Forgotten Sunnahs – Episode 06

AsSalamu Alaikum and welcome to another episode of forgotten Sooners. Today's episode deals with the Sunnah related to paying off a debt or paying someone back.

It is narrated inside a body and second Muslim that the president of what's owed a man a camel, and that man came back demanding that he be paid back and another person I've heard this he told the companions go find a camel similar to the one that he gave me and give it to him, the companions came back and said, we can't find a camel like that. But we can find one that is older, meaning better the person I'm told the companions are too, but in the hierarchal leucovorin that give it to him, for the best of you are those who repay their debts in the best way. So what we learned from this is that it is actually sunlight is something good that when we repay someone, we give them more

than what they gave us. Now before you jump the gun and go run off with the sun, there's a few disclaimers that need to be made. First of all, something like this cannot be stipulated when the loan is given. So a person can't say Hey, I'll give you $10 but when you repay me, give me $12 that is what is known as Riba that's interest and that is not permissible. Also a person whose debt is being repaid, they can't demand that so they can't come and say, Hey, I gave you $10 but you know what you should give me $12 back once again, that is a buy that has interest and is not permissible. So we're talking about here is that a person who is repaying the loan that they do it out of the

goodness of their own heart that they gave a little bit more or extra, obviously, as long as they're able to do so. And Allah Subhana Allah knows best until next time, I said, I'm on a call whatever the law he will but I can't do
