Heart Therapy: Episode 9 – The Cures for the Heart’s Diseases

Welcome to this latest episode of our program heart therapy.

In the last episode, we looked at some of the diseases of the heart.

And so, there are many different kinds of diseases that afflict the heart.

And we looked at a few examples of these diseases. In this episode, we want to move on to perhaps the most important discussion regarding this topic of the heart and its diseases. And that is how to cure

the diseases of the heart.

And so, cures for the hearts many diseases are of two kinds as the scholars have mentioned,

the first is what is known as medicine or cures, which are which are natural cures. And these cures are basically whatever modern medicine has told us about how we can cure our hearts.

The second

is basically what is referred to as medicine or cures, which are Sharia, or legislative meaning that they have been legislated by Allah subhanho wa Taala in the Quran, or through the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa ala.

Now, the diseases of the heart are two kinds with respect to these two kinds of medicines. The first is the disease of the heart, that a person does not feel the pain of that disease right away.

Like ignorance, or being engulfed in chahatein, lustful desires are being taken away by shoe hearts by doubts and uncertainties.

This is the most painful kind of the diseases of the heart. But because the heart is corrupt, it doesn't feel the pain, and it doesn't suffer from that disease. And so, because the intoxication of ignorance

and following the whims and desires of the soul,

because this comes in between

the heart and perceiving the pain, therefore, it doesn't feel the pain.

This kind of disease, this kind of disease, it can only be cured by legislative means. And so it can only be cured by the medicines or the cures, which have been revealed to us by a loss of Hannah who were to add. And so the prophets and the messengers, they were the doctors for curing these kinds of illnesses and diseases.

And no one can be cured from these kinds of diseases, except by following what the messengers brought to us from Allah subhanho wa Taala. And that's why Allah subhanho wa Taala refers to his words and his scripture as a cure a medicine

as something which we can use to heal ourselves with one zero milk or any man who actually fat we reveal of the Quran. What is a chef app or a cure for the believers

As for the other kind of disease of the heart, it is the kind of disease or illness that the person feels on the spot, he feels it right away, such as falling into sadness, or feeling anxiety, and so on and so forth. And so this is related to the heart, it is not a physical,

it is not a physical disease, it is not a physical ailment, but rather more of a spiritual one.

And so, when it first when a person, when a person fears something, or something happens in his life, and he falls into sadness, into anxiety, these things are felt by the person right away.

And so what we can say is that this kind of disease or ailment, it can be cured with natural cures. And so the first kind of medicine that I mentioned in the beginning, those natural medicines or ways of healing and curing, that the doctors are aware of.

So this is something that we can leave to

doctors of psychology, for example.

And so they have certain medicines that treat these kinds of

anxiety disorders.

But although that is the case,

this kind of disease is also curable by what Allah subhanho wa Taala has sent us of his words of the Quran.

And so, whenever the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would

become sad, or he would fall into anxiety due to a certain thing that happened in his lifetime, he would turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala.

And when Allah subhana wa tada says, that he has revealed this brand, as a cure, it includes, it includes those kinds of illnesses that we just mentioned here just now.

Now, all diseases of the heart can be traced back to true things, as we have mentioned many times in these last episodes.

And these two things are basically shoe hat and shower, shoe hat being the doubts, the uncertainties, that shaytaan whispers into our hearts regarding a law regarding the religion of Allah, and Shahada being the evil lustful desires of our soul that it wishes to fulfill.

And the grand Allah subhanahu attallah centers that he has mentioned, is a cure for us. It covers both shewhart and Shahar.

And so, as for sure we had the Quran consists of

evidences upon evidences, proofs upon proofs, logical arguments, one after the other, proving what is true and destroying what is false god. Allah subhanho wa Taala sent in this grand, many proofs and evidences that have proven and made the truth clear from falsehood.

And so, a person who reads recites the Quran and he tries to understand its meanings with

a sound intention, with the intention that he wants to know the truth. And if Allah subhanho wa Taala, grants him the trophy, he is Guided through the Quran, and he is cured of those who had through the Quran. And so, the diseases of true bohat are destroyed through the Quran.

And so, such diseases that corrupt the right perception of the truth, they disappear, does making a person to see the truth as it is.

And so the Qur'an consists of a loss of Hannah who without approving that he is one

proving his oneness. Also mentioning his many attributes,

also mentioning

Many different things regarding life after death, the resurrection, and the final abode. All of these things have been proven in the Quran, through many different ways. And so whenever these shubho had come to you from the enemies of Islam and from shaitan a person is cured when he goes back to the Korea

as for Shahada, the lustful desires, the Quran, is also a cure for that disease. And so the Quran consists of pieces of advice, of pieces of wisdom of admonition.

through what is known as total read, enter here to read being admonitions that encourage us to do good Tara Hebe, being admonitions that should make us to fear the consequences of disobeying Allah subhanho wa Taala. And so Allah subhanahu wa tada has mentioned throughout the Quran,

many different reminders, many different admonitions that help those who have this disease, of Shahada in their hearts. And so

a person who reads the Quran pondering over these verses, it makes his heart to change. And it causes him to love guidance, instead of misguidance, to prefer the love of Allah subhanho wa Taala over the love of his soul, and what his neffs desires, thus causing it, causing his heart to return to the fitrah the natural disposition that Allah subhanho wa Taala created him upon. And so just like the ill body, the

diseased physical body recovers to full health after it was one sick. Similarly, the heart that is

diseased from shughart.

It also gains full recovery from that simply by going back to look around. And so the heart requires two things

in order for it to return to full recovery from its illness, the Quran on the one hand, and on the other hand, he man, and so the place of a man, the location of a man is in the heart, from it originates, and throughout the rest of the body, it appears, we'll take a quick short break and be right back after a few moments in sha Allah.

welcome back to this episode of Hart therapy. Before the break, we had mentioned that the Quran which Allah subhanho wa Taala sent to us is a cure for every disease, and that includes the diseases of the heart.

And so, just like the body requires healthy nutrition, in order for it to grow to full health,

as well as immunization,

to ward off any diseases.

Similarly, the heart requires something in order to make it fully healthy, and to ward off all diseases from it. And there is no cure for that, besides the Quran.

Moreover, the impurity of sins that exists in the heart are like harmful toxins in the body.

And also they are like the rust that grows on gold or silver.

So just like when the body is detoxed,

it is cleansed of all

harmful substances.

And just like the gold and the silver,

that has rust on it, and dirt is cleansed of that rust in that dirt.

Similarly, when the heart is cleansed of those things, what happens? While the body when it is cleansed of its toxins, it recovers, and

the body functions the way it should. And as for the gold and silver, what happens? It becomes pure, and shining. Similarly, the heart, when those sins are flushed out of its system, it becomes pure, just like that gold, and it functions properly, just like that body that hasn't been flushed and cleansed of those harmful toxins.

And not only that, but what happens to the body when

it's evil or harmful, harmful toxins. When it's evil, or harmful toxins are flushed out of its system, it finally rests in peace. And so it could sleep at night. And it could wake up in the day and be full of energy. Similarly, the heart when those scenes are flushed out of it, it finally rests in peace, no longer being bothered by the evil urges that we're pulling it. But how does that happen? How do those scenes get flushed out of the heart, as we mentioned previously, through sincere repentance to Allah subhanho wa Taala.

And sins, they basically cause the heart to inflame with heat,

and they are like firewood that is added to a bonfire. What happens to that bonfire, the more firewood you add, the larger it becomes. Thus, the more sins that increase in the heart,

the more heated it will become.

And we all know that water, washes away dirt, and also extinguishes fire. Similarly, water washes away the filth of sins, and calms down the inflammation of the heart.

And if we were to make the water cold, it would give strength and firmness to the body. And if you were to add ice to it, if you were to add ice to that water and use ice to wash away the sins, it would cause it, it would cause the heart to become stronger and firmer, thus causing the effects of the sins to disappear.

The famous scholar Mila, have mercy upon him. He says I asked my share even tinier about the meaning of the death of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam

when he said a long no silly mean Hata I believe he was telling Wahlberg that Oh Allah, cleanse me of my sins, with water and snow and ice. This is one of the two hours that prophet SAW Selim would read in the opening day

when he would begin his Salah.

And so Abraham says, I asked my shares even taymiyah how are sins cleansed by these three things? And what is the benefit of mentioning them specifically? While

the prophet SAW Selim stated in another wording of the Hadith, and cold water, although even Abraham says, even though Khayyam says although hot water is more effective in cleaning, and so we all know that, if we want to clean something, if we were to use hot water, it's more effective in cleaning away the dirt, whether it be our clothes, or anything else.

And so even taymiyah, he replied, and said, sins impose heat, impurity, and weakness upon the heart, thus causing the heart to slack in igniting the fire of shower in it and contaminating it, for sings in relation to the heart, or like firewood which supplies fire and Kindles it. As a result, the more scenes increase, the more intense the hearts fire and fire

ltb COMM And so water cleanses the impurity and extinguishes the fire. If it is cold, it will bring rigidity and strength to the body. And if snow and ice are added to it, it will become stronger in cooling and bringing that rigidity, that rigidity and intensity to the body does becoming more effective in eliminating the effects of sin.

And so from this, we understand

the reason why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would ask Allah to basically cleanse him of sins, with water, with cold water, with cold water, and snow and ice.

Even though it is hot water that cleanses dirt.

Now,

in this episode, we were speaking about the cures for the diseases of the heart will mention a few cures besides what we have already mentioned. And so as we mentioned in the very beginning, the Quran is a primary cure. But besides that, we also have other things that can help us to cure the diseases of our hearts.

First and foremost,

whenever we want.

First and foremost, whenever we want

help in anything,

we turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala.

And so, we need to turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala proclaiming to Allah, our need of him, you cannot do anything in this life, whether it is related to your religion,

or your worldly affairs, whether it is related to this life or the next, you cannot do anything except with the help of Allah subhanho wa Taala.

And so, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned when he said indeed he man becomes worn out, inside one of you, just like

a garment becomes worn out.

So ask a lot to revive in an in your hearts. And so we should always turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala whenever we feel some weakness in our Deen

also,

Allah subhanho wa Taala told us the cure

for these diseases when he said, what Mr. Young's ohana can mean straight on he knows when first eyes Billa that whenever shaitan touches you with evil and whispers to You evil, what should you do? The cure is to turn to a loss of Hannah who would seek refuge in Allah subhanho wa Taala. Secondly,

among the cures for these, secondly, among the cures for disease hearts, is to try your best

to basically remove these diseases from your heart.

And that is because

shaitan is like a dog.

When a dog sees raw meat,

he rushes towards it.

And so shaitan when he sees your heart

filled with sin,

and he sees that it is completely drowning in sin,

that is when he has control of it. But if you remove these diseases from your heart, then shaitan he doesn't have a way into your heart. And so you need to try your best to remove them from your heart.

And so how do you remove these diseases from your heart? In the previous episode, we mentioned some of the common diseases of the heart, such as envy, arrogance, greediness and so on.

And so, the cure for arrogance for example, is its opposite. And so arrogance is removed by humbleness. If you want to cure envy, the cure for envy is by knowing that every blessing from Allah upon anyone, it is from Allah subhanho wa Taala as you and so you are satisfied with what Allah subhana wa tada has decided for each and every single human being.

You have the disease of

greediness, it is cured by its opposite, which is to spend in the way of a loss of Hannah who would Allah and so on and so forth. Among the many cures for the diseases of the heart, is by constantly reminding yourself, or realizing the greatness of Allah Subhana who had died. And so the servant who realizes the greatness of Allah, this would be sufficient for him to cleanse his heart and obey Allah Subhana who was out there and stay away from his disobedience, among the cures for curing disease hearts,

is by constantly remembering Allah subhanahu adad with one's heart and one's tongue.

And so if your heart is diseased, force yourself to always remember Allah subhanahu wa tada through the various of the car, keep your tongue moist, with the remembrance of Allah Subhana, who was

finally, among the greatest cures for disease hearts, is by seeking knowledge, knowledge of Allah subhanho wa Taala of his names, his attributes, knowledge of what Allah subhanho wa Taala wants from us, the do's the don'ts, all of this is knowledge that if we were to gain and make an effort to gain this knowledge, it would be sufficient for us to cure these diseases hearts. But the most important thing is to not simply gain that knowledge, but rather implement that knowledge. And so knowledge alone is not sufficient, but rather, it must be accompanied with action.

We ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to help all of us each and every single one of us to take the steps to cure our disease hearts.
