of this disease? How do we monitor the level of our heart? The Quran and Sunnah tells us many
matters that we can use to monitor the spiritual state of our heart. First and foremost, one of the
symptoms that our heart has become hard is that we stop caring about the Lord's commandments, we
simply don't care. Is it time to pray or not? Who cares? This is our honor. Hello, who cares? Hello,
		

			forgive, don't worry, the whole attitude of being nonchalant or being lazy about the commandments of
Allah azza wa jal, this is the number one sign of a hard heart, you just couldn't care less. And
this is one of the worst symptoms of this disease of having a hard heart. Another symptom that

And you know, brothers and sisters, that analogy can be made here, we've all heard of the dangerous
HIV disease, this is the mother of all diseases. Why? Because it shuts down the immune system, we're
		

			lucky it's not a stretch to say that the hardness of the heart is the HIV of spiritual disease, that
this is the mother of all diseases, that if a person is has this disease of having a heart to heart,
then all the other diseases will then enter the heart. You see every other diseases, one symptom,
being arrogant, being jealous, being selfish, these are specific diseases, we can cure them, but the
hardness of the heart This is the mother of all diseases. And the cure for this is not easy. And

group of people. So the question then arises, if this is the disease, what are the viruses that
cause it? What are those factors that cause me to become heart of heart? What are those factors that

			We close it, we get married, we procreate. We have children, we have fun, a lot of fun, yes. But we
also take care of the soul. Now what's gonna happen, if all you do is you stuff yourself with

			to over indulge in bodily appetites, in physical pleasures, in the pleasures of the Shahada of the

			time are also viruses that affect the status of the heart.
		

			Now, if these are some of the viruses that affect the heart, how about some of the ways we can cure
ourselves if we do have this disease, and frankly, all of us, we get this disease once in a while.
It's like the common cold that we get it once in a while. All of us even those even those who are
praying five times a day and practicing Islam, once in a while, their hearts go hard. And even the
routine of Salah becomes a habit. Even the routine of Salah becomes ritual monotonous, that as they
pray, they're thinking of their daily routine. They're thinking of tomorrow's work. Yes, they're
praying Alhamdulillah but their hearts have grown hard, because the prayer has lost. Its leather,
		

			its pleasure. And so all of us we are sometimes affected. Some of us are constantly affected by the
hardness of the heart. So if we have this disease, how do we cure the disease of the hardness of the
heart? What is the antidote that we can take to cure this disease and again, much can be said, but
time is of the essence here. The first of the antidotes of the cure. Well, of course without without
goes without saying these five points I mentioned, to avoid them is one antidote, obviously, right

I say this very bluntly. In America, we need our battery to be recharged through the messages.
Listen to me carefully. Your msgid is your battery that charges your man in this land that we live
in everything around us is a temptation. Everything around us causes our heart to neglect Allah
subhana wa Taala if your heart is not attached to the masjid, if you are not coming to the masjid on
a regular basis, and I don't just mean on Fridays, one time a week no no battery can only be charged
once a week. The human battery especially try your best to have your attachment to the masjid to the
		

			halaqaat in the masjid to the gurus in the masjid to the people in the masjid to the physical
structure of the masjid going to the masjid all of this should be a highlight of your week. Why?
Because this is what makes the heart soft. Being connected to fellow Muslims. We need to immerse
ourselves in this environment of religiosity. This is one of the ways that we soften our heart of
the ways that we soften our hearts is the Quran

months, he said I could not finish my plate of food, that images would come back to haunt me of what
		

			he had seen. And this is just a one week trip, that he had never seen children dying from hunger. He
had never seen people who don't have clean water. So growing there has changed his entire
perspective was I could not finish a meal.

poor family and help them out. This will make your heart soft. This is what our religion tells us to
do is to physically go and help those people in order that we benefit them and we benefit ourselves.

and we'll talk to you about a group that I think every one of us should be aware of and support. And
this is a group called an amine. And this group is meant to help our convert brothers who have
		

			converted to Islam, and unfortunately, do not find the support they need. Brothers and sisters, I
have been told by people that I trust and know very well that this community of Memphis has seen
dozens, maybe even more than 100 people who have converted to Islam, and then eventually left it
because they didn't find the loving community because they didn't find the resources because they
did not find the infrastructure. When a person converts, he cuts off from his family, his own
parents boycott him, he has lost his social structure. If he does not find an equivalent, if the
Muslim community does not embrace Him, what do you think is gonna happen? The Prophet says that I'm

he's an innocent sheep. He needs to be embraced by the community. And we all have brothers and

other lands, we have fallen short of our duties towards those who have been born and raised for
generations on this slide. I was also born here. So in one sense, I'm also indigenous, but I'm the
children of immigrants. There are those communities that have been here for centuries, and they have
		

			converted and mass in the 60s and 70s. They converted literally in the millions, where are many of
them now? Where are their children now? And when we came here, in the 60s and 70s, we built our own
massage, we separated ourselves from them, and no doubt in hindsight is 2020. You can always look
back that was an error. Nonetheless, now that you recognize that let us try to make sure that
		

			This division, this device no longer exists, these are Muslim brethren. And there are brothers who
are active in helping those who convert to Islam, let us try to help them out as well, whether it is
through whatever means, of course, financial is the most important. But even in terms of
infrastructure in terms of having a physical location in terms of time, in terms of anything, these
are people, especially in this city of Memphis brothers and sisters, there have been hundreds of
converts hundreds of converts, this is something that is an obligation that all of us and I feel
very strongly about that we need to be aware of these groups and help them out, at least with our
		

			drawers. And then with more than this as well. And the second I think communal announcement, it is
very important that you are all aware that a very sensitive election is taking place. And I have
said this before, and I will say it again, that brothers and sisters, it is high time that we
stopped being isolationist, that we realized that the means to get to our goal of religious freedom
in this land is the means that every other group engaged in and that is to be a part of the process.
That is to be a part of this environment of this society. There are bigots that are racist, there
are islamophobes out there, if you're going to be coward, if you're going to be silent, if I'm going
		

			to be silent, then those racists are going to get away with it. And then handed it out. There are
again groups of people who are enthused about these projects. Next week, they're having a meeting

to find out what you can do to be a part of the process. So that insha Allah who tada we don't allow
those voices of hate of insanity to win over again, brothers and sisters, this is our community in
our land now, nobody else is going to come and save us. We're expected to do this ourselves. And
then Allah will give us the help that we want. So I encourage all of you to think carefully about
		

			the next few days about what you're going to be doing in these upcoming elections, especially at the
local level. Perhaps in this state, your local vote is more important than the national not I'm
saying don't do that I'm saying perhaps it is more important to think about state politics and who's
and who your representative is, and find out who is more sympathetic to our causes. This is the
American way every group does it. We shouldn't be embarrassed or ashamed about this. These are our
officials, we're electing them to represent us, our tax dollars are going to them. This is our tax
dollars. And our religion tells us that we try to choose the lesser of the two evils or the better
		

			of the two candidates, the popular religion, you're not gonna find an angel running for office,
you're not gonna find somebody who's 100% perfect, but our religion tells us choose the one who is
better. And our Prophet says I'm Sierra, and in my senior class, I demonstrate over and over again,
that the process of them sometimes had to difficult choices, not to perfect choices, and he made the
choice that was better for him, given the circumstances. This is our situation now. So I hope that
in this upcoming election and also in the event, which is an awareness and a fundraiser and the
project help they want to help as well next Sunday, inshallah tada as well. This is a community
		

			event that I hope that inshallah we can all participate in. And again, I remind all of you that
brothers and sisters Subhanallah we can't pass the buck anymore. I mean, if anybody still believes
that something miraculous is going to happen after all these 10 years situation has gotten worse. We
can't just wait for somebody else. This is my job and your job. I will be speaking there is a state
