Omer El-Hamdoon – Naming of Quranic Chapters #19 Chapters 30 Romans 34 Saba

Wallah? Today, we're going to be looking at the naming of two swarm, which are named after a group
of people if you like, or a tribe. And can you guess who they are? Yes,
		

			they are. So they are the chapter over whom the Romans and the other one is Sabbath.
		

			Sabbath and a room room is Surah number 30. And the other one is 34. Now Allah Subhana Allah tells
us about cyber and the story about Salah is quite an interesting one said about where a tribe, a big
tribe in fight in Yemen. And in until today you have Yemenis calling their daughter cyber as a form
of continuation of this, but actually they have a negative
		

			mentioned in the Quran. Why do they have a negative mentioned gram because they were actually an
example of people who are ungrateful to Allah subhanho wa Taala. So when you read the story of
Sabah, you can see how Allah Subhana Allah mentions how he has given them great things, he gave
them, some gardens he gave them, he made the distances between, you know, different cities almost
like made them a central place or easy access to others, but they rejected that they were ungrateful
to Allah Subhana Allah so Allah punished them with their ingratitude, bye, replacing what they had
of goodness with with other things. And that surah almost has that theme to it because then on the
		

			other hand, the last panel talks about Tao Wu Dalai Salim and Sulaiman who are actually Allah gave
them as well, like Saba, but they were grateful to a loss and how they used what Allah gave them of
Nam, to make good things to, to praise Allah Subhana Allah to make all these different items, which
again are mentioned in salsa. So they used the name of Allah for goodness contrast that was said
about who are ungrateful so Allah Subhana, Allah made their mentioned in the Quran. Even though the
surah is named after them, it doesn't mean that they were favorable a community but rather, they
were an example to others. And also you can read more in the surah how last Pattaya talks that Allah
		

			is the one who gives the result to whom he wants, and he holds it back home to whom we want. And the
last pantalla is the one who will, you know, will account everybody. So that's the story of Subbu.
And his deed is, it's a very interesting, I mean, I mentioned the story, but the reasoning of the
naming of this chapter after these people, so it is a it is a good good reflection to ponder upon.
And as for our room, well, it's the mention of the Romans. Now, anyone who has studied anything in
history would have known how the Romans were a great empire, you know, they were very, very well
equipped, they had massive military might. And they used all of that to roam the land, they took
		

			over they
		

			subdued people made them their subjects, you know, they came, they were, they were in the UK, they
came here to the UK, they controlled vast amounts of Europe, and indeed, North Africa, and they
extended well into some of Eurasia as well. So they, they were a big, big people. Yet, Allah Subhana
Allah reminds us that these Romans, who who roamed the land, look at their situation, now, they
hardly have an existence, in fact, they no longer exist. And that is the nature of history, that is
the nature of time to kill a young widow widow have been a nurse that you know, time rotates. While
sometimes it's for you, sometimes it's against you. And Allah mentions in the Quran that, you know,
		

			they were people who constructed the land, you know, what, amaru ha karami mahama, they went and
they constructed and they made and they built. And in fact, today even you go throughout the wells,
and you'll see the ruins of the Romans there, you know, you'll see them in different places in
countries like, you know, you go to Syria, you'll find them you'll go to North Africa, you'll go to,
you know, to even to Scotland, you'll find the remains of the Romans, but then as a people there is
their control has gone and as I like what Allah wants us to, you know, to look at this and to
understand the aspects of time and how laws of Hanoi to Allah. You know, nobody, nobody will have
		

			anything static, nobody will be stationary within time. All the superpowers even the British Empire,
you know, British Empire, were reached as far as you know, Hong Kong and India and Australia and all
these areas. Look at the British Empire. Now. It's become all you know, old
		

			densed and even now it's coming out of Europe is coming becoming even more, you know, smaller. And
similarly, even the Islamic, if we will call it an empire, Islamic empire or the Islamic
		

			you know, Caliphate also look where it reached and how far extent and look at it now, and this is
the reality of, you know, of people have you know the communities, they expand and they contract.
And what's interesting as well if you read the end of sort of Rome or last pantile talks about you,
the human, how you also expand and contract you start off Allah says, we created him weak, you
started off weak have no ability, then you had your power, you had your your Shabaab, your youth
your strength, and you went back weak again, and old age. So even you as an individual, you expand
and you contract that is the nature of life. And that is the nature of reality. It should be a
		

			lesson for everyone and the person. What is the lesson? The lesson is that when you are in your full
mind when you are in your full power, use that for the goodness, use that for goodness, establish
work construct for the betterment of yourself and society and be grateful to Allah Subhana Allah
Don't be like sever, otherwise the nammo would be changed and you will lose everything. Does that
