Assalamu Alaikum Rahmatullah. I hope you guys are
doing great. Masha Allah. Masha Allah.
Have a lot to cover today.
Insha'Allah.
So we continue this time together.
Before we get started,
let's do a quick, check-in with everybody.
You can either type it or unmute yourself.
I'm just gonna have to pray really quickly,
and I'll be
right back.
So we will be starting.
Hope you guys are doing great. What is
going on?
Let's get today started by asking a question.
You can either type it in the chat
box or you can unmute yourself.
But when what do you know about
Satan and Iblis? Like, what do you know
about the shayateen, the jinn, and the Iblis?
Who wants to share? Who wants to set
it off first
insha'Allah? Either by typing in the chat box
if you're shy
or
unmuting yourself.
Unmuting
yourself
and telling us what you know about
the shayl team.
And
Iblis, who wants to share something that they
know?
I know that
they have,
showed
or teach black magic to
to the human
That's.
That's true.
It's mentioned this whole to Bakkara.
Who else
is he going to,
chime in?
Let us know what you know about or
what you've heard or you'd like to share
about the Iblis.
Yes. Alhamdulillah, that is quite a headphone contraption,
Mashallah, man.
Dang, bro. That's some serious gears of war
business right there.
Bringing the heat,
and saying that they have free will. That's
a very important thing to know because we're
going to talk about that
soon.
Excellent. Excellent. Masha'Allah.
Who else wants to chime in?
I don't know if this is a 100%
right, but I think they were created to
prove to Allah or,
like, Allah wants to prove that his people
would avid him anyways regardless of the shaitan.
Nice. Who said that?
Rayyan. Rayyan. Masha'Allah. That's really good. Alhamdulillah. Had
a sheikh named Ahmed Taha Rayyan
from Syed Mas'r.
Good job. Excellent. Who else is gonna share?
We got Safwan.
We got Rayyan.
Now we need someone else.
Our 13 to 15 year olds,
man, you can't get them quiet. Right? When
you when you
when you mentioned
Shaitan and Jin,
They go crazy.
Who else is willing to step up to
the plate?
The more you engaged,
the more lively the more important
conversation can become inshallah.
Who else is willing to share what they
know about
Shai'ateen
and the jinn insha'Allah.
Nice. So what we're going to do then
we're going to jump into our discussion Insha'Allah.
And
on
your quiz inshallah. I'll be posting it for
you later this evening
in your classroom,
Google classroom. It's a take home quiz
And then don't worry about the assignments.
I got I got super, super tied up
with some things, but we'll catch up on
those assignments,
next week. What we're gonna talk about Insha'Allah
today is number 1, what origins,
in shaytan and Iblis? What's the hierarchy of
those Shayatin and Iblis? And then some interesting
things about them. And then if we have
time, we'll talk about some of the plan
that Shaytan has for trying to trick us.
And then Insha Allah,
on Monday, we're gonna talk about magic and
rokya.
Rokya is when someone like, they think they
have a jinn and you have to, you
know, read some Quran over them and make
some dua for them in order to help
the jinn come out of them. We're gonna
talk about that on Monday. So Monday, magic
and will appear if we have enough time
to get through with what we want to
do today, InshaAllah. Again, if you have any
questions, just wave at me. We see you
here, Insha Allah, and we'll we'll we'll chime
you in. But let's get started.
In this part of the text, I haven't
sent you yet. So I'm gonna post it
also as well in your
classroom folder
insha'Allah.
So Alhamdulillah, we finished talking about
Allah Subha'ala,
we talked about Al Malaika,
we talked about the prophets. And now what
we're gonna talk about is belief in the
unseen. There are 2 words that you wanna
know that
scholars use,
to talk about these things.
Some yet is 1.
Is the other.
Both imply that something is beyond our knowledge.
So when we have to hear, we have
to hear it from the Quran. We have
to hear it from a prophet because it
deals with something which is beyond
our 5 senses.
Also means those things which are unknown, meaning
that we have to hear their
that we hear them through the Quran or
through the teachings of Sayyidina Aqwan, the Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. This is called Alghaybi'at
was Samayat.
Okay? From the Samayat and the Ghaybiyaat
are what we're gonna talk about today.
So we talk about these things which are
unseen and Malaika also fall under that. Allah
is
is from the rebiet. Right? As a Muslim,
you must believe that prophets taught the issues
of the unseen that Allah ordered them to.
The unseen is a central part of our
faith.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in the second
chapter of the Quran,
verse number 3,
those who believe with the unseen.
So that takes us now
into a discussion about Jin. I have a
question for you guys. What are Jin?
Who can tell me what Jin are?
What are gin?
Someone tell me. Someone teach me. What are
gin?
Unseen
creatures with free will made of fire. Good.
Shayanne, always holding it down.
Amen. Made of fire. Rokayah,
a species made to worship God. Good. Ruqayah.
Good. Someone's unmuting themselves. Don't be shy.
Are you just unmuting yourself to hear yourself
breathing?
Or do you have something you wanna share?
Awesome.
So what are gins? The word gin actually
comes from the word the same word as
Jannah.
Anyone in here have family from Pakistan?
Anyone here like straight about the Zingibad life?
Zingibad.
Alright.
You guys wanna see something funny?
Should know about that
right
there.
Who can translate that?
Whoever translates that,
That's that's a real one right there. That's
a real one.
Someone has to be able to translate that.
My Urdu isn't that bad. Satta Torah Torahsir.
Nice.
There you go. Awesome.
So in Pakistan,
there was this group called Janoon.
Anyone remember Janoon? You guys may be too
young for Janoon.
Is from the same word.
In Arabic, we say anyone here?
Anyone who's speaking Arabic?
We
we say Right? Magnoon,
right, somebody who's insane.
Why? Because the word
Jan means something which is unseen.
So the group Janoon like crazy, Majnoon and
Aarawi, because someone their it's like their their
normal personality has disappeared.
They have been
replaced by insanity. That's why they're called
Majnoon or Janoon and Urdu.
Allah says in the 6th chapter of the
Quran.
When the night, Jannah Arah Sayna Ibrahim, became
so dark,
it's like you couldn't see him or you
couldn't see anything else.
So the word
jann
means something invisible.
Who can think of a place we all
wanna go
that is from this word?
A place that we all wanna go.
Jannah.
Masha'Allah.
May Allah make us from Uhalo Jannah. May
Allah make Zoya, Shayan, Iman, Alina, Ruqayyah, and
Imad,
as well as
Zara
from Ahlajjna.
And everybody here inshaAllah make them from Aha
Jannah Ruqaiyah.
Why is it called Jannah? This is very
important what I'm telling you right now.
Because we can't see it.
We can't see it.
Why is it someone called Majnoon? Because we
can't see who they really are.
The Janine is the embryo
because we don't know
what it's, you know, the inside. They used
Arabs ancient times called it Jini.
Jin
because you can't see them.
You can't see them. We're gonna talk about
that in a second because sometimes, you know,
I used to have this roommate,
man. He was from he was from Pakistan.
I became Muslim largely in a community full
of desis, Masha'Allah.
So I had this roommate, he was from
Pakistan, mashallah from Lahore.
And he used to sometimes like, when we
were in college,
he'd wake up and be like, man,
man, I see a gin, man. It's a
gin in the apartment.
So then, you know, we had turned on
the lights and it was like one of
those, like, colorful topies
in his closet.
One time it was his,
art style socks.
So then I would ask him,
you're fine.
What did you eat last night? He was
like, man, I ate nahari. I was like,
is that nahari, bro? That nahari is making
you see gin, man.
So I used to tease him
until I'm stopping in nihadi. But oftentimes,
we run into people
who say, I know in Egypt when people
used to eat a lot of Molokhia, they
would say, you know,
I saw a jinn.
You cannot
see
jinn.
Nobody
can see
Jin.
How do you know that?
It's in the name. The proof is in
the pudding.
It's called
jinn.
Allah says in the Quran,
The jinn see you, but you can't see
them.
No. We're gonna talk about it, iman. We're
gonna break it down.
We're gonna break it down today.
We're gonna get deep and dirty, and then
Inshallah, on Monday, if we have time, I
don't know, I'm gonna ask you guys, you
can vote on it. You want a scary
gin story on Monday? A true gin story
that I experienced?
Because,
okay.
Alright. If you can't sleep at night,
don't
blame
me.
But
we believe
that
jinns, we do not see
jinn. What are jinns? Imam al Baydawi.
Imam al Baydawi was a beast.
Masha'allah,
man.
He was one heck of a scholar. He
was from Iran. What's known as Iran now
from Faris.
He was a great chef, a scholar, and
a great traditionalist,
and he lived in the mountains.
And people, when they used to see the
mountains what do you see at the top
of a mountain?
Snow. So they named
the area he was from Bayadaw. Anyone here
from Morocco?
Dar al Bayadaw?
Sheikh
Sheikh Al Beidawi was from an area in
Iran now on on the mountains, people used
to see the snow, so they called it
Beidaw. It means white. It's from the white
the white area. The white the white top
of the mountain.
Imam Abu Dawei, he said al jinn
which means jinn
have an aqal.
Remember that
Jinns have intellect.
What do we mean when we use the
word Aqal in theology? It means they have
the ability to choose.
Chafiyya,
very subtle, unseen.
And they are made of, like,
immaterial object,
which is
created by a fire, as we talk about
later, that has no smoke.
So it's like a type of fire that
we can't see.
Imam
he said, jinn
are named as such because they are not
visible.
They are hidden.
As the law says,
Right? The verse we mentioned above,
when the late night covered Ibrahim, meaning it
became so intense
that it covered him and hit him. You
couldn't see him.
There is a hierarchy
to Jens.
There's a hierarchy to Jens.
This is really important.
Okay?
According to the scholars, and this is Ivan
Abdulbar, who, if you're from Morocco,
was originally from Andalus. Anyone here from Spain?
He's from what's now Spain, Southern Spain.
According to the scholars of Theology and Language,
Jin are divided into the following
hierarchy.
When they are mentioned,
like, just as a normal jinn, they are
called jinn.
When they discuss the scholars agenda that resides
amongst the people,
it's
called
the.
And if it is the type of jinn
that haunts children,
it's called.
Does anyone know a translation for the word?
Anyone can think of how you would translate
Arwa?
Nice. Nice Manal. Mashallah.
Souls.
Here,
you know, perhaps a better translation is
ghosts. But we don't believe, like, the ghost
of people who died show up. We do
believe we'll talk about this perhaps in the
future. A jinn
could try to look like that person.
Right?
Because the jinn, one time, as we'll talk
about, they are shape shifters.
And if if it's a really bad jinn,
evil jinn, it's called
shaytan. And if it's, like, even worse than
a shaytan,
the word for it is mary, and you'll
find it here in the translation.
And the the second to the highest,
yeah, exactly.
Madrid is worse than shaitan, and Efreet
is worse than Madrid.
The
plural is
And that's why I try to tell parents,
like, don't call your kids
man. That's like a really bad word.
One time I was in a Muslim country
in the market,
and this guy was like, Efreeta.
So I thought like, dude saw a shaytan,
man. I was like, woah. I wouldn't be
like him in a shaytan.
And it was his kid. It was his
son. I was like, man, don't be calling
your son, Efreet.
And then, of course, the head of all
of the jinn, the Shai'atim,
the evil jinn
is Iblis.
The word Iblis is from Ablasa.
You blisoo.
Iblisah.
Like, aslamma, you slimu, Islam. The same form.
And ablasah means to confuse.
To confuse.
The word Shaytan in Arabic means to give
up.
So the Shaytan is so evil. One of
the worst qualities of Shaitan is they gave
up on Allah's rahma.
Ar Rajeem, Shaitan. Ar Rajeem. Regime means something
which is rejected,
debased.
But Iblis, remember this,
is from a word, blessed are you blessed.
In the Quran. Don't mix and confuse the
truth with falsehood.
Allah says in the Quran,
Here,
and let me see if I can find
this for you.
I want to show you something because there
tends to be a lot of confusion.
People say, Oh, Iblis was an angel.
Iblis was raised by the angels.
Iblis, like, was born and, like, hung out
like the Tarzan story, but it's like Iblis.
None of these things are true.
The strong opinion
is that Iblis
was a jinn.
As Allah
says in Iblis was a jinn.
And he disobeyed the order of his lord.
And if we look at the verses of
Surat Al Baqarah,
particularly this verse,
people confused,
and they say
Allah says, and when we said when we
commanded the angels
Adam,
make sujood to Adam.
They all may sujood
Iblisa
except Iblis. If someone reads this, they may
think that, oh, Iblis was with the angels,
so he must have been the angel. I'm
sure some of you
have heard this before.
They're like titles, Shayan.
Aba wastak but Iblis is a name. Aba
wastak bara wakanaminal
kefileen. Shayan asked a good question. All of
those other names
are titles
except Iblis.
Iman, that is a story from Christianity.
But let's think about why Iblis could not
have been an angel. First of all, the
Quran says,
he's a jinn.
But what did we learn about Malaika
in our last wonderful session together?
That if we look at this verse,
we see
that there's no way Iblis
was
an angel.
Exactly, Safwan.
Look at Safwan.
Safwan stepping up to the plate.
Zara
stepping up to the plate. Zara.
Amen.
And Alina holding it down. Exactly.
Remember when Imam Al Baydawi early on he
said,
Right? Jinn are a creation that have free
will.
They have the ability to choose.
So when Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
ordered the malaika
to prostrate to Adam, this fat see that
fat right there everybody?
Let me see if I can, if I
can do something with it.
This fat, InshaAllah, one day if I teach
you guys Arabic.
See that?
Fat. That fat means immediately.
Immediately.
Yani, they didn't even think about it.
Immediately, they went into sujood.
Iblis. Why? Because Iblis
Abba,
he disobeyed
and he became arrogant
and he was a kafirim.
Let me ask you a
question.
Is Kufr a choice?
Woah,
man.
We just learned a lot about some very
important philosophical
discussions
in
our faith.
Kufr is a choice.
So for Iblis to be Kafir
and to disobey
and to become arrogant,
didn't he choose that?
See, yeah. I mean, in order to disobey
something,
you have to choose.
So those words in themselves
are enough for us to know he wasn't
Amalekah.
He wasn't an angel.
But then what was he doing hanging out
with the angels?
And this is where there's a lot of
confusion, and sometimes we find, unfortunately,
Muslims will borrow from other religious traditions.
There's nothing necessarily wrong with with with like
that,
except we need to be careful.
We need to be careful.
Because where our tradition has already taught us,
we don't need to borrow from others.
And when we're borrowing from others, we need
to be very careful that it doesn't contradict
something within our Akhida or in our religion.
Let's, let's look here
at the beginning of these verses
and things become
super clear.
Allah
says, and recite
and remind them when you're Lord, Allah said
to the angels,
I am going to create
on earth
a khalifa.
A khalifa means
something that has offspring.
Means I came after
it. Are you gonna create something that
spreads blood and corruption?
Some people also just as a side note,
they confuse this.
They think that this question
is like the question of someone that has
a choice.
But this is different if you speak out
of me.
This is different than *.
* means are you?
Like,
like,
are you gonna come today? Are you gonna
be present today?
But this is at.
And at has different usages
in Arabic to ask a question in a
rhetorical
in a rhetorical way.
And here this is called hamza
ta'ajubiyah,
meaning like, wow, you're gonna make it.
Not like, why you're gonna make it? Or
are you gonna make it?
You understand?
So they didn't respond in a way and
sometimes we find even our Arab brothers and
sisters may not be strong in Quranic Arabic.
They interpret this in a way which is
not found in the meaning.
That's why Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in
Suratul Fil. Who knows how does Suratul Fil
start?
Which one?
Why? That means this is something amazing.
What Allah did with those animals.
That's the feeding.
Those elephants.
So
is like,
woah,
you making this amazing creation
while we worship you and we magnify you
And here, what does Allah stated them?
I know
what you don't know.
And don't you see actually Hashem is kind
of a poor translation to be honest with
you, man.
The feeling is is what's called a tajobim,
something amazing.
And then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala continues the
story
where he teaches Adam the ability to speak
and use language
and to name things.
Doesn't mean he taught him 123 all the
names. It means cognition, the ability to think
as Imam Zamaqshari
mentions.
Wa'alama adamal asmaa'akulaha,
the ability to think.
And then Adam, he presented
this ability to the malaika.
And there we know that Iblis became jealous
of Adam
as a jinn.
So the strong opinion
is that Iblis
took on the form of an angel.
He changed himself,
and he mixed with the Malaika,
so that he could know
what is this new creation?
What is this Adam?
What is this thing?
The angels, of course, they don't have the
ability to think. They don't have the ability
to know right and wrong, so they didn't
notice him. So now pay attention.
Opinion of Ulama
is that
Iblis
shape shifted
into looking like a what?
An angel. But in reality,
even though he looked like an angel, what
is he?
Jinn.
Good iman.
And this is why Allah says,
I know what you reveal
and I know what you conceal.
Would Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala would the angels
conceal anything from Allah?
That's the question.
But who is he talking to here?
Exactly
Even though he's talking to all of the
Malaika,
the Malaika don't know how to hide anything.
He's specifically speaking to that one
angel
who is trying to look like what?
Who's trying to look like an angel, but
in reality is what?
Is Iblis. Now you understand the story.
Oh, snap.
Yeah.
And subhanallah, the answer is there in front
of us in the Quran. I always tell
people when you find yourself like hearing different
things, Allah, he just think on the Quran.
Now Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala when he said
to the malaika, I know what you don't
know and to Iblis.
How does he expose Iblis? Now you understand
the verse. How does Allah show
those angels
that amongst you is a munafiq?
They say the first munafiq in history is
Iblis.
The first Kafir in history is Iblis.
Some people ask why did the angels have
to make sujood to Adam? Now becomes clear.
Because when he ordered them to make Sujood
to Adam,
they all
did it except to.
So when he refused,
then those other malaika became aware
that this is not really exactly Allah is
Avaheir,
the one who exposes. It's one of the
names of Allah.
So Allah uses and remember this.
You ever had, like, good friends? You thought
they were, like, really good friends? And then
something, like, happened to you, something bad happened,
and they revealed themselves?
Like they weren't really your friends. They weren't
really loyal.
Even sometimes family is like that.
One thing, they show their true colors. So
now, Iman, good. Iblis is what? In the
face of a test,
your
people's true colors are exposed.
So also we learned something from this verse
that there's wisdom sometimes in being tested by
Allah. There's wisdom in good and bad
Because the good and bad
exposes us,
exposes where we are.
Who created life and death to test you.
So just as Allah ordered the malaika to
make sujood
to expose the monafiq and the hypocrite Iblis
through a test
for us every day, the test of life,
expose things around us that we would not
have known
without
the test.
So every test in your life
and in my
life, either we're going to be Iblis,
or we're gonna be Adam,
or we're gonna be Malaika.
Malaika means we we stick to what's right.
Adam, we may
have a little bit of a mistake, so
we repent. Iblis, oh, man, forget this man.
Allah doesn't care about me. I'm out.
So that's why we see that at the
beginning of creation in the Quran,
there is a complete
framework for you to look at your life.
Tests,
enemies,
repentance,
obedience,
disobedience.
It's amazing, man.
Man.
But what's important for us here? We don't
wanna get too far off the topic is,
the test
exposed
the jinn.
And the Malaika
realized,
and Adam realized,
this is your enemy. So when you hear
people say, like, Iblis was an angel, he
was born. This is not true. The Quran
says,
means he was a jinn without a
doubt.
But he took on
shapeshifter.
He put on the costume of an angel,
whatever that was. We don't know what the
angels look like.
And deceive the angels
and deceived Adam,
but Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
exposed him.
Everybody understand now? The story is like really
important, man. And it's very simple, but like
people confuse
it. SubhanAllah.
Very important.
And this is recorded, so I'll post it.
I made sure to bid that we're recording
Insha Allah.
Let's get back to our discussion.
Some useful
information
about jinn.
Number 1, they exist.
This is known from the large number of
verses of the Quran. We even have a
chapter called Suratul Jinn. I don't know if
anybody memorized it. I remember for me when
I first started memorizing the Quran, my teacher
had me memorize Suratul Jinn.
Surah Zuljinn. Remember me Surah Zuljinn was so
hard I said to this chick man I
think there's a jinn man, there's a funny
to memorize this Surah.
This is known from the large number of
verses in the Hadith that mention their existence.
Jins are considered from the unseen or what
scholars of Theology termed
a samriyet.
Any of those things that you could only
know through revelation. Thus, according to scholars, whoever
denies the existence of a Jain is not
Muslim.
It's central to our
belief. Some other interesting things about jinn, Insha'Allah,
they have the ability to take on different
forms.
What?
Yes,
and look at the statement of the Imam
Badruddin Ash Shalebi,
Of course, Shalabi da Masri Al Atul.
He says, means he's Egyptian. Jin,
let me put this here for you.
Have the ability to transform
and take different shapes,
be they men
or women,
riding animals,
wild animals,
scorpions, camels, goats, cows, horses, ponies, donkeys, or
birds.
In addition, they can take on human form
like the time one appeared as Surakah, ibnomatik,
ibnuljashum
in the Battle of Badr.
That's actually mentioned in the Quran in Surat
al Farh.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says
Remember when Shaitan made their deeds look good
to them
and said to them, no one can overcome
you this day. He was talking to the
Kufar of Mecca. He came into them He
came to them as a human being.
And he said to them, like, today nobody
can defeat you. He was trying to encourage
them to fight the Muslims,
and then they were defeated.
And also we know that when the Quraysh
and we'll talk about this summer inshallah, when
we go through the stories of the prophets,
or maybe in the winter, we get to
say to Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
The Quraysh,
when Surah when they gather to decide what
are we gonna do with Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam,
A person came in the form of an
old man and he said you should kill
him. That person was Iblis
or Shaytan.
But we're gonna talk about this in a
minute
more.
Are jinns angels?
We already talked about why they're not angels.
Number 1, jinn are made from a smokeless
fire.
Exact shay'an. Good. Also found in the Hadith
people after saying the Nuha.
Iblis came to them encourage them to do
evil.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created jinns from smokeless
fire and he created angels from light. Jinns
eat and drink angels do not. What did
they eat and drink? I have no idea.
But some people say that they eat, like,
you know, feces and stuff. It's not nobody
knows.
We already studied this line above here, the
Arabic is mista.
But in our poem that we're learning, Imam
Marzuk, he said the angels don't have parents.
They don't eat, they don't drink and they
don't sleep.
And most importantly,
angels do not what?
They do not have a choice.
They do not disobey
Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Can Jins possess people?
Imam Abu Hassan al Shari, he wrote scholars
had 2 opinions about this.
Number 1,
Yeah. Allahu Adam, Shayan if this is true,
but we know that the prophet said whoever
eats
it doesn't say Bismillah, the shaitan eats with
them.
Right? So
or just say before we
Scholars held 2 opinions
about jinn possessing people.
Okay?
Some said it is impossible.
This was the Ma'at Azilites.
But Ahlus Sunnah
and the Shia,
Ahlus Sunnah and Shia, They say based on
hadith,
it's possible, and religious texts like the Quran,
that jinn can possess people.
That is the dominant opinion. That is the
opinion we find,
amongst
Al Asuna, as well as the Shia brothers
and sisters.
This is found on an authentic Hadith of
Uthman ibn
ibn Abi Al Aas,
who came to say to Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam, and he was having these weird experiences.
People were concerned about him.
So the prophet
he prayed for him and then he said,
Get out, oh, enemy of Allah. And, Iblis
left him. Say that Shaitan left him.
Also, this is found in another hadith of
Sayna ibn Abbas, an authentic hadith once a
woman brought her child to the prophet
It's a really long hadith,
but this child was possessed from ibn Majah.
She was complaining about her son and after
the prophet examined him, he prayed for him
and began to rub his chest and make
dua and the boy he vomited
and he became better.
How do
these jinns enter people?
Said the imam Abu Hassan, he said because
jinns are made of a light consistency,
kafifa or kafiyya,
Thus, it is possible that they could enter
through the mouth, the ears, the nose,
just like water does or just like a
virus does now.
And their consistency
water and food water is more dense than
Jin.
However,
the food doesn't possess people not not the
Jin. The only way they can end by
is by entering a person
just like other organisms which exist into others.
Yeah. No. No.
There's no evidence for that to eat bones
and stuff.
And also yawning. This is like kind of
like a old wives tale.
Old man's tale.
Can we see gin?
This is a controversial
issue amongst the scholars. The majority say that
we cannot see Jin and pay attention to
this just like angels.
We cannot see jinn in their true form.
Hence, Sayna Imam Shafi'i said, manza'imaa
an nahu yaraljinaa
utalna
shaharetta.
No one ever claims to have seen a
jinn. We say this person their their witness
is no longer accepted, like they are now
lost
their competency.
This is also strengthened by
the Quran
chapter 7 verse 27.
In Nahu
indeed, and his group
in a way that you can't see them.
In a way that you can see them
means
like in their real form.
However,
most scholars agree that the jinn can be
seen when they shape shift.
Like the time one came to Abu Huraira,
talk about this hadith on Monday,
and other instances reported inauthentic
hadith,
like those we talked about above.
However,
there is a caveat to this,
and that is
that it is impossible just like Malaika for
any us to for any of us to
affirm, oh, man. I saw a djinn.
Oh, man. I met a gin while I
was playing gears of the war. Oh, man.
I met a gin at the mall.
Oh, man.
This is a guy at school. He's, like,
really mean, so I met a gin.
So we can see gin in their other
forms, but it is impossible
to affirm that that is a Jin. The
only way is.
The only one who can affirm the existence
of a something being a jinn
is a prophet
or revolution.
But now that's a great question. Hadabi is
Nila.
Allah has given them the freedom to do
that, but Allah, as we'll talk about later
insha'Allah,
protects us from them. We can either continue
with the 11 ways to protect yourself from
gin, or we can take questions.
It's up to you guys. If you wanna
stop here, and we can take questions,
we can do that. And then on Monday,
we can continue the ways to protect ourselves
from Jin, and start to talk about
Rokya
and magic.
And we talk about more powerful shay'an will
also address that issue by the will of
Allah. Allah has taught us things we can
do that make us more power.
Says to Shaytan in the Quran, you do
not, by My will, you do not have
power over my servants,
over those who worship
me. So by the worship of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala, we are protected
and more made more powerful be Islamiuddin.
Yes.
Good gens can also shape shift.
So do you guys wanna continue
on 11 ways to protect yourself from Jin?
Or do you wanna stop now and take
questions?
Up to
you. Awesome.
We're gonna do questions, then let's get started.
We have about 10 to 15 minutes.
Yeah. So it's mentioned the Quran in Surat
Al Jain that they try and listen to
the secrets
of the Malaika in heaven, and they're upheld
as Allah says
Yeah. They're trying to listen to as the
Prophet
said that they tried to listen to
what the Malaika are discussing.
And they tried to also relay that to
magicians and Saharah
on the face of the earth. And the
prophet says those people
that like, you know, tarot card readers and
crystal balls and all this stuff.
For every one truth, there's a 1,000 lies.
One time I was in New York City,
man,
where I lived in Brooklyn. I don't know
if anyone here is from New York.
And,
this lady, every time I'll be walking to
the subway,
she would she didn't know, like, who I
am. Right? She's a non Muslim.
She would come to me and be like,
I can tell your future.
I can tell your future. Come inside.
So finally,
this is crazy, man. I was walking to
the subway.
She came out. She was like,
I can tell your future. And I went
like this.
And
then she went like this. I swear to
god, she went like this,
and she ran inside, man.
She got ghost.
She got ghost like power.
She disappeared.
Ever since then,
when I walked by her store, she sees
me, she goes inside.
Maybe my good Jen maybe my good Jen
stepped up to her and was like, what's
up? What's up? You want a box?
But,
yeah, man.
She got scared.
So, alright, let's take your questions. Any questions?
I don't know how many of you use
Twitch. Anyone that uses Twitch next week.
Myself,
and email Mark Manley
will share with you
our Fortnite
information.
If you feel like you're in the mood
to shoot some pink bunnies,
blast on Dunwich,
steal a
helicopter. Got you.
Zara, let's get to your questions. People say
that Shaitan was afraid of the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam. If that was true, why wasn't
it afraid of
Allah?
Shaitan
still tried to attack the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi
Wasallam until still tried to obey him. You
can be scared of something and still disobey
it. Sometimes we're scared of our parents. We
still don't listen to them.
But we know that the prophet
said every single one of us is born
with a shaytan. That shaytan is even with
us in Ramadan.
That shaytan never leaves us.
And the Sahaba said, even you?
He said, even me, illa
aslimta.
Even me except I called mine to Allah
and accepted Islam. Allahu Akbar.
Yeah. That's mentioned, Shayana Surat Al Rahman, sunafuruwalaqum
aiyuhaithaquran.
We believe that jinn will be in heaven
and *, then we can see them also.
And so to Sajda, Allah says we will
fill * with jinn
and human beings. Can jinn physically hurt people?
The strong opinion is no.
No. Is there a way to know if
your Jin is a Muslim or a Kafir?
I mean, I'm sure if you're always trying
to do what's right and you're, you know,
making your salah and being good to your
family.
Inshallah.
We'll talk about that later. Insha'Allah your jinn
hopefully has accepted Islam. You could also say,
oh jinn accept Islam.
Accept Islam. But you know,
there's some signs for that we're gonna talk
about later InshaAllah. Seven ways we recognize if
the Shaytan is trying to mess with us.
Shayon, just ask him, yo man, come on,
come on to
stop hanging out on the on the evil
side. Come to the Haqq.
What do you want me to clarify about
possession?
Yeah. The jinn that is assigned to us
is a shaitan. Every
for every one of us that's born, there's
a there's an angel, which we talked about
last time,
our personal trainer.
And there's a shaytan that tries to what's
called
And so toqaaf
tries to misguide us. We'll talk about 7
to 8 ways on Monday.
One of them is peer pressure.
I want you to think about something.
Every time Shaitan spoke to Adam, he usually
speaks in a plural even though he's by
himself.
Why does he speak in a plural? To
make it look like this is what everyone's
doing.
This is what everyone's doing. Why aren't you
doing it?
Peer pressure. The first example of peer pressure
in the Quran is with Adam and his
wife.
Now
in their true form, Zara, they don't have
physical
features like us.
For us, yeah, we talked about it. It's
possible to become possessed and and when we
talk about Rokya,
we'll talk about some of the signs of
possession inshallah.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala did tell Shaitan and
Surah Araf he will be going to *
and Surah Sajja and other places. Does water
affect Jin? No. But we'll do is a
way to keep a gin away from you.
Yeah. Nah. Nobody can be kidnapped by gin.
Some of that stuff is, you know,
people watch too much paramount paranormal activity.
Scary story on Monday
because it's long.
Super scary.
No, that just don't live in black cats.
That's like some Western stuff, man.
Halloween, the process in
and a tawafin alaykum, he said, cats are
not filthy.
Although there is a hadith, this is the
black dog is shaitan.
We mentioned that was about a specific group
of dogs that had rabies in Medina, not
all black dogs.
I'm gonna share this document later. I have
to prepare it for you. So I'll post
it Insha'Allah. I'll add this to
the text that you're using and then I'll
repost it.
Can a curse affect the whole lineage? No.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is merciful and clean.
How could people that have done nothing wrong
be cursed?
Jin live in the corners of your room?
I think, nah. Jin don't live in a
curved corners of your room. Read Quran, make
zikr, the Jin's gonna leave. Make Adhan, you
know, when you make Adhan,
the Jin runs.
Do have
a Surah?
No.
Yeah. I mean, there could be gins in
your room, could not be gins in your
room, but nobody can definitively say that because
they can't see them. But we know what
we know is how to make them not
in our room is to recite Quran, make
zikr,
when you sleep, meet read Avatokorsi,
read the last three chapters of the Quran.
Jinn's gonna bounce. It's gonna eviction notice. Adhan
is the eviction notice for the Jinn.
Can they move things that we can see
the predominant opinion is no.
Unless they take on a physical form.
Can jinn recite the Quran? The believing jinn
we believe can recite the Quran.
We're gonna talk about that on Monday, Zoya
Iblis.
Good question.
We're gonna talk about black magic on Monday
too. Inshallah. Let's call it magic. Don't call
it black magic. That's how people try to
make people look at the color black in
a negative way, man. Let's call it magic.
You know what I mean? That's like a
trick they try to do. Now, you didn't
know. Like, people don't know. Right? But that's,
why don't they call it white magic?
See what I'm saying?
So we gotta we gotta stay aware of
terminology, but that's okay. You didn't know. It's
all good. It's all good.
But all magics are Haram. Yes, sir.
Good and bad magic is Haram.
Nah, man. Is it true the Bermuda Triangle
is where Iblis is thrown in? No. That's
just where there's a certain barometric pressure on
the face of the Earth that causes storms.
That can be scientifically explained.
What's the difference between magic and miracles? Is
number 1, miracles can be repeated.
But 2, magic can be repeated.
Number 3, miracles are used to do good.
Perform magic is used to eat you do
evil.
Number 3 is magic can be false, can
be a trick. Saharu a yurinnes
a yurinnes,
plus as they trick the people's eyes. It
wasn't real. Whereas Amat Jeeza
is real.
Masha'Allah, these are good questions. You can unmute
yourself and ask to.
And miracles, of course, are only from Allah,
and they happen only with prophets.
And you capture jinn and use it for
good. Nah, man. That's people say that stuff
and they trick people. Yo, I got a
group of jinns with me. They'd be running
with me in the streets, man. The gin
gang.
Pay me money and I won't mess with
you.
It's just somebody trying to trick people.
Yeah. So,
Aliya, that's a good question. We can talk
about this also on Monday, but
if somebody claims to be possessed by jinn
and we do
what Islam told us to do,
and one of the things that Islam doesn't
tell us to do is given that kind
of water, right?
And it doesn't work.
Then we have to assume that this may
be a mental health or emotional health disorder.
Unfortunately,
Muslim community, like other communities,
has this kind of stigma about mental health
problems. So we don't help people. We say
everybody has a jinn.
You know how,
what percentage of Sahaba had a jinn?
Less than 1%.
You know what percentage of people come to
me and say they have a jinn in
the Muslim community?
I have to say about 45 to 50%.
Doesn't make
sense. So oftentimes, these may be mental health
issues, which are okay.
We should help people.
We should be there to help them.
And diagnosing it as a jinn
is irresponsible.
Do certain Sahaba and righteous people have the
ability to do miracles? Not miracles, but what
are called karamat, gifts from Allah. We'll talk
about those at the end of the book
actually, it's coming.
If jinn don't commit physical harm, what are
some of the things they make someone do
is possessed? We'll talk about that in the
future, but we don't believe, like,
they get you, like, wake up, got people
up at night trying to kill people, rob
banks.
That's why in fiqh, if somebody commits a
crime, they can't say it was a jinn
that made them do it.
You know what I mean? Like, I couldn't
come to your house to steal all your
nohari
and your multi kebabs and your months of
and your and your, you know,
biryani, and they'd be like, yo, Jin made
me do it.
Come on, son.
A lot of the folktale, Cheyenne, that are
out there aren't true. The things that people
just kind of made. In fact, they go
against
what we believe like fairies and gnomes and
all this stuff.
Do Jin's have a lifespan like us? Yes.
Some do and some don't.
I would not trust the jinn. No.
You wanna avoid that kind of stuff.
Even if it's like, oh, it's a believing
jinn and they told me this. This is
not something that we find as a source
of guidance. Do gin have anything to do
with Halloween? I don't think so.
Unless they like candy and they have diabetes.
Do we have any other info on the
lives of gin? Yeah. There's a lot of
details. Of course, this is an introductory course,
right? So
we're not gonna go through all of the
necessary details. This is an introductory course, but
there is
a great book by doctor Omar
Omar Ashkar
that you can find, I think, on Amazon.
It's a good book, man.
Just like us, Allah says
is to worship.
I mean, there's probably jinn right now listening.
There's probably jinn at our class. There's probably
some good Jin in our class with us
right now.
Yeah. So we'll talk about what we'll do
is one of the things that keeps Jin
away, as mentioned in authentic Hadith. Mashallah. Mashallah.
Take a few more questions. You guys are
asking great questions today, but why don't you
guys unmute yourselves? Why are you guys so
scared?
The 13 or 16 year olds, I have
to turn the mute on.
They just like
You guys were like, I ain't seeing nothing,
man. I'm just gonna
type.
Do they pray fast to give Zakat perform
Hajj in their own way? We believe that
they do have
certain components
of religious rituals like ours that they have
to observe. Because Muhammad
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was sent to human beings
in jail.
No. No. No. No.
You know, they're not we shouldn't be scared
of them. Right? Like, we don't need to
make jinn like suit like superheroes.
Right? The Jin is considered a weak creation,
by the way.
Syed, we're gonna talk about the hereafter in
the future, man. That's a good question.
Any more questions from this amazing,
incredible, super cool class that I really enjoy
spending time with?
Can babies see jinn? No. Remember, no one
can see a jinn in its true form.
We talked about that before.
So there is this opinion that previous nations
of jinns have their own prophets until Sayid
Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam he was sent to
ins and jinn.
Yeah, I mean, people want to make movies
about Jains is okay, but they need to
be careful that they don't portray something which
isn't true, right?
As best it can, but usually if it's
a cartoon, people understand it's nonfiction.
It's fiction. Excuse me. Like, it's not real.
You know, there are some signs like if
it's encouraging you to do something evil, it's
occurring you do something wrong.
No, it's crying something like how they encourage
to kill the prophet
We're gonna talk about that on Monday. It's
a good question. Masha'Allah. It's coming up in
your notes.
We've come to the hour now. It's,
very good discussion,
And I'm thankful that you guys are here.
Barakal Afikum. May Allah bless each and every
one of you.
Inshallah,
next week, we're also gonna have a special
Ramadan dry run with you guys before Ramadan.
So we can do all your questions about
Ramadan,
things that you may want to know about
Ramadan,
especially this year. Good luck. I know that
you have a lot of studies and exams
right now. So may Allah make it easy
and if any of you have sick family
or friends,
we pray that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala give
them Shifa.
