So we continue

00:00:10 --> 00:00:13

with regards to the prohibition of lying.

00:00:35 --> 00:00:36

Said that

00:00:38 --> 00:00:39

the prophet

00:00:40 --> 00:00:41

said, the

00:00:42 --> 00:00:44

the most lyingest of lies

00:00:45 --> 00:00:47

this is a little bit of like hamza

00:00:47 --> 00:00:47

like,

00:00:48 --> 00:00:49

a a sarf here in English.

00:00:50 --> 00:00:52

The the worst of lies, meaning literally the

00:00:52 --> 00:00:55

most lyingest of lies, the most untrue of

00:00:55 --> 00:00:57

lies, I should say, is for

00:00:58 --> 00:00:59

a a a man to

00:00:59 --> 00:01:01

make his eyes see that which they didn't

00:01:01 --> 00:01:02

see. Meaning,

00:01:02 --> 00:01:04

to say I saw such and such when

00:01:04 --> 00:01:06

you really didn't see it.

00:01:06 --> 00:01:09

So be very careful about bearing false false

00:01:09 --> 00:01:10

testimony.

00:01:11 --> 00:01:13

It's okay. It's okay to, like,

00:01:14 --> 00:01:16

admit if you didn't see something with your

00:01:16 --> 00:01:16

own eyes.

00:01:17 --> 00:01:18

We have all of these kind of over

00:01:18 --> 00:01:20

the top expressions. I swear to god. I

00:01:20 --> 00:01:22

saw this with my own eyes literally this,

00:01:22 --> 00:01:23

that, another.

00:01:24 --> 00:01:25

Even if you say it accidentally, say, yeah.

00:01:25 --> 00:01:28

No. Actually, I didn't actually see it. It's

00:01:28 --> 00:01:30

okay. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing

00:01:30 --> 00:01:32

wrong with admitting you're wrong, but better than

00:01:32 --> 00:01:33

that is just not being wrong in the

00:01:33 --> 00:01:35

first place. So shoot for the stars lying

00:01:35 --> 00:01:37

on the moon. You know what I mean?

00:01:39 --> 00:01:41

If a person because of their lies,

00:01:42 --> 00:01:43

they'll be written

00:01:43 --> 00:01:45

in the book of Allah Ta'ala as a

00:01:45 --> 00:01:47

liar until the day they see him.

00:01:48 --> 00:01:49

Then the worst of lies is the one

00:01:49 --> 00:01:52

that you should most stay away from, which

00:01:52 --> 00:01:54

is false witness saying that you witnessed something

00:01:54 --> 00:01:55

that you really didn't witness.

00:01:55 --> 00:01:58

You may have witnessed something that leads you

00:01:58 --> 00:02:00

to believe it's true or something close to

00:02:00 --> 00:02:01

having seen it, but if you didn't actually

00:02:01 --> 00:02:02

see with your own eyes,

00:02:03 --> 00:02:05

it's it's it's it's it's a it's a

00:02:06 --> 00:02:06

very, like,

00:02:07 --> 00:02:09

harsh and and and, excessive

00:02:10 --> 00:02:11

type of lie.

00:02:34 --> 00:02:37

So this is a small subheading with regards

00:02:37 --> 00:02:39

to Riba, but the first one that we

00:02:39 --> 00:02:41

had was with regards to saying it yourself.

00:02:42 --> 00:02:44

Now we're saying with regards to listening to

00:02:44 --> 00:02:45

it.

00:02:46 --> 00:02:47

And there's a slight difference.

00:02:47 --> 00:02:49

Because when you're speaking, you you

00:02:50 --> 00:02:52

as long as you're possessed properly, you know,

00:02:52 --> 00:02:54

properly possessed of your mental faculties, you should

00:02:54 --> 00:02:56

have more control over what you say than

00:02:56 --> 00:02:57

what other people say.

00:02:58 --> 00:03:00

So this is a chapter regarding the impermissible

00:03:01 --> 00:03:04

impermissibility of listening to Reba and the commandment,

00:03:05 --> 00:03:06

for one who hears Reba

00:03:09 --> 00:03:13

backbiting, which is haram backbiting to literally repudiate

00:03:13 --> 00:03:15

it. Say that's reba. Don't don't say that.

00:03:18 --> 00:03:19

And to,

00:03:20 --> 00:03:21

castigate the one who,

00:03:22 --> 00:03:23

says that reba.

00:03:24 --> 00:03:24

Obviously,

00:03:26 --> 00:03:28

whatever, you know, there's a whatever continuum of,

00:03:28 --> 00:03:29

like, use of force.

00:03:30 --> 00:03:31

And in the sharia,

00:03:32 --> 00:03:34

using harsh words with people is considered a

00:03:34 --> 00:03:35

type of violence.

00:03:36 --> 00:03:37

A man who beats his wife and a

00:03:37 --> 00:03:39

man who cusses his wife out, it's the

00:03:39 --> 00:03:41

same complaint to the judge.

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45

The difference between the 2 of them may

00:03:45 --> 00:03:47

be quantitative, but

00:03:47 --> 00:03:49

it's not considered qualitative in the Sharia. Both

00:03:49 --> 00:03:51

are considered a type of abuse.

00:03:51 --> 00:03:53

So if you'd be like, yo, that's Deepa,

00:03:53 --> 00:03:55

we probably shouldn't do that. Then

00:03:55 --> 00:03:58

don't be like, yo, you're a and you're

00:03:58 --> 00:03:59

gonna go to *, so you better just

00:03:59 --> 00:04:01

shut the heck up right now and blah

00:04:01 --> 00:04:04

blah. Don't be all hardcore unnecessarily. Sometimes you

00:04:04 --> 00:04:05

have to be hardcore in order to have

00:04:05 --> 00:04:08

people listen to you. And in cases like

00:04:08 --> 00:04:09

that, it may be appropriate.

00:04:09 --> 00:04:12

But majority of the cases, whatever can be

00:04:12 --> 00:04:14

corrected and adjusted with the soft word,

00:04:15 --> 00:04:17

you must use a soft word rather than

00:04:17 --> 00:04:17

a harsh word.

00:04:19 --> 00:04:20

So that's

00:04:21 --> 00:04:23

a little note lest the person become very

00:04:23 --> 00:04:25

pumped up after having taken this class, and

00:04:25 --> 00:04:27

then, you know, people wonder who's this guy

00:04:27 --> 00:04:28

he's learning from.

00:04:30 --> 00:04:32

If a person isn't able to do that,

00:04:32 --> 00:04:33

isn't able

00:04:33 --> 00:04:37

to, repudiate and castigate the, repudiate the the

00:04:37 --> 00:04:39

and castigate the one making it,

00:04:40 --> 00:04:41

then to,

00:04:43 --> 00:04:43

then to,

00:04:44 --> 00:04:44

at least,

00:04:45 --> 00:04:47

not accept that thing that they're hearing

00:04:47 --> 00:04:48

and to get up and leave.

00:04:49 --> 00:04:51

And if they're not able to leave,

00:04:51 --> 00:04:53

sometimes you're not able to leave. If you

00:04:53 --> 00:04:54

leave like a meeting, you may lose your

00:04:54 --> 00:04:55

job job or you may, you know, in

00:04:55 --> 00:04:58

certain cases, get thrown in jail or, you

00:04:58 --> 00:05:00

know, you may offend people and that offense

00:05:00 --> 00:05:01

will cause

00:05:01 --> 00:05:04

other types of haram things like your relatives

00:05:04 --> 00:05:06

will cut you off or, like, whatever. God

00:05:06 --> 00:05:08

knows what might happen. Right? So if you're

00:05:08 --> 00:05:10

in a situation where you're stuck there,

00:05:12 --> 00:05:14

there's still a a sunnah of what to

00:05:14 --> 00:05:15

do. Allah said,

00:05:19 --> 00:05:21

describing the believers that when they hear a

00:05:21 --> 00:05:23

vain talk, they turn away from it and,

00:05:25 --> 00:05:27

vain talk is anything that doesn't have benefits.

00:05:27 --> 00:05:28

So something that has harm in it is

00:05:28 --> 00:05:28

even,

00:05:29 --> 00:05:31

even more worthy of turning away from.

00:05:35 --> 00:05:37

And in the description of the believers in

00:05:37 --> 00:05:40

Surah Al Mu'Noon, Allah most high said, and

00:05:40 --> 00:05:41

they are the ones who,

00:05:41 --> 00:05:44

turn away from vanity. And Allah Al Mumanun

00:05:44 --> 00:05:44

said,

00:05:49 --> 00:05:51

again, an that was repeated a number of

00:05:51 --> 00:05:51

times,

00:05:52 --> 00:05:54

that indeed the hearing

00:05:54 --> 00:05:56

and the sight and the heart, all of

00:05:56 --> 00:05:59

these things, will be asked about. There's responsibility

00:05:59 --> 00:06:01

with regards to all of these things. These

00:06:01 --> 00:06:03

are these things are all Amanat in

00:06:03 --> 00:06:05

in in the of in the

00:06:10 --> 00:06:12

Yeah. Uh-uh. Yeah. Your half is right?

00:06:13 --> 00:06:14

Yeah.

00:06:16 --> 00:06:16

Right?

00:06:17 --> 00:06:17

Yeah.

00:06:18 --> 00:06:19

Yeah.

00:06:20 --> 00:06:20

Allah

00:06:21 --> 00:06:22

commands you to

00:06:23 --> 00:06:23

return

00:06:24 --> 00:06:25

return trusts

00:06:26 --> 00:06:28

to the ones that entrusted you with them.

00:06:28 --> 00:06:30

And if you judge that you should judge

00:06:31 --> 00:06:32

with justice.

00:06:34 --> 00:06:35

One of the

00:06:35 --> 00:06:36

of

00:06:36 --> 00:06:39

returning Amanat trusts to the ones that entrusted

00:06:39 --> 00:06:41

you with them is your senses,

00:06:42 --> 00:06:44

which is, an amount of from Allah Subhanahu

00:06:44 --> 00:06:46

Wa Ta'ala. This is one of the that's

00:06:46 --> 00:06:47

narrated by the by the

00:06:48 --> 00:06:50

the the Tabi'in with regards to this,

00:06:51 --> 00:06:53

saying of the book of Allah.

00:07:13 --> 00:07:13

Says that

00:07:15 --> 00:07:15

if you see,

00:07:16 --> 00:07:17

those people

00:07:18 --> 00:07:20

who are playing around, who are who are

00:07:20 --> 00:07:21

taking light,

00:07:21 --> 00:07:22

our

00:07:22 --> 00:07:24

then turn away from them until they,

00:07:26 --> 00:07:28

choose something else to talk about

00:07:28 --> 00:07:30

in their in their in their in their,

00:07:30 --> 00:07:31

light speech.

00:07:32 --> 00:07:34

And if Shaitan makes you forget,

00:07:35 --> 00:07:37

then after having received the reminder,

00:07:38 --> 00:07:40

don't sit again with

00:07:40 --> 00:07:42

the the the people of the transgressors.

00:07:43 --> 00:07:44

So the idea is this is that if

00:07:44 --> 00:07:46

you can't get up and leave,

00:07:46 --> 00:07:47

then,

00:07:48 --> 00:07:49

first of all, you should try to get

00:07:49 --> 00:07:51

up and leave. If you can't, then then

00:07:51 --> 00:07:53

stop paying attention to what they're saying. Distract

00:07:53 --> 00:07:55

yourself from their speech until they finish it.

00:08:11 --> 00:08:13

Who was one of the of the Sahaba

00:08:13 --> 00:08:14

radiAllahu anhu.

00:08:14 --> 00:08:16

There's just a handful of Sahaba radiAllahu anhu

00:08:17 --> 00:08:18

who used to, who who were given

00:08:19 --> 00:08:21

authority by the body of the Sahaba to

00:08:21 --> 00:08:22

give fatwa. Not all of them used to

00:08:22 --> 00:08:23

do that.

00:08:43 --> 00:08:45

If a person became Muslim, they wouldn't learn

00:08:45 --> 00:08:46

the Quran directly from the prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:08:46 --> 00:08:49

wa sallam except for the very early, people

00:08:49 --> 00:08:50

who converted to Islam.

00:08:51 --> 00:08:54

Afterward, Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam had official

00:08:54 --> 00:08:56

Quran teachers from both the Muhajrin and from

00:08:56 --> 00:08:56

the Ansar.

00:08:58 --> 00:08:58

And,

00:08:59 --> 00:09:01

there's a lot to talk about that topic,

00:09:01 --> 00:09:02

but we don't have time.

00:09:02 --> 00:09:05

But Abu Darda is one of them. And

00:09:05 --> 00:09:07

you'll see in the early masha'ikh, all of

00:09:07 --> 00:09:09

the uloom were transmitted by the same person.

00:09:09 --> 00:09:10

The same person narrates hadith, the same person

00:09:10 --> 00:09:13

narrates and transmits the Quran, the same person

00:09:13 --> 00:09:14

is the Fatiha, the same person is the

00:09:15 --> 00:09:17

the the Morabi and spiritual matters. The same

00:09:17 --> 00:09:18

person is

00:09:19 --> 00:09:21

all of these they they talk together. So

00:09:21 --> 00:09:22

Abu Darda was the official

00:09:23 --> 00:09:24

Alim,

00:09:24 --> 00:09:26

the representative of the Ilma of the Sahaba

00:09:26 --> 00:09:28

radiAllahu anhu to the people of Sham,

00:09:29 --> 00:09:30

to the people of Syria,

00:09:31 --> 00:09:34

which is a very important position because Syria

00:09:34 --> 00:09:36

is one of the important metropoli of of,

00:09:37 --> 00:09:39

of early Islam. As it is today, still

00:09:39 --> 00:09:39

Allah

00:09:40 --> 00:09:41

give help to its people.

00:09:43 --> 00:09:44

Narrates from the prophet

00:09:46 --> 00:09:47

that whoever,

00:09:47 --> 00:09:50

whoever defends the honor of his brother,

00:09:50 --> 00:09:52

people are sitting there like, oh, you know,

00:09:54 --> 00:09:55

you know, Mubarak,

00:09:55 --> 00:09:56

he is this and he is that. And

00:09:56 --> 00:09:58

the last Latif thing, it didn't happen like

00:09:58 --> 00:10:00

this. And what kind of speakers does he

00:10:00 --> 00:10:01

bring? And blah blah blah and the other

00:10:01 --> 00:10:03

thing the other thing. So if you're like,

00:10:03 --> 00:10:04

no. He's a good guy. He'd had no

00:10:04 --> 00:10:06

idea the speaker was gonna be that crazy.

00:10:06 --> 00:10:08

And he, you know, he put in a

00:10:08 --> 00:10:09

lot of work and effort and he's sincere

00:10:09 --> 00:10:12

and he's blah blah. Whoever defends the honor

00:10:12 --> 00:10:14

of his brother when he's being, when he's

00:10:14 --> 00:10:14

being,

00:10:16 --> 00:10:18

picked at. And that doesn't necessarily only mean

00:10:18 --> 00:10:20

backbiting. Even if he's there and someone's, like,

00:10:20 --> 00:10:22

chewing him out, but you just stand up

00:10:22 --> 00:10:24

and say, like, that's enough. You don't have

00:10:24 --> 00:10:25

to say all these bad things about that

00:10:25 --> 00:10:26

person who's a good person.

00:10:27 --> 00:10:28

And think of obviously, you don't have if

00:10:28 --> 00:10:30

someone okay. Someone's actually in the middle of

00:10:30 --> 00:10:32

robbing a liquor store and you're like, no.

00:10:32 --> 00:10:34

He's a good brother. You know? No. Stop

00:10:34 --> 00:10:35

him from robbing the liquor store. It doesn't

00:10:35 --> 00:10:37

mean that you check your brain in,

00:10:38 --> 00:10:39

in the bank and then, like, you start

00:10:39 --> 00:10:42

shooting your mouth off without using your brain.

00:10:42 --> 00:10:43

Right? Stop him from lot robbing a liquor

00:10:43 --> 00:10:45

store then afterwards say, okay. He has difficulty

00:10:45 --> 00:10:47

in his home. This thing he did was

00:10:47 --> 00:10:49

not right, but he's gonna make Tova from

00:10:49 --> 00:10:51

it and he's a good guy and, you

00:10:51 --> 00:10:52

know, he didn't do it just

00:10:52 --> 00:10:54

within everything, within reason also.

00:10:55 --> 00:10:56

Everything is better when you use your brain.

00:10:58 --> 00:11:00

Everything is better when you use your brain.

00:11:00 --> 00:11:01

There may be some exceptions to the rule

00:11:01 --> 00:11:03

because some brains need some help. But in

00:11:03 --> 00:11:04

general, everything is better when you use your

00:11:04 --> 00:11:06

brain, and it's it's like a habit. Like

00:11:06 --> 00:11:08

riding a bike, you may fall once or

00:11:08 --> 00:11:09

twice in the beginning once you get the

00:11:09 --> 00:11:11

habit of using your your brain.

00:11:13 --> 00:11:13

It's

00:11:14 --> 00:11:16

generally smooth sailing. At least it's better than

00:11:16 --> 00:11:18

than not using it. So the person who

00:11:18 --> 00:11:20

stands up and defends the reputation of his

00:11:20 --> 00:11:23

brothers, who defends the honor of his brother,

00:11:23 --> 00:11:25

Allah Ta'ala will defend their face from the

00:11:25 --> 00:11:26

fire.

00:11:28 --> 00:11:31

So that's good reason to stand up for

00:11:31 --> 00:11:33

one another and not let people chew chew

00:11:33 --> 00:11:34

one another out.

00:11:35 --> 00:11:37

And again, like I said, there's this is

00:11:37 --> 00:11:38

within reason.

00:11:39 --> 00:11:41

If you know somebody has, like, an alcohol

00:11:41 --> 00:11:42

problem,

00:11:43 --> 00:11:44

and someone's like, I'm gonna lend my car

00:11:44 --> 00:11:45

to him,

00:11:46 --> 00:11:48

then, yeah, you might wanna tell that person

00:11:49 --> 00:11:50

don't lend your car to that person because

00:11:50 --> 00:11:52

they have a drinking problem and, like, whatever.

00:11:53 --> 00:11:54

However,

00:11:54 --> 00:11:56

that's different than

00:11:56 --> 00:11:58

saying, like, you know, talking garbage about a

00:11:58 --> 00:12:01

person and casting aspersion on them. And it

00:12:01 --> 00:12:03

doesn't negate. These specific things don't negate

00:12:04 --> 00:12:06

general, the general keeping of the honor of

00:12:06 --> 00:12:07

one another.

00:12:08 --> 00:12:09

And just because someone does, if that person

00:12:09 --> 00:12:11

is an alcoholic but no one's going to

00:12:11 --> 00:12:13

like loan their car to them, it doesn't

00:12:13 --> 00:12:15

mean that you should say bad about it.

00:12:15 --> 00:12:17

Even if there's nobody who's completely perfect after

00:12:17 --> 00:12:18

that.

00:12:20 --> 00:12:22

Even if someone did something wrong and even

00:12:22 --> 00:12:24

if that wrong needs to be redressed.

00:12:24 --> 00:12:26

People do a lot of things sometimes. Sometimes

00:12:26 --> 00:12:29

people do horrible things. Sometimes people are victims

00:12:29 --> 00:12:31

of things that other people did. There's no

00:12:31 --> 00:12:32

there's nothing wrong if you're a victim of,

00:12:33 --> 00:12:35

of somebody else's abuse to stand up and

00:12:35 --> 00:12:36

take your right.

00:12:37 --> 00:12:38

After it's all said and done,

00:12:39 --> 00:12:40

redressing

00:12:41 --> 00:12:44

specific wrongs doesn't negate the the the the

00:12:44 --> 00:12:47

commandment to what? Keep the honor of one

00:12:47 --> 00:12:49

another. Even if the person is the worst

00:12:49 --> 00:12:51

person in the world, the least that you

00:12:51 --> 00:12:52

can do for them is what? Is that

00:12:52 --> 00:12:54

if they make Tawba, you can make dua

00:12:54 --> 00:12:56

that Allah ta'ala make them steadfast on their

00:12:56 --> 00:12:58

Tawba and and and and say what that

00:12:58 --> 00:13:00

person made Tawba inshallah, they'll turn a new

00:13:00 --> 00:13:01

leaf. Even if you don't wanna loan your

00:13:01 --> 00:13:03

car to them, even if you don't wanna

00:13:03 --> 00:13:04

loan them any money because, you know, they're

00:13:04 --> 00:13:05

not gonna pay you back. Even if you

00:13:05 --> 00:13:07

don't think it's a good idea to let

00:13:07 --> 00:13:09

them give the and lead the prayer. Even

00:13:09 --> 00:13:10

if you're not willing to extend anything to

00:13:10 --> 00:13:12

them materially

00:13:12 --> 00:13:14

in your heart for you to not extend

00:13:14 --> 00:13:16

to them at least your goodwill

00:13:16 --> 00:13:19

and whatever capacity you can possibly give it.

00:13:19 --> 00:13:21

Even if it's very little. If you can't

00:13:21 --> 00:13:22

do that then,

00:13:22 --> 00:13:23

you have a problem.

00:13:24 --> 00:13:26

Because Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam used

00:13:26 --> 00:13:27

to do that with the worst of the

00:13:27 --> 00:13:28

mushrikeen.

00:13:28 --> 00:13:29

We should at least to do it with

00:13:29 --> 00:13:31

our own brothers and sisters much less with

00:13:31 --> 00:13:32

other people.

00:13:33 --> 00:13:35

And a person should be very careful, even

00:13:35 --> 00:13:37

people who have wronged you, that you not

00:13:37 --> 00:13:39

harbor so much negativity inside of your heart,

00:13:39 --> 00:13:41

lest it become a habit and it become

00:13:41 --> 00:13:43

the regular disposition of your heart to be

00:13:43 --> 00:13:44

negative to to other

00:13:44 --> 00:13:47

people. Because there's no person whose, anger and

00:13:47 --> 00:13:49

enmity is worth doing that to yourself because

00:13:49 --> 00:13:49

of.

00:14:35 --> 00:14:36

So there's a longer

00:14:37 --> 00:14:39

hadith about the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam

00:14:39 --> 00:14:41

that he went and visited some people who

00:14:41 --> 00:14:42

lived a little bit further out of the

00:14:42 --> 00:14:43

city,

00:14:43 --> 00:14:45

for a specific purpose. And when the time

00:14:45 --> 00:14:46

of the prayer came,

00:14:48 --> 00:14:50

Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam stood to lead

00:14:50 --> 00:14:51

the prayer and then he asked where is

00:14:51 --> 00:14:52

Malik bin Dushum?

00:14:53 --> 00:14:55

And so a man said he's a Munafik,

00:14:55 --> 00:14:57

he's a hypocrite. He neither loves Allah nor

00:14:57 --> 00:14:59

his Rasool Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

00:15:01 --> 00:15:03

Obviously, that's a person from his home who

00:15:03 --> 00:15:03

knows him.

00:15:04 --> 00:15:06

And he must know something about him that

00:15:06 --> 00:15:08

what? That makes him believe that that person's

00:15:09 --> 00:15:10

Islam is not the most solid in the

00:15:10 --> 00:15:12

world. Rasulullah

00:15:12 --> 00:15:14

Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam came to visit their neighborhood

00:15:14 --> 00:15:15

and he didn't even show up to see

00:15:15 --> 00:15:15

him.

00:15:18 --> 00:15:21

So from his point of view, he's just

00:15:21 --> 00:15:22

telling, you know, he's just calling it as

00:15:22 --> 00:15:24

he sees it. But what did Rasulullah

00:15:25 --> 00:15:26

how did he respond?

00:15:27 --> 00:15:28

How dare he not come?

00:15:29 --> 00:15:31

No. What did he say? He said

00:15:32 --> 00:15:34

don't say don't say that. Don't say that

00:15:34 --> 00:15:35

about him. Don't say his

00:15:36 --> 00:15:37

Don't you see that he said

00:15:37 --> 00:15:38

and,

00:15:39 --> 00:15:41

the only reason he said it is because

00:15:41 --> 00:15:43

of he he wished to please Allah

00:15:44 --> 00:15:45

And didn't you know that Allah made the

00:15:45 --> 00:15:48

fire haram on the person who says

00:15:48 --> 00:15:51

and seeks for through saying that the pleasure

00:15:51 --> 00:15:52

of Allah Ta'ala.

00:15:54 --> 00:15:54

Now

00:15:56 --> 00:15:56

saying

00:15:57 --> 00:15:58

is the bare minimum

00:15:59 --> 00:16:00

qualification of being a Muslim.

00:16:01 --> 00:16:04

Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam didn't didn't mention

00:16:04 --> 00:16:07

any other Fadilah or virtue of this person.

00:16:07 --> 00:16:09

That he prays, that he fast, that he

00:16:09 --> 00:16:10

this, that he that. All of a sudden,

00:16:10 --> 00:16:11

don't you see he says

00:16:13 --> 00:16:15

Because of that, by the barakah of that

00:16:15 --> 00:16:17

don't say bad about him, please.

00:16:18 --> 00:16:21

And so if Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, there's

00:16:21 --> 00:16:23

no more disparity between

00:16:24 --> 00:16:27

the Rasool Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and somebody whose

00:16:27 --> 00:16:28

own thinks that they're shady

00:16:29 --> 00:16:31

than there is between you and someone you

00:16:31 --> 00:16:32

think is shady.

00:16:32 --> 00:16:34

So if Rasoolullah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam can

00:16:34 --> 00:16:36

say that much good about a person, you

00:16:36 --> 00:16:37

should also be able to

00:16:38 --> 00:16:40

say that much good about a person. Again,

00:16:40 --> 00:16:41

there is exceptions if somebody

00:16:42 --> 00:16:43

actually he stole my wallet. That's why I

00:16:43 --> 00:16:45

am saying it. Okay. Then go to the

00:16:45 --> 00:16:47

police and like take care of it.

00:16:48 --> 00:16:50

Go address all of your issues that are

00:16:50 --> 00:16:52

exempted by the Sharia.

00:16:52 --> 00:16:54

Once it is all said and done,

00:16:54 --> 00:16:55

again,

00:16:55 --> 00:16:57

the easy path would have been to say,

00:16:57 --> 00:16:59

don't say anything about anyone ever.

00:17:01 --> 00:17:02

The difficult path is that you have you

00:17:02 --> 00:17:05

should redress what's wrong and then after that

00:17:05 --> 00:17:06

stop yourself.

00:17:07 --> 00:17:10

But it should be the Baraka and the

00:17:10 --> 00:17:13

logical superiority, the rational superiority of that path,

00:17:13 --> 00:17:14

it should be clear to people.

00:17:15 --> 00:17:17

That if nobody said anything about anyone, then

00:17:17 --> 00:17:20

the entire Ummah, people would run crazy, in

00:17:20 --> 00:17:21

it and there would be no consequence for

00:17:21 --> 00:17:23

doing and saying bad things. And,

00:17:24 --> 00:17:27

you know, having penalties and for crimes and

00:17:27 --> 00:17:29

for for misdeeds. There's a mercy in it

00:17:29 --> 00:17:31

as well because it stops people from

00:17:32 --> 00:17:34

doing bad things. There's a mercy in it.

00:17:34 --> 00:17:35

There's a mercy in

00:17:36 --> 00:17:37

in in in the law of an eye

00:17:37 --> 00:17:38

for an eye. There's a mercy in the

00:17:38 --> 00:17:40

head of punishments, etcetera, etcetera. Because it's a

00:17:40 --> 00:17:43

deterrent. If it wasn't for them, people would,

00:17:43 --> 00:17:45

you know, commit crimes more. Right? The the

00:17:45 --> 00:17:48

Saudi state, which I by no means idolize,

00:17:49 --> 00:17:50

but nor at the same time is it

00:17:50 --> 00:17:53

completely evil. The Saudi state that enforces the

00:17:53 --> 00:17:55

Hud punishment with regards to theft.

00:17:56 --> 00:17:58

What's the result of that that enforcement?

00:17:59 --> 00:18:01

Very few people steal stuff over there.

00:18:02 --> 00:18:03

You may have other gripes about it or

00:18:03 --> 00:18:04

you may not.

00:18:04 --> 00:18:06

But very few people steal things over there

00:18:06 --> 00:18:08

because nobody wants to get their hands cut

00:18:08 --> 00:18:09

off. To the point where someone will drop

00:18:09 --> 00:18:11

a wallet in a place, it will stay

00:18:11 --> 00:18:12

there for weeks on the on the street

00:18:12 --> 00:18:13

side. No one will touch it out of

00:18:13 --> 00:18:14

fear of being,

00:18:15 --> 00:18:17

out of fear of being accused of of

00:18:17 --> 00:18:17

of theft.

00:18:19 --> 00:18:21

There's a mercy in it. Right? 1 person

00:18:21 --> 00:18:22

person might say, well, that's kinda gross. You're

00:18:22 --> 00:18:24

it's horrible. You're cutting someone's hand off. There's

00:18:24 --> 00:18:25

a mercy in it because things will get

00:18:25 --> 00:18:26

stolen.

00:18:28 --> 00:18:29

So that's fine.

00:18:29 --> 00:18:31

It would have been easier for the nafs

00:18:31 --> 00:18:32

to train the nafs to never say anything

00:18:32 --> 00:18:34

at all, but there would have been harm

00:18:34 --> 00:18:35

for the ummah

00:18:36 --> 00:18:37

in it. And it's definitely easier to shoot

00:18:37 --> 00:18:39

your mouth off and not control yourself when

00:18:39 --> 00:18:40

you speak.

00:18:40 --> 00:18:42

The more difficult path is the one where

00:18:42 --> 00:18:43

you say

00:18:43 --> 00:18:45

to a limit and then you stop yourself.

00:18:45 --> 00:18:47

You have to control yourself and cut yourself

00:18:47 --> 00:18:47

off.

00:18:48 --> 00:18:50

And, but the barakah is in there and

00:18:50 --> 00:18:51

that's the sunnah of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi

00:18:51 --> 00:18:53

Wasallam. And again, it should be obvious to

00:18:53 --> 00:18:54

a person why that's a superior

00:19:52 --> 00:19:54

So there's a a long hadith.

00:19:55 --> 00:19:57

If I'm not mistaken, it's like, I think,

00:19:57 --> 00:19:58

like, the longest hadith in the entire,

00:19:59 --> 00:20:00

Sahih Bukhari. Right?

00:20:01 --> 00:20:03

About the story about the the the 3

00:20:03 --> 00:20:06

people who were supposed to go with the

00:20:07 --> 00:20:07

with the,

00:20:08 --> 00:20:10

the army that went to Tabuk with Rasulullah

00:20:10 --> 00:20:11

Sallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

00:20:13 --> 00:20:14

And when the army came back,

00:20:15 --> 00:20:17

all the they came and presented their excuses

00:20:17 --> 00:20:19

why it didn't go, why it didn't go.

00:20:19 --> 00:20:19

And,

00:20:21 --> 00:20:23

those 3, they at least had enough

00:20:24 --> 00:20:25

they had enough,

00:20:26 --> 00:20:26

like,

00:20:28 --> 00:20:29

decency to

00:20:29 --> 00:20:31

not lie. They said we should have gone.

00:20:31 --> 00:20:32

We could have gone. We didn't go.

00:20:33 --> 00:20:35

We're not gonna lie to you that there's

00:20:35 --> 00:20:36

a reason that we didn't go.

00:20:36 --> 00:20:37

And so,

00:20:38 --> 00:20:40

that's a very long hadith. And so as

00:20:40 --> 00:20:42

part of that hadith, when Rasulullah

00:20:42 --> 00:20:43

was in Tabuk,

00:20:46 --> 00:20:48

he asked, where's where's

00:20:49 --> 00:20:50

Kabib N Malik?

00:20:51 --> 00:20:52

Kabib N Malik was

00:20:53 --> 00:20:53

uh-uh,

00:20:54 --> 00:20:56

one of those 3 people and

00:20:57 --> 00:20:59

asked where is he? So a man from

00:20:59 --> 00:21:02

Banus Salamah said what? He said, O Messenger

00:21:02 --> 00:21:02

of Allah,

00:21:03 --> 00:21:05

his vanity and his arrogance held him back.

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09

His vanity and his arrogance held him back.

00:21:09 --> 00:21:11

Mu'adh ibn Jabal radiAllahu anhu

00:21:14 --> 00:21:16

was another one of the few Sahaba

00:21:17 --> 00:21:18

who were given ijazah

00:21:18 --> 00:21:20

for giving giving fatwa to the point where

00:21:21 --> 00:21:23

he used to actually hear cases and judge

00:21:23 --> 00:21:25

them during the lifetime of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi

00:21:25 --> 00:21:27

Wasallam. Said Na'ali used to do that, Mu'azban

00:21:27 --> 00:21:29

Jabbal to do that. Very few people. But

00:21:29 --> 00:21:31

the messenger of Allah is still there. He

00:21:31 --> 00:21:32

used to send people to settle people's disputes.

00:21:32 --> 00:21:34

He didn't use to hear all the disputes

00:21:34 --> 00:21:36

on his own. Rather, he he just

00:21:38 --> 00:21:40

literally as a during the lifetime of the

00:21:40 --> 00:21:41

prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

00:21:42 --> 00:21:44

He he in the front of the prophet

00:21:44 --> 00:21:46

Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam chastised

00:21:46 --> 00:21:47

chastised

00:21:47 --> 00:21:49

this person and says, don't say that about

00:21:49 --> 00:21:50

him.

00:21:50 --> 00:21:52

What a horrible thing you said about him.

00:21:52 --> 00:21:54

We don't know anything about him except for

00:21:54 --> 00:21:56

good. And the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi

00:21:56 --> 00:21:58

Wasallam in this case, by Wahi, he knew

00:21:59 --> 00:22:00

that Kab bin Malik had no good reason

00:22:00 --> 00:22:02

to stay back. So he stayed quiet.

00:22:04 --> 00:22:05

Meaning what?

00:22:06 --> 00:22:07

A, he didn't disapprove of what Mu'adh ibn

00:22:07 --> 00:22:09

Jabal did because Mu'adh ibn Jabal didn't know

00:22:09 --> 00:22:10

that he had no reason to to hang

00:22:10 --> 00:22:11

back.

00:22:11 --> 00:22:13

So he had Husnabban. He had a good

00:22:13 --> 00:22:15

opinion of his brother and defended him. Rasulullah

00:22:15 --> 00:22:18

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam a didn't chastise Mu'ad

00:22:18 --> 00:22:20

bin Jabal radiallahu anhu nor did he nor

00:22:20 --> 00:22:21

did he,

00:22:21 --> 00:22:23

see it proper in that

00:22:23 --> 00:22:25

situation to correct him either.

00:22:26 --> 00:22:28

To correct him and to actually say something

00:22:28 --> 00:22:29

that, no, he actually had no reason of

00:22:29 --> 00:22:30

coming.

00:22:31 --> 00:22:33

And so that's a very long hadith. There's

00:22:33 --> 00:22:34

a lot of lessons in it for for

00:22:34 --> 00:22:35

everybody.

00:22:35 --> 00:22:37

One of the more interesting lessons actually is

00:22:37 --> 00:22:39

that the Kaban Malik was the friends of

00:22:39 --> 00:22:41

the Christian king of Hassan,

00:22:41 --> 00:22:44

the the client state Arab client state of

00:22:44 --> 00:22:46

Christian Arabs that were clients of the Byzantine

00:22:46 --> 00:22:47

Roman Empire.

00:22:47 --> 00:22:49

And so when the king of Hassan

00:22:49 --> 00:22:51

heard that the

00:22:51 --> 00:22:53

the Sahaba had, like,

00:22:53 --> 00:22:55

given the silent treatment to his old friend,

00:22:55 --> 00:22:57

Said, what is this weird religion you joined?

00:22:58 --> 00:23:00

Why don't you come to me? I'll give

00:23:00 --> 00:23:01

you a house. I'll give you this. I'll

00:23:01 --> 00:23:02

give you that. We'll live it up like

00:23:02 --> 00:23:04

the old days. Leave these weird weird people.

00:23:05 --> 00:23:06

So one of the the the the interesting

00:23:06 --> 00:23:09

lessons that we learned in in in, Dura

00:23:09 --> 00:23:10

and my madrasah,

00:23:11 --> 00:23:12

the sheikh Hadisi, he said that he said,

00:23:12 --> 00:23:13

look,

00:23:13 --> 00:23:15

this is a constant from that time until

00:23:15 --> 00:23:17

this time that whenever the Muslims give Dawah

00:23:17 --> 00:23:19

to the Nasara, they'll say what? You believe

00:23:19 --> 00:23:21

in God. We believe in God. You believe

00:23:21 --> 00:23:22

in virtue. We believe in virtue.

00:23:23 --> 00:23:24

We'll tell them that, look, we practice what

00:23:24 --> 00:23:26

we preach way more than you do.

00:23:28 --> 00:23:30

You ever saw the the the the,

00:23:30 --> 00:23:31

documentary,

00:23:32 --> 00:23:33

Jesus Camp?

00:23:33 --> 00:23:35

It's a documentary about a Pentecostal

00:23:36 --> 00:23:36

evangelical

00:23:37 --> 00:23:38

woman,

00:23:38 --> 00:23:41

and she wanted to run training camps.

00:23:41 --> 00:23:43

She said, I saw how Muslim kids fast

00:23:43 --> 00:23:45

and how they're, like, from a young age

00:23:45 --> 00:23:47

willing to do anything for their religion. And

00:23:47 --> 00:23:48

I thought, how come we can't have our

00:23:48 --> 00:23:50

Christian kids do that? Literally. And even though

00:23:50 --> 00:23:52

she hates Islam, but she's like, no. This

00:23:52 --> 00:23:54

is one thing that Muslims do well. Right?

00:23:54 --> 00:23:55

So what is our dawah to them? Is

00:23:55 --> 00:23:57

that what we both claim the same thing,

00:23:57 --> 00:23:59

but we practice what we preach more than

00:23:59 --> 00:23:59

you do.

00:24:01 --> 00:24:03

The flip side is always what? Their dawah

00:24:03 --> 00:24:05

to us is always what? Join us. It'll

00:24:05 --> 00:24:06

be good for your dunya.

00:24:08 --> 00:24:09

Colonization

00:24:09 --> 00:24:12

will modernize. You'll get a good education. It'll

00:24:12 --> 00:24:14

be good for your economy, industry, this, that,

00:24:14 --> 00:24:15

and the other thing.

00:24:16 --> 00:24:18

We'll feed you. You can have a place

00:24:18 --> 00:24:20

to sleep. We'll give you a meal to

00:24:20 --> 00:24:22

eat. We'll send aid to your country, etcetera,

00:24:22 --> 00:24:23

etcetera.

00:24:24 --> 00:24:25

So I thought that was worthy of that

00:24:25 --> 00:24:27

was worthy of mention that he actually extracted

00:24:27 --> 00:24:29

that. He said that it's not a new

00:24:29 --> 00:24:30

thing. It's so old. Even the king of

00:24:30 --> 00:24:32

Hassan, he didn't say that these people are

00:24:32 --> 00:24:33

immoral people. He just said that, like, just

00:24:33 --> 00:24:35

come. We'll have we'll have fun. I'll buy

00:24:35 --> 00:24:37

you a house. We'll get you a slave

00:24:37 --> 00:24:39

girl. We'll get you money, gold, and silver,

00:24:39 --> 00:24:41

and all of these things. And,

00:24:41 --> 00:24:43

and the king of Hassan used to live

00:24:43 --> 00:24:44

it up. That's another whole

00:24:45 --> 00:24:47

the the descriptions of the lavish amount of

00:24:47 --> 00:24:48

wealth that he had,

00:24:49 --> 00:24:51

are very interesting. He actually became Muslim at

00:24:51 --> 00:24:52

one time. You know that?

00:24:52 --> 00:24:54

The king of Hassan Jabla, the king of

00:24:54 --> 00:24:56

the Hassasina, he became Muslim,

00:24:56 --> 00:24:58

and he was making tawafar on the Kaaba.

00:24:59 --> 00:25:02

And, poor Bedouin accidentally bumped into him, and

00:25:02 --> 00:25:04

so he hit him. He punched him in

00:25:04 --> 00:25:05

the in front of the Kaaba.

00:25:06 --> 00:25:07

And so that Bedouin went to say, the

00:25:07 --> 00:25:09

Omar during his reign to complain that this

00:25:09 --> 00:25:10

guy

00:25:11 --> 00:25:12

I bumped into him by accident. He punched

00:25:12 --> 00:25:13

me.

00:25:13 --> 00:25:16

And so said, Nama radiallahu anhu called him

00:25:16 --> 00:25:17

for judgment that,

00:25:19 --> 00:25:21

that you struck struck a man in the

00:25:21 --> 00:25:22

Kaaba unjustly.

00:25:23 --> 00:25:24

And so he found him guilty, and he

00:25:24 --> 00:25:26

said to the bedouin, now hit him back

00:25:26 --> 00:25:27

as his punishment.

00:25:28 --> 00:25:29

And the king, he says,

00:25:30 --> 00:25:32

woah. I'm new in Islam. This is difficult

00:25:32 --> 00:25:34

for me to accept. Give me 3 days

00:25:34 --> 00:25:36

to prepare for your judgment. Said, Omar says,

00:25:36 --> 00:25:38

take your 3 days. He bounced. He went

00:25:38 --> 00:25:39

to he went to Constantinople,

00:25:40 --> 00:25:43

joined the the Byzantine Roman emperor, and renounced

00:25:43 --> 00:25:45

his Islam, and he died as an apostate.

00:25:46 --> 00:25:48

And his complaint about Islam was because of

00:25:48 --> 00:25:48

his justice.

00:25:49 --> 00:25:50

So

00:25:51 --> 00:25:52

go figure.

00:25:53 --> 00:25:54

So

00:25:54 --> 00:25:56

this is now the next lesson,

00:25:56 --> 00:25:58

which has to do with what? It has

00:25:58 --> 00:26:00

to do with the

00:26:01 --> 00:26:02

2

00:26:03 --> 00:26:04

limbs of the heart that we haven't mentioned

00:26:04 --> 00:26:06

yet. Thus far, we mentioned the tongue and

00:26:06 --> 00:26:07

the senses.

00:26:08 --> 00:26:10

Okay? These two limbs,

00:26:10 --> 00:26:12

are are slightly different in the sense that

00:26:13 --> 00:26:15

they're one stacked on top of the other.

00:26:15 --> 00:26:17

Right? These are the 2 shahuatayn. These are

00:26:17 --> 00:26:18

the 2,

00:26:19 --> 00:26:21

limbs, the inroads to the heart that are

00:26:21 --> 00:26:22

connected with

00:26:23 --> 00:26:25

a natural desire that a person has, which

00:26:25 --> 00:26:27

is the desire to for food and drink

00:26:28 --> 00:26:30

and the desire for the the carnal desire

00:26:30 --> 00:26:32

for, the sexual appetite that a human being

00:26:32 --> 00:26:33

has.

00:26:34 --> 00:26:35

And the 2 are built 1 on top

00:26:35 --> 00:26:37

of the other. Classically, the ulama understood them

00:26:37 --> 00:26:39

to be built on one on top of

00:26:39 --> 00:26:41

the other. The person who can control his

00:26:41 --> 00:26:42

eating and drinking,

00:26:42 --> 00:26:44

their sexual appetite will be in control.

00:26:45 --> 00:26:47

Whereas, if one is the the eating and

00:26:47 --> 00:26:48

drinking is out of control, the sexual appetite

00:26:48 --> 00:26:50

will be out of control as well. This

00:26:50 --> 00:26:52

is an insight that's also gleaned by the

00:26:52 --> 00:26:54

from the sunnah. Why

00:26:54 --> 00:26:56

or how? What's the dulil? The proof of

00:26:56 --> 00:26:58

it. The proof is it of it is

00:26:58 --> 00:27:00

that what is the what is the,

00:27:01 --> 00:27:02

solution, Rassoulullah

00:27:02 --> 00:27:05

Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, for a young man

00:27:05 --> 00:27:06

who cannot cannot control or a young person

00:27:06 --> 00:27:09

who cannot control their sexual appetite, but also

00:27:09 --> 00:27:10

cannot get married.

00:27:12 --> 00:27:13

Fasting.

00:27:14 --> 00:27:16

If you can decrease the the amount of

00:27:16 --> 00:27:18

intake that the body has to a certain

00:27:18 --> 00:27:18

point,

00:27:19 --> 00:27:20

it may not work in one day or

00:27:20 --> 00:27:22

2 days. But after

00:27:22 --> 00:27:24

1 month, 2 months, 3 months of fasting,

00:27:24 --> 00:27:26

you wear down the body enough that it

00:27:26 --> 00:27:29

it puts the the sexual appetite into check.

00:27:29 --> 00:27:31

And notice that this is not the first

00:27:31 --> 00:27:34

solution. The first solution is what? Get married.

00:27:38 --> 00:27:39

If you can get married, this is the

00:27:39 --> 00:27:41

this is the 2nd best.

00:27:41 --> 00:27:43

We don't have we don't have, like, a

00:27:43 --> 00:27:45

celibacy of being monks and things like that

00:27:45 --> 00:27:47

in Islam. And we see the people who

00:27:47 --> 00:27:50

actually practice that goes wrong. It doesn't it

00:27:50 --> 00:27:53

doesn't work out in the end. It goes

00:27:53 --> 00:27:54

to weird places, and it's not something that

00:27:54 --> 00:27:55

a person should do.

00:27:56 --> 00:27:58

And this is something that we, you know,

00:27:58 --> 00:27:59

we have culturally

00:28:00 --> 00:28:02

both in America and in many countries that

00:28:02 --> 00:28:04

we come from, the Indian subcontinent because,

00:28:06 --> 00:28:08

the Muslims of the subcontinent may be

00:28:09 --> 00:28:11

by but they're by culture. So

00:28:11 --> 00:28:13

we have the same hang ups that that

00:28:13 --> 00:28:15

that that that Europe had that

00:28:15 --> 00:28:15

somehow

00:28:16 --> 00:28:18

the sexual appetite is completely evil or whatever.

00:28:18 --> 00:28:20

The deen doesn't teach that it's evil. The

00:28:20 --> 00:28:23

deen teaches that it's misuse is evil. It's

00:28:23 --> 00:28:24

control over you to the point where you

00:28:24 --> 00:28:26

commit haram as evil. Otherwise, in and of

00:28:26 --> 00:28:28

itself, there's nothing wrong with it. Otherwise,

00:28:29 --> 00:28:31

was married to 9 women at one time.

00:28:31 --> 00:28:33

It comes in the hadith, that the,

00:28:36 --> 00:28:37

at times would

00:28:38 --> 00:28:40

go and consummate his marriage with all of

00:28:40 --> 00:28:42

his wives in the same day. If there's

00:28:42 --> 00:28:45

something evil about that, then this wouldn't have

00:28:45 --> 00:28:45

been possible.

00:28:46 --> 00:28:48

Rather, there's nothing evil or wrong with it.

00:28:48 --> 00:28:49

It just has to be in its proper

00:28:49 --> 00:28:51

place, in its proper context.

00:28:51 --> 00:28:54

And making extremism in either in either way

00:28:54 --> 00:28:57

by completely letting it go beyond any check

00:28:57 --> 00:28:59

or boundary, just like that's evil,

00:28:59 --> 00:29:02

suppressing it in in unnatural ways also can

00:29:02 --> 00:29:04

become very evil as we,

00:29:05 --> 00:29:06

have seen in,

00:29:07 --> 00:29:08

you know, with all these kind of, like,

00:29:08 --> 00:29:10

priest scandals and things like that. That that

00:29:10 --> 00:29:12

doesn't work out in the end. It actually

00:29:12 --> 00:29:14

becomes even worse later on, if you don't

00:29:14 --> 00:29:16

deal with it properly. So as a stopgap

00:29:16 --> 00:29:19

and a temporary measure, the understanding is that

00:29:19 --> 00:29:21

a person may fast in order to control

00:29:21 --> 00:29:23

to help control themselves until they can get

00:29:23 --> 00:29:25

married. But the actual goal is is marriage.

00:29:26 --> 00:29:28

Within that, fasting helps a person to,

00:29:29 --> 00:29:32

ease the control that this desire has on

00:29:32 --> 00:29:32

a person.

00:29:42 --> 00:29:44

That one day you'll be asked, then one

00:29:44 --> 00:29:45

day you'll be asked

00:29:45 --> 00:29:46

about the blessings Allah

00:29:47 --> 00:29:48

gave you.

00:29:49 --> 00:29:52

As a reference to what, the most primary

00:29:53 --> 00:29:55

expression of a person's risk is the thing

00:29:55 --> 00:29:55

that they eat.

00:29:56 --> 00:29:57

The the the food that they eat. The

00:29:58 --> 00:30:00

most primary expression of a person's sustenance from

00:30:00 --> 00:30:00

Allah

00:30:01 --> 00:30:03

is is expressed in their food.

00:30:52 --> 00:30:52

Muslim.

00:30:53 --> 00:30:55

So this is my,

00:30:56 --> 00:30:58

proof I put between as a shield between

00:30:58 --> 00:30:59

myself

00:30:59 --> 00:31:03

and anybody who after this will say, why

00:31:03 --> 00:31:05

is it that the olema constantly, all they

00:31:05 --> 00:31:07

can talk about is halal halal, you should

00:31:07 --> 00:31:08

eat halal and

00:31:09 --> 00:31:12

whatever. And I have a fatwa from whatever

00:31:12 --> 00:31:13

Sheikh Fulan, Ibn

00:31:13 --> 00:31:14

Quran that,

00:31:15 --> 00:31:17

that it's okay. I can eat x, y,

00:31:17 --> 00:31:18

and z anything I want to. And this

00:31:18 --> 00:31:21

is America, and you're backwards, and there's more

00:31:21 --> 00:31:22

important things to deal with and blah blah

00:31:22 --> 00:31:24

blah ad nauseam, the kind of weird long

00:31:24 --> 00:31:27

grocery list of things that people, standard, get

00:31:27 --> 00:31:29

upset about when it comes to this issue

00:31:29 --> 00:31:31

about being careful about what you eat. And

00:31:31 --> 00:31:34

I will admit, one reason people are fed

00:31:34 --> 00:31:35

up with this issue

00:31:35 --> 00:31:37

is that for a very long time in

00:31:37 --> 00:31:39

America, massages didn't have imams.

00:31:39 --> 00:31:41

And still to this day, the majority of

00:31:41 --> 00:31:42

the imams and the masajid are not people

00:31:42 --> 00:31:43

who are actually trained

00:31:44 --> 00:31:45

in in in in fiqh, much less any

00:31:45 --> 00:31:46

other academic

00:31:46 --> 00:31:47

tradition

00:31:47 --> 00:31:50

or branch of knowledge traditionally.

00:31:51 --> 00:31:54

So there's a lot of weird pseudo arguments

00:31:54 --> 00:31:56

that go back and forth. So someone will

00:31:56 --> 00:31:57

say, Well the Qur'an says you can eat

00:31:57 --> 00:31:58

the meat of the people in a book.

00:32:00 --> 00:32:01

Well, it does say that.

00:32:01 --> 00:32:03

But if a machine slaughtered your animal, is

00:32:03 --> 00:32:04

the machine a Christian or a Jew or

00:32:04 --> 00:32:06

a Muslim? Or is the machine an atheist?

00:32:06 --> 00:32:08

Or is the machine agnostic that it wonders

00:32:08 --> 00:32:10

from time to time, is there a God

00:32:10 --> 00:32:11

or not?

00:32:14 --> 00:32:16

And then that uneducated person doesn't even think

00:32:16 --> 00:32:18

about all of these possibilities. Then he says

00:32:18 --> 00:32:20

to the next guy, and, you know, who's

00:32:20 --> 00:32:22

operating the machine? Is he a Christian? Is

00:32:22 --> 00:32:24

he a Jewish? Is is it that they

00:32:24 --> 00:32:26

have, like, only the Presbyterian church is the

00:32:26 --> 00:32:27

only one who, like, runs,

00:32:28 --> 00:32:29

slaughterhouses in this country?

00:32:30 --> 00:32:31

And then the next person says, no. No.

00:32:31 --> 00:32:31

No. No.

00:32:33 --> 00:32:35

The the, I've heard this before. It's so

00:32:35 --> 00:32:38

ridiculous. Oh, my goodness. Someone said many people

00:32:38 --> 00:32:40

have heard this. No. No. The Quran says

00:32:40 --> 00:32:42

the Christians and Jews of of the of

00:32:42 --> 00:32:44

the old time because they didn't used to

00:32:44 --> 00:32:46

do shirk. Oh, yeah. Really? It actually says

00:32:46 --> 00:32:48

in the Quran they used to do shirk

00:32:48 --> 00:32:48

back in the day, in time

00:32:50 --> 00:32:52

those mashriqing Christians and Jews, they're the ones

00:32:52 --> 00:32:54

that the slaughter of theirs is is is,

00:32:54 --> 00:32:55

permissible to eat.

00:32:56 --> 00:32:57

So people make up their kind of dumb

00:32:57 --> 00:32:59

reasons. They go back and forth with it.

00:32:59 --> 00:33:00

Everyone gets fed up. And now all of

00:33:00 --> 00:33:02

a sudden, this is an issue, becomes a

00:33:02 --> 00:33:03

laughingstock amongst people even though,

00:33:04 --> 00:33:05

thank you very much. We do have a

00:33:05 --> 00:33:07

sharia. We do have fift with regards to

00:33:07 --> 00:33:09

these things, and there is, like, clear rulings

00:33:09 --> 00:33:12

about them. But now because it's like a

00:33:12 --> 00:33:12

lineup, usual suspects. There's, like, you know, the

00:33:12 --> 00:33:13

the jackal and the hyena and the

00:33:19 --> 00:33:19

wolf and the,

00:33:20 --> 00:33:22

orangutan and the baboon and the lion. They're

00:33:22 --> 00:33:24

all in the same line lineup, and they're

00:33:24 --> 00:33:25

all saying, I'm the king of the jungle.

00:33:25 --> 00:33:26

I'm the king of the jungle. Ever since

00:33:26 --> 00:33:28

forget you. You guys are all crazy.

00:33:28 --> 00:33:29

No. That doesn't

00:33:30 --> 00:33:32

that doesn't mean that everyone's crazy. But the

00:33:32 --> 00:33:34

problem is I I

00:33:34 --> 00:33:36

appreciate the fact that people in the general

00:33:36 --> 00:33:38

public don't have the tools to evaluate who

00:33:38 --> 00:33:40

knows what they're talking about, who doesn't.

00:33:40 --> 00:33:42

All I can say is this is not

00:33:42 --> 00:33:43

a fit class. So we're not gonna go

00:33:43 --> 00:33:45

into that issue all that much more except

00:33:45 --> 00:33:47

to say this is an important issue.

00:33:48 --> 00:33:50

This is a this issue is a prerequisite

00:33:50 --> 00:33:52

to your progress and any other thing with

00:33:52 --> 00:33:53

regards to the deen.

00:33:54 --> 00:33:55

And what does Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam

00:33:55 --> 00:33:56

said?

00:33:57 --> 00:33:58

Who said that the Messenger of Allah

00:33:59 --> 00:34:01

stood in front of the people and said,

00:34:01 --> 00:34:03

indeed Allah is pure and he doesn't accept

00:34:03 --> 00:34:05

anything other than that which is pure.

00:34:07 --> 00:34:09

Indeed, Allah is pure and he doesn't accept

00:34:09 --> 00:34:11

anything other than that which is pure. If

00:34:11 --> 00:34:13

somebody were to hand you the bottle of

00:34:13 --> 00:34:14

water,

00:34:14 --> 00:34:16

and say, It's pure.

00:34:16 --> 00:34:20

There's only one drop of urine in it.

00:34:20 --> 00:34:21

If they didn't tell you, you wouldn't have

00:34:21 --> 00:34:22

even known,

00:34:23 --> 00:34:26

And it probably won't make you sick either.

00:34:26 --> 00:34:28

If you have any fitra inside of you,

00:34:28 --> 00:34:30

you'd be like, that's disgusting. I'm not gonna

00:34:30 --> 00:34:30

drink it.

00:34:31 --> 00:34:33

If you think you're too good to drink

00:34:33 --> 00:34:35

it, then how are you going to put

00:34:35 --> 00:34:37

impure things in front of Allah Ta'ala and

00:34:37 --> 00:34:39

expect him to accept it?

00:34:40 --> 00:34:42

And if you have the idea, no maybe

00:34:42 --> 00:34:44

he will accept it, guess what? Rasool Allah

00:34:44 --> 00:34:46

SWAMI says he is not gonna accept it.

00:34:47 --> 00:34:48

Read them and weep.

00:34:49 --> 00:34:50

He said

00:34:54 --> 00:34:56

Allah is pure and he doesn't accept anything

00:34:56 --> 00:34:58

other than that which is pure. That's why,

00:34:58 --> 00:35:00

by the way, we someone's like, oh my

00:35:00 --> 00:35:02

goodness. If you really think about it, then

00:35:02 --> 00:35:03

you're like, wow. We're up the creek without

00:35:03 --> 00:35:04

a paddle because,

00:35:04 --> 00:35:07

there's nothing we do a 100% right. That's

00:35:07 --> 00:35:10

why there's sunnah, you know, Nawafil before the

00:35:10 --> 00:35:12

salat and after the salat. That's why you

00:35:12 --> 00:35:13

pay the zakatul fitter,

00:35:14 --> 00:35:15

before the Eid for your fast Ramadan.

00:35:16 --> 00:35:18

That's why people are you know, give and

00:35:19 --> 00:35:19

sacrifices

00:35:20 --> 00:35:22

further to rectify their Hajj. That's why people

00:35:22 --> 00:35:23

give

00:35:23 --> 00:35:25

on top of their zakat. Why? Because out

00:35:25 --> 00:35:28

of his mercy, Allah gave us ways of

00:35:28 --> 00:35:30

trying to recoup the losses we had from

00:35:30 --> 00:35:33

other things. But the rule is what? Allah

00:35:33 --> 00:35:35

ta'ala is pure, and he doesn't accept anything

00:35:35 --> 00:35:38

other than that which is pure. And he

00:35:38 --> 00:35:40

commanded the believers with the exact same command

00:35:40 --> 00:35:43

that he gave his messengers, alayhimus salam.

00:35:43 --> 00:35:44

Rasulullah

00:35:44 --> 00:35:46

salallahu alayhi wasalam said, because Allah Ta'ala said,

00:35:47 --> 00:35:48

O messengers,

00:35:49 --> 00:35:52

eat that which is pure and work righteousness.

00:35:52 --> 00:35:54

Indeed, I have full knowledge of that which

00:35:54 --> 00:35:57

you do. And Allah Ta'ala also said, 'O

00:35:57 --> 00:35:58

you who

00:35:58 --> 00:36:00

believe, eat from the pure things that we

00:36:00 --> 00:36:01

have given to you in provision.'

00:36:01 --> 00:36:04

Then Rasulullah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam mentioned a

00:36:04 --> 00:36:06

man who was long in sojourned. He was

00:36:06 --> 00:36:07

in a long trip.

00:36:08 --> 00:36:09

Asha'athah arbara,

00:36:10 --> 00:36:13

dusty sorry, disheveled and dusty. And he spreads

00:36:13 --> 00:36:14

his hands in front of the heavens and

00:36:14 --> 00:36:16

he says, oh my lord, oh my lord.

00:36:16 --> 00:36:18

He's making du'a for all sorts of different

00:36:18 --> 00:36:20

things. And the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi

00:36:20 --> 00:36:22

wa sallam said that his food is haram

00:36:22 --> 00:36:24

and his drink is haram

00:36:25 --> 00:36:27

and his clothes are haram

00:36:27 --> 00:36:29

and his entire growth,

00:36:30 --> 00:36:32

his whole body was nurtured the whole time

00:36:32 --> 00:36:32

on haram.

00:36:34 --> 00:36:35

For Anna used to Jabu Alaykha,

00:36:36 --> 00:36:37

Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam asked what

00:36:37 --> 00:36:39

they call rhetorical question. It's not he is

00:36:39 --> 00:36:41

not asking the answer. The answer is known.

00:36:41 --> 00:36:42

The question is asked

00:36:43 --> 00:36:44

implying that the answer is obvious.

00:36:45 --> 00:36:47

How is that person's prayer going to be

00:36:47 --> 00:36:47

answered?

00:36:49 --> 00:36:52

So, this is not a side issue. This

00:36:52 --> 00:36:53

is not an issue that, like certain pig

00:36:53 --> 00:36:55

headed and obstinate

00:36:55 --> 00:36:56

old world,

00:36:58 --> 00:36:59

Molkies and

00:37:00 --> 00:37:01

illiterate village preachers

00:37:02 --> 00:37:03

bring with them to the new world in

00:37:03 --> 00:37:04

order to impede

00:37:05 --> 00:37:08

the modern and, wonderful progress in revolutionary

00:37:09 --> 00:37:09

Islam of,

00:37:10 --> 00:37:13

of of of the wonderful snowflaky,

00:37:13 --> 00:37:14

Muslims of America.

00:37:15 --> 00:37:17

Rather, this is a real issue because if

00:37:17 --> 00:37:18

you don't if you mess this thing up

00:37:18 --> 00:37:19

from the

00:37:20 --> 00:37:22

beginning, all the other next 100 steps that

00:37:22 --> 00:37:23

you do with your din are all gonna

00:37:23 --> 00:37:25

be necessarily messed up.

00:37:25 --> 00:37:27

And in fact, the, there's a

00:37:29 --> 00:37:30

He's not the Tasir Kurtubi Kurtubi.

00:37:32 --> 00:37:33

But he's another he's another,

00:37:35 --> 00:37:37

Muhadef who confusingly is also Mufassir.

00:37:38 --> 00:37:39

And the Mufassir

00:37:40 --> 00:37:42

is confusingly also Muhaddith. This is a different

00:37:42 --> 00:37:43

court to be. His name is Ahmed as

00:37:43 --> 00:37:45

well, and they're from, like, the same century.

00:37:45 --> 00:37:47

But he wrote, al Mufim, which is one

00:37:47 --> 00:37:48

of the canonical

00:37:48 --> 00:37:50

commentaries on Sahih Muslim.

00:37:51 --> 00:37:52

You'll see that. Where's

00:37:52 --> 00:37:54

Yaqan Ams Jawad?

00:37:55 --> 00:37:58

The the foundational shuruhat of of Sahih Muslim

00:37:58 --> 00:38:00

are almost all

00:38:00 --> 00:38:02

almost all written by Malakis.

00:38:02 --> 00:38:04

In fact, even Na'vi's Na'vi's

00:38:06 --> 00:38:08

commentary is like an abridgment and gathering of

00:38:08 --> 00:38:09

different commentaries.

00:38:10 --> 00:38:11

Mostly, the business end of it is

00:38:12 --> 00:38:13

is,

00:38:13 --> 00:38:16

what you call it's it's by it's the

00:38:17 --> 00:38:17

he's quoting,

00:38:18 --> 00:38:19

from the,

00:38:20 --> 00:38:21

from the,

00:38:23 --> 00:38:24

which is which is

00:38:25 --> 00:38:26

an expansion on the

00:38:27 --> 00:38:30

the the commentary of the Mu'lim of Imam

00:38:30 --> 00:38:32

Masri, who we mentioned last week is actually

00:38:32 --> 00:38:33

Sicilian.

00:38:34 --> 00:38:36

He's actually a Sicilian. So Sicilian

00:38:37 --> 00:38:38

Sicilians wrote the first

00:38:39 --> 00:38:42

commentary on Sahih Muslim. Go home and celebrate

00:38:42 --> 00:38:43

your Italian heritage everybody.

00:38:45 --> 00:38:46

Yes.

00:38:47 --> 00:38:49

So, writes in his that

00:38:50 --> 00:38:52

the hadith from the siyak of the hadith,

00:38:52 --> 00:38:54

the person who is being described is not

00:38:54 --> 00:38:56

a regular person. Rather he's a person who

00:38:56 --> 00:38:58

has gone out in some journey of obedience

00:38:58 --> 00:39:01

to Allah Ta'ala like jihad, fisabililah or Hajj.

00:39:01 --> 00:39:05

Why? Because the amount of difficulty that's that's

00:39:05 --> 00:39:07

described, a person wouldn't undertake for some sort

00:39:07 --> 00:39:09

of, like, elective purpose.

00:39:10 --> 00:39:13

Shaath and and and Khubar,

00:39:13 --> 00:39:15

disheveledness and dust.

00:39:15 --> 00:39:17

These are the the the

00:39:18 --> 00:39:21

the descriptions of the the the muhren, the

00:39:21 --> 00:39:23

person who is in Iran. Right? The

00:39:23 --> 00:39:24

the.

00:39:26 --> 00:39:28

Right? The the person who's in in that

00:39:28 --> 00:39:30

that that is in in a in a

00:39:30 --> 00:39:31

disheveled state and,

00:39:32 --> 00:39:34

makes a lot of noise with the with

00:39:34 --> 00:39:34

his.

00:39:37 --> 00:39:39

So imagine someone goes out

00:39:40 --> 00:39:41

someone goes out and hides it's a pretty

00:39:41 --> 00:39:42

pious dude.

00:39:44 --> 00:39:46

You know, a woman is pretty pious sister

00:39:46 --> 00:39:48

if you're going out, you know, like,

00:39:49 --> 00:39:50

for Hajj, which is described by Rasool Allah

00:39:50 --> 00:39:52

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam as the jihad of

00:39:52 --> 00:39:53

of the women of

00:39:55 --> 00:39:57

this Ummah. So that person, that pious person

00:39:57 --> 00:39:59

who seemingly has all these other things together

00:39:59 --> 00:40:01

with regards to their deen,

00:40:01 --> 00:40:02

they're the ones who

00:40:03 --> 00:40:05

in this state of, like,

00:40:05 --> 00:40:05

of

00:40:06 --> 00:40:08

and utter humility in front of the lord

00:40:08 --> 00:40:10

and ostensibly in his obedience,

00:40:11 --> 00:40:12

they raise their they spread their hands in

00:40:12 --> 00:40:14

front of the heavens and they say, oh,

00:40:14 --> 00:40:16

my Lord, oh, my Lord, give me this,

00:40:16 --> 00:40:18

give me that. And Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa

00:40:18 --> 00:40:20

sallam says answering their dua, not a chance.

00:40:21 --> 00:40:22

Not a chance.

00:40:23 --> 00:40:24

Food haram,

00:40:24 --> 00:40:25

drink haram,

00:40:27 --> 00:40:28

clothing haram,

00:40:29 --> 00:40:30

they're nurtured, they're brought up, all the money

00:40:30 --> 00:40:32

that was spent on them, all, you know,

00:40:32 --> 00:40:34

there is tainted with haram.

00:40:34 --> 00:40:36

It doesn't mean it's all haram that no

00:40:36 --> 00:40:37

like hamza for the last 30 years, I've

00:40:37 --> 00:40:40

only eaten and drunk on like the proceeds

00:40:40 --> 00:40:42

of like robbing liquor stores. No. What is

00:40:42 --> 00:40:44

haram? You mix a little bit of filth

00:40:44 --> 00:40:46

with something pure, the whole thing becomes filth.

00:40:46 --> 00:40:47

Why?

00:40:50 --> 00:40:51

This is a big deal.

00:40:53 --> 00:40:55

Whether or not your beard is the beardiest

00:40:55 --> 00:40:56

or your hijab is the hijabiest

00:40:57 --> 00:41:00

or you're you have a fancy turban like,

00:41:00 --> 00:41:03

you know, masha'Allah, say masha'Allah myself in Mufti

00:41:03 --> 00:41:05

Muntasirah, hamdulillah, masha'Allah. You know,

00:41:06 --> 00:41:08

Jawad is in distant second place.

00:41:09 --> 00:41:11

You know, whether or not you have those

00:41:11 --> 00:41:13

things, if you can't get this thing together,

00:41:14 --> 00:41:15

you have problems.

00:41:16 --> 00:41:17

If you get this thing together

00:41:17 --> 00:41:19

and you're wearing, you know, jeans and a

00:41:19 --> 00:41:20

t shirt, you're more of a you're more

00:41:20 --> 00:41:22

of a a saliq on the path to

00:41:22 --> 00:41:23

Allah

00:41:23 --> 00:41:25

than many people who look real

00:41:26 --> 00:41:28

fancy. And admittedly, it's not easy. It's very

00:41:28 --> 00:41:28

difficult.

00:41:29 --> 00:41:32

And we constantly give salakat and ask Allah

00:41:32 --> 00:41:34

Ta'ala for his forgiveness. But if if you're

00:41:34 --> 00:41:35

like, oh, why are you making such a

00:41:35 --> 00:41:36

big deal about

00:41:36 --> 00:41:37

it? This is why we're making a big

00:41:37 --> 00:41:39

deal about it because Rasool

00:41:39 --> 00:41:40

Allah made a really big deal out of

00:41:40 --> 00:41:43

it. And so to other people, it may

00:41:43 --> 00:41:44

be some sort of fanatical nitpicking,

00:41:45 --> 00:41:46

but to us, it's our deen.

00:41:50 --> 00:41:51

So the next,

00:41:51 --> 00:41:53

the next chapter, taking court control of the

00:41:53 --> 00:41:56

sexual desires, which is the second one, we

00:41:56 --> 00:41:57

mentioned that that's paired

00:41:58 --> 00:41:58

together,

00:41:58 --> 00:42:00

with the the stomach.

00:42:24 --> 00:42:26

Sorry. This is a this is a typo.

00:42:26 --> 00:42:29

The the it should be a under the

00:42:55 --> 00:42:56

Muftasaraton.

00:42:59 --> 00:43:01

So just to backtrack slightly about the

00:43:08 --> 00:43:11

k. Anyhow, then let's not backtrack.

00:43:11 --> 00:43:14

Abu Hurair radiAllahu ta'alaan who narrates the messenger

00:43:14 --> 00:43:15

of Allah the prophet

00:43:16 --> 00:43:18

said, this is a hadith we we made

00:43:18 --> 00:43:19

reference to earlier in the day

00:43:20 --> 00:43:20

that

00:43:21 --> 00:43:22

a person

00:43:23 --> 00:43:24

it's written by Allah

00:43:24 --> 00:43:26

that they will have some sort of portion

00:43:26 --> 00:43:28

from Zina, and they're not going to be

00:43:28 --> 00:43:29

able to escape it.

00:43:30 --> 00:43:33

Even a person who doesn't who doesn't actually

00:43:33 --> 00:43:36

have illicit * with another person,

00:43:37 --> 00:43:39

that person still is not going to be

00:43:39 --> 00:43:40

free from

00:43:40 --> 00:43:43

being touched by somehow or another.

00:43:43 --> 00:43:44

Rather, that

00:43:44 --> 00:43:47

is the most complete and ugly form of,

00:43:47 --> 00:43:49

and there are lighter forms that that nobody

00:43:49 --> 00:43:51

will be able to escape from.

00:43:51 --> 00:43:53

At least some part of it, people will

00:43:53 --> 00:43:55

be affected by it, some less than others,

00:43:55 --> 00:43:56

some more than others.

00:43:58 --> 00:43:59

And he says

00:43:59 --> 00:44:02

that the two eyes, their is to look,

00:44:02 --> 00:44:04

and the two ears, their is to look

00:44:04 --> 00:44:05

to hear,

00:44:06 --> 00:44:08

that which they're not supposed to listen to.

00:44:08 --> 00:44:11

And the the tongue, it's is speaking those

00:44:11 --> 00:44:13

things saying those illicit things that you don't

00:44:13 --> 00:44:14

have a right to say to somebody that

00:44:14 --> 00:44:16

you're not married to.

00:44:16 --> 00:44:18

And that includes, by the way, not just

00:44:18 --> 00:44:20

the tongue, but it includes also the speech

00:44:20 --> 00:44:23

that comes from your communications through WhatsApp and

00:44:23 --> 00:44:24

Messenger and emails

00:44:24 --> 00:44:26

and Facebooking and what it.

00:44:30 --> 00:44:32

And the hand is to touch. So the

00:44:32 --> 00:44:34

grasp or touch, the thing that is illicit

00:44:34 --> 00:44:36

for it to grasp and touch. And the

00:44:36 --> 00:44:38

the the the the feet, their is to

00:44:38 --> 00:44:39

walk to the place that they weren't supposed

00:44:39 --> 00:44:40

to walk to.

00:44:41 --> 00:44:42

And the heart,

00:44:43 --> 00:44:46

the heart goes through its. It's it's being

00:44:46 --> 00:44:48

taken with with with with love

00:44:49 --> 00:44:50

and it's it's desires.

00:44:51 --> 00:44:52

And then at the end of all of

00:44:52 --> 00:44:54

that at the end of all of that,

00:44:55 --> 00:44:57

a a person has the

00:44:58 --> 00:44:59

option of either

00:44:59 --> 00:45:02

making those those desires come through through their

00:45:03 --> 00:45:05

private parts or to

00:45:05 --> 00:45:07

refuting them and saying, no. This is wrong.

00:45:07 --> 00:45:08

I'm not going to accept this path.

00:45:09 --> 00:45:10

Allah protect all of us.

00:45:11 --> 00:45:12

But

00:45:12 --> 00:45:14

this is a really important I mean, this

00:45:14 --> 00:45:15

is a really important,

00:45:15 --> 00:45:16

idea.

00:45:16 --> 00:45:17

And people

00:45:18 --> 00:45:21

people don't take it seriously because it's not

00:45:21 --> 00:45:21

the

00:45:22 --> 00:45:23

it's not

00:45:24 --> 00:45:26

it's not the the and the custom of

00:45:26 --> 00:45:27

our home

00:45:28 --> 00:45:29

to not take their to to take these

00:45:29 --> 00:45:31

things seriously like that.

00:45:32 --> 00:45:34

And someone will say, if you look down,

00:45:34 --> 00:45:36

they'll say, oh, you're being awkward or if

00:45:36 --> 00:45:38

you, you know, are controlled and measured. I

00:45:38 --> 00:45:39

mean, for example, our vice president I mean,

00:45:39 --> 00:45:40

I think the guy is a complete nutcase.

00:45:40 --> 00:45:42

I really think he's, like, morally bankrupt, Munafet,

00:45:47 --> 00:45:48

hypocrite, has several screws loose. I have a

00:45:48 --> 00:45:50

very low opinion of the man. This is

00:45:50 --> 00:45:53

not my opinion as, like, representing IANT or

00:45:53 --> 00:45:55

Latif Foundation. This is my own personal Hamzied

00:45:55 --> 00:45:57

opinion. You're free to disagree with me if

00:45:57 --> 00:45:59

you want to. The one thing the guy

00:45:59 --> 00:46:01

does right everybody gets up on him about.

00:46:01 --> 00:46:03

He says that I don't I don't I

00:46:03 --> 00:46:04

don't dine with,

00:46:05 --> 00:46:07

women who are women other than my wife

00:46:07 --> 00:46:09

or my my my daughters, my relatives.

00:46:10 --> 00:46:11

They get, oh, look. This guy's crazy. This,

00:46:11 --> 00:46:13

this, that. No. He crazy for a lot

00:46:13 --> 00:46:15

of other reasons, but not for this. This

00:46:15 --> 00:46:17

is actually something upright that he does. Because

00:46:17 --> 00:46:19

our culture doesn't accept that.

00:46:19 --> 00:46:21

But and it's fine. You know? The urf

00:46:21 --> 00:46:23

of a place, it has a place in

00:46:23 --> 00:46:24

the sharia as long as it doesn't

00:46:25 --> 00:46:26

go against one of the established,

00:46:27 --> 00:46:29

one of the established bases of the deen.

00:46:29 --> 00:46:30

In this case,

00:46:31 --> 00:46:34

in this case, a person should remember what

00:46:34 --> 00:46:36

is the commandment of Allah Ta'ala. The commandment

00:46:36 --> 00:46:37

of Allah Ta'ala is not.

00:46:39 --> 00:46:41

The commandment of Allah Ta'ala is not don't

00:46:41 --> 00:46:41

commit zina.

00:46:42 --> 00:46:44

The commandment of Allah Ta'ala is.

00:46:45 --> 00:46:47

Don't come close to zina. And in this

00:46:47 --> 00:46:49

hadith, zina has been described in all of

00:46:49 --> 00:46:52

these different ways. And of course, the severity

00:46:52 --> 00:46:54

of the sin and the punishment from Allah

00:46:54 --> 00:46:56

Ta'ala for actually committing

00:46:56 --> 00:46:59

illicit * versus looking at someone or something

00:46:59 --> 00:47:00

you're not supposed to look at

00:47:01 --> 00:47:01

is different.

00:47:03 --> 00:47:06

The the the the actual zina, like, of

00:47:06 --> 00:47:07

the legal definition

00:47:08 --> 00:47:10

is worse than

00:47:10 --> 00:47:12

and more intense in its amount of sin

00:47:12 --> 00:47:13

and disobedience

00:47:14 --> 00:47:14

than the,

00:47:15 --> 00:47:17

than, like, looking or listening or whatever, you

00:47:17 --> 00:47:19

know, flirting with somebody and that you're not

00:47:19 --> 00:47:21

supposed to be flirting with. Go flirt with

00:47:21 --> 00:47:23

your wife. Nobody ever does that except for,

00:47:24 --> 00:47:25

except well, okay. I shouldn't say that because

00:47:25 --> 00:47:27

people do do that and that's why they

00:47:27 --> 00:47:28

stay happy and they stay safe from these

00:47:28 --> 00:47:30

things. But a lot of people that

00:47:31 --> 00:47:33

the the disposition of a person is that

00:47:33 --> 00:47:34

every new thing is

00:47:34 --> 00:47:36

tasty for them. Right? So if, you know,

00:47:36 --> 00:47:38

something they're bored of it or whatever, it

00:47:38 --> 00:47:40

doesn't occur to them that that's something that

00:47:40 --> 00:47:41

that they should be doing,

00:47:43 --> 00:47:45

versus something else that they shouldn't be. But

00:47:45 --> 00:47:46

the point is is this is that if

00:47:46 --> 00:47:47

the commandment of

00:47:47 --> 00:47:49

Allah is don't go anywhere near zina, and

00:47:49 --> 00:47:52

these things are literally called zina in the

00:47:52 --> 00:47:54

hadith of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. This

00:47:54 --> 00:47:55

hadith is

00:47:56 --> 00:47:57

Bukhari and Muslim are narrating it, so you

00:47:57 --> 00:47:58

don't even need to get into whether it's

00:47:58 --> 00:48:00

Sahih or not. It's one of the first

00:48:00 --> 00:48:03

narrations of this specific wording is one of

00:48:03 --> 00:48:05

the first narrations of,

00:48:05 --> 00:48:08

of of Sahih Muslim. And he Muslim actually

00:48:08 --> 00:48:11

uses it to as a proof that

00:48:12 --> 00:48:13

Allah, his other, like,

00:48:14 --> 00:48:16

proof that Allah predestined certain things for people.

00:48:16 --> 00:48:18

Because it said it's written for you that

00:48:18 --> 00:48:19

you'll be exposed to a number of these

00:48:19 --> 00:48:21

things, and you won't be able to escape

00:48:21 --> 00:48:21

from them.

00:48:22 --> 00:48:25

So if the commandment is don't come anywhere

00:48:25 --> 00:48:25

near Zina,

00:48:26 --> 00:48:28

then it's better to protect yourself

00:48:28 --> 00:48:31

and have a bunch of modernist losers laugh

00:48:31 --> 00:48:31

at you

00:48:32 --> 00:48:34

for being like a pence like prude,

00:48:35 --> 00:48:36

than

00:48:36 --> 00:48:39

to taint your your your soul with something,

00:48:39 --> 00:48:41

it's a sin and it leads to something

00:48:41 --> 00:48:42

so bad. It comes in the hadith of

00:48:42 --> 00:48:44

the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, that a

00:48:44 --> 00:48:47

person who's actually committing the act of fornication,

00:48:48 --> 00:48:49

that that person isn't a believer while they're

00:48:49 --> 00:48:52

committing the act of fornication. Rather the iman,

00:48:52 --> 00:48:54

their iman leaves their body and hovers over

00:48:54 --> 00:48:56

them between them and the the punishment of

00:48:56 --> 00:48:59

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. If it wasn't there,

00:48:59 --> 00:49:00

Allah would have struck that person dead in

00:49:00 --> 00:49:01

that moment,

00:49:02 --> 00:49:04

because of the severity of of that sin.

00:49:04 --> 00:49:06

So that's option b.

00:49:07 --> 00:49:09

You can choose whatever you want to. This

00:49:09 --> 00:49:10

is this is what, you know,

00:49:11 --> 00:49:13

this is a person who can keep his

00:49:13 --> 00:49:15

gaze down. He's more Sufi than a person

00:49:15 --> 00:49:16

who floats in the air and

00:49:17 --> 00:49:18

does singing and dancing and all this other

00:49:18 --> 00:49:20

fun stuff that

00:49:20 --> 00:49:22

Deepak Chopra will tell you all about in

00:49:22 --> 00:49:24

his new book about Rumi, which was written

00:49:24 --> 00:49:25

in a language that

00:49:25 --> 00:49:27

Rumi never spoke, etcetera.

00:49:42 --> 00:49:43

Very similar,

00:49:44 --> 00:49:46

although slightly different in wording to one that

00:49:46 --> 00:49:47

passed from before.

00:49:47 --> 00:49:48

That the Messenger of Allah

00:49:50 --> 00:49:53

said, whoever Allah protected from the evil of

00:49:53 --> 00:49:55

what is between his two jawbones and the

00:49:55 --> 00:49:57

evil of that which is between his legs,

00:49:57 --> 00:49:58

that person shall enter paradise.

00:50:01 --> 00:50:02

So we continue.

00:50:05 --> 00:50:07

Allah ta'ala said

00:50:07 --> 00:50:09

and so this is the

00:50:09 --> 00:50:09

Islam submission

00:50:10 --> 00:50:12

the levels of submission to the divine.

00:50:13 --> 00:50:15

This has to do with what the idea

00:50:15 --> 00:50:16

that

00:50:16 --> 00:50:18

we talked about yesterday. I don't know if

00:50:18 --> 00:50:19

any of you went to either the Juman,

00:50:19 --> 00:50:20

but,

00:50:20 --> 00:50:22

Juman, Juman, Khutba or the talk in the

00:50:22 --> 00:50:23

evening yesterday.

00:50:23 --> 00:50:24

But the idea that

00:50:25 --> 00:50:27

one of the characteristics of Wahi revelation is

00:50:27 --> 00:50:29

that how smart you are or how not

00:50:29 --> 00:50:31

smart you are have nothing to do with

00:50:32 --> 00:50:34

do with it. It's something everybody's equally has

00:50:34 --> 00:50:36

to humble themselves in front of and accept.

00:50:36 --> 00:50:38

And this is your humility

00:50:38 --> 00:50:40

of yourself for the sake of Allah

00:50:40 --> 00:50:42

will cause you to progress spiritually,

00:50:43 --> 00:50:45

quickly and your inability to do so will

00:50:45 --> 00:50:47

be an impediment. So just talking about that

00:50:47 --> 00:50:49

that idea of of submission.

00:50:49 --> 00:50:50

That in submission,

00:50:51 --> 00:50:52

the

00:50:53 --> 00:50:54

the life spiritual,

00:50:55 --> 00:50:55

progress,

00:50:56 --> 00:50:58

and the path of submission is superior superior

00:50:58 --> 00:51:00

to all other paths when it comes to

00:51:00 --> 00:51:01

revelation.

00:51:01 --> 00:51:03

When it comes to other things, then don't

00:51:03 --> 00:51:03

submit.

00:51:05 --> 00:51:07

Be my guest, argue, and do whatever you

00:51:07 --> 00:51:09

think is best. When it comes to matters

00:51:09 --> 00:51:09

of revelation,

00:51:10 --> 00:51:12

then there's only one path which is to

00:51:12 --> 00:51:14

submit. If you're able to have your own,

00:51:14 --> 00:51:15

you would have done it a long time

00:51:15 --> 00:51:17

ago, but you're not. So

00:51:17 --> 00:51:19

all of us have to come with humility

00:51:19 --> 00:51:20

to the same court.

00:52:12 --> 00:52:13

So,

00:52:13 --> 00:52:14

Allah

00:52:15 --> 00:52:17

in his book, all you who believe, enter

00:52:17 --> 00:52:20

into submission to Allah ta'ala completely and do

00:52:20 --> 00:52:23

not follow the footfalls of shaitan. Indeed, he

00:52:23 --> 00:52:24

is an open enemy for you.

00:52:25 --> 00:52:26

And Allah ta'ala,

00:52:26 --> 00:52:28

Allah most high said,

00:52:28 --> 00:52:30

no, I swear by your lord,

00:52:30 --> 00:52:33

they will not believe until they make you

00:52:33 --> 00:52:34

the arbiter and the judge in,

00:52:35 --> 00:52:37

the disputes that they have between one another.

00:52:37 --> 00:52:39

Meaning who? The messenger of Allah salallahu alaihi

00:52:39 --> 00:52:40

wa sallam.

00:52:40 --> 00:52:42

And Allah ta'ala said,

00:52:42 --> 00:52:45

don't fear the people, but fear me, and

00:52:45 --> 00:52:47

don't sell my my eye out for a

00:52:47 --> 00:52:49

cheap price. And whoever doesn't,

00:52:50 --> 00:52:53

rule by that which Allah revealed,

00:52:54 --> 00:52:56

those people are the disbelievers. Those people are

00:52:56 --> 00:52:58

the ingrates. They're the ones who are ungrateful

00:52:58 --> 00:52:59

to Allah.

00:53:00 --> 00:53:02

And I wanna remind everybody

00:53:03 --> 00:53:06

that following the Wahi is not an option.

00:53:06 --> 00:53:08

We live in a weird, like, screwball time

00:53:09 --> 00:53:11

where we have people, you know, we have

00:53:11 --> 00:53:11

people who

00:53:12 --> 00:53:14

are, like, they're respected people. They're invited to

00:53:14 --> 00:53:16

conferences and things like that. It's not even

00:53:16 --> 00:53:18

backbiting because they say these things openly. Right?

00:53:19 --> 00:53:21

So there's a very famous a very famous

00:53:21 --> 00:53:23

person who's becoming famous for all sorts of

00:53:23 --> 00:53:23

other reasons

00:53:25 --> 00:53:27

that we're not gonna bring up right now.

00:53:28 --> 00:53:28

But,

00:53:30 --> 00:53:33

this idea of, like, for example, tarik Ramadan,

00:53:34 --> 00:53:36

he says publicly that women should inherit the

00:53:36 --> 00:53:38

same sure that a man inherits,

00:53:39 --> 00:53:41

because whatever x y z reason he has.

00:53:41 --> 00:53:43

Even though the Quran is very clear in

00:53:44 --> 00:53:44

in the,

00:53:45 --> 00:53:46

the way that inheritances

00:53:47 --> 00:53:49

are separate are divided to the point where

00:53:49 --> 00:53:51

this is one of those issues that there's

00:53:51 --> 00:53:52

the least amount of difference of opinion

00:53:53 --> 00:53:54

amongst the different schools of thought because it's

00:53:54 --> 00:53:55

so explicitly

00:53:56 --> 00:53:57

spelled out in the Quran how these things

00:53:57 --> 00:54:00

are supposed to go. And the funny thing

00:54:00 --> 00:54:02

is there are certain there are certain instances

00:54:02 --> 00:54:03

in which a woman will

00:54:03 --> 00:54:05

receive more than a man.

00:54:07 --> 00:54:09

If a person if a person dies and

00:54:09 --> 00:54:10

he leaves,

00:54:12 --> 00:54:14

siblings to their father through their father and

00:54:14 --> 00:54:16

siblings to their mother,

00:54:16 --> 00:54:18

The siblings to their mother may inherit. The

00:54:18 --> 00:54:20

siblings to the father won't inherit. So the

00:54:20 --> 00:54:22

sisters to the mother will inherit and the

00:54:22 --> 00:54:24

the brother through the father won't. If someone

00:54:24 --> 00:54:25

has, like, for example, shares a father with

00:54:25 --> 00:54:27

1 brother and shares a sister with a

00:54:27 --> 00:54:29

mother, the sister may inherit and the brother

00:54:29 --> 00:54:31

may not inherit at all in that case.

00:54:31 --> 00:54:32

Not half. Nothing.

00:54:33 --> 00:54:33

Right?

00:54:34 --> 00:54:36

Nobody ever brought up like, oh, yeah. Even

00:54:36 --> 00:54:38

in those cases, we should redistribute.

00:54:38 --> 00:54:41

This is all completely like just like, oh,

00:54:41 --> 00:54:41

look.

00:54:42 --> 00:54:45

Some kuffar and farangi said that Islam is

00:54:45 --> 00:54:45

misogynistic.

00:54:46 --> 00:54:48

And so we're gonna like, no no we

00:54:48 --> 00:54:49

gotta reevaluate

00:54:49 --> 00:54:51

all of this stuff now. And what the

00:54:51 --> 00:54:52

Quran really meant? What are you gonna say

00:54:52 --> 00:54:54

what Allah Ta'ala really meant? How are you

00:54:54 --> 00:54:56

supposed to know? Did you, ahu billah, understand

00:54:56 --> 00:54:58

what Allah Ta'ala understands?

00:54:59 --> 00:55:01

And the idea is that there is even,

00:55:01 --> 00:55:03

even, you know, it is sufficient that Allah

00:55:03 --> 00:55:06

Ta'ala said it that we accept it.

00:55:06 --> 00:55:07

But in the sharia there is a very

00:55:08 --> 00:55:09

common sense answer as well, which is that

00:55:09 --> 00:55:11

women are not financially responsible for anyone other

00:55:11 --> 00:55:13

than themselves. Whereas men are responsible for their

00:55:13 --> 00:55:15

female relatives financially.

00:55:15 --> 00:55:16

The judge can

00:55:17 --> 00:55:19

force a man to have to support his

00:55:19 --> 00:55:21

his daughters and his mother and his sisters,

00:55:21 --> 00:55:23

whereas the, a woman doesn't have to support

00:55:23 --> 00:55:25

anybody. Not even her own children. She's not

00:55:25 --> 00:55:28

financially obliged to support them. Minor or major.

00:55:28 --> 00:55:30

If she does, it's considered a sadaqa. Right?

00:55:31 --> 00:55:31

So

00:55:32 --> 00:55:33

this person

00:55:33 --> 00:55:36

gets invited to conferences every year and a

00:55:36 --> 00:55:38

big platform and retweeted and all of these

00:55:38 --> 00:55:41

other things for essentially making Radhav Hukam of

00:55:41 --> 00:55:42

the book of Allah

00:55:43 --> 00:55:44

He's not the only one. I can name,

00:55:44 --> 00:55:46

like, a number of people. Some of them,

00:55:46 --> 00:55:48

I won't name them because they're, like,

00:55:48 --> 00:55:49

intellectually,

00:55:49 --> 00:55:52

they're they're taken seriously. But, hamdulillah, the general

00:55:52 --> 00:55:53

public doesn't know who they are. So I

00:55:53 --> 00:55:55

don't wanna name their names just so I

00:55:55 --> 00:55:56

don't wanna make you aware of somebody you

00:55:56 --> 00:55:58

haven't heard of from before. But they say

00:55:58 --> 00:56:01

these ridiculous and and, like, silly things. Right?

00:56:01 --> 00:56:02

What

00:56:02 --> 00:56:02

does

00:56:03 --> 00:56:06

the meaning of Islam? Islam doesn't mean peace.

00:56:06 --> 00:56:07

I don't care how many uncles get up

00:56:07 --> 00:56:09

on TV and says that Islam means beast.

00:56:09 --> 00:56:12

It doesn't mean beast. Islam means what? Submission.

00:56:15 --> 00:56:17

Salam means peace. Islam means what?

00:56:18 --> 00:56:19

It means submission.

00:56:20 --> 00:56:21

So, Allah

00:56:21 --> 00:56:24

says what? They haven't believed. Allah swears an

00:56:24 --> 00:56:26

oath by Himself. He says, by your Lord.

00:56:26 --> 00:56:27

That person hasn't believed

00:56:28 --> 00:56:30

until he makes you, Yaniyah, the Prophet

00:56:30 --> 00:56:32

an arbiter in their affairs.

00:56:33 --> 00:56:34

This is Kufr.

00:56:35 --> 00:56:36

It doesn't matter how intelligency

00:56:37 --> 00:56:40

the intelligentsia gets and how fancy schmancy they

00:56:40 --> 00:56:42

seem and how many conferences they get invited

00:56:42 --> 00:56:44

to. This is this is wrong. It's not

00:56:44 --> 00:56:46

just wrong as in haram. It's wrong as

00:56:46 --> 00:56:48

in Kufr. It's an explicit commandment of the

00:56:48 --> 00:56:50

book of Allah Ta'ala that people are

00:56:55 --> 00:56:57

It's a text to the that whoever

00:56:58 --> 00:57:00

attempts to refute or negate a a a

00:57:00 --> 00:57:02

a commandment of the of the book of

00:57:02 --> 00:57:04

Allah Allah that person has

00:57:05 --> 00:57:06

become one of the people of loss, one

00:57:06 --> 00:57:08

of the people of perdition, meaning one of

00:57:08 --> 00:57:09

the people of the hellfire.

00:57:10 --> 00:57:11

This is not permissible.

00:57:12 --> 00:57:15

If you want to accept it as wahi,

00:57:15 --> 00:57:15

you're a Muslim.

00:57:16 --> 00:57:18

If you don't want to accept it, and

00:57:18 --> 00:57:19

you want to say, you know,

00:57:20 --> 00:57:22

Allah Ta'i, you sit in a chair and

00:57:22 --> 00:57:23

I'll sit in a chair and let's have

00:57:23 --> 00:57:24

a talk.

00:57:24 --> 00:57:26

Then you have nothing from the deen.

00:57:27 --> 00:57:29

If you want to have a conversation back

00:57:29 --> 00:57:30

and forth and struggle

00:57:30 --> 00:57:32

with God and things like that, you will

00:57:32 --> 00:57:34

be happier as a rabbi. Trust me.

00:57:35 --> 00:57:37

These are the types of things rabbis say,

00:57:37 --> 00:57:38

which is fine. That's their religion. They'll have

00:57:38 --> 00:57:39

to deal with the between

00:57:40 --> 00:57:42

them and Allah ta'ala. In this world, we

00:57:42 --> 00:57:43

respect them as our neighbors and friends and

00:57:43 --> 00:57:45

things like that. But that's not

00:57:46 --> 00:57:47

Islam. It's not Islam at all.

00:57:48 --> 00:57:50

And so this is something the reason it's

00:57:50 --> 00:57:52

so silly. One would

00:57:52 --> 00:57:55

perhaps, generations have passed by that one wouldn't

00:57:55 --> 00:57:56

have to say things like this. But now

00:57:56 --> 00:57:58

we have to say things like this because

00:57:58 --> 00:58:00

this type of stuff is being touted as,

00:58:00 --> 00:58:01

quote unquote, normal. It's not normal.

00:58:02 --> 00:58:04

It's not right. It's not right at all.

00:58:04 --> 00:58:05

It's wrong. If you read the books of

00:58:05 --> 00:58:06

our tradition,

00:58:07 --> 00:58:08

why do you need to read the books

00:58:08 --> 00:58:09

of our tradition? Rasulullah

00:58:09 --> 00:58:11

salallahu alayhi wa sallam himself is saying it.

00:58:11 --> 00:58:13

In fact, Allah Ta'ala himself is saying it.

00:58:14 --> 00:58:14

So,

00:58:15 --> 00:58:17

but if you believe that perhaps this is

00:58:17 --> 00:58:19

some sort of erroneous or extreme interpretation

00:58:19 --> 00:58:22

from, some crazy guy from Chicago and, you

00:58:22 --> 00:58:24

know, whatever, Mubarak will apologize on

00:58:24 --> 00:58:26

behalf of Latif and never invite him again.

00:58:26 --> 00:58:28

Go look in the books of the ulama

00:58:28 --> 00:58:29

and see what they said about these people

00:58:29 --> 00:58:31

who say stuff like this.

00:58:31 --> 00:58:34

The unbroken tradition that survives to us to

00:58:34 --> 00:58:35

this to this point.

00:58:35 --> 00:58:38

And so Allah ta'ala says, don't fear the

00:58:38 --> 00:58:39

people

00:58:39 --> 00:58:40

and fear me.

00:58:42 --> 00:58:42

And don't

00:58:43 --> 00:58:45

sell my ayaat, the verses and the signs

00:58:45 --> 00:58:47

of my book for a cheap price. And

00:58:47 --> 00:58:49

whoever doesn't rule according to that revelation that

00:58:49 --> 00:58:52

Allah sent down, those people are the kafirun.

00:58:54 --> 00:58:55

And this is a hadith narrated by Abu

00:58:55 --> 00:58:57

Hurair radiAllahu anhu. It's a unique hadith in

00:58:57 --> 00:58:59

this entire collection. In fact, it's a unique

00:58:59 --> 00:59:00

hadith in the entire rial of the sai'en.

00:59:01 --> 00:59:03

Because it's the only hadith that's neither from

00:59:03 --> 00:59:04

the Sihasitha

00:59:05 --> 00:59:06

nor from the of Imam Hakim.

00:59:07 --> 00:59:08

However, the the Muhadithun

00:59:09 --> 00:59:11

including Hafiz bin Hajar and Nawawi, all of

00:59:11 --> 00:59:13

them said that the the the narrators of

00:59:13 --> 00:59:16

this hadith are all of the standard of

00:59:16 --> 00:59:18

the Sahihin, of Bukhari and Muslim.

00:59:18 --> 00:59:20

And it's a hadith that that the hadithin

00:59:20 --> 00:59:22

have accepted as being Sahih despite not being

00:59:22 --> 00:59:23

included in those collections.

00:59:24 --> 00:59:26

That the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa

00:59:26 --> 00:59:27

sallam said,

00:59:27 --> 00:59:29

one of you will not perfect your belief

00:59:30 --> 00:59:31

until their desire

00:59:32 --> 00:59:34

becomes conformant with that which I brought.

00:59:35 --> 00:59:37

And so this is something very interesting that

00:59:37 --> 00:59:40

people they see like pious people and they're

00:59:40 --> 00:59:41

like well that guy probably just prays because

00:59:41 --> 00:59:42

he likes praying.

00:59:43 --> 00:59:45

Nope. Like, very few people, almost nobody, like,

00:59:45 --> 00:59:47

just quote unquote likes praying and born that

00:59:47 --> 00:59:49

way. That guy just pikes because they like

00:59:49 --> 00:59:51

piety and whatever. That guy just wakes up

00:59:51 --> 00:59:53

for fajr because it's easy for them. It's

00:59:53 --> 00:59:55

not easy for anybody. However,

00:59:55 --> 00:59:56

if you've been waking up for fajr for

00:59:56 --> 00:59:59

the last 40 years And you forget to

00:59:59 --> 01:00:01

set your alarm. You're probably just out of

01:00:01 --> 01:00:02

habit. You're going to wake up anyway on

01:00:02 --> 01:00:03

time.

01:00:03 --> 01:00:05

It's not a habit you were born with.

01:00:05 --> 01:00:06

It's a habit you made.

01:00:08 --> 01:00:11

Rather than looking at people whose habits are

01:00:11 --> 01:00:13

in line with the Sharia and saying oh

01:00:13 --> 01:00:15

that person just is like that. Know that

01:00:15 --> 01:00:17

that's actually a superior level of imam.

01:00:18 --> 01:00:20

Because it means that person fashioned themselves with

01:00:20 --> 01:00:23

something was a crooked piece of ore.

01:00:23 --> 01:00:26

And then it was melted and refined and

01:00:26 --> 01:00:28

cleared from impurities. And then forged and hammered

01:00:29 --> 01:00:30

and fashioned into a sword.

01:00:31 --> 01:00:33

That sword is superior to the crooked piece

01:00:33 --> 01:00:35

of ore that it used to be. And

01:00:35 --> 01:00:37

the other crooked pieces of ore that are

01:00:37 --> 01:00:39

bricks and blocks and stones of ore that

01:00:39 --> 01:00:40

are still sitting there.

01:00:40 --> 01:00:42

So you're the perfection and the completion of

01:00:42 --> 01:00:44

your iman is in what? Is in having

01:00:44 --> 01:00:46

done the right things so many times, so

01:00:46 --> 01:00:48

many times, so many times that it no

01:00:48 --> 01:00:50

longer is a struggle for you or it's

01:00:50 --> 01:00:51

no longer as much of a struggle for

01:00:51 --> 01:00:53

you. Now you struggle on higher things

01:00:54 --> 01:00:56

because those early battles that you struggled with,

01:00:56 --> 01:00:58

you've completely worn yourself out in shape and

01:00:58 --> 01:01:01

yourself and fashioned yourself into somebody who submitted

01:01:01 --> 01:01:04

to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's will. That person

01:01:04 --> 01:01:05

will receive the reward of the struggle

01:01:06 --> 01:01:07

that they used to do

01:01:08 --> 01:01:09

when they do it even though they don't

01:01:09 --> 01:01:12

have to struggle anymore. Because they changed themselves.

01:01:12 --> 01:01:14

They gave themselves up for the sake of

01:01:14 --> 01:01:15

Allah. So Allah gave them a better self

01:01:15 --> 01:01:16

in return.

01:01:17 --> 01:01:19

And on top of that they'll receive more

01:01:19 --> 01:01:21

rewards for dealing with other things, other issues

01:01:21 --> 01:01:23

that that initial struggling to wake up for

01:01:23 --> 01:01:25

Fajr couldn't even imagine that a person would

01:01:25 --> 01:01:26

have to deal with. And this is a

01:01:26 --> 01:01:29

very, this is a very high and lofty,

01:01:30 --> 01:01:31

maqam in the deen.

01:01:34 --> 01:01:35

So we continue,

01:01:35 --> 01:01:37

with the lesson 7. I apologize if I

01:01:37 --> 01:01:39

feel like I'm or it feels like I'm

01:01:39 --> 01:01:39

rushing through,

01:01:41 --> 01:01:43

the text. It's just that I I I

01:01:43 --> 01:01:44

feel like we're so behind.

01:01:46 --> 01:01:48

When whatever I don't finish, he's gonna come

01:01:48 --> 01:01:50

back and teach the rest of them. Latif

01:01:50 --> 01:01:51

will do round 2.

01:01:51 --> 01:01:52

Yeah.

01:01:55 --> 01:01:56

M and m, baby.

01:01:57 --> 01:01:57

MMZ.

01:02:00 --> 01:02:01

So these are the

01:02:03 --> 01:02:04

so if we say that these

01:02:05 --> 01:02:07

so the the first the first

01:02:08 --> 01:02:09

chapter was what? Tawba.

01:02:10 --> 01:02:12

That's like like the negative

01:02:15 --> 01:02:15

one.

01:02:16 --> 01:02:16

Okay?

01:02:18 --> 01:02:20

Then we talked about takwa

01:02:22 --> 01:02:23

which is like

01:02:24 --> 01:02:26

level 0. That's where you start from.

01:02:27 --> 01:02:28

Then we talked about the inroads to the

01:02:28 --> 01:02:30

heart. K. Now you're trying to get something

01:02:30 --> 01:02:31

good going in the heart. Now let's block

01:02:31 --> 01:02:33

out all the bad stuff and put in

01:02:33 --> 01:02:34

more good stuff. Okay?

01:02:35 --> 01:02:37

Now we shifted to another phase of the

01:02:37 --> 01:02:39

the text which is talking about the Fada'il

01:02:39 --> 01:02:41

and the Rada'il of the heart. Which things

01:02:41 --> 01:02:42

are good for the heart? Which things are

01:02:42 --> 01:02:45

bad for the heart? So submission is to

01:02:45 --> 01:02:47

Allah to Allah is good for the heart.

01:02:47 --> 01:02:49

Submission to your girlfriend is going to lead

01:02:49 --> 01:02:51

in a bad place, but submission to Allah

01:02:51 --> 01:02:52

to Allah is what?

01:02:53 --> 01:02:54

It's good for the heart. Submission to submission

01:02:54 --> 01:02:56

to your boss and to the government and

01:02:56 --> 01:02:57

to all this other stuff,

01:02:57 --> 01:02:59

they're in and of themselves, they're not a

01:02:59 --> 01:03:00

good thing.

01:03:00 --> 01:03:02

You only submit to them

01:03:03 --> 01:03:05

in relation to what Allah told you to

01:03:05 --> 01:03:07

render to them as far as their rights

01:03:07 --> 01:03:07

are concerned.

01:03:08 --> 01:03:09

But the only one who has the right

01:03:09 --> 01:03:11

to be submitted to without any question is

01:03:11 --> 01:03:12

who is Allah

01:03:13 --> 01:03:15

So that was that that Islam was one

01:03:15 --> 01:03:17

of the one of the virtues of the

01:03:17 --> 01:03:19

heart. Now we talk about some of the

01:03:19 --> 01:03:20

rada'il, some of the

01:03:21 --> 01:03:22

some of those those diseases of the heart,

01:03:22 --> 01:03:24

the things that sicken the heart and that

01:03:24 --> 01:03:27

that that that that that eventually may kill

01:03:27 --> 01:03:28

it if a if they go unchecked in

01:03:28 --> 01:03:29

a person.

01:03:42 --> 01:03:44

They were not commanded but to worship Allah

01:03:46 --> 01:03:47

with sincerity

01:03:48 --> 01:03:49

to him,

01:03:49 --> 01:03:50

in Deen,

01:03:50 --> 01:03:52

and inclining toward,

01:03:54 --> 01:03:56

his truth, meaning being disinclined to any way

01:03:56 --> 01:03:57

other than his.

01:03:58 --> 01:04:00

So when people do fun and gamesy type

01:04:01 --> 01:04:02

stuff, when people,

01:04:02 --> 01:04:04

set up weird groups and start killing people,

01:04:05 --> 01:04:05

or when people,

01:04:06 --> 01:04:09

you know, get stuck into, like, yeah. Now

01:04:09 --> 01:04:10

I'm a big speaker, and I have to

01:04:10 --> 01:04:12

say this thing to make these people happy

01:04:12 --> 01:04:13

and that thing to make the other people

01:04:13 --> 01:04:15

happy. And when people do all the kind

01:04:15 --> 01:04:17

of weird distracted distracted fun and games they

01:04:17 --> 01:04:19

do and then they use the the cloak

01:04:19 --> 01:04:20

of Islam,

01:04:20 --> 01:04:23

let them reign themselves back in. Let's all

01:04:23 --> 01:04:25

reign ourselves back in and remember, we weren't

01:04:25 --> 01:04:27

commanded except for to worship Allah to Allah

01:04:27 --> 01:04:30

with our making our deen sincerely to him,

01:04:30 --> 01:04:32

disinclining from anything else and inclining toward his

01:04:32 --> 01:04:33

deen.

01:04:34 --> 01:04:36

It's very simple it's a very simple formula.

01:04:38 --> 01:04:39

Is not gonna ask you how come you

01:04:39 --> 01:04:40

didn't

01:04:40 --> 01:04:42

put the caliphate up. Unless you actually were

01:04:42 --> 01:04:43

able to do it, in which case, what

01:04:43 --> 01:04:45

are you waiting for? The rest of us,

01:04:45 --> 01:04:47

he's not gonna ask us. He's not gonna

01:04:47 --> 01:04:49

ask us why didn't you open Madrasa. He

01:04:50 --> 01:04:51

did not gonna ask how come you didn't

01:04:51 --> 01:04:53

open a new masjid as an individual. If

01:04:53 --> 01:04:54

you're able to do so and there's a

01:04:54 --> 01:04:55

need, yeah, he may ask you. But if

01:04:55 --> 01:04:57

you're not in the position to do those

01:04:57 --> 01:04:57

things,

01:04:58 --> 01:04:59

then you're not gonna be asked about those

01:04:59 --> 01:05:01

things. Those are the everyone wants to worry

01:05:01 --> 01:05:03

about the president. Nobody wants to worry about

01:05:03 --> 01:05:05

the piece of paper and garbage,

01:05:05 --> 01:05:07

in the street in front of their own

01:05:07 --> 01:05:07

house.

01:05:07 --> 01:05:09

Everyone wants to worry about the president and

01:05:09 --> 01:05:11

the king and the prime minister and all

01:05:11 --> 01:05:12

this big shot stuff that's outside of their

01:05:12 --> 01:05:13

scope.

01:05:13 --> 01:05:15

And the fact is that we worry about

01:05:15 --> 01:05:16

everything. We want good for everyone at every

01:05:16 --> 01:05:17

level.

01:05:17 --> 01:05:18

But the primary,

01:05:18 --> 01:05:20

like, bandwidth should be taken up by those

01:05:20 --> 01:05:22

things that you can do.

01:05:22 --> 01:05:24

And everybody, even if you're a slave that's

01:05:24 --> 01:05:25

in chains,

01:05:26 --> 01:05:28

even if you're shackled upside down in a

01:05:28 --> 01:05:28

dark room

01:05:29 --> 01:05:31

and you can't even move, Allah protect us

01:05:31 --> 01:05:33

from ever being in such a situation.

01:05:34 --> 01:05:36

Inside of your own heart, you're king.

01:05:36 --> 01:05:39

Nobody nobody has the right or the ability

01:05:39 --> 01:05:41

to enter in there, except for whoever you

01:05:41 --> 01:05:41

let in.

01:05:42 --> 01:05:44

And that's what you were first commanded and

01:05:44 --> 01:05:46

I was first commanded to deal with. And

01:05:46 --> 01:05:47

so, if that

01:05:48 --> 01:05:49

if that,

01:05:49 --> 01:05:52

imperative is compromised, that mandate is compromised

01:05:52 --> 01:05:55

for something else, then know that you've let

01:05:55 --> 01:05:58

things come out of order, of importance.

01:05:59 --> 01:06:01

And Allah most high said,

01:06:08 --> 01:06:10

Do not invalidate your charity,

01:06:12 --> 01:06:15

by seeking favor through it or causing harm

01:06:16 --> 01:06:18

like the one who spends his, wealth in

01:06:18 --> 01:06:20

order to show off to people. That you

01:06:20 --> 01:06:22

gave someone charity, and then you asked for

01:06:22 --> 01:06:24

a favor from them afterward. Or you gave

01:06:24 --> 01:06:26

someone charity, and you kept bothering, remember I

01:06:26 --> 01:06:27

gave you this, remember I gave you that,

01:06:27 --> 01:06:29

this, that, and the other thing. Don't be

01:06:29 --> 01:06:31

like that because it's a sign that you

01:06:31 --> 01:06:32

did it just to show off.

01:06:32 --> 01:06:33

That you did it just to show off.

01:06:33 --> 01:06:35

And ostentation is is is a is a

01:06:35 --> 01:06:36

cancer of the heart.

01:06:42 --> 01:06:44

And he he describes the as

01:06:44 --> 01:06:46

the ones who just show off to one

01:06:46 --> 01:06:48

another, and they don't actually remember

01:06:48 --> 01:06:50

Allah. Even though they're praying and giving

01:06:50 --> 01:06:54

and masjid presidenting and speeches and this and

01:06:54 --> 01:06:56

that, but the and and and,

01:06:57 --> 01:07:00

you know, dressing nicely and showing up with

01:07:00 --> 01:07:01

nice clothes and with nice perfume

01:07:02 --> 01:07:05

in front of everybody and Masjidhi type events

01:07:05 --> 01:07:06

and whatever,

01:07:06 --> 01:07:09

but, and donating big big checks and whatnot.

01:07:10 --> 01:07:11

All they're doing is showing off to one

01:07:11 --> 01:07:13

another, and they don't remember Allah to Allah

01:07:13 --> 01:07:15

in doing those things except for very little.

01:07:15 --> 01:07:17

Doesn't mean that everybody does that. There are

01:07:17 --> 01:07:18

a lot of people who remember Allah Ta'ala

01:07:18 --> 01:07:20

in doing those things. But,

01:07:20 --> 01:07:23

the are not them. And sometimes the difference

01:07:23 --> 01:07:25

between the 2 of them are subtle. You

01:07:25 --> 01:07:26

can't tell as an outsider which one's who

01:07:26 --> 01:07:28

who's who's doing what.

01:07:29 --> 01:07:30

You know? There are a lot of there

01:07:30 --> 01:07:32

like, you know, like, there's animals in nature.

01:07:33 --> 01:07:35

So there's a snake that's really poisonous, and

01:07:35 --> 01:07:37

then there's another snake that looks like the

01:07:37 --> 01:07:38

one that's really poisonous, but

01:07:38 --> 01:07:40

it it can barely bite you.

01:07:41 --> 01:07:43

2 things look very similar to one another

01:07:43 --> 01:07:45

but, you know, you won't know from from

01:07:45 --> 01:07:46

the outside which one's which.

01:08:16 --> 01:08:17

Said that the prophet said,

01:08:19 --> 01:08:19

whoever,

01:08:20 --> 01:08:23

whoever speaks in order to be heard, not

01:08:23 --> 01:08:24

for the pleasure of Allah Ta'ala,

01:08:25 --> 01:08:27

whoever speaks in order to be heard,

01:08:28 --> 01:08:29

on the other day on the day of

01:08:29 --> 01:08:30

judgment,

01:08:31 --> 01:08:32

will

01:08:33 --> 01:08:35

make all of his secrets heard in front

01:08:35 --> 01:08:37

of people, all of the bad things about

01:08:37 --> 01:08:39

that person. Because they've wanted to say something

01:08:39 --> 01:08:41

nice in order to be heard, like, how

01:08:41 --> 01:08:43

good they are. Will let the people hear

01:08:43 --> 01:08:44

all of their secrets to show how bad

01:08:44 --> 01:08:46

they really are on the day of judgment.

01:08:46 --> 01:08:47

And the one who,

01:08:49 --> 01:08:50

the one who,

01:08:50 --> 01:08:52

shows off to other people in order to

01:08:52 --> 01:08:53

be seen,

01:08:53 --> 01:08:55

that person will show everybody,

01:08:56 --> 01:08:57

all of their bad things in front of

01:08:57 --> 01:08:59

everyone on the day of judgment.

01:09:00 --> 01:09:02

We should have a little bit of shame

01:09:02 --> 01:09:04

when doing something even though a person

01:09:05 --> 01:09:07

generally, their nature is that they would like

01:09:07 --> 01:09:09

that other people see good about them.

01:09:09 --> 01:09:11

But to purposely show off, a person should

01:09:11 --> 01:09:13

be a little bit careful.

01:09:13 --> 01:09:15

Person in those situations,

01:09:16 --> 01:09:18

they should they should be careful, and they

01:09:18 --> 01:09:21

should remember that I also have sins. Imagine

01:09:21 --> 01:09:22

in this in this gathering, if my sins

01:09:22 --> 01:09:24

were to be seen by people, how would

01:09:24 --> 01:09:24

I feel?

01:09:25 --> 01:09:27

And this is interesting, you know, like when,

01:09:27 --> 01:09:29

anyone here in the financial sector?

01:09:31 --> 01:09:33

Right? So you're kinda you're in business school.

01:09:33 --> 01:09:35

Right? So if I have like like Apple

01:09:35 --> 01:09:37

is a pretty good pretty strong company, powerful

01:09:37 --> 01:09:39

company, isn't it? Right? If I have a

01:09:39 --> 01:09:41

$1,000,000,000 should I just buy Apple shares with

01:09:41 --> 01:09:42

all of it?

01:09:45 --> 01:09:48

Few just failed. No. Why? You should diversify.

01:09:48 --> 01:09:50

You should diversify because if something happens to

01:09:50 --> 01:09:52

Apple, the entire ship is sunk. If you

01:09:52 --> 01:09:52

diversify,

01:09:53 --> 01:09:55

something goes down, something goes up, your money

01:09:55 --> 01:09:56

is more safe that way.

01:09:57 --> 01:09:59

Your work for the akhira is like that

01:09:59 --> 01:10:00

as well.

01:10:01 --> 01:10:03

Just like certain investments are high risk, high

01:10:03 --> 01:10:05

gain, and certain investments are very stable.

01:10:06 --> 01:10:09

The sadaqa that you do that's so subtle

01:10:09 --> 01:10:10

that the left hand doesn't know what the

01:10:10 --> 01:10:12

right hand is spending,

01:10:12 --> 01:10:15

that may not be what gets the masjid

01:10:15 --> 01:10:16

built completely.

01:10:17 --> 01:10:17

However,

01:10:18 --> 01:10:20

it is something that you know it's money

01:10:20 --> 01:10:22

in the bank, both literally and

01:10:23 --> 01:10:23

spiritually.

01:10:25 --> 01:10:28

And it's unassailable unless until and unless you

01:10:28 --> 01:10:30

actually spill the beans and tell anybody else

01:10:30 --> 01:10:32

or like if you leave the dean or

01:10:32 --> 01:10:35

something like that, generally, it's relatively safe.

01:10:35 --> 01:10:38

Right? Those deeds that are so subtle that

01:10:38 --> 01:10:40

even your children don't know about them, even

01:10:40 --> 01:10:41

your spouse doesn't know about them, even your

01:10:41 --> 01:10:43

parents doesn't know don't know about them, your

01:10:43 --> 01:10:45

friends don't know about them, you never told

01:10:45 --> 01:10:46

them to anybody whatsoever.

01:10:48 --> 01:10:49

So someone might say, well, how about the

01:10:49 --> 01:10:51

Jummah Khutba? Someone has to give the Jummah

01:10:51 --> 01:10:53

Khutba. Right? I chewed all of them out

01:10:53 --> 01:10:54

that if you wanna give the Khutba, you

01:10:54 --> 01:10:56

should go to Madrasah for the next, like,

01:10:56 --> 01:10:58

whatever 5, 6 years and then give it

01:10:58 --> 01:10:59

instead of, like, just, you know, coveting the

01:10:59 --> 01:11:02

the mimbar for free. Right? Okay. Mufti Mun

01:11:02 --> 01:11:04

Tasir is here. He's like the like of

01:11:04 --> 01:11:06

your home. It's actually befitting of him to

01:11:06 --> 01:11:08

give the the jamaqutba. Right? He's someone in

01:11:08 --> 01:11:10

that position. Or you become the Masjid president

01:11:10 --> 01:11:11

because there's nobody else to do it, and

01:11:11 --> 01:11:13

you didn't want to, but they put you

01:11:13 --> 01:11:14

in the in the position, and you're in

01:11:14 --> 01:11:16

a position in order to do the job

01:11:16 --> 01:11:17

well and whatever.

01:11:17 --> 01:11:18

Go ahead and do all of those things.

01:11:18 --> 01:11:20

Don't abandon them. They'll be, like,

01:11:21 --> 01:11:23

too too humble, to do all of this

01:11:23 --> 01:11:25

and no stuff or lie, and I'm not

01:11:25 --> 01:11:26

gonna show off. And then, like, the mustard

01:11:26 --> 01:11:28

goes into bankruptcy or whatever. Right? No.

01:11:29 --> 01:11:31

Okay. If it's if if the you didn't

01:11:31 --> 01:11:32

covet it and it came to you.

01:11:33 --> 01:11:36

Alright? Sayedna Omar, alayahu, when he when he

01:11:36 --> 01:11:37

became Khalifa,

01:11:37 --> 01:11:39

the blood drained from his face,

01:11:39 --> 01:11:42

and he's took the took the bay'ah from

01:11:42 --> 01:11:44

the people. He took their oath of allegiance,

01:11:44 --> 01:11:45

and he said, I heard the messenger of

01:11:45 --> 01:11:48

Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam say, whoever whoever

01:11:48 --> 01:11:50

seeks this affair, Allah will destroy him through

01:11:50 --> 01:11:51

it. And whoever,

01:11:52 --> 01:11:53

this affair is thrust on his shoulders, Allah

01:11:53 --> 01:11:54

will aid him in it.

01:11:55 --> 01:11:57

So go ahead and do it,

01:11:57 --> 01:11:59

and seek Allah Ta'ala's help if you did

01:11:59 --> 01:12:00

it the right way.

01:12:01 --> 01:12:03

However, don't expect you're gonna see any of

01:12:03 --> 01:12:05

those deeds on the Day of Judgment.

01:12:06 --> 01:12:09

If it happens, surprise surprise. How pleasant. Don't

01:12:09 --> 01:12:11

expect that you unless, you know, that you're

01:12:11 --> 01:12:13

like the super like, like,

01:12:13 --> 01:12:16

Sufik ninja that, like, you're immune from,

01:12:17 --> 01:12:18

immune from,

01:12:18 --> 01:12:21

showing off and you're you're you're gonna be

01:12:21 --> 01:12:23

able to avoid all these pitfalls. You're a

01:12:23 --> 01:12:24

human being at the end of the day.

01:12:24 --> 01:12:25

Everybody likes people to like them.

01:12:26 --> 01:12:27

There's nobody who'd who's like, yeah. I want

01:12:27 --> 01:12:29

everyone to hate me. Those people are actually

01:12:30 --> 01:12:31

usually, they don't need to go to, like,

01:12:31 --> 01:12:32

a Sufi Sheikh. They need to go to,

01:12:32 --> 01:12:34

like, a mental institution

01:12:34 --> 01:12:37

because their their disposition is imbalanced. No normal

01:12:37 --> 01:12:39

person likes everyone to hate them.

01:12:40 --> 01:12:40

So,

01:12:41 --> 01:12:42

you know, do the work.

01:12:43 --> 01:12:45

Ask for Allah Ta'ala's help.

01:12:45 --> 01:12:47

Do something a little bit on the side

01:12:48 --> 01:12:49

expecting that none of this is gonna pay

01:12:49 --> 01:12:51

off on the day of judgment. If it

01:12:51 --> 01:12:53

does, eat Mubarak to everybody.

01:12:55 --> 01:12:56

But, this this is a very precarious path

01:12:56 --> 01:12:57

to go down.

01:13:23 --> 01:13:25

So this is really scary

01:13:26 --> 01:13:27

for a number of people

01:13:28 --> 01:13:29

that Sayna Abu Hurair

01:13:30 --> 01:13:31

who mentioned

01:13:32 --> 01:13:34

or narrated that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu

01:13:34 --> 01:13:35

alaihi wa sallam said,

01:13:36 --> 01:13:36

whoever

01:13:38 --> 01:13:39

learned a knowledge,

01:13:41 --> 01:13:43

from those from those knowledges that are learned

01:13:43 --> 01:13:45

for the sake of Allah Ta'ala,

01:13:46 --> 01:13:47

seeking the pleasure of Allah

01:13:48 --> 01:13:49

Literally seeking the face of Allah

01:13:51 --> 01:13:53

mighty and majestic is he.

01:13:53 --> 01:13:56

But they didn't that that's that's why they

01:13:56 --> 01:13:57

should have learned it, but they didn't learn

01:13:57 --> 01:13:59

it except for in order to

01:13:59 --> 01:14:01

get a piece of the pie, get a

01:14:01 --> 01:14:02

piece of the dunya,

01:14:04 --> 01:14:06

to get some material of the dunya. That

01:14:06 --> 01:14:09

person won't even he won't even smell the

01:14:09 --> 01:14:10

fragrance of Jannah on the day of judgment.

01:14:12 --> 01:14:14

Meaning what? The fragrance you can smell from

01:14:14 --> 01:14:15

far away?

01:14:16 --> 01:14:17

They won't even smell the fragrance of Jannah.

01:14:17 --> 01:14:19

They're not gonna come anywhere near it. So

01:14:19 --> 01:14:21

everybody who wants to go to medical school

01:14:21 --> 01:14:22

in order to help people,

01:14:24 --> 01:14:24

good for you.

01:14:27 --> 01:14:29

Will test you, and you'll have a chance

01:14:29 --> 01:14:31

to help people more or make more money,

01:14:31 --> 01:14:31

and

01:14:32 --> 01:14:33

have fun.

01:14:34 --> 01:14:35

And everybody who wants

01:14:36 --> 01:14:39

to give the because I want to serve

01:14:39 --> 01:14:39

Islam,

01:14:41 --> 01:14:42

you know, but they have the chance to

01:14:42 --> 01:14:44

say the make people happy, and they make

01:14:44 --> 01:14:46

the right choice or the wrong choice. Good

01:14:46 --> 01:14:48

for you. It's an extremely perilous path to

01:14:48 --> 01:14:48

go down.

01:14:49 --> 01:14:51

And this has to do with how horrible

01:14:52 --> 01:14:54

showing off is. There's Rasool Allahu alaihi wa

01:14:54 --> 01:14:56

sallam says in another hadith, he says that

01:14:56 --> 01:14:57

the riya

01:14:58 --> 01:14:59

showing off,

01:14:59 --> 01:15:00

uh-uh

01:15:00 --> 01:15:03

is what? It's a shirk al asar.

01:15:03 --> 01:15:05

It's the the the minor shirk.

01:15:06 --> 01:15:08

So imagine how imagine,

01:15:08 --> 01:15:11

imagine how bad that that sin is that

01:15:11 --> 01:15:12

it should be,

01:15:12 --> 01:15:15

associated with Kufr in any way. Because we

01:15:15 --> 01:15:17

know from our that Kufr is a qualitatively

01:15:17 --> 01:15:20

higher order of rebellion against the lord. Mighty

01:15:20 --> 01:15:22

and majestic is he than any sin.

01:15:52 --> 01:15:55

Abu Hurair radiates a hadith qudsi that the

01:15:55 --> 01:15:56

mess that he heard the messenger of Allah,

01:15:56 --> 01:15:59

sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, say, Allah, most high,

01:15:59 --> 01:15:59

said,

01:16:01 --> 01:16:03

I am the the the

01:16:04 --> 01:16:06

the the partner that's

01:16:06 --> 01:16:07

in least need

01:16:08 --> 01:16:09

for for partnership.

01:16:10 --> 01:16:12

So whoever does a deed for me,

01:16:13 --> 01:16:15

or so whoever does a deed in which

01:16:15 --> 01:16:17

they intended it to be for me and

01:16:17 --> 01:16:19

for someone else at the same time, I

01:16:19 --> 01:16:21

leave the share to whoever else they intended

01:16:21 --> 01:16:23

it for. Meaning, if a person does something

01:16:23 --> 01:16:24

like, oh, I'm doing it for the sake

01:16:24 --> 01:16:27

of Allah and also there's, you know, sister

01:16:27 --> 01:16:28

so and so in sister section that, you

01:16:28 --> 01:16:30

know, I kind of wanna impress and this

01:16:30 --> 01:16:33

and that. Allah says, look, if you enter

01:16:33 --> 01:16:35

me into a partnership that I have to

01:16:35 --> 01:16:36

share something with somebody,

01:16:36 --> 01:16:37

I don't need any I don't need to

01:16:37 --> 01:16:40

share anything with anyone. Anything that somebody gives

01:16:40 --> 01:16:41

me a piece of it and give someone

01:16:41 --> 01:16:43

else a piece of it, I just say

01:16:43 --> 01:16:45

it's I give my share back to the

01:16:45 --> 01:16:47

to the other people that you did it

01:16:47 --> 01:16:48

for, and,

01:16:49 --> 01:16:51

and I I leave that that deed completely,

01:16:51 --> 01:16:52

which is another way of,

01:16:53 --> 01:16:56

of expressing the same concept that Allah is

01:16:56 --> 01:16:58

pure and he doesn't accept anything other than

01:16:58 --> 01:16:59

that which is pure.

01:17:00 --> 01:17:00

So

01:17:02 --> 01:17:04

it should be very scary for a person

01:17:04 --> 01:17:06

that any part, even if it's 99% for

01:17:06 --> 01:17:08

the sake of Allah and 1% in order

01:17:08 --> 01:17:11

to impress the brothers because the masjid election

01:17:11 --> 01:17:12

is coming up or whatever,

01:17:12 --> 01:17:14

100 other reasons that that are there, you

01:17:14 --> 01:17:15

know,

01:17:16 --> 01:17:18

because I wanna be accepted by the people

01:17:18 --> 01:17:19

at work or whatever.

01:17:20 --> 01:17:22

All of those all of those things, Allah

01:17:22 --> 01:17:24

will abandon that deed. He will not accept

01:17:24 --> 01:17:26

it. And this is very important a person

01:17:26 --> 01:17:28

has to understand. This is one of the

01:17:28 --> 01:17:30

things that our ulama drilled into us, our

01:17:30 --> 01:17:30

when

01:17:31 --> 01:17:32

we were when we were studying.

01:17:33 --> 01:17:35

And I see it's like almost rarely, if

01:17:35 --> 01:17:38

not, almost never mentioned over here, which is

01:17:38 --> 01:17:40

you can do a deed. It's difficult enough

01:17:40 --> 01:17:41

to do a deed correctly.

01:17:43 --> 01:17:44

If you did it an incorrectly,

01:17:45 --> 01:17:46

you should assume it's gonna be rejected. If

01:17:46 --> 01:17:49

you prayed without, rejected. If you prayed, like,

01:17:49 --> 01:17:51

1 raka too short, you prayed 3 3

01:17:51 --> 01:17:53

rakah for instead of 4, you can assume

01:17:53 --> 01:17:54

it's going to be rejected.

01:17:55 --> 01:17:57

There's no real need to think about it.

01:17:58 --> 01:17:59

However, just because you did something the right

01:17:59 --> 01:18:02

way, doesn't mean it's going to be accepted.

01:18:02 --> 01:18:04

Allah Ta'ala gets to choose who he accepts

01:18:04 --> 01:18:04

from.

01:18:07 --> 01:18:09

Allah doesn't accept from anyone other than the

01:18:09 --> 01:18:11

one that fears them. So, person should constantly

01:18:11 --> 01:18:13

be afraid, does Allah accept this or does

01:18:13 --> 01:18:16

he not accept it? And he also tells

01:18:16 --> 01:18:18

the reasons for why things are not accepted.

01:18:18 --> 01:18:20

And one of them is what? To do

01:18:20 --> 01:18:21

something for the sake of anyone other than

01:18:21 --> 01:18:24

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Now the the genius

01:18:24 --> 01:18:26

thing of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam

01:18:26 --> 01:18:28

is what? Is that what was he doing

01:18:28 --> 01:18:30

for 23 years? They conquered barely anything.

01:18:31 --> 01:18:33

They conquered just the backwoods of the Arabian

01:18:33 --> 01:18:35

Peninsula. Even that, almost all of it rebelled

01:18:35 --> 01:18:36

once Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam passed

01:18:36 --> 01:18:38

away. What did he do for all that

01:18:38 --> 01:18:40

time? That that Omar and Uthman

01:18:41 --> 01:18:43

conquered more territory, Abu Bakr conquered more territory

01:18:43 --> 01:18:44

than him.

01:18:45 --> 01:18:47

What did he do? He prepared that Abu

01:18:47 --> 01:18:48

Bakr, Uthman and Omar

01:18:49 --> 01:18:51

because conquering territory is easy.

01:18:51 --> 01:18:54

Preparing human being is very difficult. And the

01:18:54 --> 01:18:56

person who can do small deeds with purity

01:18:56 --> 01:18:57

and akhlas,

01:18:58 --> 01:19:00

for them to do big deeds is easy.

01:19:00 --> 01:19:02

It's an easy jump to jump from doing

01:19:02 --> 01:19:04

small things, small deeds with ekhlas to doing

01:19:04 --> 01:19:05

big deeds with ekhlas.

01:19:06 --> 01:19:08

But the person who cannot do something small

01:19:08 --> 01:19:09

with Ikhlas,

01:19:11 --> 01:19:12

they and they and they can do big

01:19:12 --> 01:19:14

things also but not with a class. To

01:19:14 --> 01:19:15

teach them to do anything with a class

01:19:15 --> 01:19:16

is very difficult.

01:19:17 --> 01:19:19

What does a class mean? It means sincerity,

01:19:19 --> 01:19:21

but it literally means to make something pure.

01:19:22 --> 01:19:25

So these ahadith are are are very explicit,

01:19:25 --> 01:19:27

very clear that the prophetic methodology

01:19:27 --> 01:19:29

requires teaching somebody

01:19:29 --> 01:19:31

to do something with the purity of intention

01:19:31 --> 01:19:33

first, and if it looks big or small

01:19:33 --> 01:19:35

to other people, the heck with them.

01:19:36 --> 01:19:38

If you can learn to do something simple

01:19:38 --> 01:19:40

like pray 4 raka'as without thinking about anyone

01:19:40 --> 01:19:42

other than Allah for the 4 minutes it

01:19:42 --> 01:19:44

takes you to pray that those 4 raka'as.

01:19:44 --> 01:19:45

If you can do it, good for you.

01:19:45 --> 01:19:47

Make du'a for me. It's difficult for me.

01:19:48 --> 01:19:49

If you can teach someone to do that,

01:19:50 --> 01:19:52

then that person to teach them how to

01:19:52 --> 01:19:53

take over the world and run a government,

01:19:53 --> 01:19:55

you know, out of the fear of Allah

01:19:55 --> 01:19:58

Ta'ala and not being greedy is easier than

01:19:58 --> 01:20:00

finding someone who teaches to who has taken

01:20:00 --> 01:20:01

over the world already

01:20:01 --> 01:20:03

and teaching them how to pray for raka'as

01:20:03 --> 01:20:04

with Ikhlas.

01:20:04 --> 01:20:05

The prophetic methodology

01:20:06 --> 01:20:09

puts the purity, the training of purity in

01:20:09 --> 01:20:10

a person's intention first.

01:20:10 --> 01:20:12

And then after we let them rip on

01:20:12 --> 01:20:13

the world, that's fine.

01:20:13 --> 01:20:15

They'll do good things. They'll do great things.

01:20:16 --> 01:20:17

They'll do great things, but you have to

01:20:17 --> 01:20:19

get to that point. And that's the difficult

01:20:19 --> 01:20:21

part. That's the the the

01:20:22 --> 01:20:24

the amazing part, that proves that the din

01:20:24 --> 01:20:27

is from from Revelation and not from from

01:20:27 --> 01:20:29

this world. Because people of this world, they

01:20:29 --> 01:20:30

not only

01:20:30 --> 01:20:32

aren't able to do things with a class,

01:20:32 --> 01:20:33

they don't even know what the point of

01:20:33 --> 01:20:34

a class is.

01:20:35 --> 01:20:35

Yes.

01:20:36 --> 01:20:38

What about for someone who does

01:20:38 --> 01:20:40

certain I got with the hope or a

01:20:40 --> 01:20:43

secondary goal, to inspire someone else that's watching

01:20:43 --> 01:20:45

them to also do something. For example, a

01:20:45 --> 01:20:46

father.

01:20:46 --> 01:20:48

Maybe the father Yeah. You do things for

01:20:48 --> 01:20:51

a good good good good, example. Mhmm. Like

01:20:51 --> 01:20:53

I said, diversify your investments. It's possible that

01:20:53 --> 01:20:55

a person may do something, and even the

01:20:55 --> 01:20:56

showing off is for the sake of Allah

01:20:56 --> 01:20:59

because they want their children to, like, whatever

01:20:59 --> 01:21:00

have good deen.

01:21:00 --> 01:21:02

But it's like high risk, high high high

01:21:02 --> 01:21:03

reward.

01:21:03 --> 01:21:05

Go ahead and do it, but don't assume

01:21:05 --> 01:21:07

that it's gonna count because there's very few

01:21:07 --> 01:21:09

human beings that are able to be immune

01:21:09 --> 01:21:12

from their immune to their own nuffs.

01:21:12 --> 01:21:14

Getting in at the last minute and be

01:21:14 --> 01:21:16

like, look, my kid thinks I'm pious. Right?

01:21:17 --> 01:21:19

So do it. Don't stop.

01:21:19 --> 01:21:21

But do something else on the side in

01:21:21 --> 01:21:23

order to hedge against if those deeds fail

01:21:23 --> 01:21:24

fail you on the day of judgment.

01:23:20 --> 01:23:21

So

01:23:22 --> 01:23:23

this is a very

01:23:24 --> 01:23:26

scary hadith. We should take a lesson from

01:23:26 --> 01:23:28

it because whatever for whatever reason, we act

01:23:28 --> 01:23:30

like these things are like, we're immune to

01:23:30 --> 01:23:31

them, but we're not.

01:23:32 --> 01:23:34

And here's a story about people who

01:23:35 --> 01:23:37

probably did more for the dean than us,

01:23:37 --> 01:23:38

and they got caught.

01:23:40 --> 01:23:41

So, you know,

01:23:43 --> 01:23:45

we should also fear getting caught even more

01:23:45 --> 01:23:46

so than than than them.

01:23:47 --> 01:23:50

That Sayna Abu Hurair radiallahu anhu also narrates

01:23:50 --> 01:23:52

that I heard the messenger of Allah sallallahu

01:23:52 --> 01:23:53

alaihi wa sallam say.

01:23:54 --> 01:23:57

The first person indeed, the first person that

01:23:57 --> 01:23:58

will be judged on the day of judgment

01:24:00 --> 01:24:02

will be a man who was who was

01:24:02 --> 01:24:04

martyred or who ostensibly seemed like he was

01:24:04 --> 01:24:06

martyred in the path of Allah Ta'ala.

01:24:07 --> 01:24:09

He will be brought forth. Allah Ta'ala will

01:24:09 --> 01:24:11

show him all the blessings he gave him,

01:24:11 --> 01:24:12

and the person will admit to them.

01:24:13 --> 01:24:13

And then

01:24:14 --> 01:24:16

Allah Ta'ala will say, what did, you know,

01:24:16 --> 01:24:18

what did you do with those blessings? He

01:24:18 --> 01:24:20

said, I fought in your path until I

01:24:20 --> 01:24:20

was martyred.

01:24:21 --> 01:24:23

Allah Ta'ala said, you lie.

01:24:24 --> 01:24:26

Rather, you fought so that people would say

01:24:26 --> 01:24:29

that you're brave and they said it. Then

01:24:29 --> 01:24:31

he will be commanded to be dragged by

01:24:31 --> 01:24:32

his face

01:24:32 --> 01:24:34

and flung into the fire.

01:24:36 --> 01:24:38

And a man then the next person who'll

01:24:38 --> 01:24:39

be judged on the day of judgment,

01:24:41 --> 01:24:43

will be a person who learned knowledge and

01:24:43 --> 01:24:45

taught it and recited the Quran.

01:24:46 --> 01:24:47

And he will be brought

01:24:49 --> 01:24:50

and he will be shown his blessings that

01:24:50 --> 01:24:52

Allah gave him and he will

01:24:52 --> 01:24:55

acknowledge them. And then

01:24:55 --> 01:24:56

Allah Ta'ala will say, what did you do

01:24:56 --> 01:24:57

with these blessings?'

01:24:58 --> 01:25:01

And he'll say, 'I learned knowledge and I

01:25:01 --> 01:25:03

taught it and I read for your sake

01:25:03 --> 01:25:04

the Qur'an.

01:25:04 --> 01:25:06

I recited for your sake the Qur'an.

01:25:07 --> 01:25:09

Allah Ta'ala will say, you lie.

01:25:09 --> 01:25:12

Rather, you learned so that it would be

01:25:12 --> 01:25:15

said about you that you're a scholar, you're

01:25:15 --> 01:25:15

an alim,

01:25:16 --> 01:25:17

and you,

01:25:17 --> 01:25:19

recited the Quran so that it would be

01:25:19 --> 01:25:21

said you're a Quran reciter, you're Qari,

01:25:22 --> 01:25:24

and it has been said about you,

01:25:25 --> 01:25:27

meaning you got what you wanted already,

01:25:27 --> 01:25:29

then it would be commanded that that person

01:25:29 --> 01:25:31

be dragged on his face and flung into

01:25:31 --> 01:25:31

the fire.

01:25:32 --> 01:25:35

And the third one, will be a man

01:25:35 --> 01:25:36

who Allah Ta'ala

01:25:37 --> 01:25:40

was generous to and gave him from all

01:25:40 --> 01:25:41

different types of wealth

01:25:42 --> 01:25:44

and, he will be brought forth and he

01:25:44 --> 01:25:46

will be shown the blessings he was given

01:25:46 --> 01:25:47

and he will admit to them.

01:25:48 --> 01:25:48

And

01:25:49 --> 01:25:51

Allah will say, what did you do with

01:25:51 --> 01:25:51

these blessings?

01:25:52 --> 01:25:54

And he will say, I didn't leave any

01:25:54 --> 01:25:55

path

01:25:55 --> 01:25:57

that you love people to spend on except

01:25:57 --> 01:25:59

for I spent in your,

01:26:00 --> 01:26:02

ex I spent on that path for your

01:26:02 --> 01:26:03

sake.

01:26:03 --> 01:26:04

And

01:26:04 --> 01:26:06

Allah will say, you lie.

01:26:06 --> 01:26:08

Rather, you spent so that people will say

01:26:08 --> 01:26:10

that this person is a,

01:26:11 --> 01:26:11

an extremely

01:26:12 --> 01:26:13

generous person.

01:26:13 --> 01:26:15

The Sahih is the person if you ask

01:26:15 --> 01:26:16

him, he's the generous one. If you ask

01:26:16 --> 01:26:17

him, he gives.

01:26:17 --> 01:26:19

The Jawad is the one that he gives

01:26:19 --> 01:26:20

even without being asked. That you that you

01:26:21 --> 01:26:22

that people would say that you're so you're

01:26:22 --> 01:26:23

the

01:26:23 --> 01:26:25

superlative example of generosity.

01:26:25 --> 01:26:28

And people said it about you, then it

01:26:28 --> 01:26:30

will be commanded that that person be dragged

01:26:30 --> 01:26:32

by their face and flung into the fire.

01:26:33 --> 01:26:34

This is like scary stuff.

01:26:36 --> 01:26:37

Very few of any of us will ever

01:26:37 --> 01:26:39

be martyred in the path of Allah

01:26:40 --> 01:26:41

Very few of us will ever have that

01:26:41 --> 01:26:43

much money much less spend in the path

01:26:43 --> 01:26:45

of Allah Ta'ala. Very few of us will

01:26:45 --> 01:26:46

have any knowledge,

01:26:46 --> 01:26:48

or or much less this level of knowledge

01:26:48 --> 01:26:50

that the person, the people will know that

01:26:50 --> 01:26:51

person amongst the qaum to be a master,

01:26:51 --> 01:26:54

a reciter of the Quran, and a master

01:26:54 --> 01:26:55

of of of scholarship.

01:26:55 --> 01:26:57

So if those people can go wrong with

01:26:57 --> 01:26:59

it, people like us, it can, you know,

01:26:59 --> 01:27:00

it can go very wrong.

01:27:01 --> 01:27:03

It can go very wrong. A person the

01:27:03 --> 01:27:04

person who thinks that it's not gonna go

01:27:04 --> 01:27:06

wrong, they're the ones that it goes wrong

01:27:06 --> 01:27:08

for. The person who constantly is afraid of

01:27:08 --> 01:27:10

it going wrong, they're the ones that have

01:27:10 --> 01:27:11

a chance of being saved.

01:27:11 --> 01:27:12

Allah ta'ala.

01:27:13 --> 01:27:14

Save us all.

01:27:17 --> 01:27:19

I apologize. We're going on long. We're going

01:27:19 --> 01:27:21

2 hours without a break. But, you know,

01:27:21 --> 01:27:23

after that, then you can go home and

01:27:23 --> 01:27:25

we'll be done with the day. So have

01:27:25 --> 01:27:26

a little bit more,

01:27:27 --> 01:27:27

patience,

01:27:27 --> 01:27:29

and, we'll get through as much as we

01:27:29 --> 01:27:31

can. And whatever we don't get to, so

01:27:32 --> 01:27:34

generously volunteered to,

01:27:35 --> 01:27:36

to to finish the book with you all.

01:27:40 --> 01:27:41

The

01:27:42 --> 01:27:44

the prohibition of envy.

01:27:48 --> 01:27:48

I

01:27:52 --> 01:27:54

think this is a typo. It should be

01:27:54 --> 01:27:55

a a a a a a fatha or

01:27:55 --> 01:27:57

a kasra. Anything but a

01:28:04 --> 01:28:05

a

01:28:11 --> 01:28:14

That hasad the the the definition of envy,

01:28:15 --> 01:28:17

for the purposes of the shara'a is to

01:28:17 --> 01:28:19

wish for someone who has a blessing to

01:28:19 --> 01:28:22

lose it, whether that blessing is a blessing

01:28:22 --> 01:28:23

of the deen or a blessing of the

01:28:23 --> 01:28:24

dunya.

01:28:25 --> 01:28:27

So for example, someone else has something nice

01:28:27 --> 01:28:29

and you're like, oh, that's cool. I wish

01:28:29 --> 01:28:30

I had one too.

01:28:31 --> 01:28:33

It's not so bad. I mean, it might

01:28:33 --> 01:28:34

not be a sin at all, in fact.

01:28:35 --> 01:28:37

But the idea that you you're like, how

01:28:37 --> 01:28:39

that person doesn't deserve it. You feel bad

01:28:39 --> 01:28:41

that someone else got something, it makes you

01:28:41 --> 01:28:43

angry or burn inside. That's really bad.

01:28:44 --> 01:28:46

That's not good. If you, you know, wish

01:28:46 --> 01:28:48

to have it as well, it's probably better

01:28:48 --> 01:28:49

not to.

01:28:49 --> 01:28:50

Why?

01:28:51 --> 01:28:51

Because Allah

01:28:52 --> 01:28:54

gives everyone exactly what they need.

01:28:55 --> 01:28:57

And he chooses the best for a person

01:28:57 --> 01:28:58

as long as that person has iman.

01:28:59 --> 01:29:01

We won't say chooses best but he chooses

01:29:01 --> 01:29:03

good for everyone as long as that person

01:29:03 --> 01:29:05

has iman. Person should always ask Allah for

01:29:05 --> 01:29:08

what's best and let him decide. Whatever his

01:29:08 --> 01:29:09

decision is, you should

01:29:09 --> 01:29:12

revere his decision more than you revere your

01:29:12 --> 01:29:14

own. The problem with with with wanting someone

01:29:14 --> 01:29:16

else to lose their their blessing is not

01:29:16 --> 01:29:18

only is it a jerk thing with regards

01:29:18 --> 01:29:20

to somebody else, but the more deep and

01:29:20 --> 01:29:21

insidious,

01:29:21 --> 01:29:23

problem is what

01:29:23 --> 01:29:26

is that the supposition is that Allah made

01:29:26 --> 01:29:28

a mistake or that you knew,

01:29:28 --> 01:29:30

better. When you think someone else got something

01:29:30 --> 01:29:32

they didn't deserve, you think that you know

01:29:32 --> 01:29:34

something about what they deserve better than what

01:29:34 --> 01:29:35

Allah knew.

01:29:36 --> 01:29:37

And that's really bad.

01:29:37 --> 01:29:39

That's really bad.

01:30:26 --> 01:30:26

Should

01:30:27 --> 01:30:28

be

01:30:29 --> 01:30:30

or do they envy the peep

01:30:31 --> 01:30:33

envy the people for what Allah gave them

01:30:33 --> 01:30:34

gave them from his grace?

01:30:36 --> 01:30:38

The idea is that there was a lot

01:30:38 --> 01:30:40

of envy. There was Hasid when Rasulullah Sallallahu

01:30:40 --> 01:30:43

Alaihi Wasallam, when he received his nubuah,

01:30:43 --> 01:30:45

the other clans of Quraysh were like, this

01:30:45 --> 01:30:46

is bogus. How come we're not we don't

01:30:46 --> 01:30:47

get an nabi?

01:30:48 --> 01:30:50

That's really what a lot of it boiled

01:30:50 --> 01:30:51

down to. It wasn't like they had a

01:30:51 --> 01:30:53

they they they, you know, they had any

01:30:53 --> 01:30:55

legitimate grievance that Rasulullah salallahu alaihi wa sallam

01:30:55 --> 01:30:58

is calling toward anything that doesn't make sense

01:30:58 --> 01:30:59

or isn't really good.

01:30:59 --> 01:31:01

But they're like, this is like, this is

01:31:02 --> 01:31:04

they're try they're like, he this is, Banu

01:31:04 --> 01:31:06

Banu Hashim trying to get a leg up

01:31:06 --> 01:31:06

on us,

01:31:07 --> 01:31:09

or whatever. And so imagine Hasid is such

01:31:09 --> 01:31:11

a bad sickness

01:31:11 --> 01:31:14

that Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab. Abu Lahab

01:31:14 --> 01:31:16

is literally he would have been like the

01:31:16 --> 01:31:17

Ahlulbayt of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam

01:31:17 --> 01:31:19

if he had accepted the deen.

01:31:19 --> 01:31:21

Abu Jahl, these are the close relatives. These

01:31:21 --> 01:31:22

are the noble men of creation, the close

01:31:22 --> 01:31:24

relatives of the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi

01:31:24 --> 01:31:27

wa sallam. If they had accepted Islam, they

01:31:27 --> 01:31:29

would have had a maqam like no other.

01:31:29 --> 01:31:30

But now they're, like, going to become the

01:31:30 --> 01:31:32

laughing stock of the hellfire.

01:31:34 --> 01:31:37

Hasid made it go really wrong for them,

01:31:38 --> 01:31:40

And it can make it go really wrong

01:31:40 --> 01:31:41

for for for other people as well.

01:31:42 --> 01:31:43

Sin Abu Hurair

01:31:44 --> 01:31:46

he he he said that the messenger the

01:31:46 --> 01:31:47

prophet

01:31:48 --> 01:31:50

said, I warn you with regards to,

01:31:51 --> 01:31:53

with regards to hasad, with regards to envy.

01:31:53 --> 01:31:54

Because envy

01:31:55 --> 01:31:56

will consume,

01:31:57 --> 01:31:58

a person's good deed.

01:31:58 --> 01:32:00

A person's good deeds like,

01:32:01 --> 01:32:01

fire,

01:32:02 --> 01:32:03

consumes firewood

01:32:04 --> 01:32:05

or like fire consumes

01:32:06 --> 01:32:08

a brush or twigs in a different in

01:32:08 --> 01:32:09

a different wording.

01:32:09 --> 01:32:10

The the kindling,

01:32:11 --> 01:32:13

it lights up really quickly. Right? It's gone.

01:32:13 --> 01:32:14

It's like just,

01:32:15 --> 01:32:16

it's toast real quick.

01:32:17 --> 01:32:19

Just like that, the hasid will,

01:32:19 --> 01:32:21

will eat up a person's good deeds.

01:32:21 --> 01:32:23

So take warning from that. It's a hadith

01:32:23 --> 01:32:24

of the prophet

01:32:24 --> 01:32:27

that a person can be forgiven for having

01:32:27 --> 01:32:27

jealousy,

01:32:29 --> 01:32:30

for 2 things. Right?

01:32:32 --> 01:32:33

1 is a person who

01:32:34 --> 01:32:35

Allah gave knowledge to and he teaches the

01:32:35 --> 01:32:37

people by day night and judges

01:32:38 --> 01:32:40

justly in in their disputes and in their

01:32:40 --> 01:32:42

affairs. And the second is a person who

01:32:42 --> 01:32:44

Allah gave him a huge sum of money

01:32:44 --> 01:32:45

and that person spent it in the path

01:32:45 --> 01:32:46

of Allah ta'ala.

01:32:48 --> 01:32:50

Literally, Allah ta'ala gave him authority over that

01:32:50 --> 01:32:53

wealth until he completely dissipated it all in

01:32:53 --> 01:32:53

the path of Allah

01:32:54 --> 01:32:56

ta'ala. Right? But that again, those don't mean

01:32:56 --> 01:32:59

that you wish that person to lose the

01:32:59 --> 01:33:00

the the the,

01:33:01 --> 01:33:02

the blessing.

01:33:02 --> 01:33:05

Rather, it's so awe inspiring when a person

01:33:05 --> 01:33:06

has that blessing that a person can be

01:33:06 --> 01:33:09

forgiven for wishing like I had that too.

01:33:10 --> 01:33:11

You know.

01:33:11 --> 01:33:14

Nowadays, we do that with cars but there's

01:33:14 --> 01:33:15

a part of the Ummah that used to

01:33:15 --> 01:33:18

do that with like like more important things

01:33:18 --> 01:33:19

like this.

01:33:20 --> 01:33:20

Insha'Allah,

01:33:20 --> 01:33:23

this, last chapter Insha'Allah, we'll go through and

01:33:23 --> 01:33:25

then we'll we'll we'll call it a day.

01:33:25 --> 01:33:26

This is a really important chapter,

01:33:28 --> 01:33:31

because these are these are the these are

01:33:31 --> 01:33:33

the fitna of the we live in.

01:33:33 --> 01:33:36

Every has their own fitna. This this chapter

01:33:36 --> 01:33:37

regards the fitna of our poem. So it's

01:33:37 --> 01:33:39

talking about 2 things. 1 is egomania,

01:33:40 --> 01:33:41

the worship of your nafs,

01:33:42 --> 01:33:44

like or which, you know, I think it

01:33:44 --> 01:33:46

wouldn't be a stretch to say individualism

01:33:47 --> 01:33:49

or at least, you know,

01:33:49 --> 01:33:50

pathological

01:33:50 --> 01:33:50

individualism.

01:33:52 --> 01:33:54

And the second is something that people don't

01:33:54 --> 01:33:55

even know as haram, which is the love

01:33:55 --> 01:33:58

of leadership. I taught in Islamic school,

01:33:59 --> 01:34:01

for a quarter as a substitute. K? I

01:34:01 --> 01:34:02

taught Islamic studies.

01:34:03 --> 01:34:04

And I told the kids, I said, you

01:34:04 --> 01:34:06

know, like, loving leadership

01:34:07 --> 01:34:09

is just as haram is like eating a

01:34:09 --> 01:34:09

ham sandwich.

01:34:10 --> 01:34:12

No. What if I wanna be a leader

01:34:12 --> 01:34:14

to help people? I said, you don't have

01:34:14 --> 01:34:15

to be a leader to help people. You

01:34:15 --> 01:34:16

can go clean the bathroom. Like, no. But

01:34:16 --> 01:34:18

I can do more if I'm a leader.

01:34:18 --> 01:34:20

I'm like, no. You can keep cleaning bathrooms.

01:34:20 --> 01:34:21

You can do a lot. Trust me.

01:34:22 --> 01:34:23

You don't have to be president and have

01:34:23 --> 01:34:25

a chair and order people around in order

01:34:25 --> 01:34:26

to help people. There's a lot of help

01:34:26 --> 01:34:28

that happens, meaningful help that happens before that

01:34:28 --> 01:34:29

point.

01:34:29 --> 01:34:31

And, I told them, you know, the hadith

01:34:31 --> 01:34:33

that we're gonna read now. And, like, literally,

01:34:33 --> 01:34:34

there were, like, a couple of kids that

01:34:34 --> 01:34:36

were in shock. They were, like the system

01:34:36 --> 01:34:38

was, like, trying to vomit up what they

01:34:38 --> 01:34:40

just heard because they couldn't accept it. And

01:34:40 --> 01:34:42

I'm like, okay. Don't believe me. Go ask

01:34:42 --> 01:34:44

Sheikh Khaled who's also teaching and go ask

01:34:44 --> 01:34:46

Sheikh Omar who's the principal of the school.

01:34:46 --> 01:34:48

If you think I'm like hardcore crazy guy,

01:34:49 --> 01:34:51

substitute teacher. And so they actually went, and

01:34:51 --> 01:34:53

I'm like, what did they say? Like, yeah.

01:34:53 --> 01:34:54

You're right. It's haram.

01:34:56 --> 01:34:58

So he's like 8th graders,

01:34:58 --> 01:34:59

So you one would think think that they've

01:34:59 --> 01:35:01

got them get the memo by then, but

01:35:01 --> 01:35:03

they don't. And part of it is because

01:35:03 --> 01:35:04

people don't know. Part of it is because

01:35:04 --> 01:35:06

people know, but they don't really take it

01:35:06 --> 01:35:08

seriously. I mean, it's really haram. It's like,

01:35:09 --> 01:35:10

you know less of a sin to walk

01:35:10 --> 01:35:12

into the masjid with a beard

01:35:12 --> 01:35:14

than to walk into the masjid thinking I

01:35:14 --> 01:35:15

should be president.

01:35:17 --> 01:35:18

I should be imam.

01:35:18 --> 01:35:20

I should be the sheikh. I should give

01:35:20 --> 01:35:20

the khutbah.

01:35:21 --> 01:35:23

This is all like shaitan type stuff.

01:35:29 --> 01:35:31

This is all shaitan type talk. This is

01:35:31 --> 01:35:31

all shaitani

01:35:34 --> 01:35:36

attributes that a person walks in with. But,

01:35:36 --> 01:35:38

you know, go figure. These are the things

01:35:38 --> 01:35:40

we teach our kids. We people teach their

01:35:40 --> 01:35:42

kids. This is so horrible. We you know,

01:35:43 --> 01:35:45

like, oh, you're gonna be a leader. You're

01:35:45 --> 01:35:46

after this. Walk into the room, and you

01:35:46 --> 01:35:47

should be the one who this. You should

01:35:47 --> 01:35:49

run for this, run for that, and blah

01:35:49 --> 01:35:50

blah blah. And

01:35:51 --> 01:35:53

look, there is

01:35:54 --> 01:35:57

something praiseworthy like Sayidna Yusuf alaihi Islam.

01:35:58 --> 01:36:00

He said he explained to the king that

01:36:00 --> 01:36:01

there's going to be this problem and I

01:36:01 --> 01:36:02

can help you solve it.

01:36:03 --> 01:36:05

Right? But there's a difference between that and

01:36:05 --> 01:36:07

walking in the room and thinking you're better

01:36:07 --> 01:36:08

than other people. You have an

01:36:09 --> 01:36:10

innate like offering to help has is different

01:36:10 --> 01:36:13

than having feeling you have an innate superiority

01:36:13 --> 01:36:14

in front of other people.

01:36:14 --> 01:36:17

Sidi Ahmad Rifa'i, who's one of the great

01:36:17 --> 01:36:19

of the, of Tasawwuf,

01:36:20 --> 01:36:22

he said this he said this in, Mona

01:36:22 --> 01:36:23

Asherfa'ali Tanwi

01:36:23 --> 01:36:26

really was impressed with the saying of his.

01:36:26 --> 01:36:28

He said he said in his gathering, majlis,

01:36:28 --> 01:36:31

probably hundreds of people are there. He said

01:36:31 --> 01:36:33

that he said that I I I I

01:36:33 --> 01:36:35

would be raised on the day of judgment

01:36:35 --> 01:36:36

with Firaun and Haman.

01:36:38 --> 01:36:39

I would be raised on the day of

01:36:39 --> 01:36:41

judgment with Firaun and Haman if I felt

01:36:41 --> 01:36:44

in my heart that I was better than

01:36:44 --> 01:36:45

anyone in this in this room.

01:36:48 --> 01:36:49

Those are strong words. If I were you,

01:36:49 --> 01:36:52

I wouldn't say them. I definitely wouldn't have.

01:36:52 --> 01:36:54

But those are people, these are genuine states

01:36:54 --> 01:36:56

that passed over their heart

01:36:56 --> 01:36:58

because of the

01:36:58 --> 01:37:00

the bitter and difficult struggles that they did

01:37:00 --> 01:37:02

in order to engender these qualities into inside

01:37:02 --> 01:37:03

of themselves.

01:37:04 --> 01:37:06

Person shouldn't look at another person and think

01:37:06 --> 01:37:08

that they're better than them. It's a complete

01:37:08 --> 01:37:10

sickness. It's and the idea that you're so

01:37:10 --> 01:37:11

much better that you have the right to

01:37:11 --> 01:37:14

be some sort of leader because that's, like,

01:37:14 --> 01:37:17

completely and totally a 100% bogus. And it's

01:37:17 --> 01:37:19

it's a sign that something's very wrong, and

01:37:19 --> 01:37:20

it's very haram.

01:37:21 --> 01:37:22

I don't know how to say that, you

01:37:22 --> 01:37:23

know, because people are like, yeah. Normal haram

01:37:23 --> 01:37:25

stuff. I do it all the time. No.

01:37:25 --> 01:37:26

This is like one of the things that

01:37:26 --> 01:37:27

will completely sink your ship.

01:37:29 --> 01:37:30

Allah most high said,

01:37:40 --> 01:37:41

Allah says in his book,

01:37:42 --> 01:37:44

this is the, or that's the abode of

01:37:44 --> 01:37:46

the afirah, we made it for those who

01:37:46 --> 01:37:48

don't wish to exalt themselves in the earth

01:37:48 --> 01:37:49

nor to cause mischief.

01:37:50 --> 01:37:50

And

01:37:51 --> 01:37:53

in the end, the people who fear Allah

01:37:53 --> 01:37:55

Ta'ala will come out on top.

01:37:55 --> 01:37:57

And Allah Most High said,

01:37:58 --> 01:38:00

walatam shifil ardi maraha.

01:38:01 --> 01:38:03

He said, don't walk in the earth in

01:38:03 --> 01:38:04

ex exuberance.

01:38:05 --> 01:38:07

No swagger, Texas or otherwise.

01:38:13 --> 01:38:15

Rather Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to walk

01:38:15 --> 01:38:16

very humbly.

01:38:17 --> 01:38:19

His walk was very functional Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam

01:38:19 --> 01:38:21

because the people in Jahiliya used to like

01:38:21 --> 01:38:23

walk like you're a big man, you know,

01:38:23 --> 01:38:26

in order to be seen. Whereas Rasoolullah Sallallahu

01:38:26 --> 01:38:28

Alaihi Wasallam, he used to his head was

01:38:28 --> 01:38:30

tilted forward and his gait was tilted forward

01:38:30 --> 01:38:32

and he would walk really fast as if

01:38:32 --> 01:38:34

he's walking downhill wherever he walked.

01:38:34 --> 01:38:36

Because he knew where he was going so

01:38:36 --> 01:38:38

he got there quickly. Whereas if you're just

01:38:38 --> 01:38:40

along for the ride, there's no real point

01:38:40 --> 01:38:40

to what you're doing,

01:38:41 --> 01:38:41

then,

01:38:42 --> 01:38:44

you know, then you're you're just showing off.

01:38:46 --> 01:38:48

So don't walk in the earth in exuberance.

01:38:49 --> 01:38:51

And Allah most high said,

01:39:11 --> 01:39:13

He says, don't raise your face with contempt

01:39:13 --> 01:39:14

for others,

01:39:14 --> 01:39:16

nor romp about in the earth in exuberance.

01:39:17 --> 01:39:19

Verily Allah loves not those who are conceited

01:39:19 --> 01:39:20

in vain.

01:39:21 --> 01:39:23

Meaning what? Meaning thinking you're better than other

01:39:23 --> 01:39:24

people.

01:39:27 --> 01:39:28

These people are voters, and these people are

01:39:28 --> 01:39:30

kaffirs, and these people are fasak, and these

01:39:30 --> 01:39:32

people are stupid, and these people are uneducated,

01:39:33 --> 01:39:35

and these people are tacky, and these people

01:39:35 --> 01:39:37

are not fashionable, and these people are this,

01:39:37 --> 01:39:39

and those people are that, and these people

01:39:39 --> 01:39:41

are, you know, of a different race, and

01:39:41 --> 01:39:43

these people are immigrants, and these people are

01:39:43 --> 01:39:45

God knows what. Right? People have all of

01:39:45 --> 01:39:47

these weird things they put in their stories

01:39:47 --> 01:39:49

they tell themselves and things that they put

01:39:49 --> 01:39:50

inside of their head. The same thing that

01:39:50 --> 01:39:51

shaitan and Iblis

01:39:52 --> 01:39:53

put inside of his head when he saw,

01:39:53 --> 01:39:55

Sayna Adam alayhis salaam.

01:39:56 --> 01:39:58

And that was a big mistake. It cost

01:39:58 --> 01:40:00

him everlasting life. He's gonna go to the

01:40:00 --> 01:40:02

hellfire for it forever. So don't make the

01:40:02 --> 01:40:05

same mistake. Because the sadhu almulwur elabireihi, the

01:40:05 --> 01:40:06

happy one is the one who learns a

01:40:06 --> 01:40:08

lesson from other people's,

01:40:09 --> 01:40:10

other people's

01:40:10 --> 01:40:11

misfortunes.

01:40:12 --> 01:40:14

And Allah ta'ala said in his book,

01:41:33 --> 01:41:34

This is the story of one of

01:41:35 --> 01:41:38

the classical villains of the book of Allah

01:41:39 --> 01:41:42

Qarun, who was not Egyptian. He was from

01:41:42 --> 01:41:42

Banu Israel.

01:41:43 --> 01:41:44

And he was a man of knowledge. And

01:41:44 --> 01:41:46

he was a man of power and strength.

01:41:49 --> 01:41:51

Verily, qarun was from the people of Musa

01:41:51 --> 01:41:53

and he committed excesses against them. We gave

01:41:53 --> 01:41:55

him such treasure that just lifting the keys

01:41:55 --> 01:41:57

of its strain the mighty.

01:41:57 --> 01:41:59

Musa said to his people, do not rejoice

01:41:59 --> 01:42:01

pointlessly at the sight of his wealth because

01:42:01 --> 01:42:03

Allah Ta'ala does not love those who rejoice

01:42:03 --> 01:42:05

so. And seek out that which Allah has

01:42:05 --> 01:42:07

prepared for you from in the abode of

01:42:07 --> 01:42:08

the hereafter

01:42:08 --> 01:42:10

and forget not your portion of this world.

01:42:11 --> 01:42:13

By the way, just seek out what Allah

01:42:13 --> 01:42:15

ta'ala appointed for you in the hereafter and

01:42:15 --> 01:42:17

don't forget your portion of this world. People,

01:42:17 --> 01:42:20

tahrifan, you know one thing is to change

01:42:20 --> 01:42:22

the Quran and its words. It is protected

01:42:22 --> 01:42:23

from that. Someone will try, they will fail.

01:42:24 --> 01:42:26

People another tahrif they do is to try

01:42:26 --> 01:42:27

to change the meaning of the same words.

01:42:27 --> 01:42:29

They say, see, look, Allah Ta'al is in

01:42:29 --> 01:42:31

his book. Seek what Allah Ta'al has prepared

01:42:31 --> 01:42:32

for you from the akhirah, but don't forget

01:42:32 --> 01:42:35

your your portion of this world. Meaning work

01:42:35 --> 01:42:35

for both of them.

01:42:37 --> 01:42:40

No actually the tafsir of this, don't forget

01:42:40 --> 01:42:42

your portion of this world is what?

01:42:42 --> 01:42:44

Your kafan. That's the only part of this

01:42:44 --> 01:42:45

world you are going to take with you

01:42:45 --> 01:42:45

in

01:42:48 --> 01:42:50

the grave. This is a misunderstanding people

01:42:53 --> 01:42:55

promote. Tell me the hadith of the prophet

01:42:56 --> 01:42:57

is that one of the sahaba

01:42:57 --> 01:42:58

in

01:42:59 --> 01:43:01

the battle of Uhud. He's sitting eating a

01:43:01 --> 01:43:03

bunch of dates, and he says, you Rasool

01:43:03 --> 01:43:04

Allah, what will I receive,

01:43:05 --> 01:43:06

if I die in the path of Allah.

01:43:06 --> 01:43:08

He says, we'll go straight to Jannah. He

01:43:08 --> 01:43:10

says, really? He says, yeah. And he didn't

01:43:10 --> 01:43:12

even finish eating the bunch of dates that

01:43:12 --> 01:43:13

he was eating. He ran into battle and

01:43:13 --> 01:43:14

he was shayid fisabilillah.

01:43:15 --> 01:43:16

Tell me what what type of balance was

01:43:16 --> 01:43:17

he making?

01:43:20 --> 01:43:22

There are so many, so many

01:43:22 --> 01:43:26

examples and instances of the Sahaba completely putting

01:43:26 --> 01:43:28

their akhirah over their dunya.

01:43:28 --> 01:43:31

Said, Abdullah bin Mas'rud radiAllahu ta'ala anhu. He

01:43:31 --> 01:43:33

refused to take a pension from the state.

01:43:34 --> 01:43:35

Even though he was the one of the

01:43:35 --> 01:43:37

veterans of the battle of the Badr, the

01:43:37 --> 01:43:39

highest pay grade in the in the in

01:43:39 --> 01:43:42

the caliphate during the time of who

01:43:42 --> 01:43:43

refused to take a pension from the state

01:43:43 --> 01:43:45

because he said I did everything for the

01:43:45 --> 01:43:47

sake of Allah ta'ala. I don't wanna receive

01:43:47 --> 01:43:49

any reward for it. And there wouldn't have

01:43:49 --> 01:43:52

been any uh-uh uh-uh any aib

01:43:53 --> 01:43:54

or or or or stain on his honor

01:43:54 --> 01:43:56

had he taken it. The other sahabah radiAllahuhan

01:43:56 --> 01:43:57

whom were taking it.

01:43:59 --> 01:44:01

They said, just sign your name in the

01:44:01 --> 01:44:02

diwan, in the exchequer.

01:44:03 --> 01:44:05

Don't take your pension but after you die

01:44:05 --> 01:44:07

at least your daughters can take the money

01:44:07 --> 01:44:08

and live off of it. So why should

01:44:08 --> 01:44:09

they take the money out and live off

01:44:09 --> 01:44:11

of it? I already taught them the Surah

01:44:11 --> 01:44:12

Al Wa Ta'ala.

01:44:13 --> 01:44:16

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said whoever recites Suratul

01:44:16 --> 01:44:18

Wafi daily, Allah Ta'ala will protect them from

01:44:18 --> 01:44:19

poverty. He said I already taught them the

01:44:19 --> 01:44:21

Suratul Wafi. Why do I need to sign

01:44:21 --> 01:44:22

up a pension for them?

01:44:25 --> 01:44:27

That doesn't make sense. You say, no.

01:44:27 --> 01:44:29

Adwa bin Mas'ud, you are being extremist.

01:44:30 --> 01:44:32

Don't you know the Quran says, walatan sanasiba

01:44:32 --> 01:44:33

kiminadunya?

01:44:34 --> 01:44:36

But that's not the meaning of it. The

01:44:36 --> 01:44:36

meaning

01:44:37 --> 01:44:38

of is take as much as you want

01:44:38 --> 01:44:39

or as little as you want. The only

01:44:39 --> 01:44:41

thing you're gonna keep with you in your

01:44:41 --> 01:44:43

grave is what? The the the the shroud

01:44:43 --> 01:44:44

that you're you're buried

01:44:45 --> 01:44:45

in. So,

01:44:47 --> 01:44:49

say the Musa is reminding his calm. He

01:44:49 --> 01:44:51

says, seek that what Allah Ta'ala has prepared

01:44:51 --> 01:44:52

for you in the in the abode of

01:44:52 --> 01:44:53

the hereafter.

01:44:53 --> 01:44:55

And don't forget what your portion of this

01:44:55 --> 01:44:56

world is. That nothing of it will come

01:44:56 --> 01:44:58

with you except for your shroud.

01:45:01 --> 01:45:03

And be good to others as they were

01:45:03 --> 01:45:04

good to you.

01:45:05 --> 01:45:05

And do not

01:45:07 --> 01:45:09

make mischief in the land for verily Allah

01:45:09 --> 01:45:10

loves not mischief makers.

01:45:11 --> 01:45:13

Qarun said, 'I wasn't given this

01:45:14 --> 01:45:16

treasure except for due to the knowledge I

01:45:16 --> 01:45:18

have. Again, it's a very shaitan like thing

01:45:18 --> 01:45:18

to say.

01:45:19 --> 01:45:21

Does he not know that Allah had created

01:45:21 --> 01:45:23

the generations who came before him, who were

01:45:23 --> 01:45:25

more severe in their might and greater in

01:45:25 --> 01:45:28

their amassing of wealth, and that those criminals

01:45:28 --> 01:45:30

were not even asked about their sins before

01:45:30 --> 01:45:32

being wiped out? So he went out in

01:45:32 --> 01:45:33

front of his people in all of his

01:45:33 --> 01:45:33

beauty.

01:45:34 --> 01:45:35

This is the thing. People we see that.

01:45:35 --> 01:45:37

We see people who are wealthy

01:45:37 --> 01:45:39

or we see people who have a very,

01:45:39 --> 01:45:40

like, showoff y mansab and we're like, oh,

01:45:40 --> 01:45:42

this is we're so impressed with that. We're

01:45:42 --> 01:45:44

so impressed with that. The person who's silently

01:45:45 --> 01:45:46

working with sincerity,

01:45:46 --> 01:45:48

we're like, oh, this person is

01:45:49 --> 01:45:50

person, you know.

01:45:51 --> 01:45:53

Who would wanna be like that? But we

01:45:53 --> 01:45:55

get real impressed by, oh, look, such and

01:45:55 --> 01:45:58

such people as, you know, he's a Hafiz,

01:45:58 --> 01:46:00

and he drives a Mercedes Benz. Right? You

01:46:00 --> 01:46:02

don't care about the hips. You just care

01:46:02 --> 01:46:02

about the Benz.

01:46:04 --> 01:46:06

Right? It's like, okay. That's 8 95% of

01:46:06 --> 01:46:08

the if it is that you're impressed with

01:46:08 --> 01:46:09

their wealth and like, oh, yeah. He did

01:46:09 --> 01:46:10

hips too. That's pretty cool.

01:46:11 --> 01:46:13

Right? So So he went out in front

01:46:13 --> 01:46:14

of his people and all of his beauty.

01:46:14 --> 01:46:16

Those who desired the life of this world

01:46:16 --> 01:46:16

marveled.

01:46:17 --> 01:46:19

Would that we had the likes of what

01:46:19 --> 01:46:21

Karun was given. Indeed he has been allotted

01:46:21 --> 01:46:22

a great portion.

01:46:27 --> 01:46:29

Those who were given true knowledge said to

01:46:29 --> 01:46:31

them, woe unto you, the reward of Allah

01:46:31 --> 01:46:33

is better for he who believes in works

01:46:33 --> 01:46:34

righteousness,

01:46:34 --> 01:46:37

none shall receive it other than the patient.

01:46:37 --> 01:46:39

And then one day we cause the earth

01:46:39 --> 01:46:41

to swallow him up in his house with

01:46:41 --> 01:46:41

him.

01:46:43 --> 01:46:45

And so those people who yesterday were like,

01:46:45 --> 01:46:47

oh, look how amazing this qarun is. They

01:46:47 --> 01:46:48

said

01:46:48 --> 01:46:50

they said what? They said like,

01:46:51 --> 01:46:53

will be unto you.

01:46:54 --> 01:46:56

Had it not been for the favor of

01:46:56 --> 01:46:58

Allah and the grace of Allah, we would

01:46:58 --> 01:47:00

have also been swallowed up into the earth.

01:47:02 --> 01:47:04

Woe be unto you. Allah ta'ala doesn't give

01:47:04 --> 01:47:06

success to the people of zul, to the

01:47:06 --> 01:47:07

people of transgression.

01:47:09 --> 01:47:10

So don't,

01:47:11 --> 01:47:14

don't mistake, you know, that that that takabur

01:47:14 --> 01:47:16

and that that that that arrogance and that

01:47:16 --> 01:47:18

thinking of being your that one is better

01:47:18 --> 01:47:20

than other people and that they deserve

01:47:20 --> 01:47:21

leadership.

01:47:22 --> 01:47:24

Don't think that just because someone has knowledge

01:47:24 --> 01:47:27

or whatever, that they can sustain having that

01:47:27 --> 01:47:28

feeling as well except for that feeling is

01:47:28 --> 01:47:30

not going to destroy all the good things

01:47:30 --> 01:47:31

that they have.

01:47:31 --> 01:47:33

Even they do have good things.

01:47:34 --> 01:47:35

It comes in the athaar that,

01:47:36 --> 01:47:36

shaitan,

01:47:38 --> 01:47:38

there wasn't

01:47:39 --> 01:47:40

a hands breadth worth of space in the

01:47:40 --> 01:47:43

heavens except for he had made sajdah to

01:47:43 --> 01:47:43

Allah

01:47:44 --> 01:47:45

in it.

01:47:46 --> 01:47:47

His knowledge was such. His knowledge of Allah

01:47:47 --> 01:47:49

ta'ala was more perfect than yours and mine.

01:47:51 --> 01:47:53

But it didn't help him. This one fault

01:47:53 --> 01:47:55

inside of him consumed all of those other

01:47:55 --> 01:47:57

good things that he had and destroyed them.

01:48:30 --> 01:48:32

So we have these 4 hadiths left and

01:48:32 --> 01:48:33

we're out of time.

01:48:34 --> 01:48:35

Does anyone have an objection if we just

01:48:35 --> 01:48:37

finish these 4 hadiths and finish this bab

01:48:37 --> 01:48:38

insha Allah before

01:48:40 --> 01:48:41

going? It's okay if you raise your hand.

01:48:41 --> 01:48:43

I'll just end the class. I'm not gonna

01:48:43 --> 01:48:45

like browbeat you or harass you or accuse

01:48:45 --> 01:48:46

you of having a disease of the heart

01:48:46 --> 01:48:47

or anything.

01:48:50 --> 01:48:50

Inshallah.

01:48:51 --> 01:48:51

That

01:48:52 --> 01:48:54

said, Abdul Abin Masood

01:48:54 --> 01:48:56

narrates, this is a hadith, you should circle

01:48:56 --> 01:48:58

it. This is like one of the qawa'id

01:48:58 --> 01:48:58

of deen.

01:48:59 --> 01:49:00

This is one of the foundations

01:49:00 --> 01:49:02

of deen this hadith is.

01:49:05 --> 01:49:06

That the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa

01:49:06 --> 01:49:09

sallam said, no one will enter Jannah who

01:49:09 --> 01:49:10

has even

01:49:10 --> 01:49:12

a small grain worth of of

01:49:13 --> 01:49:16

of weight, a mustard seed worth of weight

01:49:16 --> 01:49:18

of arrogance inside of his heart. This is

01:49:18 --> 01:49:19

really small.

01:49:22 --> 01:49:25

A man said, You Rasool Allah, uh-uh what

01:49:25 --> 01:49:26

do you say about a man who loves

01:49:26 --> 01:49:29

to, that loves to wear beautiful clothes and

01:49:29 --> 01:49:31

loves that his shoes be beautiful?

01:49:32 --> 01:49:32

Rasoolullah

01:49:33 --> 01:49:35

said, Allah Ta'ala is beautiful and he loves

01:49:35 --> 01:49:35

beauty.

01:49:36 --> 01:49:37

Nothing wrong with looking nice.

01:49:38 --> 01:49:39

That's not arrogance.

01:49:40 --> 01:49:42

Rather arrogance is in 2 things. 1 is

01:49:42 --> 01:49:44

when the haqqas said to you that you

01:49:44 --> 01:49:46

you try to refute it or you say

01:49:46 --> 01:49:47

like get lost. Why are you telling this?

01:49:48 --> 01:49:51

Someone tells you the truth and you're like

01:49:51 --> 01:49:53

get lost. You don't wanna hear it. Or

01:49:53 --> 01:49:55

you try to argue against it because it

01:49:55 --> 01:49:57

goes against what your ego wants. And the

01:49:57 --> 01:49:58

second thing is what?

01:49:59 --> 01:50:01

To belittle people. To think that you're you're

01:50:01 --> 01:50:03

important and other people are not important. It

01:50:03 --> 01:50:05

doesn't matter. Street sweepers, cleaners. I'll just look

01:50:05 --> 01:50:07

look to look at other people and think

01:50:07 --> 01:50:10

that they're like unimportant and you're important. This

01:50:10 --> 01:50:11

is even a the smallest amount of it,

01:50:11 --> 01:50:13

it will enter into your heart. You won't

01:50:13 --> 01:50:15

enter Jannah. 'Abdu'lama say that what? That such

01:50:15 --> 01:50:17

a person imagine they say la ilaha illallah.

01:50:17 --> 01:50:19

They're not going to go to * forever.

01:50:19 --> 01:50:21

They'll go long enough for this for this

01:50:22 --> 01:50:23

trait to be burned out of them.

01:50:25 --> 01:50:27

Isn't it better that a person should cleanse

01:50:27 --> 01:50:28

themselves of it in this world so that

01:50:28 --> 01:50:29

they don't have to see the fire?

01:50:31 --> 01:50:33

Allah to Allah be our protection. This is

01:50:33 --> 01:50:35

a really serious thing. This is something there's

01:50:35 --> 01:50:37

very little sensitivity or very high sensitivity and

01:50:37 --> 01:50:38

very little

01:50:39 --> 01:50:41

purview for getting away with things like these.

01:50:41 --> 01:50:42

These things have to be purged from a

01:50:42 --> 01:50:45

person while they're alive in this world. Otherwise,

01:50:45 --> 01:50:46

it was gonna be very painful in the

01:50:46 --> 01:50:47

hereafter.

01:50:47 --> 01:50:49

And it's easy. You're a person to remind

01:50:49 --> 01:50:51

themself or a person to remind themselves that

01:50:51 --> 01:50:53

they're no better than anyone else. Your body

01:50:53 --> 01:50:55

at any time could fail. You're going to

01:50:55 --> 01:50:57

rot. You're going to shrink. You're gonna become

01:50:57 --> 01:50:59

putrid inside of your grave.

01:50:59 --> 01:51:01

Someone said, what about the oliya? I said,

01:51:01 --> 01:51:02

the oliya are the ones who thought about

01:51:02 --> 01:51:03

it more than you did to the point

01:51:03 --> 01:51:06

where they weren't arrogant over other people?

01:51:09 --> 01:51:11

They're the ones who thought about it more

01:51:11 --> 01:51:13

than anybody else. That's why Allah preserved

01:51:16 --> 01:51:17

them.

01:51:37 --> 01:51:39

So this is a hadith narrated by Salmatullah

01:51:40 --> 01:51:41

Aqwa, the hero

01:51:41 --> 01:51:42

of the Ansar.

01:51:42 --> 01:51:44

He was a great warrior in

01:51:45 --> 01:51:47

battle. The stories of his exploits, we don't

01:51:47 --> 01:51:48

have time to go over, but they're pretty

01:51:48 --> 01:51:50

awesome. You can read them at some other

01:51:50 --> 01:51:50

time.

01:51:51 --> 01:51:53

That a man ate in front of the

01:51:53 --> 01:51:55

messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam with

01:51:55 --> 01:51:57

his left hand and Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi

01:51:57 --> 01:51:59

wa sallam told him eat with his eat

01:51:59 --> 01:52:01

with your right. And he says I'm not

01:52:01 --> 01:52:01

able to.

01:52:02 --> 01:52:04

But he didn't say that except for because

01:52:04 --> 01:52:06

he didn't wanna listen to what the messenger

01:52:06 --> 01:52:07

of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was saying

01:52:07 --> 01:52:09

and he didn't take it seriously. Just out

01:52:09 --> 01:52:11

of arrogance, he's like, yeah. I I can't

01:52:11 --> 01:52:12

use my right hand. So the prophet salallahu

01:52:12 --> 01:52:14

alaihi wa sallam said, When

01:52:15 --> 01:52:16

you use la with the form of the

01:52:16 --> 01:52:18

past tense, it means may may it never

01:52:18 --> 01:52:19

happen.

01:52:20 --> 01:52:20

So

01:52:21 --> 01:52:24

majalasa means he didn't sit. Lajalasa says it

01:52:24 --> 01:52:25

means he'll never sit.

01:52:26 --> 01:52:27

Alright. So lastatata,

01:52:27 --> 01:52:29

you'll never be able to. And after that

01:52:29 --> 01:52:31

his right hand was crippled. He wasn't able

01:52:31 --> 01:52:33

to lift it to his lift it again

01:52:33 --> 01:52:34

after that day.

01:52:39 --> 01:52:41

Why? Because he didn't say that to the

01:52:41 --> 01:52:41

messenger of Allah

01:52:42 --> 01:52:43

except for out of

01:52:45 --> 01:52:45

arrogance.

01:53:21 --> 01:53:23

Sayna Abu Sayna al Khudri narrates a very

01:53:23 --> 01:53:24

interesting hadith.

01:53:25 --> 01:53:27

That Jannah and Jahannam will get into an

01:53:27 --> 01:53:28

argument.

01:53:30 --> 01:53:32

And Jahannam will say,

01:53:32 --> 01:53:34

in me are the tyrants

01:53:36 --> 01:53:37

and all the big shots.

01:53:39 --> 01:53:40

Meaning what? All the people in your ears

01:53:40 --> 01:53:43

like the like the little beggars and like

01:53:43 --> 01:53:43

the nobodies.

01:53:44 --> 01:53:45

And Jahannam will say all the big shots

01:53:45 --> 01:53:48

and the tyrants, they're powerful people. They're all

01:53:48 --> 01:53:49

they're all

01:53:49 --> 01:53:52

here. And so allata will settle their disputes.

01:53:53 --> 01:53:55

The Jannah will say with me is only

01:53:55 --> 01:53:57

who is only the the weak and the,

01:53:57 --> 01:53:58

the the indigent.

01:53:59 --> 01:54:01

So Allah will settle their settle their their

01:54:01 --> 01:54:02

their argument.

01:54:02 --> 01:54:05

And he will say to Jannah, indeed you

01:54:05 --> 01:54:05

are Jannah.

01:54:06 --> 01:54:07

You are my mercy.

01:54:08 --> 01:54:09

I have mercy upon

01:54:10 --> 01:54:11

whoever I will through you.

01:54:12 --> 01:54:13

And he says to the fire, you are

01:54:13 --> 01:54:16

my torment, and I torment through you whoever

01:54:16 --> 01:54:17

I will.

01:54:19 --> 01:54:21

And both of you can expect from me

01:54:21 --> 01:54:22

to be filled up by me.

01:54:23 --> 01:54:25

So the idea is what? Being a big

01:54:25 --> 01:54:25

shot.

01:54:26 --> 01:54:28

Obviously, there'll be powerful people and important people

01:54:28 --> 01:54:29

in Jannah as well.

01:54:31 --> 01:54:33

Soleiman alayhi salam, Dawood alayhi salam, they're kings.

01:54:34 --> 01:54:36

But generally the big shots will be where?

01:54:37 --> 01:54:39

In the smoking section.

01:54:42 --> 01:54:44

Right? So don't just look at being a

01:54:44 --> 01:54:46

big shot and think, oh, that's amazing.

01:54:47 --> 01:54:48

Because statistically,

01:54:49 --> 01:54:50

it's more precarious.

01:54:53 --> 01:54:54

And then the last hadith,

01:55:16 --> 01:55:17

who also narrated

01:55:18 --> 01:55:19

that there are 3

01:55:20 --> 01:55:22

that Allah will not speak to them on

01:55:22 --> 01:55:22

the day of judgment,

01:55:23 --> 01:55:24

and he will not purify them,

01:55:26 --> 01:55:28

absolve them of their the the guilt of

01:55:28 --> 01:55:30

their sins and he will not

01:55:30 --> 01:55:32

look at them. Meaning what? Allah sees everything,

01:55:32 --> 01:55:34

but he's not gonna pay attention

01:55:34 --> 01:55:36

to any any of the their requests. They're

01:55:36 --> 01:55:38

not gonna be entertained.

01:55:39 --> 01:55:41

And they will they they they can expect

01:55:41 --> 01:55:42

a painful torment.

01:55:43 --> 01:55:45

Sheikh Hunzan, an old man who commits in

01:55:45 --> 01:55:46

a.

01:55:46 --> 01:55:48

Why? It's bad enough when a young man

01:55:48 --> 01:55:50

commits zina. Person becomes an old man, his

01:55:50 --> 01:55:51

body has become weak.

01:55:52 --> 01:55:55

The act of rebellion against Allah ta'ala, there's

01:55:55 --> 01:55:56

it's a more pure act of rebellion against

01:55:56 --> 01:56:00

allah ta'ala because he's not driven by driven

01:56:00 --> 01:56:03

by his his physical impulses. Rather this is

01:56:03 --> 01:56:04

just something he really wants to wants to

01:56:04 --> 01:56:05

do that badly.

01:56:06 --> 01:56:07

The second is what?

01:56:08 --> 01:56:09

A king who lies.

01:56:10 --> 01:56:12

Why? Because generally, why do people lie? Because

01:56:12 --> 01:56:13

they're afraid of consequences.

01:56:14 --> 01:56:15

If you're the king, there are no consequences.

01:56:16 --> 01:56:18

In the old days, now we have like

01:56:18 --> 01:56:19

constitutional monarchies.

01:56:20 --> 01:56:22

These are just like a little doll playhouse

01:56:22 --> 01:56:23

version of monarchy.

01:56:24 --> 01:56:26

Actual monarchy is like absolute.

01:56:27 --> 01:56:29

You do what you want. There's no court

01:56:29 --> 01:56:31

that, like, you know, if the judge tries

01:56:31 --> 01:56:32

to rule against you, cut his head off

01:56:32 --> 01:56:34

and fling it over the palace wall and,

01:56:34 --> 01:56:36

you know the next judge probably won't say

01:56:36 --> 01:56:37

anything to you.

01:56:39 --> 01:56:42

So if a person still lies, it's a

01:56:42 --> 01:56:43

very pure act of rebellion.

01:56:44 --> 01:56:46

And the third is what? A ilun mustaqber.

01:56:46 --> 01:56:49

A broke person who is still arrogant.

01:56:49 --> 01:56:50

Now good news for all of us, we're

01:56:50 --> 01:56:51

all broke.

01:56:52 --> 01:56:53

I know you're really proud of your Honda

01:56:53 --> 01:56:55

Accord and Toyota Camry that you have.

01:56:56 --> 01:56:56

You're broke.

01:56:58 --> 01:57:00

You know? You're like, well, maybe one day

01:57:00 --> 01:57:01

I'll make a $100,000

01:57:01 --> 01:57:03

a year. You're not even in, like, the,

01:57:03 --> 01:57:06

like, 2nd highest tax bracket. You're not anywhere

01:57:06 --> 01:57:06

close.

01:57:07 --> 01:57:09

Real money. You think a $1,000,000 is a

01:57:09 --> 01:57:10

lot of money? You're broke.

01:57:11 --> 01:57:11

Right?

01:57:12 --> 01:57:14

Actual wealth is something that you and I

01:57:14 --> 01:57:16

can't imagine. So we have really no reason

01:57:16 --> 01:57:18

to be arrogant because we're,

01:57:18 --> 01:57:19

mashaAllah,

01:57:19 --> 01:57:21

a hand's breath away from poverty. Allah has

01:57:21 --> 01:57:22

given us a lot more than a lot

01:57:22 --> 01:57:24

of people what they have, but we're not

01:57:24 --> 01:57:26

that rich. Alhamdulillah. By Allah

01:57:27 --> 01:57:29

So be thankful for what you have

01:57:29 --> 01:57:31

and don't let it get to your head.

01:57:31 --> 01:57:33

Why? Because a broke person who is arrogant

01:57:33 --> 01:57:35

is even more detestable in front of Allah

01:57:35 --> 01:57:37

ta'ala than a person who their wealth is

01:57:37 --> 01:57:39

and their power is a fitna for them

01:57:39 --> 01:57:40

and they became arrogant because of

01:57:41 --> 01:57:43

that. And this happens sometimes some people they

01:57:43 --> 01:57:45

just they have nothing and they think their

01:57:45 --> 01:57:46

everything is completely

01:57:47 --> 01:57:49

a sign of the facade of the nafs.

01:57:49 --> 01:57:51

Allah gave you a a bet more better

01:57:51 --> 01:57:54

chance than anyone else that you can humble

01:57:54 --> 01:57:55

yourself in front of him. You didn't take

01:57:55 --> 01:57:57

it. That's a really bad thing. Allah protect

01:57:57 --> 01:57:58

all of us from from that.

01:57:59 --> 01:58:01

Reward you for your patience and listening.

01:58:03 --> 01:58:04

Again, I don't know if we'll be able

01:58:04 --> 01:58:06

to complete. Although the first

01:58:07 --> 01:58:09

the first 3 or 4 lessons are much

01:58:09 --> 01:58:11

longer than the last ones. So we may

01:58:11 --> 01:58:13

be able to let's see.

01:58:13 --> 01:58:15

Out of how many pages?

01:58:19 --> 01:58:19

So

01:58:20 --> 01:58:23

from 6 to 27 is 11 pages.

01:58:24 --> 01:58:25

So that's, like, 5 and a half pages

01:58:25 --> 01:58:25

a day.

01:58:28 --> 01:58:30

So, yeah, we probably won't finish,

01:58:30 --> 01:58:31

but,

01:58:32 --> 01:58:34

we'll get about 3 quarters of the way

01:58:34 --> 01:58:34

through

01:58:35 --> 01:58:36

and then MMZ

01:58:36 --> 01:58:38

all the way. You know me.

01:58:40 --> 01:58:41

Are there any questions?
