
to go back home for, then most people don't go back, right?
Because there's nothing lined up for them, they're gonna go, and
they're gonna have to start from scratch. In an industry that
doesn't exist.
It's not like we're both dads back in the day, where fop shows up,
there's going to be a position for him, right? Or, like the scholars
arrived at Turkey. And immediately, there were many, many
people willing, happily, to put them up in a masthead or something
like that, or hire them for a school or something like that, or
that will have many students waiting for him. So when a student
of knowledge goes studies, and he comes back, the level of interest
in the field is so disparate, that it could very easily just just
depress somebody and dissuade them. When somebody comes and does
Dow in the United States or the UK,
I would guarantee you that in the beginning 90% of a person's
efforts will be to create interest in Dean forgetting Him.
When you go to the local if you go to a community, okay, on the men

students and knowledge get sort of ready for that? And prepared for
that?
That's interesting, because I was just going to ask you what your
advice would be, yeah, for a student of knowledge, considering
that I am a student, and I'm gonna go back and probably face that.
Yeah. From what I see. Like, you know, in my community, for
example, when I go back in the summers, we could, you know, have
have a masjid that's nearby my house, but it's just like, new
newly opened and there's not, there's not too many people that
go. So I when in the summer, when I went back about two years ago, I
held an Akita kind of seminar thing where I broke down, you
know, the basics that we, we believe as Muslims, and it had had
quite a big turnout. But there was it wasn't it wasn't full of kind
of youth, it was more so you know, elder people that came from the
community. So
getting the youth to come to the masjid, and to want to learn
something, that's it is going to be a challenge. And, you know, I
feel like there I feel like the effort has to be full time. If you
want to get that done. Like if I wanted to get that, you know,
start a community of young people. I feel like the effort has to be
full time. It can't be something where I'm like, part time in the
masjid part time doing something else. Yeah. But it's a challenge,
you're gonna have to face it. So it's almost like you being in a
nice, beautiful, warm,
hot tub. But the work that you're going to be doing is actually in a
very salty and cold ocean and Sandy and nasty ocean. So the only
way to actually do this
is to keep going back and forth. So you study for let's say, nine
or 10 months, then come back maybe in Ramadan or something. Show
Shaban Ramadan show well, and just be with Gemma and the try to
take one kid out to dinner, take 234 kids out to dinner, go hang
out. Right. And by doing just by hanging out that kind of samba.
You start to get their mindset rather than coming in being
someone who inserts his agenda right away. You need to know what
you're inserting into, right, right. So your form of study will
be, what kind of mindset do they have? How am I going to know?
Hanging out? Like if I could some kids your age, some kids a little
younger, mixed, mixed up, and they go hang out, right? If they're
already hanging out, then you go with them and hang out and just
observe, see where their wavelength is? See where their
mindset is, right? Before you ever try to insert into a plug, I got
to know is this a French plug? This is a Saudi is this you
American, I need to know what the outlet is. Good. And then you're
going to learn to put an adapter
and Hebei are very, very keen on this. The batteries of Yemen are
more keen on this than the odema of Hashem, the Hebei of of Yemen
while you're a student, every once in a while, maybe twice a year,
three times a year, you'll pack up and you'll spend a weekend in a
different tribe with a different tribe. These tribes have no
interest, except the general interest of the Dean if that. So
they're going there. And they're doing preaching such as they're
doing wild. So you have to separate between a lion wild
I will miss out and we know it. But wild is to what creates
interest in a person. Story of Satan. Nemo is a story of Satan a

other plan. Right? We can't say there's nothing invalid about
that. You need scholars, you need scholars who only do scholarship.
But I would venture to say that in the United States, we're not
totally ready for that.
You won't have the students,
you have to create the interest. I noticed a lot a lot of the stuff
that we're studying like is when it gets to like more advanced
stuff. I'm just thinking to myself, like back in back in
America, like how would I even how would I even teach this type of
stuff? It's to, like it's to it has to be to somebody who really
wants to learn this specific thing. Yeah, as opposed to just
getting, you know, a closer relationship to the dean or
something. Exactly. And, and oftentimes one of the pitfalls
that
the amendment had alluded to, or but to say it in specific terms is
that the repetition of the curriculum is not the goal
of somebody when they get back to the to the community. What I mean
by that, is that getting through the curriculum that you study on,
that's not necessarily the goal, right? That's not the goal of it
when a person goes back, that's part of it, maybe, but it's not
the sole goal. Some people will just need a lifeboat
or a life vest. And some people if they just hanging around the
automat. Right, it suffices them. So we have to think of that.
That's the middle class of the of Muslims forever. The oil Lemma and
also love LM is only a small tobacco at the top, like, one 1%
Maybe, right? And then those who are in the middle, they just
staying afloat. That's also the job of the item is to make a sort
of world for them where they could just stay afloat. They show up to
the masjid two, three times a week to your gatherings. Right. And

about your community in Orlando. It's a new community there. It's
so there's obviously there's different parts of Orlando like so
we're in we're in a kind of newly developed area, it was all full of
like, land and stuff. So they're just now newly developing it and
making new houses and everything. So a lot of Muslims kind of moved
to that area. We were you know, we moved to that area as well. And so
the Muslims kind of, we kind of like gathered together and put,
you know, money towards buying a property. And so we turned it into
kind of a masjid. We decorated the inside made it look it was
House, but we built it to make it look like it's a little Masjid. So
everyone comes over over the last, you know, at the beginning there
was not too many people. But since I went back last year, in the
summer there was, you know, the masjid, the inside of it got
completely full to the point where people are praying outside for
Jamar Salah. So it got you know, it's getting a lot of people more
people are moving. So it's growing and Sharla when you go back there,
are you the tip? I am not? Yes, I was. It's because throughout the
year, they have kind of people sign up. It's there's no Imam. So
it's like, you know, okay, I'll do the football do the type of thing.
So the weeks that I came back, people have already signed up. So
I just didn't,
that's good. So but it's good to be part of a community where
that's young and small.
Because if they're friendly with you, and you're friends with them,
and that the way it's structured has potential, then you're sort of
getting it on the ground level. And eventually, you could help
them build it up and be more influential there. As opposed to
coming. Yeah, coming to a fully erected structure, where it may be
hard to be influential there. Yeah, I noticed some, like some
scholars that I know, they, you know, graduated after having like,
a lot of a lot of studies, they studied for maybe eight years, 10
years, they come back they come to an already like really established
Masjid. But then, you know, the board members of the masjid, you
know, they, they kind of don't listen to the email on certain
things. So they'll do certain things that might be you know,
have difference of opinion, or something like that. And the email
doesn't agree with it. So it's led to, you know, problems between the
Imams and the boards, to the point where some Imams, you know, move
these graduates of programs, they've left the masjid, without
an email and stuff like that. So I think, you know, that is something
very important if there's a newly developed a new community that's
being developed to try and get in. That's, that's the key. If you're
friendly with them, and you your family knows them and they know
your family, then they'll let you in. It's like a mafia almost
because new masajid operate like that. Right? And masajid do have a
massive, there's a massive crisis in governance. In the United
States, I can't tell you how many to Labelle more than qualified to
be even
Imam that could be the leader, they could teach, I could do
everything. But the governance structure, disallows them from not
even growing, just surviving,
that he just got smacked around, in terms of his opinion, his
opinions, just like, if it's matches us good, but don't get too
much influence. If it doesn't match us, then we smack you out.
Right. And you we kick you out, and we you know, have no respect
for you for your opinion. And as a result, you have all these these
these students of knowledge just leaving, right they they don't
they can't serve in these masajid we actually have a crisis. But
what I'll tell you the best thing that a person can have
is a functioning Masjid that incense in the sense of respecting
scholarship. Right? If a masjid has that, I'll tell you why the
masjid is the best things because it's the first place people go to.
Right when a when a convert or person with a questions. They're
not going to type in Islamic Sacred Knowledge Institute on
Google. They don't know what that is. Those Institute's are closed,
except for the people who know about it. What they're going to
type in is local mosque, right? And they're going to walk to that
local Masjid. So the foot traffic that you get in a local masjid, if
it can be combined with a madrasa in some way, shape and form at
least in the beginning, or always even partially, right? Like
there's classes in the masjid in those classes in a special
building, because there's just overflow, right? I cannot tell
you, how much Baraka how much increase in the success of the DAO
happens because you're in a public mosque. Also you have Joomla, you
have Tada, we have these are places where the IOM and nurse and
the children and the youth are influenced. That's where they go,
the common folk, the youth, they're not going to institute
XYZ, right? Yeah. There is no place. There's no for them to do
their. Right, right. But when those kids are coming to use the
gym, to pray, tada, we're all the families come in for Jamar, et
cetera.
You're talking to the community there. And that's the benefit of
were the fusion of the madrasa and the Jama
you know, yeah. In Turkey now. Explain to us how many subjects
you're studying at daata foon big or mad? You because I know that
shift now that is unique in this regard? Yeah, so we have 17 Oh,

If you count them as three, it's about I think 19. It totals about
two. So we have 17 subjects we cycle through every single week.

So we have seven hours everyday that we're going and sitting with
the teachers. we cycle through 17 subjects every single week. So
they're the each class has a period of 45 minutes long. So we
have about seven classes every day. And
yeah, so we just cycle through every single week, about 40 hours.
How many days did you say seven? Is their homework and examinations
for all the subjects? Yes. So final exams? Not all? No, no,
there's exams for all of them not homework for all of them. So like
some of them will you know one class is strictly memorizing
poetry, for example, like Olivia had been Malik. We're doing that
for memorization. The other one for Quran for example, we're
memorizing and reciting to our and we have to do with these types of
classes, like we have exams in them, but there's not necessarily
homework involved. Besides the memorization.
Other classes, like our Arabic grammar classes now hosts a lot of
Bulava, those things.
There's, there's kind of quite a bit of homework involved. As those
who are asking about going to study in Turkey, talk to us about
the visa situation. How did you get a visa to stay there? Very, I
got very, very lucky when I first came here. They accepted my visa
but after the people that I know who have come and they've applied
like a lot of the people in our in our school now and a lot of the
people from last year they applied and everything seems to be getting
rejected and there's there's a lot of people that you know, had to
they got rejected for the visa situation and they've had to
actually leave. So like our school, my class we started off
this year, I think with about 21 people and right now we're down to
15 Well, they just expel people like that. They don't expel people
no but the you know, the students basically illegal so they end up
leaving so going back to that they have to they're like kind of
forced to leave so and then and then just recently they they've
increased security on the streets. They've made it very very crazy.
To where you can't even go into like the big the big Masjid Masjid
in fact
that's in the center that a lot of people go to they put police at
the at the front door and they're checking people's visas just to go
to the masjid. Well, it's like if you're not if you're not legally
you can't go and pray Jama for example. You can't go to the
masjid to you know, just to pray regular prayers in the streets.
You know my where I'm living and my school. There's only about two
streets that separate us but in those two streets, there's just
cops like everywhere. Stop random people say Show us your passport,
show us your visa stuff like that. So it's a very not a good
situation to be in right now for for new visas and new students.
But they always they're saying Inshallah, things get better. And
they're saying it's the elections right now. They don't want illegal
people to kind of vote or get into the system or things like this.
So, sha Allah gets better soon. But are the illegals mostly
like they're for city studies? not know. So there's a lot of people
that are illegal. We see like, you'll see people just on the
street, you'll just see people get taken in the back of a police car,
for example. And they just you know, all the time people are just
getting taken. So but they say that the the majority of the legal
people they're from you know, they're kind of migrating because
of the situation back in their country as a mainly Syria coming
to study mainly Syria. Yes. Okay. So there's
sorry, employment illegals for employment, essentially.
Basically. Good good. Yeah. Um, law martial law. What they do is
they'll take they'll take you
The procedures that they take a person who's illegal, they put
them in the back of a police car, they round them all up in this big
bus. And in the bus, they take them to a jail where they stay in
there until the the police or whatever, the authorities go
through everybody's visa and see if they have it. Or if it's, you
know, if they had something in the pasture, see what their situation
is. And then anyone who's actually they established that they're
properly they're actually illegal. They send them on a plane, and
they dropped them off in Idlib. And they just fly back and that's
it. So, okay, so Subhanallah Alright, so
in terms of the studies in in,
in Turkey in this mouth, how many years? Did you say it was? It's a
five year total program, five year program, or Shalom? Yeah.
So the studies there are fully in Arabic, how much Turkish do you
need to know to get by living there?
You don't have to know Turkish to get by living there. It's I picked
up on some Turkish like, I speak when I go out and I speak Turkish.
But it's not it's not like fluent or anything. I just know what I
need to know. Just ask like, how much does this cost? Yeah, you
know, order things. Say thank you, stuff like that. So basic stuff.
But you don't need you don't need it. Yeah. People talked about
your, your video series. What inspired it? And what's your
source? The shi r1. Yeah. So that actually was inspired by a friend
of mine who was learning some stuff to do with the Xiang
tradition. And he was trying to, you know, he was trying to figure
out, you can find his way and everything. And he decided that he

else. So anyway, after I started seeing, so I didn't, you know, we
don't study she has him. So we don't know too much about it. But
when he was saying all these things, I was really shocked at
some of the stuff that they were saying, and some of the claims
that are being made. It's absurd. So I was, so I respond to him and
a lot of things. And then he got me in contact with a Shia scholar.
So we had a group chat with him, he asked the question that she
asked scholar answered from the sheer perspective. And then I
responded to the Shia scholars perspective, with just responses
that kind of came to my head as like, you know, refutations, and
then he's, he told me that he was going to get back to me, until now
I haven't received a response. So then I decided that you know, what
I'm going to start making from these points that he that he's
mentioned to me, I'm going to just make videos on them, and clarify
them to other people. And, as for the source, like I said, we don't
you know, we don't study it or anything like this, the what I'm
trying to do in the series is stick to intellectual and Quranic
responses without getting into like Hadith, because if you get
into Hadith, you have to get into the reach of the Hadith, and you
have to, you know, whether it's authentic, whether they accepted
all these types of things, and also, like historical reports of
what happened, you know, between both sides and stuff like that
from the past. So I'm trying to stay away from that, and stick on
a common ground that both sides would believe in, which is the
Quran, and, you know, intellectual arguments. So, in my videos,
that's kind of what I'm gearing towards, and those things I kind
of, I haven't read anything on the, the responses that I gave
there. So like, for example, the response where I gave about the
wives of the prophets, Alaris and them and I will bait
I mentioned the verse of the Quran, where Ibrahim alayhi salam
where his his wife was being spoken to, and she's considered as
part of a debate, but sort of like I didn't I didn't, you know, kind
of find that from somewhere. It was just so happened that right
before I gave the response right before my friend asked me that
question. I had listened to a Koran recitation, I was just
listening to having it in the background. It was just playing.
And I heard this verse recited and I was just thinking to myself,
wait a second. This is like the word hello. Bates was just used
here. Yeah. So then I go into the translation. I was like, Okay,
this is amazing, you know, amazing verse, it can be used as evidence
and everything. So I kind of put that together as part of the
response. So there's not really you know, a must or like a source
that I'm just taking from like that. But mashallah, it was very
good. And I someone sent me that video. And I thought to myself
Subhanallah like there is is there a source that he's getting these
responses from? Because it was very thorough and it had like
three or four different layers of of of evidences there. So you're

Very good, very good. All right, so folks, we have a young child of
Adam here who has insha, Allah will grow to become a puppy, and a
scholar and a day, and in sha Allah to Allah, you can benefit
from his videos now while he's studying. And I think this is very
good, by the way, because it gives you a pulse of the world. As we
said, there are some people like many of the brothers from the data
looms, they just go from studying 10 years immediately to teaching
other students of knowledge.
Many others, myself included, would not have had a community
even for that. So you study what you can you go to a community that
is from scratch, almost, that is at, you know, needs, even
interest, let alone studying. So if you're gonna go that route,
then making these videos very good, because you get a pulse. I'm
sure you're already seeing in the comment section. Responses. Even
if you're going to become a professor right away, want to
study and want to become a professor right away out of my
head or out of school, like a an institute, this is very good for
you. Because people will throw at you. The look for holes, or
incompletions, or conch seemed apparent contradictions. They'll
sharpen your argument. Right? And you'll develop quite a lot. Yeah,
have the comments been crazy and nastier once. So I actually made a
video. I took a clip out of my little beta video. Yeah. Right at
the end. And I posted that on Instagram. Yeah. That clip kind of
went viral blew up and the comments, like said, Honestly, the
comments were very, very nasty. Yeah. Very, very, you know? Yeah,
just very, very bad comments. I was thinking of closing off, like
just closing comments entirely. Yeah. But then I don't know if
that's the right thing, because it's some, you know, people see
that as people take that as like a dictatorship and stuff like that.
So I don't know if that's something I should have done. But
the comments in that video specifically because I was talking
about eyeshadow, Alana, and she kind of the video kind of blew up
and all these she has, you know, came in and started using very
filthy language towards, you know, the Sahaba and stuff like this. So
over there, it kind of went very bad. On YouTube, there's not too
much.
But these Instagram Tiktok these places even eventually YouTube
when it gets big enough. If your channel insha Allah when it gets
big, you're gonna see those comments on YouTube too. But
the online world you have to navigate a very cautiously. It
could be very bad for your heart. Because literally people are
dumping the, the shutter of their knifes because they're anonymous.
They're just spitting it out and vomiting it on people's timelines.
And because there's no accountability, and it's one of
the worst places and it's not natural. It's not a real place, in
my opinion, because real people will not dare to say half the
stuff that they say. And I knew a kid who was saying very bad things
about
Not another kid. Right?
But not you.
But in person, in person, this kid is a mouse. Not even a mouse. He's
a rat, right?
He scurries around nervously. But you watch his comments on the, on
his, his anonymous account, we know that it's him, right?
It's unreal. The viciousness, right is unreal, but in real life,
a little scurrying. gret. Okay. It's not a natural place. So I
wouldn't even blame somebody who puts up content
and either shuts the comments off, or keeps them on but doesn't look
at them. Because I can't see how it's any good for the heart. It
just becomes bad for the heart. And take you that from somebody
who's I never got on to Tik Tok. I mean, there's an account there,
but I never went on it myself.
Instagram, never had much issue there. But Twitter, the toilet.
Twitter is crazy. It's the toilet, right? Because Twitter allows the
anonymous accounts. YouTube, I think it's harder to get an
anonymous, you can get an anonymous email, but it's a little
bit of work. Right? Right. It's easier to get an anonymous account
or any of these other things. Yeah. So you know what I've done
on YouTube, I've actually, you know, there's some some older
videos regarding certain responses within aka within Asuna. And I'm
getting some I'm getting some responses and refutations from
other people. And so, in the comments, you know, sometimes you
see a comment and you just kind of think to yourself, like, in order
for me to break this topic or this thing down, it's going to take
like, an entire lessons time. You can't just like respond. So when
when those kinds of comments come I just get, you know, I just kind
of look for keywords in them. Use the YouTube filter. Yes, block the
keywords. And those comments don't show up anymore. So, you know,
Twitter doesn't have that. I don't think Instagram has that or Tik
Tok or anything like that. Yeah, but that's one really good thing
on YouTube. It just doesn't even show their comments. Yeah. I did
appreciate Facebook back in the day.
There weren't, it was more of an older crowd. And they did actually
have people
you know, responding and actual intellectual response that forced
you to answer right. So but but Facebook is, to me is sort of a
defunct platform. I mean, who posts on Facebook anymore? The
what it is a glorified Craigslist, because the marketplace is good.
If you want to use fridge,
if you want to use a lawnmower, that's the place to go. But for
like when was the last time just out of curiosity was the last time
you went on to Facebook to post something or to have an
interaction or even to read something? Never. Yeah, I mean,
it'd be it's like defunct? I have I have a Facebook like I got I
actually haven't had it in so long. I got it, I think earlier
this year, because a lot of the most of my classmates, they're
still on Facebook. Yeah, that's the only reason. So I just have
them as friends. A bunch of people like I have some scholars as
friends. My teachers are there. But I've never used it for
anything I don't think I've ever posted on there.
I sometimes I'll read something from from Google that will take me
to a Facebook link. Yeah. But I usually just read that on the
website, as opposed to using the app or using an account or
anything. It's exactly and and also, when Google refers you to a
Facebook post, it's usually like 10 years old. Yeah, right. It's
like a post from the past.
So there's always these old platforms going out new platforms
coming in, like takes a specialist to keep up with this stuff. And
each type of video or platform requires a different kind of
footage, like tick tock, they like the amateur, natural on your phone
footage, whereas YouTube is fit more favorable. If it's a
professionally made video. It's all different. So
well, and even everybody, you can watch his videos, follow the show,
I'll be following the sheer refutation videos and out of
knowledge and interest, how to respond to these things, not out
of like picking a fight with the Shia or anything like that.
And anyway, anyhow, mostly, it's never Sunnis, who are attacking
the Shia Imams, right? It's she is attacking the sahaba. So for them
to now come and say, Oh, we're being attacked, you are the
biggest attackers. You're acting like designed to send Israelis
here. You attack and then cry. He attacks you with a knife, right?
Then he cries while he's doing it. He plays victim while he's doing
that's what it is.
really does, right? He attacks you. And he cries while he's doing
it. What the heck? And he makes you feel guilty, right?
Well, they did. They're very similar to that. They'll go and
throw rocks at you at all your sahabat all your heads and
Momineen.
Right? And if you utter a word, oh, we're the minority, blah,
blah, blah. They learn this stuff from the Wilk. That's what they
did. Yep. Let's take some comments and questions. What do we have
questions for our guests today?
All right, so you got one question, Sudan are there? Are
there institutes in Turkey where women can study tell us about the
institutes in Turkey? Where can somebody study how do you even
start?
So especially this is for women to, for women to so from what I
know, before I came here, I basically got a message from one
of my old teachers from, from long time ago, when I was really young.
And he basically told my dad about the opportunity to go and study in
Turkey, I found out about the school through him. And then the
condition to entering the school or to being considered or accepted
was to have some knowledge of Arabic, and to have previously
studied a little bit somewhere. So
that's the first thing just having basic knowledge of Arabic before,
if you want to get into one of these schools, you should know
some Arabic other institute. There's there's many Institute's
similar to the one that we're in. So there's one like Maha Abu
Hanifa, they're more on social media. They're more active.
They have many scholars, and it's a similar program they have you
know, I think like 16 or 15 subjects that they also study,
it's a mastery program.
Another one is called Mohammed Abdullah, Abdul Razak al Halabi.
After the shake up the recycle Halaby.
And over there, some of my teachers also teach in that school
as well. So there's different my head, you really just have to come
to Turkey, you know, meet up with go to one of the the masajid where
the scholars, the Syrian scholars are there and just, you know, ask
around, and there's different, there's different Institute's a
lot of them a lot of teachers teach at, as far as women go,
there's I only know of two, so one of them is more advanced, where my
teachers teach at.
I'm forgetting the name exactly right now, but it is in Istanbul.
And the other one is called Maha Aisha, were actually my sister
went to go and study they have a shoddy art program. And they have
an Arabic program for one year before entering the Shetty art
program. So if you don't know any Arabic, and you want to begin, you
can go there. And then after one year, you're you're fluent enough
to be able to, you know, have a basic conversation, understand
what the teachers are saying. And then they jump straight into the
Shediac program. So okay, so the process would be to discover the
schools and and then to come sirki, visit them see what suits
you most? And is the application process? Is it to the schools is
it more relaxed than, let's say University. So
it depends on the school, shake nada, he's very, very strict.
The other schools, it's a lot more easy. So when I first came here,
for example, I was going to, I had planned to get into one shape or
another school. I did the interview process online with him.
He spoke to me in Arabic asked me to read a few things, you know,
explain a few, you know, topics and stuff, or whatever. So we did
the interview. That wasn't too too difficult.
After that, when I got to Turkey, I visited some other Institute's I
went to Maha Abu Hanifa, for example, I saw the Institute I
went to, you know, different places.
The the application process, I applied to Abu Hanifa as well,
that was pretty easy. It wasn't, it's not it's not too difficult.
And over here, the MA had, they're all free of charge. It's not like
you have to pay a tuition or anything like that. So really
application they basically they just want a student who is capable
of understanding who's capable of reading who's capable of, of
carrying the tradition. That's more so what they're looking for,
as opposed to you know, if you if you can, you know, afford it or
pay tuition and things like this.
So it's I don't think it's too difficult as long as you're, you
know, you're Arabic and you have the willingness and the desire our
teacher Sheikh Nether he always says that, you know, he accepts
anyone who is much ahead, which is someone who's, you know, very
hardworking, and someone who's sincere. So if you have if you
have Arabic language, and you're you're dedicated on this path, and
he looks up to you just just like that, and you have to study Hanafi
fiqh, though, right, if you're in Turkey, right? If yes, so the MA
had the LT chinafy fit. However, there are some places that teach
different mother hips. So some, some of my teachers like some of
my teachers are chef Harry, some of them are Hanafi.
But the what's established like what we're studying as part of the
curriculum is all hands
But probably no medic effect in Turkey, right? Not that I know of
no, not yet at least
their share phase fifth, maybe. And definitely Hanafi FIP.
Alright, now when you get there, you're going to get a document
from the school. That's what you present to the Turkish Embassy
back here and you get a visa to stay there for a long period of
time. So not the not the MA had no. So it's the MA had their the
run by the Syrian scholars, but they're not necessarily like
accredited schools. Yeah, so in order to get that paper has to be
something accredited, like a four year program, you get a bachelor's
or master's degree or something, their programs are not necessarily
like that. So you don't get you don't get that that's part of the
reason why a lot of students are facing issues, they don't get
student papers.
Other Other students, when you go to like a normal university, and
you apply student visas are generally accepted. So some of the
students in our school right now what they've done to solve the
visa situation for them, is they've applied to some
universities. And they just don't attend the classes. They're they
attend that our school. And they're just paying tuition every
month for the university. And so they got the got student papers,
and they were able to get their student visas for that. Like for
myself, though, I had never did any student papers, I had an
extended tour tourist visa. So and does that mean that you have to
exit the country every like, what, six months? And go? No, no, no,
no. So if you get if you get the actual extended tourist visa, they
give it you know, within one year at a time or two years out of time
or three years, they give it that's great stuff of whatever
they feel like, whatever they feel like accepting So, okay, so you
don't have to worry about it for another year or two. And that's
good. And then you now that you have the visa, you can probably
now open a bank account and rent an apartment. Correct, right? Yes,
there's so there's some places in Turkey in Istanbul, where you
can't rent an apartment. So the place you know, there's lots of
other places where most of the masajid and the scholars are they,
they don't allow foreigners, even if you have a visa to rent under
their name, you have to rent it under one of your friend's name.
So like right now I have my friend. He's a Turkish Turkish
person. And he has an extra he has his apartment. So I just pay him
rent and kind of just live here. But
you know, they won't let you rent because you're a tourist. Yes.
Because I'm full. So there's no way for them to really take you to
court once you bounce you bounce back. Okay, good. So, so then the
advice you have for people, when you rent go to somebody who is a
resident, who either owns and will sublet to cash out of trust,
right? Or somebody who is,
you know, make an arrangement with somebody who is gonna let you, you
know, do this? Do they have people like that around the school? I'm
sure they do, right?
It's not necessarily set, like people that will do it for you.
It's kind of like each person is on their own. So I know like some
of the guys from our class. They're from outside of the
district. So it's not like all of Istanbul is like this. There's
different districts. And so just outside of the district that I'm
in, they allow foreigners for example, so a lot of people have
houses and apartments there under their name, no problems. They
don't know anyone else or anything like that. And they just come by
bus every morning, which is, you know, it's not it's not too
difficult or anything like that. Just not within walking distance.
If you do have someone so and
what was it gonna say? I was gonna ask you one more question. So
there are no dorms in the schools, right? There actually is dorms.
There are dorms, which schools have dorms. So the MaHA Hanifa has
dorms. The our school has dorms, we had dorms the first year and
then the second year, but because of some issues that happened with
that building, we had to move to a different one. We have less dorm
space for this year. However, next year inshallah we should, you
know, we're looking forward projecting for next year to
hopefully we have more dorm space in our school, but the dorms are a
separate building to the school. So the school is its own building.
Everyone's studies there, and they come from the dorms. But the dorms
as well. They're not.
They're not you know, you're not, you're not a student registered to
the dorm location. So you kind of just live there with everyone
else. Okay, so last question. Yes, how much? How many 1000s of
dollars are needed to live in Turkey for a year food, buses,
clothes, books, medicine if you get sick rent
So, how many 1000? If you're a single person? Yeah, I would say
eight to 10,000 would be enough. Really? Big. That's a great deal.
And
okay, what about the which schools? Again? Do you say is
there a specific school for women? Or not the one that I do know, the
one that I know the name of is called Matt had. Aisha now had
Isha. Okay, good. Yes. Say that Isha. And then the other one, I'm
forgetting the exact name of it.
But the other one is probably Maha Aisha is free for the Shetty I
studies. But for the, for the other school, their studies are a
bit more, you know, structured, the classrooms are a lot better
and stuff like that. But it does cost it does cost money for you
not to pay the tuition and everything. But I do. I'm not
remembering the name exactly. Right now.
Oh, my, you had a question. Yeah. So for young people that how do
you navigate like, the marriage stuff? So are you guys single
guys, and like studying over there and then planning on getting
married once you come back? Or how? Because, you know, I think
that's one of the big things that will not face when they go
overseas. It's like the whole marriage process. And like, you
know, yes, we That's the question. Does anyone get married there. So
a lot of a lot of the students are actually married, some people are
a little bit older, some people are,
you know, young and married as well. We had, I think an 18 year
old from 19 years old. Last year, he went and got married in the
summer and came back with his wife.
So it's kind of it's kind of both the majority of the students are
single.
They're not married, but they are looking to get married, they're
trying to get married, etc.
So it's kind of, you know, we contribute to both some people,
it's just a personal thing. Our teachers tell us that their
advice, you know, we've asked them multiple times that do you advise
getting married, do you advise, you know, staying single and
focusing on studies, they've said that if you feel as a person that
you're capable, like you've seen how the studies are, how intense
it is, whatever, if you feel that you're able to keep up with the
curriculum and keep up with the studies and you have extra time
and you have like free time on your hands and go and get married.
And if you if you feel like it's too tough for the program is very
difficult then either pick whether you want the family life, or the
married life and you want to you know, support your family and
everything or pick the studies because you're going to end up
leaving one of the two. So it they say it goes back to it goes back
to you as a person what you feel like you're capable of handling.
So a lot of them like I said, they are married, they have some some
guys are quite old date their doctors for example, we have you
know, medical doctors there. And they go back in the summer and
work for about two months. And they save up you know enough to
come back and spend the rest of the year in Turkey and the take
care of their families and their wife over here as well. Final
question when someone goes to Turkey Where's the place that the
people of Dean would go to people were interested in Dean and these
kinds of activities which part of his stumbled do they go to?
You would go to fatter, fatter? Yes, fast is that the district?
It's kind of the center. It's where all the tourism is I Sophia,
the blue moss. Okay, all that tourism stuff. If you go just a
little bit north of the tourism, there's the big Masjid Fatah
Masjid. It's called Fatah. gemera. And
right beside that that's where practically majority of the
religious people are. And behind the Fatah masjid, there's actually
one street they call it it's actually a little area they call
it Ismail Agha. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right, but
they call it that's the area and the entire thing is full of like
Nickleby women. And men were like, you know the loosest of clothes
and like everything's proper religious over there. That's where
all the scholars are. That's where all the Guru's happen that's why
they even said the masjid like one of my teachers shaking would you
don't have to leave? He gives classes on Sahih Muslim and we
every week in the masjid. So a lot of a lot of things are happening
in that area. So this Fattah Istanbul All right, this was very
