Everyone. What's going on? Hope you guys are
doing well. Welcome to another episode of Simple
Tafsir. In this episode, we'll be looking at
verses 31
to 40 from Surah Al Naba,
and then we'll also look at verses 1
to 14 from Surah Al Nazaat,
those who pull out.
Indeed for those who are mindful of their
Lord by fulfilling His commands and refraining from
the things He is not allowed, there is
a point of success they will succeed on
by achieving the paradise they sought.
Hadahimpawaanaalah
It is full of gardens and grape vines.
Wakawaribaatulawada
And women of similar ages.
Wakawasaadihaapo
And full glasses of wine.
Laismaroonafihalawwalaqidhaba.
In paradise, they will not hear any false
speech nor lies,
neither will they lie to one another.
Jazahamirrabbikaatoanwisaaba.
All that will be from what Allah will
give to them in graciousness
and benevolence,
and it will be sufficient for them.
The benevolent of the world and the afterlife.
No one on earth or in the heavens
is able to question Him except when He
gives them permission.
On the day when Jibril and the angels
will stand in rows,
not speaking to intercede on behalf of anyone
except whom the benevolent, the most merciful grants
them permission to intercede for
and has made a correct statement. The statement
of La ilaha illallah.
Laanikalayum
alhamma'aba.
That which has been described to you is
the day in which there's no doubt regarding
its occurrence.
So whoever wishes salvation on it from the
punishment of Allah,
he should take the path to it through
performing good deeds that will please his Lord.
O people, indeed I have warned you of
an impending punishment,
which will occur on the day when a
person will see what deeds he has sent
forth in the world.
And the disbeliever will say,
wishing safety from the punishment,
'If only I had become dust like the
animals!'
when it is said to them on the
day of judgment, become dust.'
Bismillahir
Rahmanir
Rahimim.
1
naziyahatir
ruhah.
Allah takes an oath on the angels who
pull out the souls of the disbelievers with
severity and harshness.
1
nasihfatinashta
And by the angels who gently remove the
souls of the believers with ease and smoothness.
Wasabihaati
sadduha
And
by the angels who float from the heavens
to the earth by the command of Allah.
Fasabiqaati
sadduqa
And by the angels who compete with one
another to carry out the command of Allah.
Qalmudabirati
amra
And
by the angels who execute the decree of
Allah that he has commanded them to do,
like the angels who are appointed to record
the deeds of the servants.
He takes an oath on all of that,
that he will definitely resurrect them,
to take them into account and reward them
based on what they did.
On the day when the earth will tremble
upon the first blowing of the horn.
The second blow will follow it.
The hearts of the disbelievers and the evil
people will be fearful on that day.
The effects of humiliation will be apparent on
their faces.
They used to say,
'Will we be returned to life after we
have died?'
'Aida
kunna
ri lalaman
nakhira ra ra ra ra ra.' When we
will become decomposed empty bones, will we be
returned then?
They say, 'If we are returned,
then that return will be a huge loss
and the person returning will be defrauded.'
The matter of the resurrection is easy.
It would only be a single scream from
the angel appointed to blow.
Fa'ida hoom
bisahimah
And suddenly everyone will be alive on the
face of the earth after they were dead
within it. So here Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
tells us that it's the people of Taqwa
who succeed.
So we should be asking ourselves,
who are the people of taqwa?
What is taqwa?
What are their qualities?
What made them successful?
What do they do?
What do I need to do? What areas
do I need to work on in order
to be from the muttaqun?
Let's take a quick look at the beginning
of Suratul Baqah.
Allah says,
Aliflamim,
dariqalkitabula
rabbathihoodalal
muttaqeen.
Allah says about the Quran that this is
a book that there is no doubt in
it.
It is guidance,
guides to everything that is good, everything that
a person needs to succeed in this world
and the next,
but the people who benefit from it are
the people of taqwa.
And linguistically, taqwa means to put a barrier
between yourself
and that which you fear.
So in this sense, imagine that there's a
path, and this path is filled with holes,
and thorns, and dangerous things,
And you have no choice but to get
to the other side.
How are you gonna go on this path?
You have to go through it.
We're gonna be extremely mindful on how we
cross this path.
We're gonna avoid everything that is dangerous.
And this is what taqwa is, being mindful
of Allah.
And we take the path that leads toward
goodness,
we avoid these holes, and these thorns, and
these dangerous things so that they don't destroy
us.
And Allah says that the Qur'an is the
guidance for these people. They are the ones
who take advantage of the Qur'an.
And what are their qualities? You know, what
are their actions? What are their beliefs?
So to keep it simple, let's break it
down into 3 categories.
The 3 pillars of the people of Taqwa.
Number 1 is that they believe in the
unseen.
They have faith.
And this is what distinguishes us from the
rest of people.
We believe in Allah and everything that He
told us to believe in, and everything that
the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam told us to
believe in. We believe in all of this.
And faith is something that sets in the
heart, and it comes out in the form
of action.
This is something that needs to be internalized,
not just conceptualized,
but it needs to go in and come
out in the form of action. What kind
of action? There's inward and outward action.
Allah says,
Those who established the salah.
And this is referring to sincerity to Allah,
that everything we do, we do for the
sake of Allah when it comes to worship.
And from the inward actions is tawakkul, relying
on Allah, hoping in Allah, fearing Allah,
depending on Allah.
And also the outward, like salaf, and the
greatest actions is prayer, establishing prayer.
These are the individuals who give the zakat,
they purify themselves.
Sheikh Hassan Ali says
that the success of a believer lies in
being sincere to Allah,
because this is what Yubimmunas Sala means, means
to be sincere towards Allah in everything that
we do.
And many times Allah joins between establishing the
prayer and giving the zakat.
At the end of the day, zakat,
it benefits the people.
So here it means to be sincere towards
Allah and to strive to do good to
people.
So these are the 3 pillars of taqwa,
to have certainty in Allah in everything that
He has told us and everything that the
Messenger salallahu alayhi wa sallam has told us.
Not only that,
to be sincere in our worship
and to strive to do good towards others.
So we look at each of these categories
and rate yourself to see your starting point.
And when it comes to my faith, you
know, how would I rate my
When it comes to my sincerity towards Allah,
how would I rate that On a scale
from 1 to 10.
And when it comes to my striving to
benefit others,
what would I give myself?
And this sets the starting point.
So after this,
we'll commit to one action that we can
take that will improve these areas
so that we can start our journey on
becoming from the people of taqwa.
Because the people who have taqwa,
Allah mentions so many benefits of taqwa in
the Quran. From them is, that the person
who observes taqwa,
We will provide for them from ways they
could never imagine.
And He says that He will make the
things easy for them.
Allah loves the people of Taqwa, He is
with the people of Taqwa.
And there are so many more benefits for
the person who
established Taqwa in their life.
So may Allah make us from the people
of Taqwa,
and may he make it easy for us
to do the good deeds and keep us
away from the bad deeds.
Until next
time.
