In Inshallah today we're gonna talk about Allah
from a different perspective.
Inshallah we will come back to you and
talk about many of the beautiful names of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala throughout the month of
Ramadan.
Those names of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
the one that are chosen
for this Ramadan
are those names that
are related to the month of Ramadan. All
the beautiful names of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
are related to the beautiful
month of Ramadan, but we picked 8.
Ar Rahmanur Rahim, the merciful.
At Tawab, the one who accept repentance.
Alwadud,
the loving,
al ghafur,
the the the forgiving,
al kareem, the generous,
al shakur, the appreciative,
and al mujeeb,
the one that respond.

imagined
the name Allah?
An Arabic word that we refer to
to describe the divine,
God almighty.
The word Allah, as a matter of fact,
is a very unique word
in its in its in its,
in its meaning,
in its history,
and in its,
very, very
form of meditation.
So let's start with the word Allah.
Historically,
Arabic, Aramaic, and Hebrew, those are called the
Semitic languages.
So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in Arabic
would be Allah
in, in Aramaic
and will be in
Hebrew.
So,
does that sound very familiar? Yes. It sounds
very familiar. The Semitic languages,
the the the language of the Torah, the
language of the,
new testament, what Jesus spoke was Aramaic, what
Moses spoke was Hebrew,
and what Muhammad peace be upon him all
of them spoke was
Arabic. So the word Allah is is is
a is a unique word,
in its history.
Also at the same time it's a unique
word in the way it's structured.
So Allah.
Allah.
You take the first alif out of Allah
and it will be lillah, which means belong
to God.
If you take the second letter, the first
letter and the second letter of that word
out and it would be lahu
for him.
And if even you take the any the
third one the first letter, the second letter,
and the third letter AL, and the at
the end subhanAllah
refers that it belongs to Him.
At the same time this word subhanAllah is
a word of meditation.
You could say Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah,
Allah without moving your lips.
And thus the idea of Ramadan. Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala say
Allah said when when when when my servants

remind us in the Quran
that the word Allah

in Arabic.
It serves the theology of the Muslims.
For instance, God could be Goddess
and God could be gods where
the word Allah in Arabic is linguistically unique.
It cannot be pluralized
and it cannot be genderized. It described
the divine
and for that reason
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala or the Prophet Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala remind us that for Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala there are 99 attributes.
99 attributes.
As I said,
99 attributes of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that
the prophet has told us about. God almighty
or Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala have 99 attributes
that is mentioned in the Quran.
Why 99?
Well, the Hadith of the prophet, Subhanahu Alaihi
Wasallam, he said Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala have
99
attributes.
For Allah
are 99 attributes. And the prophet emphasize
100
minus 1.
And the prophet adds in many different hadith,
Those people who have
Ihsa
or the people who have the knowledge of
those names
will enter Jannah.
So the word
is in Arabic. Sometimes we translate that that
for Allah is 99 attributes
and
for those people who memorize them or count
them or know them, right, we it's the
word asa in Arabic is actually more profound
than that.
In Surat Maryam verse 94 Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala say
That Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
have
known them and he counted each one of
them is referring to those people who died
in a battle.
So the word asah is more than just
to count them. The word is to know
a person
on a an intimate level.
Statistically is the word how we use this
word statistics,
Have the statistical knowledge of the names of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
In a sense,
it is to know that Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala. To acknowledge Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, number
1. To know Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is
number 2. And most importantly, what we want
to know in this Ramadan is to love
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

interestingly enough, there are many Hadith that for
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is this Ismullah al
Avam. There is this special name
that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala have. The Prophet
SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam in many hadith,
says that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala have this
unique name.
Anyone calls upon Allah with that unique
name
is
or or the,
the greatest name of Allah. Right? Anyone calls
Allah with this unique name
will also enter Jannah.
But what's really interesting enough,
there is no specific
there's no specific hadith that tells you which
one of these names,
is the unique name of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
You will see verses in the Quran.
Call upon Allah or call upon the merciful.
Is it the merciful?
Maybe. Right? But then then you see Hadith
of the prophet
that he hears a man saying,
Oh, Allah, I ask you in your name,
the the unique
name, the one name,
the name that attributes to monotheism
and so on so forth. And the prophet
said, This man called upon
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala with his unique name.
But in that hadith there are many different
attributes of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, which one
is it?
Many of the scholars tell us this,
and I want you to listen to this.
This is Ramadan
and this is the month of mercy.
A month that the prophet
said,
That this is a month, the beginning of
it of which is mercy, the middle of
which is forgiveness,
and the end of it is a hardening.
As a pointing, this is the goal of
Ramadan.
So,
listen to this what what what the scholar
said about this unique name of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
I'm gonna reveal it today.
The unique name of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is whichever
name you use in sincerity.
That's what the scholar said.
Whichever name I use in sincerity is the
unique name of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that
if you call Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala with
that name He will answer you?
Yes, that's what the scholar says.
So if you're ill,
you are sincerely asking Allah
Allah with his beautiful name Al Shafi'i,
the the one who cure.
If you're a sinner and all of us
are, you're asking Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala with
his beautiful name at Tawab because he's the
one who accept the repentance.
If if if you are
passing through difficulties
and poverty,
you ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in His
beautiful name
the the provisionist because
what I always say to my congregation
you you you you are supposed to ask
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala sincerely.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
wants the prayer to come from the heart
and not from the lips.
And when the when the prayers comes from
the heart as ibn Abbas related
in in in one
one hadith. He said, when you ask Allah
Subhanahu, he said, I know when Allah
answers my prayers. And they asked him how.
He said, Allah answers my prayers when the
heart is pounding,
right? When the heart is pounding and pulsating
and the body is shivering
and the eyes are, you know, are crying.
It it describe a,
a a a state of mind
rather than just a a name.
Why 99 attributes?
Well,
why the prophet would say a 100 minus
1?
Well, because there's a hadith of the prophet
he talks about the mercy of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala,
which is our episode number number 2. The
mercy of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, the prophet
described that mercy as 99 as a 100
parts.
That 99 parts of that
Allah
preserved for himself, and he sent one part
of that mercy to earth. And with that
one part,
all of us,
share.
Even the animals, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam said share that one part of mercy,
one part of love.
By the way,
what we what we,
are referring to here is the simple fact
that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is 100% loving,
100%
merciful.
And the simple fact that Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala will teach us 99 attributes. We have
99
problems that we pass through every single day
and there's always the mercy and the love
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So
Allah,
we acknowledge Allah,
we know Allah and most importantly in this
month we wanna
know Allah well to the point that we
love Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
We want to live
those names and apply this name and inculcate
those names in our everyday attributes.
Ibn Umar related that the prophet was
once
standing
on a piece of wood, a trunk of
a tree
and the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam start
saying some of the attributes of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
But then the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was
so emotional
that he raised his voice.
So he says,
* Malik, I am the King but the
Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam wants you to imagine
the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam is standing and
the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam was saying those
beautiful names of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in
such a passion
that his heart was pounding
and his and his body was shaken.
Ibn Umar and many of the companions he
said, SubhanAllah
that the prophet sallamahu alaihi wasallam was shaken.
And not only the prophet was shaken, but
that piece of wood, the trunk
under the feet of the prophet
that he used to use
to stand up to elevate himself so people
could see him, that piece of wood was
also shaken.
If a piece of wood shaken
for the love of Allah,
shouldn't our heart shake
for the love of Allah?
Ramadan
is a month of Quran.
Indeed, we learned that there are two ways
to know God Almighty. There are 2 no
2 ways to know Allah and to acknowledge
Allah and to love eventually love Allah.
There's 2 ways are mentioned in the Quran.

is this universe.
The awe,
the
the the the amazing pondering upon this universe
that we see every single morning.
And the second one
is the,
Quran.
And in the Quran, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
gives us 99
attributes.
In episode number 2 and in every episode,
we will look at those names.
We will define them.
We'll look at some verses, some ahadith of
prophet Muhammad and,
we'll look at some stories.
And most importantly,
we look at those names,
and and and try to see
how can I live with that name not
only in Ramadan,
but every
single
day?
Yes. Ramadan is a month of mercy, month
of forgiveness,
a month of,
pardoning from
Allah And Allah
in
this month
manifest himself
and Allah
is close
but not only in the month of Ramadan
but every month. But this is our training
camp
for,
you know, we call it camp Taqwa because
the aim of Ramadan is la'allakum tat taqun.
So you might find piety
and,
it is sometimes finding piety sometimes,
it's not it's not by
finding piety,
sometimes is is by
detaching,
from everyday routine
and acknowledging a spiritual
routine
towards Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
