asking a question, right, you will see how Allah subhanaw taala at times asks a question to trigger thoughts within the mind of the reader. And so teaching skills

is one thing that we learned as well within the Quran, how Allah Subhana Allah teaches us. And so you'll notice that you know, those of you who may be teachers, you know that these are all skills that are used within the classroom. You ask students questions to pro bots, you can story

is to capture their attention. You sometimes are very direct and other times you will leave them during. Right? They're completely lost. Like check it out says the cliffhanger. Right. He uses that term all the time. cliffhanger. Right, leaving you waiting and wanting for more and searching for what is true. And Allah subhanaw taala does that within the plan as well. Right? in the fourth verse about dreams, Yusuf Ali Hassan saw in his dream, he says, India at Ashoka worship so we'll come along I told Lisa G Dean, he says to his father, I have seen in my dream 1111 stars worships and the sun, welcome and the moon I saw all of them prostrating to me. They were bowing down prostrating to me.

Now he saw this in a dream. And he told his father at the time, dream interpretation was common. And it was something that many people did, as they would try to find out what their dreams met Jacoba Alayhis Salam was skilled in this art of interpreting dreams. But he did not tell his son the answer to his dream.

And the beautiful thing of this surah if you read through from the beginning till the end, if you pay attention to this verse, and then how we are co Valley his setup says to his son, Oh, my dear son, do not relate to your vision to your brothers, or they will devise a plot ticket against you surely shaped been sworn enemy to humankind. We shouldn't disregard it. But sometimes the younger generation I was having this discussion the other day with my wife, we were saying the younger generation we criticized so much like if I was to say my age group, right around the 30 to 4030 or 41, right. But that 30 to 45 age group or even 50 We criticize too much, or hung Allah our parents brought us to these countries to this country or, you know, brought us to places where we would be more educated. And because we got an education, we feel that we know everything.

That's a problem with

we feel that we know everything our parents worked really hard,

really hard to establish themselves here to come from other countries getting jobs like living in, you know, small apartments, not eating much food, you know, just

scraping by Allah, we have so much more. And because we're educated, we think that we know how to do things better.

But when it comes to really doing the dirty work, like these brothers, I'm so thankful that they're doing this, right, they're doing the dirty work. They're doing the dirty work that no one else wants to do. Right? When it comes to really doing the dirty work. My generation, we don't do the dirty work.

Like if I was to ask you, how many 30 to 45 year olds do we see active in our budget?

Maybe we can even point out more than four or five?

From the volunteers. Yeah, but

how many of the volunteers are between the ages?

Or even 50? How many? It's wondered that you realize the importance of the muscles, and the importance of being connected to it doing the dirty work because we're not paid to do it. But really, when you think of that age range, even younger, if you go 20 to 40, where the 20 to 40 year olds.

We might we start here, but are they ready to work ready to do something? Like I'll use this as an example. I don't see if he's not here tonight. But the other night I mentioned something similar and said you know we should work hard. We see something needs to be done good deeds do it like and I gave him the example of arranging

Right in his dream, he sees something he tells his father, his father does not tell them what it means. But his father knows what the dream means. And he keeps himself. And fast forward decades later, when he's saying I smell the scent of use of I can feel use of is near his family is telling him, you're just

lost in your old ways. You don't know what you're talking about. That's wisdom. You know, the elderly, sometimes they have wisdom that we don't cherish. And we don't appreciate it, we don't understand its wisdom that came from Allah subhanho wa Taala had.

So use of Allah, he said, he doesn't tell his his brothers. And he goes out, and he plays with his brothers and his father, no brothers are going to plan something because there's already friction between them. And he tells them, look, I'm only going to let use of go with you, if you promise to take care of him and look after him. And they're like, Yeah, don't worry, we're going to take care of him looking after him. And really, what they want to do is just get rid of you. So all the attention themselves, give us we should not favor a child or two over the others.

Never favor one child over the other child.

So if you have two children, and I know this because we have two children, if you favor one child, the other one will let you know that you favored the other one, right. But if you have more children, it's like, kind of gets lost in translation. But

so I was going to mention that. So as your brother was saying, sometimes it's natural that we feel more love towards one child than another, that's fine. That's permissible, that's natural. Yeah, but keep it within you. Don't let that child know or feel that you prefer that child over the others.

Even though Allah has put something in your heart for one child over, while at the same time, sometimes as parents, we feel less love towards one child. And we feel like, I can't love this child as much. I don't know why I just can't come closer to this child. Right? It's just something something with their personality and parents personality just doesn't click, and they just feel the connection.

That that's natural. But we shouldn't let that child feel that they're not loved. We should love them anyway. And love and make them feel loved and cared for them look after them. Right?

Why do you want to put it out there before you scratch the wall? Or do you you don't care about scratching the wall.

Just I don't want to be blamed for you guys getting the TV to work. And then the walls

of the Logitech

so loving one child over another, we should be fair, and this gets a lot more and even selling gave examples, you know some of some of the Sahaba or the Allama. And they bought something for one child and not for the others. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Either you give the same to all of your children or you don't give it to this child. Right? Give the you know, fair towards all children, but don't single one child out. Now of course, there can be certain layers or levels of doing this, for example, you know, you might have one child that's a teenager going to school needs a laptop for some, you know, for schooling or needs a phone for, you know, safety purposes

communication. Now, that doesn't mean because you buy the 16 year old child, the phone, that you're going to buy the six year old child, the phone as well, you know, you tell the six year old when you reach 16, this will be something that inshallah if it's needed will get for you as well. But the world is probably going to be very different by the time they get there, right? So you make it known that this is something I'm doing for this child now. That's because they need it at their age, but when you reach that age, inshallah you will also get certain things, okay, so we don't have to just do don't take the advice of the prophets, or whatever it was, some of you literally tend to that

you're just going to apply it like that. No, we have to apply it with wisdom with Heckman. So the brothers will request Yeah, go back to his Sam to allow use of fatty SNM to go with them.

And of course they go and they play and they put use of a little snowmen the ball on the bottom of the well. You know they take his shirt, they kill an animal they stain the shirt.

So, right they bring it back to the Father, and they show him and they say, Look, you know, this happened, a killer who, you know, he was eaten by a wolf. And you know, this is this is what happened use of his God.

They're tricking their father who was a prophet of Allah who knows the interpretation to the dream that he is about to his setup. And

so they think they're smarter than their father. But the reality is, their father outsmarted them, and already knows that they're up to no good. He already knew that they were lying to him.

But he bore that hardship and took it within him and trusted Allah subhanho wa taala. He trusted Allah subhanaw taala.

If you fast forward in the story, you see the use of it, his setup was found right use of it, his senate was found by a caravan that was passing through the area. And of course, anytime a caravan is passing through an area just like us, when we were traveling down the 401, let's say you're going to Montreal, you're hungry, you're thirsty, you stop where the food is. At the enroute, you stop, you get gassed, you get some food, some snacks, and then you get back in your car and you go same with them, their time they were travel, taking the routes, and they would stop at the wells, wherever there was a well, there was food there was water. And usually around a well, you'll find some sort

of agriculture that might grow as well, because there's water in the area. And so that was a natural place to stop. And the brothers knew that someone would stop there. And so Hamdulillah, Yusuf alayhi salam was taken out of the well. And now because there's no link to him and his family.

There's no way of knowing there's not a third person there's no one there there's no question there's no note there's no messing showing the use of it, this belongs to so and so family or tribe. At the time, anyone who was found was taken in

kind of like a captive, but more as you know, a servant like you're going to be working with us now you're going to work with our family. And so they brought him to Egypt, where they were traveling to and then in Egypt, there was a slave market where you can go and purchase a slave that will work for you right this was going back many many years, this was how things were done. And so, they purchased use of it in the center and was sold and purchased in the market. And he was purchased by who

the ICS right he was purchased by the ICS who brought use of it to send them into his home and this you know, leader of the people raised use of either his setup but also use have worked for them and serve them. he feared Allah subhanaw taala he did not want to do anything that would displease Allah. And so when she came to approach him

he ran from her

and she ran after him

and tried to catch, catch use of

and what we see happening is an interesting aspect to this to the story.

Allah subhanaw taala says it was a party of well, that the doors were completely locked, like sealed.

Not that they were closed but emphasis is put on it right that shed was run lock cutting at work, that the doors were completely sealed shut. No one was getting in known as getting out the use of it who said

he was

in there, and all of a sudden the door swung open. The Aziz came in, and he saw what was happening. And he started to question

and he sees that the shirt is ripped.

And it turns out to be that in his center is innocent, because of where his shirt was ripped.

Because she was chasing after him, and use of it instead of defending himself. But in order to honor his wife, he put use of it, he said, I'm in prison.

Sorry, I'm fast forwarding too much, right, should he he was put in prison afterwards, right.

So jumping.

So in order to protect his wife's identity, you know, he spoke to his wife. And, you know, told use of

careful, watch out, don't do this. But then use of Allah has salams

test came once again, where the wife of the Aziz B

invites all Novotel to come.

And she brings Yusuf Ali who set up with them

in order to show that I wasn't doing anything that you wouldn't have done as well, that use of Allah his center was so good looking, we saw handsome that you would have done the same thing. And so she has all these women there gives them fruit, right bowls of fruit and stuff and knives. And you know, when you take fruit, you use a knife to cut the apple or you know, whatever it is, whatever fruit you're going to enjoy. And so use of it has set out comes out in front of the women. And when they see him, they are in awe of how good looking he is.

And as they're cutting his fruit, they slipped the knife and they cut their hands as well. Not that their hands off some nations, you know, people say the women cut their hands off, no, they didn't resolve, you know, when you're cutting something and you're not paying attention, and you cut your fingertip or you cut, you know, somewhere on your hand. That's what happened. Right? Because they were in good looking use of it, his setup was now order to protect the identity and the sanctity of the house of the disease he ordered for use of Allah has set out to be arrested and put into prison.

Because his wife, she couldn't control herself.

And so the use of it has set out and is put in prison years go by. And this is where he trusts Allah subhanho wa taala. And he has patience, right from verses over 35 to 57. He trusts ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada to get him out of prison, but to clear his name.

And there's two daughters that are in prison with him.

And they have these and they asked if I set up can you interpret these dreams, and he interprets them, one of them is good to battery, like one of them the outcome is negative.

And so the one who had this dream who was going to be freed and will work for the king and so

he ends up and and comes out.

And use of Fannie Mae has sent him after

this prisoner in prison with him who's working with the king, the king has a dream as well. And he relates it to his advisors. And among his advisors is this person who's serving them who used to be in prison with use of addicts. And

he says I know Socrates dream for you.

And so he goes to use it use if initially doesn't interpret the dream

right after interpreted dream, his thing is, wait a second.

I need

my

cleared.

Right, I need to be cleared of this act that I was accused of, because I'm not guilty. I'm innocent. So his innocence is what he was looking to be proven.

And so the king accepts that on the on the

on the on the condition interprets the dream.

And so the use of IT IS LM interpreted as this is you know what's going to happen? You're going to have seven years of a point to have seven years of drought and it's going to be difficult and you're going to need to ration off the food and stuff like that. And so the king realizes that use of it his setup is someone who is useful to them, and he appoints use of it his setup as the Minister of, of what

agriculture

Very good. Some people think he's appointed as the Minister of Finance

because the word that comes in is used, but it is not Minister of Finance Minister of Agriculture use of Allah has sent him was responsible for distributing and rationing off the fruit. Okay, that was that was produced.

Now when he's put in this position, now we begin to 13th Joe's, the brothers have use of it, his son and they come and they travel back and forth, right they need to use if they just sit down, they don't know that it's him. They communicate, there's, you know, the gifts that are exchanged, because if you came to get food, you would bring gifts for the king

of Egypt, and you would get food in return and bring back to your people. And so they brought food. Now the issue the incident with Binyamin, right, we're used to fat as Adam had plotted to put the cup the golden cup or on the camel of Binyamin, his brother from the same mother.

His other brothers are from another mother. This is his brother from the same mother. And so he plots this in order to try to get to his father to send a message.

Now some people think use of either his setup cheated, or he did something that was unjust. That was not right. loss of habitat, it clears use of Allah his son's name in the Surah and says that it was ALLAH who inspired Yusuf Ali Hassan to do this. So no one can blame him.

So it works like I don't need to do anything. It's all on his own.

So Yusuf Ali has said

he has a golden vessel put on the being Amin, but Allah clears his name by saying that he was inspired to do so. This is the plan of Allah. There was no other way for this to happen, except the use of did this. And him doing it is not being used to or unjust. It's him being obedient. This is the way I was kind of what I wanted it to be. And so he did it right.

Then the brothers go back. And you know, they come back, once again, when they go back and forth multiple times. Jacoba Alayhis Salam, and then you know, Binyamin stays behind, and they send the brothers forth. And then the older brother says, I'm going to stay you go back and plead with our father and so on. And then use of Allah gives him the shirt shirt to take back, put it over the head of use of Yaqoob. And in his center, and he will smell the smell of use of. And that's where he felt or I'm starting to feel or sense that use of SNL is near. And that's where his family, his relatives, his wives that were around him. They said, Oh, you're just an old man. You're just

thinking of old tough times. He says, no, no, I love use of. And then the brothers come back with the shirt. And they place it over their head over Jacoba his center, and he smells it and he realizes, Oh, this is useless. I don't hit send up. And then they bring the whole family into Egypt. And then they're there, they're reunited. And that was the interpretation of the dream of use of Fattah his setup, that his mother, his father, right, the chumps have come up the sun and the moon and the 11 stars. Those are his 11 Brothers, or a two humulene that they're all prostrating to use a fatty setup. And that's what they did. They came to Egypt and when they entered the bow down, they

fell down and beat it to use of Attica setup, not out of worship.

In some cultures that are they go down, they touch the feet of their mother. You know, sometimes they kiss the feet of their parents. You know, they know this is something that we don't do we only bow down and prostrate to Allah subhanaw taala. And we do this in our Salah and our prayers. Yes.

Yes.

Like in martial arts, many types of martial arts. This is why when we asked them

what's the word of like before? senseis. Right? Who know that within Islam, this is not permissible. They don't. They don't ask or request their students to

write like, our daughter is to a dojo in Mississauga. And it's a Bosnian covenant and wife, they own and run

the karate dojo. And, and they never asked. The students especially like our children are part of a home's karate class.

Every Tuesday morning.

They don't bow down.

They don't bow to the sensei. And of course, we know.

Yes, sir. Many scholars, especially in North America, or more specifically in who say, It's okay, it's fine. Right? But no, we should show our aesthetic values and principles and we should not be shy to speak up about it and express it to even our non Muslim friends and family, classmates even you know, senseis dojos. It let them know that

as Muslims, we don't do this. Right. And hamdulillah that's, you know, it's nice to see that we have Muslims that that trumps in martial arts and then are able to give back to the community as well and instill principles of Islam within it.

I know, when I was a student in Malaysia, one of my classmates Talmud

is name amongst us was that route, but his Chinese name was Majan. That

merging them check. Merging then is much a lot of work a lot an email back in in China, and a professor at the University as well. SubhanAllah. He's black belt, in Muslim kung fu.

And I was really intrigued by it. When when I met him as a student, he was our classmate, but also he lived just above us in the building.

Custom kung fu is the martial arts that the Muslims of China used when they were defending themselves in back centuries.

The Muslims that were there, they tell us, right. And we see, like we who are and many Muslims live in the western part of Egypt, Egypt, China. And they they protected themselves using this type of martial arts. And it's very interesting to learn. They they don't attack.

It's solely defense, defense and disarm. Right. And somehow, it's so beautiful. It's the way they start. They start in the door opposition.

And it's specific to the Muslims. And there's a couple of brothers in Canada, who actually are certified in Muslim kung fu. And it's a unique, very, very beautiful type of martial arts very interesting.

And used upon you can see it on YouTube, at our university in Malaysia, they the Chinese students who, you know, had some sort of qualification in muscle Kung Fu, they used to do present quotations of it at the universities.

I always encourage our youth, talk to your sensei, they will be fine with it, because it's part of religious accommodation. They can't reject it, right? It's part of our religious belief that we don't do this. And so they will be fine with us just simply being there. No. And when everyone else that was you just respectfully stand, that's all.

So that brings us to the end of Surah Yusuf, we transition off into Surah two, right.

Let me just go to let's go to verse number 12 and 13.

verses number 12. And 13 are sort of defined so that the Lord is called the soul out of the thunder.

We see in it Allah subhanaw taala talking about thunder and lightning.

Versa number 12 of us prenowitz addresses. He is the one who shows you lightning leaving

He's the one who shows you lightning

Inspiring you with hope and fear and produces heavy clouds. And then he says what you set out to be handy he won whether he can to retrieve at the thunder glorifies His praises, as do the eight jewels in all of him, he sends Thunderbolts striking with them, whoever He wills, the Thunderbolts are lightning, right?

Yet the district of Allah and he is tremendous in Might, Allah subhanho wa Taala either, you know,

he brings this lightning

and when the lightning comes, you see it? And then what do you hear?

You hear the thunder, that Thunder

is praise.

Its praises you have a vortex. Allah says when you suddenly have a thunder glorifies His praises,

as do the angels. So when the lightning strikes, Thunder, Thunder and the angels are glorifying

things of how glorifying Allah subhanho wa taala. And this is why we, when we hear the thunder, what do we say? We say this as well, when you're simply hardwired to be healthy, you want to get free fatty is the dua that we say, when you see lightning or you hear thunder when somebody's home, or do we have the weather effect

praising and glorifying Allah subhana wa Tada brought this to us. And, you know, lightning in itself is amazing when we think of it, like we look at it, and it's because of you know, the spirit pressure. And you know, the density of the cars and the air and the VISTA and all of that combined.

But I remember doing a recent research years back, when you think both coming down, which way is the charge going?

downwards, right?

The charge is going downwards. It's not it's going up

the charges actually going from the earth.

So amazing, isn't it? The Earth has this energy within it. And Allah subhanaw taala is releasing it like the static electricity that we have. Right? When you take you sometimes you take your foot off in the darkness, right all the static, right? Allah subhana wa Tada is showing us that he created this and the charge is actually going up and not down despite our eyes making it seem like the lightning bolt is coming from the top down. The charge is actually going up.

This is a Krishna Abbas panic attack when we see it, and we think of it. And if you smile, remember, there's a beautiful, you know, slow motion recently on lightning that you can find online on YouTube.

And this recording was short because Singapore and Malaysia that notorious for having lots and lots of heavy rains.

And you know, thunder and lightning, and Subhanallah you see the lightning, it's just and when they saw it, they slow it down by I can't remember how many millions they slow it down. It's just amazing. Amazing to see that you can't not believe there was

just nothing else that you would believe in and people will ask that after seeing that. We leave that up to them. That's their choice, right? So may Allah subhanaw taala easy for us to

not be scared of this is what I like to tell children don't be scared of Thunder Thunder is just praising Allah subhanho data, it's the lightning using Allah.

Right by sending the cell modules or praising and glorifying the loss of Hanway talent in that process as well.

Let's take a few examples from Surah Ibrahim very quickly. It's been 38 minutes or so Ibrahim,

because it is the truth, and everything that we need to know is found within it. And number four, Allah subhanaw taala mentions that he sent the messengers, speaking the language of their people,
