Sheikh,
no apologies required from yourself. We apologize
for our impatience,
Sheikh.
We'll start in 1 minute, Sheikh.
Go.
Ready if you are.
Ready.
Okay.
Brothers and sisters,
and welcome to our first lesson of a
new series,
the virtues of Islam,
which will be delivered by our beloved Sheikh,
Sheikh Salem Al Amrik.
As everyone is aware,
as most of you are regular students,
we usually have the first
hour or so,
dedicated for the text and the second part
of the lesson
for question and answers.
When it comes to that time,
inshallah, we will open up the floors,
open up the mics, etcetera, to ask questions
directly, or you can send it through
the chats.
I will now pass the
mic and the screen to the sheikh and
the sheikh will introduce
the author, introduce the text,
and, we'll begin inshallah.
My dear brothers and sisters,
we are starting
a new
text
which talks about
Islam, the virtues of Islam
by the Imam, and we get the Mohammed
Imam.
And before we delve into the topic and
go through the book,
I feel
there is a need
to give an introduction
about
the virtues of a swab.
This beautiful deal,
which many of us
do not appreciate
what they have.
They don't
appreciate
this greatest blessing
of being a Muslim.
Because many of us are born
Muslim, grow up as Muslim. So we don't
feel
the value of what we have.
Yeah.
Born in the light, brought up a light
so you don't know darkness.
So please
concentrate
in what is going to be said
in order that,
you will appreciate
this
deen al Islam.
This great blessing
bestowed upon us by Allah.
They say
they contrast
when there is a comparison,
then you will understand
the the,
and you can
see the difference
between the two opposite
if there is a contrast,
if there is a comparison.
So contrast
and comparison,
it manifests. It shows.
It depicts
the beauty
of the opposite.
The beauty of the opposite.
By the examples,
the picture will become clear.
We now have 2 things.
This thing is beautiful. This one is ugly.
So what will
make me appreciate the beauty of this object?
The ugliness of this one, because they can
see and make the comparison.
And
by the contrast,
I can
understand and they can appreciate
the beauty of this one.
And this exactly what an Arab poet
my brother brothers and sisters.
I will keep nagging.
I will keep reminding you.
I will keep encouraging you to learn Arabic,
to know your deal.
Listen to this
beautiful two poetic verses
by an Arab poet.
He is describing
the beauty of his will of Duam.
He said.
And you see the poetry for the,
for the Arabs'
poetry.
The Arabs were unelected nation.
So
they
put everything,
their history,
their habits, their everything
in
through poetry,
in their poems.
That's why they say poetry
is the annals.
The annals or the records
for the history of the Arabs is their
poetry.
And the scholars,
they studied poetry
in order to understand
how the Arabs
communicate
and how they talk
and the different
styles and patterns of speech
in their language
because the Quran
came down in their mother tongue.
So if you don't know their mother tongue,
you will not understand the Quran naturally
and logically.
Anyway,
this poet says,
describing the beauty of his
beloved one.
He said,
See
the contrast here. See the comparison.
That is the face.
So he's saying half face
is as white as daylight.
Her face is as white as daylight.
That she is she has
white skin.
A shadow
and her hair
is as black as night,
as dark as the night,
As black as the
the blackness of the night.
So you can imagine now white face and
very dark hair. So you can see the
contrast.
You appreciate how beauty now because you see
this
black hair and then this white face.
Then he said,
They say
but Danny,
2 opposite. What are they?
Whiteness and blackness are 2 opposite.
The whiteness of her face and the darkness
of her head. So whiteness and darkness
are 2 opposite.
They are opposite to each other.
2 opposite.
When they call exist
when they coexist,
they become perfect.
Though they are opposite. But now when they
are together,
I put them together.
Black hair and white face,
they become perfect.
The look is so perfect
and so beautiful.
2 opposite when they coexist,
they become perfect.
What would do, you'll hear
of
would do,
and an opposite
manifest
the beauty of its opposite.
And opposite
shows
and reflects
the beauty of its opposite.
So
the blackness
shows the beauty of the whiteness,
Shows the beauty of the likeness.
So an opposite
what the new
the Danny, 2 opposite,
blackness and whiteness.
When they become together,
put together, coexist,
they become perfect.
Beautiful.
What would do,
you'll hear
would do, and then opposite manifest the beauty
of opposite.
See, my dear brothers and sisters,
you don't appreciate health
except
when you see the opposite of the health
and feel it.
So the beauty of health is shown by
sickness.
Then you realize the beauty
and the value
of health.
If there's no sickness,
you will not know and realize and discover
the value
of being healthy and healthiness.
But sickness
makes us realize
the value
and the beauty of being healthy
because it is the opposite.
Sickness is the opposite of health or healthiness.
Richness.
You will not
know the value of richness, of being rich
till you
experience
poverty.
Then you appreciate
what you have,
the fortune,
because you felt poverty before.
So that's why
people who
were all those
people who went through hardships
and experienced poverty,
and then Allah
bless them with wealth.
They remain
grateful to Allah.
They remain humble.
As a matter of fact,
they are helping the poor and the needy
because they experience that.
Their children who go up
with
golden spoons in their mouth,
they don't know the value of this wealth.
So they are extravagant
and wasting, and they waste this wealth.
They don't know its value because they did
not feel
the pence of hunger.
They did not feel
poverty.
They did not experience
the same thing.
Peace.
You don't appreciate peace till you lose it.
If you ask now the countries
where there are
wars going on,
and the people are scattered all over the
world
as refugees.
And they are dreaming to go back to
their homeland.
And they are crying over the days of
the past
when they have peace,
and now you don't have it.
So what will make you appreciate and understand
the value of peace
when you start
feeling insecure?
So insecurity
will manifest the the virtue of peace.
Justice.
You will not know the value of this
word justice
till you lose it.
And when you are treated unjustified
and
you
are
oppressed
and injustice and tyranny
and dictatorship
becomes
dominant,
then and only then you realize
the value of justice.
Beauty.
How can you know that
she is beautiful?
Oh, this is beautiful.
Oh, that is beautiful.
If there is nothing called ugliness
but if there is ugliness,
then
the contrast.
Yeah.
This is ugly. This is beautiful.
Knowledge.
What will manifest the virtue of the knowledge?
Ignorance.
If there is ignorance, then you know the
value
of the the
value of the knowledge.
The same thing, wisdom.
You know? The virtue of wisdom
when there is foolishness.
You see a wise man and you see
a foolish man.
A fool and a wise man,
then you see the virtue of wisdom.
Once a wise man was asked,
how did you become wise?
He said, the fools, they made me wise.
The fools
made me
wise.
They said how? He said, whenever I see
a person
doing something foolish,
I tell myself I should not have that
ignoble
quality.
And I'm living in an ocean of fools,
so every day I am getting rid of
many
ignoble qualities that's why
that's how I became wise.
Listen to this this what I have said,
summarize
in few lines by
the second caliph,
he said,
to draw us to this important
issue,
to
know the opposite.
If you don't know the opposite,
you will not appreciate what they have.
He said,
and they want you to write this down.
He said,
A
time will come.
A time will come.
So he is talking
about future.
When
all the handholds of Islam,
A time will come when
all the handholds of Islam
will be untied. One handhold untied after the
other.
And that is when a person
grows up in Islam
without knowing Jahiliyyah.
When a person grows up in Islam without
knowing Jahiliyyah,
he will not appreciate
the blessing of Islam
because he did not experience
Jahiliyyah,
the living in the days of ignorance,
They're
living in the dark.
That's why the Sahaba,
they experienced the Jahiliyyah.
They knew it.
They knew everything. They tried everything.
So nothing is new to them.
All evil's name. They know it.
They know all these things.
So when they saw the light,
they appreciated that.
Many of us today,
children of Islam, Muslim children grow up in
Islam,
and they are leaving Islam.
Nowadays,
it became a fashion
among the youth. I'm an atheist.
Because he is fool.
He doesn't know what is atheism.
And when you discuss with him, he doesn't
know anything. Yes.
Became
a.
A trend.
So this
what is saying. Because those this you
generation or this group
of young ones,
they don't
they they are naive.
They did not experience
Jahiliyyah.
They didn't
know
the days of Jahiliyyah.
So they don't appreciate what Islam has given
them.
And you see the contrast now.
Those boys and girls who go out and
listen and go to the net and you
will see,
I have left Islam.
Really?
Who's the loser? Islam or you?
The day you left Islam,
tens and hundreds became Muslims.
People are coming from the dark,
from the Galilee into Islam,
And you are leaving the light into darkness,
who's the loser?
You are the loser.
And you are going to have miserable life.
Those brothers and sisters who were murdered to
Islam,
they got fed up
of defense
of
the
Jahiliyyah. And they found what they have been
searching for and looking for.
And you are looking for defense
and the dirt
and the life of misery,
you would regret.
So that is what Shri Nur Umar is
referring to.
A time will come
when all the handholds of Islam
will be untied.
And that is when a person grows up
in Islam
without knowing the Jahiliya
to see
the Quran.
The our problem, my dear brothers and sisters,
when we read the book of Allah, we
do not
ponder upon it.
Listen to what Allah is saying, Israel Ali
Imran,
I am
103.
When he is reminding
the believers
about his blessing,
which he bestowed on them,
They said, Subhanah,
What's good
Is that okay?
You're
a.
Listen. Let's see.
Allah is reminding
the believers,
and this came down regarding
the insar in particular.
We're fighting each other before Islam.
And hold firmly to the robe of Allah
altogether.
And do not become divided
and remember.
So now Allah is
reminding them
of their current situation
and the situation they had they were upon
in the past.
What they are upon today and what they
were upon in the past
to make them see the comparison
and to realize and appreciate
Allah's blessing.
So Allah reminds this reminds them and said,
and remember the favor of Allah upon you
when you were enemies.
When you were enemies.
Today, you are not enemies. Today, you are
brothers.
Before Islam,
you were oath and.
Today, you are the unsaved.
Today, you are brothers.
Don't be mad Islam.
You were cousins,
yet you were enemies to each other.
So who proved that love
and filled your hearts with love
and instilled in your heart
the true brotherhood.
That is Allah.
And remember
the favor of Allah upon you
when you were enemies,
and he brought
your hearts together.
He brought your hearts together.
Before your hearts were not together,
before your hearts went against each other,
and he brought your hearts together,
and you became by his favor,
brothers.
See
see the comparison. See the evictions.
I was reminding them.
See what you all upon today.
See my blessing.
See what you were before and what you
are upon today.
You were enemies today, your brother.
And you were on the edge
the edge of a pit of the fire,
and he saved you from it.
Thus,
does Allah make clear to you his verses
that you may be guided.
You may be guided.
So remember Allah's blessings
and remember what you were
upon. Remember what you were,
and that's why I'm telling you,
hold firmly
to the robe of Allah
altogether.
It cannot be divide divided.
Take another.
And so that's part of
item number 19 to 22.
Allah
says, see the see the compassion.
Why Allah is is doing that?
So that we see
and visualize and appreciate
his blessings,
his bounties.
Allah says,
Allah says,
yesterday
What are yesterday?
Two pictures.
Allah is telling you, be to your lives.
Compare.
Not equal are the blind and the seen.
Alluding to
that
guidance
is not like misguidance.
Believe is not like the disbelief.
Because when you are blind, that is
that blindness
is the kufr,
the blindness of disability.
And when you are saying, that is the
light of iman in your heart.
So when Allah
coins these
similitudes and these paddle boats in his book
by giving them
examples they know
so then they can correlate
to the abstract
meanings.
Not equal are the blind and the seeing.
Those who see and those who are blind.
Yes. People, they would they will not argue.
So how do you appreciate
the faculty of saying?
Are they with you?
The you when you lose that when you
lose your sight,
then you appreciate
this blessing
that Allah has given you to A'esh.
You see, my dear brothers and sisters,
we cannot thank Allah
for this blessing only.
If all our life we are worshiping Allah,
we cannot be grateful enough
and thank Allah as our child for this
blessing.
That's why he said,
you will never be able to enumerate
and count Allah's blessings
which he bestowed on upon you.
He has given you provided for you.
K?
From all the things that you
asked him. He provided for you.
And if you try to count and
enumerate
Allah's blessings, you'll not be able to do
that
because his blessings
are so numerous.
So thank Allah that you are a Muslim.
Thank Allah that you are from the Ummah
of Muhammad.
Thank Allah
that you are from this Umma of the
Jahayid.
Appreciate that.
And see how people are suffering
and people are in the darkness.
People are wandering
in darkness, in the dark.
One is to will proceed,
not equal
are the blind and the same.
Nor are the darkness
and the light
and not
equal. Light is not like darkness.
Iman is not like.
Just darkness is not equal light. The same
thing iman is not like the kufa. Believe
is not like the disbelief.
If you have if you have a disbeliever,
you are living in darkness,
and that is the truth. That is the
reality.
See? Opposite.
That. Nor are the shade and the heat.
Shade,
cool,
and heat. Scorching heat. Are they the same?
No. No.
No. They're not the same.
To sit in the shade, cool shade,
nice place,
for to sit in
the heat, scorching heat.
It burns your skin.
They're not the same.
So similarly,
hellfire
is not like the jelly.
They're not the same.
Nor are the shade and the hate.
And not equal are the living and the
dead.
Are
they equal? No.
They're not the same.
So do not equate the living with the
dead.
That's why the ayah ended.
Hate you not to be be able to
make the dead hear you because the dead
are not like the living. Those
Muslim
who called the dead and asked the dead
and invoked them,
They equate. They make them equal.
They think that this or this
can respond
and convey the supplications.
So Allah is saying they're not equal. They're
not the same.
And not equal are the living and the
dead.
And here,
Those the living are the believers,
those who responded
to the message,
And the dead the disbeliefs.
Disbeliefs
are dead.
They're physically
living,
but they are dead. Their hearts are dead.
They are blind, though they have their eyes.
But they don't see. That's why Allah called
them. Dead, dumb, blind.
And
the prophet said,
k. So the similitude,
the example, the parable
of one who remembers Allah
and one who doesn't remember Allah.
An example for that is like the dead
and the living.
The one who remembers Allah is alive.
The one who doesn't remember Allah,
who doesn't make dikr,
who don't who hardly moves his or her
tongue
to praise Allah and celebrate his praises,
they are like
they are dead. They are dead, and their
hearts will become dead. Their hearts will become
dead
because the what will give life to the
heart is Allah's dikr,
The dikr, the remembrance of Allah.
As Sheikh said,
he said, the dikr for the heart like
fish for the water for the fish.
So the dikr for the heart is like
water for the fish.
You take the fish out of water, the
fish will die.
So no dikr, the heart will die.
So if you want your heart
to remain alive,
get yourself engaged in Allah's remembrance.
So
the dead are not like the living.
Believer, not like the the disbelievers.
Those who are engaged in Allah's not like
those who hardly mentioned Allah.
Those they they have spiritual life. Those
they have
spiritual vacuum.
Those,
their souls
are
flying,
roaming in the other assembly.
And the others,
they are roaming around
the
momentary
pleasures
of this worldly life,
the pleasures of the flesh.
That's what the souls are roaming around.
The living did not lack the dead.
Allah causes to hear whom he wills
whom he wills.
But you cannot make here those
in the graves.
You cannot make the dead one in the
graves to
hear you.
And now listen to this beautiful hadith,
which is also a Imam Muslim,
describes
the situation
of the world
of the world
prior to the advent of Islam,
how the world looks like
1400 years ago,
how this all earth
looked like.
That we have this beautiful day
that teaches us everything.
The meaning in English
and pay attention, please.
Reported
that
the messenger
while delivering the sermon one day
said. So the
prophet said,
behold,
remember,
my lord commanded me
that I should teach you
which you do not know
and which he has taught me today.
He receives,
revelation.
He conveyed
it immediately to his companions.
He has instructed
me and told me,
the property Allah said, this is hadith for
2. The property which I had conferred,
conferred upon
them is
lawful for them.
Saying, the property, the fortune
that I bestowed, that I have given you,
they are lawful for you. They are halal
for you.
Then Allah said,
I have created my servant.
See how the deviation of humanity
started
and began.
I have created my servants
as one,
as one group,
believers.
I've created my servants as one having a
natural
inclination
to worship
to the worship of Allah.
But it is Satan who turns them away
from the right religion
and makes them unlawful
and makes and makes unlawful what has been
declared lawful for them.
And he commands them to just try partnership
with me, although he has no justification
for that.
So Allah is telling us here that he
created
all mankind
with with
this ability,
with this natural
inclination,
with this
victor, this
position
to turn to him and to worship him
alone.
But what happened?
This what the she found it.
But it is Satan who turns them away.
So who misled the humanity?
Who misled mankind
from the light religion?
It is the shayphah.
Satan.
As you know,
the first shift happened
the first
polytheistic
acts took place
during the
time
of prophet Noah,
those who worship
Ya'uksha, Yehuda, and Nasrach.
And
who
guided them and instructed them
to worship them? The shaypah,
as you know.
So Satan who tells them away from the
lies to religion,
and he makes a lawful
what has been declared lawful for them.
Allah said, this is Haram?
She said, no.
No. It's
Haram. It's lawful. It's good for you.
Allah said,
hamal, liquor, alcohol is prohibited.
Say no. No.
No. Shephan
comes. And then, of course, the shephan has
his own
supporters.
He has his
human devils
who also
his tools,
his agent, he uses them.
They will legislate
and act laws and make voting
and alcohol is halal
by law, by the constitution.
According to the constitution, it is legal.
The same
way.
Condication,
adultery.
When you reach the age of 18,
you are free.
Enjoy your life.
Legal.
By law by law
by law,
you can do whatever you like.
No.
It's okay to take interest.
So this is
what happened,
This time,
misled mankind.
And now his his followers are doing the
job.
K. He's just supervising them,
and they are coming up every day with,
new ideas,
new ways
of making the unlawful.
Don't you hear? Don't you see?
50 years back,
no one could dare
to talk about these words.
Taboo.
Taboo. Taboo.
When you read, open
taboo.
Don't use
it. Today, is there anything called taboo?
Nothing.
Nothing.
K?
Nothing.
Japan.
No.
Man. Man is a man.
A woman, man is another woman.
It's halal
by the law.
I told you many times. I was shocked
when I heard the click.
A minister is talking, and he's introducing,
and he said,
and here I am introducing
my husband to you.
My husband.
A man.
So when humanity
reaches that level,
we are heading towards the end of
the world.
And he makes the shaitan unlawful what has
been declared
lawful for them.
It's the shaitan.
And he commands them
to associate and ascribe
partnership with me,
to make partners associate partners with me,
although he has no justification
for that.
Then the papa salaam continued,
and verily Allah look towards the people of
the world.
Allah looked upon the people of the earth,
and he showed hatred.
He hated.
He despised.
He showed hatred for the Arabs
and the non Arabs.
I like
he looked upon the people of the
Arabs and non Arabs.
And hate he hated that. And he hated
what they upon
and what they were doing.
But with the exception
of some remnants
from the people of the book,
with the exception
of handfuls
from among not only people of the book,
handful of the from among
them. Those who remained pious
and righteous,
those who remain
following
the true
revelation,
the true message
of Moses, Musa alaihi salaam,
and Jesus Christ,
peace and blessings of Allah upon all of
them.
So those Allah made exception for them, but
with the exception of some remnants
from the
people of the book, the people of the
scripture.
And the prophet continued
Mentioning the Hadith. And he, Allah
said,
I have sent you, oh Muhammad,
in order to put you to test
and put those to test through you.
This is Allah's
way.
So he's telling his father, I have sent
you
in order to re to put you through
test
to face all these
afflictions
and oppositions
and tribulations.
I have sent you
in order to put you to test.
And put
those,
your enemies,
through
also to test through you.
And then I must say,
and I send the book to you.
I send the book to you,
which cannot be washed away by water.
And they send the book to you,
which cannot be washed away by water
so that you may recite it
while in the state
of wakefulness
or sleep.
What does this mean?
I sent
the book to you, which is the Quran,
which cannot be washed away by water. What
does it mean?
This Quran will not be washed away by
water.
If I take a copy of the Quran
and put it in water,
the ink will not go?
That's the meaning?
No.
The meaning
cannot be washed away by water
because it is in the chest of men,
because it is mammarized.
We have millions of mammarizers.
So the Quran in their heart, if they
go to the water and take a dip
and swim,
the Quran will not be washed away.
It is protected
in their hearts. That's the meaning of it.
That's why you need
to know Arabic.
That's why you need
to go to the books of the scholars
and their ulama and how they explain the
hadith.
Now that you say,
I can take the copy of Sahih Muslim.
I can open and
say, you see, the Quran cannot be washed
away by water. Then an atheist comes to
you and say, I challenge you. This is
the Quran. See? It is washed by water.
You say, what?
And you think
what you have said and what you have
believed is wrong,
and you don't know the reason behind
this shock is your
ignorance
because you don't know.
Had you asked this scholar?
Had you
opened the books
of commentaries,
the explanation of Sahih Muslim
by Imam Nawawi,
you will see
how the scholars explain the hadith.
My dear brothers and sisters, that is our
record.
And they send the book to which
cannot be washed away by water
so that you may recite
it while in the state of wakefulness when
you are awake or sleep.
Verily, then the
the the hadith continued.
Verily, Allah commanded me
to burn,
to kill
to fight
to kill
That's what Allah commanded.
Allah commanded me to burn
the
type of
to kill
I said, my lord,
they would break my head like
the tearing of a of bread.
They will break smash my head.
And that was said,
you will turn them out
as they turned you out.
You will turn them out as they turned
you out.
You fight against them,
and we shall help you in this.
You should spend,
you would be
conferred upon
and will spend on you.
You send an army,
and I would send an army 5 times
later than that, which is happens on the
day of Badr.
Angels came down fighting along with the Muslims.
Fight against those who disobey you,
the disbelievers.
Fight against those who disobey you along with
those who obey you. Those who obey you,
the Muslims,
fight along with them those who disobey you.
Then he said the hadith said, the inmates
of paradise are free.
The 3 categories of those who will be
the inmates
of the hellfire.
The inmates,
of the genre. Sorry.
The inmates of paradise are 3.
One
who wields authority
and is just and fair.
So this one,
first, who
has the authority
of ruler,
but he is a just
ruler.
He's teaching his subject
justly.
His
reign is known of justice
and fairness.
So he would be in the.
I come up with that. These are like
the
the 4 k lists.
He distributed,
dollars to the people as
part of the spoils.
And we're not saying Nurmagal,
his stature,
his physique. He's very tall.
So everyone got one piece.
So he was addressing
the Muslims
and asking them to obey him.
So one of the Muslims stood up, and
they said,
we will not obey your umad
until you explain to us.
How did you get that long garment?
It's not one piece. It's more than 1
piece.
Each one of us got only 1 piece.
How did you
get more than that?
And Nuramal asked his son, where is Abdullah?
Get up.
Explain to him.
It is his son gave that piece his
piece of cloth
to his father so he can stitch 1
garment for himself.
Then the man said, the Sahabi, now command
and we will obey.
Command and we will obey.
So this is the first one, ruler.
1 who has
wheels authority and is just and fair.
2nd, 1
who's trust who's truthful
and has been endowed with power to do
good deeds.
He's truthful
telling the truth,
and he does the right to teach.
And then the third and the person who
is merciful and kind
hearted.
And the person who is merciful and kindhearted
towards his relatives
and to every pious Muslim.
So you see,
we need to check ourselves. Are we do
we fall in these 3 categories?
Do we fall in these 3 categories?
1st category, we are not we are not
rulers.
How about the second?
Are we truthful
and you like your things?
Or the third category,
are we merciful and kindhearted?
And the person who is merciful and kindhearted
towards his relatives
and to every pious Muslim
is kindhearted.
They are Muslims.
And
they are Muslims.
Their
hearts are full of hatred,
envy,
jealousy.
When they talk about their brothers, you feel
as if he's talking about his enemies.
What
is this?
What a sick heart you have got?
This how you talk about your Muslim brothers
or sister?
Don't you remember
the hadith of the Sahabi
that the prophet said
now a man from among the people of
Jannah will enter upon us?
And it was sight of the Allahanhu.
The his beard was,
soaked with water. The drops of water are
falling. He just took.
Same time.
It happened.
And then one of the sahaba said, uncle,
I had an issue with my father, so
I want to be your guest for 3
nights
to find out
what is the special thing he's doing,
which entitled him for this
privilege,
this good news,
to be a from among the people of.
He didn't say anything different. After the day,
he say, uncle,
I
have I have no problem with my dad,
with my father, except I wanted to find
out because
our public would say and imagine that. He
said, that's it, my son.
Nothing special.
Except
when I go to sleep,
I clear my heart.
I don't hold any
ill feeling,
malice,
grudge against any Muslims.
But many Muslim,
they
sleep with their hearts full of hatred
against their own problems.
May Allah guide them, and may Allah purify
their hearts,
And may Allah purify our hearts as well,
So this is the 3rd category. You can
be from among them. It is easy.
Every night, you reset your heart.
You clear it. You don't hold any
feeling
a feeling towards your brothers and sisters.
And the person who's merciful and kindhearted
towards his relatives and to every Muslim.
And one who does not stretch his hand
in spite of having large
family to support.
He has
this. So he doesn't
stretch out his hand to beg
for support and help.
And such people, we have to look for
them
because they don't ask.
And he said,
the hadith continued,
the inmates of * are fire,
the inmates of the hellfire.
The weak who lack power to avoid evil.
What does
what does it mean? The weak who lack
power to avoid evil.
Yeah. He doesn't control his desires.
He's living
free life.
That's what they're saying.
Do whatever you like.
No
limits.
This the hadith talks about.
The we call because he's weak, he has
no will
to control his desire.
So he's a servant
of
and slave of his own desires.
He is worshiping his own desire.
The weak who lack power to avoid evil.
They can't flee or pursue
everything irrespective
of the fact that it is good or
evil.
Those are the the slaves.
They're carefree.
K?
And yet
they do the harm.
They commit zina.
They don't lead
moral life
and who do not have any care for
their family
or for their wealth.
What does that mean?
They
it never crossed their minds
to establish a family
and have decent life.
They're just
living that
life
of simpleness, full of sins,
and do not have a care for their
family.
They don't have the intention to form families,
so then they can take care of their
family.
Or for their wealth.
They are lazy. They don't want to earn
and and work
so that their hand will be the other
hand.
So this is one category
of the people of the Hellfire.
Then the post act 7 19, and those
dishonest
another category. And those dishonest whose greed cannot
be concealed
even in the case of minor things.
They are so greedy.
This is another
category.
And those dishonest,
their greed cannot be
hidden.
And the third,
who betray you morning and evening
in regard to your family and your property.
This guy is always there
to betray you
regarding
your
honor, regarding your family, regarding your wife.
So he's trying to
betray
and to form relationship
with your family,
k, with your spouse.
And the third, who will betray you morning
evening at regard to your family
and your property.
He also made the mention of the miser
and the liar
and those who are in the habit of
abusing people
and using
obscene
and foul
language
foul language.
So you don't use obscene
and foul
language.
The Muslim,
his his speech,
his tongue will never utter such
foul
or vulgar
words.
And they also made mention of the miser,
should not be a miser or a liar.
Those who are in the habit of abusing
people, insulting people, using obscene and foul
language.
Muslim cannot use the 4 letter word as
you know.
Right? Like the people of Jahiliyyah.
Right?
So when you are angry, you said just
peace and go
and control your anger,
control your tongue.
Abu Ghassan in his narration, the narrator said,
did not make mention of spend
and do
would be spent for you. This is.
So this beautiful hadith, my dear brothers and
sisters,
taught us many things.
And
the,
he gave us
the background,
an idea
about this and
this about what was the situation
prior
to his coming,
prior of being chosen chosen
as
the last messenger
of Allah to humanity
and the seal
of Prophet.
And we'll continue, inshallah,
the introduction
in the coming session.
May Allah
keep us remain on this beautiful deed
in Islam.
May
Allah increase our knowledge
in the deen.
May Allah forgive us our faults and mistakes
and ignorance,
and may Allah
guide
our guide the Muslims and guide our hearts
on the truth.
And may Allah reward all of you, my
dear brothers and sisters,
for your patience
and attendance.
Inshallah, we will stop the question and answers,
session.
Brothers and sisters, please
send in your questions
on the chats, or you can raise your
hands and ask your questions directly.
Sheikh, we're ready for questions?
Yes. Yes.
Inshallah.
Okay.
First question. Assalamu alaikum Sheikh.
Can we use money from Zakat to pay
for the hospital bills
of the sick Muslims and tuition fees of
Muslim school
children that are poor?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he himself distributed it,
and he mentioned
those who are eligible
for the zakah.
So these categories of the zakah mentioned,
those who are eligible for zakah,
then we give them the money. We give
them the zakah.
It's up to them to do
what they want.
Not that we dictate on them.
K? That we will pay
your
the fees of the school
or
the bills of water and electricity
or the tuitions.
No. No. No.
I take the zakah and give it to
the poor,
and it is up to him.
The poor, he knows what he needs.
Is this clear to the questioner?
Yes,
That is clear. The next question we have
is, what is the name of the book
that we are currently studying?
The name of the book is Fa'ba'il
Islam
or Virtues of Islam
by Sheikh Mohammed
It is there on the net. Download it,
and we will go through it.
Brothers and sisters, any more questions, please send
them in fast.
Otherwise, we will
end the session. Next question.
What advice would be given to a person
who thinks that our fitna
is greater than that at the times of
the prophets?
No.
At
least, I mean, you can go and pray.
No one will stop you. K. What does
it have? I went through it to something,
unbelievable.
But what the questioner is saying that,
now the moral corruption is more than before,
which is true.
K?
People are disintegrated.
People are decaying, morally decay.
So things in the past, I guess, if
you go back
during your lifetime,
50 years back, if you have little bit
advanced in age, you'll see
the curve.
Okay?
This
down falling,
free falling,
Morality
is
this this decay in morality,
everything becomes
you don't talk if you talk about ethics
and
morals
let's see.
You you you you you you you, see
him and appear
a strange person.
What are you doing? Are you living in
stone age or,
primitive
the,
primitive person?
This so the question, he meant it in
that way, in that context.
Today,
we are suffering,
and we don't find people to support us
and to help us to center our iman.
That's why
the practicing
brothers and sisters,
they are strangers.
Sangers are tomes, strangers at work,
everywhere.
People are looking at them.
And when you talk, you say,
where are you?
You're living in another age.
You're not living in our time.
They realize that we can make it easy
for the changes, I mean.
Next.
The next question, Sheikh.
Can someone work in post office and pack
alcohol?
Work and post office? Yes. But pack alcohol?
No.
You have to say I'm a Muslim. I
will not do that.
Okay. They will sack you. They will fire
you. No problem.
Allah will provide.
That's simple. Next.
Next question, Sheikh. We know the ruling regarding
the woman, but what about forcing men to
marry someone
that they don't like?
No one can force the man to marry
someone.
So if he accepted the marriage, that means,
finally,
he decided to okay his to please his
parents
that you have to marry this girl. Otherwise,
we will not be happy with you.
Okay?
So he decided to, okay, to please them,
and so he accepted.
But no one can force you. And if
you say no, that will not be considered
a hope or
undutefullness
towards them. No?
But this is your life, and no one
can force you to
marry a woman that you don't like.
Next.
Okay, Sheikh. The next question. What is the
best way to show the virtues of Islam
to non Muslims, especially the people of the
book?
By practice,
we have to show them a reality. We
practice our Islam.
And that's what the early Muslim were like
live examples.
They are like examples.
K? Your neighbor, you give to that your
neighbor has lights
as the told us.
Neighbors, they have lights.
Your attitude, your behavior.
When you talk to the opposite * at
work, you are not looking at them.
You are lowering your gaze.
You are kind to the to the people,
kind to the elders.
You the respect. So they have to see
they have to see
that
Islam is really impacted,
not what the people are waiting for.
You see that?
Is this clear?
Yes, That is clear.
The next question.
Assalamu alaikum, Sheikh. I happen to enroll in
an institute that demanded I have to select
a particular
school of thought either
Baliki, Shafi'i, Hanbili, or Hanafi.
And if I don't,
I should leave the institute.
Sheikh is a compulsory to study a particular
madhab?
There's nothing wrong over studying particular madhab,
especially
the madhab that is
famous in your country where you are living.
For example, if you are in the subcontinent
India, Pakistan, Hanafi
and. So you are a student of knowledge.
And finally, people will come and ask you
questions.
So you should know the mad hub, which
is
in your,
country.
And if you study the
the lies, the the biographies
of the scholars,
they started studying the madha,
right,
which is there in their country.
Even scholars of hadith.
Right? Their beginning soon, they
were students, small ones.
They studied that. What is there in the
country? Like, we have we have in Khabiri,
even Hagia Aspalani in Khabiri, even Imam Bukhari,
and many of them have these.
Many of them have these.
So there's nothing wrong
to study the matter.
What is not permissible
is this
the blind fellowship
and fanaticism
to become a fanatic. That is not it's
not acceptable.
But you're standing in the,
there's nothing wrong with it.
Because you are going to
have solid,
solid knowledge,
structured
way.
That's the benefit of if you study a
particular matter.
Later on at later phase,
okay, you will study
what is known
as
comparative
and you will follow the because
now you reach a state
of
or at least you can,
differentiate
between
opinions and which one is the strongest.
But you have to start somewhere.
This is my advice for the questioner.
So don't leave this institution. Study.
Next.
The next question, Sheikh.
I feel like all around me, I am
being greatly tested recently, especially from family members.
Doubting my intentions
and causing arguments with me with regards to
my practice of my deal,
implying it's too strict or that there are
inconsistencies
in it. How do I overcome this?
You overcome it with,
patience.
K?
Allah
may help you and give you the strength.
Also, you need to check yourself.
Is there any truth in the criticism? Because
sometimes,
we feel that we are perfect.
When in reality, we make blunders and,
mistakes,
and we are blind. We don't see our
mistakes.
So one has
to pose
and reflect.
K?
Is there any truth in what they are
saying?
Then you avoid,
criticizing them
or
making them feel
uncomfortable
with what they are doing. If there is
something they are doing wrong,
use wisdom on how to change it
slowly but surely.
And the most important thing they should see
that you have
good character,
good manners,
good adam,
especially with parents,
your family. They have to see what Islam
has done to you.
You have become a different person.
They shout at you. They
and they are smiling.
Not that you are,
I mean, violent,
and you lose temper.
So look unto yourself and check yourself
and strengthen your relationship with your lord through
the and
through the at night and pray and cry
to Allah to guide them and to soften
their hearts. May Allah
guide all of us guide, all of Ummah
guide your family, and may Allah
our hearts.
Ameen. Next question. How
can one be grateful in all his ups
and downs of life?
We're not perfect. We're not angels.
We fall. We stand up,
and we say sorry, and Allah accepts.
We make us to the past.
When we commit to sin,
immediately, we do
a good deed after that.
As the prophet said in the Hadid,
if you do an an evil deed, do
after it a good deed so it will
wipe it away.
And treat the people,
okay,
nicely and have a good character, good manners.
So
this is it. We there will be ups
and downs in our lives.
This is natural.
We are human beings.
All human beings
are prone to make mistakes,
but the best of them are those who
frequently turn to Allah.
No one is perfect.
Just when you fall, get up immediately
because the shaitan wants you to remain in
that position,
remain committing that sin.
That's why the prophet
told us, salat e Tawba,
when you commit a sin,
immediately after that,
pray to and ask Allah for forgiveness.
Is this clear to the question?
Yes. That's clear, Sheikh and Shama. Next question.
This one
Can a female nurse take care of a
male patient?
Normally not.
She should look for the same * that
means he's
interacting and treating
the same women.
But if there is a necessity and there
was a need,
k,
then
there's
no
harm. Then there's no harm.
Okay? Old man, there's no
male nurse
to change the diapers and things like that.
Normally,
in
in shouldn't as in Muslim countries,
we have the male the female nurses
for the females and main nurses for the
males.
Next.
Next question, Sheikh. I wanted to ask,
can a fatwa be regarded as a Dalil
for any matter?
Of course, the fatwa is Dalil because the
fatwa will be based on
Dalil. There's
no fatwa without Dalil.
So the fatwa is based on evidence from
the Quran and the sunnah
or the ijma.
But now this fact,
sometimes maybe
the
way
the,
the the
in which he gave the fatwa.
And the evidence he used or the Delek
he used,
okay,
cannot be applied for this particular situation.
So
the will not make something, for example,
Like, some you'll hear today
saying that
the interest or the rebar
taking interest from the bank, some people, they
get.
That's what goes wrong.
Is haram where the it is
the
people, they,
the
the
new which is applied and used in
banks, but outside in any other form of
transaction.
So the fact that I make something,
haram.
Halal. No. It is wrong.
But normally, the mufti would is one who
feels
and
his fatwa
will be drawn from the the and the
sunnah.
K, based on the inputs
he received
regarding
a situation.
Because sometimes
that's why the factoid changes
over time
because
the you come to the same person
same person
same question, and the answer is yes.
For example, I'll give you an example.
When
the,
the hadith
that, about, husband
kisses his wife while fasting.
Asha said,
and who among you controls it can control
his desire like the puppet?
So that's why the the
one who kisses its old man,
so the kiss will not trigger his desire.
That's okay. I mean, mean they mean by
the kiss, Becky,
not the
French kiss.
Okay?
The Becky. That's what they meant.
But if the one is young, then the
he should not,
kiss his wife while he is fasting.
A
man came to and
he asked,
if someone kills someone
deliberately,
intentionally,
is there a chance for him
to make Tawba? Will Allah accept it repentance?
And Abbas turned at the man, looked into
his eyes, and he said, no.
He
will be in the
hellfire.
And the man left.
The students of Nabas
were surprised. This the first time they hear
the sheikh
saying
that there's no
chance for
the murderer or the killer or kill someone
deliberately
throughout their time with him. They hear, yeah,
he is teaching them. Yes. There it is.
And
now he's saying there's no.
So they asked him why.
This is something new.
He said, I saw in his in his
eyes
the the determination,
and he had the intention to kill.
So he's just looking for an excuse.
So he wants to get this from me?
He's going to kill someone?
Then he will repent.
So one of the students here ran after
the man
and asked him, tell me the truth.
Were you intending to kill someone? You said,
by Allah, yes.
But what to do?
Said, not over.
So that's what we have to understand.
So don't think that the sheikh is contradicting
himself. No. So the fatwa can change also
based on the circumstances.
Is this clear to the questioner?
Yes,
The next question.
Sheikh, the verse 21 of Surat Mahal.
They've written in English.
Also include grave worshiping because in
the
it is mentioned that
it is only referring to idols.
No. It refers to the dead. The the
dead also. They refer to them.
Headphones.
So calling the dead
because the the people of Noah
What was that?
I do. No. They were human beings.
Was
a
a man.
So
the cover's all. Next.
But sometimes the scholar will just give a
brief answer
and give s e g, example,
idols.
It's not confined and limiting the meaning. No.
Okay.
Next question.
Would a Muslim have a trait of hypocrisy
regarding breaking a promise?
If a Muslim tells
other Muslims they are done eating a particular
food, then they eat that food.
Again. Again.
So
would a Muslim have a trait of hypocrisy
regarding breaking a promise?
If a Muslim tells other Muslims they are
done
eating a particular food, but they finished,
they're out of this food.
They don't have any more of this food,
but then they eat that food themselves.
So he lied, you mean? Yeah.
Okay. This is a trade of democracy,
And this is what they call the,
practical hypocrisy of a hypocrisy of practice.
When he,
he tells,
when he,
talks, he lies.
When he promises, he breaks his promise.
And if he's entrusted, he's moving to be
not trustworthy.
Yes.
These are traits of.
Yes.
And one should
I
repent.
Next.
Okay, Sheikh. Next question.
You mentioned that when we commit sins,
we should perform and pray.
Does this apply to only major or minor
sins? Because
if it applies to minor sins, we commit
them almost all the time.
Do we have to pray
every time we commit minor sins?
The minor sins
minor sins,
are washed away by the by this, by
etcetera.
Major sins, you have to make.
So if you commit a major sin, you
make a and
you.
K?
And if you commit a minor sin, then
even minor sin, you have to do something
good,
good deed after that. So that sin will
be washed away because the prophet said, well,
I have to be a siyi al Hasar.
I do siyi, whether it is minor or
minor.
When you do a sin, do something good
after it to follow it so that it
will be washed away.
Is this clear to the question?
Okay. Next question, Sheikh.
I will do as
you recommended, Sheikh.
However, my family see all
the good that
I do
for my mother, my children, etcetera.
But I recently did not go to my
nephew's engagement party because they said categorically
that there would be music and also that
it would be a mixed gathering.
So now they are criticizing me by, for
example,
that I watch,
the Turkish drama,
since it also has music, which it does
not
which it does. They are right.
However,
even my 6 year old child
would be able to tell them I forward
or mute
any music parts when they come as it
is in my control,
and I can mute it. Whereas, when my
brother invited me to his son's engagement,
he point blank,
told me there would be music,
and that was not negotiable.
Therefore, I had to control or I had
no control over it, and therefore,
I didn't
go. But now they are making out I
am causing a rift in the family.
I am already a married yet single mom
trying to bring my son up alone,
fearing Allah to the best of my ability,
and Allah knows best.
Okay.
If I answer this question,
I made this request,
on different,
platform.
My dear brothers and sisters, when you,
ask a question, make it short,
sweet,
and beautiful to the point.
Now
you see the dawah
when you are doing dawah.
We have, first of all, to improve ourselves,
and people are watching us.
We are under the microscope.
And then when you criticize them,
say, what is this double standard?
You are watching
this drama.
K?
And there are men and women,
and you're watching that.
I'm asking. Is it okay?
A Muslim woman sits and watching
men and women,
and maybe many of these dramas. Okay. You
know what I mean?
So we have to.
And admit that we are
doing something wrong, and we have to repent
and quit.
That's why I say no. Omar used to
tell his family.
All family of Omar.
People, they look at you.
Like the the way
the bird
of
of prey, like
eagle, vulture,
Like the bird of prey
looks at
piece of meat.
Yeah. Like, this is watching you.
So
don't
behave yourself
because people will use that against me, and
they will tell me, go. First of all,
amend your home.
You before you ask us to amend our
walls.
K? So we have to
that's what I said in the beginning.
I should ask myself, is there any truth
in the criticism?
My advice for you, brothers and sisters, get
rid of the telly. Get rid of it.
Don't watch it.
It will not improve your iman for sure.
It will not increase your taqwa for sure.
It will not bring your closer to Allah
for
sure.
So why are you wasting your time?
How can you
maintain the purity of your heart and the
softness of your heart
when you watch these movies
and these serials
and these drums.
May Allah guide all of us.
So my advice for the questioner,
improve your character,
repent, quit sinning
so that when you
refuse to attend the gathering
where there is a sin,
they can understand and they will excuse you.
Otherwise, they will say, what is this? They'll
understand it.
You're saying I lower the music because they
have control of it.
This doesn't make it hard.
Why do you watch something which has music
at all?
Anyway,
next question, please.
Next question, Sheikh.
Is it halal to work at a company
where the employees are young students who tutor
other students on subjects they're really good at.
Sometimes,
this is all this also involves the employee,
the expert student,
doing others assignments, homework, questions, etcetera.
Did you understand?
Okay. Is it halal to work a working
with employees or young students who tutor other
students on subjects
they're really good at?
Okay. The first part of the question, Sheikh,
is
it halal to work
at a company where the
employees,
I. E, the teachers are actually students themselves?
That's the first part of the questions.
So the the the the teachers are actually
students themselves, but they are tutoring other students.
Is it halal to work in
that company? That's probably the first part of
the question.
No. I can't. I want to understand. What
will make it hard because they are students?
Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
The second part they're trying to say here
now
is that sometimes it involves the employee,
I. E. The one who's
taking the role of a teacher, but he's
actually a student also,
doing
other people's homeworks and assignments.
So yeah.
The students, they come to him, and
they ask him to do the assignments, and
then they take this, and this is my
assignment?
Yes. Yeah. He should not do that. He
cannot do that. Next.
Because this is cheating, and they, you help
them to cheat.
Sheikh, I believe that was the final question,
of today's session.
Sheikh, very clear.
If you'd like to conclude.
My dear brothers and sisters for your patience
and attendance.
Just, try to get the book and read
it.
K?
