Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi
wabarakatuhum
my dear brothers and sisters. May Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala bless us with the best in
this world and the next.
In today's video,
we are gonna be talking about the 4
main reasons for
Sheikh Abdullah al Shirkidi. May Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala preserve him and preserve the scholars of
this ummah.
He mentions that in Suratul Mudathir, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala tells us about the 4 main
reasons for a person's entry into the hellfire.
In Surah Al Mudathir, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
talks about Walid ibn al Muhgira
and other people like him
who are arrogant, stubborn, they reject the truth.
Not only that, they invent lies against Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala blessed him with tremendous
wealth,
with children.
He made life easy for him.
And instead of being grateful for these blessings
that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala blessed him with,
he was arrogant. He rejected the truth. He
knew the truth was from Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala yet he rejected it.
And he invented lies against Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. The Quraysh, they wanted to know his
opinion of the Quran.
What does he think about the Quran? People
were saying this is magic, this is sorcery
and other things. This is a lie. Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam is crazy.
So Walid said that the Quran is magic.
Not only that but that it's the speech
of a man.
It's not the speech of Allah
And Allah
talks about him and those like him, those
who are stubborn and arrogant and reject the
truth,
and they put their desires over accepting the
message of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
Allah says
That I will enter him into sukr.
Sukr is a name from the names of
jahannam.
They say that it is one of the
levels of jahannam.
And what do you know about the sukr?
It does not let anything remain.
Anything or anyone that enters it, it will
destroy them completely.
Not only that, it will not leave them
alone. A person will be destroyed in hellfire,
they will die, but then they will be
resurrected, they'll be brought back to life. And
this process will happen over and over and
over. There's no end in sight. Everything has
an end, but jahannam
has no end. It It will go on
forever.
It will change the color of the skin
of people. It will make it darker than
the darkest light.
It has 19
angels over it.
19 angels that protect it. When this ayah
was revealed,
Abu Jahl said to the Quraysh,
may your mothers be destroyed.
I hear Muhammad saying that the guardians of
*, the keepers of * are only 19,
and you people are strong and brave and
courageous.
Can't 10 of you take care of 1
of these guardians?
So a man from them said, I will
handle 17 of them. 10 at my back
and 7 at my front.
And you guys handled 2 of them.
They thought it was a joke that Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala only
appointed 19 angels. They didn't take it seriously.
They thought that they could deal with these
angels
but Ibra Abbas radiAllahu anhu, he said
that the distance
between the shoulders of one of these angels
is a year
and the strength of them is that with
one strike,
they throw 70,000
people into the depths of the hellfire. Allah
made this number a test for the believer.
As for the believer, they believe in it
with certainty.
And at the end of the day,
the hellfire is a reminder for humanity.
It is a reminder for them that this
life is temporary.
There is gonna be accountability.
And then there's either heaven or there's *.
Then Allah
swears by the moon, the night, the day,
and he says,
That indeed the hellfire is from the greatest
of things. The situation is something serious,
and it is a reminder. It's a warning
to humanity.
So whoever wants to get close to Allah
then let them do good deeds, let them
follow the path of Allah
let them obey Allah
And the one who doesn't care, then let
them do as they please because every person
will be restrained by their deeds.
And the one who did good will be
saved,
and the one who didn't,
they will be punished. Then Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala says,
Except the companions
of the right. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will
forgive their sins, will overlook their false and
enter them into jannah, enter them into paradise,
to beautiful gardens. Everything they desire will be
there for them, and they will be asking
one another
about the criminals.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will allow them to
ask the disbelievers
while they are in heaven enjoying,
and the disbelievers are in the depths of
*.
What put you into the saqr? What made
you enter hellfire?
And this is where they will mention the
four reasons for their entrance into hellfire.
The first thing they'll say, that we were
not from those individuals who used to pray,
who used to offer their salah.
Nor did they feed the poor. They weren't
good to others for the sake of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And if they did feed
the poor and if they were good to
others, it was for a worldly gain. Because
rich people know that in order to get,
you must give. So they give charity because
they know that it's gonna come back to
them. And then they said
We used to take part in wrong activities,
in committing sins, and entering into vain discourse
with people who used to engage in it.
They didn't spend their time in the obedience
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Instead they spent it in the disobedience of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala with other people who
were doing the same thing. And then they
say
And we rejected that there was gonna be
a day of accountability.
They rejected faith.
They didn't believe in what Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala told them to believe. They might have
believed in God, but they didn't believe in
the other articles of faith. They didn't believe
that there was gonna be a day where
they were gonna stand in front of Allah
Subhanahu Wa
and have to give account for what they
did in this world.
So here Allah
tells us the 4 main reasons for a
person's entry into Jahannam.
Not praying, not feeding the poor, engaging in
wrongful activities,
and rejecting faith. Rejecting that which Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala told us to believe in.
But if Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala told us
the reasons for a person's entry into the
hellfire,
he must also tell us the main reasons
for a person's entry into Jannah.
After all, the Quran talks about opposites. It
talks about faith and it talks about disbelief.
It talks about the believers. It talks about
the disbelievers. It describes Jannah. It describes Jannah.
Sheikh Abdullah ashanti, may Allah preserve him,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us that the
believers, the ones who believe in everything Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala told them to believe have
succeeded.
They believe in Allah, his messengers, his angels,
his books,
the day of resurrection,
and they believe in the divine decree of
Allah,
both good and the bad.
They establish their salah with Khushu with focus,
with concentration.
They stay away from wrongful activities. Everything that
has no benefit, they stay away from it.
And they are the ones who give their
zakah. They do the actions Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala made mandatory upon them. And then Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala describes a few more characteristics
of these individuals and he says
Those are the inheritors, the ones who inherit
jannah, the ones who inherit firdos,
and in it they will abide forever.
So the four main reasons for a person's
entry into jannah is
belief,
establishing the salah, giving the zakah, being a
source of benefit towards others,
and
to stay away from wrongful activities.
Whereas the 4 main reasons for a person's
entry into jahannam are
disbelief,
not praying,
not giving these aqa'ah,
and engaging in wrongful activities.
So today's exercise is, now that we know
the main reasons for a person's entry into
jahannam,
we need to work on the reasons for
a person's entry into paradise. We need to
strengthen our faith, we need to strengthen our
salah, we need to establish salah, we need
to be a source of benefit towards others,
we need to give our zakah and to
help others who need,
and we need to try our best to
stay away from wrongful activities. If people engage
in them, we stay away from it. We
try our best and we make dua to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to enter us into
Jannah.
May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala strengthen our faith.
May Allah Ta'ala bless us with the best
in this world and the next. Until next
time, Assalamu alaikum, Warahmatullahi,
Warahmatullahi.
