Wa salatu wa salamu ala sayyidina wa habibina
muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma'in.
Rabbish rahli sadri wa yassili amri wahlul aqdatan
min lisani yaqqa wa qawla amma ba'd.
All praise is due to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala and peace be upon Muhammad sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam.
I testify that there is no god except
Allah and I testify that Muhammad is the
prophet and the messenger of Allah.
My sisters in Islam, alhamdulillah, it's another great
opportunity that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gets
us together to remind ourselves of Allah and
the Deen of Allah and how can we
get closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
In particular the month of Ramadan is only
a few days away and the month of
Ramadan is a great blessed month that Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala had blessed us with
and it is a gift from Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala upon you and I, a
gift that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had
gifted us, a gift that Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala had gifted this ummah.
Subhanallah, a true believer looks forward to the
moment that he or she can get closer
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
A true believer looks forward to those moments
that connects them to Allah azzawajal and the
month of Ramadan is a great opportunity, a
moment that we can connect ourselves to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala and be with Allah
azzawajal.
And that's why one of the main things
that we try and acquire and achieve out
of the month of Ramadan is to achieve
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's forgiveness.
Part of that is for us to purify
our hearts.
How can we purify our hearts and souls
and clean our souls from the sins?
Now obviously Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
the one that created good and bad.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the one
that created good days and bad days.
Yes, that's what we believe in as believers,
as Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the one
that created goodness and badness.
Allah created goodness for us to follow and
badness for us to keep away from.
However, unfortunately as human beings we are weak.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given us
the ability to be strong and the ability
to be weak.
And that's why sometimes we become weak and
sometimes we fall into matters that we shouldn't
be falling in.
We fall into sins in which Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala told us not to fall
in.
And subhanallah out of this weakness we sleep.
We sleep even though Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala command us not to sleep and even
though Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala command us
not to commit a sin and to keep
away from the haram.
But we do fall from time to time.
We sleep from time to time.
We forget from time to time.
We neglect from time to time.
We let the bad side of us to
get the most out of us from time
to time.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala from his
rahmah and mercy in which Allah azza wa
jal is the one that has ascribed to
himself the most merciful and the most gracious
and the most forgiving.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given us
an opportunity for us that when we sleep
for us to pick ourselves up.
And when we fall for us to get
up.
And when we make a sin for Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala to forgive us.
That's a great forgiveness from Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala upon us.
It's a great rahmah, mercy, forgiveness from Allah
azza wa jal upon us.
So we do forget from time to time.
We do commit a sin from time to
time.
And that's why it's so important for us
that we remind ourselves that if we fall
we shouldn't just stay on the ground.
We pick ourselves up.
If we commit a sin we shouldn't just
keep in our minds that we are very
bad people and that Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala will never forgive.
Now Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive.
So much so that the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam said, If you don't commit
a sin and ask Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala for forgiveness Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
will create people and Allah azza wa jal
will bring people that fall in sins and
seek Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's forgiveness.
That doesn't mean that you should go and
fall in a sin.
That shouldn't encourage you to fall in a
sin.
That should encourage you not to ever fall
in a sin.
But that should also encourage that if you
do sleep and forget that you ask Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala for his rahmah, mercy
and forgiveness.
And for that my sister in Islam and
even though today's lesson and every single Saturday
at 1.30pm is targeted and more focused
to the sisters but all brothers and sisters
in Australia and around the world are welcome
to be part of this gathering, are welcome
to be part of this lesson online in
particular.
So my sisters in Islam, my brothers in
Islam, it's important for us to keep in
mind that whenever we sleep we pick ourselves
up.
When we commit a sin we repent to
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and seek Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala's forgiveness and at the
same time we purify our hearts because part
of the forgiveness of Allah azza wa jal
is that we purify our hearts.
Part of the forgiveness of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala is that we clean our hearts.
Part of the forgiveness of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala is that we clean our hearts
from the sins.
Because what happens there my sister in Islam,
when you commit a sin there's a black
dot that's been dotted in your heart.
There's a black dot that's been dotted in
your heart.
as the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
says and Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says
that each time the son of Adam, each
time someone commits a sin, a black dot
is dotted in their heart and you could
imagine when you've got a white page and
then you just continue putting a black dot,
black dot, black dot, black dot what happens
to that white page, it turns into black
and dark likewise, your heart is originally white
your heart is originally clean and pure the
more you commit sins, the more you make
your heart dark and the more you make
your heart dirty and that's why it's your
responsibility as a believer to cleanse your heart,
to clean your heart for that Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala had given us the opportunity
that when our hearts get dirty, He gives
us this opportunity for us to purify our
hearts when our hearts get dark, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala had given us this opportunity
for us to turn it into light Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala had given us the
opportunity that when our hearts get dirty, He
gives us this opportunity for us to purify
our hearts when our hearts get dark, Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala had given us this
opportunity for us to turn it into light
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had given us
the opportunity that when our hearts get dirty,
He gives us this opportunity for us to
purify our hearts when our hearts get dark,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had given us
this opportunity for us to turn it into
light Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had given
us the opportunity that when our hearts get
dirty, He gives us this opportunity for us
to purify our hearts when our hearts get
dark, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had given
us the opportunity for us to turn it
into light Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had
given us the opportunity for us to turn
it into light Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
had given us the opportunity for us to
turn it into light Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala had given us the opportunity for us
to turn it into light Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala had given us the opportunity good
by
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala the wrong
doings and the sins to purify our hearts
from the wrong thoughts and the misconduct and
wrong actions Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala send
the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to
us with the quran and the summa of
the prophet aleyhi salatu wasalam to clean this
heart that's why the prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam says the hearts rust the hearts
rust the way a metal bar or a
metal rust and the best way for you
to clean it is to continue remembering allah
azzawajal and that's one of the things that
we'll be talking about today is how can
we purify our hearts and at this current
moment none of us is 100 pure in
their hearts we fall from time to time
we commit sins from time to time whether
it's a minor sin or a major sin
and at the end of the day one
of the biggest mistakes that some people fall
into is that they look at it oh
is this a major sin i'm not going
to commit if it's a minor sin i'll
commit it no at the end of the
day whether you commit a minor sin or
a major sin you are disobeying allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala the almighty so whether it's
a small sin or a big sin at
the end of the day it's still allah
disobeying and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
not worthy of being disobeyed allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala doesn't deserve to be disobeyed so
don't look at the size of the sin
look at the one that you are disobeying
and that's something the scholars have taught us
do not look at the size of the
sin but look at the greatness of allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala that you are disobeying
for that my sister in islam we are
human beings and we are prone to fall
into sins it's part of our nature that
sometimes we are captivated and we are lured
into falling into the sins but allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala gives us an exit strategy
allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us an
exit opportunity that if you fall into the
sin you pick yourself up and go back
to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala which is
the process that we usually call toba what's
toba when you fall you pick yourself up
when you turn away from allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala you turn back to allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala when you commit the sin
now purify and clean it this is what
we call toba and the month of ramadan
is the month of toba and there is
a hadith the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam makes mention even though some of the
scholars had mentioned that this hadith is a
weak hadith but we can use it for
situations or we could use it for events
like this event that the beginning of the
month of ramadan is a beginning of mercy
and halfway through the month of ramadan is
forgiveness and the last part of the month
of ramadan is salvation from the hellfire allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala will save you from
the hellfire so the first 10 days the
first third of the month of ramadan is
mercy from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala which
allah azza wa jad will have mercy upon
you and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will
shower you with his mercy the second third
of the month of ramadan is forgiveness from
allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala will continue to forgive you
until the last part and third of the
month of ramadan that allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala will save you from the hellfire may
allah subhanahu wa ta'ala have mercy upon
us forgive us and save us from the
hellfire and what happens when you are saved
from the hellfire it is only one other
way فَمَنْ زُحْزِحْ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ
فَازْ That's that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
removes them away from the hellfire.
Where's their destiny?
Their destiny is in the paradise.
It's either hellfire or the paradise.
So the month of Ramadan is a great
opportunity for us to purify our hearts and
clean our hearts from the sins.
From the haram that we have been committing.
Whether the haram that we've looked at, that's
a black dot in the heart.
Whether the haram that we've listened to, that's
another black dot in the heart.
Whether the haram that we spoke, that's another
black dot in the heart.
Whether the haram that we have touched, that's
another black dot in the heart.
Whether that's haram that we've earned or we
gave, that's another black dot in the heart.
Whether that's haram that we walked to, that's
another black dot in the heart.
So there's a number of black dots and
some people's hearts became so dark and black.
This is the opportunity for them to purify
it.
Even if you look at yourself and you
might turn around and say, you know what,
my heart is so black and my heart
is so dark.
And do you know what, there's no opportunity
for me to cleanse and purify my heart.
Your heart can be purified.
And the month of Ramadan is a great
opportunity for you to purify your heart.
The month of Ramadan is a great opportunity
for you to turn your heart from darkness
to light.
The month of Ramadan is a great opportunity
for you to turn your heart from black
to white.
A pure heart.
From an impure heart to a pure heart.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accepts anyone.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the
Qur'an al-Karim, Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala forgives all sins.
No matter how big, massive their sins are.
How many of their sins there are.
No matter what you've done in your life,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive the
sin.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive the
sin.
So my sister in Islam, this is an
opportunity for us for the month of Ramadan.
In particular, the month of Ramadan is only
days away from now.
It's for us to purify our hearts.
To clean our hearts.
And it all starts with a sincere repentance.
That we repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala sincerely.
That, ya Allah, I regret in disobeying you.
And yes, you should be regretful.
You should be regretful in disobeying Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
Who are you to disobey Allah azza wa
jal?
What are you to disobey Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala?
Subhanallah, look how merciful and forgiving Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala is.
That Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us
not to do it.
We end up doing it and Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala doesn't even punish us.
Why?
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in
the Qur'an al-Kareem, Allah delays it.
Allah delays his punishment.
Why?
Not because he wants to punish you later
on.
Because he wants to give you an opportunity
for you to purify yourself.
For you to fix yourself.
For you to correct yourself.
For you to repent.
Imagine when you are a boss or you're
a manager or you own a business and
he told your employees not to do this.
And if you do this, you'll be punished.
So they'll end up doing it.
You give them a chance.
Then the second time they'll do it.
And then you say to them, if you're
going to do it the next time, I'm
going to sack you.
I'm going to get rid of you.
And then they do it the second time
or the third time.
Yeah, and you have the full rights for
you to get rid of him.
You have the full rights to sack him.
Why?
Because you've warned them the first time.
You've warned them the second time.
And you've even given them the third warning.
And then subhanallah you've acted upon it.
And you know what?
You rightly, you have the full rights to
do so.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us not
to commit the sin.
And we end up committing the sin.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't punish
us.
Then we commit the sins again.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't punish
us.
Then we commit the sins again.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't punish
us.
And we continue committing the sins and sins
and sins and sins.
And who?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, our Lord doesn't
punish us.
Why?
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us
the opportunity.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us another
chance for us to save ourselves from the
punishment of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala which
is hellfire.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us a
chance for us to purify our hearts.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us the
chance for us to clean our hearts.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us the
chance for us to seek Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala's forgiveness.
That's why Allah doesn't punish you when you
commit a sin.
When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has the
full rights to do so.
Subhanallah, do you think about it that Allah
tells you not to do something.
You end up doing it and you do
it again and again and again and again.
How many people?
than pray.
When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells them
to pray every single day five times a
day and they continue not to pray and
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't even punish
them.
Why?
Because Allah wants to forgive them.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants to have
mercy upon them until they transgress against themselves
where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given
them so many chances but then they don't
even take advantage of the chances Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala had given them.
They blow them all up.
They don't even take care of them.
They don't even take advantage of them and
then subhanAllah they die and that's when Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala punishes them.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala doesn't punish you
on the spot.
Tell me about one person that you know
of.
You talk about yourself and Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala punish you over a sin that
you just committed.
Maybe over time when you just committed so
many sins Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala punishes
but Allah doesn't punish at the very beginning
when someone commits a sin.
That's how merciful Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is.
That's why my sister in Islam, it's so
in order for us to purify our hearts
is to repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala.
That we repent to Allah and seek Allah's
forgiveness as the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasalam
used to do.
Where the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasalam will
repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and
seek Allah's forgiveness every single day over 100
times.
And Allah subhana wa ta'ala calls upon
the disobedient servants and look at this call
from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala addressing from
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to the the
disobedient servants, not the obedient servants.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is calling upon
you as a disobedient servant, as a sinner
who commits the sins.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
calling upon all my servants who have committed
sins, all my sinful servants, all my servants
who have been disobeying me, all my servants
who have been committing the sins and the
haram, do not be despondent, do not be
despondent from the mercy of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala and the forgiveness of Allah azza.
Don't lose hope in Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala's forgiveness, don't lose hope in Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala's mercy.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفُرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًۭا Indeed, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala forgives all the sins.
You seek Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's forgiveness
and you are sincere in seeking Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala's forgiveness, you are sincere in
your istighfar, you are sincere in your repentance,
Allah will forgive.
No matter what you've done, إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفُرُ
الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًۭا Indeed, Allah forgives all the sins.
Allah will indeed forgive all the sins, all
the types of sins, every single type, every
single kind of sin, but you seek Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala's forgiveness and that's part
of repentance.
And also my sister in Islam, part of
you purifying your heart from the sins and
purifying your heart to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala and have a clean heart because Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the holy
Quran, إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَىٰ اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍۢ Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala will only save those
from the hellfire, those who, إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَىٰ
اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍۢ Those that come to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala and stand before Allah
azza wa jal, إِنَّهِيْ أَفْتَىٰ ۚ With a
pure and clean heart.
Allah will save those who come to Him
إِنَّهِيْ أَفْتَىٰۚ And stand in front of Him
إِنَّهِيْ أَفْتَىٰۚ With a pure heart.
Allah will save them from the hellfire.
So in order for you to be saved
from the hellfire, you need to have a
pure heart.
You need to have a clean heart.
How do you have a clean heart?
Is that you constantly seek Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala's forgiveness and repent to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
And part of that is to feel remorseful
or regretful over the committing of the sin.
You need to be remorseful.
You need to feel that guilt, that remorse
in your heart that you have committed a
sin.
Who are you to disobey Allah azza wa
jal?
What are you to disobey Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala?
What do you have over Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala to disobey Allah azza wa jal?
What guts do you have to disobey Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala?
What courage do you have to disobey Allah
azza wa jal?
We are nobodies in front of Allah.
We are the creation of Allah.
We are little tiny dependent creatures on Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the one
that made us and Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala is the one that created us and
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the one
that sustained us and Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala is the one that gives us everything.
Look at it right now, a virus that
we can't even see.
Look what it did to the entire world.
It crumbled the world.
Who are you?
Who am I in front of Allah azza
wa jal?
That's why we need to be remorseful.
We need to be remorseful ever disobeying Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala and acknowledge our sins.
If you're not going to acknowledge the sin
that you had committed, if you're not going
to acknowledge that you had committed the haram
and you know that you are wrong, that
means you're not purifying your heart.
How are you going to purify your heart
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and have
a pure heart if you continue to believe
that the sin that you had committed was
right?
You need to be someone who acknowledges.
You acknowledge that the sin is wrong.
You disobeyed Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Otherwise, you're not remorseful.
Deep inside, you need to think about and
say, you know what, I had committed a
sin, it's wrong.
I disobeyed Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, it's
wrong.
I committed the haram, it's wrong.
Deep inside, you have this full acknowledgement.
Deep inside, you have this full acknowledgement and
conviction that you had disobeyed Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
Also, my sister in Islam, what helps you
to purify your heart from the sins is
to be and someone who constantly prays and
not only prays, I know most of us,
if not all of us do pray, but
praying your prayers on time.
Praying your prayers on time.
So, one of the ways of us purifying
our hearts is for us to pray our
prayers on time.
To pray our prayers on time and to
pray our prayers with khushu, with concentration and
devotion.
So, not only to pray the prayers, not
only to establish the prayers in our lives,
but part of us purifying our hearts is
for us to pray our prayers on time
and to pray our prayers in khushu and
to pray our prayers in accordance to the
way of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam.
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, فَوَيْنُ
لِلْمُصَلِّينَ الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَهُونَ Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala promises hellfire and punishment for
those that delay their prayers.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, قَدْ
أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ Indeed,
the believers had succeeded those who have concentration
and devotion in their salah.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala commands us
to pray the prayer in accordance to the
way of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam.
As the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
rightly says, صَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُنِي أُصَلِّي Pray the
way you see me praying.
So, we pray in the way of the
Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
So, not only that we pray our prayers,
but we must pray our prayers on time.
We pray our prayers in accordance to the
way of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam.
And we pray our prayers with khushu' in
concentration and devotion.
That when we say Allahu Akbar, and we
raise our hands up, we really mean it.
We really mean it that Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala is the greatest.
And we put everything behind us because Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala is in front of
us.
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the
greatest.
And everything else beside Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala is small.
Everything else beside Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is significant.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the only
significant one.
Everyone else is insignificant.
That's why my sister in Islam, in order
for your heart to be purified, you must
pray your prayers.
Pray them on time.
Pray them with khushu' and pray them in
accordance to the way of the Prophet Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
You need to be conscious and you need
to be mindful that when you pray your
prayers, there's no delay in your prayers.
You pray your prayers on time.
When the caller of the prayer calls to
prayer and he says, حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ
عَلَى الفَلَحِ he dropped everything and he got
to the prayers.
Yes, you could delay a few minutes.
Yes, you could delay maybe 10-15 minutes
because you are caught up in here and
there.
But you shouldn't be delaying your prayers hours.
You shouldn't slip through your prayers.
You shouldn't neglect your prayers.
So you pray your prayers on time.
And you pray your prayers with khushu' that
you are really standing in front of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala and you feel it.
You feel that you are really standing in
front of Allah azza wa jalla.
You're not just doing motions.
You're not just doing gestures.
You're not just doing actions, going up and
down.
No, you are really standing in front of
Allah azza wa jalla and you feel that
you are really standing in front of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
You feel the presence of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
You feel that you are really speaking to
Allah azza wa jalla because that's what the
prayers is all about.
And you make sure that you pray your
prayers in accordance to the way of the
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
صَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُنِ أُصَلِّي Pray the way you
see me praying as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
says.
And if you don't know how the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ prayed, then you should go and
seek knowledge how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed.
You should go and learn.
Educate yourself.
Especially now, we've got a lot of time
on our hands.
Go and educate yourself.
One of the things I urge and encourage
every single one of you right now for
you to take a course.
For you to take a course, how can
you pray?
How do you pray?
How did the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ pray?
One of the things I encourage every single
one of us.
Take a course.
Go and watch a lecture on YouTube.
Alhamdulillah, there's so many courses right now.
Online, on YouTube, on Facebook, that will teach
you how to pray in accordance to the
way of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, إِنَّ
الصَّلَاطَةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ That the salah
will prevent you away from committing the evil
deeds and the sins.
So the salah helps you to keep away
from the haram.
The salah helps you to keep away from
the sins.
The salah helps you to keep away from
disobeying Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And that's why a man came to the
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said to him, O
Messenger of Allah, what would you say about
someone who prays and continues to commit the
sins?
So the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ says, if there's
someone that prays and continues to commit the
sins, then he's not praying, she's not praying.
That doesn't mean your salah is not accepted.
Don't get me wrong.
If you pray and you commit sins, your
salah is accepted.
But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is going
to judge you of the sins that you
have committed.
However, one of the primary purposes of the
salah is that the salah will prevent you
from committing the sins, will keep you away
from committing the sins.
So if you continue to pray and you
continue to commit the sins, there's something wrong
in your salah.
Not in the actual structure of the salah,
not in the teachings of the salah, not
in the principles of the salah, not in
the way the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ pray.
It's the way that you are praying.
It's the way that you are praying.
So one of the things that we gain
out of the salah, one of the objectives
that we achieve out of the salah is
that the salah will prevent you and keep
you away from committing the sins.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes that
very clear in the Qur'an Kareem.
So my sister in Islam, it's important that
we pray.
And we pray on time.
And we pray with devotion.
And we pray in accordance to the way
of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
And the salah will help you to purify
your heart.
Salah will help you to purify and cleanse
your heart.
Subhanallah.
Yes, the salah will help you to purify.
And Nabi ﷺ gives an example of the
salah.
And your five daily prayers, as if someone
who is washing themselves from a river every
single day five times a day.
And Nabi ﷺ says, Would you, can you
comprehend someone who washes himself five times a
day, whether from a river or having a
shower?
Can you comprehend someone having a shower five
times a day?
And they still stink?
Can you comprehend someone who has five times
a day shower, has a shower five times
a day, and this person is still dirty?
It doesn't make sense.
Likewise, when someone continues to pray five times
a day, then they shouldn't be carrying any
form of impurity.
What impurity are we talking about?
We're not talking about tangible impurity.
We're talking about the sins and the haram.
That's impurity.
The sin is a dirt.
A sin is a filth.
A sin is impurity.
It's a dirt and impurity.
It's disgusting.
It's the most disgusting thing in your life.
Yes, you don't see or touch it, but
in your heart, it's there.
That's why Nabi ﷺ gives the example of
someone making wudu or someone washing themselves five
times a day.
Can you imagine this person being dirty?
Likewise, someone who prays five times a day,
they shouldn't be dirty.
Dirty in which way?
In their heart and being connected to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Also, my sister, one of the rituals and
acts that help you to purify your heart
is the Qur'an-e-Karim.
Reciting the Qur'an-e-Karim and connecting
yourself to the book of Allah azzawajal.
We all know that the month of Ramadan
is the month of the Qur'an.
And we look forward to the month of
Ramadan because it connects us to the Qur
'an-e-Karim.
Even though that's wrong that you only connect
yourself to the Qur'an-e-Karim in
the month of Ramadan when your heart should
be connected to the Qur'an-e-Karim
24-7.
Before the month of Ramadan, in the month
of Ramadan, after the month of Ramadan.
However, the month of Ramadan is a month
that subhanAllah will increase from our recitation to
the Qur'an-e-Karim.
And part of reciting the Qur'an-e
-Karim and connecting yourself to the book of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that will also
cleanse and purify your heart.
Purifying your heart through the Qur'an-e
-Karim.
Purify your heart through the recitation of the
Qur'an-e-Karim.
أَلَىٰ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبِ And the remembrance
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in your
heart will become content.
And reciting the Qur'an-e-Karim will
make your heart content.
But also, the Qur'an-e-Karim will
also purify your heart.
And that's one of the things that we
can achieve out of the recitation of the
Qur'an-e-Karim.
That we purify our hearts through the recitation
of the Qur'an-e-Karim.
We purify our hearts through reading the book
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Listening to Allah azza wa jalla.
The Qur'an-e-Karim is the words
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Allah had revealed to Muhammad ﷺ.
So when you open the Qur'an-e
-Karim and you read the Qur'an-e
-Karim, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is talking
to you.
And that's why when Allah is speaking to
you, your heart should be cleansed, your heart
should be purified.
And for that, you should put yourself a
program.
And now the month of Ramadan is around
the corner.
Put yourself a solid, concrete program that you'll
be reading something from the Qur'an-e
-Karim every single day.
And make sure that you maintain that after
the month of Ramadan.
It's so sad that you see a lot
of people that have been so disconnected from
the Qur'an-e-Karim for the past
year.
You ask many Muslims, when was the last
time you read the Qur'an-e-Karim?
They'll say to you, I read the Qur
'an-e-Karim last Ramadan.
Last time I read the Qur'an-e
-Karim was last Ramadan.
Why?
Why disconnect yourself from the book of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala?
Read the Qur'an-e-Karim every day
and every night.
Read the Qur'an-e-Karim during every
single moment of your life.
Read the Qur'an-e-Karim every day
of your life.
So reading the Qur'an-e-Karim will
purify your heart.
And subhanallah, you feel it.
You sense it every time that you read
the Qur'an-e-Karim.
And you open the book of Allah azza
wa jal.
And you read those beautiful verses and chapters
in the Qur'an-e-Karim right after
or even during.
From the moment that you read the book
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
From the moment that you start reading these
verses during the recitation of the Qur'an
-e-Karim.
And after you feel subhanallah, the heart has
already been washed.
Allahu Akbar.
It's like subhanallah, you put your heart in
a washing machine that cleaned it.
You put your heart in a washing machine
that cleaned the washing machine.
The washing machine of the Qur'an-e
-Karim.
The Qur'an-e-Karim washes your heart.
Cleans your heart.
Purifies it.
Which brings us to the other point.
Also as part of the Qur'an-e
-Karim, the remembrance of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala which is al-adhkar.
Inverting Allah azza wa jal.
Inverting Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So you've got the Qur'an-e-Karim
in which whether you memorize the Qur'an
-e-Karim or you didn't memorize the Qur
'an-e-Karim.
And you open the Qur'an-e-Karim
and you read the Qur'an-e-Karim.
You read the Qur'an-e-Karim from
your iPhone.
You read the Qur'an-e-Karim from
your devices, from your technology.
You read the Qur'an-e-Karim from
the actual book.
Or you read the Qur'an-e-Karim
while you're hearing someone else.
That helps you.
But at the same time you've got the
remembrance of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Which is inverting Allah azza wa jal.
Saying subhanallah, alhamdulillah, la ilaha illallah, allahu akbar.
Constantly remembering Allah azza wa jal.
We go back to the hadith that we
mentioned before in which the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam says that the hearts rust.
The way a metal rusts and the way
that you're going to clean your heart is
by remembering Allah azza wa jal.
The way you purify your heart is by
remembering Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
The Qur'an-e-Karim is the remembrance
of Allah azza wa jal.
But it's not always, and it's not always
easy for you to have access to the
Qur'an-e-Karim if you are working
and you're doing this.
But what's a lot more easier for you
to access is to remember Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala on your tongue.
To say subhanallah.
You don't have to open the Qur'an
-e-Karim for you to say subhanallah.
Yes, I understand.
Sometimes when it comes to reading the Qur
'an-e-Karim you have to sit and
you have to sit in a quiet zone.
You have to open the Qur'an-e
-Karim and focus.
But nothing stops you while you're working or
walking or carrying something or going somewhere.
Even if it's only a few steps for
you to say subhanallah, subhanallah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, allahu
akbar, allahu akbar, subhanallah wa bihamdihi, subhanallah al
-azim.
Glory be to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
the Great One.
Glory be to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
the Most Praised.
Nothing is stopping you from remembering Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala constantly.
And the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ says that that's
a form and a way of you purifying
your heart.
To purify your heart through remembrance of Allah
azza wa jal.
And the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ remembers Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala always.
He remembers Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala through
the recitation of the Qur'an-e-Karim.
And remembers Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala on
his tongue by saying subhanallah always, alhamdulillah always,
allahu akbar always.
And when you remember Allah azza wa jal
on your tongue, mean it.
When you say subhanallah, glory be to Allah,
mean it and understand it and comprehend it.
Alhamdulillah, mean it, understand it and comprehend it.
Allahu akbar, mean it, understand it and comprehend
it.
That's how you're going to purify your heart.
But if you're just going to remember Allah
azza wa jal on your tongue, subhanallah, subhanallah,
subhanallah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah.
And people carry the misbah and they just
want to get, just want to tick the
box.
Just you know quick, quick, quick, quick, quick,
quick.
No, subhanallah, think about it, comprehend it.
Allah is so great.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is magnificent.
Alhamdulillah, thank Allah azza wa jal for everything.
Allahu akbar, Allah is the greatest.
So contemplate subhanallah and the beautiful thing about
remembering Allah azza wa jal.
You could do that during any moment.
Subhanallah, you could do that while you are
cooking.
Subhanalah, subhanallah, subhanallah.
So you get the rewards of cooking and
the benefit of cooking and also you get
the rewards of remembering Allah subahanu wa ta
'ala.
You could do that while you're washing.
You could do that while you're working.
You could do that while you're walking.
You could do that while you're just sitting
down.
Subhanallah, alhamdulillah, la ilaha illallah, Allahu akbar.
Ibraheem alaihi salam.
When the prophet Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa salam
saw him in the seventy heaven, And he
told the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, O Muhammad convey
my salams to your nation, convey my salams
to your nation and told them that the
paradise is so beautiful and it's a flat
plain surface.
And the structure, the structure of the Jannah
is Subhanallah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wa
Allahu akbar.
So every time we say Subhanallah, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala will implant a tree for
you in the Jannah.
Every time we say alhamdulillah, Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala will implant a tree for you
in the Jannah.
Every time we say Allahu akbar, Allah will
implant a tree for you in the Jannah.
Every time we say la ilaha illallah, Allah
will implant a tree for you in the
Jannah.
Every time we say la hawla wa la
quwwata illa billah, Allah will implant a tree
for you in the Jannah.
And Nabi ﷺ says la hawla wa la
quwwata illa billah is a treasure, a treasure
from beneath the throne of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, yes treasure.
Yes treasure that people are working so hard
for and every single one of us wants
to achieve and every single one of us
wants to gain, to have treasures and they
want to have gold and jewellery and rubies
and gems.
Now you've got the greatest treasure.
What is it?
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
That's the greatest treasure in this world and
the hereafter.
All your rubies and gems and gold and
silver is not going to buy you the
Jannah.
But la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
will buy you the Jannah.
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah will
save you from the hellfire.
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah will
make you gain the pleasure of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah will
protect you and preserve you.
The Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says
if you say la ilaha illallah wahdahu la
sharika lah, lahul mulku lahul hamdu wa huwa
ala kulli shay'in qadir ten times in
the morning and ten times in the evening
which is after Fajr and after Maghrib.
You say each one of them ten times,
la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul
mulku lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay
'in qadir Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will
grant you ten hasanat and Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala will delete and erase ten sayyiat
and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will elevate
you ten steps, ten elevations, Allah will promote
you ten steps high and Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala will preserve you in the morning
when you say it to the evening and
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will preserve you
from the evening to the morning when you
say it in the evening, Allahu Akbar, where
can you buy this?
But at the same time you're also cleaning
your heart, you're washing your heart, cleansing your
heart subhanallah, cleansing the heart.
As the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
says, in the body there is a piece
of meat, if it goes straight everything else
goes straight and if it goes crooked everything
else goes crooked, if it goes gutted everything
else is gutted and if it goes misgutted
then everything else is misgutted, what's that?
The Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says,
your heart, it all goes back to your
heart, if your heart is clean the rest
of the body is clean, if the heart
is dirty then the rest of the body
is dirty and in order for you to
keep your heart clean you need to be
connected to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, you
constantly repent to Allah azzawajal, keep yourself away
from the sins and pray your prayers on
time with khushu, with devotion and accordance to
the way of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, constantly read the Qur'an kareem
and remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and
the month of Ramadan is a great month
for us to put this program for us,
first we repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala before the month of Ramadan and we
reinforce, we reiterate that repentance at the beginning
of the month of Ramadan, halfway throughout the
month of Ramadan, at the end of the
month of Ramadan, we reinforce it again, we
remind ourselves, we reconfirm it again, that ya
Allah I repent to you before the month
of Ramadan, at the beginning of the month
of Ramadan, throughout the month of Ramadan, at
the end of the month of Ramadan, after
the month of Ramadan, until I meet ya
Allah and at the same time we acknowledge
that the sin is haram, it's wrong, it's
evil, it's harmful and we keep away from
it, we pray our prayers on time and
we make sure that inshallah we continue with
that in the month of Ramadan, after the
month of Ramadan, we remember Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala always and constantly and we always
read the Qur'an kareem, connect yourself to
the book of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and don't be from amongst those that the
Qur'an kareem will come and nehiy after,
against you, as the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam says in the hadith, the Qur
'an kareem will either come for you or
against you and as Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala makes mention in the Holy Qur'an
that the Qur'an kareem will say ya
Allah, your people neglected me, abandoned me, don't
be from amongst those and constantly remember Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, the month of Ramadan
this year is a unique month and inshallah
with those tips and those rituals that I
had mentioned to you, put yourself a program,
especially that you've got spare time on your
hand and a lot of us are even
struggling with the extra time that they've got,
they don't even know what to do with
the extra time, put yourself a program, put
yourself a program, put yourself a program that
you repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
in the morning and the evening, you seek
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's forgiveness 100 times
in the morning, 100 times in the evening
or 50 times in the morning, 50 times
in the evening, you pray your prayers on
time and make sure that you focus on
your salah, you learn about the salah, if
you don't know much about the salah, educate
yourself, go and undertake a course in learning
how to pray in accordance to the way
of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
I'm sure there's a lot online, there's a
lot out there online and also take this
as an opportunity for you to connect yourself
to the Qur'an kareem, put yourself a
program, you read some verses from the Qur
'an kareem, pages from the Qur'an kareem,
after Salatul Fajr, after Salatul Dhuhr, after Salatul
Asr, after Maghrib, when you're busy and breaking
up fast, then after Salatul Isha, put yourself
a program, aim inshallah that this Ramadan, you're
going to make it to be the most
unique Ramadan that you've ever experienced in your
life, so put yourself a program and then
inshallah put yourself a program, I'm going to
be saying 100 subhanallah every single day, 100
alhamdulillah every single day, 100 allahu akbar every
single day, you can even say it collectively
together, subhanallah alhamdulillah wa la ilaha illallah wa
allahu akbar, 10 times after every Salat, 20
times after every Salat, the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam says two words on the
tongue, very heavy on the scale, Allah loves
him so much, subhanallah wa alhamdulillah, subhanallah al
azeem and make sure that you sit in
a quiet zone, just contemplate the beautiful words,
you'd rather say 10 subhanallah that you focus
on them, contemplate them, understand them and purify
your heart with them because these words are
like a detergent that's cleaning this heart, cleaning
this heart, so focus when you say them,
mean them, understand them and then you start
realizing that your heart is getting clean and
pure, so subhanallah the month of Ramadan is
a great opportunity for you to put yourself
that program and inshallah this year's Ramadan is
going to be a unique Ramadan and we're
going to be with you online every single
night of the month of Ramadan, every night
7.30pm Sydney time on EMA social media
platforms, we'll be giving different talks and inshallah
the sisterhood lessons every Saturday in the month
of Ramadan 1.30pm we'll continue with them
and inshallah this coming Monday after tomorrow 7
.30pm we have the open Islamic panel where
there's going to be myself, Sheikh Rami and
brother Omar inshallah we're going to be talking
about how can we make the most out
of this year's Ramadan, alhamdulillah programs every single
day, programs are online so nothing is going
to disconnect us from one another, anything that
we are disconnected from is from the masjid
physically not spiritually because we're going to establish
the masjid in our homes inshallah the spiritual
uplifting feeling and the sentiment that we get
out of the masjid, we're going to feel
them at home and inshallah we're going to
get through this together, come out of it
together and inshallah we're going to be strong
during this crisis and after this crisis until
we become closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala, may Allah azza wa jalla reward you
all for being with us, may Allah accept
from you, may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
give us strength, may Allah azza wa jalla
grant us perseverance and may Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala safeguard us all, protect us all,
protect you and your family, ameen
