But I understand that this is something that I choose to do. I don't feel that this is an obligation of my religion to dress, you know, with this, this particular garment, I do feel that it's an obligation of our religion to dress modestly. I do that it's an obligation within our Deen to do everything in accordance to the deen and in in attempts to please
Allah subhanho wa Taala. But I do not think that we have to wear a lot of kameez, or we have to wear or we have to even wear a dopey right on our heads or hat on our heads today I'm wearing one because usually, Fridays are weird. And one of the reasons why I wear is, of course, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam usually would have his head covered, but he lived in the desert. And that's known why he would do that, especially in the desert. But
one of the reasons and I'll be totally honest with you, us as humans, we've been advised that we advise each other to constantly respect people's culture, you cannot get to the hearts of others if you're not going to respect their culture. And so one of the ways in respecting people's culture is that when you come to Mara, right, especially through the Juma prayer, you wear something on your head on your head, or hat or something on your head. Why? Because people will focus sometimes so much on the little things, right? They'll be like, Oh, he's not wearing it up on his head. He's, you know, not a good Muslim. And sadly, we're not supposed to live according to that, though, not
because we don't advise people, you know, what if you're getting sleep and where to eat, because, you know,
because you have to otherwise people won't listen to you know,
it because first of all, you're doing it to please Allah subhanho attentionally make sort of image to the public as well. I was finally reunited with one of my friends that I met in new many, many years ago, my very first roommate in Medina. And a lot of people wonder like, okay, what's the big deal? Canada student going to a land that spoke Arabic that I had only visited once before when I was seven. And went to MIT. I didn't know a single word of Arabic. All I knew was a said Mr. alikum walaikum salam. And if someone asked How are you? Right? Or they say to
God, golly, God is saying, and you just say hamdulillah. Right. But I didn't know how to even ask how are you in Arabic. And so my first roommate, he you know, we studied in Medina together, he spoke French. He helped me out to LA he took me in for my interview and all that. Long story short, when he graduated 14 years ago, to that I had zero contact with him. I had no idea where he was. I didn't know what I knew he was back in his country. But you know, when people live in countries where there's no not much internet usage, they don't use social media as much as we do. And he's from Niger, an African country.
He comes from a village and there's like poverty, very, very simple lifestyle, simple, simple lifestyle. And so Pamela, just a few days ago, two days ago, you know, I had been sending him emails on his old address and there was an email exchange about three years ago and I didn't know about it. I didn't see the email
in my inbox,
You know, I ended up finding out about it years later, I kind of left for Finally, he sends me a message on my phone
on July 1, so I get up in the morning and I turn on my internet and I see that there's a message there from him. hamdulillah. Right. And you know, when I look back at it, I'm like, if I was in touch with him for all these years, I probably be like, okay,

Right. But the fact that I, my heart loves him, and long to, you know, speak to him. And he's one of the most sincere, most genuine people I ever met. He's probably one of the most, I could probably say he's the first person that I met, who was the first person I lived with other than other than family who came from another country, because I lived in boarding schools when I was younger.
So I had that experience when I was younger, but I never lived with anyone from another country, let alone another country. Right. So
he said, Pamela is probably one of the most sincere, genuine people as much as he lives in a very simple,
you know, kind of lifestyle. Now, he never asked me for $1, he never asked me for any money. And I've had hundreds, maybe even 1000s of people who, when I travel around the world's who know that we live in Canada, we come from Canada, they asked us for financial help, right? Because they're like, Oh, you make dollars and dollars are good. And so somehow this is one brother shift said Raj is graduate from the faculty of Hadith from the University of Medina. And he lives in this village now in Kenji, right in the southern about southeast part of Nigeria, just about 35 kilometers away from the border of Nigeria. And so, you know, this is someone who's so sincere and so genuine. And when
he reached out to me, I thought to myself, this is the plan of a lot of panic. A lot of wanted us to be away from each other for so many years, 14 years, 14 years, we didn't communicate with each other. And now a loss of hand was added, brought us back together. So we see here in this story, a lot brings the souls together, right. And so these men, they came together, and they adopted a particular location in their land for them to worship of balsa wood.
