Minute with a Muslim #185 – 113 Chapters of The Quran Remind Us of This

113 out of 114 chapters in the Quran, Allah reminds us that He is merciful right from the beginning. Bismillah R Rahman Rahim, Allah has many more names than that. And he has many more attributes than that. And characteristics. Some of them are quite terrifying, right, which should easily pop is severe and punishment, or city or Hisa. He's quick to take account, right? He's eligible, the Compeller and he's all here, I'll have right overcome or however you want to translate that. But out of all those choices are lost power to Allah began every chapter reminding us of a different quality of his Bismillah R. Rahman. Right. He reminds us of His mercy again and again and again and again.

And again. If you look at the Koran, and you try to account for how much space how much time does the law spend reminding us of this or that you're going to find that his mercy is at the top and this is from a hadith Quincy the Prophet sallallahu sallam said that Allah subhanaw taala said, My Mercy exceeds my wrath. And sometimes as Muslims, we we either despair of Allah's mercy, okay, and this is for a certain type of type of person who beats himself up over a lot of little things. They don't trust a lot enough, they don't know enough about Allah's mercy, or allows love or loss kindness, to trust that he's going to forgive them if they turned to him, right. And this is a trick

of the shaytaan because that's Satan doesn't want you to repent. And so the easiest way that shaytaan can get you to not repent is to make you feel like you're not going to be forgiven, even if you try. And there's another thing that happens, where as Muslims, we look around, and we see there's a lot of non compliance going on. Right? There's a lot of non compliance, we see, you know, the way that women behave on social media and put up their pictures and you know, in the sort of alluring way we see guys and they're even worse, right? It's a mess. And then you have the Yeah, the way people dress you have the prayer attendance at the masjid, you have, you know, the halal income,

you have all these sorts of issues, right? And we see non compliance, and there's a tendency, there's a tendency for individual Muslims to be like, well, that means I need to emphasize a law's wrath, right? I gotta scare these people straight. I gotta get these people in line, right? And there's a time and place for that, like, that's from the Dean like, no one's going to say that that's completely inappropriate. But Allah subhanaw taala knows us better than we know ourselves. And Allah had the same opportunity. He knew what we were going to do. And yet he still chose to begin every chapter with Bismillah R Rahman Rahim, he still chose every single chapter except for

one to begin with a reminder of his mercy, right? There wasn't the same sort of anxiety that people would take that as a license to do whatever they wanted. Because a lot of people out there a lot of people they just they have an obstacle when it comes to repentance when it comes to changing their lives around. Right. And a lot of it comes back to their misunderstanding about Allah's Valentine and how merciful He is there are some people there's some people who are hard headed out there that need to be shaken awake and said Allah is going to take with you to account and stuff like that, but but there's a whole lot of people out there that need the reminder of Allah's mercy and that if you

continue to remind them about Allah's mercy, they're going to feel compelled to turn around their ways and to make a change.
