As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
Wa alaykum as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa
barakatuhu.
How are you, Sheikh?
Alhamdulillah.
Ready when you are, Sheikh.
I'm ready, alhamdulillah.
Okay, just a minute.
Let us begin, inshallah.
Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim.
Alhamdulillah.
As-salatu wa salamu ala Rasulullah wa ala
alihi wa sahbihi wa man wala wa ba
'ala.
Brothers and sisters, As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi
wa barakatuhu.
And welcome to our ninth lesson of Masaa
'il al-Jahiliyya.
Delivered by our honorable Sheikh, Sheikh Salim Al
-Amri.
I will pass the mic on the screen
to the Sheikh.
And the Sheikh can begin, inshallah.
So let's go ahead and thank our sheikh,
Sheikh Salim Al-Amri.
May Allah bless you.
May Allah reward you well.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
the Most Merciful.
Alhamdulillah, we praise Him, we ask for His
help, and we ask for His forgiveness.
And we seek refuge in Allah from the
evils of our egos and from the evils
of our actions.
Indeed, whoever Allah guides is not misguided, and
whoever is misguided is not guided.
And I bear witness that there is no
god but Allah, alone, no partner.
And I bear witness that Muhammad is His
servant and Messenger.
This is our weekly class, Masaila Al-Jahiliyya.
And in the last session, we talked about
the meaning of the word Jahal, because Jahiliyya
is derived from that root, Jahala, this is
just a recap.
And all the derivative nouns and words from
that root, jeem, dha, and meem, they revolve
around the meaning of lack of knowledge, or
shallow-mindedness, or ignorance.
And the Qur'an uses this word and
its various derivatives in different forms in the
Qur'an.
So the Qur'an used and mentioned the
verb, the present tense of Jahala, which is
Yajhal, one who is unaware or is ignorant
about something.
So the Qur'an used Yajhalun in Surah
Al-An'am.
The Qur'an also used the word Jahilun,
which is in the subject form, is in
faal, because in Arabic, when you want to
derive the name of the subject, the doer,
the one who is doing the action, like,
for example, when you say in English, the
one who acts is an actor, the one
who did something is a doer.
Okay, the one who's doing work is a
worker.
So if you want to have the subject,
you have to use the form faal.
Faal is the standard.
Okay, so the one who is possessing and
having ignorance, it's called Jahal.
So Jahal, remember, there is a meter, there
is a scale, grammatical scale, and the grammatical
scale of balance or standard or yardstick in
Arabic is the root faala.
So you place Jahal under faala, and then
you want to see what is the corresponding
form of Jahil on the balance.
So what is then missing in faala is
the alif.
This is a balance, whatever you add in
one side, you add to the other.
So here I put faala, that is the
balance itself.
Under it, I put the root, Jahala.
But I don't want the form of Jahala,
I want what is the corresponding form of
Jahil.
So I add alif here, then I have
to add it also on the top.
So Jahal becomes faal.
This is how you make the name of
the doer, the one who does the action.
So here the Qur'an uses the plural
form of Jahal.
Also, the Qur'an uses the intensive form,
which is Sighat Mubalighah, which shows excessive of
something, excess of something.
So it is an excessive form, intensive form.
In this case, it will be in the
form of Fa'ul, which is Jahul.
So the Qur'an uses this form, Fa
'ul, Jahul, means person who is extremely ignorant,
extremely ignorant, Jahul.
Okay.
So in the same way, when you say
Akul, the one who is a voracious eater,
he eats a lot.
Jahul, Akul, Fahum, the one who understands very
well.
Ghavub, the one who gets angry extremely.
He is temperamental, he loses his temper quickly.
He is Ghavub.
So the Qur'an uses that in Surah
Al-Ahzab, and this we covered last time.
Also, the Qur'an uses the noun of
the manner, which we call Ism Al-Hay
'ah, the manner, the way.
So the Qur'an uses Jahalah.
Jahalah, that means you do something while you
are in a state of ignorance.
When you did that, you were in the
form or you are in a state of
ignorance.
As Allah said in Surah An-Nisa 17,
الذين يعملون السوء بجهالة.
When they commit sins, they commit the sins
while they are in a state of ignorance
at that moment.
So, that we covered already.
Today, inshallah, we will, because it is very
important, my dear brothers and sisters, to understand
the meanings of each word and the roots
of the word.
So then you will formulate and you will
have a comprehensive understanding of the meaning of
Jahiliyyah.
What do we mean when we say Jahiliyyah?
In a nutshell, actually, as we are going
to now, Jahiliyyah, when you are far away
and you shun and you desert the divine
guidance.
And you sever the link between you and
the divine guidance.
And you follow your whims and desires.
That is, in a nutshell, as we are
going to now.
There are different aspects in the Quran and
ways in which the Quran talks about the
various aspects or meanings of Jahiliyyah.
The Quran talks about the evil thoughts of
the people of Jahiliyyah.
The judgment of Jahiliyyah.
This is used in the Quran.
Women displaying their beauty in the same way
the women of Jahiliyyah used to do.
Hamiyyat al-Jahiliyyah, to have this pride and
tribal spirit.
This is called Hamiyyat al-Jahiliyyah, the pride
of the days of Jahiliyyah.
So let us go through all these different
ways or aspects
the Quran mentions about Jahiliyyah.
And we begin with Dhann al-Jahiliyyah.
Dhann al-Jahiliyyah.
Remember Dhann al-Jahiliyyah.
Dhann means when you are not 100%
sure.
Remember the ways we
comprehend things.
Either we become certain about things and that
is called Ilm.
Because we talked about the meaning of Ilm,
to know things as they are, as they
really do exist in the real world.
That's Ilm, certainty.
And the opposite of it is ignorance, Jahl.
Then we have Dhann, which is guessing, conjecturing.
It is less than the certainty, less than
the Ilm.
It's about you are 60% and 40
% you are in a state of doubt.
So that is called Dhann.
And then you have the Shaq, which is
doubt.
When it is 50-50, 50% you
are certain, 50% you are uncertain.
So Dhann al-Jahiliyyah, to have evil thoughts
about Allah.
Because you don't think, you don't have good
thoughts about Allah.
And this shows the lack of knowledge about
Allah because you don't know your Creator.
So that's why you have evil thoughts about
Him.
This is called Dhann al-Jahiliyyah.
And a Muslim should always have good thoughts
about Allah.
He should not think bad about Allah or
have an evil thought about Allah.
He should not think that Allah will desert
the Muslims.
He should not think that Allah will desert
the believers.
He should not think that Allah will make
the disbelievers always have the upper hand upon
the believers.
He should not think that Allah will allow
the disbelievers to wipe out the believers.
If you have any of these thoughts, that
is evil thoughts, that is Dhann al-Jahiliyyah.
Because we have no doubt that this deen
and Islam is going to supersede, is going
to prevail as Allah promised.
In spite of our weakness and what we
are going through, this is a test for
us.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is putting
us through all these tribulations and tests so
that we come back to Him.
And once we come back to Him, He
will grant us what He promised.
What Allah said.
Allah doesn't break His promise.
It is truly imposed upon ourselves.
Allah imposed upon Himself subhanahu wa ta'ala.
He made it a right for us upon
Him, though we don't have any right on
Him.
He said truly I am going to grant
the Nasr, the victory, to whom?
The believers.
So we have to actualize the iman, then
you will deserve what Allah promised.
Do not feel weak.
Neither feel weak nor grieved.
Feel sorry.
Feel sad.
And you are going to be victorious, triumphant.
You are going to have the upper hand
over your enemies.
But when?
What is the condition?
If you are truly to believe us.
So we should not have any evil thought
that this deen, my dear brothers and sisters,
will prevail.
That this deen, Allah is He, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala, He is the one who
sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion
of truth and the deen of truth and
the way of truth.
He is going to make it so that
it will prevail over all other ways of
life, all ideologies, all systems.
So we should not have dhann al-jahiliyya,
having this evil thought and entertain it in
your mind.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in
surah al-imran, ayah 154, Allah says, They
think that Allah is not the truth.
Dhann al-jahiliyya.
They say, is there any matter for us?
Say, the matter is all for Allah.
They hide in themselves what they do not
reveal to you.
They say, if we had any matter, we
would not have been killed here.
Say, if you were in your homes, those
who were killed would have come out to
their beds, and Allah would have tested what
was in your *, and He would have
purified what was in your hearts.
And Allah is All-Knowing of that which
is in the *.
The meaning, then after distress, this is regarding
one of the battles.
So Allah described what the hypocrites were going
through and the evil thoughts they were entertaining
in their minds.
Then after distress, Allah sent down serenity
in the form of the drowsiness overcoming some
of you.
This happened in the battle of Badr.
While others were disturbed by evil thoughts about
Allah, the thoughts of the pre-Islamic ignorance.
Dhann al-jahiliyya, the ignorance and the thoughts
of the jahiliyya.
They asked the hypocrites, asking themselves, do we
have a say in the matter?
Do we have a say in the matter
in this situation?
Say, O Prophet, all matters are destined by
Allah.
They conceal in their hearts what they do
not reveal to you.
They say to themselves, if we had any
say in the matter, none of us would
have come to die here.
Say, O Prophet, those among you who were
destined to be killed would have met the
same fate.
Through this Allah tests what is within you
and purifies what is in your heart.
And Allah knows best what is hidden in
the heart.
Let us reflect.
So the Muslims, they came out.
They didn't come out to fight.
But Allah decreed something else.
And now they are confronted with the pagans,
the Quraysh, outnumbering them.
What to do?
What Allah decreed is going to pass.
So the Prophet, he turned to Allah, started
to cry and to pray to Him and
begging Him for protection.
On the day of Bajaj and also on
the Khandaq as well, the Battle of the
Trench.
The hypocrites say the same thing.
So on the day of Bajaj, the Prophet,
he cried to Allah.
And he was praying and crying, praying and
crying.
Telling Allah, if this group, the Muslims, all
the Muslims on the earth are here.
If they are wiped out, you will not
be worshipped after today.
And Allah accepted the supplications of his Prophet
and heard his crying and sent down the
angels supporting the Muslims, fighting along with the
Muslims.
So Allah sent down upon the Sahaba.
He sent upon you after the distress, after
that state of despair, at that moment, which
is the feeling, the natural feeling of human
beings, seeing their enemies outnumbering them.
So what Allah did?
Peace of mind, serenity, peace of mind,
this drowsiness, slumber, light
sleep, which is
overcoming some of you.
So those who got this nu'as, this
short period of this drowsiness, this light sleep,
were refreshed.
Refreshed.
And their iman strengthened.
Another group, the hypocrites who are among you.
So the other group who are disturbed by
these evil thoughts going through their minds, because
the munafiq is a coward person.
He doesn't want to die.
The munafiq doesn't want to die.
He wants to live.
And now he is seeing death there, displayed
before his eyes.
So he's afraid.
So Allah described them, he said, and the
group, while others were disturbed by the evil
thoughts about Allah, thoughts of jahiliyyah, thoughts of
the people who do not know Allah.
Thoughts of people who do not know that
Allah is the most powerful.
Who do not know that Allah is al
-hafidh, the protector, the defender.
Thoughts of people who do not know that
victory comes from Allah.
Victory is not given because you have weapons,
high-tech weapons, more than your enemies.
You might have high-tech weapons, sophisticated ones,
more than your enemies, and you are defeated
because Allah is not on your side.
Allah is not supporting you and helping you.
So the victory always comes from Allah.
So the munafiqeen, those who are ignorant, they
were entertaining these evil thoughts in their minds,
the evil thoughts of the people of ignorance
who do not know Allah.
That Allah will never desert His Prophet and
forsake him and his companions.
Do we have a say in the matter?
They are talking among themselves.
They say, do we have a say in
the matter?
Do we have a say in the matter?
Allah answered that question.
All say of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam
to them, Inna al-amra kullahu lillah.
The entire matter to Allah.
No, you have no say in the matter.
You are His servant and He is the
King and whatever He wants happens.
And whatever He decreed is going to pass.
They hide, they conceal in themselves what they
do not show to you.
What they reveal, what they pretend, they harbour
in their hearts the opposite.
They conceal the opposite.
See the beauty.
This is a concrete evidence that this is
Allah's token.
Who is watching and seeing what is going
on in their minds and hearts.
And He is telling His Prophet.
And then the Prophet is reading to them
that this is what you were going through.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam didn't know
that this is what they were thinking.
That's what Allah said.
You didn't know what they were concealing in
their hearts.
They say, if we had a say in
the matter, we would not have been killed
here.
In other words, we will be saved.
That's what they say.
If we had any say in the matter,
none of us would have come to die
here.
If we had a say in the matter,
we would not have come with the Prophet
to die here.
Because they don't want to die.
The answer to that question, and that belief,
and that evil thought, Allah's token, if
you were in your homes, in your houses,
on your beds, among your loved ones, Allah
Akbar.
Allah Akbar.
Say, O Prophet, even if you were to
remain in your homes, those who are, Allah
decreed that they are going to die, those
among you who were destined to be killed
would have met the same fate.
Cannot escape.
And this is, my dear brothers and sisters,
the fruit of the belief in the Qadha
al-Qadha.
The belief in the Qadha al-Qadha gives
the Muslim huge power, strength,
because he knows for sure, I will not
die before my day.
My day is fixed.
I cannot delay it, postpone it, or bring
it earlier.
So why should I fear evil?
Why should I feel afraid of others?
So this boosts the morale of the Muslim.
And when he enters the battlefield, to him
it is a win-win situation.
If it is my day, it is my
day.
If it is not my day, one of
the two.
If it is my day, victory.
If it is not my day, victory.
Win-win situation.
This is how the Muslim, and this is
what buzzles the non-Muslims.
And this is what they want the Muslims
not to have.
That's why they are working around the clock.
How to keep the Muslims away from their
deen, from their Islam, from the correct understanding
of Islam.
The moment they come back to Islam, finished.
The moment the giant started to move, no
one can stop it.
So how to allay the giant?
How to tranquilize the giant?
How to keep the giant asleep?
Giving them drugs.
Inject them continuously with drugs.
I mean intoxication, not the drugs which you
take.
Intoxicate them by sins, by giving them.
Overwhelm them with the haram.
Facilitate the haram for them.
Make the women to commit haram.
Make the women to leave the deen.
Make the women to leave the hijab.
Make their youth to become feminists.
Lose their masculinity.
Lose their manhood.
And this is what they are doing.
Because they know.
They know.
If the Muslims understand their Islam, the Islam
that was taught to them by their prophet,
the Islam that the sahaba were upon, Allah
will be on their side.
So the belief in qada and qajar, my
dear brothers and sisters, gives the mu'min that
strong faith and strong momentum and
push forward.
Motivation, it motivates them.
You know that in one of the battles
between the Muslims and the Romans, and
the Muslims when they saw the army of
the Romans, you cannot see the end of
the army.
And the first rows are the priests, the
clergymen, carrying their Bibles, reading and praising the
Lord and praying for the army for victory.
So when Sayyidina Zubayr, he saw that facial
expressions of the Muslims, he decided to boost
their morale.
How to boost their morale and uplift the
spirit, the fighting spirit, he headed towards the
enemy.
Sayyidina Zubayr.
And Sayyidina Zubayr is one of those, the
prophet said, that Zubayr and others, that he
is equivalent to one thousand horsemen.
So he decided to penetrate the army of
the kuffar and he was immersed into the
army.
He went like an arrow and disappeared to
the extent that the Sahaba said, because there
is no, there is zero chance for him
to come out alive, zero chance to come
out alive.
To their surprise, he came out.
He went through, came out.
Then he went and came out.
And then he went.
When they saw him and he, Sayyidina Zubayr,
used to fight simultaneously with two swords at
the same time.
So when they saw Zubayr doing this, they
said, the Romans are really so weak.
If one of us can do that, how
about us?
And their morale was boosted.
Sayyidina Zubayr, he immersed himself among that ocean
of horsemen and fighters.
Thousands of swords are waiting for him to
mince him.
And he went because he was sure if
it is not his day, he will come
out alive.
And that's what happened.
So this is the belief in Qadha and
Qadha.
It gives you positivity and it strengthens your
Iman.
So Allah said here, when they said, had
we any say in the matter, we would
not have come out here to die.
So Allah told his prophet, tell them, even
if you were to remain in your home,
those among you who were destined to be
killed would have made the same fate.
My dear brothers and sisters, we are going
to die.
We are going to die.
Each one of us is going to taste
it.
So it is better you die in a
way that pleases Allah.
You die upon al-Islam.
You die upon al-Islam because you are
going to die.
But to die while you are away from
the deen, away from al-Islam, to die
while you are sinning, that is a bad
ending.
But to die and meet Allah and Allah
is happy and pleased with you, that's the
best death.
Best death.
Because the reality is that all of us
will die.
As an Arab poet said, He
who is not killed by the sword will
die because of another cause.
There are many causes, but death is only
once.
Many causes, car accident, COVID-19, sugar, blood
sugar, high blood pressure, just causes.
But death is only once.
Then Allah said, Those
who love grammar, you see this Alam, this
is the letter of Nasab.
This Alam for justification, giving the reasons.
So why Allah?
Oh Allah, why you put us through this?
He said, the reason, the justification for this,
So that Allah knows what you have in
your chest.
This is the Alam Al-Ta'leel.
That's why the present tense is Mansub, Al
-Fathah.
So this is it.
The reason Allah tells us to check and
to verify.
This is what verification, Ta'leel, justification and
verification.
So that Allah knows what you hold in
your heart.
See, again, because it is the connector.
So the first one was Mansub.
This is also the same thing like that
one.
So Allah is saying, through this test, Allah
tests what is within you and verifies what
is in your heart.
And Allah knows best what is hidden
in the heart.
So this entertaining evil thoughts about Allah
actually springs from the disbelief in Qadr.
You don't believe in Qadr.
That's why you have evil thoughts.
See, in Islam, we don't say if something
happened.
We don't say if.
We don't cry over spilt milk.
It is already spilt.
But we say, Allah decreed and what He
willed happened.
He did what He willed.
He did what He decreed.
So that gives us relief.
This is Allah's plan.
We don't say if, if, if.
Because the if will open the door for
the shaitan and you will just have sadness.
And you know, what happened, happened.
And you could not stop it.
Yes, we take precautions before we do anything.
Most of the accidents, incidents are avoidable.
So we have to take all the precautionary
measures, safety measures to protect ourselves.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, though his
tawakkul upon Allah is 100%, yet he wore
and put the helmet in the battles.
So he placed the helmet over his head.
He put and wore the armour, metal armour.
On one of the battles, he was wearing
two armours.
He had the shield.
So he took all the precautionary measures and
the means to defend himself.
In spite of all this, on the Battle
of Badr, you know what happened to him.
He was wounded.
And his molar tooth was broken.
When he wanted to migrate from Mecca to
Medina, he took all the precautions.
He migrated secretly without letting anyone to know.
He stayed for a few days in the
cave.
He used the informants and informers, Abdullah ibn
Abi Bakr.
During the day, he would listen and collect
the news and what Quraysh are saying.
And in the evening, he would go and
report.
So he was following what the enemies were
doing and planning.
A snare will come when the night falls
with the food, so no one sees that.
The shepherd, he would bring the sheep for
milking and then he will go away with
the sheep so that footprints will not be
shown because they will only see the traces
of the sheep.
So he took all the precautions.
So this is what the Muslim should do.
When you sit in your car and in
the seat, you buckle the seat belt and
you see the mirrors and you check the
pressure in the tyres and all that stuff.
You will speed according to the speed limit.
It's all these things.
You check the car.
But on top of that, if something happened.
So if you have evil thoughts in your
mind about Allah, that means your understanding of
this pillar of Iman is not right.
Abu Talha said, regarding this, we
were overwhelmed by the drowsiness, the nu'as,
while we were facing the enemies.
He said, He said, my sword dropped many
times because I was drowsy.
SubhanAllah.
So Allah gave the sahaba this to strengthen
them and to make them feel refreshed.
So he said, the sword fell many times.
And then he said, and the hypocrites, they
were only thinking evil about Allah.
Except that, how to save ourselves?
He said, ajbanu qawm, they are the most
coward.
The hypocrites are the most coward.
And the mu'min should not be coward.
Should be brave.
Ajbanu qawm, they are the most coward.
The weakest.
They desert you.
They leave you.
They betray you.
They think evil about Allah.
The evil thoughts of Jahiliyyah.
They are liars.
They are full of doubts.
And this is of course, this zann al
-jahiliyyah, having this evil thought about Allah, what
causes it?
What is the root cause of it?
Ba'ath al-iman.
And the iman is so weak.
Oh, shaitan finds a chance now to fill
your head with these evil thoughts because your
iman is weak.
The issue, as SubhanAllah I told you, our
Shaykh Mustafa Makki rahimallah, ba'ath al-mabghut,
if your iman is this strong, it will
pressurize you, the iman will pressurize you to
stand up for the haqq, to support the
haqq, defend the haqq, tell the haqq.
But if it is weak, it is under
your thumb.
You are controlling it.
And the shaitan will tell you, no, no,
don't talk, don't say this, don't say that.
Use hikmah.
Hikmah nowadays became a way of justifying cowardice.
To justify our cowardice, we call that hikmah.
Hiding the truth is hikmah.
Stop enjoying what is good is hikmah.
Deserting al-amr bil ma'ruf is hikmah.
This is what the shaitan, when the Prophet
ﷺ said, when the munkar, when evil becomes
widespread and people see it, it is visible
to everyone, the evil, corruption, immorality, everywhere, haram,
everywhere.
Everyone sees it.
So when it becomes widespread and rampant and
people do not change it, then all will
be lashed.
Azaab from Allah will hit all of them.
The pious and the impious, the pious, the
righteous and the wicked, all of them.
Because the righteous are turning and giving the
blind eye.
We don't see.
We don't see.
Why?
Because we love the dunya.
We love the dunya.
We love this complacency.
So we have the wahan, the weakness in
our hearts.
As the Prophet ﷺ said, Allah will remove
that mahaba that used to have Allah to
put in the hearts of the enemies that
they fear, the Muslims, that will be removed.
And Allah fills the hearts of the Muslims
with al-wahan.
So the enemies, they are not afraid of
the Muslims because Allah removes that fear they
used to have and being in a state
of fear.
Allah removes it and He fills the hearts
of the Muslims with wahan, weakness.
So the Sahaba, they asked, what is the
wahan?
What is this weakness?
He said, hubb al-dunya wa qarahiyat al
-mawt.
The love of the dunya.
Because you will love the dunya more than
your deen.
So you compromise.
You sell the deen.
No problem to lose the deen.
No problem.
Just let me live.
I want to enjoy life.
Hubb al-dunya wa qarahiyat al-mawt.
You hate to die.
And everyone knows himself.
What is there in my heart?
Do I have the wahan?
I love the dunya and I don't mind
losing the deen.
I don't mind Muslims leaving the deen.
I don't enjoy what is right.
I don't forbid what is evil.
Everyone knows himself.
So this, many of us today have it.
Evil thoughts about Allah.
No tawakkul.
No yaqeen.
No total reliance on Him.
Putting your trust in Him totally.
Because the iman is weak.
May Allah strengthen our iman and your iman.
So this is the root cause of this
mann al-jahiliyyah.
Entertaining evil thoughts about Allah.
When the iman is strong, you
don't entertain such evil thoughts.
He stood up by himself.
When the Arabs and other tribes started to
refuse to give the zakah.
You know that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam told the Muslims to go and fight
the Romans.
And the commander of the army, the ameer,
is Usama.
He was young boy.
Young man.
And then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
he fell sick.
So the army was on the outer skirts
of Medina waiting to know about the situation
of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed
away and Abu Bakr az-Zino was appointed
as Khalifa.
And then the tribes started leaving Islam and
not paying the zakah.
And Abu Bakr, he said, I will fight
them.
So they told him, okay, now you need
the army of Usama.
So stop the army and use that army
to fight them.
He said, how can you say that?
A flag was tied on the pole by
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
You want me to untie it?
What's wrong with you?
I will send the army as the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam commanded.
And he came out.
And he was working barefooted.
And Usama is riding.
And Usama wanted to dismount.
He said, stay where you are.
Let my feet be covered by the dust.
And then he said, by Allah, I will
fight them by myself if no one wants
to fight with me.
This is the Iman.
He said, how come that the deen will
diminish and reduce while I am alive?
No, no.
Deen should remain supreme and high.
This is what the Iman does, my dear
brothers and sisters.
The Iman is weak.
And the wahan is there in the heart.
And you don't know that you're going to
die.
And then you meet Allah.
And Allah is angry with you.
Because you did not defend his deen to
the best of your ability.
You didn't.
You didn't enjoin what is good.
You didn't forbid what is evil.
May Allah reform our situation.
And guide all of us.
So this is the root cause, my dear
brothers, of banu jahiliyyah.
And also the weak aqeedah.
When you have weak aqeedah in your heart,
a lack of trust, thiqa and confidence in
Allah, then you start entertaining evil thoughts.
Evil thoughts.
And you fear the human beings more than
you fear Allah.
Because your aqeedah is so feeble, so weak.
Faith is shaky.
So this is the root cause.
Because as Sayyidina Abu Huraira said, al-qalbu
malik wal-a'ba'u junudu.
The heart is the king and the rest
of the limbs are the subjects of the
king.
So if the king is firm, the subjects
remain firm.
But if the king runs away, the limbs
will follow him.
The subjects.
If the heart is trembling, the limbs will
react and do the same thing.
But if the heart is firm, that's it.
All the limbs in peace.
This is because of the iman.
But this heart, this king is communicating, there's
live communication with the creator.
Linked to the creator.
Attached.
The heart is connected there.
They are seeing the truth of the pharaoh
behind them and the sea before them.
So they are saying to Musa alayhi salam,
his people are saying, we are going to
be captured.
Truth behind.
I have my Rabb with me.
My Lord with me.
I am in the witness of Allah.
If one of them looks at his feet,
he would see us.
One of the two in the cave, he
was consoling Sayyidina Abu Bakr.
Do not grieve for Abu Bakr.
Why?
Allah is with us.
So this is what the aqidah does.
Aqidah is not lip service.
Aqidah has to change this entire being and
create this positivity and this husnban about Allah.
Absence of good aqidah, sound aqidah, sound belief,
then you don't have trust and fiqh in
Allah.
And what he prepared for you, the mu'min,
he sold this nafs for Allah.
He made a deal with Allah.
He sold it for Allah.
Because Allah purchased our soul, purchased our life.
May Allah fill our hearts with husnban and
make us always have husnban, good thoughts about
Allah and strengthen our iman.
May Allah keep us steadfast on this beautiful
day.
May Allah guide our ummah to the haqq.
May Allah unite our hearts to the haqq.
May Allah forgive us our faults and mistakes
and ignore us.
May Allah elevate your status in the dunya
and in the hereafter.
May Allah reward all of you, my dear
brothers and sisters, immensely for your patience and
attendance.
May Allah bless you.
May Allah grant you good health.
May Allah's peace, mercy, and blessings be upon
you.
Okay, the first question, shaykh.
Salaam alaikum, shaykh.
Me and my family's health is not well
from the past few days.
Please make dua for us and for all
the Muslims around the world.
It's a request for dua, shaykh.
The next one.
Salaam alaikum, shaykh.
May Allah grant
a quick recovery for all the Muslims
who are suffering, all the Muslims who are
sick.
Ameen.
Yes, brother.
Okay, the question, salaam alaikum.
Which is better, doing lots of righteous deeds
or refraining from what is forbidden?
No doubt, refraining from what is forbidden.
What is the benefit of doing Nawafil deeds
while you are doing haram?
Because when you leave the haram, then the
Nawafil will be accepted.
But if you are involved in the haram,
then Nawafil will not be accepted.
So we need to leave the haram first.
Muslims should stay away from the haram.
The best deeds that will bring us closer
to Allah is the wajibat, what Allah made
mandatory and obligatory in the Nawafil.
Among the things that are mandatory is to
quit the haram, not to carry on doing
the haram.
Because doing the haram, Allah will not accept
the deeds at all.
He will not accept them.
And we know that in the hadith, the
man raised his hands, O Allah, O Allah,
O Allah, crying to Allah.
His food is haram.
He was clothed with haram clothes, bought by
haram income.
How can Allah respond and accept his supplications?
So the first thing, my dear brothers and
sisters, what our ummah is in need of
is that we have to repent collectively.
All the ummah, they need to repent and
make tawbah and quit the haram and come
back to Allah.
And each one of us, each one of
us who sins, he delays what Allah promised.
Each one who commits a sin, he delays
what Allah promised and the establishment of the
deal.
So each one should say, I am the
culprit.
Because of my sins, this is what is
happening to the Muslims, because of me.
At the time of Sayyidina Umar bin Khattab,
there was a minor earthquake that happened in
Medina.
See what Sayyidina Umar did.
He called the sahaba immediately and he said,
You started to sin?
By Allah.
If it happens again, I know how to
deal with you.
Sayyidina Umar, he linked the earthquake with the
sins of the people.
Next question.
We go to the next question.
This question is on behalf of a sister.
I saw three strands of hair on my
leg popping out of a sock.
I ignored it as my trouser would cover
them.
What if it got exposed as I did
sujood?
Since that day I ignored this hair, but
today again I saw it on my sock.
What is the validity of my salah?
Inshallah your salah is correct.
But make sure that your whole body is
covered.
Don't treat covering your body lightly in the
salah.
The Prophet said, The entire body of a
woman is awrah.
So the awrah needs to be covered.
So a woman should be covered in the
salah.
Make sure that apart from her hands and
her face, the entire body is covered.
Next.
Brothers and sisters, if you have any further
questions, please send them in right now.
Alternatively you can press on raise hand and
we can take verbal questions also.
That was our final question for tonight's session.
Jazakallah khair.
If you would like to conclude, inshallah.
Jazakallah khair.
May Allah bless you.
May Allah bless your family.
May Allah protect you.
Protect your family.
May Allah elevate your status in this world.
May Allah grant a quick recovery and shifa
for all the Muslims who are sick.
Whether because of COVID-19 or any other
illness.
Ameen.
May Allah bless us with beneficent and righteous
deeds.
May Allah keep us steadfast from this beautiful
deen of Islam and make us die upon
it.
Ameen.
May Allah forgive us our faults and mistakes
and ignorance.
Until we meet inshallah in the coming session,
I leave you in Allah's company and protection.
Bi hurmati l-Habib, bi hurmati l-Fatiha.
