We move on after that to the next parable, which is
the last parable in Surah Baqarah.
And this parable we move on now,
having covered all the assets and the variables related to
charity and giving generously, moving on, once again on the topic of wealth, but now talking about
around wealth.
So this parable that we have before us
is concerning the one who consumes at Riba.
This is in verse number 275 of total Baccarat was the plan of which Allah says

una Illa gamma yaku la de da de PUE Shay Utah on Oh Nina mess daddy daddy

las of honey Subhanahu wa tada here says
those who consume a Riba interest
they cannot stand except like one who stands being beaten by a barn into insanity.
That is because they say in the malware, you know, Kiba trade is just like Riba.
But Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden Riba. So whoever receives an administrator from his Lord and stops,
what has passed meaning is previous games he stops at river
then his affair rests with Allah.
He may have he may have
what
has passed meaning his previous games he may keep them fella who masala or ambu illa and his affair restaurant with Allah. But whoever returns to dealing with Alibaba, then they are the companions of the Fire and they will abide there in eternal
Riba in the Arabic language means an increase linguistically, it means an increase in something.
When it comes to the definition of Riba in Islam,
it basically means
it basically means
to increase the wealth
in a harem way.
And so there are different kinds of Riba that are forbidden in Islam. But the most common one is
to lend someone money
and then get it back with an increase
making that a condition in the contract.
And this was common among the people of jahir. This was common when these ayat were revealed in the time of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam.
The people were involved in this kind of Riba.
And it is also common in today's day and age.
So that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
are on the day of Hajj without in his Hooda in his long sermon, among the things that he mentioned is that it is completely forbidden.
And he mentioned that the first rebar that he was taught was that of his, his uncle, a bass. They've been Abdulmutallab. We used to do this. He was a rich businessman, and he would lend others but he would make that a condition river, he would be involved in it, he would get back the money with interest.
And so just like those people
Just like those people, they said what is so bad about interest?
He said what is so bad about interest? How is
Riba different to buying and selling?
So I buy something for
let's say, I buy something for $100.
And then I go and sell that same product. Let's say for $150.
This is a permissible kind of trade.
You buy something for $100 and you go and sell it for 150.
There's a $50 profit gain in this. So they said
that
trade which is permissible, and this is the example of it.
The Rebbe is no different.
What's the difference?
I lend somebody $100. And I say, you have to give me back 150 that extra $50 I say, you know, this is
for the period of time that I have to wait.
So I deserve it.
And so this is what they say.
This is what they said.
So what did Allah subhanahu wa taala say? How did Allah subhanho wa Taala reply
they said called enamel Beirut with Riba.
They said, breeding is just like Riba. So what was the response of Allah?
Did Allah say no?
Not true.
Buying and selling is like this. And
the river is like this.
If Allah wanted to, he could have explained the difference between the two. But not
instead, Allah subhanho wa Taala in simple words, Allah subhanho wa Taala said,
what uh Hello la hora de
la has permitted trade, buying and selling.
But he has been in labor. That's it.
It's over. The discussion is over.
In this is a lesson
that this Deen is about submission
to Allah subhanho wa Taala.
It is submission to Allah has legislated not going back and forth in a long winded debate.
Allah subhanahu wa taala is teaching us here
that Allah has made certain things happen and certain things are wrong.
Don't object
to question.
Don't try to come up with this analogy.
And what we learn from this, also is that there is no analogy when we have a clear cut text from the Quran from the sun.
analogies don't work, where we have something clear cut from the text from the Quran or from the sun.
And so what we call what we call Ts
what we call PS, which is
a method of arriving at the ruling of something for which we don't have precedents in the Quran or in the Sunnah. So
we have something that has come up today, we don't know is this her arm? Or is it hella?
And we don't have anything in the parameters. So now that talks about it, because it's something new
to the scholars, what they do is they look for something similar in the Quran, or in the Sunnah. And they perform as a kind of analogy.
So let's say certain substances, certain drugs.
Were not mentioned by the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, or the Hillel or the Quran, to the scholars. What they do is they compare the substances to, let's say, alcohol.
And they say it takes us a moment.
But we're we have a clear cut text in the parameters sooner than that's it. There's no need for analogy. There's no room for class.
And if somebody says, I'm going to do prs, then we'll say this is a false class.
And so transactions are committed
Hello.
Reba is Hara
and this is one of the only places in the Quran
where Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned something like this
a hella Cather will help Rama Qaeda that he has made this Helen and he has made that Hara usually in the Quran we find a what tells us this is Helen
and he lists things which are halal.
And other times he lists things which are Haram, like food, what kind of meat or real Are we not allowed to eat a lot lists, you know, pork and Mater, etc. But this is one of the only places in the Quran where Allah
you know, clearly mentioned two opposites.
It says one is heroin and the other is heroin.
Also,
Riba
was one of those things which the prohibition of it, it came down gradually.
Because the people they were accustomed to it, and they were heavily involved in it. And so just like
a hammock,
alcohol, the prohibition came down in stages. It was not all of a sudden, a lot revealed a verse saying it's Haram, you have to stay away from it. No, it came down gradually. Likewise, with labor, first, among the earlier verses, Allah subhanho wa Taala, revealed in Surah, Allah and Rania, Johann levena, Amman, lat kulu, a reader of Biafra move
on, who believe do not consumed either doubled and multiplied
but fear a lot
so that you are from among the successful ones.
So initially, it was not completely held on but a lot for bead, Reba
in its extreme form, you know, don't make the interest to be at a high percentage.
And then finally, this verse came down,
completely forbidding completely forbidding it, here in this,
in this verse,
Allah subhanho, wa Taala, compares, the one who consumes the river,
a lot compares him to one who is beaten by shape on into insanity.
And so a person who
is possessed by a demon, or Jin,
or a person who is afflicted with insanity,
or a person who he's beaten so severely,
that he starts to, you know, stagger around.
He doesn't know where he's walking, he's been beaten so severely,
until he drops to the ground.
This is how
the people who consume rubber, this is how they are
those who indulge in river,
their state will be like this, when they arise from their grains, on the day of judgment,
as only the beginning of their punishment.
And this is the view of the majority
of the mufa see rune, who spoke about this verse.
They said, This refers to the person who is involved in labor, this will be his state in the era.
And this is also attributable to even impasse.
And as we said, this is only the beginning of their punishment. In the asker. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was shown
different people
who will be punished in the akhira
in different ways. He saw their punishments.
And so among the things that he saw,
he was taken with the angels.
So he says, We reached a river.
And we found in one narration, it mentions that the river is
as red as blood. And so, he said, we found that a man was swimming in the river.
And on the bank of the river, there was another man and he had with him a large collection of rocks next to him.
So
When the man in the river would swim,
and come towards the men on the bank with, with those with that collection of rocks, he would throw a rock at him.
He would throw a rock at him, and
you know, it would hit him, and he would open his mouth and he would, he would,
it would be thrown with this rock.
And then
he would swim away. And then he would come back.
And the same thing would happen, and it would just keep on hopping, happening repeated.
At the end of the Hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked, so who was this? You know, who is this person? And so the explanation of of this person was that the person in the river receiving this punishment was the one who used to indulge in a bad
one who used to indulge in river
and so this is their punishment.
And
in this verse, this verse is verse number 275, in total Baccarat
after this verse, in the next couple of verses, a lot
mentions Riba again and again
to the point where in the end, Allah subhanahu wa tada
warns us, that if we do not
stay away from Riba
be horribly Meanwhile, he wasn't
happy where
we are, be aware, Allah has declared a war.
A war has been declared by Allah, His Messenger against those who indulge in Riba.
And so the poor tradition of Riba is severe. It's not like any other sin. Consuming Riba comes under the major sins in Islam.
So, this is the parable that Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions that example of the one who consumes
among the lessons that we learn from this parable is
firstly,
the humiliating state
of
the world who consumes the river
and Allah subhanahu wa tada only mentioned such examples, so that
such people who indulge in these sins, they will take admonition
and change their ways.
We have other examples of other things, that the Prophet sallallahu sallam,
he mentioned the punishment for those who indulge in those things.
And there are severe punishments, all of these punishments are mentioned by Allah and His messenger. So that we take admonition, so that, you know, we are affected by the words of Allah and His Messenger, and we change our waves.
Secondly,
some of the scholars have deaf seed.
They say that this terrible and this example
of the state of the one who indulges in labor is
actually their state in the dunya. We mentioned
that,
you know, this is their state when they rise from their graves, on the day of judgment, that they will rise.
Like a person who is beaten by shaitan, to insanity,
as Allah says here in this ayah.
So that's how they will rise on the Day of Judgment.
But some scholars have to say, actually, this is their state of Virginia.
If we were to think about it,
this is how some people are, who
are who indulged so much in haraam transactions.
Whether it be Riba or other kinds of transactions
and their businessmen
and their investors
and the investing in the stock markets. Look at such people. You find that
there is a mad state.
They're so worried about their money.
They're so worried about their dounia
And if they lose their money, what happens to them? They go crazy. So that's why some scholars said this is their state in the dunya.
The state of those who indulge in Riba
is like a person who is not, who is insane.
And finally, among the lessons that we learned from this parable
is that for the believer,
what we have to consider, what we have to take into consideration
is
that Allah subhanho wa Taala has said what he has said
that this is halal. And this is hora.
That's it.
End of discussion.
As long as Allah has decided that something is haram.
That's it.
Even if today, we discover that certain things have been certain things that are wrong,
they are actually harmful for us.
So,
for example,
smoking cigarettes or
certain drugs, let's say alcohol, that it's harmful. And this is what you know. They're they're scientists, and they're experts, they tell us that these things are harmful. Now,
regardless of whether we know the harm of it or not, we consider it to be harmful.
And story.
Which is why
if someone stays away from let's say, alcohol,
because of its harmful effects, only,
and not because Allah has made her on.
Such a person is not even a Muslim to begin with.
This is actually Kufa
because
you consider something to be held on not because Allah has made her wrong,
but because of its harmful effects.
Likewise, certain Muslims who
do certain obligatory actions, not because Allah has commanded us to do them, but because of certain benefits, that he will gain from them, such as fasting. There are some Muslims out there, who will fast the month of Ramadan, and they look forward to fasting the month of Ramadan, not because a war has made it obligatory.
but rather because it's an opportunity to lose weight. There are solutions out there like that.
And so,
this is similar to
certain Muslim countries who, you know, their constitution is based on man made laws, their constitution is not the Sharia, or, you know, the Quran.
And instead, they come up with laws, they legislate laws from themselves. So in certain Muslim countries, they consider that it is a crime, they legislate that it is a crime, to
you know, do certain things like drink alcohol publicly, or prostitution, for example.
And they say that
we make these things to be crimes, and at the same time,
we find that, you know, Islam also teaches that these things are wrong.
We say that
this is Kufa because they are not legislating these things because a law has legislated them, but rather, they first legislated it themselves. Then they said, oh, let's look at how Islam also agrees with our legislation. And so, the point here is
that
for the believer,
all we care about is what Allah has said, what the messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has said,
and that is why we do what we do. That is why we stay away from what we stay away from. We ask Allah subhanahu wa taala. To grant us beneficial knowledge. We ask Allah subhana wa COVID
harder to keep us away from that which is heroin. We ask Allah subhanho wa Taala keep us away from a Riba and other evils. We ask Allah Subhana who would keep us firm on his guidance and upon his Deen What are you there? awana hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa sallahu wa salam ala nabina Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ultramarine Alam Alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
