going through any of it and benefiting and

making a good life for yourself in this

is that the worst state a person can

be in is Kufr.

A person who wakes up in the morning

and doesn't remember Allah and goes to sleep

at night and doesn't remember Allah,

that person is dead. According to the Quran

metaphor, that person is dead. In fact, they're

00:19:07 --> 00:19:08

not just dead because a real dead person,

at least you know they're dead. That person

is a mockery of life.

And we ask Allah,

this is one of the miracles of the

00:19:15 --> 00:19:16

Quran. Is that a person who's in such

00:19:16 --> 00:19:18

a state, a lot can give them life

00:19:18 --> 00:19:19

still.

00:19:19 --> 00:19:20

They can still receive guidance.

00:19:21 --> 00:19:24

And so that's why we, we pray to

00:19:24 --> 00:19:25

for their guidance, and we,

00:19:27 --> 00:19:29

remove whatever obstacles we can for their guidance

00:19:29 --> 00:19:31

should they choose to should they should Allah

00:19:31 --> 00:19:33

choose to give them life and that that

00:19:33 --> 00:19:35

they come back that it's as easy as

possible.

But the the heart that doesn't remember Allah

is dead, and the body that's around that

in order to purge that,

purge that ill effect from the heart.

people don't. Until that changes, a person needs

the effect that they have on them and

take,

measures to protect themselves lest they,

00:21:31 --> 00:21:32

slip into,

00:21:32 --> 00:21:33

slip into that state.

The people who are gifted with sacred knowledge,

great ones, not being separated rather and and

sorts of stuff. It's gonna be all completely

worthless.

But for us, we should be very careful

not to take the enmity up of any

other Muslim.

Because you may not like them,

you may hate them, but bad news for

00:31:41 --> 00:31:44

you, Allah loves them, so you're stuck.

What did Allah Ta'ala say? He says, whoever

takes a friend of mine as an enemy,

I declare war on them.

And the greater the the the the friendship

of that person with Allah is,

the more severe that that,

that that declaration of war is.

And so let a person, let a person

be very weary. And this is unfortunately a

time in which we,

in which we live that people are,

00:32:10 --> 00:32:12

you know, they don't care about these things

anymore. So somebody,

00:32:15 --> 00:32:17

will be a person who's made of the

00:32:17 --> 00:32:19

deen for their whole life, and somebody will

00:32:20 --> 00:32:21

that person will say something. But everyone is

00:32:21 --> 00:32:24

a human being still. Right? We are Aqidah

00:32:24 --> 00:32:27

is what? There's no one's infallible after the.

00:32:28 --> 00:32:29

So a person will make a mistake

00:32:30 --> 00:32:33

and people will completely, like, roast on them,

00:32:33 --> 00:32:35

or feast on their on their flesh and

00:32:35 --> 00:32:37

go crazy and nuts about it. Now if

00:32:37 --> 00:32:39

a person makes a mistake and they apologize

00:32:39 --> 00:32:40

and you still,

00:32:41 --> 00:32:43

talk garbage about them,

00:32:43 --> 00:32:45

then that's really bad.

00:32:46 --> 00:32:48

And if a person makes a mistake

00:32:48 --> 00:32:50

or sorry. If a person didn't make a

00:32:50 --> 00:32:52

mistake, you just don't like what they're saying,

00:32:52 --> 00:32:54

they have a different opinion than you,

00:32:56 --> 00:32:57

then that's even worse.

People make mistakes just because a person spent

their whole life in the service of the

00:33:02 --> 00:33:03

dean doesn't mean if they harm another person

that it's

okay, or that that person doesn't have the

00:33:06 --> 00:33:08

right to recourse or doesn't have the right

00:33:08 --> 00:33:09

to justice or to be,

00:33:10 --> 00:33:11

recompensed

or or for whatever harm was done to

00:33:13 --> 00:33:16

them. But to hate that person then afterward,

00:33:16 --> 00:33:17

after that process has taken place,

00:33:18 --> 00:33:20

this is really bad. And more often than

00:33:20 --> 00:33:21

not, I see what I see is that

00:33:21 --> 00:33:25

oftentimes people, they just won't like something someone

00:33:25 --> 00:33:26

did or someone something someone said,

00:33:27 --> 00:33:29

even though it's just a difference of opinion.

Is this one of the signs of nifaq,

right, with a hasam of fajal, that if

00:33:34 --> 00:33:36

you if the Munafiq is 1 is a

00:33:36 --> 00:33:38

person if they if they disagree with someone,

00:33:38 --> 00:33:39

they let that disagreement

00:33:39 --> 00:33:40

exceed all bounds,

00:33:43 --> 00:33:44

which is what,

00:33:44 --> 00:33:46

you know, sheikh so and so,

00:33:47 --> 00:33:50

you know, decided not to accept the invitation

00:33:50 --> 00:33:51

to come to your masjid and do a

00:33:51 --> 00:33:52

program on such and such weekend,

00:33:53 --> 00:33:55

you know, because he's not feeling well. Well,

he went to the other masjid and he

00:33:56 --> 00:33:58

seemed just fine and he this and he's,

00:33:58 --> 00:34:00

man, maybe he just didn't wanna, you know,

00:34:00 --> 00:34:02

whatever. Come to your masjid. Right? His brother

00:34:02 --> 00:34:05

so and so was like, you know, you

asked them to come to your party, but

they were sick. Or sister so and so,

you asked her, you know, if she could

help you with your homework and she didn't

00:34:11 --> 00:34:12

or whatever. Right?

00:34:13 --> 00:34:14

Those are not things that you have, like,

00:34:14 --> 00:34:16

a right over other people for.

00:34:16 --> 00:34:18

Maybe they just didn't you know, they weren't

00:34:18 --> 00:34:19

able to help you that day. What if

00:34:19 --> 00:34:21

they just didn't wanna help you? Are is

00:34:21 --> 00:34:21

anyone

00:34:22 --> 00:34:23

obliged to be at the service of another

00:34:23 --> 00:34:24

person,

00:34:25 --> 00:34:27

at a particular time or place?

00:34:27 --> 00:34:29

You know what I mean? So these are

00:34:29 --> 00:34:31

these are these are issues people get into

00:34:31 --> 00:34:32

fights with one another. You should be very

00:34:32 --> 00:34:34

careful about these things.

00:34:34 --> 00:34:36

If you find yourself having hatred for another,

00:34:37 --> 00:34:39

Muslim, this is a really big problem.

00:34:40 --> 00:34:42

This is a really big problem.

00:34:42 --> 00:34:44

It's one thing. Okay. So and so brother,

00:34:45 --> 00:34:46

you know, got up and gave a chutba

00:34:46 --> 00:34:48

and the masjid about the virtues of eating

00:34:48 --> 00:34:49

pork. Okay. That's fine. That's a very clear

00:34:49 --> 00:34:51

violation of the Sharia and,

00:34:52 --> 00:34:54

that's a that's a reason to, like, you

00:34:54 --> 00:34:56

know, not be cool with somebody. But a

lot of these things have they're not anything

00:34:58 --> 00:34:59

near near,

00:34:59 --> 00:35:01

that clear cut. And so if you really,

really dislike a person,

00:35:05 --> 00:35:08

because of some personal issue

00:35:09 --> 00:35:11

Or, you think it's because of a deen

00:35:11 --> 00:35:13

issue, but it's one of those things that,

00:35:13 --> 00:35:14

you know, they happen to people.

00:35:15 --> 00:35:17

And you can't and rather than making dua,

00:35:17 --> 00:35:20

you find yourself rather than making dua for

00:35:20 --> 00:35:22

that person's rectification and guidance, you hope something

00:35:22 --> 00:35:24

bad happens to them. This is a real

00:35:24 --> 00:35:26

problem. This is a sign that that that

00:35:26 --> 00:35:27

that Allah

00:35:28 --> 00:35:29

in his,

00:35:30 --> 00:35:30

in his,

00:35:31 --> 00:35:32

you know,

00:35:32 --> 00:35:34

his attitude toward you,

00:35:35 --> 00:35:36

he wishes

00:35:36 --> 00:35:38

for you a bad faith

00:35:39 --> 00:35:41

because you see the means to that bad

00:35:41 --> 00:35:43

end already inside of you. So someone will

00:35:43 --> 00:35:45

say, well, Sheikh, I don't wanna go to

00:35:45 --> 00:35:47

Jahannam, and I respect this hadith a lot,

00:35:47 --> 00:35:50

and stuff. But, like, I really genuinely dislike

00:35:50 --> 00:35:52

so and so. Look. This is not about,

00:35:52 --> 00:35:54

like, people not getting along.

00:36:00 --> 00:36:03

That the the the the souls are all

00:36:03 --> 00:36:04

like an army

00:36:04 --> 00:36:05

arranged in ranks.

00:36:06 --> 00:36:08

So whoever's rank is close to yours, you'll

00:36:08 --> 00:36:10

get along with that person. Whoever is far

00:36:10 --> 00:36:12

away that you don't know from the world

00:36:12 --> 00:36:13

of of spirits,

00:36:13 --> 00:36:15

you may not get along with them. This

00:36:15 --> 00:36:16

happens that there there may be a person

00:36:16 --> 00:36:19

who is a righteous person, a pious person.

00:36:19 --> 00:36:21

They just rub you the wrong way. You

00:36:21 --> 00:36:23

just like everything they say you disagree with,

00:36:24 --> 00:36:24

and,

00:36:25 --> 00:36:27

you know, you just you just don't have

00:36:27 --> 00:36:29

fun with that person. That's fine.

00:36:30 --> 00:36:31

That happens.

00:36:31 --> 00:36:33

You know? And if you avoid a person

00:36:33 --> 00:36:35

because they just annoy you,

00:36:35 --> 00:36:37

that's okay as well. In fact, sometimes it's

00:36:37 --> 00:36:38

for the better.

00:36:40 --> 00:36:40

But

00:36:41 --> 00:36:43

there's a difference between that and being like,

00:36:43 --> 00:36:44

yeah. I just don't get along with that

00:36:44 --> 00:36:47

person. And there's a difference between, like, actually

00:36:47 --> 00:36:48

wanting ill to happen to somebody

00:36:49 --> 00:36:50

or or really dislike or going out of

00:36:50 --> 00:36:52

your way to say bad things about them

00:36:52 --> 00:36:54

or do to make their life difficult or

00:36:54 --> 00:36:56

whatever. There's a difference between the 2 of

00:36:56 --> 00:36:58

them. If you find inside of your heart

00:36:58 --> 00:36:59

that you actually hate somebody,

00:37:00 --> 00:37:01

from the people of this Ummah,

00:37:02 --> 00:37:04

this is a bad sign, but there are

00:37:04 --> 00:37:05

remedies for that.

00:37:05 --> 00:37:08

The first is to realize that this is

00:37:08 --> 00:37:10

not gonna end well, which is what we're

00:37:10 --> 00:37:11

talking about right now in this hadith.

00:37:12 --> 00:37:14

The next thing is what Is that,

00:37:14 --> 00:37:15

a person should,

00:37:16 --> 00:37:18

you know, attempt to,

00:37:19 --> 00:37:22

actively because you can't control your emotions times,

00:37:22 --> 00:37:24

but you can control your deeds.

00:37:24 --> 00:37:27

So actively try to, you know, do something

00:37:27 --> 00:37:28

good or say something nice to that person.

00:37:29 --> 00:37:31

Saying nice things to people is absolutely free

00:37:31 --> 00:37:34

and it it it goes a long ways.

00:37:35 --> 00:37:36

Okay? So for example,

00:37:38 --> 00:37:39

you know,

00:37:40 --> 00:37:42

everybody looks at each other. You can find

00:37:42 --> 00:37:44

20 things to criticize about the next person

00:37:44 --> 00:37:46

and maybe only one thing that you could

00:37:46 --> 00:37:48

say nice about them, and it may be

00:37:48 --> 00:37:49

a stretch. Choose to say the one thing

00:37:49 --> 00:37:51

and leave choose to leave the 20 things.

00:37:51 --> 00:37:53

The world would be a better place if

00:37:53 --> 00:37:55

people just said nice stuff to each other.

00:37:55 --> 00:37:57

And some people think that, oh, this is

00:37:57 --> 00:37:58

just like,

00:37:59 --> 00:38:01

you're just being a because inside your heart

00:38:01 --> 00:38:02

you really hate that person.

00:38:02 --> 00:38:04

Your complete and,

00:38:04 --> 00:38:05

unqualified

00:38:05 --> 00:38:08

sincerity only belongs to Allah Ta'ala. Any other

00:38:08 --> 00:38:10

human being, if you're that sincere with them,

00:38:10 --> 00:38:11

they're gonna hate you.

00:38:11 --> 00:38:13

Don't be that sincere with them.

00:38:14 --> 00:38:16

Anyone who's married or looking to get married,

00:38:17 --> 00:38:18

don't be that sincere with your spouse unless

00:38:18 --> 00:38:20

you wanna get something thrown at you.

00:38:21 --> 00:38:24

Why? Because that's for Allah Ta'ala. Don't you

00:38:24 --> 00:38:25

even your parents. Right? You don't have to

00:38:25 --> 00:38:27

tell them every single thing you did.

00:38:28 --> 00:38:30

If you know they're not gonna like you

00:38:30 --> 00:38:32

coming to Darce, you don't have to, like,

00:38:32 --> 00:38:33

stay home and not come to Darce.

00:38:33 --> 00:38:35

If they ask you where did you go

00:38:35 --> 00:38:37

and you stopped at Starbucks on the way

00:38:37 --> 00:38:38

over to Darce, say, yeah, I went with

00:38:38 --> 00:38:40

my friends and I went to Starbucks, and

00:38:40 --> 00:38:40

that's it.

00:38:42 --> 00:38:44

Why? Because that full level of disclosure and

00:38:44 --> 00:38:46

sincerity is only for Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:38:46 --> 00:38:49

It's not for anybody else. The rest of

00:38:49 --> 00:38:49

people,

00:38:49 --> 00:38:51

don't lie to them, but say things to

00:38:51 --> 00:38:52

them in a way that's not gonna annoy

00:38:52 --> 00:38:54

them or, like, make them, like, ballistic go

00:38:54 --> 00:38:56

through the roof. That's just part of being

00:38:56 --> 00:38:57

a good person.

00:38:57 --> 00:38:59

You're okay you're doing it out of concern

00:38:59 --> 00:39:00

for that person.

00:39:00 --> 00:39:02

So modify the way you speak with them.

00:39:02 --> 00:39:04

Try to say something nice to them next

00:39:04 --> 00:39:05

time you see them or whatever.

00:39:05 --> 00:39:08

Some people, even that's not gonna help. Even

00:39:08 --> 00:39:09

as as nice as you are to them,

they're always gonna react in some way that,

00:39:11 --> 00:39:13

like, completely makes you, like,

00:39:14 --> 00:39:16

upset and angry. It happens. What are you

00:39:16 --> 00:39:17

gonna do about it?

00:39:17 --> 00:39:18

The last the last,

00:39:19 --> 00:39:21

line of defense, which is a very,

00:39:21 --> 00:39:22

very powerful,

00:39:23 --> 00:39:24

very powerful

one, is that that person,

00:39:26 --> 00:39:28

even if you have to find yourself having

00:39:28 --> 00:39:30

to avoid seeing them in order to not

00:39:30 --> 00:39:32

make things escalate more,

00:39:32 --> 00:39:34

When you're away from them, sit and make

00:39:34 --> 00:39:36

dua for them. Grab your grab your phone

00:39:36 --> 00:39:38

or your watch and your timer,

00:39:39 --> 00:39:39

and

00:39:39 --> 00:39:42

just say, I'm gonna sit for 5 minutes,

00:39:42 --> 00:39:43

for 10 minutes, and just make dua for

00:39:43 --> 00:39:45

them. Make dua for everything, for their duniya

00:39:45 --> 00:39:47

and for their akhirah and for their kids

00:39:47 --> 00:39:49

and for their marriage and for their house

00:39:49 --> 00:39:51

and for their job and for their school

00:39:51 --> 00:39:52

and everything.

00:39:52 --> 00:39:54

When you've made dua for a person for

00:39:54 --> 00:39:55

just 5 minutes,

00:39:56 --> 00:39:59

as much as you're able to, then naturally,

00:39:59 --> 00:40:02

the heart will wish for their, wish for

00:40:02 --> 00:40:02

their well-being.

00:40:04 --> 00:40:06

And after that, if you need to avoid

00:40:06 --> 00:40:07

the person in order to not, like, hate

00:40:07 --> 00:40:10

them more, then go ahead and do so.

00:40:10 --> 00:40:13

And the rule for avoiding people is what?

00:40:13 --> 00:40:15

If that that that you can only do

00:40:15 --> 00:40:16

it within a certain boundary.

00:40:17 --> 00:40:18

What is that boundary? If you see them

00:40:18 --> 00:40:20

and they you should say salam to them.

00:40:20 --> 00:40:21

If they say salam to you, you should

say,

and it's recommended afterward that you should cursory

like, have a cursory amount of conversation. How's

your family? How are your parents, etcetera?

So you don't just say, Assalamualaikum waikum. Then

the person will know you hate them, but

you're just following the bare minimum of the

Sharia. You dress it up a little bit

00:40:39 --> 00:40:41

just, you know, just so it's not that

00:40:41 --> 00:40:44

obvious. And, but, you know, if after like,

00:40:44 --> 00:40:45

you know, a couple of like questions and

00:40:45 --> 00:40:47

things like that about well-being, you bounce.

00:40:48 --> 00:40:50

Don't don't spend time with people who are

00:40:50 --> 00:40:51

gonna annoy snot out of you. It's just

00:40:51 --> 00:40:52

a waste of your time, and it's a

00:40:52 --> 00:40:54

waste of their time as well. If someone

00:40:54 --> 00:40:55

ever comes to you to hang out and

00:40:55 --> 00:40:57

you don't and they annoy you, don't by

00:40:57 --> 00:40:58

all means, don't hang out with them. But

00:40:58 --> 00:41:00

if anyone comes to you and needs help,

00:41:00 --> 00:41:01

then help them.

00:41:02 --> 00:41:05

Because even annoying people need help sometimes.

And when you help them at that time,

00:41:07 --> 00:41:09

that will do a lot go a long

00:41:09 --> 00:41:10

ways in order to,

00:41:10 --> 00:41:13

make the relationship between you and them better.

00:41:13 --> 00:41:15

This applies to relatives. This applies to a

00:41:15 --> 00:41:16

a lot of different types of people.

00:41:17 --> 00:41:18

But you're not allowed to if you see

00:41:18 --> 00:41:20

in your heart that there's like you just

00:41:20 --> 00:41:21

feel like I really wish this guy would

00:41:21 --> 00:41:23

like, you know, like a car would run

00:41:23 --> 00:41:25

into him or something like that, from the

00:41:25 --> 00:41:27

people of it's not a good sign.

00:41:28 --> 00:41:29

Signs and it's very wrong in the heart.

So Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam narrates from the

Lord,

most high. Whoever makes an enemy of a

00:41:37 --> 00:41:39

friend of mine, I declare war on them.

they'll keep doing that until they cross a

00:49:21 --> 00:49:22

certain,

00:49:22 --> 00:49:23

certain limit.

00:49:23 --> 00:49:26

And once they cross that limit, then I

00:49:26 --> 00:49:26

love them.

00:49:28 --> 00:49:31

That a person becomes officially the the person

00:49:31 --> 00:49:33

becomes officially one of the people that Allah

00:49:33 --> 00:49:34

loves.

00:49:35 --> 00:49:37

This Maqam and this station is the station

00:49:37 --> 00:49:38

of Allah.

00:49:40 --> 00:49:42

So Allah is pleased with them.

And Allah gave the an announcement in his

book with regards to the Sahaba radiAllahu and

whom that they met they reached the station.

And that's a station that's described by the

messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, with

regards to the veterans of the Battle of

Badr. So what do you know about the

people who were present at the Battle of

Badr that Allah didn't look inside of their

hearts and say to them, do whatever you

want after this day you're forgiven.

This is not just a this is not

just something that happened one time.

Rather, this is something that every generation, every

people,

and every individual, they strive for this.

The only difference between them and us I

shouldn't say the only difference. The difference is

there, but qualitatively the difference between them and

us is that the messenger of Allah sallallahu

we don't know for sure, we just keep

deeds and our worship and the hope that

00:50:40 --> 00:50:42

we cross the line. Maybe somebody cross that

00:50:42 --> 00:50:45

line years ago. Everything else that they do

00:50:45 --> 00:50:47

is just, is just bonus round for them.

00:50:47 --> 00:50:49

And maybe somebody will get to that line

00:50:49 --> 00:50:51

before they die. So maybe some someone won't

00:50:51 --> 00:50:53

get to that. But that's that's what the

00:50:53 --> 00:50:56

highest objective of Islam is is to reach

00:50:56 --> 00:50:57

that that that that point where a lot

00:50:57 --> 00:50:59

says to the slave that this one, I

00:50:59 --> 00:51:01

love him or I love her. This is

00:51:01 --> 00:51:02

a person. I love this person.

00:51:03 --> 00:51:05

And then what happens after that? Allah says

what happens after that.

if he asks me something, indeed, I will

give it to him.

And if he seeks refuge in me, indeed,

00:51:24 --> 00:51:26

I will, protect him from whatever he seeks

00:51:26 --> 00:51:28

refuge in me from. And in the in

00:51:28 --> 00:51:30

in the longer the rest of the,

00:51:31 --> 00:51:31

Allah

00:51:32 --> 00:51:33

says that there's nothing,

00:51:34 --> 00:51:36

that that that there's nothing that

there's nothing that, I hesitate from more than

my hesitation in taking a person's,

soul and death

these things, these are all metaphors.

Allah does whatever he wills. He doesn't hesitate

in anything that he does. But the idea

is what is that Allah is cognizant, Allah

00:51:58 --> 00:52:00

is cognizant of the fact that a person

00:52:00 --> 00:52:01

dislikes to die.

00:52:02 --> 00:52:03

But even then,

00:52:03 --> 00:52:05

the way it's worded, it indicates that it's

00:52:05 --> 00:52:07

for the better it's for for the betterment

00:52:07 --> 00:52:08

of the person,

00:52:09 --> 00:52:11

that he does these things and there's a

00:52:11 --> 00:52:12

great faith in it for them. And if

00:52:12 --> 00:52:14

it wasn't, he wouldn't he he wouldn't have

00:52:14 --> 00:52:16

done that. If there wasn't something so much

00:52:16 --> 00:52:18

better than the life of this world

00:52:18 --> 00:52:20

for such a person who Allah loves, Allah

00:52:20 --> 00:52:22

Ta' would have let let him live forever.

00:52:24 --> 00:52:26

And that's what the meaning that's what the

00:52:26 --> 00:52:28

meaning of, of of the hadith is. But

the idea is this is a very special

maqam that a person who lives in this

in perpetuity.

This is a very special maqam that a

person has with Allah ta'ala. This is the

00:52:38 --> 00:52:39

highest objective

of of of a person's having been created.

00:52:42 --> 00:52:44

When a person crosses this line, then indeed

00:52:44 --> 00:52:46

a human being's maqam becomes higher than that

00:52:46 --> 00:52:47

of the angels.

00:52:49 --> 00:52:49

And,

00:52:50 --> 00:52:52

it's it's something that that that gives life

00:52:52 --> 00:52:54

meaning in this world and it gives,

00:52:55 --> 00:52:55

life,

00:52:56 --> 00:52:58

a great sweetness in the hereafter as well.

their nafs.

The nafs want something and the person wants

something else.

00:53:36 --> 00:53:37

You have to show the nafs who's boss.

If you let it run you, you'll live

00:53:40 --> 00:53:42

life like life like an animal.

00:53:42 --> 00:53:43

Everything you you see in front of you,

you eat it. Every desire you see in

00:53:45 --> 00:53:47

front of you, you run after it. You

00:53:47 --> 00:53:50

no longer control your destiny. Rather, your destiny

is is controlled by,

is controlled by the the the base desires

00:53:55 --> 00:53:57

in a person, and a person has no

00:53:57 --> 00:53:59

resemblance any longer to the angels. Rather, they're,

they they they become the, they become just

00:54:03 --> 00:54:07

a, you know, a a less hairy form

00:54:07 --> 00:54:07

of an ape,

00:54:08 --> 00:54:09

in in the things that they do.

00:54:10 --> 00:54:12

And, that's not that's not what Allah created

us for.

As for the one who fears,

gonna make a person not like wealth anymore.

There are certain individuals who may not have

those shahawat

and those are because of, like, psychological,

illnesses

physical,

disabilities.

hate yourself for having them.

And some desires are, you know, what we

would say are unnatural.

For the person, they may be natural because

they're born that way, but they're unnatural, you

know, and compared to general society. Like the

attraction that a man has for another man.

Some people say that they're they're born with

it. Some people say, no. That's not possible.

What if they were born with it? What's

what's different then?

Do you think what a heterosexual man is

not attracted to women and doesn't have thoughts

cross their mind of doing something around with

a woman all the time as well?

The point is not to hate yourself. And

this idea, this is some sort of, like,

a folkloric Sufism that people spread amongst each

zikr enough or if you make make sure

you eat halal and you're a pious person,

that one day these desires will go away.

Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam, they never left

him. They never left the Sahaba radiAllahu ta'ala

on whom

in fact,

someone came to say the Aisha radiAllahu Anha,

and he said, oh, you know,

how blessed was the messenger of Allah sallallahu

alaihi sallam. Allah forgave him all of his

sins already.

you know, I fast all day and all

but he was more in control of his

desires than anyone.

And he didn't do what you're doing. He

some fasted some days and he ate some

days.

And he, spent some night part of the

night in tahajjud, and he spent some night,

00:57:41 --> 00:57:43

with his, with his wives.

00:57:43 --> 00:57:45

The idea is that you have to bring

the desires to heal to the point where

00:57:48 --> 00:57:49

they obey you.

00:57:50 --> 00:57:52

And it's not the relationship is that they

00:57:52 --> 00:57:53

obey you, you don't obey them.

00:57:54 --> 00:57:56

Otherwise, if they were evil. Right?

So there are certain pleasures in Jannah.

make a paradise for you in which you

do those things that you, you know, hate

anyway in this world?

Rather, there's a discussion amongst the olema with

regards to jannah

that which pleasures will be there in jannah

and which ones won't be there. So in

00:58:41 --> 00:58:42

Jannah, will a person be able to rob

00:58:42 --> 00:58:44

a liquor store or brutally murder other people?

00:58:46 --> 00:58:46

No.

00:58:47 --> 00:58:48

Because these are considered sicknesses.

00:58:49 --> 00:58:50

There are people who have desires for these

00:58:50 --> 00:58:51

things as well.

00:58:52 --> 00:58:53

There are people who have desires for to

00:58:53 --> 00:58:55

commit violence on other people. Those people, if

00:58:55 --> 00:58:58

they restrain themselves from acting on their desires,

00:58:59 --> 00:59:01

then what will happen? Allah will cure them

00:59:01 --> 00:59:02

of them in the hereafter.

00:59:03 --> 00:59:05

But there are certain desires that are natural

00:59:05 --> 00:59:08

that that a person has. Those ones will

00:59:08 --> 00:59:09

actually be indulged in Jannah.

00:59:10 --> 00:59:12

So, yes, people may not be robbing liquor

00:59:12 --> 00:59:13

stores and shooting each other and stabbing 1,

00:59:13 --> 00:59:15

shanking 1 another, like, you know, like a

00:59:15 --> 00:59:17

bad prison movie, blood in, blood out or

00:59:17 --> 00:59:19

whatever. And, like, it's not that's not how

00:59:19 --> 00:59:21

it's gonna be because those things are ugly

00:59:21 --> 00:59:21

things.

00:59:22 --> 00:59:24

But there are certain desires that a person

00:59:24 --> 00:59:25

have that are natural.

00:59:26 --> 00:59:28

Those desires will be indulged in a way

00:59:28 --> 00:59:30

that they're not indulged in this world.

00:59:31 --> 00:59:33

Why? Because they're not evil things. The is

00:59:34 --> 00:59:36

not to kill you and, like, make you

00:59:36 --> 00:59:38

into a person who is,

00:59:38 --> 00:59:40

abnormal and unnatural.

00:59:40 --> 00:59:42

There's no zikr that does that. The point

00:59:42 --> 00:59:43

of it is not to get rid of

00:59:43 --> 00:59:45

these desires completely.

00:59:46 --> 00:59:47

The people who think that they do end

00:59:47 --> 00:59:49

up abusing altar boys,

00:59:50 --> 00:59:52

It's not possible. When it does happen, it's

00:59:52 --> 00:59:54

wrong. And when a person thinks it happened

00:59:54 --> 00:59:56

but it didn't happen, it goes even more

00:59:56 --> 00:59:56

wrong.

Rather, it's to bring the desires to heal

00:59:59 --> 01:00:00

that they should be indulgent in a lawful

01:00:00 --> 01:00:02

way and that they don't get the upper

hand over you. Otherwise, it's a sunnah to

self esteem generation of, like, the entire mankind.

We pump ourselves and pump each other up

and tell each other about, oh, don't ever

give up hope and you're you know, you

can succeed and you can be anything and

but then the the the spiritual world is

opposite of the of the physical world. We

say these things to each other. It betrays

our complete insecurity.

Why? Because we're the ones in the slightest

setback, we're the first ones to give up.

When the slightest setback, we're the first ones

anymore. They stop making vickers. Some people start

stop praying. You know, you see something happens

in life and it's a setback

and people give up. And I I apologize.

Maybe some of the, like, the the examples

at people. They forgot. They're the ones who

abandoned who abandoned the Masjid and fled.

Khayr, we won't hold it against them. We

won't call them out by name.

But the thing is this, is that what?

Are you gonna be the one who's gonna

like, when the going gets tough, you're gonna

everything is going good, you're gonna say, oh,

Allah is masha'Allah, alhamdulillah, masha'Allah, and Allah is

get tough, you're gonna say, oh, why me

and, you know, I don't know if Allah

day will make the progress that they wouldn't

have made in 40 years.

There's some very strange tests, personal matters

between husband and wife, between parents and children,

in the job and work, things like that.

You will sometimes, you'll receive more spiritual progress

in certain mundane tests than you will in

years of worship.

The years of worship prepare you to be

able to, survive those those types of tests.

The idea is this is that what is

that you know, Hadith like this, they give

a person hope that when you're struggling

when you're struggling, even the little bit that

you do that looks like nothing in your

in your life. Right? I know some people,

they've gone through so much

difficulty. They say, Sheikh, I have a hard

time, praying.

I can't even bring myself to make wudu

01:07:34 --> 01:07:35

and pray.

Maybe if you're in a state like that,

forcing yourself, make mujaha, the habit that a

01:07:41 --> 01:07:42

person has

01:07:42 --> 01:07:44

to oppose their own nafs.

Forcing yourself to go and make wudu. Forcing

01:07:47 --> 01:07:49

yourself to go and pray, forcing yourself to

01:07:49 --> 01:07:50

pray your sunnahs,

01:07:50 --> 01:07:52

forcing yourself to return the salaam to the

01:07:52 --> 01:07:54

person you don't wanna return their salaam, forcing

01:07:54 --> 01:07:56

yourself to go to the masjid for jumu'a,

01:07:57 --> 01:07:59

Forcing yourself to do all of these things,

01:07:59 --> 01:08:02

sometimes there's more barakah in those, one act

01:08:02 --> 01:08:03

of worship than if you were to enjoy

01:08:03 --> 01:08:05

it to do it for the whole,

01:08:05 --> 01:08:07

for for a whole lifetime.

That's where the openings come from. You don't

see the opening in this world. You see

it when? In the hereafter sometimes. Sometimes you'll

go through a whole life of like that.

Imagine that. You see this, like, for and

be negative. It's not good to be, like,

unnecessarily negative, but, also, it's not good to

keep your head in the ground. You should

be objective.
