On Behalf of the Widows

Sit on a calm and welcome to Episode Five of selected narrations from and today we're going to be talking about taking care of the vulnerable members of our society.

In narration number 131 from an Alfred Abu huraira or the Allahu anhu narrates that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said sorry Island Alma ye Misaki in Cali moja he de feasibility La, la de asuman her way Akuma lane, the one who strives on behalf of the widows and the poor is like the one who struggles in the way of Allah and also like the one who fast during the day and prays during the night. A common theme that we see in many of the Hadith in an unbelievable flood is how the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam emphasizes that our Islam is not just acts of worship, rather our character, our behavior, our treatment of others, is an integral part of our Islam as well. In

the last episode, we mentioned the Hadith in which we hear about a woman who would worship a lot she would fast and she would pray, and she would give charity However, she was abusive towards her neighbor with her tone with her speech, and the Prophet subtle ly send them said, there's no goodness in her she's from the people of the hellfire. Similarly, in today's Hadith, we hear the Prophet sallallahu Ani who sent them telling us that the one who takes care rather strives, works hard on behalf of the widows and the poor, that there are like those who fast during the day and pray during the night meaning there are people who are known for their worship, they work hard in

their worship, and also like the one who wants to get works really hard, puts a lot on the line, the one who puts their their body and their their well being on the line for the sake of Allah, all of those things. They require a great deal of effort and sacrifice. And so the prophets I send them is conveying to us that don't think that taking care of those who need help from us that don't think that that is any less so this heady serves to affirm the idea that part of our responsibility as Muslims is to take care of those who may be vulnerable in society, those who may be taken advantage of in this category are also orphans, we find in narration number 133. In an edible movement, the

Prophet sallallaahu Adam send them says, I know what cafeteria team you feel genetica ha attain eye and the guardian of an orphan The one who takes care of an orphan will be in paradise together like this, indicating closeness. The closeness here is yes, physical closeness we will be with the process and then physically close to the person of in paradise. And of course, that's something that we all want to be with the process. And then but also the closeness here is about being close to what the prophet sallallahu Sallam was all about the message of the prophets of the lie, send them so just as fasting and praying and giving charity and all these other acts of worship, they are from

the message of the Prophet sallallahu sallam. Likewise, taking care of people is also part of the message of the prophets that I tell them so we will be close to him in who he was in his message, if we take on these responsibilities, and you know what the companions very much understood this in narration number 136. From a double fraud, we hear that even the remote or the a lot that I know man that he would not eat unless he would have an orphan come and share the meal with him. How amazing is that? Even always thinking about the orphans, always thinking about those people in society who have no one and so before fulfilling his needs, or while fulfilling his needs, he made sure to

fulfill the needs of others. So once again, yes, our worship is important, but it is also our responsibility as Muslims It is part of our faith as Muslims to stand up for those who are neglected those who can be easily taken advantage of those who need our help and our support. So the question I will leave us with is this how much is taking care of others taking care of those who are in need part of our Islam? How much is standing up for others part of our Islam? How much is being the voice for the voiceless part of our Islam? How much is this type of Social Work part of our faith part of our Islam? And if our Islam is lacking in this department, what practical steps can we take to use
