Brothers and sisters, may Allah
bless us with the best in this world
and the next.
We as human beings, no matter how successful
we become,
no matter how strong we become, how intelligent
we become, how wealthy we become,
one thing remains the same, and that is
that we will always be
we will always be people who are in
dire need,
who are poor, and in need of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala at all times.
As Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala tells us in
the Quran,
Oh people,
you are the ones who are poor and
in need of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
and Allah is the self sufficient, the one
who is always praised.
We need to stop and understand who Allah
is.
Allah is the one who possesses divinity,
the sovereign over his entire creation,
which means that Allah is the true deity,
the true Lord, the one who deserves worship.
Allah is love for who he is. He
is praised for who he is.
And if we add to that the tremendous
blessings
Allah has showered us with, his mercy that
descends upon us,
his forgiveness
that he shows us,
his forbearance
that he does not punish us when we
make mistakes, and he gives us time to
turn back to him. It makes us understand
that there is no one worthy of worship
except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and that we
turn our attention, our worship to him alone
and to nobody else.
And to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala belongs all
the beautiful names and attributes. His names and
attributes are perfect, they are complete, and all
his names and attributes go back to the
name Allah, the true Lord.
And from his names that he tells us
in this ayah is
the self sufficient.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
the self sufficient, the rich.
He is completely independent
of his creation. He does not need their
aid, their help in running his kingdom.
Despite how vast the kingdom of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala is, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala alone
is in charge. He alone runs the affairs
of everything,
and he is Al Hamid,
the one who is praised, the one who
is praised for his actions,
for his sayings, for what he legislated,
for what he decreed.
If he wanted to, he could get rid
of us,
and bring another creation, and that is not
difficult for Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
The fact that you and I exist today
is because Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala wants us
to be here. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala did
not create us for no reason,
but there is a reason, there is a
purpose behind our creation and that is for
us to know Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, to
love
Allah to depend on
Allah for all our needs,
and to worship him
without any partners.
And this is a time when we need
to understand that. And this time that we
have,
we need to utilize it in the best
manner.
Because today, we have time and we can
do,
but tomorrow, there's gonna be accountability.
And we have to take responsibility for our
actions
because no one is gonna be able to
help us on yumul qiyama.
And even if a person is being crushed
by his sins,
even his closest relative will be of no
help to him on yawmul qiyama. Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala promised those individuals who believe and
strive to do good, he promised them with
Jannah.
But those who turn away, who disbelieve, who
don't do the righteous actions, Allah
warn them of a punishment that's to come.
Our actions have consequences,
and nobody will be able to help us
on that day when we stand in front
of Allah
And this is why we need to wake
up and understand that there's a purpose to
life. We need to take responsibility for our
actions,
but not everybody benefits from the Quran.
The Quran is the truth, but not everyone
benefits from the Quran. Quran. So who are
those individuals who benefit from the Quran?
Allah is telling the prophet
that you only warn those individuals
who fear their Lord
inwardly,
those individuals who fear Allah
despite not having seen him, but they know
that Allah
is watching them, and they established the salah.
These are the individuals who benefit from the
Quran, who understand, who know who Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala is. Because in order to have
that awe of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, in
order to have that fear, that love,
that servitude towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, a
person has to know who Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala is. And when a person knows who
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is,
they establish the rights of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. They do the things that Allah subhanahu
told them to do, and the most important
of it is to establish the salah.
These are the individuals
who benefit from the teachings of the Quran.
The Quran is their guidance system. It shows
them the path to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
What Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants from us,
expects from us, what he loves, what he
told us to stay away from. And in
the Quran
is our success,
is everything that we need to live a
beautiful life.
And when we act upon the teachings of
the Quran,
we are the ones who are benefiting. Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala does not need us.
Those individuals who purify themselves from shirk, from
sins, they only benefit themselves by doing good.
They are the ones who benefit from this
Ibadah.
They get reward in this world and the
next happiness,
peace of mind,
certainty in the promise of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
And by doing all this good,
they earned the mercy of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala which enters them into Jannah.
And all of the affairs return to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala. It begins with him, it
ends with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
When we understand who Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is, we understand his ghanid, the self sufficient,
alhamid, the one who is praised and understand
all of his names and attributes that they
are perfect and complete.
And we understand our state, our essence, who
we are. We are
people who are in dire need of Allah
at all times.
And this is actually something beautiful
because regardless if we accept it or not,
this is the truth.
When a person understands who Allah
is, and that understanding
internalizes
and goes into their heart,
then they understand the greatness of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala
and they understand that they are nobody,
that they need Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for
everything.
We are so needy, we need food, we
need drink, we need to sleep, we need
to breathe. If Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala took
away oxygen, how would we survive? Even the
richest person in this world
needs Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. They need to
eat, they need shelter, they need people to
utilize their services, they need people to buy
their product. And when the person who acknowledges
this fact, they turn to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala who is the almighty, the powerful, the
one who the one who has everything.
And they depend on him and they ask
from him. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala promise to
give them, to answer their supplication. And they
depend on Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala alone. They
are servants of the most high.
And this is something that is honorable
because they are servants of the creator. They
are not servants to their desires, to
money, to people, to ideologies,
but rather they are servants to Allah
And to recap,
we are the people who are completely in
need of
Allah. Therefore, we need to turn to him,
we need to depend on Allah.
We need to ask him for any and
everything that we desire, for guidance, for wealth,
for happiness,
for success in this world and the next.
We need to also understand that this is
the time for action, and that nobody will
be able to help us on yulmur qiyama,
so we need to take responsibility
and start preparing for that day. And let's
be from amongst those people who benefit from
the teachings of the Quran.
Look at the Quran, read the Quran, reflect
over the Quran, understand the Quran, and implement
the Quran.
Because in it lies our success in this
world and the next. May Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala give us understanding of the Quran. May
He make us amongst His special slaves.
Until next
time.
