Salam alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh Bismillah Alhamdulillah wa Salatu was Salam ala rasulillah he warbird. Brothers and sisters, this is Muslim Kahn, and I welcome you to another episode of Mechanical Turk, and titled, why can't I change? brothers and sisters? This is a question that each and every one of us at some point in our lives, we asked ourselves this question, why can't I change? Why is it that I fall into sin over and over and over again. And no matter what I do to get out of that sin, I may be looking at something wrong. I may be doing something Hold on. I may be with somebody who is held on and I can't stop myself from doing it. What is the reason why I can't
change myself? Whether it be in Ramadan, when Ramadan comes, we try our very best to push ourselves in the obedience of Allah subhanho wa Taala. But as soon as Ramadan is over what happens? For some people on the day of varied, they fall back into the same sins over again, for a lot of people, even during the Ramadan, when the shaytan is locked up. Even during that time, they're still falling into the exact same sin. Why is it that a person is in this state? Brothers and Sisters remember, once there was a time when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us that verily the min the believer, every single time that they commit a sin, there is a black stamp that is placed on their
heart. And the more they increase on that sin, the more the stamps increase, until when, until allies xojo causes that their entire heart is covered, and it becomes like a black stone. when that's the case, brothers and sisters. This is exactly the heart that Allah azza wa jal is talking about in so little more coffee when he says, kettle bell, or RA and Allah kulu be him. Verily, by no means their hearts have been stained with a type of rust with a type of stain. And the scholars they say that that rust and that stain is the effects of sin. Now you're probably thinking now how do you get rid of that rust? And this is going to be the core of our discussion. Brothers and sisters.
Think about your state at this very moment. Think about what kind of person you are every single day when you wake up? Where are your thoughts? When you wake up early in the morning? What is the first thing that you go and you do? Is it to make sure that you pray fudger on time? Or is it to get on the computer and check your email? What are the thoughts? What are the priorities in your life? And this is going to lead us now in the first way or the first guideline on how you can change that state? Where when you raise your hand to Eliza gel. And you say to Allah subhanho wa Taala Yeah, Rob, forgive me. Oh Allah change me. Oh, Allah make me better that Dora can be answered.
Look at the state that you're living in and look at the priorities in your life. Are you a person that when you stand up for prayer, you're still eating? How long? Are you a person that when you raise your hand to allies, you are drinking? How long? Or you are a person that is working for how long? Or are you a person that is living a life of how long? This is your first step to understanding how to diagnose and deal with this problem. And that is to think about your priorities in life and the state of the life that you live in. Let me give you a clear example of how to understand this point. Imagine you have children and you want your children to be the best. You want
them to be half of the Quran. You want them to be people who are pious.
You want them to be righteous in Islam, but you yourself as a family, the environment that you're in, no one is praying there, the environment that you're in, no one is establishing Salah reciting Quran making Dora The house is filled with only parties and friends and things of that nature. How do you expect for someone to change if their environment does not influence them or encourage them to change? This is why it's very different that if you were reading * in your home, as opposed to reading or an in your in the masjid, it's to two different places to different environments. And so the essence of how you recite also changes and so brothers and sisters,
from the points on how I can change number one, a you
think about the other then and think about what you see when Allah azza wa jal when you say hey are Seiler hayyan and Fela, you respond to Allah subhanho wa Taala and you c'est la hawla wala quwata illa Billah there is no authority there is no power except with Allah subhanho wa Taala except what Allah azza wa jal has prescribed has allowed for you to happen for as allowed for you to do. Why is this so important when you change yourself? Because in that event, in that particular moment, you automatically recognize that you could never pray unless Allah allowed you to pray, you can never stand up and go into a Roku and then go into sujood unless allies will allow that to happen for you.
Doesn't that make you think about so many Muslims, who are not praying what the state of their lives are, they've gotten so used to sin, that they can change. They've gotten so used to a problem, they can't see anything wrong with it. As a result, as one of the great scholars of Islam, one said that the small sins don't become small sins anymore, they now become a big problem, they now become a huge sin of Islam. However, for the person who has a major sin, but they repent to Allah subhanho wa Taala, then it is no longer a major sin anymore. Now it is something that could be wiped out from them and they are forgiven, their life begins to change. And so brothers and sisters, this first
guide of how to change yourself, is to realize that that is something that allies so a gel has to give you. That is a privilege Allah gives to you, how do you get it? This is where your sincerity lies. Many Muslims, we don't become opportunistic. In other words, we don't look for that opportunity to do righteous deeds. We don't look for that opportunity to donate to help one another. We will sit in msgid most of the time and we will wait for somebody to say we need a donation for someone so for the msgid for an orphanage for a charity, and only then will we give for the sake of Allah azza wa jal. Many Muslims, they will only give or assist if they know that they're going to
get something in return. And this is why Allah says well at 10 noon test tech theory, don't give, but at the same time you wish for something in return, or you wish for an increase meant. Leave that to Allah azza wa jal, your job is just is just to try your best to be sincere and have Taqwa in everything that you do. And so brothers and sisters look for that opportunity to try and make a change with yourself. Look for the chance that when you see an elderly struggling to put on their shoes, be there to help them put on their shoes. Look for when you see a young child who's trying to climb the stairs who's trying to get a drink of water from the fountain and can't reach it or is
struggling look for that opportunity to help that child accomplish those things. Do you realize that we're only talking about the simple things this is why when you look at the entire Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam you will find that this is something that he loved to do for all the children he loves to do for all the elderly. Do you know that never was there a time when the prophets a lot more it he was sending him would walk by an elderly men or a person that was injured at
Except that he would stop. And he would say, a set Mr. Lee come to them, and he would make dua for their cure. Or he would make dua for them that Allah increases them in their health and their strength. What is the process of them doing here, he's looking for an opportunity to do good wherever he finds it. And realize once you have that in your heart, then Allah azza wa jal will constantly invite you to his worship will constantly invite you to his obedience. So that's the first point, the second guideline on how you can change yourself, his brothers and sisters, you want to try and limit as much of the transgression and sin as possible, especially if you are quote
unquote, a religious person, or a student of knowledge, who is very, very close to their religion and involved in learning it. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once talked about the student of knowledge, who still falls into sin. And he said, the student of knowledge that is sinning is like a candle. On the one hand, when that candle lights up, it brings guidance and light to everyone around them. But at the same time, that candle is burning itself out. And so what happens here is that the student of knowledge is always on the same page is always on the same level, and is always in the state that they cannot change. And so brothers and sisters, try to limit how much sin that
you do to the best of your ability. Now, how do you do that, there are a number of things that you look at, one of the most important things that you look at is the environment that you're in. You want to stay away from that environment that is constantly filled with how long that is constantly filled with people sitting in that area, sitting in that time, sitting in that particular place, stay away from it as much as you can. Secondly, brothers and sisters is that you also want to try to steer your thoughts away from sin. Don't think about it. And the moment you find something, whether it's on TV or on the internet that causes you to remember somebody in your past in Jay Z, somebody
who has come to you, or a former boyfriend or a former girlfriend, but that's in your past and today Alhamdulillah you are practicing. You want to stay away from the things that remind you of sin as much as possible. And this is why brothers and sisters, if you have internet and you have a TV, then you need to control how you use those resources because that in and of itself could be the exact same problem. Why you can change so limit the amount of sin and limit the amount of transgression as much as you can. This is why Allah azza wa jal says, Fear Allah azza wa jal to the best of your ability to the best way you know how try to put every single effort to do that. And we ask Allah
azza wa jal to make that easy for all of us. Brothers and sisters. We will continue with our discussion. Let's take a short break. And we will be back and continue our discussion of the important topic. Why can't I change
