00:00:00 --> 00:00:04
			Hey there greetings and salaam My
name is Nyima B Robert and I'm an

00:00:04 --> 00:00:08
			award winning author, editor and
book coach for women who have an

00:00:08 --> 00:00:13
			idea and want to take that idea
all the way to publishing and

00:00:13 --> 00:00:17
			launching their book. And I'm here
with a wake up call for all of you

00:00:17 --> 00:00:22
			who decided that 2020 would be the
year that you would finally write

00:00:22 --> 00:00:26
			and publish your book. But before
I go into my wake up call, I want

00:00:26 --> 00:00:27
			to ask you a question.

00:00:28 --> 00:00:31
			How much progress have you made?
In the past few weeks?

00:00:33 --> 00:00:35
			Have you created your outline?

00:00:36 --> 00:00:39
			Have you started writing? Are you
halfway through?

00:00:41 --> 00:00:42
			Or have you shelved it?

00:00:43 --> 00:00:50
			Have you allowed the current
uncertainty in our world? To blow

00:00:50 --> 00:00:55
			you off course? Have you shelved
your book? Have you given up on

00:00:55 --> 00:01:00
			your idea? Or have you decided
that it's not for now, now's not

00:01:00 --> 00:01:01
			the right time.

00:01:03 --> 00:01:06
			If that's you, I'm really here to
give a public service

00:01:06 --> 00:01:08
			announcement, okay.

00:01:09 --> 00:01:12
			There is never a good time,

00:01:13 --> 00:01:18
			where there is always is an
opportunity. And that's what I

00:01:18 --> 00:01:22
			would like to share with you. In
this video series that I've

00:01:22 --> 00:01:25
			created, especially for those of
you who have been wanting to write

00:01:25 --> 00:01:28
			a book and have not made the
progress that you could have.

00:01:30 --> 00:01:34
			We all know that our current
situation is one where everybody

00:01:34 --> 00:01:38
			is in a state of flux, our
lifestyles have changed, our

00:01:38 --> 00:01:41
			routines have changed, a lot of
things are up in the air, and

00:01:41 --> 00:01:46
			there is uncertainty all around.
But I want to bring you back to

00:01:46 --> 00:01:52
			focus on a few key points. Because
what I believe, and I'm going to

00:01:52 --> 00:01:59
			just be open about this, I believe
that if we have our health, and

00:01:59 --> 00:02:03
			our family, and we are safe in our
homes, we have everything we need

00:02:03 --> 00:02:04
			to thrive.

00:02:06 --> 00:02:09
			I'm gonna say that again. If we
have our health, we have our

00:02:09 --> 00:02:14
			family, and we have our safe in
our homes, and we have enough to

00:02:14 --> 00:02:18
			eat and enough toilet roll, then
we have everything we need to

00:02:18 --> 00:02:22
			thrive. So if that is the case,
and let's just accept for now that

00:02:22 --> 00:02:25
			it is that you have everything you
need to thrive. And I'm going to

00:02:25 --> 00:02:26
			challenge you.

00:02:28 --> 00:02:34
			Why should your book Beyond the
backburner? Why should your book

00:02:34 --> 00:02:35
			be put on the shelf?

00:02:36 --> 00:02:37
			Why

00:02:38 --> 00:02:43
			do you feel that your story is no
longer worth telling? Or that your

00:02:43 --> 00:02:47
			message is no longer worth
sharing? Who told you that?

00:02:52 --> 00:02:57
			We're making choices all the time.
And so I invite you now to go

00:02:57 --> 00:03:01
			through what I call what we call
like, it is like a State of the

00:03:01 --> 00:03:05
			Union address. Okay? This is like,
hey, hey, calling all of you who

00:03:05 --> 00:03:10
			ever said that I want to write and
publish my book in 2020. This

00:03:10 --> 00:03:13
			message is for you. Because I'm
calling everybody to order right

00:03:13 --> 00:03:17
			now. Okay. And so this is how it
goes. We know the current

00:03:17 --> 00:03:22
			situation. So let's go into what
that means for us, as women with a

00:03:22 --> 00:03:25
			message as people with a story to
tell as people who have a book

00:03:25 --> 00:03:31
			inside us. What does this mean for
us? Well, firstly, what we need to

00:03:31 --> 00:03:36
			be looking at is our mindset, what
is going on in our heads that has

00:03:36 --> 00:03:40
			made us pause on our writing
project that has made us reluctant

00:03:40 --> 00:03:41
			to move forward?

00:03:43 --> 00:03:47
			It's the fear is the fear. It's
the lack of control. And so the

00:03:47 --> 00:03:50
			first thing that I'm going to
invite every single one of you to

00:03:50 --> 00:03:56
			do is reframe your current
situation as an opportunity. Ask

00:03:56 --> 00:04:00
			yourself the question, How could
this be the best thing that ever

00:04:00 --> 00:04:05
			happened for my book, and for my
mission, and for my message and my

00:04:05 --> 00:04:10
			legacy? Second, focus on what you
can control, focus on what's going

00:04:10 --> 00:04:15
			on up here. Focus on how you're
using your time, focus on what

00:04:15 --> 00:04:18
			you're listening to what you're
taking in and what you are doing

00:04:18 --> 00:04:26
			on a daily basis. Third, reclaim,
reclaim your legacy and recommit

00:04:26 --> 00:04:33
			to it. Get back in touch with your
why. And so, as you implement

00:04:33 --> 00:04:37
			these mindset shifts that are
needed. I want to go into very

00:04:37 --> 00:04:40
			briefly in this video, just a few
of the things that some of the

00:04:40 --> 00:04:44
			problems that I'm seeing coming up
with my clients and you know, my

00:04:44 --> 00:04:48
			potential clients, how we can deal
with those some of the strategies

00:04:48 --> 00:04:52
			that you can use to not allow some
of these issues that have arisen

00:04:52 --> 00:04:58
			to blow you off course and take
you into the middle of 2020 even

00:04:58 --> 00:05:00
			further away from

00:05:00 --> 00:05:03
			On your dream of writing a book,
we don't want you further away

00:05:03 --> 00:05:06
			from your dream, we want you
achieving your dream in this time.

00:05:06 --> 00:05:11
			So the first thing that I'm seeing
is that I'm seeing ladies who are

00:05:11 --> 00:05:16
			paralyzed with fear of the unknown
and the uncertainty. And this

00:05:16 --> 00:05:19
			really this kind of this fear, and
this contraction is leading them

00:05:19 --> 00:05:24
			to give up on their book project,
shelve it considered that it's not

00:05:24 --> 00:05:30
			important. And, you know, when we
do that, it leads to a loss of

00:05:30 --> 00:05:33
			motivation in general. Okay, so if
you thought you were a

00:05:33 --> 00:05:37
			procrastinator before, boy, now,
don't you have excuses to

00:05:37 --> 00:05:41
			procrastinate, right? You got
excuses, plenty, the world

00:05:41 --> 00:05:46
			economy, Corona, the kids are all
homemade. Now, those of us who are

00:05:46 --> 00:05:51
			making excuses before, we feel
that we have a ton of legitimate

00:05:51 --> 00:05:55
			excuses, right for why we haven't
written our book. But what I'm

00:05:55 --> 00:05:59
			going to invite you to do is put
these strategies into play. double

00:05:59 --> 00:06:00
			down on your mindset.

00:06:02 --> 00:06:06
			Reframe the situation that you're
in, and focus on your dream,

00:06:06 --> 00:06:10
			really kind of amplify it and
recommit to it and revisit that,

00:06:10 --> 00:06:11
			why so important.

00:06:13 --> 00:06:16
			The other thing that I'm seeing
happening is that there are new

00:06:17 --> 00:06:22
			demands on our time, okay, our
usual routine, our daily routines

00:06:22 --> 00:06:26
			have shifted. And now maybe there
are children at home, maybe spouse

00:06:26 --> 00:06:29
			is at home, maybe you don't have
the space that you had before the

00:06:29 --> 00:06:33
			time that you had before. And what
that means is that especially as

00:06:33 --> 00:06:38
			women, typically, we end up
putting ourselves last, we put our

00:06:38 --> 00:06:42
			dreams and goals on the
backburner, and we prioritize

00:06:42 --> 00:06:45
			everybody else. And that means
that your book is going to be

00:06:45 --> 00:06:48
			shelved your book, if you haven't
recommitted to your why and

00:06:48 --> 00:06:52
			reconnect it to it, your book is
going to be a nice to have, it's

00:06:52 --> 00:06:57
			going to be a hobby. And as we all
know, hobbies don't get priority,

00:06:57 --> 00:07:02
			okay? Passions get priority,
passion gets priority, Mission

00:07:02 --> 00:07:09
			gets priority. And so, again, I
invite you to recommit. But then

00:07:09 --> 00:07:13
			on a practical level, let's look
at how you can leverage things

00:07:13 --> 00:07:17
			like writing sprints, okay, so if
you can just find 1020 30 minutes

00:07:17 --> 00:07:22
			a day, to sprint right in that
time. Another strategy I'm

00:07:22 --> 00:07:26
			teaching my clients is to leverage
tech, okay, tools like Google,

00:07:26 --> 00:07:30
			talk to text, and also the
recording as well recording the

00:07:30 --> 00:07:34
			pieces that they want to put into
the book, and, you know, have an

00:07:34 --> 00:07:39
			opportunity to check in daily or
weekly with a word count, so you

00:07:39 --> 00:07:43
			can stay accountable. Right, this
is what we are doing with our

00:07:43 --> 00:07:46
			clients at the moment is to just
keep the momentum going and keep

00:07:46 --> 00:07:49
			them on course, is that they do
have a weekly check in with their

00:07:49 --> 00:07:53
			word counts, specifically, right,
so they keep on course. And then

00:07:53 --> 00:07:57
			the third thing that I'm seeing
with with my clients and potential

00:07:57 --> 00:08:03
			clients is feeling reluctant to
invest the time and the resources

00:08:03 --> 00:08:06
			in the support that they need.
Okay. And basically, what that

00:08:06 --> 00:08:10
			means is that if if you have
decided, I'm not going to spend

00:08:10 --> 00:08:12
			anything, I'm not going to spend
any time I'm not going to spend

00:08:12 --> 00:08:17
			any money, then what that means is
that you can't get the help that

00:08:17 --> 00:08:22
			you need. And that just slows
everything down. So all those

00:08:22 --> 00:08:26
			stories, the I'm not good enough
that Who do I think I am to write

00:08:26 --> 00:08:29
			a book and all the chatter in your
head, you don't have anybody to

00:08:29 --> 00:08:32
			help you through that. To put that
into context, you know, you don't

00:08:32 --> 00:08:35
			have somebody kind of checking in
with you to say, you know, how's

00:08:35 --> 00:08:38
			it going, where's the word count,
you know, you don't have somebody

00:08:38 --> 00:08:41
			to look over your book idea and
give you feedback, or read your

00:08:41 --> 00:08:46
			chapters and give you feedback.
And so that means that again, more

00:08:46 --> 00:08:50
			excuses, more excuses to
procrastinate more excuses to put

00:08:50 --> 00:08:54
			it on the shelf. And so really,
what I would advise is at this

00:08:54 --> 00:09:00
			time, take up any offers of, you
know, working with an expert,

00:09:00 --> 00:09:04
			where they are offering something,
maybe something at a lower price

00:09:04 --> 00:09:09
			point, especially because of the
current economic situation. Take

00:09:09 --> 00:09:14
			up those offers. Okay? If there
are any offers of split payments,

00:09:14 --> 00:09:17
			or if you're able to do like a
payment plan, do that. But most

00:09:17 --> 00:09:22
			importantly, focus on the value.
Focus on the value of your project

00:09:22 --> 00:09:26
			of your project, focus on the
value of your book, the long term

00:09:26 --> 00:09:31
			value, be one of those people that
really does see the long term and

00:09:31 --> 00:09:34
			not just in the short term,
because a lot of people at the

00:09:34 --> 00:09:38
			moment are in fear and
contraction, and they may stay

00:09:38 --> 00:09:44
			there until this crisis is over.
And they may feel that it's safer

00:09:44 --> 00:09:47
			for them to stay in fear and
contraction because they protect

00:09:47 --> 00:09:54
			themselves in this time. However,
all that means is that you will

00:09:54 --> 00:09:58
			either be simply treading water,
or more likely, you will take

00:09:58 --> 00:09:59
			steps backwards.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:03
			So when the crisis is over, you
are going to come out of the

00:10:03 --> 00:10:08
			crisis behind others. Not having
made the progress you could have

00:10:08 --> 00:10:11
			made, not having achieved what you
could have achieved, not having

00:10:11 --> 00:10:16
			built what you could have built,
if you had simply refrained, let

00:10:16 --> 00:10:20
			go of the fear and take in a
helping hand, you know, to see you

00:10:20 --> 00:10:24
			over the fear over the bridge of
fear to the other side.

00:10:25 --> 00:10:30
			So I hope that that has given you
some food for thought I have more

00:10:30 --> 00:10:33
			videos coming out that kind of
break this down into smaller

00:10:33 --> 00:10:37
			chunks. But for now, just want to
let you know that we do have a

00:10:37 --> 00:10:39
			case study group that we're
working with, we're calling it the

00:10:39 --> 00:10:44
			lockdown experiment. But we are
working with women just like you

00:10:44 --> 00:10:51
			over the next 90 days to get their
book done. Basic from idea.

00:10:51 --> 00:10:55
			Getting the idea clarified,
getting your audience clarified,

00:10:55 --> 00:10:59
			getting clear on your books
message or your story, creating a

00:10:59 --> 00:11:03
			banging outline, a solid
structure, and then holding their

00:11:03 --> 00:11:07
			hands as they write their book and
get it finished so they can edit

00:11:07 --> 00:11:11
			it and get it ready for the world.
And if you say that sounds like

00:11:11 --> 00:11:14
			something that would help you
something that you would love to

00:11:14 --> 00:11:20
			be a part of, then just reply to
this email with committed or

00:11:20 --> 00:11:23
			comment below with committed and
let's have a chat to see if you're

00:11:23 --> 00:11:28
			a fit. Okay, see if we're a fit to
work together to see if we can

00:11:28 --> 00:11:33
			help you to get your book out of
all this crisis is over. Look out

00:11:33 --> 00:11:37
			for my next videos coming in the
next couple of days. And I hope to

00:11:37 --> 00:11:39
			see you on the other side. Take
care
