The Prophet sallua was constantly receiving information and sending letters to the throne, and had other actions, including a visit to the throne and a visit to the throne in the summer. The Prophet sallua used warfare and political reasons to gain control, and the importance of protecting the Prophet sallua from the enemy. The importance of trusting the Prophet's people and not giving too much pressure on them to make a decision is emphasized. The importance of keeping secret during peace, consulting, and being decisive in making decisions is also emphasized.

00:00:48--> 00:00:49

Last time we

00:00:51--> 00:00:51

wrapped up

00:00:54--> 00:00:56

the period of the sea run between

00:00:58--> 00:01:00

the battles of better and preferred.

00:01:02--> 00:01:05

And so we ended off by looking at

00:01:06--> 00:01:08

some of the minor skirmishes

00:01:11--> 00:01:13

and battles and expeditions that took place

00:01:14--> 00:01:16

in this period leading up to

00:01:17--> 00:01:18

the Battle of Wofford.

00:01:22--> 00:01:27

And so and so now it's time to move on to the battle over

00:01:29--> 00:01:30

which is now

00:01:31--> 00:01:39

the second major battle that the Muslims waged against their enemy Quraysh.

00:01:40--> 00:01:43

This battle took place a little over

00:01:45--> 00:01:48

a year after the Battle of that

00:01:49--> 00:01:55

so precisely in the month of Shawwal of the following year, of the third year of the Hijra.

00:01:58--> 00:02:01

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saw a dream

00:02:03--> 00:02:08

that he would later on interpret as being the result of this battle.

00:02:09--> 00:02:11

And so in Sahih al Bukhari

00:02:12--> 00:02:14

the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam says,

00:02:15--> 00:02:16

I saw a dream

00:02:17--> 00:02:23

that I moved a sword, and its blade got broken.

00:02:25--> 00:02:30

And that symbolized the casualties which the believers had suffered on the day of God.

00:02:32--> 00:02:37

Then I moved it again. And it became perfect as it had been.

00:02:38--> 00:02:39

And that symbolized

00:02:40--> 00:02:48

the conquest, meaning the conquest of Mecca, which Allah helped us to achieve, and the unity of the believers.

00:02:49--> 00:02:51

I also saw cows in the dream.

00:02:53--> 00:03:01

And what Allah always does is beneficial. Those cows appeared to symbolize the faithful believers who were martyred

00:03:02--> 00:03:04

on the day of booklet.

00:03:08--> 00:03:11

So let us start by looking at

00:03:13--> 00:03:15

what led to this battle.

00:03:18--> 00:03:19

What were the reasons that

00:03:20--> 00:03:22

led to this confrontation?

00:03:23--> 00:03:23

And so

00:03:25--> 00:03:27

the reasons go back to four main reasons.

00:03:29--> 00:03:29

The first

00:03:30--> 00:03:32

is religious

00:03:34--> 00:03:34

meaning

00:03:37--> 00:03:41

that the people of Quraysh wanted to stop the advancement of Islam.

00:03:43--> 00:03:46

simple and straightforward. That was always their mission.

00:03:48--> 00:03:55

And they will do everything they could to try to achieve that. They fail to do in America and now

00:03:57--> 00:04:01

they're chasing after the Muslims when they have left and gone to Medina.

00:04:03--> 00:04:09

Allah subhanahu wa Tada says about the kuffaar in the medina Cameroon feel cooler and while

00:04:10--> 00:04:12

we also do not answer the Rila

00:04:13--> 00:04:16

the that the disbelievers spend their wealth, for what purpose

00:04:18--> 00:04:22

to prevent others from the Path of Allah.

00:04:23--> 00:04:41

Firstly, even if you call that Sama, to Kunal Ali Hassan So may Allah Boone Well, Elina, Cafaro, Elijah hen, Amira, Sharon, and so they will continue to spend to the point of regret, then they will be defeated and the kuffaar will be driven to help.

00:04:42--> 00:04:49

So Allah says here that they were spending their wealth to avert

00:04:50--> 00:05:00

people from the deen of Allah. Imam Ashoka money. He says in his tuxedo, this is the objective of the kuffaar is in spending their money

00:05:00--> 00:05:09

He is to stand between the people from becoming Muslim by fighting Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam and mobilizing armies

00:05:10--> 00:05:11

for the objective.

00:05:13--> 00:05:18

So anytime they would mobilize an army, they will do it for this reason

00:05:24--> 00:05:25

the second reason was social

00:05:29--> 00:05:33

Quraysh wanted to wash away the shame, of better.

00:05:35--> 00:05:40

And so this was a serious dent in their reputation. So they wanted to make up for it.

00:05:41--> 00:05:42

So those whose

00:05:44--> 00:05:53

fathers and sons and brothers were killed in better they got together in Mecca, and they said, Oh, Koresh,

00:05:55--> 00:05:59

Muhammad has killed the best of you. So let us use this money

00:06:01--> 00:06:05

to fight him, perhaps we will get our revenge.

00:06:06--> 00:06:07

So Abu Sofia, he said

00:06:09--> 00:06:11

I will be the first to agree.

00:06:15--> 00:06:18

Now what is this money that they were referring to? We're going to talk about it

00:06:19--> 00:06:19

later.

00:06:22--> 00:06:24

Also, among the reasons were economical reasons.

00:06:25--> 00:06:27

And so we spoke about

00:06:29--> 00:06:30

the many reads

00:06:33--> 00:06:35

on the caravans of courage,

00:06:37--> 00:06:41

which they were putting serious pressure on their economy.

00:06:44--> 00:06:48

Quraysh were accustomed to being respected among all the herbs.

00:06:49--> 00:06:54

The Arabs would open up their ways for them whenever they would travel with their caravans.

00:06:55--> 00:06:57

As we know, they had two routes,

00:06:58--> 00:07:05

one to the south to Yemen, and the other to the north, to a Shem to Syria.

00:07:08--> 00:07:09

And

00:07:10--> 00:07:22

a lot of tensions that ensued at Quraysh. How Qureshi were accustomed to this safety and security, something that no other tribe had,

00:07:24--> 00:07:29

you know, the various tribes of Arabia, they were always fighting against each other.

00:07:31--> 00:07:33

Their caravans would be raided, etc.

00:07:34--> 00:07:37

But now this is the first time that their safety and security

00:07:39--> 00:07:40

was put at risk.

00:07:45--> 00:07:46

And then Allah in Surah Quraysh,

00:07:47--> 00:07:48

he mentions

00:07:49--> 00:07:53

that this a custom security would be twice

00:07:55--> 00:07:56

rich later schita you will save

00:07:58--> 00:08:00

the journey of the summer and the journey

00:08:01--> 00:08:02

of the winter.

00:08:04--> 00:08:12

So in the summer, they would go north to Syria. And in the winter, they would go south to Yemen with their caravans trading.

00:08:16--> 00:08:18

Now, what did we mentioned previously, that

00:08:19--> 00:08:24

their trade route to Syria was affected?

00:08:25--> 00:08:28

Because Medina lies on that trade route.

00:08:30--> 00:08:32

And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam will not leave their caravans alone.

00:08:34--> 00:08:36

He would target their caravans.

00:08:39--> 00:08:51

In fact, we mentioned that the very reason for why the Battle of better to police was because their caravan that was led by Sofia, it was coming under attack.

00:08:56--> 00:09:01

But if only the trade route to Syria is affected, how about the trade route to Yemen

00:09:03--> 00:09:05

that was also affected.

00:09:06--> 00:09:13

Why? Because the business of Quraysh was based on buying products from Syria

00:09:14--> 00:09:15

and then

00:09:17--> 00:09:18

selling them in Yemen

00:09:19--> 00:09:20

and vice versa.

00:09:22--> 00:09:27

So we see how both of their trade routes are jeopardized now.

00:09:29--> 00:09:36

So So if one had been made yet, he says Mohamed and his companions have ruined our trade.

00:09:38--> 00:09:50

While we do not know what measures to take against them, we are at loss. They are constantly threatening the coastal area while its inhabitants are at peace or in alliance with them.

00:09:51--> 00:09:52

Where should we go?

00:09:53--> 00:09:58

If we stay here in Mecca, our hometown we will be forced to eat up our

00:10:00--> 00:10:06

Our capitol, basically, whatever we have earned from our business, we're going to eventually consume it.

00:10:08--> 00:10:11

And then that's it. We're not going to have any money left.

00:10:13--> 00:10:20

He says we depend for our lives in our trade with Syria in the summer, and with Yemen, and Abyssinia in the winter.

00:10:21--> 00:10:25

So Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was making things very difficult for them.

00:10:27--> 00:10:29

They were feeling suffocated.

00:10:30--> 00:10:44

And this shows you the strategy of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam of not only afflicting physical harm on his enemy through actual warfare, but also attacking the economy.

00:10:47--> 00:10:49

Also, among the reasons,

00:10:50--> 00:10:51

were political reasons.

00:10:53--> 00:10:55

The status of Quraysh had been shaken.

00:10:57--> 00:10:58

The defeat

00:10:59--> 00:11:04

of Virgil seriously weakened the reputation of Quraysh in Arabia.

00:11:06--> 00:11:11

And so Quraysh were seen as being noble, the most respected,

00:11:13--> 00:11:15

and they were not supposed to be fun,

00:11:16--> 00:11:21

because of who they are. But after budget, now, things have changed.

00:11:22--> 00:11:32

And so, they want to regain their position. And so, there was this political reason to ignite another war.

00:11:35--> 00:11:39

So, these were the reasons that led to the Battle of

00:11:43--> 00:11:46

Quraysh now assembles their army

00:11:49--> 00:11:50

3000 strong

00:11:51--> 00:11:54

with 3000 camels

00:11:56--> 00:11:57

and 200 Horses

00:12:01--> 00:12:03

and unlike the battle a budget

00:12:04--> 00:12:09

this time they include members from other tribes around Mecca.

00:12:11--> 00:12:13

And they also bring with them

00:12:16--> 00:12:17

their women and slaves

00:12:20--> 00:12:22

and then they finance this RV.

00:12:24--> 00:12:24

From

00:12:26--> 00:12:27

what source?

00:12:30--> 00:12:32

What money do they use to finance this army?

00:12:36--> 00:12:37

Specifically,

00:12:39--> 00:12:42

remember, the caravan of Abu Sufian

00:12:43--> 00:12:46

that managed to escape

00:12:48--> 00:13:00

and so he managed to escape and make it back to Mecca. And then the Battle of Belgium to place that caravan and all the wealth of it had remained in Mecca it was not touched.

00:13:03--> 00:13:10

And so, remember I mentioned earlier they got together and they said let us use this money, they were referring to this.

00:13:11--> 00:13:15

They said let us use this money to finance this war

00:13:20--> 00:13:24

now Rasul Allah He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was constantly receiving information.

00:13:27--> 00:13:29

He had spies all over the place.

00:13:31--> 00:13:39

And so Allah Abbas in Abdul Muttalib, or the Walkman was now working for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in

00:13:41--> 00:13:45

we mentioned previously that he took part in the Battle of better

00:13:46--> 00:13:47

on the side of Quran

00:13:49--> 00:13:50

and he was taken as a prisoner.

00:13:51--> 00:13:55

And he told the parcel Salam, Yasuda Allah, Allah muslim.

00:13:57--> 00:14:03

And we mentioned his story and how he was released. He was ransom, and he went back to Mecca. So now

00:14:05--> 00:14:08

he's working for the prophets on Allahu Allah as a spy.

00:14:10--> 00:14:12

He sends a message

00:14:14--> 00:14:17

swiftly to rasool Allah, He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in three days,

00:14:19--> 00:14:25

which is very impressive, considering the modes of transportation that they used to use

00:14:27--> 00:14:30

in those days, three days is very impressive

00:14:32--> 00:14:34

almost 500 kilometers.

00:14:37--> 00:14:41

And so the letter was conveyed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

00:14:42--> 00:14:43

And he had

00:14:45--> 00:14:46

his companion

00:14:47--> 00:14:50

to be been kept, but on the long run to read it to him.

00:14:51--> 00:14:58

And so in this letter, Al Abbas, what are the long run mentions that grace is coming with 3000 men

00:14:59--> 00:14:59

and

00:15:00--> 00:15:06

And he mentioned how many horses he mentioned all the information that the women are coming

00:15:09--> 00:15:16

and so this is the first news that reaches the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam about the plans of Quraysh.

00:15:17--> 00:15:22

And the source of the information was who? Al Abbas alien. And then

00:15:27--> 00:15:36

after Obi Wan Abdullah who had reads to the prophets of salaam, the message, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tells him to keep it a secret. Don't tell anyone

00:15:41--> 00:15:44

then Rasul Allah is Allah, Allah, Allah and He will send them sends

00:15:45--> 00:15:49

one of his companions, and who bad, ignorant will dare

00:15:50--> 00:15:54

to go and blend into the army of correction

00:15:56--> 00:15:59

to get information, so he does that. He goes,

00:16:01--> 00:16:03

and he counts the numbers.

00:16:05--> 00:16:07

And he comes back to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,

00:16:08--> 00:16:09

and

00:16:10--> 00:16:13

gives him the same information that the brothels already had,

00:16:14--> 00:16:20

that their numbers are 3000 they have this many horsemen. They have this many camels.

00:16:21--> 00:16:25

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked him, Are there any women?

00:16:27--> 00:16:31

And so who that he says yes, I saw a woman with drums.

00:16:33--> 00:16:39

So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said their purpose is to fire up the army

00:16:41--> 00:16:44

and remind them about those who are killed in battle.

00:16:49--> 00:16:52

Rasul Allah Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also sends

00:16:53--> 00:16:59

two brothers who were young and as muchness to go and gather information about curation.

00:17:02--> 00:17:06

And so they go and they realize that Croatia is very near

00:17:07--> 00:17:11

and they come back to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and tell him that

00:17:12--> 00:17:17

they have sent to their horses and their camels to greys in the forms around Medina.

00:17:22--> 00:17:27

So now Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam goes to one of the chiefs of the unsought

00:17:30--> 00:17:31

remember the Assad

00:17:33--> 00:17:36

had pledged to protect the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:17:38--> 00:17:43

and that is the whole reason why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam meet huge Hadron to Medina.

00:17:44--> 00:17:48

So whenever there was danger, he would always consult the answer.

00:17:50--> 00:17:51

So he visits

00:17:52--> 00:17:55

one of the leaders of the Ansara sad in Arabia

00:17:57--> 00:18:00

and he tells him that Qureshi are on their way

00:18:01--> 00:18:02

with an army.

00:18:03--> 00:18:08

Rasool Allah He is so long that he was engaged in all the details, and he asked for his opinion.

00:18:10--> 00:18:11

Now before leaving,

00:18:12--> 00:18:17

the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told sad to keep this conversation a secret.

00:18:21--> 00:18:23

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam leaves his home

00:18:24--> 00:18:28

and the wife of sad in Arabia goes up to him and says,

00:18:29--> 00:18:31

What did Rasool allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tell you?

00:18:34--> 00:18:36

So he says it's only your business.

00:18:37--> 00:18:39

So she says she heard everything.

00:18:41--> 00:18:44

It's so sad. He says in the law you are in a urological

00:18:47--> 00:18:51

den sad, he goes to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:18:52--> 00:19:05

And he tells him that look. My wife knows and just in case, the information gets out. I don't want you to think that I am the one who who leaked it. And so Sudha he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told him

00:19:06--> 00:19:08

leave her alone. Don't worry about it.

00:19:11--> 00:19:18

So now Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam holds a meeting with the Sahaba on what to do.

00:19:23--> 00:19:24

He gathers them

00:19:26--> 00:19:28

and he asked them what they think

00:19:30--> 00:19:31

the threat of Croatia is imminent.

00:19:33--> 00:19:35

They're on the outskirts of Medina.

00:19:37--> 00:19:40

So what strategy should they take?

00:19:42--> 00:19:44

And so there were two opinions.

00:19:46--> 00:19:51

The first was that we should fight from within Medina

00:19:52--> 00:19:56

and use it as a base and a fortress.

00:19:59--> 00:19:59

This will

00:20:00--> 00:20:08

allow even our women and children to participate in the fighting by getting on the roof and attacking the army.

00:20:10--> 00:20:15

And this was the opinion that the Prophet sallallahu was on late he favored it.

00:20:17--> 00:20:21

And it was also the opinion that was favored by someone else. Who is that

00:20:25--> 00:20:27

Abdullah in an OBE bin Salman,

00:20:30--> 00:20:31

the leader of the mafia

00:20:33--> 00:20:36

as were the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,

00:20:38--> 00:20:41

he was looking at it from a strategic point of view.

00:20:42--> 00:20:44

Right. The reasons I mentioned

00:20:45--> 00:20:51

as for Abdullah even obey, it was because he was a coward.

00:20:53--> 00:20:54

And he didn't want to go and visiting.

00:20:57--> 00:21:02

So this was the first opinion. The second opinion was the opinion of the majority.

00:21:04--> 00:21:06

And that was that we go out to face the enemy.

00:21:08--> 00:21:16

And their reasoning was that it is shameful to allow our enemy to enter Medina and attack our homes.

00:21:17--> 00:21:28

The unsolved they said, Oh prophet of Allah, we do not like to fight and kill in the streets of Medina. And in the days of Jaya Helia,

00:21:30--> 00:21:32

we would avoid fighting in Medina,

00:21:33--> 00:21:42

we would always go out of the city. And so it's even more worthy for us to avoid fighting in Medina now.

00:21:43--> 00:21:45

Now that Islam has come to us,

00:21:46--> 00:21:48

they said so let us go out

00:21:50--> 00:21:50

and face them.

00:21:56--> 00:21:57

And this was especially

00:21:59--> 00:22:09

the opinion of those who didn't get a chance to participate in the battle better from among the companions, they realized that they had missed out on a lot.

00:22:10--> 00:22:12

And so they were very eager to fight.

00:22:14--> 00:22:16

And they were afraid that

00:22:18--> 00:22:19

the enemy

00:22:20--> 00:22:21

might not intermedia

00:22:22--> 00:22:23

if we stayed here.

00:22:25--> 00:22:29

And so they wanted to fight. They didn't want to miss out on this opportunity.

00:22:30--> 00:22:34

Now, this group we said were the majority.

00:22:35--> 00:22:41

So they started to put pressure on Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam until he finally agreed.

00:22:45--> 00:22:48

But what did we say? That this was not

00:22:49--> 00:22:52

the favorite opinion of the Prophet sal Allahu Allah He was.

00:22:53--> 00:22:54

So

00:22:55--> 00:22:58

rasool Allah He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam stands up.

00:22:59--> 00:23:00

And he leaves the meeting.

00:23:01--> 00:23:03

And he goes into his house,

00:23:04--> 00:23:05

and he puts on his armor.

00:23:07--> 00:23:08

And then he comes out.

00:23:09--> 00:23:10

Now these companions,

00:23:12--> 00:23:13

they were worried now.

00:23:14--> 00:23:19

They felt that they put too much pressure on the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Now he was upset.

00:23:22--> 00:23:24

So they went to Hamza or the Allahu Akbar.

00:23:25--> 00:23:33

And they said, Go and talk to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. We think that we have pressured him too much. And we are willing to go with

00:23:34--> 00:23:36

what he thinks is the better idea.

00:23:37--> 00:23:41

Soy Hamza, he goes to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:23:44--> 00:23:55

And he says, what they asked him to say. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, It is not appropriate for a prophet of Allah to put on his arm,

00:23:56--> 00:23:59

and then prepare for war. And then

00:24:00--> 00:24:12

to take it off, until Allah has decided between him and his any. That's it. I put on my armor on ready to go into this battle. I'm not going to change my mind now.

00:24:13--> 00:24:19

And so here Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was saying that

00:24:21--> 00:24:32

we have to take a decision. And whatever we decide we're going to go with that. We're not going to change our minds. We're not going to be indecisive. If a prophet makes sure

00:24:34--> 00:24:39

he consults his people and then he makes a decision. He will go ahead with it.

00:24:42--> 00:24:44

And this is what Allah commands him to do.

00:24:45--> 00:24:50

Allah subhanho wa Taala says, for everyone who must don't feel alone, or shower home fill

00:24:52--> 00:24:57

part in them. Ask Allah's forgiveness for them, and consult them do Shura with them

00:24:59--> 00:24:59

for either

00:25:00--> 00:25:10

Sumter photo Callahan Allah in the law you hit bull with our Tilly, then when you have made your decision, put your trust in Allah.

00:25:11--> 00:25:14

Allah loves those who trust in Him. Meaning

00:25:15--> 00:25:20

once you have decided this is what I'm going to do after consultations

00:25:21--> 00:25:23

then that's it go ahead with it.

00:25:24--> 00:25:26

Now's the time to put your trust in Allah

00:25:31--> 00:25:33

so now it was time to head out

00:25:34--> 00:25:37

once all the preparations for war were made.

00:25:40--> 00:25:50

Before Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam leaves Medina. He appoints 50 men to guard the city.

00:25:51--> 00:25:58

And they were headed by Mohammed bin Muslim, or the loggerhead. We mentioned Mohammed bin Muslimah previously

00:26:01--> 00:26:01

who remembers

00:26:04--> 00:26:04

he's the one who

00:26:06--> 00:26:08

he's the one who killed Khaled

00:26:10--> 00:26:11

Ashraf.

00:26:16--> 00:26:17

So after that,

00:26:18--> 00:26:22

they decided that their destination was going to be note offered.

00:26:24--> 00:26:26

Now, it's a very large mountain.

00:26:28--> 00:26:29

And

00:26:31--> 00:26:34

it's a few kilometers south

00:26:36--> 00:26:38

or a few kilometers north of Medina.

00:26:40--> 00:26:43

Today it's a part of the city as the city has expanded.

00:26:44--> 00:26:47

But in those days, it was outside of the city.

00:26:49--> 00:26:57

And it was a huge mountain. Wherever you are in Medina, you could see it even today, with all the buildings and everything. Wherever you're standing, you could see the mountain

00:26:59--> 00:27:07

and this is a very blessed mountain. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said about it, that OSHO is a mountain that we love and it loves us.

00:27:10--> 00:27:12

And the Prophet SAW Selim would always give examples.

00:27:15--> 00:27:16

And so, for example,

00:27:18--> 00:27:22

he would say that the reward for praying Salah to Janaza

00:27:23--> 00:27:23

is

00:27:25--> 00:27:27

how much clearer

00:27:28--> 00:27:30

and then to

00:27:31--> 00:27:39

go with the Janaza And better yet, is to and he said that this is the equivalent of the size of Mount record.

00:27:46--> 00:27:52

So the Muslim army marches forth, rasool Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked the Companions,

00:27:53--> 00:27:58

can any of you guide us through a way that will bring us out to the enemy without them realizing

00:27:59--> 00:28:01

so he wanted to go secretly.

00:28:02--> 00:28:17

And so Abu Heiser man will be alone, and he volunteers. And so he leads them out of Medina through a route that is not one of the normal routes outside of the city leading to a third.

00:28:18--> 00:28:22

And this route that he chooses, goes through agricultural land.

00:28:23--> 00:28:25

So, they happen to pass through a form

00:28:27--> 00:28:32

and this form was owned by one of the munaf econ

00:28:35--> 00:28:41

and he happened to be blind, his name was Mitt about it then clearly,

00:28:42--> 00:28:48

now, obviously, walking through a farm damage was an avoidable.

00:28:50--> 00:28:51

So,

00:28:52--> 00:28:54

Middlebury he wanted to stop the Muslim army.

00:28:57--> 00:29:04

He said, If you are the Messenger of Allah, then I do not permit you to enter my property.

00:29:05--> 00:29:07

He then picks up some dirt in his hand.

00:29:08--> 00:29:16

And he says, By Allah if I knew I would strike no one but you Muhammad. I would hit you in the face with this.

00:29:18--> 00:29:18

So

00:29:20--> 00:29:22

this was a red line for the companions.

00:29:24--> 00:29:25

They wanted to kill him.

00:29:27--> 00:29:37

And one of them was even managed to hit him and injure him on his head. But then Rasul Allah, He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam intervened, and he said, leave him Do not kill him.

00:29:39--> 00:29:44

This blind man is blind both in his heart and his sight.

00:29:46--> 00:29:48

And so they left him alone and they continued.

00:29:50--> 00:29:52

Then something major happened

00:29:54--> 00:29:57

as they were proceeding to the battlefield

00:30:00--> 00:30:03

third of the army withdraws.

00:30:04--> 00:30:07

The Muslim army was 1000 men.

00:30:08--> 00:30:17

Abdullah even obey the leader of the Muna vehicle. And his men, they represented a third of the army.

00:30:21--> 00:30:22

And so they withdrew.

00:30:24--> 00:30:27

And they went back to Medina. And so now the Muslim army

00:30:28--> 00:30:30

is about only 700 men

00:30:35--> 00:30:40

the justification that was given by Abdullah he didn't obey. He said,

00:30:42--> 00:30:46

Mohammed listened to the kids. And he ignored my opinion.

00:30:48--> 00:30:48

Remember,

00:30:51--> 00:30:55

we mentioned that when the Prophet also consulted the Companions, there were two opinions

00:30:58--> 00:31:00

and it was Abdullah bin obey who said let us stay in Medina.

00:31:03--> 00:31:07

And so this was his reasoning that he did. Now.

00:31:08--> 00:31:10

This is the first time

00:31:11--> 00:31:16

that he comes out like this. We mentioned previously that the mafia cool came out

00:31:18--> 00:31:22

or went undercover. Right after the Battle of bento

00:31:23--> 00:31:25

prior to the battle about it,

00:31:27--> 00:31:29

they were really cool, open kofod

00:31:30--> 00:31:35

But now that the Muslims were victorious and whether they had to go underground

00:31:38--> 00:31:41

but now this is the first time he shows such opposition.

00:31:43--> 00:31:48

And so, Allah subhanahu wa tahona he talks about this

00:31:51--> 00:31:51

about

00:31:53--> 00:31:54

the moon as a goon with drynk.

00:31:56--> 00:32:00

And how it was something Allah wanted to happen.

00:32:01--> 00:32:09

Not canon Allahu, Leah, Donal Mina, Helena and tamale Hector your knees and Hadith Amina.

00:32:10--> 00:32:14

Allah would not have left the believers in the condition that you are in

00:32:16--> 00:32:19

until he distinguishes the good from the evil among you.

00:32:20--> 00:32:22

It's time to purify the ranks.

00:32:24--> 00:32:27

Until now, among the believers was filled

00:32:29--> 00:32:35

these munafo Goon, these hypocrites, who in their hearts is nothing but cover and hatred for you.

00:32:36--> 00:32:39

We have to get rid of them if we want to fight our enemy.

00:32:41--> 00:32:45

Now one of the companions, Abdullah Abdullah ibn haram,

00:32:46--> 00:32:48

he went after the hypocrites.

00:32:49--> 00:32:56

And he said, I warn you, to not betray your people and your Prophet when they have to face their enemy.

00:32:57--> 00:32:58

So they replied,

00:32:59--> 00:33:03

If we knew that there will be fighting we would not have deserted you.

00:33:04--> 00:33:07

But we don't see that there will be any fighting.

00:33:09--> 00:33:10

So when they persisted,

00:33:12--> 00:33:20

this companion he said, Allah has kept you away from the enemies of Allah. Allah will be sufficient for his prophet, and he doesn't need you.

00:33:23--> 00:33:35

Allah subhanahu Attallah revealed about this incident, this conversation. Allah says, Mama Asada, yo melta Collegium. And if every evening he will hear element meaning,

00:33:36--> 00:33:53

what you suffered on the day, the two armies met, meaning the Battle of it was by Allah's Will, so that he might distinguish the true believers while he element led in an ethical and expose the hypocrites will kill Allah who

00:33:54--> 00:33:56

caught up Selena here with the Pharaoh

00:33:57--> 00:34:02

when it was said to them, Come fight in the Cause of Allah or at least defend yourselves.

00:34:04--> 00:34:29

God Allah mu Peterlin letter dynaco They said if we had known that they will be fighting we would have definitely gone with you. Whom lil Kufri Yona Eden, aka Robin whom little Eman they were closer to cover on that day than they were two. Amen. You're gonna be FYE him malaise if he could be in Walla Walla, Harlem, be nice to moon.

00:34:31--> 00:34:34

They see with their mouths, what is not in their hearts.

00:34:35--> 00:34:37

And Allah is all knowing of what they hide.

00:34:38--> 00:34:40

These are just excuses that they give.

00:34:41--> 00:34:45

But the reality is that they are kuffaar and they don't want to fight

00:34:46--> 00:34:49

their friends and their allies from the kuffaar

00:34:50--> 00:34:59

alladhina all the aquarium waka high to low attire Wynonna booty you qualify the Rahu and unphysical Morimoto in quantum Sadio

00:35:00--> 00:35:13

and those who sat at home seeing about their brothers, if only they had listened to us, they would not have been killed. See? Then prevent that from yourself if what you say is true

00:35:17--> 00:35:18

now there were

00:35:20--> 00:35:21

two tribes

00:35:23--> 00:35:26

who were also about to withdraw

00:35:28--> 00:35:29

from the Muslims

00:35:30--> 00:35:31

Bruce Elena,

00:35:33--> 00:35:35

from the tribe of Al Hasan

00:35:36--> 00:35:39

and then we'll head it up from the tribal and house.

00:35:41--> 00:35:43

But Allah subhanahu Winterhalter made their hearts for

00:35:46--> 00:36:07

Allah subhanho wa Taala says about him. It him a BA Eva tell him income. And tiff Shana Walla Walla, Uma, WA Had Allah He fell yet our Kelly meanwhile, remember when two groups from among the believers were about to withdraw, they were about to become cowards, but Allah was their ally.

00:36:09--> 00:36:13

Allah was their ally, meaning Allah gave them straight to continue.

00:36:14--> 00:36:16

So in Allah that the believers put their trust.

00:36:18--> 00:36:18

So

00:36:20--> 00:36:24

this was a negative thing for these tribes to do, right.

00:36:25--> 00:36:35

But Jabir ibn Abdullah robiola, one who was from these tribes, he says, this verse was revealed concerning us,

00:36:36--> 00:36:47

I wouldn't wish that it was not revealed, meaning, I'm happy that it was revealed. I'm happy that Allah revealed this iron. I'm not embarrassed about it.

00:36:49--> 00:36:53

Why? Because Allah says, Will Allahu Allah Uma,

00:36:55--> 00:36:59

Allah was their ally. So although it may have seemed like something negative,

00:37:01--> 00:37:14

there was good in it. Because Allah said, that it was he who made them steadfast, and he was their friend, he was there Allah, so this is a praise from Allah for these two tribes.

00:37:17--> 00:37:23

Now Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam proceeds and he refuses assistance from the kuffaar

00:37:25--> 00:37:26

as he did in the battle, a battle

00:37:28--> 00:37:38

in the battle, a battle there was a mushrik, who was known for his strength and his courage, he came forward and

00:37:39--> 00:37:46

offered to fight and pretzels and turned him down. And he said, We don't seek assistance from from any Mushnik

00:37:49--> 00:37:55

as a Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was proceeding elder Medina, he saw a large group

00:37:56--> 00:37:59

with weapons, he asked who they were.

00:38:00--> 00:38:03

And so he was told that this is Abdullah even obey

00:38:04--> 00:38:08

with some 600 of his allies from the Jews.

00:38:10--> 00:38:13

So the Prophet sallallahu, Ali was asked, Have they accepted Islam?

00:38:16--> 00:38:17

So they said no.

00:38:18--> 00:38:26

So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, tell him to go back, for we do not need the help of the machinery cool Against The Machine.

00:38:28--> 00:38:31

We don't need the assistance of kuffaar to fight against kuffaar.

00:38:33--> 00:38:34

So he turned them back.

00:38:37--> 00:38:42

But there was another group that the Prophet sallallahu had, he was also turned back

00:38:43--> 00:38:47

from the companions, and they were those who are under age.

00:38:48--> 00:38:52

Those who have not yet reached puberty

00:38:55--> 00:38:58

and so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was turning them back.

00:39:00--> 00:39:11

One by one. He wouldn't ask them, How old are you? He would simply look at the army and anyone who seems too young, he would tell him to go back.

00:39:13--> 00:39:14

So

00:39:15--> 00:39:17

these young companions, they were eager to fight.

00:39:19--> 00:39:20

They wanted to be part of the army.

00:39:22--> 00:39:32

But the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam cared for them, and he didn't want them to get hurt to get injured. Or maybe they're gonna go out and

00:39:34--> 00:39:36

when they see the fighting, they're gonna turn back,

00:39:37--> 00:39:45

you know, which is a major sin in Islam, that once you have reached the battlefield and you are facing the enemy, you're not allowed to.

00:39:46--> 00:39:55

You're not allowed to flee and turn back. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam counted it as one of the seven or 10 major sins in Islam.

00:39:57--> 00:39:58

But if you're young, mazel tov

00:40:03--> 00:40:04

So these youngsters they would hide

00:40:06--> 00:40:10

so that the prophets Allah Who and even someone not see them, but

00:40:11--> 00:40:13

the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam managed to turn

00:40:14--> 00:40:17

several of them back. A total of 14

00:40:18--> 00:40:21

among them was raffia in college.

00:40:23--> 00:40:26

Abdullah bin aroma, the son of armour in a hot tub.

00:40:27--> 00:40:29

Also Zaid in in tablet

00:40:30--> 00:40:32

and Oussama it indeed

00:40:33--> 00:40:36

and no Eman, even machine and bra even as it

00:40:37--> 00:40:39

and Ambleside and Hodari.

00:40:43--> 00:40:45

However, with raffia in Hadith,

00:40:47--> 00:40:51

the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam initially turned him back.

00:40:53--> 00:40:59

So then he told the prophets Allah Allahu Allah will send them however Yasuda Allah, I'm a good Archer.

00:41:02--> 00:41:03

I'm very good at archery.

00:41:06--> 00:41:11

So, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he made him an exception.

00:41:12--> 00:41:14

He said in that case, you can join.

00:41:17--> 00:41:19

So because he was allowed to join

00:41:21--> 00:41:22

one of his friends,

00:41:23--> 00:41:24

some more even joined up.

00:41:26--> 00:41:29

He went crying to his foster father.

00:41:30--> 00:41:31

He said,

00:41:32--> 00:41:36

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam allowed raffia but did not allow me

00:41:38--> 00:41:39

and yet

00:41:41--> 00:41:42

I can be raffia

00:41:43--> 00:41:45

in wrestling match.

00:41:47--> 00:41:50

So his foster father takes him to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:41:52--> 00:42:01

and he tells her suit Allah He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that Samudra can actually defeat raffia in wrestling.

00:42:02--> 00:42:11

So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam calls them both and makes them to wrestle in front of him. And Samudra does defeat raffia.

00:42:12--> 00:42:15

And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam allows him to join.

00:42:17--> 00:42:19

So these were the exceptions,

00:42:20--> 00:42:22

who made it into the Army.

00:42:27--> 00:42:27

After this,

00:42:29--> 00:42:31

the prophets, Allah Allah where he also enriches the battlefield,

00:42:32--> 00:42:33

and

00:42:34--> 00:42:43

prepares for battle. So this is where we'll stop for today. And continue from here next week. But

00:42:44--> 00:42:48

however, before we conclude, tonight, we'll go over

00:42:49--> 00:42:57

some of the lessons that we learned from what we had mentioned. Tonight, the first lesson that we learned is

00:42:58--> 00:43:03

that the kuffaar spend to put a stop to the advancement of Islam

00:43:04--> 00:43:05

and

00:43:06--> 00:43:10

the spin for that millions and billions and trillions.

00:43:14--> 00:43:16

And this is how the kuffaar were in the past.

00:43:18--> 00:43:20

And this is how they are in the president.

00:43:23--> 00:43:26

We see how history is repeating itself.

00:43:27--> 00:43:31

Look at how much the enemies of Islam

00:43:33--> 00:43:40

spend to fight Islam and the Muslims in the billions in the trillions.

00:43:41--> 00:43:49

Whether to wage an ideological warfare and prevent people from accepting Islam or

00:43:52--> 00:43:54

taking Muslims far from their deen

00:43:55--> 00:43:59

or an actual physical warfare, killing

00:44:00--> 00:44:06

Muslims everywhere as we see what's happening today in Palestine. And so

00:44:08--> 00:44:10

lots of money is spent on that.

00:44:12--> 00:44:13

You know, to wage a war.

00:44:15--> 00:44:21

He requires a lot of money we're talking about in the millions and the billions and trillions of dollars

00:44:22--> 00:44:23

and they don't care.

00:44:24--> 00:44:30

If it's for this purpose, they will do it and they're willing to spend all of that money.

00:44:31--> 00:44:34

It's so look at how Quraysh

00:44:35--> 00:44:36

even though

00:44:38--> 00:44:39

even though

00:44:41--> 00:44:42

you know economically they were

00:44:43--> 00:44:44

under a lot of pressure.

00:44:46--> 00:44:48

They should be saving money.

00:44:49--> 00:44:50

Right.

00:44:51--> 00:44:51

But

00:44:52--> 00:44:54

they took that caravan over with Sophia

00:44:55--> 00:44:57

and use it to finance his work.

00:44:59--> 00:44:59

And so the kuffaar

00:45:00--> 00:45:04

of today are very different from the kuffar of the past. Secondly,

00:45:06--> 00:45:26

targeting the economy of the enemy. We spoke about how this was one of the reasons for the battle of offered, that the economy of Quraysh had taken a hit by the Muslims. And so this shows us the importance of targeting the economy of the enemy to weaken it.

00:45:28--> 00:45:30

Wars costs a lot of money, as we mentioned.

00:45:31--> 00:45:39

And if the enemy is waging its war against Muslims today, then it's because their economy is strong.

00:45:40--> 00:45:41

If we collectively

00:45:43--> 00:45:46

target their economy, like boycotting

00:45:48--> 00:45:50

those companies that support

00:45:52--> 00:45:54

the aggression against Muslims,

00:45:55--> 00:46:00

then their economy will take a major hit, thereby bringing an end to their aggression.

00:46:04--> 00:46:05

So if there is

00:46:06--> 00:46:15

a way to help our brothers and sisters, today in Palestine, it is by boycotting these companies that are funding the Israeli army.

00:46:16--> 00:46:35

She has been everything I mean, he says, if the Muslims were to boycott every Christian nation, that helps those who wage war against our brothers, it would have a huge impact. And the Christians and non Christians will know that the Muslims have power and data and that they are one hand.

00:46:39--> 00:46:44

The third lesson that we learned is the importance of keeping a secret as a secret.

00:46:46--> 00:46:49

A secret is a secret that you cannot tell anyone.

00:46:50--> 00:46:55

And so sad in Robbia, he refused to tell his own wife,

00:46:56--> 00:46:59

what the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam had told him to keep a secret.

00:47:03--> 00:47:10

And so even those who are close to us we trust. Sometimes we are open with them.

00:47:13--> 00:47:24

And we tell them secrets that people have told us to keep a secret. And we think it's not a big deal. Because these people are close to me. It's my wife. It's my close friend.

00:47:26--> 00:47:34

However, especially in situations like this, in the context of the security of the Muslims

00:47:38--> 00:47:41

leaking a secret could have dangerous consequences.

00:47:42--> 00:47:50

And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told him to keep it a secret. And he also told obey,

00:47:51--> 00:47:54

to keep it a secret when he read the letter to him.

00:47:56--> 00:47:59

So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would communicate with the Sahaba

00:48:01--> 00:48:03

on a need to know basis.

00:48:04--> 00:48:06

He wouldn't tell everyone everything.

00:48:08--> 00:48:09

He will be selective

00:48:11--> 00:48:13

on who he tells what he tells,

00:48:14--> 00:48:20

and somebody who, so someone who doesn't have to know about certain information.

00:48:21--> 00:48:29

Let's say he doesn't have to know about it. So Saudi Arabia did not tell anyone, even his own wife about the conversation.

00:48:30--> 00:48:31

He didn't go around boasting

00:48:33--> 00:48:42

to anyone that or the Messenger of Allah came to me for advice. And he told me such and such. And he starts showing off. He didn't tell anyone.

00:48:44--> 00:48:49

And so this point is very, very important. Because a lot of times we tend to

00:48:50--> 00:48:54

tell a certain someone, something just because we trust them.

00:48:55--> 00:48:58

And so, if we do that, then we are breaking our trust.

00:49:00--> 00:49:04

The fourth lesson that we learned, is the importance of consulting.

00:49:06--> 00:49:08

And then being decisive.

00:49:11--> 00:49:13

The leader should not be indecisive.

00:49:15--> 00:49:18

The leader should not change his mind every now and then.

00:49:20--> 00:49:26

The leader should not be wavering back and forth, according to who he spoke to last.

00:49:28--> 00:49:30

And so the leader has to make sure

00:49:31--> 00:49:34

he has to listen to different opinions, deliberate

00:49:35--> 00:49:40

and then make a decision but when he makes his decision,

00:49:41--> 00:49:42

then that's it. It's fine.

00:49:43--> 00:49:45

But if it turns out

00:49:47--> 00:49:50

that his decision was wrong, then in this case, he can change his mind.

00:49:51--> 00:49:56

Right if he sees that something else that something else is better.

00:49:57--> 00:49:59

Then he can change his mind in this case.

00:50:03--> 00:50:09

also followers generally, they don't like to be led by someone who is indecisive.

00:50:12--> 00:50:16

And so this is one of the characteristics of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that we have seen here

00:50:17--> 00:50:19

that he had the characteristic

00:50:20--> 00:50:21

of a leader.

00:50:24--> 00:50:27

That's it, I've made up my mind. This is what we're gonna do.

00:50:32--> 00:50:33

The fifth lesson that we learned

00:50:36--> 00:50:44

is that the benefit of the community supersedes the benefit of the individual in Islam.

00:50:46--> 00:50:51

This is one of the rulings one of the laws in our Sharia

00:50:52--> 00:50:53

that where we have

00:50:55--> 00:50:57

a conflict or contradiction between

00:50:59--> 00:51:06

the masala the interest of the wider community and the muscle how or the interest of an individual

00:51:09--> 00:51:11

the interest of the wider community

00:51:12--> 00:51:16

supersedes the interest of the individual.

00:51:17--> 00:51:18

Where do we see this?

00:51:21--> 00:51:24

Where do we learn this lesson from from what we discussed tonight.

00:51:29--> 00:51:32

Towards the opinion of the majority of this know

00:51:35--> 00:51:35

when

00:51:37--> 00:51:39

the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went ahead

00:51:42--> 00:51:43

through that form

00:51:45--> 00:51:56

of the mudra fill the hypocrite. So yes, without a doubt, Islam prohibits harming others and the property of others.

00:51:57--> 00:51:59

Right. But

00:52:00--> 00:52:04

the damage here was done to an individual.

00:52:05--> 00:52:09

But since it was for the benefit of the wider community, then it became permissible.

00:52:10--> 00:52:17

And so the wider community comes before the individual in Islam, when there is a conflict between the two.

00:52:19--> 00:52:20

The sixth lesson that we learn

00:52:22--> 00:52:30

is that the battlefield is what separates the men from the NFL, the believer from the hypocrite.

00:52:33--> 00:52:39

In times of peace, it's hard to differentiate who is a believer and who is a hypocrite.

00:52:41--> 00:52:42

A hypocrite could be anybody.

00:52:44--> 00:52:46

Even one who is praying next to

00:52:48--> 00:52:52

a hypocrite can also be a Mufti or a scholar.

00:52:54--> 00:53:03

You don't know who is the true believer and who is not. But what separates the believer from the hypocrite is the battlefield.

00:53:05--> 00:53:08

As we saw in this battle, in the Battle of art,

00:53:09--> 00:53:11

when it came time to fight.

00:53:14--> 00:53:15

They showed their true colors.

00:53:17--> 00:53:18

They showed who they really were.

00:53:20--> 00:53:21

Prior to that,

00:53:22--> 00:53:23

nobody knew who they were.

00:53:25--> 00:53:27

And again, history repeats itself.

00:53:29--> 00:53:35

In times of war, in times of difficulty when the Muslims are going through hardship, like what is happening right now.

00:53:39--> 00:53:43

The hypocrites in the honor, they have shown their true colors.

00:53:45--> 00:53:46

They have shown their true colors

00:53:48--> 00:53:51

when they are siding with the enemy,

00:53:53--> 00:53:57

against our brothers and sisters, who are being slaughtered in the Hudson.

00:54:00--> 00:54:05

Prior to this, nobody could differentiate. Yes, we could tell. But

00:54:06--> 00:54:09

in times of war, it becomes clear.

00:54:11--> 00:54:12

The lines become clearer.

00:54:13--> 00:54:22

And Allah has a hikma a wisdom in that, as we mentioned, to purify the ranks, and also to send a message that look,

00:54:23--> 00:54:25

if we're going to be victorious,

00:54:26--> 00:54:28

then it's not going to be through them.

00:54:30--> 00:54:32

If we're going to be victorious,

00:54:33--> 00:54:35

then they have to be out of the picture.

00:54:39--> 00:54:43

And so victory is going to come for Allah's believing servants

00:54:45--> 00:54:51

without any filth in the ranks, from among demographic.

00:54:53--> 00:54:59

Finally, one last lesson that we can mention is the X

00:55:00--> 00:55:01

options can be made.

00:55:02--> 00:55:12

There's always a general rule. But there are always exceptions to the general rule. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he made an exception

00:55:15--> 00:55:20

from the youngsters, who he turned back, those who were skilled among them,

00:55:21--> 00:55:25

those who had a certain skill that we can benefit from them,

00:55:26--> 00:55:27

let them join.

00:55:28--> 00:55:29

And so

00:55:30--> 00:55:38

on Rafi urban courage and some are even random. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made exceptions for them, because they had something to offer.

00:55:39--> 00:55:50

And so the reason he had turned back the youngsters in general was because fighting in an army was dangerous. But when someone can prove

00:55:51--> 00:55:56

that they are skilled in fighting, as both of them did,

00:55:57--> 00:56:03

then it just doesn't really matter. Age in that case does not really matter. So these

00:56:05--> 00:56:06

young companions

00:56:08--> 00:56:12

who were experts in certain areas,

00:56:13--> 00:56:17

there were exceptions to the general rule.

00:56:18--> 00:56:36

So this is where we'll stop for today and inshallah next week, we will continue Subhanak along Moby Dick shredwell de la isla and best of yoga to break wa sallahu wa salam ala Nabina Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi Salam Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
