My brothers and sisters,
we talked about
the Niyyah,
we talked about
the benefit of deeds,
the importance of
earning and eating halal.
Because if you
earn or eat haram,
then the deeds are not accepted.
We have the hadith
said there was a man who was
praying and making dua and he was saying,
You Rabbi You Rabbi You Rabbi. And Rasul
said,
his clothes are haram, his food is haram.
His earnings are haram. How will Allah
answer?
So, it is a prerequisite
for our deeds to be accepted
that
we nourish ourselves with halal
and we actually
meaning we earn halal and we eat halal.
Today I want to remind myself and you
about the importance
of preserving the deeds.
Because like money,
we can earn money
and then that money can be wasted. It
can be stolen.
It can
be spent in
foolish places.
So at the end of the day,
you are still poor.
When you need money, it's not there. Even
though you own it, what happened to all
this money?
As you know, as at least some of
you know, I'm a corporate consultant.
And one of the things I do is
help companies become more productive.
So when we find that
a company is not as productive as it
can be and people are usually saying, you
know, we must increase our sales and our
sales are not
done.
I tell them first fix the leaks.
So what are leaks?
Leaks is where your
operation is inefficient
and your effort and your money is leaking.
If you have leaks, it's like a barrel.
Now this barrel is water and the water
is leaking.
So you say, this water level is falling,
I must increase the water level. So somebody
says, the best way to increase the water
level
is put a pressure hose
and pump in water into the barrel
with
great force.
What will happen if you do that?
The speed at which the water is leaking
will increase.
Right? Originally, the leak was a little bit
like a trickle. Now it will be a
spurt because of the pressure of water.
If you want the water level not to
drop, you have to first fix the leaks.
If you fix the leaks, even the regular
water which is coming into the barrel will
fill the barrel.
You don't even need the extra water.
The same thing with our amal.
The first thing to do if we want
our amal, our deeds
to grow, good deeds to grow, is fix
the leaks.
What are the leaks?
One leak is
to be
careless
with sin.
This is one of the things that the
Prophet mentioned. He said, the difference between a
muttaqi and a person who has no taqwa
is that
when a person has
when he does even the small thing wrong,
he feels as if there is a big
rock which is
suspended on top of him and it will
crush him at any moment. So immediately he
makes
he makes tawah, he seeks repentance
and turns to Allah
Whereas a person who has no tawah,
even if he does commits a major sin,
Rabbi Shaili said for him it's like a

We have this hadith from mister Salam.
A man came to him and said, you
Rasoolullah, I do many wrong things.
I do a lot of harab stuff,

I got some,
you know, my conscience is not happy with
that.
So I've come to you,
but I am being fair. I'm being
frank with you. I cannot leave everything.
But for you, I believe one thing. So
tell me what can I leave?
If you tell me to leave everything, I
can't do it.
One thing. Rasulullah
said to him, don't lie.
Speak the truth.
So the man thought this is easy. You
know, he did not say, don't do zina.
Don't drink. Don't do this.
Don't tell
lies. He said, this is easy.
And then what happens?
He wants to go
to do whatever he wants to do, which
is wrong.
And thought comes to him,
tomorrow when I meet the Ravi alaihis salam,
if he asked me what were you doing?
What did you do last evening?
What will I tell him?
I I said I can't lie. And obviously
I can't go to him and say I
did this.
Leaving that one thing that that leaving one
lying, not lying,
cured him from everything.
All his evil went away.
So it looks like a small thing. It's
not small.
Another major
sin,
which is part of now our social life
is labor.
It's bad talking people.
Slandering people.
And what adds to that
is this,
social media
compounds it.
There was a time if I
needed to, if I, not need, nobody needs
to. What I'm saying, if I, if I,

you know, did a rebirth of somebody, I
would tell someone face to face. Right?
So he's one person. Now maybe he will

just dies with 1 person, maybe he goes
to another person, dies with that. But today,

and so on, It is eternal.
This thing will be floating in the, in

You know, there is this famous hadith, Allah

said there will be people on the day
of judgment who will come to Allah
with good deeds
the size of mountains.
Imagine what kind of life that person would
have lived. Right?
His good deeds are like a mountain.
So,
what?
Good deeds the size of a mountain.
And when they come to Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, at the same time, there will be
a long line of people,
And these people will be people who they
have wronged, who they have.
Maybe they killed somebody. Maybe they killed somebody's
honor. Maybe they slander somebody. Maybe they beat
somebody. Maybe they took away somebody's right and
so on and so forth.
Long line of evil.
Now on the day of judgment, what is
the currency?
What is the currency?
Not used. Alright?
Hazenat, currency is deeds.
Currency is deeds.
So these people will come and they will
say, Arab,
I have come for my right from this
man.
So
Allah will say, okay. He's landed you. Here
is so many Hazarat.
You take it and go.
Next one will come. You are on my
right. Now this will happen until
that entire
mountain of good deeds is gone,
But the line is still there.
The line of people demanding justice is still
there.
So Allah, of course, knows that Allah says
now he has no deeds.
Now what shall I do? How how will
I
give you justice? They will say, Arab, give
my evil deed to him.
Rasulullah
said, this will be done, and that person
will be thrown into the hellfire carrying other
people's evil deeds.
Right?
You know, when
I first read this, Hadith, I I thought
to myself, of course, Hadith is right.
This is say hadith. But I thought to
myself, how can someone do so much evil?
You know, I'm just logically think, how can
someone do so much evil
that a mountain worth of good deeds is
gone and plus on top of that he's
getting a mountain of bad deeds.
How is it possible?
Until I remembered
this.
This will last.
The only eternal thing in life is
Facebook.
The hotel.
Think about that.
One message
will circulate and we go around and round
and round and round and round and round.
You are dead and gone into your cover.
That thing is earning stuff for you.
Please
save yourself. I remind myself. Let me save
myself. It doesn't matter. Don't do all these
good deeds. Don't even come and pray pray
pray go away, but stop sinning.
Stop sinning.
Stop doing a favor.
Stop backbiting.
Stop criticizing people.
I mentioned yesterday, the first thing that happened,
moment you get some
you start pointing fingers.
Look at him look at him. Don't look
at him. Look at yourself.
Look at yourself. The purpose of the knowledge
of Islam is to improve myself. Nothing else.

With the knowledge of Islam, if I if

He plays next to you every single day.
How long does this take you to say,
what's your name? What's my name? And we
don't do it.
And that is the very first thing. So
let us
remember
to
do good
and to preserve this good. Guard this good
Because that good will get stolen by Shaitan.
Final point, Shaitan steals in 2 ways.

that when you have done some good, he
makes you do something evil, which takes away
the good.
For example, backbiting. What happens backbiting?
Your good deeds are gone into somebody else's
account.
Somebody came to me.

you. So he sent some.

Well, I believe you have been bad talking
to me. Let me, yeah, you know, give
you some gift.
Because I'm getting your good deeds. Right? So
you have some banana.
So one way is this. Shaitan makes you
do something which cancels out your good deal.
The other way in which Shaitan does is
he makes you do something which has less
value compared to something which has more value.
Maximize the thing.
Maximize the thing. The the the good deed
is for you. It's not for anybody else.
Maximize the thing. So this

makes you he gets you makes you lazy.
Right? At the time of of salah,
don't go and pray. You pray. I'm not
stopping you to pray. Well, go don't go
for Salah. Don't go to the masjid.
Just pray at home.
