sallam said, that charity is due on every single limb of your body. A man said, O Messenger of
		

			Allah, what if I don't have money to give charity, he said, a good word, or even a smile will count
as a charity, a good word or even a smile, even your smile is Odin sadita even being cheerful when
you meet some giving a positive word of encouragement, somebody is going through a calamity and you

			reputation is in is in arrears. It is in problem. If you say something positive, your whole
reputation is lifted up. The tongue is the ambassador to the rest of the body. This is in the Quran
and then the Sunnah, and that is why Allah is saying, if you correct your tongue, the rest of your

sisters about the tongue. Our scholars give advice about how we can monitor the tongue. First and
foremost the first advice from the Hadith. Our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam advised to cut
back on all types of speech. The wise person is not the one who talks a lot. No, our Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would observe long times of silence, we need to cut back on blabbering
away on talking all the time. Silence is our Savior and another Hadith our Prophet sallallahu alayhi
		

			wa sallam prays long silence Buddhists sometimes be quiet for long periods of time. In multiple a
hadith he advised us Don't say anything. You don't have to say every time say something. And no
opinion, a silent opinion is better than a wrong opinion. being quiet is better than saying

speak when you are very angry. never speak when your blood is boiling, no, control your tongue, and
then only speak when your emotions have been put in check. A third thing that our scholars advise us
		

			is before you say it out loud, say it inside of your head. Think about the repercussions of your
tongue. Abraham says when you speak it is like an arrow that has left the bow you cannot bring it
back once you say it. When you speak it is like shooting an arrow from a bow. Once it leaves your
tongue you can never bring it back. So think before you fire that arrow. Think before you say
something that might damage your relationship, bring about a divorce, hurt somebody's feelings,
destroy the friendship of many years. Be very, very careful, dear brothers and sisters, and err on
the side of caution for you to be quiet for a period of time and then think and then think through

state of emotion. And then so many years of good work so many good deeds might be gone away. And

we're having conversations, let not the topic of our conversations be other human beings and their

carry the tales of other people's issues. Keep your tongue free, as Allah says in the story of
Ayesha, in the famous slander of art is a story that came down. Allah says in the Quran, when you
heard these rumors, Why weren't you quiet? And you say Subhana Allah, this is an evil. Why did you
have to spread it with your tongue? Subhana Allah, Allah is criticizing some who all they did they
spread things and they said things that they heard from other people. And Allah said, Why did you
have to say anything? Be quiet and say Subhana Allah, why did you have to go from town to town? And
		

			this is exactly what our Prophet says and referenced when he said, perhaps somebody says one
statement, and he doesn't even realize and because of that his whole good deeds have been made
inconsequential, dear Muslims, monitor your tongue, make sure you are in control of your tongue, or
else your tongue will be in control over you make sure that when you say something, it is accurate,
it is true, it is beneficial, it is something that will bring about good otherwise it is better to
be quiet, rather than to say something that will bring about so much harm. May Allah subhanahu wa
