Tom Facchine – 99 Names of Allah #84 Al-Hafiyy

			Salam aleikum. Tonight's name is Al haffi. Allah azza wa jal is Al Hafi. And haffi means that Allah
subhanho wa Taala treats us with gentleness and with care and with affection.
		

			Allah subhana wa Tada is not harsh. He's not crass. He's not going to rough us up or treat us in any
sort of rude way. And this is a really interesting name because Allah mentions it in the core N.
When Ibrahim Ali he set up, is having an argument with his father. For those of you who know the
story, you know that Ibrahim alayhi salam, his father not only worshipped idols, but he actually
made the idols himself with his own hands. And so Ibrahim was very sad by this and tried and tried
and tried again, to argue and convince and convince his father to stop what he was doing, and to
only worship Allah subhanho wa Taala alone. Finally, Abraham's father got so upset with him, that he
		

			threatened him and said that if Abraham didn't leave him alone, to worship his idols, that he was
going to hurt Abraham.
		

			When that happened, Ibrahim realized that he had to stop and kind of walk away from the situation.
So one of the last things he said to his father before leaving him was that he was going to continue
to ask a law to forgive and to guide his father. And the reason why he said that he wasn't going to
give up on his father and the the reason why he said he was going to keep on asking a lot to forgive
him to guide him was because Allah has always been to him, her feet, that Allah has always been
gentle and merciful and careful.
		

			And so if Abraham knew that this is who Allah was, then Abraham hoped that there was still some
chance that his father could be guided and receive mercy from Allah as well.
