Saif Morad – Simple Tafsir, Episode 0 Introduction

Assalamu alaikum, everyone. What's going on? May Allah

bless you guys with the best of this

world and the next.

I'm your brother in Islam, Syed Murad, and

I'm excited to share with you the launch

of a new podcast called Simple Tafsir,

where the goal is to transform our lives

by living the message of the Quran.

In this podcast, we'll go over a simple

explanation of the Quran based on the book,

Al Muhtasarfi Tafsiril Quranil Kirim,

which has been translated into the English language

as well called a brief explanation of the

glorious Quran.

This podcast is for everyone who wishes to

understand the message of the Quran

because sometimes we don't get the entire picture

by just reading the translation.

Ultimately, the goal of this podcast is for

us to understand

the message of the Quran,

to reflect over it, and to implement its

teachings in our lives.

And this is how transformation occurs,

when its teachings are internalized

and comes out in our behavior.

So I hope to utilize a coaching approach

in this podcast.

So firstly, each episode we'll try to go

over one page of the Quran with a

brief explanation

so that the meanings are clear.

Secondly,

we'll look at one of the verses or

a certain topic. We'll explore it at a

deeper level for us to reflect over.

Allah tells us in the Quran,

that a book that we have sent down

to you that is blessed,

so that they may contemplate its verses and

people of reason may be mindful.

And this is why the Quran was revealed

to us so that we may understand it,

reflect over its verses, and act upon its

teachings.

And finally, we'll end with something that is

practical so that we can go out

and implement the teachings of the Quran in

our lives.

1 of the companions named Khabab,

he told a man that draw closer to

Allah

as much as you can,

But know that you will not approach him

with anything that is dear to him than

his words, meaning his book.

Allah

tells us about the Quran.

We have sent down to you a book.

In it is honor and respect for you.

Will you not understand?

You know, Allah is telling us that in

this book

is honor for us, status, the best of

both worlds, happiness.

He describes the Quran

as guidance, mercy,

a book that gives glad tidings.

It's secure.

You know, and isn't this something that we

all want? Don't we want happiness, respect, honor,

a good life?

And Allah has promised us these things in

the Quran.

So the question comes here,

that will you not pay attention? Will you

not understand

what is beneficial for you and what harms

you?

Will you not strive to adhere to its

teachings?

Because at the end of the day,

if we implement the teachings of the Quran,

we are the ones who benefit.

The benefit comes back to us.

And Allah

says in another Surah that, wa inna hoo

laddikul lakawalikaawalikaawmika

wasa'u fatus'aloon.

That indeed the Quran is a book of

honor and respect for you and for your

people.

And then he says,

that you will be asked regarding it.

So on yomul qiyama, we'll be standing in

front of Allah

being asked about the Quran.

What was our relationship with the Quran like?

Did we adhere to its teachings?

Were we grateful for this book?

So let's try to learn the Quran and

implement its teachings

so that when we stand in front of

Allah,

we can say that we tried our best

to learn and implement the teachings of the

Quran.

May Allah make us amongst the people of

the Quran, those who study his book, understand

it, reflect upon it, and act upon his

teachings.
