Wa Fil Malaal Amin MashaAllah.

00:00:22 --> 00:00:25

Welcome back to the hikm of Imam Ibn

00:00:25 --> 00:00:25

A'la.

00:00:26 --> 00:00:29

We said the word hikm is the plural

00:00:29 --> 00:00:30

for hikmah.

00:00:31 --> 00:00:33

Right? So the wisdoms of imam,

00:00:34 --> 00:00:35

which really bring into

00:00:36 --> 00:00:38

concert three things,

00:00:38 --> 00:00:39

faith,

00:00:39 --> 00:00:41

practice, and spirituality,

00:00:42 --> 00:00:42

encapsulated

00:00:43 --> 00:00:44

in the statement.

00:00:46 --> 00:00:47

People make a mistake and I think that

00:00:47 --> 00:00:50

this book stick strictly deals with like essen.

00:00:50 --> 00:00:52

Right? Excellence, worshiping Allah as though you can

00:00:52 --> 00:00:54

see him. That that's the goal of the

00:00:54 --> 00:00:54

book,

00:00:55 --> 00:00:57

but you can't worship Allah as though you

00:00:57 --> 00:00:59

see him without following

00:00:59 --> 00:01:02

the proper fiqh, the proper sunnah, and we're

00:01:02 --> 00:01:03

not gonna follow the proper sunnah

00:01:04 --> 00:01:06

unless we believe. So you see how all

00:01:06 --> 00:01:08

three of those work. For those of you

00:01:08 --> 00:01:10

who are not Swiss subscribers, you can enroll

00:01:10 --> 00:01:12

in this class and all of my other

00:01:12 --> 00:01:13

classes

00:01:13 --> 00:01:14

at suhaebweb.com/swiss.

00:01:20 --> 00:01:20

Suhayebweb.com/swiss.

00:01:24 --> 00:01:26

Do that. Help me out. We're trying to

00:01:26 --> 00:01:28

build something special for the ummah and we

00:01:28 --> 00:01:30

really appreciate appreciate the support we've gotten so

00:01:30 --> 00:01:31

far. Now let's start

00:01:32 --> 00:01:35

with the 6 hicom, and let's remind ourselves

00:01:35 --> 00:01:36

that the first 25 hicom

00:01:37 --> 00:01:40

are meant to address the subtle relationship between

00:01:40 --> 00:01:42

us and the reliance on Allah subhanahu wa

00:01:42 --> 00:01:44

ta'ala. And that's a constant battle because the

00:01:44 --> 00:01:46

dunya around us, we find comfort in it,

00:01:46 --> 00:01:48

we find support in it. And at times,

00:01:48 --> 00:01:50

that may distort

00:01:51 --> 00:01:53

where we should really attach ourselves.

00:01:53 --> 00:01:55

Looking at Quran, it's really cool.

00:01:55 --> 00:01:57

You know, in Arabic I can say,

00:01:57 --> 00:01:58

you

00:01:58 --> 00:02:00

know, like I trusted in God. But when

00:02:00 --> 00:02:01

I say it that way, it means

00:02:02 --> 00:02:03

I trusted in God, but I may be

00:02:03 --> 00:02:06

relying or trusting in other things. The Quran

00:02:06 --> 00:02:07

inverts it and puts

00:02:08 --> 00:02:09

the verb after

00:02:09 --> 00:02:12

the article preposition and the prepositional phrase to

00:02:12 --> 00:02:13

show that exclusively

00:02:14 --> 00:02:16

I trust in Allah. So,

00:02:22 --> 00:02:24

Which means say, He is the most merciful,

00:02:24 --> 00:02:25

upon Him only,

00:02:26 --> 00:02:28

upon him only I trust.

00:02:29 --> 00:02:30

Upon him only

00:02:30 --> 00:02:32

we trust. That takes us now to the

00:02:32 --> 00:02:34

6 hicom, and this is a tough one.

00:02:34 --> 00:02:36

Have you ever gotten frustrated when your du'a

00:02:36 --> 00:02:39

wasn't answered? Have you ever gotten frustrated when

00:02:39 --> 00:02:41

you felt like, man, I've been making du'a

00:02:41 --> 00:02:42

for this for so long,

00:02:42 --> 00:02:44

but it hasn't been answered, I'm just gonna

00:02:44 --> 00:02:46

stop making dua or I'm just gonna give

00:02:46 --> 00:02:47

up.

00:03:06 --> 00:03:07

He says, do not allow

00:03:08 --> 00:03:09

a delayed

00:03:10 --> 00:03:10

gift,

00:03:11 --> 00:03:13

the and here the gift is,

00:03:13 --> 00:03:16

the answer to what you've been asking for.

00:03:16 --> 00:03:18

Right? The response of the dua.

00:03:19 --> 00:03:21

So do not allow a delay in that

00:03:22 --> 00:03:22

to be,

00:03:27 --> 00:03:28

means the du'am.

00:03:30 --> 00:03:31

So

00:03:31 --> 00:03:32

that means

00:03:32 --> 00:03:35

don't allow the delayed response

00:03:36 --> 00:03:37

coupled with consistent

00:03:38 --> 00:03:38

du'a,

00:03:39 --> 00:03:39

mujibaliyahsiq,

00:03:40 --> 00:03:42

to be a cause of your despair.

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45

Like, don't let that rock your trust in

00:03:45 --> 00:03:45

God.

00:03:45 --> 00:03:47

It could be a despair in the answer,

00:03:47 --> 00:03:49

it could be despair in Allah's rahma, it

00:03:49 --> 00:03:52

could be a despair in faith in general.

00:04:01 --> 00:04:02

Why?

00:04:02 --> 00:04:03

And

00:04:05 --> 00:04:06

here we are going to read the explanation

00:04:06 --> 00:04:07

of Sheikh,

00:04:08 --> 00:04:10

Shardobi Al Madikhi Al Azharihi said.

00:04:11 --> 00:04:13

Very beautifully he says,

00:04:18 --> 00:04:19

Do not allow

00:04:20 --> 00:04:22

the delay the time delay,

00:04:22 --> 00:04:24

right, to your

00:04:25 --> 00:04:27

dua that you've been asking for.

00:04:32 --> 00:04:34

So his explanation is don't allow this to

00:04:34 --> 00:04:36

cause you despair of the answer.

00:04:37 --> 00:04:39

Because the answer may come in different ways.

00:04:39 --> 00:04:41

Right? We're asking Al Aleem who has infinite

00:04:41 --> 00:04:43

knowledge. So the way he answers what we're

00:04:43 --> 00:04:45

asking may not necessarily be what we want,

00:04:45 --> 00:04:46

but wallahu

00:04:47 --> 00:04:48

wa'an tumlaata'alamun.

00:04:49 --> 00:04:49

So at Baqarah

00:04:50 --> 00:04:53

verse 216 really is the high maqam

00:04:54 --> 00:04:54

of the

00:04:55 --> 00:04:57

person who's making dua. And that is they

00:04:57 --> 00:04:59

reach a state where they understand Allah knows

00:04:59 --> 00:05:01

and I don't know. So they surrender themselves

00:05:01 --> 00:05:02

to him.

00:05:03 --> 00:05:04

So he says very beautifully,

00:05:09 --> 00:05:12

because the hiccup continues and it says,

00:05:14 --> 00:05:16

Because God has promised you he will answer

00:05:16 --> 00:05:17

you. He's guaranteed,

00:05:18 --> 00:05:20

is the better word, the answer.

00:05:27 --> 00:05:27

So

00:05:31 --> 00:05:33

So don't allow the delayed response

00:05:33 --> 00:05:36

with your consistent dua to cause you to

00:05:36 --> 00:05:39

despair of the answer because God has promised,

00:05:40 --> 00:05:41

Allah has guaranteed

00:05:42 --> 00:05:45

that He will answer you. The Quran says

00:05:45 --> 00:05:46

in Surat Al Ghafir,

00:05:47 --> 00:05:48

chapter 40, verse 60,

00:05:53 --> 00:05:57

Your lord your lord says, call me. I

00:05:57 --> 00:05:57

will

00:05:58 --> 00:05:59

respond to you.

00:05:59 --> 00:06:02

Call me, I will response I will answer

00:06:02 --> 00:06:03

you. So my Lord says, call on me

00:06:03 --> 00:06:05

and I will respond to you. Very, very

00:06:05 --> 00:06:09

beautiful. Some ulama like Imam Suuti Rahimullah said

00:06:09 --> 00:06:11

this is from the hasa'is of this ummah.

00:06:11 --> 00:06:13

Like we're the only ummah that Allah subhanahu

00:06:13 --> 00:06:15

wa ta'ala guaranteed to answer our duas

00:06:15 --> 00:06:17

in different ways that we may not understand

00:06:18 --> 00:06:18

of course.

00:06:19 --> 00:06:20

Then he says,

00:06:27 --> 00:06:29

in a way which he chose for you.

00:06:33 --> 00:06:35

Not in the way you chose for yourself.

00:06:35 --> 00:06:36

So there's

00:06:37 --> 00:06:38

that difficulty, right?

00:06:49 --> 00:06:50

You Allah.

00:06:50 --> 00:06:52

And in the time He is appointed, not

00:06:52 --> 00:06:54

in the time you've appointed.

00:06:54 --> 00:06:56

So let me let me read the whole

00:06:56 --> 00:06:58

hicom in Arabic and then translate it and

00:06:58 --> 00:06:59

then we'll continue to break it down and

00:06:59 --> 00:07:01

then we're gonna move to the 7th hicom

00:07:01 --> 00:07:03

because they're both in correlation with one another.

00:07:03 --> 00:07:04

Inshallah. He

00:07:05 --> 00:07:05

says,

00:07:24 --> 00:07:27

So it means don't allow the delayed response

00:07:27 --> 00:07:29

coupled with your consistent supplications

00:07:30 --> 00:07:31

to be a cause of your despair from

00:07:31 --> 00:07:34

the answer because god has guaranteed the answer

00:07:34 --> 00:07:36

for you in a way which he chose,

00:07:36 --> 00:07:37

not in the way which you choose,

00:07:38 --> 00:07:39

and in a time which he chose, not

00:07:39 --> 00:07:41

in a time which you chose. Allahu Akbar.

00:07:41 --> 00:07:43

That's a tough one, man. That's a tough

00:07:43 --> 00:07:45

one. So, the sheikh says,

00:07:49 --> 00:07:51

Allah has guaranteed you the answer.

00:07:53 --> 00:07:54

In the Quran,

00:07:56 --> 00:07:58

And here is this battle

00:07:58 --> 00:07:59

between

00:08:00 --> 00:08:02

God's will,

00:08:02 --> 00:08:03

God's command,

00:08:04 --> 00:08:06

and our choice. Because as we'll talk about

00:08:06 --> 00:08:07

in theology,

00:08:07 --> 00:08:11

God's command and God's will can be contradictory.

00:08:11 --> 00:08:12

For example, Allah

00:08:13 --> 00:08:15

commanded all people to believe,

00:08:15 --> 00:08:18

but his will was that Abu Jahal was

00:08:18 --> 00:08:21

a kafir and that Abu Bakr was a

00:08:21 --> 00:08:21

believer.

00:08:22 --> 00:08:24

So his will is contradictory

00:08:25 --> 00:08:27

to the command. That's the battle of life,

00:08:27 --> 00:08:28

man.

00:08:28 --> 00:08:31

If everything around us aligned with the commands

00:08:31 --> 00:08:32

of God in the Quran and then the

00:08:32 --> 00:08:33

statements of the prophet

00:08:34 --> 00:08:36

alaihi wa sallam, there will be no test.

00:08:36 --> 00:08:38

And now you can understand the verse.

00:08:45 --> 00:08:46

Do people think they say they will believe

00:08:46 --> 00:08:48

and they won't be tested? When are we

00:08:48 --> 00:08:50

tested? We're tested when we have the commands

00:08:50 --> 00:08:52

of God and the reality of the world

00:08:52 --> 00:08:54

around us as we see it is in

00:08:54 --> 00:08:57

contradiction to that command and we choose the

00:08:57 --> 00:08:57

command

00:08:58 --> 00:09:00

over the what we see around us. That's

00:09:00 --> 00:09:02

belief in the unseen. Aladhinayukminunabilghayb.

00:09:03 --> 00:09:05

I believe in the unseen

00:09:06 --> 00:09:08

who commanded me to do this

00:09:08 --> 00:09:10

even though what I see around me is

00:09:10 --> 00:09:13

in opposition to that. So everybody's drinking, everybody's

00:09:13 --> 00:09:15

smoking weed, everyone's got, you know what I'm

00:09:15 --> 00:09:19

saying, illicit relationships happening, everyone's cheating, everyone's lying,

00:09:19 --> 00:09:21

everyone's backbiting, and that's all around me. I'm

00:09:21 --> 00:09:22

like, you know what? Just let me give

00:09:22 --> 00:09:24

in to that. Then now I have become

00:09:24 --> 00:09:25

a Muslim

00:09:25 --> 00:09:26

of this.

00:09:28 --> 00:09:31

Whereas the Muslim to Allah, that's what it

00:09:31 --> 00:09:32

means. The one who has submitted

00:09:33 --> 00:09:36

has refused to submit to that. What they

00:09:36 --> 00:09:38

see as a temporal reality, al Hawadith,

00:09:39 --> 00:09:42

and found themselves in submission to Allah

00:09:44 --> 00:09:46

That's the crux of Islam by the way.

00:09:46 --> 00:09:48

Unfortunately, we don't teach this. We're gonna teach

00:09:48 --> 00:09:50

this in our 3rd book on theology,

00:09:50 --> 00:09:52

the 4 components of this.

00:09:53 --> 00:09:55

But the reason I say that is sometimes

00:09:55 --> 00:09:57

we're making dua, we're making dua, we're making

00:09:57 --> 00:09:59

dua, we're making dua, we're making dua.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:01

It's not being answered.

00:10:01 --> 00:10:03

So then I start to allow

00:10:03 --> 00:10:05

the absence of the answer

00:10:06 --> 00:10:09

to sway me more than the command in

00:10:09 --> 00:10:10

the 40th chapter of the Quran,

00:10:11 --> 00:10:12

verse 60 that says,

00:10:13 --> 00:10:14

keep making dua.

00:10:15 --> 00:10:16

Keep making du'a.

00:10:17 --> 00:10:19

It's heavy because there may come a time

00:10:19 --> 00:10:21

where I I realize, well, I've been making

00:10:21 --> 00:10:22

du'a for this so long.

00:10:23 --> 00:10:25

If I stop making dua, that's okay, but

00:10:25 --> 00:10:27

I don't stop making dua because I'm like,

00:10:27 --> 00:10:29

God didn't answer me. No. I say, you

00:10:29 --> 00:10:31

know what? He answered me in a different

00:10:31 --> 00:10:32

way.

00:10:32 --> 00:10:35

I trust that there's a different answer happening.

00:10:35 --> 00:10:38

So as Tolkien says in the Lord of

00:10:38 --> 00:10:40

the Rings, all who wonder aren't lost. You

00:10:40 --> 00:10:41

know what I mean? So I'm wondering, but

00:10:41 --> 00:10:43

I'm not necessarily lost because I'm making the

00:10:43 --> 00:10:46

dua. So in the face of what I

00:10:46 --> 00:10:48

see is the absence of the answer that

00:10:48 --> 00:10:48

I want,

00:10:49 --> 00:10:51

I couple that with, well, the command is

00:10:51 --> 00:10:54

to make du du'a, and the command is

00:10:54 --> 00:10:55

that God knows more than I know, so

00:10:55 --> 00:10:58

I don't submit to that and become down

00:10:58 --> 00:10:59

and give up.

00:10:59 --> 00:11:01

I realize that Allah's wisdom

00:11:02 --> 00:11:04

is there and that his power and authority

00:11:04 --> 00:11:06

is there, and that I submit to that.

00:11:06 --> 00:11:06

Alhamdulillah.

00:11:09 --> 00:11:10

Then he says,

00:11:15 --> 00:11:16

You know, God has answered you in a

00:11:16 --> 00:11:17

way that He chose, not in a way

00:11:17 --> 00:11:19

that you wanted Him to answer.

00:11:21 --> 00:11:23

Because Allah Sheikh, he says the sharnoobi, Allah

00:11:23 --> 00:11:25

knows what's better for you than you know

00:11:25 --> 00:11:26

what's good for yourself.

00:11:27 --> 00:11:28

How many times we have wanted to do

00:11:28 --> 00:11:29

something

00:11:29 --> 00:11:31

and it didn't work out and we're like,

00:11:31 --> 00:11:32

oh my God. I'm so glad that didn't

00:11:32 --> 00:11:35

work out. That would have been a recipe

00:11:35 --> 00:11:36

for absolute

00:11:36 --> 00:11:37

catastrophe.

00:11:37 --> 00:11:38

So he says,

00:11:45 --> 00:11:47

Allah knows more about what's in

00:11:48 --> 00:11:50

your best interest than you and I know

00:11:50 --> 00:11:51

about ourselves. Allah says,

00:11:54 --> 00:11:58

Allah says, Allah is closer to you than

00:11:58 --> 00:12:02

your own jugular vein. Right? So tamukh ala

00:12:02 --> 00:12:06

youalamumankhalaqa wahuwalaalatiful kabir. Doesn't Allah rhetorically know more

00:12:06 --> 00:12:08

than His creation knows about themselves and He

00:12:08 --> 00:12:09

is the kind,

00:12:10 --> 00:12:11

the all aware,

00:12:17 --> 00:12:18

And he said, maybe

00:12:24 --> 00:12:26

You supplicated, you requested something from God.

00:12:30 --> 00:12:31

But it's better,

00:12:32 --> 00:12:34

the priority is that he kept it from

00:12:34 --> 00:12:36

you. Because we know Allah is al Mahdi

00:12:37 --> 00:12:39

and al Mana, the one who gives

00:12:39 --> 00:12:41

and the one who holds back.

00:12:41 --> 00:12:43

Like, SubhanAllah, you gotta have both names.

00:12:44 --> 00:12:47

So he says, perhaps you you made dua

00:12:47 --> 00:12:47

for something,

00:12:48 --> 00:12:50

but in your best interest Allah kept it

00:12:50 --> 00:12:50

from you.

00:12:52 --> 00:12:54

Listen to what he says here. You Allah,

00:12:54 --> 00:12:57

this is beautiful. SubhanAllah, you should memorize this.

00:12:57 --> 00:12:57

He says,

00:13:01 --> 00:13:03

that at that moment,

00:13:03 --> 00:13:04

Allah

00:13:05 --> 00:13:05

keeps

00:13:06 --> 00:13:08

keeping that from you because it's not good

00:13:08 --> 00:13:08

for you,

00:13:09 --> 00:13:09

is

00:13:10 --> 00:13:11

the essence

00:13:12 --> 00:13:13

of giving and generosity.

00:13:14 --> 00:13:15

Allahu Akbar.

00:13:16 --> 00:13:18

You know, the essence of giving is that

00:13:18 --> 00:13:20

he kept from you what you wanted because

00:13:20 --> 00:13:21

he knows what you don't know and he

00:13:21 --> 00:13:24

knows that that is not good for you.

00:13:27 --> 00:13:29

And then he says, you know, later on,

00:13:29 --> 00:13:32

Imam Ibn Ta'Allahu, the writer of a hikam,

00:13:32 --> 00:13:34

he's gonna say something very similar. Listen to

00:13:34 --> 00:13:35

this, man. This is incredible.

00:13:43 --> 00:13:45

Perhaps Allah

00:13:45 --> 00:13:46

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:13:47 --> 00:13:48

kept something from you,

00:13:49 --> 00:13:51

but in reality gave something to you.

00:13:51 --> 00:13:53

One of my teachers used to say,

00:13:56 --> 00:13:58

You know, in Allah keeping something from you

00:13:58 --> 00:13:59

is the answer. Like,

00:14:00 --> 00:14:01

Adamul ijabah

00:14:03 --> 00:14:04

The absence of the answer that you want

00:14:04 --> 00:14:07

is the answer. It's not easy, man. So

00:14:07 --> 00:14:07

he says,

00:14:13 --> 00:14:14

later on in the hikim, we're gonna we're

00:14:14 --> 00:14:16

gonna encounter this hikim in our in our

00:14:16 --> 00:14:19

travels later on. He says that perhaps he

00:14:19 --> 00:14:20

kept something from you,

00:14:21 --> 00:14:23

but in reality he gave something to you.

00:14:23 --> 00:14:26

And maybe he gave something to you, but

00:14:26 --> 00:14:28

by doing so he kept something from you.

00:14:28 --> 00:14:30

Subhanahu wa ta'ala. And He said the proof

00:14:30 --> 00:14:32

of this is the

00:14:32 --> 00:14:33

verse of the Quran,

00:14:34 --> 00:14:35

Surah Baqarah

00:14:35 --> 00:14:36

verse 216,

00:14:36 --> 00:14:38

where Allah says,

00:14:39 --> 00:14:39

wa'asa antaqruh

00:14:40 --> 00:14:41

shayeeawahuwahayrullahkum

00:14:43 --> 00:14:44

wa'asa

00:14:44 --> 00:14:45

antuhibu

00:14:45 --> 00:14:46

shayeeawahuwahshayrullahkum

00:14:54 --> 00:14:55

And perhaps you hate something

00:14:56 --> 00:14:58

and it's good for you, and you love

00:14:58 --> 00:15:01

something and it's bad for you. Allah knows

00:15:01 --> 00:15:02

and you don't know.

00:15:03 --> 00:15:05

What did they call about Al-'arifin,

00:15:06 --> 00:15:07

and he said because of that, some of

00:15:07 --> 00:15:09

the people who, you know, they have

00:15:10 --> 00:15:10

this

00:15:11 --> 00:15:12

foundational

00:15:12 --> 00:15:14

religious knowledge of god, and then they have

00:15:14 --> 00:15:17

experiences in life that enhance and amplify

00:15:17 --> 00:15:20

and animate those experiences, and stay rooted

00:15:21 --> 00:15:22

in the sharia.

00:15:22 --> 00:15:23

They used to say, You

00:15:27 --> 00:15:29

Allah. He said they used to say that,

00:15:29 --> 00:15:31

being kept from what you want in reality

00:15:32 --> 00:15:33

is the essence

00:15:33 --> 00:15:34

of being given something.

00:15:35 --> 00:15:35

SubhanAllah.

00:15:36 --> 00:15:37

So he said, wakathariqalbaminalakal

00:15:38 --> 00:15:39

ijabatafilwaktil

00:15:39 --> 00:15:40

ladhiyoureadulafilwaktil

00:15:41 --> 00:15:43

ladhi to read. He said, so you should

00:15:43 --> 00:15:46

understand that he promised to answer you in

00:15:46 --> 00:15:48

a time which he chose, not in a

00:15:48 --> 00:15:51

time which you've chosen, so therefore,

00:15:54 --> 00:15:57

So be consistent in your resilience. Resilient to

00:15:57 --> 00:15:57

what?

00:15:58 --> 00:16:00

Resilience that when the world around me contradicts

00:16:00 --> 00:16:04

the command of God, I'm resilient and I

00:16:04 --> 00:16:05

stay with his command.

00:16:06 --> 00:16:08

I don't succumb to the tides of the

00:16:08 --> 00:16:09

world.

00:16:09 --> 00:16:12

God's not answering you, God hates you, you're

00:16:12 --> 00:16:13

such a bad person, you did this, you

00:16:13 --> 00:16:14

did this.

00:16:18 --> 00:16:20

Be with Allah. Allah says, no Quran,

00:16:22 --> 00:16:23

Flee to Allah.

00:16:26 --> 00:16:28

Flee to the commands of God.

00:16:28 --> 00:16:31

So today, I explained something that's gonna come

00:16:31 --> 00:16:33

later on in our class on theology,

00:16:34 --> 00:16:36

where, you know, the command and the will

00:16:36 --> 00:16:38

and they can be contradictory

00:16:38 --> 00:16:39

and you have to choose.

00:16:40 --> 00:16:42

That is the essence of ihsan.

00:16:43 --> 00:16:46

That is the essence of living as though

00:16:46 --> 00:16:47

I see God.

00:16:47 --> 00:16:50

Because I'm blind to the lies of the

00:16:50 --> 00:16:51

world

00:16:51 --> 00:16:52

and I am

00:16:53 --> 00:16:56

a witness to the promises of Allah.

00:16:56 --> 00:16:58

So the world is telling you you're insignificant,

00:16:59 --> 00:17:00

Your duas aren't accepted.

00:17:01 --> 00:17:03

The promise of God is telling you,

00:17:03 --> 00:17:06

your duas are accepted, but perhaps in ways

00:17:06 --> 00:17:09

you didn't understand or can't understand,

00:17:09 --> 00:17:11

or in times and places that you can't

00:17:11 --> 00:17:12

comprehend.

00:17:12 --> 00:17:13

But trust

00:17:14 --> 00:17:15

Allah. This is tawakkul.

00:17:16 --> 00:17:17

Now you can see how all this plays

00:17:17 --> 00:17:21

out beautifully with Allah hawla walakuwata

00:17:21 --> 00:17:24

illa billah. MashaAllah, what a beautiful book, MashaAllah.

00:17:25 --> 00:17:28

So he says, fa inna sabra wa adamul

00:17:29 --> 00:17:29

istiajari

00:17:31 --> 00:17:33

olaabil abid. And he said, to be patient,

00:17:33 --> 00:17:34

and I like the word resilience

00:17:34 --> 00:17:36

instead of patience for Sabr.

00:17:36 --> 00:17:38

To be resilient and not be in haste

00:17:39 --> 00:17:41

is the first and foremost quality

00:17:42 --> 00:17:44

that the devotees of Allah should achieve, they

00:17:44 --> 00:17:45

should achieve.

00:17:45 --> 00:17:47

Then he says something really cool. He says,

00:17:59 --> 00:18:01

He said, haven't you noticed in the Quran

00:18:01 --> 00:18:04

in Surat of Yunus, the 10th chapter, Yunus,

00:18:05 --> 00:18:08

verse number 88. He said, did you ever

00:18:08 --> 00:18:11

think about how Musa, he made du'a against

00:18:11 --> 00:18:11

Firaun

00:18:12 --> 00:18:14

and against his people? Because it's permissible to

00:18:14 --> 00:18:15

make du'a against people

00:18:16 --> 00:18:19

in as it's permissible to make dua for

00:18:19 --> 00:18:21

any people. Al Bukhari has a chapter the

00:18:21 --> 00:18:24

the 2 chapters together. The first is making

00:18:24 --> 00:18:25

dua against

00:18:26 --> 00:18:27

the people who were harming you and your

00:18:27 --> 00:18:30

deen and then making du'a for the people

00:18:30 --> 00:18:32

who are disbelievers but are not harming you

00:18:32 --> 00:18:34

and your deen. Right? So there's this balance.

00:18:34 --> 00:18:36

So Musa alayhi salaam

00:18:44 --> 00:18:46

You know, pay attention in the 88th verse

00:18:46 --> 00:18:47

of Surty Yunus,

00:18:48 --> 00:18:50

Sayna Musa made dua that Allah Subhanahu Wa

00:18:50 --> 00:18:53

Ta'ala will take away and reduce and destroy

00:18:53 --> 00:18:55

the wealth of Firaun.

00:19:00 --> 00:19:02

Right? And he made this dua

00:19:03 --> 00:19:06

and it is found written, of course, we

00:19:06 --> 00:19:07

know in kitab al maqnoon,

00:19:08 --> 00:19:09

waaba'adarba'ina

00:19:10 --> 00:19:11

sanah

00:19:11 --> 00:19:11

hasaraal

00:19:12 --> 00:19:12

madhu

00:19:13 --> 00:19:13

wubihi.

00:19:14 --> 00:19:16

And he said, and after 40 years the

00:19:16 --> 00:19:17

dua was answered.

00:19:18 --> 00:19:20

So the dua of Firaun,

00:19:21 --> 00:19:22

the dua, excuse me, of Musa

00:19:23 --> 00:19:26

against Firaun took 40 years, but did Musa

00:19:26 --> 00:19:27

give up? Did Musa?

00:19:27 --> 00:19:29

Because we need to be careful that we

00:19:29 --> 00:19:29

don't,

00:19:30 --> 00:19:31

project selfishness

00:19:32 --> 00:19:32

and narcissism

00:19:33 --> 00:19:34

in our supplications.

00:19:35 --> 00:19:37

We don't read our value in the answer

00:19:38 --> 00:19:40

or the absence of an answer. Naha numa

00:19:40 --> 00:19:42

Allah. The fact that you raised your hands,

00:19:42 --> 00:19:44

man. The fact that we lift our hands

00:19:44 --> 00:19:46

and got to say, You Allah,

00:19:47 --> 00:19:48

You Rahman,

00:19:48 --> 00:19:49

O Allah,

00:19:49 --> 00:19:51

kafabi hishalafan.

00:19:51 --> 00:19:53

It's an honor, man.

00:19:54 --> 00:19:56

SubhanAllah. So after 40 years,

00:20:09 --> 00:20:11

After 40 years, the Quran says, the 89th

00:20:11 --> 00:20:12

verse, you know,

00:20:13 --> 00:20:15

I have answered your supplications.

00:20:15 --> 00:20:18

Stay upright and do not follow the way

00:20:19 --> 00:20:20

of evildoers.

00:20:20 --> 00:20:22

There's a hadith of saying Rasool salallahu alaihi

00:20:22 --> 00:20:25

wa sallam mentioned by Imam Abay Haqin Shu'Abil

00:20:25 --> 00:20:26

Iman

00:20:27 --> 00:20:29

that he reported that the prophet said,

00:20:32 --> 00:20:35

Allah loves the people who are consistent in

00:20:35 --> 00:20:35

dua.

00:20:36 --> 00:20:38

And there's another this hadith is so beautiful.

00:20:38 --> 00:20:39

Masha'Allah. Masha'Allah. Mission

00:20:40 --> 00:20:41

that the prophet shalallahu alaihi wa sallam has

00:20:41 --> 00:20:42

reported to us.

00:20:58 --> 00:20:59

That,

00:20:59 --> 00:21:02

a righteous person will be making dua, making

00:21:02 --> 00:21:04

dua, and Jibreel will say, oh Allah,

00:21:04 --> 00:21:07

your devotee, answer his or her dua. And

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09

Allah will say, Leave that person because I

00:21:09 --> 00:21:11

love to hear their voice.

00:21:11 --> 00:21:12

SubhanAllah,

00:21:12 --> 00:21:12

SubhanAllah,

00:21:13 --> 00:21:15

SubhanAllah. So the sheikh, he says, fakum,

00:21:16 --> 00:21:18

So therefore stay upright and consistent.

00:21:23 --> 00:21:23

Be consistent

00:21:35 --> 00:21:36

He said, so stay upright

00:21:37 --> 00:21:39

and stay consistent with what God commanded you.

00:21:39 --> 00:21:40

The dua.

00:21:40 --> 00:21:43

Right? The dua, and submit yourself to his

00:21:43 --> 00:21:46

his will and his plans because, subhanAllah,

00:21:47 --> 00:21:49

he's going to answer you and he perhaps

00:21:49 --> 00:21:51

has stored for you an answer which is

00:21:51 --> 00:21:54

better and more than what you expected.

00:21:54 --> 00:21:55

Insha'Allah,

00:21:55 --> 00:21:56

next time we're gonna continue

00:21:57 --> 00:21:58

with the explanation

00:21:59 --> 00:22:00

actually of

00:22:01 --> 00:22:02

the 8 hikm Barakalofiqum

00:22:03 --> 00:22:06

Majazakam Allahu Hayran. Wassalamu alaykum Rahmatullah.
