You know Allah Azza wa Jal is mentioning
our names right now in the angels.

Wa Ta'ala.
And the Qur'an is Kalam Allah.
And we're still with Surah Al-Baqarah and
we're still with the ayah that talked about,
it's a very powerful ayah, that talked about
the merits of As-Sabireen.
And you will understand Insha'Allah Ta'ala
today as to why Allah Azza wa Jal
talked about Sabr with regard to As-Safa
wa Al-Marwah.
So, وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ We talked about this ayah last
week or two weeks ago.
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ And We shall trial you with a
touch.
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ We shall trial you with a
touch.
شَيْء يعني something, something small.
Otherwise, it would be الأُمَّة الخائفين الجائعين.
وَلَكِنْ قَالْنَا بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ But We
said, with a touch of fear and hunger.
Just with a touch of fear and hunger.
بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصِ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنفُسِ
وَالْثَمَرَاتِ And a loss of lives, businesses and
properties.
But give glad tidings to the صَابِرِين.
Those whom whenever afflicted by some trial, they
say إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَجِعُونَ.
And this particular ayah, when they say إِنَّا
لِلَّهِ Look, عجيب والله this just came up
to my mind right now.
The person who is going to the trouble
or the trial هَدَى الْأَصَبَةُ مُصِيبًا مَا قَالْ
إِنِّي لِلَّهِ وَإِنِّي إِلَيْهِ رَجِعُونَ إِنَّا We are.
He didn't say I.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ إِنِّي لِلَّهِ I belong to Allah.
And to Allah we belong.
He says إِنِّي No, he didn't say إِنِّي
He made a dua for all.
It's a communal dua.
This ummah is a communal ummah.
Especially when you hear something happening in Palestine.
Or something in Lebanon right now, or Sham.
Or whatever the hardship is upon the Muslims.

Yet when we see a مصيبة what do
you say?
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنِّي إِلَيْهِ رَجِعُونَ We feel as
the Prophet Muhammad like this body.
When one organ feels pain, the entire body
suffers from that pain.
So this is how the ummah is.
قالوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ To Allah we belong and
to Him we shall return.
فَهَدِهِ الْأُمَّةِ كَمَا قُلْنَكَ الْجَسَدِ الْوَاعِدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى
مِنْهُ عُضُو تَدَاعَ لَهُ الْجَسَدُ بِالسَّهْرِ وَالْحُمَّةِ You
see an example of when you have an
injury, or may Allah forbid a wounded toe.
It's not just the toe that hurts.
The entire body hurts.
When you have a fever, the entire body
feels the fever.
Not just the toe.
This is how we are as an ummah.
And how we should be in fact.

رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَى وَسَلَامُ فَإِذَا أَصَبَتْنَا الْمُصِيبَةَ أو
أَصَبَتْ الْمُصِيبَةَ الْوَاحِدَ الجَمِيعْ يَقُولْ إِنَّا لِلَّهُ وَإِنَّا
إِلَيْهِ رَجِعُونَ Then Allah Azza wa Jalla says

البَعِيد normally, right?
هَٓا أُولَٰئِي Instead of this هَٓا أُولَٰئُ Before
those who are close But أُولَٰئِكَ Those أُولَٰئِكَ
عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُوا المُفْلِحُون Or
المُهْتَدُون المُهْتَدُون المُهْتَدُون Upon them Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la says They are the
ones who will receive Allah's blessings And Allah's
mercy أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ صَلَوَاتٌ You see in
Arabic when you say صَلَاة صَلَاة is like
a صَلَاة that we prayed But also صَلَاة
has another meaning When the Prophet Muhammad When
Allah Azza wa Jalla told Prophet Muhammad خُذْ
مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةٌ تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّهِمْ بِهَا وَصَلِّ
عَلَيْهِمْ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ You see صَلِّ it's not
like صُلُح صَلِّ اُدْعُوا لَهُمْ Take from them
O Muhammad صَدَقَة Charity from the Sahaba To
purify them To raise them ranks in Jannah
وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلِّ it's not like you know
No صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ means here Supplicate for them
Invoke Allah Azza wa Jalla for them يعني
الصَّلَة هنا بمعنى الدعاء أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِنَ
اللَّهِ Those upon them Have صَلَوَات Not only
one صَلَوَات Blessings Not just one blessings This
is why the Prophet Muhammad عَلَيْهِمْ Whenever he
used to cross Or come Walk by مَقْبَرَ
مَقْبَرَ A graveyard He would say the دُعَاء
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ دِيَارِ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ السَّلَامُ
عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ دِيَارِ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِنَّا أَنشَاءَ اللَّهُ
بِكُمْ لَحِقُونَ نَسَىٰ اللَّه لَنَا وَلَكُمُ InshaAllah
we shall join you one day.

or whoever, can you guarantee that you're going
to live forever?
If somebody was going to live forever, could
have been a Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who was

Do you want to live forever and go
to Jannah or do you want to die
and go to Jannah?
He says, I choose to meet my Lord.
I choose to meet my Lord ﷺ.
So inshaAllah we shall join you one day.
And then Allah ﷻ told or He tells
these, those who are going through, you know,
patience.
Those who endure al-masa'id, you know,
He tells them, وَلَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ Upon them
salawat, not just one salat.
How many?
An infinite number of salawat, of blessings.
It's infinite.
Salawat, it's not just one.
صَلَوَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ As if Allah ﷻ
is saying, وَلَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَحَمَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ
رَحَمَةٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ Too many rahmat, special rahmat and
one single rahmat from Allah ﷻ.
These are all for the as-Sabirin, for
those who go, who endure trial and they
show patience and perseverance.
وَرَحْمَةٌ So, صَلَوَاتٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ رَحْمَةٌ وَمِنَ الْمَلَائِكَ
دُعَاءٌ وَإِن كَانَ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَهُوَ دُعَاءٌ This
is very important.
When Allah ﷻ says صَلَوَاتٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ
So, this salawat from Allah ﷻ is rahmat.
And then from the angels are du'a.
Because also the angels they make du'a.
إِنَّ اللَّهُ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ Allah and
His angels, they make salawat upon the Prophet.
What does it mean they make salawat upon
the Prophet?
They send salutations upon the Prophet.
So, the salawat from the angels is du
'a.
You know when you pray and you stay
in your prayer place making du'a or
making dhikr?
Do you know brothers that the angels they're
making istighfar for you until you get up
from your place and go home?
As long as you're sitting in your place
of worship when you finish your salawat, making
du'a, istighfar.
The angels they say, اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ
اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ Until you stand and you
leave.
A lot of us don't, you know, just
salamu alaykum, right?
And salamu alaykum in the parking lot.
Right there.
We're busy.
But if you know what you're missing out,
you stay for a minute at least and
you get some rahma.
Some du'a from the angels, right?
But we don't know.
فَاللَّهُمَّ أَعَلِّمْنَا Rahma of Allah.
You know the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad
ﷺ that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
ar-Rahman ar-Rahim.
He has hundred types of rahma.
Have you heard the hadith?
The Prophet Muhammad, he says that Allah azza
wa jal has one hundred mercy.
He sent down on earth only one rahma.
From this rahma, the mom is using it,
the father is using it, the husband is
using it, the wife is using it, the
animals are using it.
Everybody is living off of only one rahma
of Allah and Allah azza wa jal has
stored ninety rahma to be used in the
hereafter.
To forgive.
Forgive, yalla forgive.
Arham, arham, arham, arham.
So this rahma that you see here today,
is only one rahma of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
That's been used.
And Allah azza wa jal ar-Rahman ar
-Rahim has stored ninety rahma in the Day
of Judgment.
وَوَأُولَيْكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ And indeed those are the
truly guided.
المهتدون المهتدون ايش المهتدون في الدنيا لما يحبه
الله وفي الآخرة على صراط الله وفي الجنة
النظر الى وجهه سبحانه وتعالى هادو المهتدون هادي
الهدى ومن يهدي الله فهو المهتدي من يهدي
الله Whoever Allah guides, he's truly been guided.
Because brothers and sisters if you are here,
the greatest gift and the greatest blessing that
Allah would bless you and I with is
Hidayah.
What's Islam without Hidayah?
There's so many out there.
Don't you agree?
More than 50% of the Muslims don't
pray.
Do you know that?
Statistics.
More than 50% of the Muslims do
not pray.
So here is Muslim by name but where
is the actions of him?
ما فيه هداية سبحان الله So this is
why the greatest blessing and ni'mah and gift
that Allah would give to you with is
Hidayah.
What's the point?
Wallahi sometimes you know some people they say
يا خيشوف Allah عز و جل has given
him everything.
Maybe he has everything.
Even a Muslim maybe he has everything but
Allah عز و جل did not give him
something beautiful.
Did not give him something amazing.
Maybe he didn't give him happiness.
Maybe he did not give him the blessing
of of when reading the Qur'an understanding
the Qur'an or feeling the sweetness of
the Qur'an.
Imagine that's a great punishment in this dunya.
You read the Qur'an comes in from
one ear comes out from the other.
خلاص nothing touches the heart.
This is a punishment in itself.
يُعَذَّبُونَ وَلَا يَدِئَنَهُمْ يَعَذَّبُونَ وَلَا يَدِئَنَهُمْ يَعَذَّبُونَ
They've been punished but they don't even know
that they've been punished.
I'm okay.
You think that they're okay but they're not
okay.
There's no Hidayah.
This is why Allah عز و جل says
من يهدي الله Who can guide?
Only Allah.
Can Prophet Muhammad guide?
Yes or no?
Yes or no?
Yes, he can.
But how can he?
إِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِي إِلَى صِرَاطِهِ You can truly guide
people which means you can show them the
way, the path.
That's the guidance that the Prophet Muhammad has.
But the guidance, the true guidance that you
can guide someone to be admitted to Jannah
it's only for Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
إِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِي مَنْ حِبَبْتُ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهِ هِدِي مَنْ
يَشَاءُ You cannot guide whomever you want but
it is only Allah who can guide.
Yes, Prophet Muhammad can show the path.
We can guide people who are here.
You can go to your neighbor and show
him and tell him and your friends and
your family, your kids.
Pray, pray, be good.
You're guiding them here meaning you're showing them
the path.
But it is not up to you for
people to pray or not to pray.
Your job is to tell people, is to
direct, give them directions.
And it is up to Allah عز و
جل who can guide سبحانه وتعالى.
And we said last week or the weeks
before that this ayah of الصابرين that we
talked about here.
All these things that Allah عز و جل
has mentioned you know a touch of fear
and a touch of hunger and loss of
lives.
We said that this is applicable for Hajar
عليها السلام.
And Allah عز و جل right after this
He talked about Why Hajar?
Why this woman?
When we talk about الصفة, we talked about
woman.
We talked about the sacrifice of this woman.
Wasn't she afraid?
You tell me.
Yes, she was.
لَنَبْلُوَكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ لَمْ تَكُنْ خَائِفًا كَانَتْ
خَائِفًا She was alone.
In what?
In the middle of the desert.
جائعة Tell me.
بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ جُوع means hunger.
Wasn't she hungry?
She was hungry.
Her baby was hungry.
He was crying.

و المروع Looking for some food.

Looking for some help.
And then Allah says بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ

What would money do to her there?

وَنَقْسٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ No money.
وَالْأَنْفُسِ مَا كَنْ مَعَ إِبْرَهِيمِ Left her alone.

وَالْأَنْفُسِ وَالْثَمَرَاتِ فِي وَادٍ عِنْدَ بَيْتِ غَيْرَ ذِي

أُصِيبَ بِالْمَصَائِبِ وَكُلُّنَ ذَكَى الرَّجُلُ يَا مَنْ أُصِيبَ
بِالْمَصَائِبِ وَكُلُّنَ ذَكَى الرَّجُلُ تَذَكَّرْ هَاجَرَ To those
who've been afflicted with any type of hardship
Or you go into any type of difficulties

went through صُبَّتْ عَلَيْهَا الْمَصَائِبُ وَلَيْكِنْ رَبُّ الله
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى رَفَعَ عَلَيْهَا الْمَصَائِبُ كَانَ جَزَاءُهَا The
جزاء was the gift صَلَوَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهَا وَرَحْمَةٌ
صَلَوَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهَا وَرَحْمَةٌ نعم This is why
today when you make Tahiyyat التَّحِيَةُ لِلَّهُ الصَّلَوَةُ
الطَّيْئَةُ السَّلَامَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى
آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمٍ Who is
Ali Ibrahim?
She is amongst Ali Ibrahim اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَلَكَ

إِبْرَاهِيمٍ وَعَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمٍ His wife, his Yaqub, his

سبحانه وتعالى says Indeed, the hills of As
-Saffah are among the symbols of Allah فَمَنْ

deen of Hanafiyah The deen of Ibrahim عليه
السلام But people did not know about something
called Islam at the time So they But
they used to venerate the Ka'bah The
Ka'bah is the Ka'bah even for
them So once these people They entered and
they did haram inside the Ka'bah Allah
عز و جل disguised them into Two idols
Quraysh, what did they do?
To show people Those who don't honor The
Ka'bah, this is what happens to them
So they put one sunim in the Safa
And one sunim in the Marwah They put

فصرى هذا الصنمين يعبدان من دون الله But

revealed the ayah إِنَّ الصَّفَ وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَاءٍ
إِلَّا فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتُ وَإِعْتَمَرًا فَلَا جُنَاحًا عَلَيْهِ
You should do the tawaf between Safa and
Marwah That's one opinion Second opinion شغال Second
opinion It says سُؤَال سَأَلَهُ الْأَنصَار The Ansar
they came to Rasulallah And they asked him
the question Ya Rasulallah, before Islam We used
to worship Manat It was a sunim by
the name of Manat Ahl al-Ta'if
They used to, you know Ta'if Ta
'if were, right Ta'if near the hundred
kilometers from Mecca They used to worship Al
-Uzza As Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says
Al-Lata wa Al-Uzza And Mecca they
have Hubal Mecca they have Hubal and they
have Al-Lat So these are the three
main gods Manat, Al-Uzza, Al-Lat So
he said, Ya Rasulallah You know, in Jahiliyyah
We used to honor these gods You know,
Manat, Al-Lat, Al-Uzza فَقُلْنَ لَا نَطُوفُ
بَعْدَ الْمَنَاتِ بَأَيِّ سَنَةٍ فَقُلْنَ لَا نَطُوفُ بَعْدَ
الْمَنَاتِ بَأَيِّ سَنَةٍ So they said, after Islam
We should not do Tawaf Among any Sanam
Safa has a Sanam And Al-Marwa has
a Sanam When I do this, that means
not you And I'm just doing There is
one Sanam in Safa And one Sanam in
Al-Marwa قالت الأنصار يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَا

used to only honor Manat So we did
not do Tawaf Between Safa and Al-Marwa

tribes So Allah Azawajal revealed بعد الإسلام إِنَّ
الصَّفَ وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَاعِلِ اللَّهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ
وَإِعْتَمَرَ فَلَاجُنَا عَلَيْهِ This is the second opinion
Third opinion Is an interesting opinion العرب انقسموا
في الجاهلية إلى ثلاث أقسام إلى قسمين العرب
زاد الجاهلية They were split into two main
segments You have what we call الحُمَّس أربع
قبائل يسمون الحُمَّس من الحماس حماس يعني من
الحماس فكانوا متحمسين متحمسين لبيت الله الحرم والمجد
الحرم أي شيء حرم كانوا متحمسين له So
this group called الحُمَّس They had this enthusiasm
and this zeal To an eagerness to the
area of الحرم Because عرفة was not حرم
And عرفة is not حرم today Up to
مزدرفة is حرم Up to So they used
to say And this group are Quraish And
Kinana and Khuza'a These are the main
tribes of the Arab at the time They
said no We honor And venerate الحرم And
since And since عرفة is not from the
حرم From the حرم We will go only
up to صف المروى And then we go
to مزدرفة Because مزدرفة is from the حرم
And we meet those other Arabs So we

Like you into المستقل اليمنين كانوا من الحمس
المستقل اليمنين كانوا من الحمس كانوا من الحمس
الحمس لبنانيين ما كانوا في ذاك الوقت ولا
كانوا كانوا كانوا ما قلت كان اليمنين هم
الحمس The Yemen are the origins of the

صورة البقرة but with the آية that talk
about الحج Exactly وَعَلَى النَّاسِ حَجُّوا الْبَيْتِ مِنْ
إِسْتَطَعَ إِلَهِ سَبِيلًا Right there put in الصفة
المروى مثلا Right وَأَتِمُوا الْعُمْرَةَ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ
وَبِعْدِنْ حَطْنَا Right this آية it make sense
الصبر And then this other آية that will
come after that Which are very scary آيات
Regarding those who withhold the علم The آية
that was revealed upon Upon Those who يكتمون
العلم منهم Again we are going to talk
about بن سرائيل one more time We are
going to talk about بن سرائيل So in
between كتم العلم And in between الصبر Allah
is talking about الصفة والمروى Why?

تَقْفِنَا وَتَرْفِنَا فَإِنَا كُنَا مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ He made
that dua When he admitted He is wrong
When did he make that dua He made
it in عرفة This is why it is
called عرفة And then came مزدرفة Why it
is called مزدرفة اقتراب عرفة يقال انه انتقى
قال انه انتقى We will talk about this
more in detail But I am just giving
you the gold The gold meat And then
مزدرفة Once he made that dua Came القبول
And this is why مزدرفة After عرفة you
go to مزدرفة مزدرفة in Arabic means Closeness
Closeness to Allah عز و جل So he
goes to مزدرفة And now that I have
been حمد لله I made my dua My
dua has been answered عرفة I go to
مزدرفة Come closer to Allah So I have
to show some gratefulness I have to show
some thanks What do I do I go
to Mina the next day To offer sacrifice
شكرا Nothing is just like this عرفة Why
Shaykh we do it like this Why don't
we go to Mina first and then we
go to مزدرفة And at the end I
go عرفة There is a sequence there Because
there is a meaning behind it We are

to the عمرة Why the best عمرة The
Prophet Muhammad عز و جل did four عمرات
عمرة الحديبية Although he did not complete it
Because Quraysh did not let him But still
it counts as عمرة عمرة الجعرانة Is this
another عمرة Which he did The عمرة which
he did in fact The عمرة of الحج
The عمرة الحج And all these عمرات were
not done in Ramadan Because some of you
said Oh the best عمرة is in Ramadan
No, the best عمرة is not in Ramadan
The best عمرة is During the Days of
Dhul Hijjah Why?
Because the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم
says The best days in the sight of
Allah عز و جل أحب الأعمال The best
actions in the sight of Allah Are in
the days of Dhul Hijjah But why A
lot of us understand Because the hadith of
the Prophet Muhammad Whoever performs عمرة in Ramadan
As if he has done عمرة with me
You know the hadith Whoever does عمرة in
Ramadan من اعتمر في رمضان كأنه حجة معي
حجة معي As if he has done عمرة
with me Because there was this woman Who
missed her عمرة Or her حج with Rasulullah
صلى الله عليه وسلم The Prophet Muhammad صلى
الله عليه وسلم Did one حج On the
tenth of Dhul Hijjah Are you following?
So this woman she came crying What is
wrong?
Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم I missed my
حج with you So he asked her Because
right there it will be Ramadan Did you
do عمرة in Ramadan?
Yes, he said Then the Prophet told her
عمرة in Ramadan as if you did حج
with me And then he melted her heart
And then she stopped crying We need to
understand these things Why certain ayat are revealed
Why certain hadith are revealed Before we make
a judgement The best عمرة Some of you
may change their plans now I already have
a plan to go for عمرة in Ramadan
No, don't change it But the Prophet said
it to that woman Who was crying, who
missed her عمرة With Rasulullah صلى الله عليه
وسلم But the best عمرة is in the
days of Dhul Hijjah Especially the first ten
days of Dhul Hijjah From reward Because there
is no reward better than Whatever action that
you do on The ten days of Dhul
Hijjah أحب الأيام إلى الله Is that good?
Questions Those who remain in the masjid You
know, after After praying Fajr And then you
stay In the place of worship Until the
sun goes up And then you pray to
rakah You will get the reward of Hajj
and عمرة You will get the reward Brothers
we have tea If you want to share

at home Or do I have to be
in the masjid Or if I were to
pray at home and then stay home If
I were to stay home That is الحمد
لله I don't have to come to the
masjid No, من صل الفجر في جماعة You
pray in the masjid And then you stay
in your place of worship But for the
sisters they don't have to Because they pray
home So she stay in her place of
worship In the place where she prayed Until
sun rise And then she prays to rakah
She gets the reward of عمرة And Hajj
So this hadith Has been singled out And
it's Especially for Definitely praying in the masjid
And staying in the masjid Until sun rise
