Mirza Yawar Baig – How to make life worship
AI: Summary ©
The speakers discuss the meaning of worship in Islam, which is focused on obeying Allah and not necessarily attackable. Jesus is the only God and the leaders of the Islam movement are linked. There is confusion surrounding Jesus, but it is noted that Jesus is linked to their desire to please him and become a member of the Taq wa community. It is important to live every breath of their lives in a spiritual state of worship, with the intention of pleasing Him and fulfilling their spiritual goals.

My brothers and sisters,
a friend of mine asked me this question.
He said that
the purpose of
existence of a Muslim
is to worship Allah.
And,
if that is the case,
then
how can I do
anything else? You know, how can I
have a career and how can I,
buy and sell property or
how can I make my life
and do other things in life?
Now this is a question that is,
was asked to me by
by a person who is,
talking to me about
Islam. So, you know,
he said he said, I I am very
interested in Islam. I might become Muslim.
But, just now I have questions. So that's
the context
of it, which
brings me
to and I I I love, as I
mentioned earlier, I love talking
to the and to people who are not
yet Muslim or as people from
different cultures because they and under intelligence because
they bring a a different view to,
our religion, which
I find very refreshing and helps me to,
you know, appreciate what we have even more.
So the thing to understand about the question
of worship,
Ibadah,
is
is the
manifestation of
of being an abd,
of subjecting
yourself and subjugating
yourself
to someone or something. And in this case,
it is Allah
and it is not permissible for us to
subject and subjugate ourselves to anyone other than
Allah
That is the essence of Ubudia.
So here, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
So when we say Ibadah, we say, I
am subjecting myself
completely and totally to Allah
So when Allah SWT
said,
We have not created the
human beings and the jinn for anything other
than to worship us,
other than to worship Allah.
So therefore, the purpose, the meaning of worship
in that is to, other than to,
subject themselves
to Allah.
There's no purpose other than that we should
be subservient to and subject ourselves to and
be obedient to Allah alone. Therefore,
the meaning of the word
or Ibadah,
not Ibadah.
The meaning of the word worship
is taken in the sense of
obedience to Allah Subhanu.
The,
the leader of this also is from
where,
Adi bin,
had him,
Radiala, before he became Muslim,
he came to mister Salam
in, Madinah.
And he had a he was wearing a
cross. He was a Christian.
So Uday bin Hatim,
had a big cross
around his neck on a chain.
And Rasulullah
salam recited the Ayat
of the Quran,
where in Surah Tawah Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
said,
Allah said they have taken their rabbis and
monks and priests,
as
guards instead of Allah.
So the full ayat is,
They have taken the rabbis and monks,
and
as well as the Masihah,
son of Mary, which is Isad e Sarab,
Jesus, as lords, as their rubub, as their
rub.
Beside
Allah,
other than Allah, with Allah, associating with Allah,
even though they were commanded to worship none
but one Allah, one God.
There is no God worthy of worship except
Him.
Glorified is he above what they associate with
him. So when Adi ibn Hatim,
Al Adi lanu, before he became Muslim, when
he came and, he was wearing this cross,
and
saw him and he recited desire.
So Adi said, yeah. He said, yes,
Rasool Allah sallam. He said, we do not
worship our rabbis and monks. We do not
worship our priests.
Rasool, rasool,
said, is it not true
that Allah
made some things halal,
permitted you some things, but your priests, your
rabbis, your monks, your priests,
your bishops and so on,
they prohibited it. They made it haram, and
you followed them
instead of
following Allah.
And Adi Bin Adi said, yes. That is
true.
Abhishek Rasbandi, it is not true that Allah
prohibited
some things,
but your rabbis and priests and so on,
permitted it and you followed them
and not Allah
Is that not true? They said yes. So
he said, Adi ibn Atim said yes.
Rasool
said, that is Ibadah. He said that obedience
is worship.
Now if you take the Christian religion, for
example,
in the Bible,
pork is prohibited.
In the bible today as you can read
it. So it they they even
amazes me that, people actually can read that
and still eat pork. But they eat pork
because they probably they say, oh, but you
see,
Peter, Saint Peter, they'll they as they call
him, Saint Saint Peter prohibited it. So who's
Saint Peter? Is he God or he's not
God?
According to their theory, is he even son
of God? No. He's not son of God.
Then then how do you how do you
believe him?
When
what you claim to be the word of
God,
itself says clearly that you can,
that you can that you should not eat
pork. Right?
So on and so forth. So now, similarly,
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
so when we look at, therefore, from this
ayah,
and this understanding of Ubudhya
and of Ibadah,
that Ibadah is obedience.
So now if we take this and say,
Uma'at, Uma' khalaqulil jillawinizayillawoodu,
that Allah said we have not created the
jinn and the human beings for anything other
than worship
of Allah,
then if worship is equal to obedience, then
doing anything in obedience to the order of
Allah
becomes an act of worship.
That might be a formal act of worship,
a formal ritual act of worship as salah,
or it can be anything else.
Now again, we have the where Rasoolullah Salaam,
he said to the Sahaba that Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala,
if you have
intimate relationships
with your spouses, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will
reward you for it. As I said, Yarsulullah,
we have an intimate relationship,
with our spouse, with our with our wives,
for our pleasure.
Right? Because this is our,
you know, the the the, human drive and
so we have it.
Will Allah give us a reward? Rasulullah
said, if you
wanted to satisfy
that drive,
satisfy that desire
in a way that Allah prohibited
through zina,
through,
illegal,
intimacy,
then would Allah not punish you? They said,
yes, Allah would punish us. He said, therefore,
if you do it the way Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala ordered you to do it, Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will surely reward you.
So obedience
with
or or acting or doing something
with this
awareness, with this understanding, with this
consciousness
that this should please Allah. This is something
which Allah
should be pleased with. I want I want
to please Allah, therefore I'm doing it.
To
ask this question to yourself in every
action, before every action, before every speech.
Is Allah going to be pleased with what
I'm about to do or what I'm about
to say?
And if the answer is yes, I do
it. If the answer is no, I don't
do it no matter how much I want
to do it.
And if the answer is I don't know,
then I don't do it until I find
out.
This is the meaning of Ibadan. This is
the meaning of worship, and this is the
essence of taqwa.
This is the essence of
piety, essence of being
aware of Allah
in our lives,
which is the door to everything good. Because
Allah
opened
and made his promises for the muttaqun, the
people of taqwa. How do I become a
person of Taqwa?
By developing this awareness, by developing this consciousness
that every action of mine, every
speech of mine, every word of mine must
please Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
without exception. So when I make this
intention
and I
consciously do things only to please Allah, I
become a Mu'takhi and then the promises of
Allah
start
appearing in my life
in the best and most beautiful form.
So, therefore, how is it
possible
to worship Allah in
my entire life
when I apparently, or I seem to have,
my personal needs,
my drives, my ambitions and so on, the
answer
is very simple.
By all means, fulfill every
every desire,
fulfill every ambition
with this thought in mind, which is, does
it please Allah?
And do it only and only if it
pleases Allah.
If there is something that does not please
Allah, don't do it. To close with a
final very simple example,
say for example, my desire is to have
to own my own house.
So build a house or buy a house.
Now, alhamdulillah, nothing wrong with that. This is
a good desire to have.
What is the way?
I don't have the entire money that I
need. I have some money. The rest of
it, I need to borrow. Again, until this
point,
alhamdulillah. No problem. How will I borrow? From
where will I borrow?
Now the option is, I borrow from a
bank for which I pay interest.
Now this is where the problem is, which
is that if I am doing that, then
I am going against the order of Allah
SWA. Allah SWA has prohibited interest,
He private interest in every shape or form,
in every situation, and therefore and not only
did he
private that, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala declared war
on the one
who
distill deals with interest.
1 who still goes who still goes,
against Allah law. So when Allah
did that,
when he when he declared this,
and if a person says, no, I still
want to buy a house and I want
to take interest, then we have deviated.
We have gone against the order of Allah
Instead of that, if you say, no, I
will continue to pursue
interest free,
options of
getting
money to buy my house. And if I
am unable to do that, then I will
live with what Allah has given me. I
will not buy a house
because to obey Allah Subhana Wa Ta'la is
a higher priority for me than to own
a house. Now, this is the essence of
Taqwa. This is the essence of being Muslim.
This is worship.
So this is what I,
want to remind myself anew. It is possible
to live every breath of our lives in
a state of worship,
provided
we ensure
that every action and every speech
is in line with what Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala likes and it and it is done
with the intention of pleasing Him,
The glorious and magnificent,
and it is
something which does please him, which means I
must get the knowledge of what pleases Allah
and what does not please Allah.
