the pain goes, the pain doesn't go, it just goes away away from your awareness. Because the the experience of pain is very subjective. By the way, I'm not saying it's not real, but it's very subjective, and it's manageable. And there are ways there are mechanisms for pain suppression. One of them one of the most successful you'll see people really like getting themselves into very painful experiences, like physically painful experiences, like squeezing their finger or, or a muscle with pliers, as painful as this could be. And they go through training where they can put their attention on something that consumes their attention.
And they won't feel the pain.
momentarily, they won't feel the pain, as soon as as long as their mind is on something that consumes it completely.
And sometimes you'd be in pain and something happens that really gets your attention. Like something catches you off guard momentarily, you forget, you forget the you forget the pain. And we all experienced that. But in a different way. If you have a subtle form of pain, like toothache, or some pain in the back. It's not very acute, right? But it's substantial. During the day, you don't even feel it. You're not aware of it. But it's there.
It's there. When do you feel it when you go to sleep?
Because you're not doing anything.
And all of a sudden it becomes unbearable, and it's very annoying.
So what about the data? You say, Oh, this pain only comes at night? It doesn't come at night? Is this you're not aware of it.
Okay, so I'm not suggesting that you can
completely get out of the pain. And I don't suggest that because I think pain is unnecessary. Pain is part of our experience. And it's I don't think it's wise. There is a healthy level of experiencing pain that grounds us in reality. I don't believe in people fooling themselves. There are mechanisms where people can fool themselves to avoid pain. You shouldn't lie to yourself at all. But there are ways you can attend to the truth and attended to the truth by
the more and this this ties in with number one the more you train yourself to see the blessings and appreciate them and really value them
You're actually training your attention to take it away from the pain and put it on something else.
And one of the things that
a third, a third advice that I would give, and this is universal, and everyone uses this is to have a proactive approach. You know, one of the most painful experiences we have is when we don't have a say, something happens, and we don't have a say if it exacerbates the pain, especially if it's an unpleasant experience or a painful experience, it makes us feel helpless, and the pain becomes compound.
