-Thalatha, The Three Fundamental Principles, with our honourable
Sheikh, Sheikh Salim al-Amri.
I will, inshallah, pass the mic and the
screen to the Sheikh, so the Sheikh can

is Al-Rasul Al-Thalatha The Three Fundamentals
by the Sheikh Al-Imam Mujaddid Muhammad bin
Abdul Wahab rahimna Allah ta'ala And we
reach where he is saying wa dalilu s
-salati wa z-zaka wa tafsiru al-tawhid
qawluhu ta'ala wa ma umiru illa liya
'budu Allah mukhlusina lahu al-deen hunafa wa
yuqeemu s-salati wa yuqeemu al-zaka wa
dhalika deena al-qayyimah So, as you know,
the Sheikh, rahimna Allah ta'ala for every
issue he addresses, he mentions the evidence and
the proof for that which supports what he
quoted and what he mentioned So the proof
for prayer wa dalilu s-salat because a
Muslim should not worship Allah azza wa jal
without basira, without ilm, without knowledge So our
deen is based on the ilm based on
yaqeen, certainty not conjecture or guessing So every
act of worship you do it is based
on concrete and refutable evidence We don't follow
anyone or worship Allah azza wa jal blindly
without any evidence from the revelation either in
the Quran or in the Sunnah This is
how the Muslim is taught and instructed by
his Creator subhanahu wa ta'ala Allah has
taught us to worship him ala basira and
not to accept anything without proof Reduce the
evidence that we are telling the truth Reduce
it, let's have a look at it because
the deen is what Allah said what the
Prophet said That's the deen So our deen,
deen al-Islam is based on the revelation
of the Quran and the authentic Sunnah So
wa dalilu s-salat so the evidence and
the proof for the salah, for the prayer
and to be more precise prayer is not
the salah It's okay, but what to do?
This is the English language English language is
so deficient Prayer, the equivalent word for it
in Arabic is dua, the dua That's why
you say he said his prayers that means
that dua So the salah, the evidence of
the salah Muslims should get used to use
these terminologies Islamic terminologies of salah because
the word of salah has vast and great
and vast shade of meaning of salah It
has linguistic meaning It has technical definition and
lexical definition of salah So linguistically, according to
the definition in the lexicon, the dictionary it
is prayer, it is dua When it is
in the fiqh context technical context, definition they
say certain specified and specific a'mal, a'taal makhsoosa
begins with the takbeer So specific actions commences
and begins and starts with the takbeer and
ends with the and concluded with the salah
So specific actions, specific actions the bowing, the
standing, the prostrating prostration So there are different
acts in the salah So it begins with
the takbeer If you start the salah without
takbeer your salah is invalid and if you
come out of the salah without salam salah
is invalid So you begin it and you
start the salah with the takbeer and you
conclude and you come out of it with
the taslim and in between there are certain
acts and actions to be done and to
be executed to be performed So that's the
definition of salah in the fiqh context or
sharia context Linguistically, it can be, it means
prayer, dua and they said it is derived
from the root, salah salah, salah yasli which
means if you have a stick
which is wet you just cut that from
the tree it is wet and you want
to make it strong so you put it
on the fire you toast it on the
fire you heat it on the fire so
the water evaporates and the stick will become
so solid So that process
of strengthening the stick is salim and
the beauty of Arabic that there is always
a link between the linguistic meaning and the
technical meaning So now if we know that
linguistically it is something, it is a process
of strengthening and at the same time it
is a process of getting rid of the
things getting rid of the things unwanted I
don't want the water inside the stick so
I heat it so the water evaporates and
that's what the salah does the salah heats
you removes your impurities washes away your sins
and gives you strength and you become so
solid like that stick so the salah it
is a process of purifying the soul removing
the sins cleansing the sins at the same
time it gives you strength it strengthens your
heart strengthens your heart and no wonder the
prophet when he gave the parable of the
salah it's just like a river at the
doorsteps of one of you and he dips
himself in that river five times a day
will there be any dirt remain?
no the water what does the water do
to the dirt it will wash it away
so the salah it will wash away your
sins wash away your sins so when you
know Arabic you see the meaning the the
performing meanings of the of the words so
the evidence of the salah and of course
as you know it is one of the
pillars of Islam the one who doesn't pray
he is not a Muslim so
the covenant between us and them and dividing
line between Islam and apostasy is the salah
whoever leaves the salah he has blasphemed disbelieved
and the sahaba unanimously they consider the one
who doesn't pray as a kafir the evidence
of the salah and the last words of
the prophet was actually take care of your
prayers and also take care of those your
right hands so that's the salah and you
should not treat the salah lightly no because
the angels rebuke and reprimand those who are
thrown to the hellfire the angels the gods
of * they ask them what brought you
to * because we were not paid that's
why you are in the hellfire we were
not paid Allah said woe
to them Ibn Abbas said and woe is
a valley in the hellfire for those who
do not pray those who do delay their
prayers woe to them extreme punishment for them
those who delay their prayers how about those
who do not pray at all at all
so if a couple husband doesn't pray his
wife should tell him pray or this is
the end of it I cannot live with
a man who doesn't pray wife doesn't pray
you have to start praying or this is
the end of it I will not live
with someone who doesn't pray the same thing
your children the prophet said command your children
to pray when they reach the age of
7 so you discipline the children so you
command your child boy or girl to start
praying at the age of 7 they reach
10 they don't pray discipline them smack them
so if a child starts praying from the
age of 7 up to 15 the age
of puberty inshallah by Allah's grace he will
not leave the salah zakah also is another
pillar of Islam and you know zakah from
zakah yazkum which means to increase so the
zakah the money you give out this brings
barakah blessing in your wealth and increases it
and one of the pillars of Islam I'm
saying Abu Bakr as you know he fought
those who refused to give the zakah he
said by Allah I will fight whoever differentiates
between the salah and the zakah the
explanation of the tawheed is all mentioned in
this beautiful ayah ayah number 5 of surah
al bayyinah and
they were not commanded except that they should
worship Allah making the religion making the religion
the salah solely for him alone that they
should perform the prayer and give zakah that
is the right religion so you maintain your
prayers give the zakah and establish the prayer
which means what does it mean the word
sama sama means to refrain from something from
doing something that's the meaning of it to
refrain not to do something Mary the mother
of Isa she said today
I have vowed I have vowed for the
merciful I have vowed to make siyam so
what is this siyam is it the siyam
that eating and drinking no I have vowed
to the merciful so
I will not talk to any human being
today so what she decided she decided to
refrain from talking to anyone talking refraining from
talking that was the siyam so to refrain
from talking that was siyam because she decided
not to talk to anyone so that is
the meaning of siyam in the language as
always there is very close connection and relationship
between the linguistic meaning and the technical meaning
also the Arabs they say as an
nabighah as the dubyani said and the nabighah
is one of the the poets before Islam
one of the great poets before Islam and
without knowing the Arabic poetry you will not
know the Arabic language because if you want
to know the Arabic language go to the
Arabic the poetry of the Arabs poetry of
the Arabs and if you want to understand
the Quran you should know the poetry of
the Arabs the one who wrote compiled
they asked him Sheikh what are you reading
nowadays he said I am reading the book
which contains the poems of Omar Ibn Rabia
is one of the poets to understand the
speech of my lord Allah Akbar yeah I
am reading the poetry to understand the speech
of my lord the speech of my lord
is in Arabic so if I don't know
the Arabic tongue I will not understand the
speech of my lord the Quran so when
you are reading in his Tafsir you will
see many poetic verses the same thing if
you are reading in the Tafsir of Imam
Qutubi or other books of Tafsir because things
are linked to the tongue to the language
itself so a Nabiha said khaylun siyamun I
hope that you are taking notes khaylun siyamun
wa khaylun ghayru sa'imatin tahda al ajaj
wa khaylun ta'likul lujuma khaylun siyamun we'll
go explain each word khaylun siyam khay means
horses Hoses that are Siyam.
What does it mean here?
Hoses that are fasting?
If you want to translate literally so in
English now they say what?
Hoses fasting?
Say they are the hoses some of them
are Siyam and some they are not under
the dust so these hoses there is a
dust storm and they are standing and some
are Siyam and some are chewing the bridles
chewing the iron bit of the bridle so
what does it mean?
So some hoses are chewing and moving their
mouths and chewing that iron bit try to
bite it whereas the others even that they
are not moving their mouths so they are
abstaining from chewing okay so the word Siyam
is to abstain from something that's why you
read in the books they define Siyam is
total complete abstinence and abstaining and leaving the
eating and drinking and sexual desire from dawn
till sunset that's what you will come across
in the books of fiqh anyway so the
evidence and I do this intentionally I give
you this okay I digress a bit here
to encourage you to learn Arabic
so the evidence of the Siyam is Allah
saying in surah al-baqarah ayah 183 Arabic
so al-baqarah ayah 183 so here Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala this is the proof
of the Siyam Arabic fasting is prescribed for
you as it was prescribed for those before
you in order that you may acquire taqwa
piety righteousness so this is the the wisdom
and Allah's acts Arabic okay
all the divine acts there is a wisdom
or there is a wisdom behind every single
act of Allah so what is the illa
what was the code was the wisdom but
sometimes the hikmah the hikmah the wisdom behind
the prescription or the imposition of such teaching
is known and sometimes it's not and sometimes
it needs deep reflection and pondering to arrive
at it so Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is saying Arabic and here we need to
pay attention because Allah is not addressing anyone
he's not saying Arabic he's saying Arabic he's
addressing mankind but now he has singled you
out Arabic so he's addressing the believers why
because there are instructions going to come teachings
are going to to be mentioned and naturally
only the one who believes and the giver
of such instructions will implement them and carry
them out so naturally he addresses the believers
those who believe in him so now he's
going to ask them to do things so
they will respond because they believe so that's
why the others they said whenever you hear
Arabic this statement your ear
lend your ear to this call listen attentively
because Allah is going to mention something either
he will command or he will warn or
he will mention the reward of the doers
of righteous deeds or he will mention the
punishment of the sinner so something is going
to be told so pay attention to that
yeah okay so now we should be all
ears or you believe yes our Lord what
do you want we are all ears so
now he is informing us he is telling
us Arabic this Siyam has been written and
remember if you recall and refer to your
notes Arabic here means imposed
prescribed made mandatory and obligatory that's the meaning
of Arabic and the subject is not mentioned
this is in the passive form why to
glorify the one who has imposed such instruction
on such command so you don't mention the
subject so you put it in the passive
form rather than the active form Arabic so
it is prescribed imposed made mandatory and obligatory
so it is prescribed upon you believers I
am addressing I am talking to it is
mandatory obligatory Arabic so Siyam fasting has been
made obligatory prescribed upon you and for you
Arabic you are not unique you are not
the only ones who fast no this ritual
Arabic this action of fasting this active worship
of fasting has been prescribed also on the
previous nations who preceded you Arabic as it
was prescribed for the nations before you those
who came before you Arabic those who came
before you those who preceded you then see
this is the beauty of the Quran so
he is enjoining commanding imposing addressing and
then he gives you the reason he tells
you why I have imposed and prescribed fasting
why is it to punish you what I'm
going to leave out of that I don't
like punishing my servants I don't love hurting
them or burgeoning them no all what I
ask them it's for their own happiness for
their own benefit Arabic perhaps
you will achieve the taqwa by practicing this
active worship your piety will be built up
your taqwa will increase and when your taqwa
increase your piety increases you will put a
barrier between my anger and between you and
my anger and wrath so you ward off
my anger by the taqwa so by this
doing good deeds you are safeguarding yourself from
Allah's anger Arabic to
keep something between you and Allah something that
protects you from Allah's anger ward off Allah's
anger that's the good deeds see this is
the wisdom that's why you have to fast
Allah is not in need of our fast
who leaves the benefit we leave that benefit
so the objective and the goal of the
siyam is taqwa Allah to free Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala and when you see Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala you will stay away
from what makes him angry or triggers his
anger so you avoid Allah's wrath so
if your siyam doesn't bring about doesn't reduce
this fruit then it is not the required
siyam and the siyam will not be accepted
not be accepted if you just refrain from
eating and abstaining from eating and drinking from
dawn till sunset and you backbite and you
slander and you wish the haram and you
listen to the haram so you are not
fasting remember fasting to abstain like the hoses
that are abstaining from chewing the iron bits
like mariam said i abstain from talking to
any human being so you have to abstain
from sinning and doing haram many muslims coming
monday alifah they fast and many that have
this mentality oh the fasting of arabah washes
away expiates the sin that's been committed for
two years current year and the previous one
that's how they calculate it so let us
fast this day on the eid we'll go
back to square one and enjoy ourselves under
the haram oh you are dealing with allah
who knows everything who knows your heart and
he's always watching your heart and looking into
your heart looking for the sincerity and the
ikhlas so when you fast the day of
arafah repent sincerely not that you are fasting
arafah and you are planning the activities of
the eid and the haram stuff you're committing
eid oh oh my sins are washed away
i say two years i i clean now
don't be fooled don't be fooled you're fooling
yourself only that's why the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam said perhaps
an observer of fast he or she gets
nothing out of it there's nothing for him
to do except your hunger first that was
the only thing you get of this fast
the fake it's not genuine fake fake fast
the rest of the limbs did not fast
did not abstain from the haram so you
not get anything except hunger and thirst another
one one who's praying tahajjud praying taraweeh but
not sincerely was showing off he will get
nothing out of that wa rabba qa'imin
laysa lahum min qiyamihi illa sahar wa ta3ab
perhaps qa'im one who is praying standing
praying nafil prayers tahajjud taraweeh he gets or
she gets nothing out of that except sahar
sleeplessness and fatigueness and tiredness so the objective
and the aim and the goal of fasting
is the taqwa that's why the ulama they
say the sign that allah accepted your fast
for Ramadan that after Ramadan you become a
better Muslim than before Ramadan so when you
are in shawwal you are better when you
were in shawwal and
the hajj is to visit a place and
here visiting the the sacred mosque makkah so
that's the meaning of the hajj wa
man kafara fa inna allaha ghaniyun alhamdulil aali
imran ayah 97 as
you know when ibrahim alayhi salam and ismail
they finished the building and constructing the kaaba
allah told ibrahim to climb on the safa
and to shout calling the people to come
to visit the house of allah naturally
the voice of ibrahim will not reach all
the corners of the earth allah told him
just do that he will make this call
to be heard to be heard and he
did and the people till the end of
the world are flocking and blushing to this
house and the moment you leave this house
you start yearning and longing to come back
to come back to it because ibrahim alayhi
salam he prayed when he left his as
you know he left his wife hajj and
her son is mine so he prayed that
to send a group of people yearning to
such a place and provide oh allah for
them from all types of food so go
to mecca and you see subhanallah is a
barren place but this is the barakah of
the dawah of ibrahim alayhi salam and you'll
find all types of food coming from all
parts of the world and
of course here remember in one of the
talks when we talked this is that
means here the hajj is obligatory upon the
muslim to come to mecca not the christian
not the jew not the xeroxian not the
the hindu not the anyone the muslim so
and now it's not all part of them
the believers so this is general text apparently
it is in the the text is general
but the meaning is specific okay so
when you are that's why you need to
study usul al fiqh you study usul al
fiqh to understand this issue okay
so the the meaning the and the hajj
the pilgrimage to the house kaba is a
duty that mankind owes to allah for those
who are able to do it so the
mankind here the believers and whoever disbelieves by
denying hajj then indeed allah is not in
need of any of his creation so this
is allah ended it with a threat so
it is obligatory upon every muslim adult male
or female to visit the house of allah
which is mecca and bakka it is called
mecca and called bakka and the difference the
ulema said between mecca why it is called
mecca and why it is called bakka it's
called mecca from the word the root mecca
al-fasilu eleven mecca means to drain makka
al-fasil the fasil is the the camel
the small camel the baby makka al-fasilu
so when the small camel sucks the udder
of its mother and empty it from the
milk so that is the mak that's the
meaning of makka so this valley is called
makka because it absorbs the water it doesn't
hold the water it rains the water is
absorbed quickly and it becomes dry you don't
find water in it makka in the same
way the little camel sucks the the the
milk from the udder of its mother until
he doesn't leave any drop inside so makka
does the same thing no water in it
no water that's why when
the tribe of jurhum they saw the birds
in in makka they got surprised and they
looked at each other there are birds do
you see the fleet of birds in the
sky so when you see the little birds
in the sky hoovering that means there is
water in that space but we know they
say we know makka there's no water in
it so it was something very strange so
when they came they found water and this
poor lady our mother had her alias on
and her baby ismail so they sought her
permission would you mind if we settle in
this place she said in one condition the
water is mine they said yes it is
yours and ibrahim alaihissalaam he grew up in
that tribe and that's how he spoke arabic
he talked arabic because ismail and his father
ibrahim who left yemen a long time ago
and settled in iraq and over time the
arabic tongue was forgotten now he is back
ismail he grew up in this yemenite tribe
jurhum and he spoke arabic and he married
from the same time okay so that's why
it's called makka what is it called also
bakka bakka bakka from the root bakka bakka
to break the neck of someone so they
say makka breaks the necks the necks of
the transgressors anyone tries to make mischief or
commit mischief or corruption in makka he will
be destroyed his neck will be broken when
the the king of the of yemen abraha
al-ashram the abyssinians abraha the one who
has a slit his lip is cut when
he came with the army you know what
happened to him all his battalion was destroyed
when allah sent the birds throwing them with
bait to stone throughout history anyone when the
the qaramita is a faction of the they
attacked the haram and they killed the pilgrims
pilgrims and they have and they threw the
the bodies into the well of bed of
damsel and they stole the black stone and
they ran with the black stone to the
eastern prophets to saudi arabia today what happened
to them curse fell on them and the
saudi people died and they have all trouble
till they told them this curse will not
stop until you take back the black stone
to makkah and they returned it and that's
why when you look to the black stone
you see this frame around it why there
is a frame because it got broken broken
so bakka breaks the neck of anyone who
tries to spread any corruption in makkah so
the hajj so visiting the
house of allah this kaaba which is on
earth and was there even before adam in
the the first house that was put for
mankind it was put even for adam so
who constructed it who built it allah knows
some of the scholars say the angels how
about ibrahim alaihissalam was he the first one
because the quran made it clear that the
first house that was built that was made
for mankind is the one in bakka so
what did ibrahim alaihissalam do the house got
destroyed so now they are reconstructing and raising
raising the foundations again and you know raising
is the third dimension any 3d object you
have width length and height so they are
raising the third dimension that means the two
dimensions are there the width and the length
that's why he said oh
allah i have left my family my wife
my son in a barren valley that has
no vegetation next to your house to the
ruins the place where the house was built
then they were commanded by allah to reconstruct
it and to rebuild it so
it is obligatory it is mandatory to come
to the house of allah once in your
lifetime that is what is fun anything else
is nothing it is recommended that if you
can't afford to visit the house of allah
the hajj to renew the hajj every five
years recommended if you can if you cannot
you already fulfilled your obligations and that is
by doing the hajj once in your lifetime
so it is obligatory upon every muslim
adult after reaching the age of puberty man
or a woman those who are able to
do so who are capable to do that
able to do it so what is this
those who are able the scholars they say
you are healthy you are not sick if
you are sick you are exempted especially if
it is a terminal illness which means an
illness that is will remain there and there
is no clue for it then in this
case someone will perform the hajj on his
behalf or her behalf like when the woman
she said oh prophet of allah my father
is so feeble so weak so old he
cannot hold himself on the mount on the
camel can i perform the hajj on his
behalf he said yes if you perform the
hajj first for yourself to perform hajj for
yourself then you perform the hajj on behalf
of somebody else so if someone his parents
are very old then he can perform the
hajj on their behalf if they cannot manage
to walk and do the rituals so that
is one condition second condition financial he can
afford paying the expenses and the third condition
that the route is safe maybe you are
healthy you are well off mashallah healthy everything
but the road the route the way to
Mecca is risky see in the past people
they come by ships or on camel and
many times those ships are attacked by the
pirates non-muslims and many of the pilgrims
are killed or their money is taken and
their whatever they have is confiscated not confiscated
so the route was not safe and many
of those who are travel on land the
same thing and subhanallah what made shaykh uh
imam al-fudail to repent al-fudail was
one of those highway robbers he
was
a highway robber robbing the the pilgrims and
the night fell on two pilgrims so they
sold shelter in a ruin old building and
the same thing al-fudail happened to be
there so there was a wall separating the
two pilgrims and al-fudail so al-fudail
heard the two pilgrims pilgrims praying to allah
oh allah save us from al-fudail and
he started to cry and he repented and
he became an imam before they came yes
he became imam harun al-rashid rahimahullah when
he came to the hajj in the days
of mina he felt something in his heart
hardness in his heart so he wanted someone
to talk to him to soften his heart
so they brought all those scholars in the
hajj each one to give him a reminder
still he said i can feel it the
hardness is there in my heart is there
anyone whose words will soften this hard heart
anyone they said there is one but he
will not come to you there
is one but he will not come to
you al-fudail said i will go to
him so they took harun al-rashid the
khalifa to him they knocked the door he
replied who is it they say answer al
-khalifa he said i don't want to see
the khalifa i don't need him they told
him the khalifa is at your door please
open he was sitting on the roof of
his house so he came down or
he asked some of his family to open
the door and he put the lantern the
light off so it was totally dark and
he is now sitting there and the khalifa
is climbing the ladder in the dark and
when he reached there their hands met they
shook hands in the dark and al-fudail
said only a few words what
a hand if it is saved tomorrow from
allah's punishment just these few words tore the
heart of a khalifa and he fell down
crying weeping because what comes from the heart
reaches the heart the khalifa wanted to reward
him he said i'm sorry for i go
i don't need anything and he did not
accept anything from the khalifa when they left
the house they also tried again he told
them go even his family they told him
why you know our situation you know our
situation we are poor and the khalifa is
trying to help us he told them okay
at the end of my life now you
want me to open my hand okay you
want to use me okay like a beast
like an animal when you when i was
young i was toiling for you and now
i cannot work so you want to slaughter
me and eat me i will not do
that so so
the conditions that you are wealthy you have
you are able financially the road is safe
you're not sick you own the means of
transport or the fare for that and for
a woman she has to have a mahram
if she doesn't have a mahram then she
is exempted from doing the hajj and she
will not be held responsible or accountable before
allah azza wa jalla may allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala increase our knowledge the deen may
allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make us remain
in this beautiful deen till we meet allah
and he is pleased with all of us
ameen may allah forgive us our faults and
mistakes and ignorance ameen ameen all of you
my dear brothers and sisters for your patience
and attendance shaykh
brothers and sisters we will start the question
and answers time now if you have questions
please send them in you can ask them
also directly by raising your hand as usual
we have received some questions already and inshallah
we will start with those okay the first
question salam alaikum shaykh i heard that salah
is also from wasalah to connect hence it
is connection with allah is this correct it
can be yes because it is a means
of connecting to allah azza wa jal so
it connects you spiritually when you stand before
allah azza wa jal you are connected with
your creator and subhanallah the salah is they
say you know the mirage what is the
mirage mirage which means ascension and actually the
mirage it is the the name of the
tool the instrument that the prophet sallallahu alaihi
was taken upon to heavens he was taken
to jerusalem by the barak and then the
mirage which is ascension and also means to
ascend the beautiful words and speech ascends to
him so they say it
is your mirage it is the means that
will take you up to your lord so
do not sever that rope and that connection
with your lord next okay
next question one of your beautiful lectures you
mentioned the six good people that most sahih
hadith comes through them what can you tell
us about their holiness and their importance rule
in this beautiful deen of al-islam again
again the question the question in one of
your beautiful lectures you mentioned the six good
people that most sahih hadith comes through yeah
what can you tell us about their holiness
and their importance in this beautiful deen of
course you see the the scholars of hadith
that's why they they are chosen by allah
we can't say nothing more than that those
are chosen by allah to protect the sunnah
of the prophet that's why when you see
the muhaddithin you see someone as the prophet
said that their faces are shining like the
moon like the moon because they are always
in the salah upon the prophet when they
are reading his hadith they are trustworthy they
do not lie they
practice they are always with this prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam imam abdullah ibn mubarak they
said the moment he finishes the salah he
would not be lingering around and hanging around
with the those people in the masjid he
would pray and leave immediately and go to
his house so when they asked him don't
you feel alone he said how can i
feel alone when i am when i am
with the prophet and his companions he means
the habib okay they spend their lifetime working
hardly sleeping at night revising the manuscripts and
writing when you read about the scholars of
hadith and the students of students of hadith
it's something they say if you see someone
running in the seats either one of the
two either he is mad man the insane
mad people they are running or students of
hadith students of hadith are running they finish
this circle in this masjid and now another
muhaddith is going to start so they are
running to catch the next circle they covered
hundreds and hundreds of miles traveling on foot
no mounds no animals to ride carrying their
own books and and sessionals on their backs
one of them said i have drunk my
urine many times many times i have drunk
my urine because of thirst imam
ibrahim he was traveling with also his brothers
students of hadith and they came to a
bank of a river and they decided to
relax so h1 opened his bag and to
bring out his food what was his food
dry bread very hard to chew it so
they were dipping it that was the soup
for them dipping and softening the dry bread
in the river and eating it and after
that they had few they took handfuls of
water and they relaxed and imam ibrahim rahim
allah said we
are in great
blessing bounty happiness had the children the
sons of the kings knew about it what
we feel the happiness the rightfulness the rightfulness
the sweetness had they knew about this they
would have fought us to have it by
their swords i said to myself subhanallah dry
bread water but what's what is the
the happiness they had where is this happiness
coming from happiness coming from inside from the
iman they had allah filled their hearts with
the iman so they know they are in
the jihad to protect and preserve the sunnah
of the prophet so allah chose them allah
chose those the scholars i'm and
the others allah chose them allah chose them
when during the reign of harun rashid they
were fabricators the forgers those who forge a
hadith fabricated and attributed to the prophet like
nooh bin abu mariam nooh is one of
those fabricators he took all the quran and
he fabricated for each ayah or surah a
hadith so when he was caught and he
was asked why did you do that he
said i found the people more inclined they're
like most and they and they study more
the fiqh of abu hanifa and they left
the quran so i wanted them to focus
on the quran that was his intention but
he lied against the prophet did that intention
was it an excuse for him no he
was killed executed another fabricator when he was
sentenced to death he was giving death sentence
he said wait wait to the khalifa until
i mentioned to you the hadith that i
i fabricated the experts
the experts they know they sift the hadith
and they know kill him we have we
have we have we have tower towering figures
they know the hadith of the prophet that's
why there is no nation on this globe
has that heritage except us the scholars of
hadith they wrote massive works encyclopedias the
fabricators you want to know the fabricators go
to this encyclopedia and pick the volume alphabetical
so and so is a fabricator liar the
weak narrators and those who were authentic then
their memory became weak another category may allah
elevate their status and may allah shower his
mercy on their souls and may allah raise
us and their gathering and their company so
those were the defenders of the deen they
protected the deen of al-islam the sunnah
of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam that's
why we are talking so confidently the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said this and we
are so confident why because we have concrete
system through which we verify the authenticity
of the narration no nation in the first
of the earth has that may allah reward
all the scholars of hadith ameen has raised
their status and jannat al-na'im in
the company of their beloved prophet muhammad sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam i hope this is clear
to the questioner that is clear we go
to the next question is it shift to
leave an act of worship because of waswas
for example if a muslim does not supplicate
to allah in sujood because the person fears
that they may end up entertaining bad thoughts
as a result they may end up not
completing the prayer on time and lose the
reward for not attaining for sure is it
shift to leave an act of worship because
of waswas it could be to leave the
ibadah because shaitan is whispering to you do
the ibadah and ask allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala to accept it and ask allah to
help you and do not give a chance
to the cursed one to play with you
okay shaitan tells you this do the opposite
as imam ghazali rahim allah ta'ala shaitan
comes to you and tells you you are
prolonging your salah so people watch you he
said make it longer imam ghazali rahim allah
make the salah longer so he will not
come again to you and tell you you're
prolonging your salah because someone is watching you
shaitan says something do the opposite and the
ulama they say if you do the ibadah
and after that shaitan comes and whispers and
said you didn't do it for the sake
of allah don't pay any attention to that
he's only trying to make you feel bad
after doing the ibadah don't pay any attention
don't listen just ignore he comes to you
in the ibadah you are in jihad ask
allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to save you
say he leaves you and make your dua
okay and the moment any evil thought crosses
your mind seek allah's protection it will go
and by time all these thoughts will disappear
is this clear to the questioner may allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala save you from all
these satanic thoughts shall i it is clear
sheikh we go to the next question is
it permissible to get school supplies from an
organization that claims to be faith-based i
.e christianity no we don't seek take help
from them because it's not to help you
this is something and then there are strings
behind they are expecting something from you the
upper hand is better than the lower hand
so muslims should help each other don't accept
the this help which comes from such uh
machinery uh organizations now my next question uh
dear sheikh jazakallah khair what about if somebody
has started these 10 days of fasting and
at the same time he or she traveling
part of these days shall it be stopped
or continue i ask for a bit more
clarification on the later latter part of this
question but no answer what is the the
latter part what it says what does it
uh okay so if they are traveling traveling
now i'm traveling traveling okay should they stop
or continue okay no they can if they
uh if they uh if they don't feel
tired they can they can fast because the
pastor used to fast nothing fast optional fast
while traveling so he fasted while traveling and
the sahaba fasted and some they were not
fasting and the sahabi said neither those who
are fasting would blame those who are not
fasting and vice versa yes the prophet once
he one of the sahaba fainted fainted fainted
because of tiredness so that's why he said
it's not from it's not from the the
or it's not a good act to fast
while traveling it has to be understood in
that context if this fasting weakens you and
it is nothing then you don't fast break
your fast in another hadith in one journey
the was the prophet only the one who
was fasting in another hadith also the sahaba
started collapsing because of fart and it was
just almost towards the before the sunset so
when the news reached the prophet and he
was fasting and they told him the people
are watching you and it is very difficult
for them because you are fasting so they
are fasting so he said give me water
and he drank in front of all of
them to show them ask them to break
the fast though just it was towards the
end some they continued and when the news
reached the prophet about some they completed their
fast said they are sinners they were he
said they are sinners i commanded them to
break the fast why they continued they thought
the prophet broke his fast for those who
are collapsing we can manage so we can
continue this here that's what they thought but
the prophet told no those are sinners they
disobeyed me so if you are traveling and
you are relaxed and you don't feel thirsty
or hungry and fasting is not affecting you
yes you can continue fasting there's no harm
inshallah except if you are in the height
if you are in the height you don't
fast you continue the uh you concentrate on
the doing the rituals because you need to
be uh strong is this clear to the
questioner inshallah that is clear sheikh next question
is it permissible for a woman who is
on her menses to do wudu?
the wudu is not uh is for the
salah wudu is for the salah but if
she is let's say he's she's taking a
shower and she wanted to follow the sunnah
so she'll be from wudu there's no harm
there's no harm but of course the wudu
is only for the salah the wudu is
only for the for the salah but a
woman in her menses she can do everything
except the salah she can read the quran
tahleel these are the days for tasbih and
tahleel and takbir and she can do all
these things all the righteous deeds inshallah next
next question what are the symptoms of evil
eye on a person's house could having ants
in the house be a symptom of evil
eye if so what do you recommend i
don't know the symptoms of the evil eye
on the house but what we know from
the sunnah of the prophet that if you
read surah al-baqarah the shayateen they run
away and if you feel something has happened
or someone visited you so if you suspect
anyone then you approach that person and ask
him to perform wudu and you collect the
water and the utensil and if that person
you feel that his evil eye affected a
child also a human being then you pour
the water on that person or you can
take this water if you feel something happen
in your home and splash it over in
places where this person sat or when this
person came that's what the the the salaf
mentioned in their books next next question sheikh
what could be the danger of worshiping allah
with little or no knowledge what level of
knowledge does one need to have for the
better of his or her deen the the
knowledge there are different levels there are minimum
requirement which is every muslim should have it
you should know how to pray you should
know how to fart you should you should
know about the pillars of islam you should
know about the pillars of iman okay you
should know about the issues that are halal
and haram and you should know about the
tahara okay for a woman she should know
how to what are the how to become
clean and the ruling of the menses and
stuff like that issues of women so there
are minimum requirements that every muslim should have
if you don't have this minimum requirement and
you don't know for example yeah you don't
know the rulings of the salah the ahkam
of the salah the pillars of the salah
or the the sunan of the salah and
they are missing sometimes pillars in the salah
which makes your salah uh invalid so then
you don't have the minimum requirement but if
you have the minimum requirement anything more than
that it is recommended it is recommended and
that's why we need to know our basics
the basics of al-islam and i recommend
that every household should have small library okay
books and tafsir in sirah hadith fiqh okay
so the family anyone can uh refer to
that library and read and understand his deen
so you have these references around you so
every household should have a small library okay
so call now for books addressing issues of
women okay so your daughter will not come
to you she will just go pick up
the book read and she gets the answer
okay because if you worship allah without knowing
it's just like you are disobeying him disobeying
him that's why the ulama they said the
likeness of our scholars who are wicked muslim
scholars wicked they're not practicing what they preach
they said they are like the rabbis they
have knowledge but they are not role models
and the worshippers and the worshippers among the
muslims those who worship allah but they don't
have they don't have knowledge they are just
like the the monks they are they they
worship all the time but not in the
right way okay so muslim should learn his
deen and that's why the prophet said whomever
allah wishes him good he gives him the
understanding the knowledge of knowing his deed may
allah increase our knowledge in the deen amin
is this clear to the questioner that is
clear sheikh next question a young person who
has not prayed for two years how can
they begin to pay this back without becoming
overwhelmed with the immensity of this task well
here there are two famous opinions among muslim
scholars one opinion says that you have to
make up those prayers you missed so that
means you pray the fard twice so you
pray now your fard and then again you
the one you pray it again as compensation
but this opinion is weak the strongest opinion
is sincere tauba you repent sincerely try to
compensate try to pray nothing prayers as much
as you can but no need for you
to keep paying all the prayers that you
missed for example some muslim they repented only
just before one year before their death for
two years and now he's in his 60s
how come difficult but if he repents or
she repents sincerely and allah accept his tauba
or her tauba then he should just try
to pray nothing optional prayers as much as
he can and allah knows best i hope
this is clear to the questioner so just
repent and come back to allah and start
praying and don't miss your prayers the next
question shah can you please explain the ruling
on where one should perform their udhiyah people
say because the uk do not have needy
people it is better to perform the udhiyah
in a country where people are of more
need of it i.e like their home
country of course the sunnah that you slaughter
your udhiyah where you are and you eat
from it and you divide it into three
lots one for you one third for you
one third for your relatives and one third
for the poor but if you feel that
no one is in need okay and you
want to slaughter it in the place where
they are in people are in need that
is also there the provision is there it
is permissible what is the best the best
that you slaughter it where you are and
you eat from it that is the because
it is the ritual this is a ibadah
this is ibadah it's okay you go to
the slaughterhouse or the abattoir and you slaughter
the animal and then because you know the
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam what he
did he slaughtered his own uh so that
is the best but if you send it
to someone who is in need and you
appointed someone to slaughter it on your behalf
that's also permissible and allah knows best is
this clear to the questioner yes that is
clear sheikh next question can we distribute this
meat to non-muslims yeah okay next question
the ruling of odhia is to give one
sacrifice per family if one sacrifices more shares
just so poor people are not deprived of
meat as this is a time when poor
people benefit the most is their sacrifice valid
or have any consequences if they do more
than the the requirements basically would you mind
repeating the question no no problem the ruling
of odhia is to give one sacrifice per
family if one sacrifices more shares just so
poor sacrifices what more more more than they
should they require that minimum so they uh
for example one sheep for the whole family
so he's sacrificing one cow for example yes
one cow or he goes for two sheeps
for example anything more no problem it's okay
it's okay all right next question when reciting
the takbir tahleel and tahmid is it permissible
to add and send prayers to the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam see there are many
adhkar for the takbir so there are many
forms so stick to what is reported think
what is reported and follow the sunnah of
the prophet next the next question somebody's
put a request that maybe in the future
we can study the science of hadith with
you if we remain alive inshallah the next
question inshallah is it permissible to work for
international organizations that help migrants and that might
have hidden agendas the answer yes we can
we can cooperate in certain extent like with
the red cross for example if there is
a catastrophe something happened and they are there
on the land and always they will be
there and we know of course they have
their own agenda but if there is a
need a necessity and they facilitate and you
need their help then you can cooperate so
cooperating with the kuffar if there is a
good for the community for the common good
it is permissible and the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam as you know in the when
the sahaba came to mecca to perform umrah
and the mushriks stopped them and then the
negotiations took over and they arrived finally that
muslims should go this year back to medina
and come the next year the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam there he said anything today
the mushriks ask me okay which will lead
to the sanctification and the glorification of allah's
symbols i will give it to them he
commented on this and he said and this
is an explicit evidence to cooperate with the
kuffar regarding the common good for example if
a group of the non-muslims but they
are conservative they are against homosexuality and they
are writing petition and they ask the muslims
to support them to vote and to stand
by them yes muslim by all means do
not hesitate because this is a cooperation regarding
something which is good against abomination against vices
so cooperating with the non-muslims okay can
be done if there is a necessity and
if there is a benefit and there is
a need i hope this is clear and
this needs fiqh and understanding and that's why
you need to refer to the scholars in
your area who can guide you the same
thing for example in the election you have
two parties or both of them are not
muslims but one party is not conservative is
there for all these abominations for all these
evils for all immorality for everything so if
they become the ruling party they will enact
laws and policies which will affect all including
the muslim and there's a party who's conservative
okay and they're against all these things so
if they came to power they will not
allow that to happen so now you have
two evils but which one is the lesser
one and you choose the lesser one you
choose the lesser one and this is an
issue only the scholars can decide you have
two evils and you have to choose one
of them naturally the one which is less
than the other i will not vote for
any one of them this shows your ignorance
of this system how it works if you
say i will not vote for anyone it
is just like you voted for the one
who is going the one who is not
conservative because you deserted this one you are
not giving your vote to this one who's
conservative so it is indirectly as you have
giving it to the other and the other
one is also winning the the election because
this one's a conservative he's in need of
your vote and you decided not to give
it to him okay so then you bear
the consequences and you will regret later on
so that's why the prophet said anything today
they ask me which will lead to the
common good i will give it to them
i will not hesitate so he commented and
he said this is an evidence and it's
clear cut evidence that you can cooperate with
the non-muslims in certain areas for the
common good is this clear to the questioner
that is clear inshallah next question sheikh if
someone is fasting and has a mouth ulcer
that bleeds sometimes and he accidentally swallows the
blood without knowing and spits later on whenever
he realizes is his fast valid valid yes
okay next question is
it true that we stoned the jamarat at
hajj because ibrahim and his family stoned shaitan
because he was trying to stop them from
fulfilling the sacrifice for allah yeah that's what
they mentioned in the in the in the
seerahs that these are the places where ibrahim
stoned the shaitan and and that is in
these places when he was trying to persuade
him not to slaughter uh ismail so he
stoned him in these places so that's why
these are symbols these are uh something reminding
us about that great event the slaughtering of
ismail so when you are stoning the jamarat
you are not stoning shaitan actually but just
it is something symbolic you remember that in
this place places ibrahim stoned the shaitan next
next question assalamu alaikum is it haram to
wear clothes with a picture of an eye
on it the uh the
garment has an eye on it when you
buy clothes try to avoid all these things
okay hands eyes heads or something like that
but if now you have this garment okay
and let's say maybe it is a vest
or something and then it is covered with
something else there's no harm but don't buy
a new one if it is something because
you see the uh the uh hadith of
aisha when she bought the curtains and put
the curtains on the door and it has
pictures of living things the prophet did not
enter the house he stayed outside until she
said i cut it and uh into pieces
and i we made cushions out of the
of that piece of cloth so the ulama
they say as i mentioned in another hadith
it is just a picture or in a
piece of cloth and it is humiliated people
they step on it you sleep in it
like a let's say carpet or let's say
bed sheet or let's say a blanket things
like that so use them until they become
rags then you get rid of them shabby
clothes but don't buy new ones don't buy
new ones the same thing when a woman
gives a birth a child her friends they
visit her give her gifts and most of
the time they bring uh some suits and
uh vests and shorts for the baby and
many of them they have this small picture
so here there is an exception inshallah is
this clear to the questioner yes that is
clear and that was our last question for
tonight if you'd like to conclude the session
may Allah bless you may Allah bless you
in these beautiful days and don't waste them
huh okay these are the best days throughout
the year so keep yourself busy reading of
the quran fasting all these things may Allah
accept our deeds and your deeds and may
Allah bless you and bless your families protect
you and protect your families and may Allah
grant shifa and good recovery to those who
are sick and ill and may Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala reward all of you my
dear brothers and sisters immensely for your patience
and attendance till we meet inshallah in the
coming session i leave you in Allah's company
and protection alaikum salam
