Media respected elders, brothers and sisters in Islam.
We are living in so much of confusion and chaos. The entire globe is going through pain, confusion and hardship. such drastic changes the past few weeks they've been this roller coaster ride for all of us. But you know what i want to seize this opportunity to embrace this moment that we are right now in I want to seize it, I want to embrace it. And I want to thank Allah subhanho wa Taala for this opportunity, where even though we cannot meet physically, we cannot congregate for Salatu. Juma ha, we cannot congregate for the Friday sermon. Even though we cannot meet physically Allah subhanho wa Taala has blessed us where we are all meeting digitally from different parts of the world from
different parts of the world I can see so many people have tuned in from different parts of the world. So Allah has blessed us to meet digitally Allah has blessed us to get his message of hope of faith out using these platforms. And he has blessed us all to be a part of it. So many brothers and sisters in Islam. For others to share in on this message of faith. Today I want to share a very powerful message of faith and hope with you all for us to be able to see the silver lining for this dark cloud as they say every dark cloud has a silver lining so for us to be able to see the silver lining for us to be filled with faith and hope we need to get this message out. So therefore I want
to kindly request that you share the stream whether you're tuning in from instead through Instagram or Facebook, please share it with your circle of influence so that others can benefit so that others can be filled with faith and hope and so they to be able to see the silver lining so that they too will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel so that they too will improve and better their relationship and they are placing of their trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala so please do hit the share button and share it around so that we can all share in on the the board inshallah Tada.
So right now my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we are going through our newsfeeds we're reading the headlines and we all know how contagious this virus is.
We all know how contagious this viruses arguably at this time, the only thing that is more contagious than this virus is the fear of the virus Subhan Allah, the only thing that is more contagious than the virus itself in today's time, and era in today's landscape is the fear of the virus.
First things first, I want to make it very clear that it is okay to be feeling like this. It's okay to be scared. It's okay to have feelings of anxiety inside you. It's okay to have feelings of fear within you. Because none of us none of us have experienced this before. So it's bringing up many raw feelings and many raw emotions, this anxiety that you're feeling the fear, were you on the verge of literally losing it completely losing it entirely. It is all normal because around the globe, fear is rampant everywhere. And there are many reasons for it as well, primarily being COVID-19 primarily being Coronavirus. You read about it everywhere. It's plastered all over our social media feeds.
It's the discussion of almost every conversation that people are having today. How are we to mitigate the risks? How are we to control it? How are we to, you know, put an end to it that people are discussing it left, right and center. So there are many reasons to contribute to this fear. And this fear is rampant everywhere you look around you, you see that your financial stability is at risk along with your health, stock markets are crashing or have crashed, big businesses are shutting down, more businesses are shutting down for for many of us our jobs are at stake, or otherwise, our routines have changed so drastically that we are working from home, schools have shut down children
at home. So there are so there's no school, our routines are disrupted, so many hurdles and obstacles, economic hurdles, not just at a national level, not just at a global level, it starts off from an individual level to a national level, to a global level. So many hurdles so many obstacles. So it's it's normal. It's actually healthy, to have feelings of anxiety, to have feelings of fear at this at this moment. And at this time. And I would like to remind you that you my dear brother, my dear sister, you are not alone in this regard. It is completely normal to switch from living mode to survival mode, we have all switched from living mode to survival mode. When we were in living mode.
We were planning our vacations, we were planning our trips abroad, we were planning on different things, you know, recreational activities and whatnot. But now we are all in this survival mode. And I'm in no way an expert in any formal way to be able to tell you what's going to happen to this virus. And and in fact, those who would call themselves experts in this field, too, are struggling to wrap their heads entirely around this pandemic around this virus. So at a time like this many brothers and sisters in Islam, we have all been asked to practice social distancing.
Why?
Because what if we are carriers of the virus, so social distancing is in place to mitigate the spread of the virus? And one reason is, what if we are carriers of the virus?
If we are hypothetically, carriers of the virus, then there is this risk of us spreading it, it's extremely contagious, it's established that it is very, very contagious. Okay. So there is this risk, there is the fear factor that you and I, that we all could be carriers, and therefore we need to socially distance ourselves. And then guidelines have been put in place, by governments, by health organizations, by health ministries, that if you identify certain symptoms, you're supposed to take
ABC course of action, etc. You know, so you have all these guidelines in place and social distancing is in place as well. Because what if we are carriers of the virus?
Now let's think about that for a bit.
At this point, there is this fear that you ni B could be a carrier of the virus. So what did I say at the beginning, that the only thing in today's landscape, okay, in today's time that is more contagious than the virus itself is the fear in regards to the virus. So right now my dear brothers and sisters, you have a choice to choose
between being a carrier and spreader of not just the virus, see the virus? Yes, obviously.
But if the virus is considered contagious, fear is contagious as well.
And on the other hand, faith and hope are contagious, too. So my point being, you have a choice to choose between between being a carrier, slash spreader of fear of negativity, or you can choose to be a carrier of light, a carrier of faith, a carrier of hope, helping others see the light at the end of the tunnel, helping others see the silver lining across this gloomy and dark cloud. So the point is that when people get in touch with you or come into contact with you, it's contagious and they catch it. So you need to ask yourself, do I have something that is worthy enough to be caught? to pass on? Am I passing on fear? Am I passing on negativity, so just as how we are distancing
ourselves, to avoid the spread of the virus, we must be extremely careful not to spread fear, not to spread negativity, not to spread.
You know, losing hope, this this feeling of being disheartened. But instead we need to choose as believe is to spread faith, to spread hope. And that's why I started off by kindly requesting that you share this message across with others that you share the scream across with others so that we can strive to get the message of Allah so we can strive to get the message of Allah, his message of hope, his message of faith, his message of light out there so that during these gloomy and dark times, we will have his light to navigate through, we will have the faith in Allah subhanho wa Taala to navigate through these hurdles to these obstacles, so that we will get through this we will pass
through it in sha Allah Allah.
Fear is contagious. You have people you know who keep asking, Is this the end of the world? Is this the end of the world.
We can't go to the massage at any moment.
The harem is closed, you can't go into basically if you're planning on going an ombre you can't go on our own bra. There are talks about Hajj being disrupted. So you have all these headlines everywhere. And today is Friday generally speaking, we would be preparing to go for Salatu. Juma to congregate at the at the massage it in the beautiful houses of Allah subhanho wa Taala we've been prevented. So now we feel disheartened. But No my dear brother, No my dear sister.
As believers It is not just the four walls of the massage that helped us to connect to Allah subhanho wa Taala No, as a believer you can connect to Allah subhanho wa Taala wherever you are. The other day I was seeing this post that someone had posted that they were asked us to what is the wisdom behind the Kaaba been closed? And the wisdom behind it
is that it proves that we are not people who worship the Kaaba but rather we worship Allah subhanho wa Taala the Kaaba is merely the direction that we face to when worshiping Allah Subhana Allah Allah. So at a time like this Do not become so disheartened and do not let the enemy Do not let the devil put you into this, this
hole of gloominess and darkness where you turn away from Allah subhanho wa Taala look at this hadith I'd like to share this hadith with you all, even Ambassador Lee Allahumma he reports. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he looked at the Kaaba, see, these are not
my words. This is the role model of the messenger. These are the words of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam. He looked at the Kaaba and he said, How great are you and how great is your sanctity? So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is looking at the Kaaba, and he's saying, How great are you and how great is your sanctity? Yet, the believer has great a sanctity to Allah then you the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is looking at the Kaaba and he's saying, the believer has greater sanctity has greater value to Allah subhanho wa Taala. Then you Verily Allah sanctified you once and sanctified the believer thrives in his life in his wealth, and not to assume evil about
him. The honor, the virtue of the believer is thrice where his life is considered valuable, is sanctified by Allah, his wealth is sanctified by Allah, and we're not supposed to assume evil about one another. These are the words of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, so many brothers and sisters in Islam at a time like this, despite being deprived of going to the massage in the houses of Allah subhanho wa Taala despite not being able to go to the master of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam we must not lose hope. We must not turn away from Allah subhanho wa Taala we must not distance ourselves from Eliza virgin. The other day I was going through these posts, somebody had designed these posts, about isolation. And and and these were reminders to remind ourselves of incidents of the past that are connected to isolation. So for example, we have the story of use of Isla to a slum who was isolated at the bottom
of a well, we have the story of you know, Sally salatu salam who was isolated in the belly of a sea monster, we have
the we have the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, who was in isolation, in in a ver Hara, in the cave of hair or before he was appointed as a prophet by Allah subhanho wa Taala. And along with that, if you look at the,
the concept of isolation, you see during the time of the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam, the Muslim moon, they were boycotted by the Quraysh by the pagans at that time, and the boycott was so harsh that they were not able to buy things almost like how we are in a lockdown Subhana Allah, but you know, in most places you are able to get things eventually you are able to get things delivered to your homes eventually. And and you know, we have the luxury but the Muslims during the time of the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam, the Quraysh the pagans, they had this boycott in place where people were not allowed to marry
into the tribes of the Muslims. They were not allowed to sell things or purchase things from them. It was a very stringent boycott that was in place for a long period of time and they went through it, they held on to faith they did not lose hope in Allah subhanho wa Taala they did not give up they held on to it strongly and Allah subhanho wa Taala took them through it. So my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, it's important that at a juncture like this, that we do not lose hope in Allah subhanho wa Taala we need to place our trust in Eliza Jen. It is important to choose between being a carrier of faith between being a carrier of light between being a love spreader between being a
spreader of hope and a spreader of fear, a spread of negativity, a spreader of gloom and darkness. No, let us choose to be spreaders of light. Let us choose to be spreaders of hope. Let us fill the hearts of others with hope. Let us use this as an opportunity because it's going to pass insha Allah to Allah, it is going to pass think of no highlight his salat wa salam and and the floods that they went through and eventually Allah subhanho wa Taala took them through it. And there has been many a pandemic in the past. Allah subhanho wa Taala has taken mankind through it. Allah azzawajal the Most Merciful. This is a test that he is testing us with. So it's important at this juncture that we pass
this examination My dear brothers and sisters in Islam do not fail the examination. Do not fail the test of Allah subhanho wa Taala Some of us are uttering blasphemous statements, some of us have gone on to even question the existence of the Almighty subhanho wa Taala No, no, no, this is not a time to give into the traps of Chopin. This is not a time to give into the traps of the devil. This is a time to work on filling your heart with faith. You might be thinking, well I can't go to the masjid I can't go for Juma How am I to fill my heart with faith Subhan Allah have we not been blessed with these platforms where we are supposed to use these platforms to spread faith. Where we're supposed
to use these platforms see the whole point of even having this session during the time of Salatu. Juma even though we cannot pray Salatu Juma we've been instructed to pray a lot to her at home, and that's what I will be doing in my home. The whole point of arranging this session is to rejuvenate ourselves digitally, we cannot meet physically we cannot congregate physically, but it is important to rejuvenate ourselves spiritually to recharge our batteries to connect with Allah subhanho wa Taala because the stronger the connection becomes with allies, Virgil, he is the one who has the power to turn things around. My dear brothers and sisters in Islam so let me make it very, very
clear.
Your hope and your faith, my hope, and my faith should be in Allah and Allah alone. Our hope and our fate should not be on governments even though we respect our governments. We respect them.
That they have put into place we support them, we stand by them. We do all of that. But our hope is in Allah subhanho wa Taala. Our hope is not on doctors, even though we love our doctors, we stand by our doctors and we are praying for them that they be blessed for all the hard work that they're putting in right now. All of them who are on the front lines, be the doctors be the forces, the nurses, every single volunteer every single individual on the front line. I'd like to take this as an opportunity to thank each and every one of them. They're risking their lives. They're putting themselves right there at the frontline which we are all safe at home. They're risking themselves on
a daily basis morning and evening to serve us. So we must pray for them. We must thank them we must stand by them in solidarity we must support them must do all of that. But yet, our hope is in Allah subhanho wa Taala our hope is upon Allah as a virtual because only he mighty brothers and sisters in Islam, only he can turn things around La hawla wala quwata illa Billah there is no power, no mind except from Allah subhanho wa Taala and this is why or believe as it is of utmost importance, that you strengthen your relationship with allies of a gel that you turn to Him in prayer we must pray we must constantly be in prayer. We must constantly give we must constantly spread love We must
constantly share. Now is the time to do good deeds Now is the time to give Now is the time to share. Now is the time to act upon the words of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam What does he teach us in regards to the rights of our neighbors?
As per one particular Hadith the Prophet sallallahu Sallam says when you're cooking,
add a little more curry or gravy to what you're cooking and share it with your neighbors Subhan Allah today. Look, look look at the pandemonium look at the circus that happens when the lockdown is briefly lifted. And when people are allowed to go out to the supermarkets when people are allowed to go out to shop Subhanallah you see people fighting, pulling shoving in some parts of the world. So pan allow, you know everybody is just thinking about themselves. No at a juncture like this. Yes, you must think about yourself about your family. But do so with the discipline do so with respect where you care for others. Where Yes, if you have purchased one, you share another one with somebody
who is in need. And you must also think about underprivileged families, less fortunate families, you have the money to at least go stand in a queue and purchase something for yourself and your family. But there are people out there who are living below the poverty line who do not have the means to even go and stand in the queue and purchase for themselves. So panela and at a time like this when everybody is thinking about themselves, or believers think about others and give out now is the time to give Now is the time to share the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam his report to have said and so hey, we've been sent out of your loved one who he makes mention of the Hadith. He says the
Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, the best of you are those who feed others. The best of you are those who feed others. I repeat the words of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The best of you are those who feed others the Hadith is recorded in the book of Imam Ahmed Rahim Allah.
In other Hadith the Prophet salaallah Islam his report to have said charity does not decrease wealth charity does not decreased. Well, let me repeat the words of my messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam charity does not decrease wealth. So therefore at a time like this, when we are all turning to Allah, when now we are woken up and we understand the value of the words of our messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, it a strive to adhere and act upon the words of the messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Let us strive to please Allah subhanho wa Taala. And one of the deeds that pleases Allah subhanho wa Taala the most is charity, many brothers and sisters in Islam. So at a juncture like
this, do not give into the neck negativity that is being planted by the devil. The devil is planting negativity, he is putting in these thoughts of fear and anxiety I started off at the beginning by saying it is normal. It is normal to feel these feelings because we are all going through anxiety at this time. It's very new to us, none of us, at least in this generation. And for that matter, when you look at this pandemic, nobody has ever faced a pandemic, to this extent, to this to this magnitude. So we are all in fear and we are all in anxiety. So it's important to us this this time of solitude and isolation, to identify the feelings that are going through in our heads. Sit down
and quietly identify
The feelings that you are going through sit down in stillness and identify the feelings. Are you are you having feelings of calm? Are you having feelings of fear? Are you having feelings of panic? Are you having feelings of anxiety? Once you've identified these feelings, maybe brothers and sisters, look at addressing them, addressing these feelings of anxiety these feelings of fear by giving yourself doses of faith by giving yourself doses of hope. soothe yourself with doses of faith, soothe yourself with doses of hope and Alhamdulillah. Online there's so much happening as you can see, on a regular basis, we are having these sessions to boost ourselves this is to boost myself
Firstly, and then to spread this message to boost as many people as possible not to lose hope. This is a passing cloud My dear brothers and sisters in Islam it will pass insha Allah, Allah and we are going to go back to normalcy with the help of Allah that we are all making the ayah there's so much of prayers out there and a lot the Most Merciful, Allah who are rough man who are Rahim will go for the most forgiving, the Most Merciful. He's going to turn things around and all of this is just going to vanish away. But my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we should not forget, we should make sure and ensure that this serves as a wake up call. a wake up call for us to mend our ways for
us to mend our ways because look at the magnitude if Allah subhanho wa Taala wants to escalate this, this can be escalated. So lest we incur the anger of Allah subhanho wa Taala let us turn to him to seek His pleasure that a seek His forgiveness, and without a shadow of doubt, Allah subhanho wa Taala has the power to turn things around and bring about normalcy in the twinkling of an eye. Just think two weeks or three weeks ago. Compare your life from two to three weeks ago to how it is today. So panela I'm sure none of us the superpowers no one thought that you know things could become like this, but look at how it has turned out to be look at where we are right now. And again
it is in the hands of Allah subhanho wa Taala dialer to turn things around again, it is possible, it is possible Allah azza wa jal he can do it. So it's important that you and I many brothers and sisters in Islam as believers, it's important that we understand this and coming back to the ayah that I read at the beginning. And with that, I hope to conclude the reminder, remind yourself again, what did I say identify these feelings of anxiety, these feelings of panic, the feelings of confusion that you're going through and address these feelings, validate and address these feelings with boosts of faith. Look at this ayah in Surah Al Baqarah I am number 286 where Allah Subhana
Allah He says,
lie You can leave Formula One Epson Nila Sangha
a lot does not burden a soul more than what it can bear more than its capacity. Langham cancer bats y la ha makdessi but it will have the consequences of what good It has gained, and it will bear the consequences of what evil it has earned. May Allah save us from evil. May Allah help us to become spreaders of good when Allah help us to become spread as a faith and hope.

Making these two asmedia brothers and sisters in Islam, where we seek the forgiveness of Allah subhanho wa Taala we seek the mercy of Allah as a virgin. And no and let this serve as a reminder, as I conclude that Allah subhanho wa Taala will not let us down. So let the message of faith spread, spread the message of faith spread the message of hope, the virus is contagious. And the fear in regard to the virus is more contagious than the virus. But faith is even more contagious, hope is even more contagious. So, therefore, let us spread fate. Let us spread hope that are socially distance ourselves. acting upon the guidelines that have been put forth by our governments and our
health ministries, let us socially distance ourselves to mitigate the spread of the virus so that we do not spread the virus. Let us not spread fear, fear which is even more contagious than the virus that has not spread fear. On the other hand, let us become spread as of love. It has become spread as of hope because hope is even more contagious than the fear of the virus. Hope is even more contagious than the virus in and of itself. It has spread hope it has spread love letter spread faith, let us spread light The more we spread all of this media brothers and sisters in Islam, we're going to be spreading things that invoke the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala we're gonna be
spreading feelings and emotions that invoke and bring about the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala and in due time, all these matters are going to fade away and we're going to go back to normalcy and when we do go back to normalcy, let us not forget Allah subhanho wa Taala we will go back to normalcy with the help of Allah insha Allah and when we go back to normalcy, that does not forget Allah subhanho wa Taala it a strive to do as many good deeds as possible and to please Him subhanho wa Taala in the short period of time that he has blessed us with, let us use these lives, these lifespans that we have to to please Allah Subhana Allah Allah to constantly be in deeds in actions
that please Allah subhanho wa Taala And may Allah subhanho wa Taala protect us from incurring and invoking his anger. With that I conclude this reminder, I look forward to talking to all of you frequently. In the near future in sha Allah, Allah, we hope to be organizing more sessions like this, but this is the weekly Friday Friday session every Friday until we go back to our normal Friday sermons in the masajid I hope to have this reminder at the time of Salatu.
