Hadith of Jibreel #04

Alhamdulillah wa salatu salam ala rasulillah Allah Allah He was so happy when my nada my bad My dear brothers and sisters salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato. And welcome to the fourth hubback on the hadith of gibreel. where we left off last time was gibreel has just finished asking about the pillars of Eman And now he is affirming the truthfulness of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam by saying a Sadat and again this is a very abnormal behavior that when you ask a question, you will not reaffirm it by saying Sadat, but this was gibreel, the angel that was questioning and thus he was able to do so. And now he goes on to say, a burden the anelli son, he says, inform me about

yourself. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, it is to worship Allah subhanho wa Taala as though you can see him. And even though you're not able to see him, know that he sees you. So now I want to briefly talk about these different dimensions of our faith. So when we were talking about Islam, that was a physical manifestation of our faith, the physical deeds that we do, when we talked about a man, it was about a theological manifestation of our faith. And when we talk about your son, it is the spiritual manifestation of our faith, though that seeking of closeness to Allah subhana wa Tada, that's spirituality, that people long for that void inside of our hearts. That is what is

filled by all three of these components. You need to have the theological, you need to have the actions and you need to have the spiritual component as well. So now we understand from this that all of all these things need to come together. In order for Islam to sustain itself. You need to have the belief you need to have the actions and need to have that spirituality that will increase your Eman in Allah subhanaw taala. So now let us look at what the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam says he's questioned about So what exactly is SM? linguistically speaking sn means to excel at something to do something with excellence to do something. Well, when we look at it for my Quranic

perspective, Allah subhana wa tada describes the mass in in as those that go above and beyond what do they are required to do, above and beyond what they are required to do. So we see the verses in sorta Alhambra, where Allah subhanaw taala says wild cow will tell them in a life when the Athena nurse will Lahu your head saying that they are the ones that control their anger. They are the ones that pardon the people and surely Allah subhanho wa Taala loves the mercy Nein meaning those people that go above and beyond. Now for the perspective of our discussion today, when we are talking about yourself, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says it is to worship Allah subhanho wa Taala as

though you can see him. So we were talking about our belief in Allah subhanho wa Taala what would it be like if you're able to see Allah subhanaw taala you worship Allah subhanaw taala to that degree. Now what this statement actually means is that you will have such a high level of love, such a high level of fear that you would be living, breathing, constant worship of Allah subhanaw taala you will take every moment of your life and cherish it and do your utmost best to do the greatest amount of good deeds that you can. And here the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says that you worship Allah in that state, even though that you are not able to see him and that is the reality of this

life that in this life, we are not able to physically see Allah subhana wa Tada. This is something that is for the hereafter and in the hereafter. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says that it is the Greatest Name of generators, the greatest blessings, the greatest gift of gender, that to be in the company of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And to see his beautiful face will be the greatest luxury and blessing and gift that the believers will have mela spinals other makers from amongst them. Now in this life though, you get to see Allah subhanaw taala signs you get to interact with the speech of Allah in his book, you get to interact with the example of His Prophet salallahu alaihe salam,

you get to interact with all of the physical universal signs, like the sun and the moon, life and death taking place all the time, the alternation of day and night, the alternation of the seasons and all the various creatures that Allah subhanaw taala has created. These are all the signs of Allah subhanaw taala that help you interact with Allah subhanho wa Taala. So this should be increasing our faith and recognizing the magnificence of Allah subhanho wa Tada. Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam goes on to say that even though you cannot see him, know that he sees you. Now let's just pause here. My dear brothers and sisters, I want you to think about you writing

an exam, and the invigilator walking by as you're writing an exam, even though you're not cheating, what happens to your body, your body naturally stiffens up, you want to make sure that the teacher doesn't even assume or think that you're cheating and you get to this

nervous energy, or think about when you're driving on the highway and all of a sudden you see a police car, what happens to you, you'll automatically slow down both of your hands go on the wheel to make sure that again, you do not want to be presumed to be doing something wrong. And that is what sign is meant to be that once you recognize that Allah subhanaw taala is watching you. And Allah subhanaw taala hears everything that you say, and Allah subhanaw taala knows everything that is inside your heart. It is a journey from the time that you're born, till the time that you die, to purify yourself for your meeting with Allah subhana wa tada purifying your character, purifying your

deeds, purifying your beliefs, purifying everything about you, because that is the impact that allows knowledge hearing and sight has upon you. And that is what science is all about. It is this spiritual journey to Allah subhanho wa Taala. So how do we increase our awareness of the sun? How do we increase our awareness of the sun, I want to share three things with you. Number one is the importance of continuously making the vicar of Allah subhanaw taala. There's so many opportunities throughout our day, perhaps you're spending time in the kitchen, perhaps you're sitting in your car, perhaps you may even be on public transport wherever you are, rather than just sitting ideally and

just you know, playing with your thoughts. Unless they're really important, then obviously focus on that. But if you're just sitting idle, during that time, busy yourself with the vicar of Allah subhanho wa Taala take specific time out of your day to remember Allah subhanho wa Taala and that is to say, Subhana Allah to say Alhamdulillah to say Allahu Akbar, to say that in that Allah, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tells us that from the best of remembrances is to say, Subhana Allah, He will hamdulillah he will let you know hey, Allah, Allahu Akbar. This is from one of the best of remembrances that an individual can make, and just to take that time to reconnect with Allah

and recenter yourself. And that is what the vicar of Allah subhanho wa Taala does, it purifies the heart, it cleanses the mind, and it really centers you. Number two, is to spend time with the book of Allah subhanho wa Taala, to spend time reading it and to spend time contemplating it. In order to contemplate the book of Allah, my dear brothers and sisters, we need to understand. So this means that you're either reading a translation, or if you're able to you try to learn the Arabic language so that you can see what aspects of the Quran that you are reading, affect you directly. And you'd be amazed panela the certain times you will be opening up a chapter of the Quran. And it is

something that is directly relevant to where you are in your life, something that just happened in your life, Allah subhanaw taala is giving you advice, you're looking for guidance, and Allah subhanaw taala sends it through your reading of the Koran, and from the greatest of uplifters of Eman is when you start to see the deeper meanings of the Quran, how beautiful the Koran is, in its linguistic format, how deep it is, in terms of how one word can have multiple meanings on how one sentence can even be interpreted in so many ways. And this when you start achieving that and you start feeling that this is one of the greatest uplifting moments of your life. And that is to

understand the Koran after you have reflected upon it. And then the third and last thing to increase our awareness of Allah subhanaw taala and increase our understanding of the Sun is to spend time out in the creation of Allah. And this is one of the beautiful things for those of you that are in Calgary in Alberta. My dear brothers and sisters we are surrounded by some amazing beauty, whether it is the lakes, whether it is the mountains, whether it is the trees, or it's a combination of all of these things coming together. And when you're out in the creation of Allah and you feel the all you are inspired by the greatness of Allah subhanaw taala This will help you reconnect with Allah

subhanaw taala to know that Allah subhanaw taala created you He is sustaining you, he is you know nothing happens, no atom moves, except by the will of Allah subhana wa Tada. And that will is something that inshallah will help us increase our awareness of the Sun so that we can achieve that level or at least try to achieve that level where we're worshiping Allah as though we can see him and even though we cannot see him, we know that he sees us no clearer concluding remark that I want to make about yourself. And all of these phases that we've mentioned is slum Eman. And he said, You have to understand that your faith from time to time will go up and from time to time will go down.

The more good deeds you do, the more your faith will increase. The more sins you incur, the more your faith decreases and sometimes in life when we're not paying attention our sins

will overcome us and our faith will start to decline and we will not even realize it and it is at that time that we repent to Allah and turn back to Allah and start that upward trajectory again, there is no individual from regular human beings My dear brothers and sisters, except that their Eman is peaks and valleys, it is peaks and valleys you will be up you will go down and you strive to go higher even later. So whenever you feel down repent to Allah tried to reconnect with Allah subhanho wa Taala and do good deeds and your Eman will go up and Allah subhanaw taala makers from those that live their lives with sand and Allah subhanaw taala makers from the merci Nein Allahumma
