Bismillah.
Alhamdulilah.
Assalatu wassalamu ala Rasoolillah.
Welcome brothers and sisters back into our weekly
program.
Tafseer, we're still with Surat Al-Baqarah, Surat
Al-Barakah, Al-Baqarah, Al-Barakah.
This Surah filled with blessings from Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
This Surah, if it was to be recited
in your homes, as the Prophet says, every
three days it should be recited.
No jinn, I think, can approach that home.
This Surah, which is the greatest Surah in
the Qur'an, which also contains the greatest
Ayah in the Qur'an, Ayatul Qudsi.
And last week we talked about the Ayah,
and we left off at the Ayah, we
call it the Tawheed The Ayah that came
before it talks about those who die in
the state of non-belief.
Those who die in the state of non
-belief, They will have the curse from Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
The curse from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
and the curse from the angels and from
all what Allah has created.
Ash-Shirk, what is Ash-Shirk?
Is when you associate someone with the worship
of Allah, that's what we call Shirk.
Associating someone with the worship of Allah Azza
wa Jal.
And last week we mentioned the fact that
people with sound intellect, Al-Aqudus Salima, Tankhil
wujud alihatan ukhra ma'Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala.
People with sound intellect, they will reject the
fact that there will be another god other
than Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
But this is only applicable for people with
sound brain, sound intellect.
Someone with a sound mind, he will reject
the fact that there is something, That there
is some god other than Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
As Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, Walaw
kana feehi maa alihata illa Allaha lafasadata.
In this universe, if there was other god
other than Allah, The whole universe will be
fasad, will be corrupted, will be spoiled.
And even the jasad, even the body of
a person, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,
Ma ja'al allahu dhajrin min qalbain fee
jawfi.
Which means that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
does not place two hearts in any person's
chest.
We only have one heart, we cannot have
two hearts.
If there were two hearts, again the body
will get corrupted.
One heart will want to do something, the
other heart will want to do another.
One heart will love, the other heart will
want to hate, and so on and so
forth.
So every person has only one heart.
With the hikmah of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala.
And also in the family, Subhanallah, maybe some
of you took it as a joke, but
it wasn't.
Because when a man is married to a
woman, She cannot have two husbands at the
same time, can she?
Why are you all quiet all of a
sudden?
No, mafeesh.
You know, this one woman to one husband,
you know, she cannot.
Otherwise, how can she live with two husbands?
It can happen, Subhanallah, one would want to
do something, the other one would say halal,
the other one would say haram, and whatnot.
That is how it is.
Allah Azawajal has made certain things as from
His hikmah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Didalika, anybody who associates someone with the worship
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, fahuwa la
yaqla lah.
We can't say like la yaqla lah.
He may have a brain, but la yaqla.
Which means he does not use that brain
to think right.
Didalika Allah Azawajal qala feehim, summun bukmun umyun
fahum la yaqlun.
Allah talked about these people.
He says, summun bukmun.
They are deaf, and they are dumb, and
they are bukmun, and they are blind, fahum
la yaqlun.
You know, they have brains, but they cannot,
you know, contemplate with.
They have minds, they cannot think with.
La yaqlun.
So people, mashallah, they reach the stars, or
maybe the moon.
I should say that, not the stars, the
moon.
Yet, Subhanallah, la yaqlun.
Fah, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala an'ama
ala hadha al-insan bi thalat ashyat.
Please remember this.
Allah Azawajal has blessed us with many blessings,
but mainly or namely three.
From the Quran, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
says, wallahu akhrajakum min butooni ummahatikum la ta
'lamoona shay'a waj'ala lakumus sama'a
wal abusa'a wal af'ida la'allakum
ta'qiloon, or tantaqoon.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, He says, akhrajakum
min butooni ummahatikum Allah Azawajal has brought you
up from the womb of your mother.
la ta'lamoona shay'a When you were
babies, when you came up from the womb
of your mother, you did not know anything.
You did not know water, from vegetables, from
mom, from dad, from boy, from girl, from
wife, from blood.
You did not know anything.
waj'ala lakum And Allah Azawajal has blessed
you with what?
With as-sama'a, with al-afsa'a,
with al-af'ida.
That Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala gave you
hearing, gave you sight, and gave you hearts.
Why He gave you and I hearing?
Why?
arsala ilaykum al-husul li tasma'u kalam
Allah wa arsala ilaykum waj'ala lakum al
-ayun li tabsuru ayati Allah Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala has given us this hearing so
that we can hear, you know, from what
the Prophet has said, what we can hear
in the Qur'an, what we know, what
we can hear, the ayat of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
Allah Azawajal has blessed us with sight, so
that we can see the miracles of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in this universe.
Just like a boy who comes to his
dad, and he says, Dad, I want another
dad.
How can that happen?
You only have one dad.
No, I want another dad.
How can that happen?
This is what shirk is.
The dad who worked so hard for you,
the dad and the mom who brought you
to this life, right?
And then you say, and they fed you,
and supported you, and raised you, and you
say, I need another dad and another mom.
wa li'l-al-matal ahla Allah Azawajal
who gave you and I, who created you
and I, Allah Azawajal who blessed you and
I, who sustained you and I, and then
someone will come and say, I want to
worship another god other than Allah.
Do you understand?
This is what shirk is.
qara lahu sahibuhu wa huwa yuhamiluhu akafarta billali
khalaqaka min turabi thumma min nutfati thumma sawaka
rajula akafarta You know, the story of these
two men, and then the Prophet and this
other, you know, and another man who, who
wanted to take someone other than Allah Azawajal
as nidd, as a god.
And then he says, how can you, you
know, take another god other than Allah?
wa huwa khalaq, billali khalaq, this is the
one who created you.
min turabi, from dust, then he made you
into nutfah, then alaqa, and then he sawaka
rajula, and then he made you a human
being.
You were nothing.
This man that you want to worship, or
this idol that you want to worship, did
it create you?
No, it did not create you.
So who created you?
It's Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So al-aql, al-aql yadullu annahu la
ilaha illallah wa al-kawn kulluhu yadullu annahu
la ilaha illallah So this brain that Allah
Azawajal, this intellect that Allah Azawajal has blessed
you with, should indicate to you that there
is no god worthy of worship but Allah,
if you were to use it right.
This kawn that you and I live in,
also should indicate to you that there is
no god worthy of worship but Allah, that
there is no la ilaha illallah wa fee
anfusikum afala tubsiroon Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
says.
And in yourself, can't you see, can't you
contemplate?
Just you and yourself, when you look at
yourself in the mirror, the eyes where they
are, and the eyebrows exactly where you should
be, the ears where they are, the nose
where it is, the mouth where it is,
the hair, everything that Allah Azawajal has created
you subhanahu wa ta'ala wa fee anfusikum
the hands and how they move, the fingers
and how they move, the feet, wa fee
anfusikum afala tubsiroon In yourselves, can't you see?
You are an American walking on earth.
So how can you leave Allah and worship
someone else?
subhanahu wa ta'ala So this ayah, wa
ilaahukum ilaahum wahid gathered the tawheed, the lordship
of Allah, and the worship of Allah, and
the asmaa and sifaa, because tawheed brothers and
sisters is of three categories.
We call it tawheed al-rububiyah, tawheed al
-uluhiyah, and tawheed asmaa and sifaa.
There's three types of tawheed.
The first type of tawheed is tawheed of
the lordship of Allah, al-rububiyah.
al-rububiyah means there's only one Allah.
He's the creator.
He's the sustainer.
He's the provider.
By the way, even Quraish, they used to
believe this.
Quraish, at the time of the Prophet, they
did believe that Allah is the creator.
But they had a problem.
They had a problem with tawheed al-uluhiyah,
which is the second type of tawheed, the
tawheed of worship, that when you worship, you
worship Him alone.
When you seek help, you seek help from
Him alone.
When you supplicate, you supplicate to Him alone.
Quraish didn't like this.
What did they do?
They used their idols to get them closer
to Allah.
And the third type of tawheed is tawheed
of the names of Allah and His attributes,
the believing of the names of Allah in
the names of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
without, without likening the names of Allah azawajal
to anything, without distorting the names of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, without representing the names
of Allah with something else, and without taqif,
ya'ani, mughayli tahalifin, aw tamthilin, aw tashbihin,
aw tahalif, aw tamthil.
So we believe in Allah in the names
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala without likening
His names to anything else.
We don't say, the name of Allah Al
-Hameed is like this.
No, Al-Hameed is Al-Hameed.
You believe in it as is.
As-Samee' is As-Samee' You believe in
As-Samee' as is.
You don't say, He hears, but He doesn't
hear like us.
He hears in a way that because His
majesty.
We don't interpret the names of Allah.
We don't liken the name of Allah to
something else.
We don't distort the name of Allah with
something else.
When Allah Azawajal says, He has hands, Yadullah.
Allah Azawajal says, Yadullah.
Some said, no, it means the rahma of
Allah.
You see what you did now?
You distorted the name of Allah to something
else.
No, as Muslims from Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah,
we believe in the name of Allah as
they are.
Allah has hands, for instance, is one of
the attributes of Allah Azawajal.
No, Allah has hands.
He has hands that befits His majesty.
How?
We don't ask how.
Allah sees, He sees in a way that
befits Him.
How?
We don't ask how.
So this ayah talks about this in general.
وَإِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّهُ But those
who take others other than Allah as إِلَهٌ
وَاحِدٌ لَا إِلَهُ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ They wronged themselves.
وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَكِنْ كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ Allah says,
We did not wrong them, but they wronged
themselves.
Yes, you wronged yourself.
You did dhulm to yourself by worshipping someone
other than Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And then He says, هو الرحمن الرحيم لا
إله إلا هو الرحمن the most compassionate, the
most merciful Subhanahu wa ta'ala لا إله
إلا هو He did not, He ordered you
to pray, we prayed, but He did not
burden you with something more than that you
can bear.
You go for hajj if you can.
If you cannot, you don't have to go
for hajj.
You pay zakah if you're financially able.
If you're not financially able, that means you're
poor, that means there's no zakah on you.
Right?
So Allah Azza wa Jalla did not bear,
make you bear more than you can or
make a burden on you more than you
can bear Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So He is الرحمن and He is الرحيم
Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
ما جعليكم في الدين من حرش Allah Azza
wa Jalla does not overburden us with things
that we cannot bear.
لا يكلف الله نفسه إلا وسعاه Even when,
you know, drinking khamah for instance.
Allah has made it prohibited.
Wine, right?
Alcohol.
Allah has made it prohibited.
But in certain circumstances or situations, Allah has
made it permissible.
Just like pork.
Pork.
Allah Azza wa Jalla has prohibited.
But in certain situations, Allah Azza wa Jalla
has made it permissible.
Right?
In terms of life and death matters.
You know, you're dying and you need to
eat.
But you need to eat just to survive.
Not to fill your belly, just to survive.
And the only meal that's there is pork.
You get to eat it.
Wine.
Same thing, you're dying.
خلاص, you're dying.
And there's no water.
The only water that's there is wine.
Yes, you can drink.
Rahman, Rahim.
Allah Azza wa Jalla says, هو الرحمن الرحيم.
And then Allah Azza wa Jalla talks about
this ayah.
The ayah of ni'mat.
And the ayah of signs.
The ayah of ayat.
First he starts with, إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالْأَرْضِ First, ponder and contemplate.
إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ The ayat brothers,
this ayat, talks really about also the Rahman
of Allah.
First, Allah talks about the creation of the
heavens.
He mentions السَّمَاوَاتِ إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
First, he started with the heavens.
And then the earth.
You will understand why.
Nothing is just in vain.
Nothing in the Qur'an is just like
that.
No.
Everything is because it's kalamullah.
So Allah Azza, this is the kalamullah.
He could have said the earth before the
heaven.
No, there's a reason as to why Allah
Azza wa Jalla mentions the heavens before the
earth.
إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِدَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ
Let's talk about خَلْقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ What is if
the سَمَا was not there?
Have you thought about it?
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up.
I'm almost done.
Let's wake up.
The one who understands, whoever he understands.
If the سَمَا was not there, if there
was no heaven, if there was no سَمَا,
have you ever thought about this?
There would be no day, no night.
Because there would be no sun.
So imagine there would be no stars if
there is no heaven.
There is no سَمَا, no sky.
No نور.
You will be in constant darkness.
Imagine.
Allah has put this سَمَا for a reason.
وَزَيِّنَّا السَّمَاءَ بِمَصَابِيحٍ And then we adorned the
سَمَا, the lowest heaven.
We adorned it with مصابيح, مصباح.
With stars like lamps, مصباح.
مصباح is like lantern, right?
But مصابيح with the stars.
And each has a mandate or a duty.
Some sort of duty Allah Azawajal has given
to them.
المصابيح, the greatest مصباح or the greatest star
would be the sun.
The moon after that.
And this was the rahmah of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
النجوم, the stars, why?
استدروا بها على الجهات.
If there was no stars long time ago,
when we had no GPS long time ago,
people didn't have no GPS.
How did they know the south from the
north, from the east, from the west?
The people, علماء الفلك, the astrologers at the
time, they knew it by looking at the
stars.
When they are in the middle of the
ocean.
How would they know when they get lost?
Looking at the stars.
Or because of the sun, they would know
their direction.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that in
the Qur'an.
He says that in the Qur'an.
And then السماء also provides to the سماء,
this مطر.
مطر means rain, رحمة.
I'm only talking about if the sky was
not there.
No sun, no moon, no stars.
You won't get lost, you won't know your
directions.
You won't know what day you are in,
what month you are in.
You don't know anything.
It's total darkness.
Have you thought of those people who live
in the north pole, when like 6 months
or what not, it's during the winter, it's
all night.
And during the summer, it's all day.
سبحان الله, I can't live like that, I
can't.
How can you live like that?
24.
No, the sun comes up for like maybe
less than an hour or so, in and
out.
But throughout the day, it's all night.
And then how do you do your Fajr
and your Dhuhr and your Asr and your
Maghrib and your Isha?
سبحان الله, this is how it is.
And then during the summer, it's the opposite.
It's all day.
So people when they sleep, how can they
sleep?
Hey, cover the windows.
القمر, the moon.
How do you say قمر in Urdu?
Reminds you if you were to see it
or it should remind you or should make
you think of Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad one day, he looked at
the bright full moon and the Sahaba there.
You see that bright full moon, he told
them.
He says, one day in Jannah, you shall
see the face of Allah just like you
see that bright full moon.
You have any doubt?
He said, no, that's the full moon right
there.
He says, you shall see the face of
Allah just like you see that full moon.
القمر, makes you think of Allah.
الشمس, the sun, makes you think of يوم
القيامة, maybe.
When Allah says, When the sun will turn
into like a ball, it will come on
the day of judgment and it will be
thrown into hellfire.
Even sun will be thrown into hellfire.
Hadith is in Bukhari.
What did the Prophet say with regard to
the sun?
The sun set and the sun rise.
It goes until it goes down to the
throne of Allah.
It makes sujood.
The sun through your eye goes round.
But it does go and it makes sujood
to Allah.
And then Allah will tell her, stand up
and rise.
And then it will rise from the other
side.
It's going back between the sun and the
west and east.
Then it goes and makes sujood.
And then Allah will tell her, rise.
And then it rises.
And then it rises from the other end.
And then sets again.
And then back and forth.
Shams.
It's a creation of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala.
And this samawat.
Samawat is the bloomer of sana which is
the skies.
Have you ever thought of what it's made
of?
You see it's beautiful.
It's blue.
But what is it made of?
Dukhan.
Dukhan means smoke.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى
إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ And then He turned
to the heavens as they were smoke.
وَقَالَ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلْأَرْضِ إِتِيَا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهَا
قَالَتَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ And then He turned to
the sky.
And He turned to the sky and to
the earth.
Submit.
Submit to Allah.
Willingly or unwillingly.
Choose.
Submit.
لا إله إلا الله.
They say we submit willingly.
We are creation of you.
You created us.
Even the sun and the qamar and the
earth and the heavens, they submit to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Why man does not want to submit?
Hmm?
Why?
سَبْعَ سَمَوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا You know the surah, surah
al-mulk.
سَبْعَ Seven skies.
سَبْعَ سَمَوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا One on top of the
other.
طِبَاقًا لا تَرَى في خَلْقَ الرَّحْمَانِ من تَفَارِّز
فَالْجِعِي الْمَصَرَةِ فَالْتَرَى بِالْفُتُورِ Just look at it.
Look at the creations of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
And then al-ard.
Okay.
سَمَوَاتٍ and then al-ard.
Al-ard means the earth.
This al-ard, you know, just so you
know.
This al-ard, this earth كانت زَبد فوق
الماء This al-ard, this earth used to
be like some sort of foam on the
surface of water.
And you know how it was before?
The summit was or the earth was not
stable.
It was tilting.
It wasn't stable, subhanAllah.
Allah Azza wa Jalla made it stable.
And then he created what?
He created mountains to make the earth stable.
If there was no mountains, the earth will
be waving, right?
And all like swaying, swaying.
It will throw you where?
Into the oceans.
Swaying, you can't.
It's not stable.
You can't stand.
Imagine you're always like swaying.
Allah Azza wa Jalla, He creates subhanAllah.
So lamma khalaqat jibal thabbata biha al-ard.
So He created these mountains, subhanAllah wa ta
'ala, to stabilize the earth.
This is why Allah Azza wa Jalla says,
inna khi khalqis sama'awatu al-ard.
First is the sama'a, and then is
the ard.
wa ikhtilaf al-layl wa al-nahar.
And then He talked about ikhtilaf al-layl
wa al-nahar.
After He talked about the sun, the sama
'a, and then al-ard.
And then He talked about the alternation between
night and day.
Even that is a sign from Allah subhana
wa ta'ala.
ikhtilaf al-layl wa al-nahar.
I just mentioned, if there were always day,
there was no night.
Or if there was only night and there
was no day.
But there has to be this alternation between
nahar and between layl.
Between night and between day.
This is from the creations and the signs
of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
Who says, ja'ala lakum al-ard fi
raasha.
You know this youth, this is why some
of our youngsters, they are always, they can't
concentrate.
Lack of sleep.
They can't focus.
They go to school, they are sleepy.
Why?
And even people who, there are some people
who work graveyard.
Like you know graveyard, they work night and
they go to sleep during the day.
Allah has made the day for you and
I to rest.
wa ja'ala lakum al-ard fi raasha
wa al-sama'a bina'a.
So this Allah has made for you and
I, you know this nahar.
For instance, al-nahar in surat al-'amma yata
sa'aloon.
al-nabai al-'azim aladhi hum fee mukhtariboon.
kal nasi alamuna thumma kal nasi alamuna.
alamna ja'ala al-ardha mihaada.
waljibara awtaada.
wa khalaqna'akum azwaaja.
wa ja'ala nawmakum subaata.
wa ja'ala al-layla.
wa ja'ala al-nahara ma'asha.
wa ja'ala al-layla.
So this layl, libas.
What is libas?
A garment.
Put your garments, put your pyjamas and go
to sleep.
wa al-nahar ma'asha.
Al-nahar means day, ma'asha, go and
seek, seek rizq.
But they flipped it.
Scientists and scholars in this field they say,
even if you were to sleep during the
day more than 8 hours a day, it
will not represent not even an hour of
sleeping at night.
Especially if you were to go to sleep
before midnight.
After midnight you could sleep whatever, it's never
going to be the same.
Subhanallah.
So now some of our youngsters or people
who are on their phones until 1, 2,
3 o'clock in the morning, number one,
they can't get up for fajr.
And then when they wake up in the
morning, they all swear and they are like,
I don't know, because that's not enough sleep.
Even if you sleep, whatever you sleep, you
feel, those of you who may, you know,
know people who do it or maybe you're
doing it, you get up and then you
feel tired.
You're tired.
Why?
Allah has made the night to rest and
the day to seek rizq.
But we've flipped it.
So Allah says here, وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ The
alternation between the day and the night.
How can you ignore and reject these ni'ma
of Allah, these blessings of Allah?
By the way, we have three things here.
There's a difference between ni'ma, a'la, ayat.
Ni'ma from ni'ma, from blessings, from favours.
We have a'la, فَبِأَيِّ أَلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا
فَبِأَيِّ أَلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَا You know, there's a
difference between ni'ma and a'la.
The first is ni'ma.
Ni'ma or blessings.
نِعْمَا مَا خَصَّكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْتُ مِنْ نِعْمٍ
Ni'ma is something that Allah Azza wa Jalla
has has blessed you with.
Such as the hearing, particularly for you.
Such as seeing, particularly for you.
It's ni'ma.
Such as your hands, your heart.
This is a ni'ma from Allah.
Your wife, your husband, your children.
Ni'ma from Allah Azza wa Jalla.
So this is ni'ma.
But a'la...
No, it's different.
It's different.
A'la is brother.
Brother than ni'ma.
أَوْسَحْ مِنَ النِّعْمِ وَأَعْضَمْ مِنَ النِّعْمِ فِبِأَيِّ آلَٰهِ
رَبِّكُمْ مَا تُكَذِّبَ is something that Allah Azza
wa Jalla has blessed you with and blessed
others with as well.
Not just you.
You and others.
You may say, what's sim'a?
But this is something that maybe you're married,
right?
You have children.
Somebody else cannot get children.
So you have this ni'ma which is attributed
to you but maybe it's not applicable to
others.
But a'la is something to you and
to others.
And it's something brother.
Whereas ayat.
Ayat is also very different.
Ayat are signs.
The shams is sign.
The qamar is sign.
This earth is sign of Allah Azza wa
Jalla.
This is why this ayat is even brother
than a'la.
So you have ni'ma, a'la, and ayat.
Ayat is even brother and greater than ni'ma
of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
And ni'ma, you can see it.
Ni'ma, you can see it.
A'la, you can see and sometimes you
cannot see it.
It's a'la of Allah Azza wa Jalla.
There's certain things you can see and some
others you cannot.
Ayat, you can see it and some you
cannot as well.
Just like I can't see the sun.
Can you see the air?
No, you cannot see the air.
Can you live without breathing?
No, you cannot live without breathing.
This is a'yat of Allah Subhanahu wa
Ta'ala.
And then Allah Azza wa Jalla said to
his prophet in surat al-Isra, Subhanalladhi asra
bi abdihi layla Insha'Allah another five minutes.
Subhanalladhi asra bi abdihi layla minal majidil harami
ilal majidil aqsa minuniyahu min ayatina.
Praise be to him, Allah Azza wa Jalla.
Alladhi asra, you know that ascending for his
prophet from majidil harami to majidil aqsa.
Why?
Minuniyahu so that we can show him some
of our ayat.
He didn't say nahmatu ala ayat min ayatina
al basir, subhanahu wa ta'ala.
laqad la'a min ayati rabbihi al kubra.
Allah says he saw from the ayat of
Allah Azza wa Jalla the greatest ayat of
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
He saw the Jannah.
You and I, Jannah is ayat min ayati
Allah but we cannot see it.
We heard of it, we believe in it.
Jannah, he saw the angels.
He saw an-nar, prophet Muhammad Azza wa
Jalla.
These are ayat.
Or we may say alamat.
Alamat, signs.
Ad-dalla ala qudati Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala.
You know these ayat that actually manifest perhaps
the power of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says inna
fee khalqis samaa wakhtidhaa fee alayhi wa nara.
He mentions ten ayat.
Ten ayat, the alternation of the and then
la'ayati alli qawmin again one more time,
yaqilun.
Oh, if you can give me only a
few minutes because this is amazing.
La'ayati, wake up because I'm done so
just give this piece, give this piece.
La'ayati alli qawmin yaqilun.
Ayat for people with sound intellect.
Why?
Sound intellect.
Al-aqil yatafakal fee halihil makhluqat.
The aqil, the one with this intellect sound,
he will ponder and contemplate on the signs
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
You see and you look at the sun,
the sun setting.
It was there although suddenly it's there.
How did it move from here to there?
Because the earth now the signs tell us
that it is actually the earth that is
rotating, not the sun.
And then you see these birds and then
you see, you know subhanallah in Syria this
lady who was in jail, she was telling
the story of her son that was born
in jail and he's crying, one day crying
and then subhanallah the officer outside says, you
know what he's crying, he felt a little
bit he says let me tell him a
story, maybe if I tell him a story
he will stop crying.
So he says once upon a time there
was a bird and then the boy says,
what's a bird?
It's a bird, you know it's like this
bird that flies and lands on a tree.
He says, what's a tree?
I haven't seen the bird, I haven't seen
the tree, it's like three or four years
in jail.
He didn't see the signs of Allah.
These are signs.
The officer started crying, he says he couldn't
finish this story.
We see these alamat, why I'm saying this?
You see them but do you contemplate, you
see this how, then I'm gonna come back
to then how can you worship someone other
than Allah?
These people who are so smart, so smart
that they have actually reached the moon and
some of them claim that they have walked
on the moon.
Claimed, because Allah knows, controversy or not controversy
they said or they claim that they have
walked on the moon.
So for you to reach mashaAllah, you know
that stage, this mashaAllah, this magnitude in terms
of ilm, you must be really smart, right?
These people who are but you're so smart
yet you're not smart.
You're so smart when you, when you are
on that rocket leaving the earth.
As one time the first Russian astronaut, when
he left, the time was Russia was governed
by you know no, no, they were there
was no religion, right?
Shia Shia in Africa what it's called, you
know, just Shia people who don't believe in
the existence of God, right?
This is what the Communism Zalim al-Khair
So which means you know that for them
one of the creeds is that there's no
God.
So this man who's the very first one
who flew, you know took this rocket and
then boarded the rocket to go to the
moon and then he looked back and then
he saw this earth right?
This earth like round floating in the air.
Russia and how huge and America and how
big it is and all these countries and
all like we're sitting here then he looked
up from there from the window for his
rocket and he looked at it this earth
is floating in nowhere then he says there
must be God.
There must be God.
Who's holding this earth?
Who's holding the skies from falling?
Have you ever thought if the sky if
Allah wasn't holding it it's gonna fall on
you, crushes you, crushes the whole earth.
So the NASA and whoever flies to the
moon and what not despite seeing and those
are the people who see the ayat of
Allah more than you and I because they
fly, right?
They go and they see this more than
you and I you just see it let's
say on TV but those guys are there,
right?
And then they still cannot believe in Allah.
On the day of judgment they would say
they would say Didn't you hear?
If we were to hear and comprehend we
would not be in hellfire.
How can you not be?
How can you claim that you're not comprehending?
You know you reach the moon.
Not anybody can reach the moon.
Doctors, surgeons, man, who perform surgeries, heart surgeries
every day, brain surgeries, they open the skull
and they see things.
Ayat.
And you still don't believe?
So you know why?
They would say on that day Yeah because
we're after money and our family.
We couldn't really prove the truth.
It's clear but we're busy with all this.
Huh?
Exactly, exactly.
Wake up.
You have all these ayat of Allah Azza
wa Jalla but you afraid of the Qawm.
And this is why Allah Azza wa Jalla
has mentioned first As-Sama' then Al-Ard.
Sama' first.
Al-Ard next.
Your body is from what?
Water.
Dust.
Initially was from clay.
Clay is from earth.
Your ruh is from what?
Heavens.
Which is better?
Your body or the soul?
Soul.
Soul comes from Sama' another reason why Allah
Azza wa Jalla mentions As-Sama' and then
the earth.
Khair comes from where?
Yes, Al-Ard.
You know, Al-Ard, the earth.
You know, we have pastures and we have
plants and we have springs but if it
was not for the Sama' and the rain
وَخَلَقْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
حَيْنٌ And made from water everything alive.
So again, everything in the Qur'an is
meticulously put exactly where it's supposed to be.
Allah mentions As-Sama' first and then the
earth next because of the Subhanallah, the distinction
between the earth and the sky.
Sky is Uloom.
Earth is Akhira.
Akhira is high.
Dunya, low.
Allah, Allah, Allah.
Dunya, Dana, even in Arabic Dana, Dana means
coming down, coming close.
Akhira, Akhira, high.
Something high.
So you and I should seek that which
is high versus that which is low.
And I'm going to end here.
Because I want to talk more about the
ayah.
And then right after this ayah, Allah will
talk about love.
After all this, Allah talks about love.
Why?
What kind of love?
The love of Allah.
When Allah says
Meaning, others as need to Allah, like
God to Allah, they love them as they
love Allah.
And there, we will talk about something that
may affect you.
Because you may say, no, I love Allah
more.
Maybe I can prove to you that maybe
sometimes you love your children more.
Maybe sometimes you love your wife more.
Allah has told us to love our families.
But sometimes we love our families more.
When?
When you do haram you love for the
sake of your family.
Don't you love your family more than Allah?
You see?
This is why I'm going to touch on
certain points or triggers that may hurt.
So please don't be sad next week.
In fact, next week I won't be available,
inshaAllah.
Next week I will go for Umrah, bi
-idhnillah.
So I will take two weeks off, bi
-idhnillah.
And I'll come back on January 5th.
So from the 25th until January 5th, I
will be away, inshaAllah.
That will, I think, make two Wednesdays, I
think.
Two Wednesdays, inshaAllah.
In fact, the Umrah is only for 10
days.
But it looks like, you know, two weeks.
So then I will come back bi-idhnillah,
bi-idhnillah.
And carry on this ayat and talk about
love of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And how to earn the hubb of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Do I have any questions, comments from online?
How are they doing, people online?
We have a T, by the way, so
don't go to the English version.
So this is a scientific question, right?
Is it round or flat?
Or flat, right?
Is that what it is?
What does the Quran say?
We used to think that the earth was
round, right?
We used to eat.
We used to eat.
But in fact, it's like an egg.
And some said that it is, you know,
kind of flat.
Is it?
What is it?
A round egg?
It's like an egg, but it's not round.
It's like a circle.
It's like an egg.
Any comments?
You were talking about the roof.
That's why our body remains here.
Look, look, look, another thing.
Because when you die, the body remains on
earth.
But it is only the thing that doesn't
die, subhanAllah, is the ruh.
The soul goes up.
The soul doesn't die.
In fact, there are eight things that don't
die.
There are eight things don't die.
They never die.
But Allah says, Everybody in the universe shall
perish except eight things.
What are they?
No.
That's my cliffhanger for next time.
I mentioned one, which is the ruh.
Seven when I come back.
Give us one more.
The pen.
Al-Qalam.
Al-Ars.
Three.
Okay, khalas, man.
Five.
Two weeks.
JazakAllah khair.
Please, please join me for some shaykh.
