			I had had I had a message a couple of days ago about a particular brother that I that I knew a
number of years ago. And I mentioned this because the brother has since passed away and I asked
Eliza to have mercy upon him.
		

			And the reminder was that just a short while in this holiday period that many of us we had, there
were a number of masajid and places that they had like a Quran intensive week, where they would
invite all of the youth to the masjid to have an intensive Quran program. And this was the cause for
the brother to send me the message. I'll complete this the reminder shortly but Masha Allah as I

to fast Mondays and Thursdays. But I do do the days of the week and asked as well like today Miss to

			upholding or keeping some voluntary fasts.
		

			It's good practice to fast Mondays and Thursdays as his practice of the Prophet alayhi salatu salam.
I think in the study, he said he didn't keep today's fast. But it's a voluntary fast if you didn't
fast today, it's not a sin upon you. And you want to fast tomorrow. Well, the nature of the
voluntary fasts is that you're permitted to fast whenever you like, unless you have a text or
something like that to say that you should not fast so we do not fast for example, the day of eat,
no one is allowed to fast on the day of eat.
		

			singling out to the day of Friday for fasting is something which the majority is disliked to do
unless you forced it with alongside a Thursday with a Friday or two fast a Friday and a Saturday but
to single out a Friday based upon the Prophet Elisha type statement.
		

			But other than that you're free to fast any day that you like may allows you to accept for new make
it easier so you want to force tomorrow.
		

			There's nothing prohibiting that there's no stopping that also remember that
		

			alongside the Mondays and Thursdays it's also from the sunnah to fast, three days every month, three
days in during the month and they can be pretty much any days you like.
		

			But the prophet Rs I mentioned specifically, the aim will be the white days which are what does that
mean? These are the days when the Moon is at its fullest within the month. So 13th 14th and 15th of
every Islamic month which the lunar calendar you will find that the Moon is at its fullest, its
brightest. So it is also good to fast these particular days. Just a short reminder this morning I've

			Okay, so, the topic of oaths is a common question because as Muslims we do mention the name of Allah
subhanaw taala frequently and when a person makes an oath for it to be an oath that you will mention
the name of Allah subhanaw taala.
		

			And it comes in the form by saying, You know what it says Wallahi by Allah.
		

			At times, people have misunderstandings as to what constitutes an oath
		

			and what doesn't constitute an oath. And sometimes it may come in the form of an oath, but they
didn't intend to make an oath. Okay?
		

			We know that Allah Subhanallah has explained to us about the expiation for a person who makes an
oath, it's clear. So for example, they say, By Allah, I will, I won't do something, or by Allah if
this happened, or whatever the case, that of course maybe falls into a vowel, but nonetheless a
person makes a clear vowel, and then they break that vowel, okay?
		

			Then the explanation for that is to feed or clothe 10 people to feed or clothe 10 people for miskeen
people poor people
		

			you have the choice of those two and then if you don't have the financial means to do that, then you
fast
		

			three days Okay.
		

			The first one of course, is that you will free a slave but we don't have that option of doing at the
moment so then you therefore go to
		

			feeding or closing 10 Poor people if you're unable financially unable to do that, you go to the
fasting of three days. There is a common misconception the person says well I've got an oath I'm
just gonna go for three days. Well if you have the financial means to do fast or clothe people, you
are required to do that before you go to the fasting.
		

			So that's a clear also a person broke and we need to make an explanation for that.
		

			Those phrases which you may have said, well Llahi
		

			you know, a Wallahi don't do that. That's not an oath. This is you. You know, as you make an
emphasis on what you're talking about, okay, an emphasis is not an oath. So a person was talking or
things like that. We shouldn't be really easy and freely on our tongues making oath swearing by
Allah or what appears to be swearing by Allah all the time. We should refrain from doing that. Be
careful what you're saying.
		

			But you have to differentiate between that what is making an oath and that what is making an
emphasis on the speech that you're talking about those things which you did not intend then the new
wasn't intention it wasn't you didn't intend by that making an oath therefore there's nothing upon
you inshallah Tada. This
		

			itself is roughly what we're talking about an oath and to be honest
		

			kita will a man or the booklet oath is something which requires a little
		

			little bit of study just not at times the simplest of you find that the books are the simplest one
to go through it requires a little bit of study and
		

			to be precise in what we're talking about what constitutes an oath and and so on. Maybe what
constitutes a vowel another which is slightly different. So may Allah subhanaw taala make it easy
