Shaykh Yasir Qadhi talks about Allah’s promise in answering dua. One of the most powerful verses in the Qur’an that ascertains the acceptability of any dua is as follows.
ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
Call on Me, I will answer your prayer.
[Surah Ghafir, 40:60]
There are three ways in which a dua is accepted.
- You will get what you want
- You will get something equivalent for the dua you asked
- Any calamity that was in your way will be averted
The Shaykh implores us to never be stingy in asking duas to Allah. The more you ask Allah, the more He will love us.

Allah is much more than what you can ask for a law who Allah is more than what you can ask for. So
my dear brothers and sisters, never ever, ever be stingy in your draft. Our Prophet sallallahu
Sallam said a hedonist the most stingy of people man died and a dog who's too stingy to make dua,
make dua for each and everything. ask Allah and continue to ask a lot and never be stingy to ask
Allah subhana wa Tada, one of our scholars of the past said, the son of Adam, the more you ask him,
the more irritated he gets with you. But Allah The more you ask him, the more he loves you, the son
of Adam, the more you ask, the more you'll want nothing to do with you, even your best friend, how

much can you ask from him before he'll get tired, but Allah subhanho wa Taala The more you ask, the
more he will love you. And I conclude with this famous quote of I shall have the loved one that will
mother and the most beloved wife of the Prophet sallallahu wasallam. She said, if your shoelace
breaks, make dua that Allah gives you a new shoelace, because unless Allah has willed it, you won't
get a new shoelace. The point of this is never trivialize your job. If your shoelace breaks you
don't have a shoelace. May Allah give me another one that is not trivial in the eyes of Allah, you
are showing a law you are the abbot and he is the rob you are showing Allah you need everything. So
