Mustafa Khattab – Mistranslated Verses Of The Quran Surah Fatiha6

			So, Alum Alaykum Surah Fatiha Surah number 1,
		

			the opening,
		

			is is a very important Surah in the
		

			Quran. It is probably the most important Surah.
		

			We read this chapter,
		

			a total of 17 times in our 5
		

			daily prayers. So it's a very important,
		

			chapter
		

			but there is a verse that is commonly
		

			mistranslated.
		

			Verse number 6, Ihdinas Surat Al Mustaqim.
		

			Ihdinas guide us. Surat Al Mustaqim is a
		

			straight path.
		

			So it's everyone says in their translation or
		

			most of the translators, they say, Guide us
		

			to the straight path, which means that the
		

			believers are not actually on the straight path,
		

			and they're asking Allah to guide them to
		

			that path.
		

			This is not correct because the ayah does
		

			not say,
		

			Guide us to the straight path. It says,
		

			So this proposition is not there in the
		

			verse which means they are already on that
		

			straight path.
		

			So the actual meaning of the ayah,
		

			guide us along the straight path. They are
		

			already on the path, but they are asking
		

			Allah to keep them on that path and
		

			to guide them along this path. So this
		

			is the best translation. Thank you.
