Alhamdulillah, everyone is smiling Alhamdulillah, we have no
victims.
I feel we got everyone here Alhamdulillah.
So, tonight we'll be talking about one of
the beautiful names of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
that is always misunderstood,
which is Al Jabbar.
We know that the word Jabbar is sometimes
used to refer to a tyrant,
when you say Fulan is Jabbar in Nafi'haqam
and Jabberin, tyrants.
But when this name is used with Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, it refers to something totally
different, so it's actually a beautiful name.
The name Jabbar has 2 main,
Yali,
meanings, Ma'ali, in the Arabic language.
One of them is
I have a plan, you have a plan,
and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has the ultimate
plan. Fahu al Jabbar,
everything goes according to His plan,
and everyone and everything is subject to His
will. This is the meaning of Al Jabbar.
The second meaning
comes from the root word Jabara,
so the word Jabbar in the Arabic language,
you know when someone falls down and they
break their neck or they break the leg
and they go to the hospital and they
put a cast to them. So this cast
in the Arabic language is called Jabira.
So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to you,
in difficult times, when you are abused, when
you are persecuted, when you are going through
a difficult time, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to
you, is what the cast to someone with
a broken arm or the broken leg. So
He will comfort you, and He will console
you, and He will support you and take
care of you in this difficult time. So
this is the meaning of Al Jabbar.
The the one who takes care of the
weak, the oppressed, the abused, and those who
go through difficult times.
So for example, when a sister goes to
the hospital to give birth to a child,
especially the first time. SubhanAllah the contractions
and you know and the pain is unbearable.
And SubhanAllah, the sisters go through a difficult
time, and I've heard some of them, Wallahi
Alitifar Al Abrilau
Lao Gita Yal 10. You know they vow,
I will never have kids anymore, Khalaas, this
is my last, my first or my last.
And they end up, subhanAllah, having 10, 12
kids. Right? Who's taking care of it in
this difficult time? It's Al Shabaar, subhanAllah. He
makes it easier for them. And I grew
up in a village, we wake up in
the morning, and we find the cat
with 7 kittens or 8 kittens running around.
Who gave birth to all these kittens, and
the and the and the cat was all
by herself.
Who gave birth to these kittens? Right? Who
was taking care of the cat in this
difficult time? We're not talking about 1 baby,
we're talking about 7 or 8 and so
on and so forth. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is Al Jabal.
When you have final exams and you are
pulling your hair off, right?
Especially doctors who come from back home, you
know, they, they study medicine back home and
they come here. They put them through a
lot of difficulties, man. They take a lot
of tests.
USMLE,
Nagorski,
they do observership
and residency
and SubhanAllah, so many exams.
The doctors who come from back home they
come here SubhanAllah, until they start to practice
they put them through a lot of difficulties.
They're stressed out so much so their handwriting
is terrible. You can't read their handwriting. And
SubhanAllah,
if the doctors, if they're not getting a
good pay, and they are protesting, they are
holding signs,
their demands are never answered because no one
can read their handwriting.
It's so terrible, right?
Who is taking care of them in these
difficult times in the final exams? It's Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. If you are sick,
if you are laid off, if you are
fired, if you don't have a job, who
is taking care of you? It's Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
Now,
as I said, everything works according to the
plan of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
everything works according to His Will,
and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is the One
who takes care of you in difficult times.
I think the best manifestations
of Al Jabbar in the Quran
is in the story of Musa Alaihi Salam.
You see,
Firaun was killing all the boys in Bani
Israel,
except the one he he was supposed to
kill.
And his mother in Surat Tasas was told,
if you fear for his life throw him
in the river, like he's not safe with
you in the house throw him in the
live in the river. And those of you
who know a little bit about the history
of Egypt before the building of all these
dams in Egypt, the, the Nair river was
filled with crocodiles
back then. We're talking about 3000 years ago,
crocodiles all over the place. So in your
house your son is not safe, but in
the river by himself with the crocodiles and
all these currents, he is safe.
And if you keep in your house with
you, he will not be safe. But if
you keep him with the one who was
after him to kill him,
he will be safe with him, not with
you. SubhanAllah, this is Al Jabbar.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is taking care of
Musa, and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is stopping
the plans
of Firaun. So this is the meaning of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Ajabar.
If you throw him in the water, he
will be safe,
and this same water will kill Firaun later.
Musa alaihis salam was a tiny baby, he
survived in the water, Firaun the tyrant was
killed in the water. Right? And this is
from the Hikmah of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
When you think about this,
just like this stuff, you hit the rock,
the water comes out. You hit the river
or the sea, no water, it becomes dry.
This is from the Hikmah, the Will of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala because Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala is Al Jaba.
Now I'm gonna conclude with this small story
to explain the meaning of Al Jabal.
When you put a smile on someone's face,
this is probably one of the best things
you can do as a Muslim. The Prophet
SAW says in the Hadith,
ahabbul
aibati illallahi an The Most Beloved People to
Allah are those who are beneficial to people.
The best thing that you can do to
your brother or sister
is to put a smile on their face
and to remove a hardship or a difficulty
from them.
So, I mentioned this story a long time
ago, I'm gonna repeat it to hamdullaha very
quickly. There was this brother from the US,
Basim, I knew him personally, and he used
to go to the Masjid al hamdullaha,
it's from
Palestine, so he used to go to this
Tajweed Halata after Fashr with this older brother,
so one day after Salah he said okay,
did you ever go to Hajj? He said
no. He said why? He said you know,
I'm retired, I'm on patient, I can't afford
to go for Hajj. So he said, Alhamdulillah,
absolutely inshallah, no problem.
This brother Basim, he spoke to some people
from the community, and he said, we need
to send this brother for Hajj. He's desperate
to go, but he doesn't have the means,
he doesn't have the finances,
and we need to do Jabril Khater, put
a smile on his face.
So, at that time, several years ago Hajj
used to cost around
8,500.
So within a few days, they collected close
to 11 or 12 $1,000. Most of the
money came from people who didn't know brother,
the older brother in the story. So they
got him the tickets and they sent him
to Makkah for Hajj, Alhamdulillah.
When he came back, brother Basim went to
visit him, and he said, the older brother
who just came from the Hajj, he said,
Wallahi, I wanted to reward you for what
you did for me. You put a smile
on my face, you put joy in my
heart, and I couldn't find a Surbu gift
from you, from Makkah Madinah. The only thing
I was able to do for Jabril Khater,
putting a smile on my face, I, it
was Jum'ah day, during the Hajj, after Salah,
I stood in front of the Kaaba and
I made Dua for you, and I said
Allahumma'inahuqad
Hazadahilifitunya
for asaydhu fit dunyaal akhirah. He said, You
Allah, He made me happy in dunya, You
Allah put joy in his heart in dunyaal
akhirah.
And they both started to cry. So putting
a smile on someone's face, this is called
Jabrul Khathr in the Arabic language. This is
one of the qualities of Allah
He is doing Jabr to us, so please
do Jabr to each other, and we ask
Allah
to give us the best in this life
and the best in the life to come.
The first question for tonight,
every night in Ramadan I'm gonna be asking
a question from the Quran. If you know
the answer, you will send me the email
and we'll give you a prize tomorrow inshaAllah.
Very good prize.
But not khash, right? Something else.
Or a wife.
Something else.
So the question is, we know in Islam,
if you did something wrong,
and you are regretful,
nadam.
This is tawba in Islam. The prophet says
in the authentic hadith, and nadamut tawba. If
you feel regretful and remorseful,
this is repentance and Allah will forgive you.
But there is one example in the Quran
in Surah Mahidah, the 2 children of Adam,
Kabir killed Habir, and in this story it
says fa'asbahaminan
nadimin. He became regretful,
but Allah never forgave him. Why?
He was regretful, but he was never forgiven.
Why? This is a special case. If you
know the answer, email me before tomorrow Assur
at [email protected].
