Meaningful Ramadan #04 – The Past is gone

Brothers and sisters, the past is the past.

This Ramadan, I want you to take a moment and reflect on all of the past things that have happened that have hurt you that have upset you that have caused you regret. And what do you do with this past history? This month, this time? Take the opportunity to concentrate on what needs to happen in the future. How do you become better as a person and as a Muslim? leave the past behind you. This is something that Allah subhanaw taala highlights throughout the Quran. And one of the ways it's done is Allah constantly telling us to seek his forgiveness. Why? Because we're always going to do things that we're upset about that we're going to regret. So the way to recover from that is seek Allah's

forgiveness. Ask Allah especially in this month, to forgive you to have mercy on you. And to allow that whatever happened in the past to be left there, where Allah subhanaw taala can erase and wipe out all of the things that we regret, all of the mistakes that we made in sudut. Earlier Imran one of the doors that we make to Allah subhanho wa Taala is we asked him subhanho wa Taala what kept Farah Anna say, Tina, that Allah azza wa jal, we asked him to bury and cover up our previous sins, our previous mistakes. The language here is critical because it highlights that everything that's happened, not only will Allah forgive us, but that history will be erased and wiped away. So that's

the kind of thing where nobody will look at you or talk to you and associate your past with you anymore. They themselves would have moved on, they would appreciate the new you they would appreciate the person that you have become, and they would look forward to continuing to get to know the person in front of them. The past matters to no one anymore. That's one of the things that we want to achieve in this blessed month of shuddered Mubarak and I pray that Allah subhanho wa Taala blesses all of us that opportunity. Allahumma
