The heart is the most significant organ of the human body, both physically and spiritually. Thus, we need to strive to make sure our hearts are sound, healthy and free of every defect. The Prophet (SAW) said, “There is a piece of flesh in the body, if healthy, the whole body is healthy, and if corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Indeed, it is the heart.”

Welcome once again to another episode of heart therapy.
And this episode of ours is our final and concluding episode.
In the last several episodes, we have been having a look at the many actions related to the heart. And all of these actions are required from us in order to purify our hearts, they are all actions of the heart that Allah subhanho wa Taala He wants us to perform.
And so in the last episode, we had a look at one of the actions of the heart which is known as animal hazard or bringing ourselves to account and in this final and last episode, we want to look at one of the fruits of Elmhurst
and that is a tober or repentance.
And this is actually
the very first step in one's journey to Allah subhana wa tada in the Heart Journey to Allah subhanho wa Taala the very first step is turning to Allah subhanho wa Taala insincere repentance.
And so, it Tilda is basically an Arabic word which means a retreat or a return or to regret.
And it basically means to return to Allah subhanho wa Taala and turn away from everything that Allah dislikes. So it basically involves an action and a refrain meant, it requires something that you do, and something that you stay away from. Although many people they think that repentance means that you just stay away from something and that is the sin that you have repented from, without realizing that there is another very important component and that is an action what is the action here it is to turn to Allah subhana wa Tada. And so it's not sufficient to simply leave the sin that you are committing, but to bring your heart to Allah subhanho wa Taala full of regret, full of remorse, and
with the intention to never go back to that sin ever again. This is the real essence and the real meaning of October. Now both the Quran and the Sunnah incorporate the word of a Toba to refer to the act of leaving what Allah subhana wa tada has prohibited and returning to what he has commanded.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala commands us when he said, Yeah, you Allah Dena Amman, to boo Illa He told me to not sue her, oh, you believe, repent to Allah with a sincere repentance, as our bukem and you can feel at home, when you feel a congenital tragedy mentality and how?
What is the reward? Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your sins, and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow so what we get from this verse is the command to repent to Allah. Also, Allah Subhana who would Allah says, in order to know what to do in a law hegemony? A Muna, looking to flee home and turn to Allah in repentance, all of you are believers, so that you may succeed. And Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us of his love for those who always turned to him in repentance, and so a loss of Hannah who without it says in the law her, you have to wear Deena
We can build upon him for what he loves those who are constantly repenting to him, and he loves those who purify themselves.
And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said that Allah is more pleased with the repentance of his slave, then any one of you is pleased with finding his camel, which he had lost in the desert. And so a person may have been traveling out in the desert in the wilderness, and he's suddenly lost his ride.
And out there, there's no help. He has no means of transportation except what he lost, and he has no means of communication. And so he becomes completely sad and he falls into despair. And then all of a sudden, his camel is before him. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us that Allah is more joyous than one of you, who finds his camel in that state.
And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam He also mentioned when he said
that the son of Adam, or rather the loss of Hannah, who with Allah, tells us, and this is basically a hadith could see, where Allah is narrating, he says, or rather, where the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is narrating from a lot. And so Allah says, oh, son of Adam, as long as you call upon me and ask of me, I shall forgive you for what you have done.
And I won't mind, oh, son of Adam, were your seasons to reach the clouds of the sky. And were you then to come to me and ask me for forgiveness, I would forgive you, or son of Adam, were you to come to me, oh, son of Adam, were you to come to me, with Siemens, as great as the earth.
And you are not to associate any partners with me. And then you were to face me and come to me, seeking my forgiveness. I would bring you forgiveness
as equal as the Earth's surface.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala wants us to turn to Him in repentance. And he is joyous and happy and pleased when we do so.
Now, the very nature of us human beings,
is the very nature of our origin. And that was our father, Adam alayhis salam.
And we all know the sin that Adam and Eve Salaam committed eating from the tree after he was forbidden to do so.
And so, we are prone to sin.
We are prone to sin, and we can never avoid it.
But unlike our father, Adam and Sara, most human beings, they sin and then they continue and persist in their sinning.
Thus, they take on the nature of the enemy of Adam, and that is the beliefs he believes was also a pious slave of Allah, an obedient worshiper. But then he had pride in his heart, and he refused to Prostrate to Adam, he disobeyed a last command.
And he did not return from that disobedience. He didn't repent to Allah. He didn't realize his sin. He didn't regret what he did. Instead, he persisted, he persisted and went on to promise a law to misguide the sons of Adam.
And so we see the difference between the two.
And Adam alayhis salam, he repented to Allah, whereas the police did not. And most of the sons of Adam today have taken on the nature of their enemy, instead of taking on the nature of their father Adam alayhis salam who turned to Allah in repentance.
So just like every single human being is prone to sin, they are also commanded to repent. Thus, no one is free from repenting. That is a reality. Whoever thinks that he does not have to repent. He is only diluted, he is only diluted and he is misguiding himself and so the process
Allahu Allah who will send them he said
that every son of Adam is a sinner, he commits sins. But the best of those who commit sins are those who are always repenting from their sins. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, by him, in whose hand is my life, if you were to if you were not to commit sin, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence, and would replace you with the people who would commit sin, and then seek Allah's forgiveness, and he would forgive them. And so it is a blessing from Allah subhanahu wa tada that he has made the door to repentance, wide open for us 24 hours 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. And that door only closes on one of two occasions,
either when the soul is coming out and leaves our body and then it's too late or before the day of judgment when the sun rises from the west as a prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that at that time it is too late to turn to Allah in repentance.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala He wants us to turn to Him in repentance. He says kuliah eva de la Vina a sarafa and fusi him latoken Otto nirvash Mattila in the LA years of Euro Dubai Jamia in who will say, oh my servants who have transgressed against themselves by sending do not despair of the mercy of Allah for Allah. He forgives all sins. Indeed it is he who is the Forgiving and the merciful and a loss of Hannah who without it says elemi Allah and allow her who is about to tell that he that he were who sort of caught you are no longer with the wallboard Rahim? Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts the repentance from his servants? And he also receives charities, and
that it is a loss of Hannah who were to Allah? Who is the one who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful? Do you not see that? And so Allah subhanho wa Taala. He wants us to turn to Him in repentance. And he loves that. When we do. We'll take a quick break here and be right back after a few moments.
Salam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh welcome back to this episode of heart therapy. And as we mentioned earlier, this is our last and final episode for this program.
In this episode, we have been speaking about one of the actions of the heart and that is a Toba or repentance.
And so repentance is of various kinds, or we can say
the repentance, in which we turn to Allah seeking His forgiveness is for two different things. One is specific, and the other is general, specific meaning for specific sins. And so when you turn to align repentance, you are asking the Lord to forgive you for a specific sin that you committed that Oh Lord, forgive me for that sin. No matter how many times you have committed that sin, but you are asking Allah to forgive you for that particular sin or that kind of sin.
And so this is what is meant by this specific kind of repentance.
What that means is
what that means is that you have repented from that particular kind of sin. And so, if someone who has repented, for example, from the sin of Xena fornication or adultery with a specific woman
while still committing, Zina with other women,
is that x? Is that repentance accepted from him? No, it's not accepted.
And so contrary to repenting from one kind of sin while committing another kind of sin, so for example, someone he may have repented from Riba being involved in interest.
And he has completely left that off. But he may still be committing another sin, for example, drinking alcohol. So his, his repentance from the Riba that is acceptable from him. So here, now you can see the difference between the two. So the point is, that the first kind of repentance is from specific sins. The second kind of repentance is the general one, where you are asking a law to forgive you for all the sins that you have committed, the ones you know of, and the ones you do not know of the ones that you have forgotten, or they do not come to mind. As for someone who repents from all sins, and then while he's asking a lot for forgiveness, he then remembers a specific sin.
So he is supposed to ask the Lord to forgive him for that specific sin. And it is not right for him to leave asking a lot for forgiveness for that particular sin. Otherwise, his repentance is not acceptable. And that is because he may decide, you know, that particular sin, I'm going to continue committing it.
And so the general kind of repentance is that you're asking a lot to forgive you for all your sins in general, the ones you know of, and the ones that you have forgotten about. Now, if you do not remember those things, then you are accepting your repentance will be accepted, then your repentance, it will be accepted from you until you remember the particular sin and then ask the Lord to forgive you for that particular sin.
Now, what do we repent from? Exactly what do we repent from? The scholars have mentioned that we repent from two things. The first is committing sins, and also abandoning obligatory acts. And so it was a parent who has commanded us with certain things, and he has forbidding us from other things. Many people think that repentance is only for the sins that we have committed. The things that Allah has forbidden us from, without realizing that abandoning obligatory acts, is also a sin. And so for example, someone who never used to pray, he needs to seek repentance. And if you never used to pray ever in his life, then he wasn't even a Muslim to begin with. And so he has to say his Shahada
again,
but other sins, a person needs to seek repentance from whether it was a prohibited act that he was indulging in, or an obligatory act that he had abandoned. The second thing that we are supposed to repent, from our good deeds, yes, good deeds. You may be confused. You may be wondering good deeds, how are we supposed to seek a loss forgiveness for good deeds in two ways. The first is our shortcomings in those good deeds. All of us we pray, but how many of us have prayed a proper prayer with who sure in it, following every step of the prayer as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam taught us and so there will be shortcomings without a doubt, in every single one of our acts of
worship. None of us can worship a loss of Hannah who attalla perfectly 100% in the way Allah subhanho wa Taala wants us to worship Him. And so we asked the Lord to forgive us for our shortcomings in those good deeds or those acts of worship. The second reason why we ask Allah to forgive us, for or that which is related to good deeds,
is what comes before the deed and what may come after it. And so perhaps our intention was not correct before the deed. And so there was some react involved, Ria is basically showing off doing the deed for other than the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala. As for after the deed, then that is something known as an urge or self admiration. After you have done the deed or the act of worship. You think yourself as if you did something great and you have
cried in your heart, you think you did that all by yourself? forgetting that it was a loss of Hannah, who would Allah Who made you to do that? Who aided you in doing that good deed.
Now, what are the conditions for an accepted repentance? And so since repentance it means to turn to Allah Subhana, WA tada and remove the barriers that come between us and him.
It has certain conditions that must be fulfilled, in order for it to be accepted these conditions, they prove the honesty of the one who is repenting to Allah. And so not every person who claims to have repented to Allah is necessarily honest in that, and so not everyone's repentance is acceptable to Allah Subhana whatnot. So we have to know what are the conditions that will make my repentance acceptable before Allah Subhana, who was
the first condition is the first condition for any act of worship, any good deed and repentance is an act of worship. And that is a clause sincerity of intention. And so, the urge behind repenting, it must be because you love Allah, because you are venerating Allah, you are fearing loss, punishment. And so you turn to align repentance. This is what is driving you to repent to Allah, not some worldly reason, not some other worldly reasons. And so some people, they may repent because of others, because they're afraid of others like children,
young ones, who they may repent, because their parents they tell them to repent to Allah. And so it has to be for the sake of Allah. Hello. The second condition for having our repentance accepted is to see these committing the sin immediately.
You must completely stop committing the sin. You cannot say, Oh Allah, I asked him to forgive me for the sin and you're still involved in it. And so for example, you can be involved in Riba in interest, while still being involved in it and asking Allah to forgive you for it, saying, tomorrow, I'll go and close. Whatever Riba based deals and transactions, I had no, first close the transaction, and it sees it, then turn to Allah in repentance.
The third condition for an acceptable repentance is regret in the heart, such a remorse that causes you to break down before a loss of Hannah who went to *.
And so it can't be all law asking for forgiveness. And yet, your heart doesn't feel anything. Rather, your heart is still attached to the sin.
Your heart is finding pleasure in that sin. And yet, you're asking a lot to forgive, you know, you must regret having committed that sin. feel a burning remorse
in your heart, before you feel that on the Day of Judgment, which Allah subhanho wa Taala referred to as the date of regret.
The fourth condition for any acceptable repentance
is to have the strong determination to never ever return to that sin ever again. Such that you repent, and you promise yourself that you will never do it again. You will never go back to that sin ever again. And not just a promise, not just a thought, but a strong will a strong determination. That Yes, I'm never going back to that sin ever again in my life. Now, if you happen to end up going back to that sin,
while you made the strong determination not to go back to it, then that's a different story. That's a different story. But what we're talking about is someone who may not have the strong determination.
And then he goes back to the same again, we say that you must have the strong determination not to go back Otherwise, your repentance is not accepted. The fifth condition for any acceptable repentance is that it must be done at the valid time for the acceptance of repentance. And that is, as we mentioned previously, before death and before the sun rises,
from the west, and so Allah subhanho wa Taala. He said, when he said to Toba to larina, Yama, Luna say at Hector either help or ahead will know to call it a need to be told an. But repentance is not accepted from those who continue to do evil.
Until when death comes to one of them, he says, indeed, I have now repented, it's too late. And because now you've seen the reality, you've seen the accuracy is too late. Finally, the last condition for an acceptable repentance is
if the same involves rights of others, then their rights must be restored, either by returning to them, what you took from them wrongly, or asking them to pardon you. And that is because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam warned us that we should return what we owe to our brothers, before a day comes, in which there will be no dinar, nor any dyrham.
And then on that day, what will happen? Is
that
the wrongdoing that we did to our brothers,
they will
and so what will happen on that day? Is that the wrongdoing that we did to our brothers, it will come back on us and so they will take from our good deeds, and if we don't have any, their sins will end up going onto us. Finally,
what are some of the ways in which we can?
Finally, what are some of the ways that will help us to sincerely repent to Allah subhanho wa Taala Firstly, by paying attention to the consequences of sins that we have committed, secondly, by paying attention to the advantages of repentance, and finally, having knowledge of these conditions that we mentioned,
I ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to grant us all a sincere repentance, turning to him sincerely and honestly, from all the sins that we have committed. And finally, at the end of this episode, as it is our final episode, I ask Allah subhanahu wa tada to accept it from us and I asked Allah subhanho wa Taala to pardon us for any shortcomings. I asked Allah subhanahu wa tada to bend it to make us I asked Allah subhanho wa Taala to make each and every single one of us to have benefited from what we have learned with that we conclude. So by Nicola home they'll be handed a shadow Allah, Allah Allah and so if you were to relate was Salam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa he AlLahi wa barakato.
Oh my life I
